Jacquie Doucette hosts the Beyond Retirement podcast, helping people with lifestyle planning and ideas for the post-work reality, a reality she herself will finally be stepping into soon!
Jacquie's 20 year career with the civil service in Canada is coming to a close in April of 2022, and so all the things she's talked about doing are finally going to start happening. Primary amongst these is travelling, whether short vacations or, in particular, longer stays, mostly facilitated by house sitting.
On Beyond Retirement, a common theme is how to stay in a place longer, start feeling like a local, and embrace the intentional nomad life. House sitting is a great facilitator for this, as it comes with comfort, trust (for both house owner and sitter), and the ability to settle into a place and plan some activities, including volunteering and engaging with local community.
Travel is a great topic for anything retirement-related, and it is at the forefront of Jacquie's message and content. On this episode of Travel Podcast the World, she talks about some of her plans for the podcast while she makes the big transition, including some exciting field recordings of her various stops along the way.
