direction. Let's take for example you probably scroll through Instagram sometimes and you'll see a lot of people that use really cool drippy bright glazes and that's completely fine if you want to go down that route. And a lot of potters get in this zone where they feel like they don't have a unique voice because they're just kind of their pottery and their glazes kind of looks just like everybody else's.

Speaker
But here's what you could do, very small things that you could do to help you find and it's all about making tiny alterations. So let's say, for example, mugs are a very popular thing to that pretty much every potter makes, right? And you see a mug that somebody else makes and you love it. You love the glazes and you want to try to replicate that glaze because it's so cool. Here's what you can do. So on your handle, try to find out a way that is unique to you.

Because they may be making a certain handle that maybe looks normal, let's say that. But if you do your own version of a handle, then that becomes your own unique voice.

You do the same thing with the shape of the pot as well. Because they maybe do a certain shape, but you can do a different shape and that becomes your different, your voice. It's not about doing something extravagant. It's about doing these tiny little alterations over and over and over again until you have found something that works for you.
