Communicating with Pets

00:00:43
Speaker
So before we start, my dogs are turds this morning.
00:00:49
Speaker
I've been gone on a trip for a few days. And so we room text me the entire time. I don't know if we've actually talked about this on the podcast, but we bought our dog's fluent pet. And so he has his little buttons. Our other dog won't touch them because they're terrifying to her for some reason.
00:01:08
Speaker
but my entire trip I was getting texts on my phone basically from my dog being like, mom, now, mom, snugs, love you, mom. Oh my god, that would break my heart. The whole time I was like, little precious. I had over 250 messages from my dog in a three and a half day span basically. That is really, really cute. And he's sick too. He got kennelkaw from the stupid boarding place.
00:01:36
Speaker
He had his vaccination, but because it was like towards the end of it, I guess the vet was like, that's probably why he got it because he's like now he's due for it. So he's like coughing and like he just wants snugs 24 seven. I'm like, he's literally like a toddler.
00:01:53
Speaker
He's like, I'm sick. And then on top of it, somebody is renovating their house. It's like four houses down and across the street, and I can hear it. So just in case you hear construction noise, that's also happening. Yeah. If you hear random Zoom sounds, I have one of our window in our dining room on the other side of our house is open. But for whatever reason, I keep hearing
00:02:20
Speaker
people racing their cars. I hate that. And you know that's not even on base that that's happening. It's like I'm hearing it from off base somewhere. Yeah. But I keep hearing like the zooming noises. So if you're hearing just random noises, just know it's probably not a ghost. This one for once is not a ghost.

Aquarius Season: A New Era

00:02:42
Speaker
So with all of that, what are we talking about today? It's Aquarius season.
00:02:48
Speaker
Yay. One of our favorite people who has also been a guest on our podcast is an Aquarius. Yeah. Well, guest on a supercast. A supercast. Yes. A supercast and probably another supercast. One of my sister-in-laws is an Aquarius too and she's precious. Mike's little sister is an Aquarius. It was interesting to learn a bit more about- Yeah. Yeah, for sure.
00:03:17
Speaker
I was like, oh, like I feel like to like every Aquarius, I know I adore them. Mm hmm. Like, I don't know why, but then they're all precious. They really are. So as has been tradition with our Zodiac episodes, we're going to start out with how the cut feels about Aquarius season. They wrote that by the end of January, you have likely become totally sick of Capricorn season.
00:03:44
Speaker
Which, okay, we joked about this before. They always are like, this season's amazing. You're probably tired of the last fucking season. With Capricorn season, they were like, these people are boring. And now they're like, also they're the worst. Rude. Rude. But you'll probably be totally sick of Capricorn season with its emphasis on hard work, personal discipline, and respecting tradition.
00:04:13
Speaker
although it can be powerful to look at the world through Capricorn's practical and realistic lens. At a certain point, it just feels, or it just begins to feel oppressive. This is when Aquarius season arrives to lift you from despair, to reignite your imagination, and to give you free reign to the parts of your mind that are rebellious, joyful, and strange. Lifting you from despair, Jesus, that's deep.
00:04:40
Speaker
rude. As a Capricorn, I'm offended. Right. But also too, it's like right after like, everybody overspends at Christmas time. So I don't think it's necessarily just Capricorns like having that effect. It's like, just the time of year in general. And then tax season rolls around and you're like, okay,
00:05:05
Speaker
I could do this again. Tax season stresses me out because I'm an independent contractor. And so I do pay taxes. My job doesn't do it for me.
00:05:20
Speaker
I just write a check every quarter and send it in and hope that it covers it. And so by the time we get to taxes and I'm like, Oh God, I hope it was enough, which we've always been fine. I think last year I underestimated it by like $20. And I was like, okay, I can handle $20, but it stresses me out so bad. Yeah. I don't even ever touch taxes. I just, Mike always does it. Um, you know,
00:05:50
Speaker
because of his whole accounting background and shape. So he just does it all and usually waits until April 15th to do it. So I don't touch anything. I just hand him my W-2s and I'm like, figure it out. I don't know. One thing my grandpa always had me do from the time I was like 18 was
00:06:12
Speaker
I had a CPA. I've never done my own taxes. I've always paid someone to do them for me. And then when I met Anthony, I thought that was a normal thing. I just thought everyone had a CPA. I met Anthony and he was like, you pay someone to do that? And I'm like, yeah.
00:06:28
Speaker
And then so he, when we were married, he had my CPA do our taxes and he was like, Oh my God, this is so much easier. You're like, here's my things. And then they go, did you do this? Did you do that? What about this? And then I think of everything and they write off all they can for you. And then you don't have to worry about anything because there were times that we got audited. We got audited by the IRS like three years in a row for some reason.
00:06:53
Speaker
But it ended up that our CPA actually missed something and we got more money back. Oh, nice. But it was something that we would have not known to do. Yeah. But it was funny because they were like, we need all your tax statements. And then they were like, we actually owe you money. So taxes are stupid. They are stupid. But a query season isn't stupid. But a query season is great.

Aquarius in Mythology

00:07:19
Speaker
So just some background and symbolism.
00:07:22
Speaker
Aquarius season starts on January 20th and it runs through February 18th and they are a fixed air sign that is ruled by Uranus, which is known as the planet of rebellion, electricity, and innovations, and is often considered to be an unconventional planet.
00:07:40
Speaker
Uranus oversees science, metaphysics, and our higher minds. And just a little fun fact, prior to the discovery of the planet in 1781, Aquarius was associated with Saturn, which is a more responsible and regiment ruled planet. So I think Uranus fits them a little bit better anyways. Uranus. If you've ever been to Missouri, guys, there is a fudge factory called Uranus and everything is like
00:08:10
Speaker
butt jokes. Yeah. They're like,
00:08:13
Speaker
Do you want me to pack your fudge for you?" And then everybody laughs and they're like, hope you enjoyed having your fudge packed in Uranus. It's like a whole thing. It's great. You guys should look it up. There's hilarious initials. Yeah. But anyways, Saturn is now considered the minor or the secondary ruler of Aquarius. Uranus is also the only planet that spends on its side and it makes it like the perfect unique or even like quirky planet to rule such a unique and quirky sign.
00:08:42
Speaker
Also, my voice is in and out because I've been on a girl's trip for the last like three days. So my bad guys. It's super raspy this morning. Archetypally, the Aquarius is the misfit, the lone wolf or the mad scientist. And they're your rebels with and without a cause I was reading. So it's like sometimes they're like, I'm just going to do it because I want to. And sometimes you're like, the hell are you doing? And they're like, I just feel like it. Yeah.
00:09:11
Speaker
Get over it. Some more basics regarding Aquarius and Aquarius season. The polarity for Aquarius is yang or masculine energies. The tarot key is the star. The colors are silver and blue. The mantra is I know. And the time of year characteristics, at least for the northern hemisphere,
00:09:38
Speaker
This is the time of midwinter, cold, snow, ice, but with the longer days as it's after the winter solstice. And tree sap begins to rise. I've never heard that before, but that's just what it said. I don't know how it rises, I guess, out of the tree. I don't know. I have a hard time visualizing that from the ground. I don't know. Like the roots. I've never heard that either.
00:10:08
Speaker
That's weird. And then snowdrops are also beginning to be seen. Physically, this is associated with the lower leg and ankles of the body. And just a little bit of mythology surrounding Aquarius and the constellation of Aquarius. So the constellation and just one of the symbols is a man pouring water from a jug. And this constellation was first described in
00:10:38
Speaker
ancient Greek mythology by the astrological poet Menelius and Aquarius was described as someone called Ganymede or probably Ganymede
00:10:52
Speaker
That's probably how to say it. Because it's Greek, they always feel like a meaty. Yeah. So probably I didn't look it up. Probably Ganymede. And he was described as a beautiful boy who even Jupiter found attractive, which already gives me the biggest ick ever because it's like, you're describing as a beautiful boy.
00:11:16
Speaker
like young. This gives me very pedo vibes, but you know, wouldn't be the first time in Greek mythology. I was going to say Greek in different times. Oh, sorry, my alarm.
00:11:29
Speaker
I was like, what is this noise? The stars are kind of constellations. It's fine. Just leave that in there. I love it. Just play it the whole time. Yeah. Jupiter then, because he found him so attractive, he abducted Ganymede while in the form of an eagle. And he was taken to Mount Olympus where he was appointed as the cup bearer to the gods.
00:11:58
Speaker
which is all just gross because it's like, just because you find somebody attractive doesn't give you the right to like abduct them and take them to your home. And then make them serve the gods. Yeah. Gross. And so in the ancient or to the ancient Babylonians, the constellation of Aquarius was named Gula or the Great One. And the water vases that were
00:12:27
Speaker
seen in the constellation were associated with the rains that caused annual flooding in the Tigris and Euphrates rivers which led to the irrigation of their agricultural fields. It was also associated with ancient Egyptian beliefs and early Christian beliefs as well and the imagery of the water vases is often tied to late winter rain and many western or northern hemisphere beliefs throughout history. So it's kind of interesting to see how
00:12:56
Speaker
We've talked about this so many times on the podcast. Culturally, you will have these different areas. They see the same thing in the sky. They associate it with maybe the story is a little bit different, but also it's really similar. And their beliefs associated with that constellation are pretty similarly tied, which is interesting. So that's a little bit of a

Traits and Characteristics of Aquarius

00:13:20
Speaker
mythology. There's so much more, but that's just kind of the brief stuff.
00:13:26
Speaker
So going into the interpretation and characteristics of Aquarius and the season, Aquarius is the 11th sign and it's linked to the 11th house, which is associated with friendships, groups, and organizations. So if you want to know more how Aquarius affects you personally and in your chart, look to your 11th house, see what sign resides there, and especially if it is Aquarius
00:13:56
Speaker
resides in your 11th house, that'll give you a little bit more insight. But due to its air sign qualities, Aquarius is not interested in the emotional commitment of close friendships and are more often the type of people with many acquaintances and very few close friends by choice, not like people just don't want to be friends with them. They have their group that are their close friends, but they're acquaintances with everybody. Yeah.
00:14:23
Speaker
Which I think it's funny because a lot of times they are, at least in the research I was doing, they are considered sociable signs. It's like, oh, for Aquarius season, you should be being social. You should be going to events. But it's very true with all the Aquariuses that I know.
00:14:41
Speaker
Like while they are friendly with everyone, they're not always like BFFs with that person. Yeah. Like there's not like a huge emotional connection. So it is interesting.
00:14:55
Speaker
They also in general are typically known for being intellectual, imaginative, and open-minded, and Aquariuses are also said to be charming, friendly, and eccentric. They're said to be the rebels of the zodiac and to have a creativity that has nothing to do with being like useful. It's just like the way I was reading that it's like being described is that like
00:15:19
Speaker
They're so imaginative and creative, but it's not necessarily like, let me do this thing that's going to help me. It's like, oh, look at this random project that I did just for the hell of it. And then it's like, now onto the next thing. And it doesn't necessarily serve a purpose. So I thought that was kind of funny. I really love that. Yeah. And then air signs are also said to be like the ultra social signs. But with that, I was reading that Aquarius is like,
00:15:49
Speaker
the third of the socials. And so it's like what we were talking about. They are social in general, but it's more like an acquaintance. It's not like on that deeper level. I was also reading too that they long to stand apart from the crowd just in general. And when their ego was threatened though, a typical response from an Aquarius
00:16:17
Speaker
is to remove themselves from the situation as opposed to like confronting a situation head on. And they're often interested in the greater good of society and views the world through a lens where everyone should be free to exist as they choose to without infringing on the rights of others. And I pulled this quote from astro.com and it was in a article from Liz Green.
00:16:47
Speaker
The quote is, the man who carries the pitcher of water freely shares his water with all those who are thirsty. And they said that this quote perfectly describes Aquarius because of their humanitarian tendencies, Aquarians are very generous and giving to others.
00:17:05
Speaker
Aquarius tends to also be utopian in thinking and defiant in idealism. They're all about like looking towards the future but not necessarily like following the rules to get on that path. Yeah and like that's something too that I really just admire about just Aquarians in general like having that because I think it's really important and along with those beliefs on freedom and
00:17:34
Speaker
looking towards the future, they highly value independence and they're very smart as well when it comes to science and are best suited for paths where they're able to help others. And I was reading that they are often fascinated by inventions and gadgets and just like little things like that and that many Aquarians may even become inventors themselves, which is pretty cool.
00:17:59
Speaker
That is pretty cool. Eccentricity is expected and the primary trait that the majority of Aquarians share is that they're all just kind of a little weird in the way that they think and they present to others, which I feel is like what I love about everyone. I know that's an Aquarius. They're different. They don't care. They're just like,
00:18:19
Speaker
Here's who I am. I love that I like absolutely love every Aquarius that I can think of in my life. So they've also been labeled as the collectors of the zodiac. And while it sometimes stands true in terms of like physical objects, this particular nickname is due to the fact that they are like literally always gathering information. And while they're always trying to get information, it's not just like
00:18:44
Speaker
general knowledge like oh let me learn everything that I can in general but it's like rather the topics that they like they as an individual are drawn to the most and a lot of times it's why like when you see these like tech talks about Aquarius traits like it's like oh they're all into like cryptids and aliens and
00:19:06
Speaker
It's like they all have individually a random thing that they're like, I need to know everything I can about this. And it's always like this off the wall thing too. It's never like, I want to learn about what this flower does or what this plant does. It's straight up usually the most off the wall topic that most people are like, that's what you want to learn about. And then they collect all the information that they can about it.
00:19:33
Speaker
In social settings, this hyper-fixation on topics that interest them, coupled with their intent demeanor, is said to give them their stereotypical other, or alien reputation. But they're also known for having friendly, or they're also known for being friendly and likeable socially. I really like that. It's, one, it's funny just thinking back to the Aquarians in our life and stuff.
00:20:04
Speaker
Yeah, I love that they do do that. I never even thought of that. Even during the research and stuff, I never even really thought about how much they'll just collect.
00:20:17
Speaker
Random. Random. To us, random. But it makes sense to them. It does. I read that and I was just laughing because again, thinking about the aquariums in my life, I was just like, this is so true. It's always just this most random topic that they'll tell you about. And you're like, I mean, that was a choice to learn, but okay. I love this for you. Yeah.
00:20:47
Speaker
Oh,

Aquarius in Relationships

00:20:48
Speaker
whatever. I was reading about more about their characteristics and strengths and whatnot. I was reading that they're thought of as the reformers of the Zodiac because they challenge and test societal conventions to make sure that they are still valid and relevant. So not like they're testing it to like go like really against the status quo, but just testing it to test it. Like is it still valid? Is it still relevant? Is it still working?
00:21:16
Speaker
And I love that. But I was also reading that they're also known for their cleverness and dry wit. However, they may use their humor to toy with people who they believe to be intellectually, I can't even say that word so that tells you I'm not there yet, that they believe to be intellectually inferior to them. And that made me laugh because
00:21:39
Speaker
I can absolutely see that. Yeah, for sure. That's hilarious. In terms of life, love, and career, with relationships, Aquarius season can help you build your relationships romantically through more concrete communication and socialization.
00:21:58
Speaker
But I also was reading that it can also blur the lines in terms of platonic friendships or even if you have like a situation ship Like something about the energy of this season. I'll make you just be like Let's let's fuck things up. Yeah, I was like that's that's an interesting like Tidbit of information. Yeah, I was also reading about more like with aquariums and
00:22:26
Speaker
and who they're best suited for. So they tend to be to blend best with fire signs and air signs. So for fire signs, they will understand each other's active and spontaneous nature. And this is like a best fit with Aries and Sagittarius. I was reading that Leo sometimes can get on an Aquarius's nerves and they're just a bit too much for an Aquarius.
00:22:55
Speaker
But then for air signs, they share a lot of the same elemental expression, obviously with being an air sign, and they will have no issues with conversation and sharing ideas related to things like social justice. And then with water signs and earth signs, so water signs tend to bring vulnerability and emotional intelligence to help the Aquarius tap into their deeper feelings.
00:23:22
Speaker
many people who are Aquarius, Aquarians, like I feel so weird saying like, I don't know what it is, like Aquarians, Aquariuses. Yeah, I was struggling in my notes. I'm going back and forth. I was like, I don't know. We're just gonna figure it out. So I don't know. But they may feel overwhelmed by the water signs, depending on, I was reading that especially cancer can be just overwhelming to an Aquarius. And then
00:23:52
Speaker
earth signs, they can stabilize and ground the Aquarian's energy, but earth signs may be the hardest signs for Aquarians to relate to. And specifically, they were saying that Capricorn tends to be too practical and tradition-bound. Taurus seems to be too stubborn, and Virgo would be annoyed at the Aquarius and their clutter when they are
00:24:20
Speaker
working on their creative pursuits. It's really funny because Anthony and I are both our signs, and we've talked about this numerous times. I'm a Cabricorn, Anthony is a Virgo, and our friend Alexis, who we adore, is who we were referring to earlier as our favorite Aquarius. And the three of us, I don't know, we just bully each other.
00:24:47
Speaker
But in a loving way, you know, like, we have the best time. But we, Alexis and I have been talking about this a lot lately, like, most of our friendship is just making fun of each other. And when she comes over, like with Anthony, it's like, Anthony is, here's your drinks, here's your food, like doing the dad thing. And then her and I are just like,
00:25:11
Speaker
crack and jokes at each other's expense the entire time, but it works. Aquarius are said to have a practical side that links them to progress and technological innovation and they're noted to rule technology, which I found to be
00:25:28
Speaker
Interesting, but also like looking at the Aquarius in my life. Attracts. Yeah. Like I'm literally, and I don't even think it's not even like a Gen Z situation. Cause I think about like Mike's little sister. Anytime I need help with anything related to my phone. Hey Jenna, can you help me with this? Like, cause I don't know. And I don't think it's a Gen Z thing. I think it's just more savvy with that shit.
00:25:57
Speaker
I mean, Alexis, Alexis, everything. She's like, oh, you have to do this. Come on, grandma. And we like laugh about it. But yeah, literally like she even tracks. Like whenever I went back to school for my master's degree, she's like, why are you buying books? I mean, I still bought the books because I'm old and I need the books, but I like having books. I like having the books, especially if I'm studying, I got to have a book, but
00:26:23
Speaker
She's like, you know, you can go to this website and get free PDFs of all of your books. And I'm like, how did you find this? Like, again, they collect information. They really do. The most random things. The most random things.

Harnessing Aquarius Energy

00:26:39
Speaker
So, um, also, you know, you don't have to be like an Aquarius sun to harness the energy of Aquarius season. So just as we've discussed in all of our Zodiac episodes, like you can harness
00:26:53
Speaker
the energy of the season and use it to your advantage without having like heavy appearances of it in your birth chart. So during this season you might start to feel tired of doing things in a conventional way or you might feel the urge to break out of your routine and that's because the season is the time to stop being so rigid and restricted
00:27:18
Speaker
to fit in with the mold and the acceptability of others. Aquarian energy is aspirational, curious, and visionary, but if it's operating at a lower vibration it can also be a little bit critical, or even rigid, which is like complete opposite of what they typically are.
00:27:34
Speaker
And, um, astrologer, Jennifer, and I'd, again, you know, we try our best, but this is a name and it's not a name that there was a pronunciation for. So it could be Rakiapi or it could be Rasiapi, not really a hundred percent sure there. But she notes that it's important to stay mindful of your inner critic, watch for where you're being too stubborn and prioritize having an open mind during the season.
00:28:03
Speaker
You should also be aware that during Aquaria season in particular, you will likely find yourself having less patience than usual for people that you find either small-minded, boring, or just like they typically say the wrong thing in general. Remember that when you're feeling this way to take a step back and recharge your social battery while doing your best to stay open-hearted and investing in your friendships and communities that actually like matter and like give something back to you as well.
00:28:32
Speaker
This season will likely make you feel invigorated and alive, but it could also make you feel a little lost. So while rules are definitely necessary in our day to day lives, sometimes rules are meant to be broken and this season is the perfect time to like practice your rebellion, obviously in a safe way. Don't go breaking laws and get arrested and then be like, Tiffany said, because no, Tiffany didn't.
00:28:56
Speaker
Yeah. Do things safely and don't break laws, but also allow yourself to not feel so structured and rigid in your day to day. Embrace those more unusual sides of your personality and spend a little bit of time just like going with the flow. Aquarius Energies help us shift and evolve our structures that allow us to move into what is new and next for our personal evolution.
00:29:21
Speaker
This can be a creative project, trying something new, learning something you've been putting off, or even just through embracing your community while honoring the individual uniqueness of those you surround yourself with. Because Aquarius is an air sign and they're said to be the super social signs of the Zodiac, you could harness this social energy by spending time with your friends and family,
00:29:46
Speaker
And this is kind of going back to what I was talking about earlier. I read that in terms of air signs, like their sociability. The Gemini's focus is on twinning. Libra's are more on like a one-on-one socialization, but
00:30:02
Speaker
that Aquarius is known as the sign for large groups and they fall more in line with the idea that three's company. Like, you know, you always hear like, two's company, three's a crowd, four. And Aquarius, it tends to be like the more the merrier. But like we said, it's more in a
00:30:21
Speaker
acquaintance sort of way. Like they just enjoy the the liveliness of social situations. They don't necessarily want that full-on connection with everyone in that crowd.
00:30:34
Speaker
And during this season, it would also be beneficial to just stay open to radical ideas and what could be seen as like, quote unquote, cutting edge collaborations. And that would be like those kind of situations that start with like, wouldn't it be crazy if we and then fill in the blank. So like, stay like open minded to those because sometimes they could evolve into something bigger that you just weren't expecting. Yeah, I love that.
00:31:02
Speaker
Yeah, I read that and I was like, oh my gosh, that makes like after doing this research, that made so much sense. I was like, I like that idea.

Famous Aquarius Personalities

00:31:12
Speaker
And then, of course, it would not be a Zodiac episode if we didn't end on famous aquariums. So we have Evan Peters, Harry Styles, Tom Hiddleston, Ed Sheeran, Megan Thee Stallion, Shakira, Natalie Dormer, Oprah Winfrey, Alicia Keys, Taylor Lautner, Christian Bale, Kelly Rowland, Isla Fisher, Kerry Washington, Emma Roberts, Michael B. I was laughing because he was like the first one that came up on every list and it was always like the only Aquarius in BTS. He really is like the epitome like even just the way he dresses his style everything. That's one of the things that I just

I didn't even think to mention this and we might've already mentioned it and I don't know because we're both exhausted. So who knows? But one of the things I admire so much about just people who their sun sign is Aquarius and those who embody the entire just energy of Aquarius and what it means to be an Aquarius, they have the best fucking style. And it's like the things that they wear

I don't think I could ever pull it off because it looks so amazing on them. If I tried to wear their style or emulate it in any specific way, like maybe some things could work, but not everything. And the way that they present themselves, it's so confident and it's so like, it just fits. And if I were to try to do that, it would look like I'm a poser or something, you know what I mean? Like you're trying too hard. Yeah, but it just, it's like, it fits perfectly.

Like Harry Styles being on this list. Think of everything he wears. Love it. But if anybody else did it, you'd be like, what are they doing? What are they wearing? But Harry Styles wears it, and I'm like, hi, Daddy. Daddy? What? Daddy? Sorry. It's all right. Daddy? Sorry. And then he randomly catches things, and I'm like, OK. That is Aquarius season.

Hopefully you learned something new. Yes. Hopefully this taught you a lot about all the Aquarians in your life. And giving you a deeper perspective for understanding them. And I can only imagine next month when we get into Pisces season exactly what the cut is going to say. They're going to be like, we're so glad that weird Aquarius season is over. Get ready to cry all month with Pisces season. Get ready to daydream and fucking cry your life away.

That's exactly, I bet you anything has fallen to what it's gonna say. Oh, this is our prediction, guys, and I have not looked it up, so. It's a surprise for all of us.

I love their articles. They're so ridiculous and just out of control, but I love the way they're always like, anyways, last season was a real piece of shit. Get ready for this great season. Right? Wow. When I first started researching for this, that was one of the first articles that popped up and I was like, I'm not even looking at this because I know how much

I love it so much. They're not great information. They might have a piece or two. I know when I did the Capricorn one, they actually had pretty good examples of

Famous people and their energies that like made sense for Capricorn and I was like I like famous Capricorns and their energies and I was like, this is actually perfect but Most of the information in their articles are just like ridiculous and out of control But I they make me laugh. They make me laugh so much. I

I paid for last Zodiac season's article just to be able to read it because apparently I had met my quota for the time being. I forgot about that. I was like, I paid a dollar. It was worth it. It was worth every cent.
