FBI Horror Story Discussion

00:00:01
Speaker
I'm glad you're on this case with me, Anderson. It's right up your alley. The victim was one of their own. FBI Special Agent Robert Nightingale. So you knew our victim? Only the rumors. He was chasing a writer.
00:00:19
Speaker
Someone knew they were here. Was playing a game with them. Killer left the message. It's for us. The text is about us. We were all trapped in a horror story. The horror story wanted us dead.

Introduction to Soapstone Podcast

00:00:41
Speaker
How's it going, everyone? Welcome to another episode of Soapstone. My name is Jake. I'm joined by my co-host is always Dave. How's it going tonight, Dave? Superb. Superb. That's really good. I think. Yeah, it's one of the higher echelons of tears of goodness. I wonder, I know that superb has existed for as a word for a very long time, right? But it really is just the word super with a B attached to it.
00:01:11
Speaker
Yeah, I think somebody was trying to ad lib or maybe they were going to say another word and they were like, let's just stop here with the B and see if anybody accepts that. It was just someone who like attached B to all of their words just to see if they could get something passed and superb just made the cut. They're like, oh, yeah, that's an old old English word. Yeah, for sure.
00:01:35
Speaker
Yeah, we went from cars to having carbs. Um, it's true. It's true. Um, well, I'm glad to hear that you're doing superb.

The Gollum Game & Rings of Power

00:01:44
Speaker
Uh, do you want to elaborate on any particular reason that you are or leave it at that and talk about video games? No, I lied. Okay. But it's the internet, so it's fine. That's fine. If it's, if it's a lie, I won't ask for elaboration. We can go straight into talking about video games. Um, so this is this month in games, right?
00:02:06
Speaker
I mean, he's getting finger guns. I'm doing finger guns over here. I was going to say, I don't know how... I don't know how to translate that to audio. That's going to be going... And then hoping you're imagining me doing the hand gestures.
00:02:19
Speaker
Yeah, May's been a pretty big month, but I mean, obviously we had the PlayStation showcase as recently as yesterday as of recording, right? And that's a pretty big deal. So I think there's going to be a big focus on that. Did you have anything outside of that that you wanted to cover or talk about? So we were just talking about Gollum briefly, which I think was outside of PlayStation. Uh-huh.
00:02:49
Speaker
But holy shit, that looks bad. Yep. I think even looks is maybe being too generous. I think it's a shit game. I don't think it's even a hot take. No, it's not. It's getting dumstered. Talking about reviews, it has a weak critic review on Open Critic.
00:03:11
Speaker
With the top critic average being 43% and only 5% of critics recommending the game so That's the worst game this year, I think actually What you know high praise good job guys I
00:03:36
Speaker
Like there's so much you can do with this universe and setting. And I have to imagine that they just did not get the rights to so much of it. And it just got forced through as something as I think maybe some things do, but maybe just don't do it. I don't, I don't know.
00:03:54
Speaker
I think that's only an excuse for so far, right? I haven't seen The Rings of Power, Amazon show. It sucks. Yeah. Yeah. That's fair. It's not with, hey, the choices that they made for diversity and cat. I don't give a fuck if there are black dwarves. Really don't give a shit.
00:04:15
Speaker
But like they just added so many things that had nothing to do with it were just for the sake of quote-unquote television And that really weakened it I think yeah, and I just stopped watching after a couple episodes cuz I'm like
00:04:31
Speaker
There's a YouTube channel I watch that is basically like, it's almost in that documentary vein. He just talks about Lord of the Rings a lot. So he just has like lower videos and stuff like that called Nerd of the Rings. And he had a review of this show and I was like, self-evaluation time, am I ever gonna watch this?
00:04:52
Speaker
No. Okay. And then I just watched the video of his review, basically. And he's like, he's very fair with it, but had a similar take, maybe a little bit less less hot, but similar take of like, why are you focusing on these characters? It does kind of seem like you guys are preemptively sabotaging Galadriel here. Why is the show not about Elrond? Stuff like that. So.
00:05:14
Speaker
You know. Welcome to Rivendell, Mr. Anderson. God, I love that quote. But no, it's, again, when somebody gets their hands on something that I don't want to say doesn't belong to them, obviously they bought the rights or whatever the fuck.
00:05:30
Speaker
But it's like, hey, how do we make this approachable to a general audience? Not for the audience who specifically cares about Lord of the Rings, the book series of the movies. It's like, how do we make this more approachable to everybody? So they will focus on more minor characters. Oh, somebody has a relationship. I care about these two. I want them to get together, or I hope they can patch up their differences. It's shit like that, the people. And again, the general public, they're like, hey, how do we hook them in?
00:05:59
Speaker
Oh, we need a level of mystery. We need a level of nuance and romance to like appeal to other people. It's just weak shit versus something that's very polished and like, hey, here's the one thing we're doing. Exactly.

Adaptation Rights and Challenges

00:06:12
Speaker
Yeah, you need to have some some focus for it. And I think the other part to the content thing, I do know that the Tolkien estate actually has they have rights to
00:06:26
Speaker
basically a big chunk of the lore, and then there's another chunk that is actually available for people to make shows and things on. And it tends to be like independently licensed. And you can only touch on these characters or this age or some things like that.
00:06:44
Speaker
So I think the Rings of Power is specifically kind of like the fan fictiony area of what happened leading up to the events of the Lord of the Rings from like the Cimarillion, but not the not like the main events of the series that you would really accomplish the stuff that you would consider the Lord of the Rings, right? Because this is all before Sauron and well, Sauron's around, but he hasn't made the Rings of Power. He hasn't enslaved the people stuff like that.
00:07:16
Speaker
Presumably, he makes the Rings of Power. Again, I haven't seen the show. It is what it's named after, so I assume.
00:07:22
Speaker
It's really just golems really disappointing and it doesn't matter. You could take like a crappy medium and make a good game out of it if you just had a good game that you could upslap some theming on and seeing it fail for Lord of the Rings is just stupid because like you could use nobody characters and still make an interesting game if the gameplay was fun. But from what I've seen, it's not gameplay that is. It's just basically a chore.
00:07:50
Speaker
Also, Gollum looks nothing

Video Game Releases and Announcements

00:07:53
Speaker
even close to the Andy Serkis version, so that's also disappointing. You know what it reminded me of though? It reminded me of Mass Effect Andromeda when I saw the Gollum facial animations. And I was like,
00:08:10
Speaker
Dang. That's already kind of unfortunate. Like the uncanny valley of like somebody has technically seen a picture of Gollum, but like their eyes were half closed. It was raining and foggy and it was 20 miles away type thing.
00:08:24
Speaker
Like they had an interesting, so the art style I kind of disagree with, it's a little like exaggerated and cartoony. We're spending too much time talking about this game, I understand. But I will say they had like a cool little take where it's like as you just switching between kind of like the Gollum and Smeagol personalities, his eyes actually appeared to be like different colors. They'd like flash different colors.
00:08:43
Speaker
and I was like that's a cool little idea that's completely buried behind like the actual game and Yeah, it's just a mess if you want to look up a review I saw the I was talking to Dave about the skill up review on YouTube very entertaining to watch and if you guys have ever seen a game or gameplay and Then been like man. I am really glad that I watch this instead of actually playing through the game. This is that a thousand percent and
00:09:12
Speaker
like watching someone engage with the game in this way like as the game demands is boring and it's own right and i was like there's no way this game is even anywhere near playable so sorry take the L come uh come back and try it try a better game in the future maybe take a game design course um
00:09:36
Speaker
Before we talk about the PlayStation games, there were a couple that came out this month that I wanted to at least mention really briefly. We don't have to go deep on them.
00:09:53
Speaker
Most of them I don't really care too much about but Warhammer 40k bolt gun came out And I think scale up had another video on this one if you want to see that I'm just shilling for him apparently in this episode, but it's pretty much It's a boomer shooter
00:10:09
Speaker
And the name is literally, for those who aren't too familiar with Warhammer, it's just like if Doom released a game that was pretty much just like Doom 2 or something, and it was just called Doom Super Shotgun. That's the exact format of the title of this gun, of this game. They just named the game after a gun. And it actually looks super satisfying. I mean, a lot of these modern boomer shooters are in the same vein, but
00:10:41
Speaker
Good 40K games are kind of rare. So we have to take what we can get. Even if it's like a lie with issues. It's kind of like with space games to a degree where there's like so many of them and like very few of them are actually good and kind of hit all the points you would want in a space game.
00:10:58
Speaker
And the, yeah, the genre is just super dilute. It's there's not, I would argue, I would contest. I don't think there's that many space games, but the quality still sucks. Most of the time when the games come out, they still are trash. And so you don't hear about that many of them. Um, but.
00:11:13
Speaker
This one looked pretty good and I'll let people do their own look at that I haven't played it or picked it up I have to get through overkill and Complete the campaign that's been added to that before I pick up another boomer shooter, but love that genre Really good time turn the brain off engage gun and go I Said I was gonna mention a couple games not gonna that's the only one
00:11:35
Speaker
Oh, yeah. But yeah, I mean, the rest of the year has already been packed enough with a bunch of games that come out. So we can take a little bit of a break, I think, for May before we get to some of the games that came out for the PlayStation game show. Show game. I think it's game show. PlayStation Showcase. Showcase. That's the one. Showcase 2023.
00:12:02
Speaker
So I didn't watch this live with everyone else, but my first exposure to this was, um, my wife actually sent me the trailer to Spider-Man. No context. It was just the trailer to Spider-Man. And that's the only one. No comment, anything like that. I was like, maybe it's, is this, is this it? Is it really good? So that's the one at the top of my list. What were your impressions of the Spider-Man 2 trailer?
00:12:28
Speaker
I'll be honest, I missed almost the entirety of Spider-Man. That's right. Do you want me to give you the high level about what happened? Oh, no. I have seen, like, the spark notes. Snippets of it here and there. I said, yeah, especially the spark notes of it. It's basically you get to play as two different characters, Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Yeah. There's also a Venom suit.
00:12:51
Speaker
They also fucking brought back Craven the Hunter, which is such an old one as an antagonist. But from everything I've seen for it, it looks like it's definitely building upon the existing formula, which
00:13:08
Speaker
I mean, honestly, the game Spider-Man after the PS4, it's decent. Again, I'm sure I've talked about it as being very cinematic. Certain parts of it are like, why would I want to do this dumb puzzle thing? Why would I want to do X? Because it's open world.
00:13:25
Speaker
It's a nice blend of going through and then the movement and combat feels really good. That's really where it shines and then also it's, hey, superhero setting, a little bit of suspension of disbelief, go nuts. I feel like this is just going to be better in every way. I'm really hoping. One other thing I've heard is that it's not multiplayer, which it seems like it was initially advertised as that.
00:13:50
Speaker
Is that a follow up question, I guess, before I get to my impressions on it? Is that a pro or a con for you that it's not multiplayer? Neutral. So like for me, I mean, to be fair, my only experience has been single player playing through. Yeah. I could see where it would definitely be fun to be kind of like web slinging with a friend. But I don't think it's necessary.
00:14:18
Speaker
Yeah, I think for me, I would list this actually as a pro because I've just seen too many games fall apart when people went to add multiplayer. And it's pretty much an age-old adage at this point, but you could kick a stick back and forth with friends and have a good time. And sometimes that covers multiplayer experiences, right? It's like, this game is pretty bad. I would not play it with myself. However,
00:14:46
Speaker
with this group of friends goofing off, griefing each other, doing whatever, it becomes a transcendental experience because we could kick a stick around and have a good time, right? But almost without fail, I feel. I mean, there are exceptions out there, but
00:15:02
Speaker
It's very rare that the gameplay component of a game, I feel, gets better for a game that was originally structured as a single player game by introducing more people to it. I think that usually makes the experience worse.
00:15:18
Speaker
If you're coming in from the ground work from the architecture as this is going to be a multiplayer game, that's different. And you can do some really awesome stuff with it, right? It takes two. Good example. Oh yeah, that's literally was designed as that. Exactly. But to that point, it's hard to kind of design for both and have it really work for both.
00:15:41
Speaker
So for larger games, it's like, hey, I'm going to be playing this alone. OK, you can scale the difficulty, right? But everyone's still going to have that multiplayer experience, essentially. So it's hard to balance that in what would be traditionally a single player game, and then also like, hey, your buddy is here. OK. Does it just scale everything? Is it exactly the same? It's harder to navigate, for sure.
00:16:09
Speaker
I will say I want to jump back to the historical where my brain goes for co-op game versus single player experience like and I don't know if it's been improved on significantly since this but Sonic the Hedgehog 2 with just Sonic and Tails running around you could give your little brother the controller if Tails dies he just flies back on screen after a couple seconds
00:16:32
Speaker
and Tails was almost useless jumping around as Sonic he would be a second spin dash basically or jump I can't remember the name of Sonic's jump don't crucify me but when you hit the jump button a second time and you do the little air spin Tails would do the same thing so maybe if you're lucky he would hit a boss occasionally but for the most part giving the controller to your little brother was a trade up
00:16:56
Speaker
And so the game was just better for it. Low commitment, doesn't matter if they screw up good time. If you're playing as Peter Parker in the Venom suit and Miles Morales dies in front of you, the theme is going to be a little bit different, right? So I think it's better that it's not multiplayer because that'll let them further refine the single player.
00:17:19
Speaker
Um, also wanted to give them a shout

Konami's MGS Remake Challenges

00:17:21
Speaker
out. They had like a 10 minute pure gameplay trailer, basically. Um, yeah, that is exceedingly rare these days. It's like, Hey, here's this flashy, uh, thing that we had the marketing team with, uh, with the animators.
00:17:35
Speaker
We'll get back to you on gameplay. Bye. And then it's just it's dead quiet for so long. And we're going to talk. I mean, there's some of the games on this list actually kind of have that a lot. It's just a teaser and it's not going to talk that much about them because it's just not that much to talk about yet. But I will say the graphics, the animations look absolutely choice. Like you could have if they remove the HUD, the whole like Spidey sense prompts and things like that. Some several of the sections that they showed in the gameplay, I would have been like, that's cutting.
00:18:05
Speaker
Like, this is absolutely a cutscene. And it's not, apparently. It's gameplay. And I mean, we've come a long way in graphics, but it looks really good.
00:18:17
Speaker
the last note I have for this and I'm done, I'm done, we can talk about other games. I freaking love Venom. I am like a Venom fanboy and it has been like a famine for me because they got to like the point where they're like, hey, we need to make a Venom movie. They're like, let's get Tom Hardy in there and freaking useless plot or whatever and we'll just throw the whole thing out.
00:18:40
Speaker
And I literally haven't even seen the movies because I just had no interest with the direction it took. There's no way it's good. And then they had Venom and Carnage. And I was like, I love Carnage too, but this movie is just not good.
00:18:56
Speaker
But I'm a sucker for Venom and I'm a sucker for the subtle emotional like manipulation and the kind of like just slowly turns you to the dark side aspect and that's what they're going for with this game based off of the teaser. And I'm like, heck yeah. And the moves look awesome. The Venom moves look legitimately awesome. Yeah, we haven't had Venom since I'm blanking on the actor's name at the moment, but in Spider-Man 3,
00:19:27
Speaker
No, that's why he played Eric on that 70s show. Ah, yeah, but that's your name was wrong. Yeah.
00:19:38
Speaker
Those are the two traditional hosts. Brock Hampton. Brock Sampson. Brock. Brock. Brock. Brockley. Yeah, Brockley. That's it. He's a reporter. He's a jock in Spider-Man universe, so he just gets one name. He's just Brock. Just Brock.
00:19:59
Speaker
of the many trailers. I don't know if it's going to be like an immediate pickup for me, but this is something that is on my radar because it actually looks good. Whereas some of these are just very.
00:20:14
Speaker
But I do want to jump to the next one because time is a commodity. Can I get 30 seconds? 20 seconds. I might not pick this up on launch just because if it's a PS5 exclusive. I didn't actually see anything on this list where I was like, I'm going to buy a PS5 to playlist.
00:20:32
Speaker
That's kind of an early spoiler. So it might come to PC later, at which point I'd probably pick it up, unless something else just really blows it out of the water. And it's like, that's it. I've got to upgrade my hardware. I'm still waiting. I'm hoping that for a lot of these, it will be PS4 and PS5. But I can see them definitely having some that are just exclusive to PS5. Yeah, maybe depending on how intensive a game might be graphically or hardware wise.
00:21:00
Speaker
Definitely want to hold off as long as possible. Motherfucker, Metal Gear Solid 3. They're like, hey, let's remake this. So for anybody who doesn't know, Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater was my first Metal Gear game and my second to last because I only played three and five. But I still treat Dave as an MGS expert. Yes, that's true. Comparatively in our friend group. I'm just like, I don't know. Let me check the lore master for Metal Gear. Would Snake say this?
00:21:32
Speaker
Mm, tasty. But Metal Gear Solid 3 was very much like going through the jungle and killing animals and putting out animal food that had gone bad to make a boss shit themselves, and that's a win condition. I'm glad you finished that sentence instead of just putting out, right? It's very different. Putting out. It was a different time.
00:21:55
Speaker
but it's still very much has a code U.S. is a me a game design stuff it was very fun and interesting and weird on a lot of points to a solid game overall but code U.S. not been with on Konami for a very long time,
00:22:18
Speaker
When he said it, I'm like, OK, he's leaning into it. But yeah, I don't know how it's actually going to turn out. I never want to give Konami money because they can go fuck themselves.

PlayStation's Strategic Impact

00:22:32
Speaker
And they really only released a very brief teaser type trailer and then a couple of screenshots, which is nothing. Yeah. So we don't know actually how it's going to be.
00:22:47
Speaker
it's it's pretty rough to recommend this one right even we had this kind of glut of game companies to potentially boycott and if you're boycotting a game company fine power to you there really wasn't a reason to go back to Konami as far as I was concerned and I mean you always play the original
00:23:07
Speaker
There's no there's no reason to expect that this one should launch and not make you pay for multiple slaves save slots. Right. Like that's that's the issue right now with Konami. Yeah. Is until they prove otherwise suspect that they're going to monetize it out the air because there's I mean, that's what they've done.
00:23:27
Speaker
Yeah, they haven't set a good precedent at this point. And it is weird that they're actually just going back to metal gear fully instead of like trying to do a spin off like before. I think they probably realized how
00:23:45
Speaker
how much of a misstep survive was. Once it financially impacts you to some degree, you've got to develop some awareness of it. That's the only reason I can think. They're going back to this. They've also got to see Capcom going back and remaking Resident Evil very successfully. I think that this is a little bit of a coattail jump.
00:24:11
Speaker
I mean I kind of, I kind of wanted to do decently so that we could be like hey, Metal Gear Solid is actually a good series. I don't want Konami to really bounce back at all, I want them to fucking burn.
00:24:26
Speaker
So you want to see Konami fail before this launches so that Kojima actually just buys the IP from them, assimilates the studio, and then they release it under his guidance. The game will take another 20 years to complete probably, but like...
00:24:42
Speaker
At least it would then be Kojima instead of Konami, right? Yeah, I'd be fine with that. It's very much just like, hey, I remember liking this before. I want to see a more modern version of it. It's again, kind of like the Diablo II remastered. It's just hitting my nostalgia in the G-spot. I'm like, ooh, I like this. But again, I can watch it from afar and still get the same appreciation. Yeah.
00:25:07
Speaker
That's where I'm probably at. I also don't know, realistically, if this game were to release currently right now, would I play it? Mindset. I mean, I don't have too much interest, to be completely honest, in going through that sort of gameplay loop. I would watch the whole thing on YouTube. I'd put it that way.
00:25:28
Speaker
Yeah, I would not be rushing out the gate to buy this. I have a lot more interest in Spider-Man than this, but I mean, admittedly, I'm on the side of the MGS fandom that's like, Metal Gear Rising, Revengeance, is the best they've ever done.
00:25:44
Speaker
Mmm, which is to say I'm not in the fandom. They don't let me go to conventions So I will say separately and I'll keep it very vague to not talk to myself There's a convention that I'm going to in like a month probably just like a day but David Hader is like you can sign up to like do an autograph or something and
00:26:06
Speaker
Mm-hmm, which I'm not gonna do because it would cost money but again, I'll always respect David Hader for being Fucking snake. Oh, yeah. Mm-hmm
00:26:18
Speaker
the whole deal with five. We'll have an episode at five someday. Once we both happen to be fired at the same time, not quit, we're going to be fired at the same time and we just have an infinite time to play video games, we'll be like, oh, let's just play through MGS5 again and have an episode on it. But that's about how much free time it would take to get through that game. So it's a bit of a chore. Yeah.
00:26:40
Speaker
Um, but yeah, that would be a snake eater. We will see how that one turns out and let you guys know if there's more development. Um, PlayStation announced a dedicated game streaming device. Um, it was nicknamed Project Q. My brain just goes to Star Trek when I hear that, but I have basically.
00:27:03
Speaker
No interest in this device? I think zero. What's your take? I mean, I didn't get a Steam Deck. I already have a Switch.

Assassin's Creed & Alan Wake 2

00:27:13
Speaker
I mean, I'm not surprised other companies are like, hey, we need a mobile thing. So cool, I guess. I don't know. I'm very neutral, because it's not for me. Yeah, that's exactly right. This is us reviewing something that was not made for us, I guess.
00:27:30
Speaker
Um, it's really cool that they can do it with just, just streaming it. Right. That's like modern wifi, good enough. Transfer rate. Stream it to a mobile device. That's pretty cool. Um, but the bigger takeaway from me was they were saying that this uses remote play and I was like, okay, immediately Google, can you remote play to PC? And it's like, yes, you can. I was like, follow up Google. Why have I not used remote play? Right. Um,
00:27:55
Speaker
So the underlying technology that already existed was actually the news for me in this. But I mean, if you if you're a big PlayStation gamer and you want to like play in bed or something like that, this would be, you know, potentially potentially cool for you. Right. It's pretty much like what you already have for the Nintendo Switch, to be completely honest. You just like freaking grab the console and go. But there's a difference between the games for the switch and the games for
00:28:24
Speaker
the games for PlayStation. Oh, yeah, for sure. Tears of the Kingdom also came out jumping back two seconds. That one came out. I'm not going to talk about it. I own it. I have not played it. I have not played it, but the memes look funny. The memes look very funny. Dragula, in particular, is a great precursor. If you see if you hear that start playing when you're watching a tick tock, you know, it's going to be good. I feel like just a good meme song.
00:28:51
Speaker
It's just a it's a great song to listen to, to be honest. Next up was Assassin's Creed Mirage. That's apparently coming out in October. Do you care about this game, Dave? I've never given a fuck about Assassin's Creed. The series sucks. Yeah, like it was kind of interesting at two. Well, like the first time I had like touched an Xbox 360, but it's the same shit. They just keep shilling out and they don't do anything to improve it. And it's not interesting to me. Yeah.
00:29:21
Speaker
So I've just been over it for so many years. I think you basically have to be in a similar group to a sports fan game. Sports fans buy video games that come out year by year, and you almost have to be in a similar level of commitment in order to really follow Assassin's Creed. Because that's basically the release cadence they have.
00:29:45
Speaker
They have multiple studios working on them. Like you said, the gameplay doesn't usually change appreciably. They just do a lot of work. I mean, credit to all of the work they do for like getting accurate locales and historical data and all that stuff. But they've also done it since the beginning, so it's nothing new.
00:30:02
Speaker
And yeah, I mean, I really enjoyed Assassin's Creed 2 and I was like, how many other games exist? And it's like freaking 20 of them. I'm like, are any of them different? Like we added boats at one point. You play as an Indian in this one, Native American. You're like, those are cool, I guess.
00:30:22
Speaker
I don't know. Neat. Yeah. This is not meant to be a personal dig if you enjoy Assassin's Creed. Good on you. I know they get decent reviews, but it's more stretched than Far Cry is at this point. So yeah. Shots fired. Shots fired. Next one. Alan Wake 2. This October, that's not that far away, Dave. How do you feel about that announcement?
00:30:53
Speaker
I am more interested in Alan Wake 2, because Alan Wake 2 is at least interesting. They haven't really shown much of the gameplay, at least for how the first game ended and what they're showing in this trailer. You're at least not starting out as playing Alan Wake. I assume at some point he becomes a playable character, otherwise it'd be a very weird take on the game.
00:31:16
Speaker
But again, what they said in the place story and universe wise, I am invested and interested. Maybe they'll explain that crossover with control at some point. I hope so. You know, it's a funny crossover they had here while you mentioned crossover. One of the actors is one of the people who's been doing mocap is definitely the exact same person who plays Max Payne in the originals. Not like the newest Max Payne. But like I was looking at him, I was like,
00:31:47
Speaker
That is the guy, right, Max? What is Max Payne's name? Also, what is Remedy's thing with always naming their games after the protagonist? But yeah, it was pretty good. I think he's either a member of the studio or just a family friend or something.
00:32:08
Speaker
It was very hilarious seeing Max Payne in one of the cutscenes for Alan Wake's, too. Yeah. Also, this would be an interesting one, too, because in Alan Wake 1, it's like the initial game. You don't really know too much about what's going on. But at the end of 1, you know the rules to a degree, right? Basically, whatever is being written in that house comes to be. So Alan needs to write his way out of the situation.
00:32:35
Speaker
So who are these characters who are showing up? People that he has written into the story, basically. But how does he get himself and these other characters out alive? Yeah. And that was the that was the open conceit right at the end of we had an episode on Alan Wake, actually. You guys can go back and check that out if you want.
00:32:54
Speaker
Uh, it really does change the narrative,

Final Fantasy Series Discussion

00:32:56
Speaker
right? It seems like there's two detectives, I think is what it appeared to be, um, that are kind of investigating this. They're running across the manuscript pages that Alan is writing and it includes them. That was what the teaser tells us. Um, and Alan stuck in the dark place doing his, uh, his little typewriter thing. Um, so we'll see.
00:33:18
Speaker
where they go with it, I think it takes an entirely different tool set to continue a story after.
00:33:27
Speaker
It takes an entirely different toolset to continue a story after a reveal, which was what occurred in one, than it does to build up to a reveal. Because when you're building up to a reveal, the audience is very accommodating of twists and piece of information that may or may not be relevant, et cetera, et cetera. But once you have that core focus, you got to be careful because season two wraps around and it's like, are we still touching on the things that were important in one?
00:33:56
Speaker
If not, you have to have a good reason as to why. And if it's something new that you're introducing, you need to have a good reason that we're paying attention to that instead, right? So that's the struggle, I think. We'll see how they do this, October. All I'm saying is Barry better fucking be in it. Such a good side character.
00:34:18
Speaker
For sure. And remedies, remedies doing pretty hot. I mean, obviously we did control. I think our first sponsored episode. You mentioned the crossover there, so. Yeah, I hope they do well. Next one up was Final Fantasy 16. Did you have any interest in this? Any hot takes from the trailer?
00:34:43
Speaker
I mean, it looks really good. It does. From the trailer they had way back where it's like, hey, here's magic and like some OG summons. I'm like, I'm interested.
00:34:55
Speaker
Again, definitely want to check up if it's not PS5 exclusive, but I'm hoping that this will be better than 15. That's all. That's all I want. I mean, it's likely to be a delayed exclusive, right? Probably going to come to PS5 first and then come out to other consoles later. If the question was, does it come to four? I don't know.
00:35:17
Speaker
I guess we'll see. I think that they're probably reaching the phase because the PS5 has been out for a couple of years now. They're probably reaching the phase of its life cycle where they don't really want publishers to be releasing the game on for to further push people into buying the hardware for five. Yeah. And now that theoretically five is more accessible than it was at launch.
00:35:37
Speaker
I haven't really looked into it, but I assume it's gotten better, right? Yes, it must have. There's there was only you could only go automatically. It has to from this is an inaccessible console. If I had a gripe about this Final Fantasy and probably Final Fantasy in general, it's that any time that they say if it's name, they say if read and like.
00:36:02
Speaker
There's no way that those letters make an E, like a long E sound. Like it doesn't make any sense. There's probably an umlaut over it or something. It's like I... Oh my gosh, I'm trying to spell something out in real time. I'm gonna type it as I go. It's like...
00:36:19
Speaker
I F R I T Where's the e sound right like it's like I don't get it I think it's literally just cuz we're like they gotta have an English actions or something like that But in what case does a lowercase? A short I become a long e I don't freaking
00:36:35
Speaker
Game looks good. Also, they had some armor and stuff like that, which kind of reminded me of Dark Souls for a second. I was like, that's our thing. That's pretty good. I will say Final Fantasy is designed for armor and enemies and characters. Always very much good high fantasy and gothic, which I love. How tall is Pauldrons? Taller, taller.
00:37:02
Speaker
I also like that the graphics have kind of gotten good enough that the summons are, they have identity at this point. I hadn't played that many Final Fantasy games, but I played like seven, and I played the MMO 14, and I saw the trailer for this, and I was like, oh geez, Geruda has basically the same, is it Geruda, Geruda?
00:37:26
Speaker
Yeah. My brain is getting it confused right now. It's like, is this the legend of Zelda? All female group. I think Gerudo. Yeah. It's Gerudo in final fantasy. Um, and it's like, Oh, that's really the same model, just like higher res and stuff. That's really cool. I like that they have some consistency there. Um, yeah, she looked different, but that's okay. Uh, next one I think is literally just for me.

Anticipation for Upcoming Games

00:37:49
Speaker
So I'm going to be brief dragons dogma too. I put some time into one and it was a fun RPG. Hopefully this one's good.
00:37:56
Speaker
I will say it looks very pretty, but I also did not grow up on dragon's dogma. Yes. Dragon's dogma, dark arisen was like a long form freaking RPG and it was made for RPG nerds. Um, not like Pathfinder, but it's pretty, pretty ridiculous. Um, and it just had a lot of freedom, a lot of bunch of cool stuff. So I'm glad that they're, they're keeping it going. I think it's been over 10 years or 10 years since the previous game came out. So we'll see what they've been doing in that time.
00:38:24
Speaker
But the next one, next one had me feeling things. This is what I messaged you, by the way. Bungie Marathon, new marathon.
00:38:35
Speaker
Yes. And not a remake. This is Bungie's original IP before they did Halo. And after Halo 5, they're like, fuck. We added a grapple and that wasn't fun enough. People are losing interest in Halo, and they also had a lot of poor decisions with multiplayer in that direction. What do we do? What do we... Oh.
00:38:58
Speaker
People like marathon, right? Well, they had some destiny in there in the middle, but... Don't count destinies really being like... I wouldn't put it on my resume, is all I'm saying. Oh, no. Ian listens to this. Don't say such things. Don't talk such rot, to quote an oblivion NPC.
00:39:19
Speaker
But yeah, the trailer looks really freaking good. And just putting an ear to the sound design, there's this there's a drop towards the end where like the title actually comes out and they've got this. It's a very popular song. I cannot remember the name of it. But basically, you know, Electro House or something like that track. And it's just so freaking good. It's justice, by the way.
00:39:44
Speaker
It's justice. Okay, there you go. I was like, I have to know what this is. I've heard it. I just can't put a name to it, but that makes sense.
00:39:53
Speaker
But yeah, the trailer actually, it's really, so I played the original marathon games, at least one of them, when they kind of ported them to PC. And this was early, early years. And it was basically Doom, to be honest. It was basically Doom, but like a little bit better in gameplay. Doesn't say much, right? Because that was a pretty core loop back then. Yeah.
00:40:16
Speaker
Um, but this doesn't look anything like that. It looks like they're going to completely different direction. There's like some synthetic, uh, people who are hunting someone, perhaps the protagonist, hard to say. Uh, it looks incredibly colorful.
00:40:33
Speaker
Uh, it kind of reminds me actually of like the color scheme of some of the brighter games like anthem. Okay. Um, and yeah, no, it just looks really good. It's all teaser though. It's like a hundred percent teaser. Uh, it says here in this post that the game is going to be PvP focused and it's not going to have a single player campaign. Interesting. Okay. So we don't know if it's going to be like a team shooter or.
00:41:00
Speaker
arena battle royale anything like that we don't really know yet but one of the better trailers for sure they have anytime you play one of the best justice songs over your footage I'm like damn it does play pretty well
00:41:15
Speaker
Uh-huh. I mean, they had the visuals and the music. And I mean, if you got a teaser, that's literally all you have to work with. So let's make sure that lands. It works as generating hype for sure. Yes, for sure. And I know it doesn't work for generating hype. Sorry, I'm excited for this. I don't know what it's going to be, but we'll keep our eye on it. What doesn't work for generating hype?
00:41:41
Speaker
Street Fighter 6. That's true. I don't really have anything to say about that. I don't know. I'm not a Street Fighter person and everything that really showed. I mean, like graphics really does look pretty good, but to me, nothing else does.
00:42:02
Speaker
The only thing I know about this game is that there was a minor controversy because they apparently gave Chun-Li leggings and the community took great offense at this. So I don't know, chase that one down if you want, if you're invested in that story.
00:42:21
Speaker
I mean, it's no Smash Ultimate, let's be honest. Street Fighter, it's an okay game, but it's never been big, really. I'm just saying, Mortal Kombat is so far ahead that they literally wrapped back to one, and Street Fighter's on like seven or something. Nobody cares, nobody cares.
00:42:43
Speaker
I will say it wasn't in PlayStation's specifically, but WB Games also did release a trailer for Mortal Kombat 1, which looks really nice. Again, it's a teaser, just cinematic, not actually in game. Yeah, but I feel like they're trying to go for a more of a realistic fighter, more so than they have been, which I mean, they always have been working towards it. Yes, Mortal Kombat. Okay.
00:43:12
Speaker
I think they want to have more good graphical fidelity similar to Tekken. And Street Fighter's very like, we're cartoons. You're like, OK.
00:43:24
Speaker
Yeah, they have a they have a specific kind of cell shaded art style. I don't actually know. I again, I'm not a big fan of this. So my opinion carries zero weight. Just discount it in the wind just vaporizes. I kind of like Street Fighter has their own thing going on, though. Not every game needs to be hyper realistic. They kind of took the the arcadey graphics and then they just moved to like cel shaded off of that and they introduced the whole like
00:43:51
Speaker
I don't know, like shadow flare effect, specifically for for ultimate, you know, the moves where you do like a shadow kick or something that stuns somebody. Oh, yeah, yeah, they have like that little flare on top of the cel shading art style. But I like that they have their own thing going on. They don't need to change it. But this is a game for Street Fighter fans, as is often the case when a game comes out in a fighting game series. So not a lot to say about it.
00:44:18
Speaker
So what's next on this list? This is the next game I'm going to skip because I have nothing to say about it. TTP2. It's coming out this year. We don't know when. You'll remember TTP1, right? We always called it TTP. So what do you want to say about the Talos principle?
00:44:39
Speaker
The Talos Principle, we always talk about so many times as being a good, immersive puzzle game and interesting and I'm gonna keep saying immersive as many times as I can. It's one that I really get into. It's like immersively immersive. Yeah, it's like if you're being immersed, it's kind of like that.
00:44:59
Speaker
But I just really got a kick out of it and enjoyed playing through and like the story implications and the puzzles. And I enjoyed getting being frustrated and then pushing past and figuring things out and maybe even looking up a thing or two to get these stars. But it just looks really good. And they're like, hey, here's two. And the trailer for it just looks really cool. And I'm like, I'm very excited to see what they do.
00:45:24
Speaker
If there was something, if there was two things I could say I didn't like about the Talos Principle one. The first one is that some of the locales started to get pretty samey. And it's kind of like this is kind of something you could throw together in the Source Engine, which it might have been actually. It might have been a Source Engine game. I say it. And then the second game, or the second thing I had issue with was that the game had puzzles. That one, there's not a lot I could do.
00:45:51
Speaker
But the locales and the teaser for this, they look really good. And some of it actually I think is actual gameplay. But it looks super fantastical, like this high level overview of all this extravagant kind of I'm going to say like angelic clockwork architecture almost. And it's just it's so cool. It's such a good vibe.

Artistic and Emotional Game Experiences

00:46:17
Speaker
So looking forward to that.
00:46:22
Speaker
Welcome child to my garden. Oh, chill. That's if I say it sounds weird, right? And people are like, why are you going to have a garden? Leave my kid alone. Uh huh. But yeah, we're excited to see more about that. That one's a big one. I'm going to skip Foam Stars unless you care about it at all.
00:46:45
Speaker
I think it's worth mentioning, at least because somebody made a joke that like, hey, it'll be like Splatoon, but with maybe decent netcode. Oh, no, because it's not Nintendo. Yeah, maybe. Yeah. Well, it's also Square Enix, though, so it's going to be monetized out the A. So we'll see. I would like to see it do well because it's a new thing in that space. I don't really have anything against at this point, but time will tell.
00:47:13
Speaker
Yeah, we'll see where it's at. They didn't have, I don't think they had a video. Maybe they had to, they mentioned there's gameplay. I didn't see the gameplay in my preview, so we'll see. They do if you look at the IGN trailers on YouTube, or if you just look at recording at the PlayStation Showcase, it will. Gotcha, okay. I missed out on that, but again, we'll see where it goes with Splatoon. Heavily influenced by that. The characters almost look like squid lanes in human format, so we'll see.
00:47:42
Speaker
And then you got the plucky squire. This one seemed like maybe one that you would take a look at. What were your impressions of the plucky squire? So I was vaguely aware of it from a while back because I think there was like a small E3 or game showcase.
00:48:00
Speaker
You're like, actually, this looks kind of good. I'm like, OK, I skipped over that. Let me go back and look. And for some parts of it, it just seems very like 2D about to give a shit. And it goes into 3D toy mode, which gave me very much It Takes Two vibes, which I love a good toy type design in 3D games. Like I loved when they did the Zelda remake. So I would love to play this. I'd love to see it do well, honestly.
00:48:28
Speaker
Yeah, are you still on board with it since you were the one who initially told me about it the plucky squire? Mm-hmm. Yeah, I mean it still looks like a very really good game Again it takes to is a perfect comparison Link's awakening really good comparison like when they absolutely nailed the style right when it's just like
00:48:51
Speaker
They're no longer approximating, which is something you can't really reach, I feel like, if you're trying to make a realistic style game. It's like you can't make it lifelike, and so you actually kind of want to make it in a different direction. But if they're going for a different aesthetic, cell shading, something like the isometric view, what is it?
00:49:09
Speaker
tilt pan style game tilt shift tilt shift that's the one redshift it's a racing game then they can they can nail it and this one looks really freaking good right it almost reminds me of kind of like a paper Mario aesthetic combined with some of that plasticky shiny aesthetic at different times and it's just
00:49:32
Speaker
I don't know much else about the game. I know it's an adventure game rather than just a side scroller, which gets me a little bit more interest to answer your question, but, um, but I will say like Talos principle gets my imagination going and like a constructive puzzle solving type of way. Whereas this just appeals to like my childlike sense of wonder, like, Oh, I can just get lost and go on an adventure. This seems like perfect for that.
00:49:59
Speaker
This is a candy store. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. It definitely is. And I'm a kid and I'm stealing everything. There's a lot of bottles that people don't even make anymore. Whereas Talos Principle is like a kid in a university bookstore. There's so much knowledge here and I don't have any of it. I feel like I need a lot of it, but I'm not sure what. How much does textbooks cost? Oh, buyback though. No, the game's longer than two hours. Can't do buyback. Okay.
00:50:30
Speaker
Yeah, we'll see how that one is
00:50:32
Speaker
There's kind of a list of games I'm gonna probably group together or not talk about too much. Phantom Blade Zero was mentioned as like hack and slash type game. Graphically it looked okay to me, but I didn't really have any interest to. If it's just like you're a samurai, this is an action game, I need more than that at this point. So I will say like design wise, graphics wise, looks amazing. Yes, very good. I'm not getting a good feel for the actual gameplay in it, because they haven't shown any.
00:51:02
Speaker
Well, I think they literally did have some gameplay for this one, unless I'm confusing it with another samurai action game that was listed here. So they didn't show any UI in it, so it might have been some gameplay and I just wasn't aware.
00:51:20
Speaker
It does look good, but yeah, same boat. I mean, you're competing against second row, basically. If you make a game like this, you're competing against another play through of second row. So good luck. Um, also good luck. I hope they do well. Uh, ghost runner two.
00:51:35
Speaker
Yeah, it's announced for this year. Yeah, I've talked about I've talked about how I don't think you should get your hopes up if a game is announced for a year instead of a month. Yeah. Because those are likely to be pushed. Right. But it's freaking good. Like it's Ghost Runner.
00:51:57
Speaker
Yeah, so there are certain categories of games where it's like, oh, that's not usually my genre type of thing. But I think we both enjoyed Mirror's Edge on the whole. And then I forget how I came across Ghost Driver. I'm like, I'm actually enjoying how it looks, how it feels. And then somebody like the race against time or your friend's aspect. I'm like, OK. And then some other people got on board. And it's just surprisingly fun. Yeah.
00:52:26
Speaker
So when they announced the second one, I was like, Oh, hell yeah, I'd love to see what they did. But now they actually have that this sweet trailer. I'm even more interested. Apparently, there's even sections with a motorcycle. Yeah, they actually a good chunk of it seemed to be traversal with the motorcycle and it wasn't all just like in a cut scene. It seemed like it's going to be part of the
00:52:48
Speaker
part of the system we don't know to what extent but yeah Ghostrunner is cyberpunk 3d hotline Miami and how could that ever be a miss for me so this looks like it the start of the trailer is you basically breaking out of a tower into a much
00:53:09
Speaker
different locale, kind of this more kind of dystopian world. So I don't know if there's going to be a big time skip or if this is going to be thematically tied to the first. They kind of actually did have a story going on in the first one, so I expect it's going to be a true sequel, but we'll have to learn more about that sometime this year, hopefully. If not, then sometime next year, hopefully. Fingers crossed.
00:53:36
Speaker
Um, I'm going to skip health drivers. Uh, sort of the C looks kind of cool, but it also just reminds me of, uh, what's the, um, journey journey. Yeah. I was going to say the game with the scarf and you actually nailed it before. Here's the thing. It's made by the same people. Okay. Yeah. Well, they also made a, a C one. Hmm.
00:54:04
Speaker
I'm like squid Abzu Abzu, okay Yeah, yeah, that's right. They're pretty exploration games but like for me Mm-hmm the only reason I picked up journeys because it was like so highly touted like oh, it's really good and I checked it out I'm like, it's fine So I don't know if I got in just too late or if I missed something. I
00:54:26
Speaker
Yeah. I think that I'm glad that these games exist, but they're basically art showcases. Yes. And that's not bad. And that can honestly be a super relaxing experience, but.
00:54:40
Speaker
I mean, I don't have much to say about it, right? You either enjoy that or you don't. Similar vein, GRIS, developers that made GRIS are releasing NEVA. I have a joke here. It's nice of them to name the game after the amount of time it's going to take me to buy the game and play it. It's NEVA.
00:55:05
Speaker
Yeah, I watched a video that made the exact same joke. Oh, really? The exact same joke. OK. I did play through Gris. And again, it's like people said some nice things about it, but it's just an art showcase. And I think more was touted on like, how does this make you feel? And I'm like, it's a feel. It's no. But it didn't make me feel in the way that like some other games have like inside. Yeah.
00:55:33
Speaker
I think that's part of the gripe I have with this. If we were going to have an episode on this type of game, it's so subjective that for some people it's going to be nothing. And that was kind of where I ended up being. This trailer is literally just like...
00:55:48
Speaker
Big wolf dies. Girl is sad. Small wolf girl try to comfort each other. I was like, that's really sad. It doesn't mean anything to me. Right. I don't know. Right. I have more of an emotional attachment to the Sith boss fight than I do this trailer. So yeah, but presumably if you enjoyed Gris, you'll probably like never. But this trailer did not show any gameplay at this time. Mm hmm.
00:56:17
Speaker
You good if we skip Cat Quest? I don't have much to say about it. I can skip everything else on this list. Okay. If I'm being honest. I'm gonna skip this just because of the name. This is on you developers. Don't name your game Pirates of the Peruvian. That's it. That's the last word you get. Towers of Aghsaba, I think it's pronounced. I don't like that last word because I don't know how to say it. This one actually looked... Aghsaba? Okay, I like that. That sounds confident.
00:56:45
Speaker
This one I like. I wouldn't skip this one. It looks like it's multiplayer,

New Game Teasers and Showcase Impressions

00:56:49
Speaker
actually. They don't show it in the trailer, but it's a kind of like build survival crafty, maybe heal the land. We don't know what the core conceit is going to be, I think of the game yet, but it looks graphically very impressive. There's some underwater sections that kind of remind me of like the Horizon Forbidden West style of like, oh, you can dive underwater and it looks really nice now. And I'm not used to survival games actually being able to nail that. So.
00:57:16
Speaker
I'm not entirely sure what kind of survival game it is yet and that's gonna determine whether I opt in or not, but It definitely looks very competently competent graphically. Yeah
00:57:31
Speaker
Um, yeah, and I'm in a similar boat. I'm going to skip many of the upcoming games. Uh, a lot of them are just VR games. Uh, or it's kind of like, this is just an anime game. Um, there was a trailer for fire walks, Concord, which.
00:57:51
Speaker
I like the comment, one of the comments I saw on it, it's just, it's just a teaser. And there's literally a burger that's shaking at some point and someone's like, this is a nothing burger of a teaser with a literal burger in it. And I thought that was very funny. And then yeah, I mean, that's, that's actually most of it. Um, there's some other games we didn't cover, but for the most part, I didn't have anything to say. Excuse me, geez. I have hiccups or something. I didn't have anything to say about them.
00:58:18
Speaker
What were your overall impressions of the showcase?
00:58:23
Speaker
Compared to a lot of other things I've seen, usually I'm only picking out one or two of like, oh, that looks kind of cool. And this actually had a multitude of things in comparison where I'm like, oh, that is something I do want to check out at some point, whether I get it for myself or watch somebody else play through it. Also, shout out to Blasphemous 2. I enjoy Blasphemous 1, even though I always forget the name of that game. But like Spanish, Gothic, Metroidvania.
00:58:50
Speaker
Mm hmm. Looks very Spanish, Spanish side scrolling Dark Souls, I think is what I had to Google search when it was in Guess the Game. I could not remember the name of it. It's like, right. Blasphemous. Gotcha. Yeah, it wasn't obviously as tied to the hardware announcements. But again, if you're a PlayStation fan and you're like need something portable, that's a very fun addition as well. Oh, yeah.

How about you overall? Because I know you're in my camp of you have a PS4. The camp dwindles every day. People vanish in the night. I'll go to sleep in our bedrolls. We wake up. Several of them are empty. Who knows what's going on? The PS5 camp grows larger, but we'll see.

Yeah, I have the pretty much the same impressions. I did not expect a lot of time when these game shows happen. I'm expecting like, please, please just give me like gameplay for a game that I actually care about. And PlayStation is kind of in the interesting position that they they hit multiple games that I'm actually very interested in, maybe not buying at launch. Some of them absolutely buying at launch. And then obviously a bunch of.
01:00:04
Speaker
Games made for other people. We'll just say it that way. But the weird thing for me almost is like there's a pretty good split of games that I'm like, oh, that's kind of really good. I'm interested in that. And that's probably going to be a PlayStation exclusive and also games like Ghost Runner 2, for instance, where I'm just like, I there's no way that's a console exclusive. That's going to come out to like the big three pretty much immediately.

And so it's kind of funny getting that news from the PlayStation Showcase, right? Which means I know that there's just some deals in the back where they're like, hey, we'll give you some sum of money if you announce your game with us, because it makes us look better, right? Yeah, for sure. But it's funny to me, right? Because maybe if you weren't as invested in the world of video games as we are, that would build a stronger relationship between PlayStation and Ghostrunner.
01:01:00
Speaker
But there is no relationship between PlayStation and Ghostrunner, as far as I know. So, like, I'm not really... I don't give them credit for that, right? It's not gonna make me go out and buy a PSVR. No. Also, I'd probably end up throwing up if that were the case. Uh-huh.
01:01:18

Gosh, it would be so intense. It would be really, it would be really bad. It's probably going to be a thing. I didn't look at their PSVR games, but I'm sure that there are some in there that are. Well, interestingly enough, and we kind of skipped over it because this isn't our wheelhouse, but Resident Evil 4 is getting a free DLC of VR for the remake, which I thought was interesting.
01:01:41
Speaker
That is cool. It's almost the perfect game for VR, though, right? Like you can just stand in place, have a little controller for moving yourself on the side, and then the other one for throwing hatchets or whatever the crap you do in that game. Use gun. I think it's all hatchets. I don't think Leon has any bullets. He's a fan favorite for a reason. That's because he's different. But yeah, I mean,
01:02:11
Speaker
We'll see where that goes. I don't think we've had a VR episode, but it's because I can't talk about Beat Saber for that long. And I'll call it beat hazard like 50,000 times before actually identifying it as Beat Saber. It took actual strength of will to not screw up on it just now. So, um, yeah.
01:02:32
Speaker
I have to beat hazard if you want to play your music and for whatever reason, you don't like. My brain is now going to say Line Rider, which I know is wrong. Audio surf. Audio surf. It has been years since I played them. There is a second audio surf. I think there's a second beat at this point. Yeah. What? I know. Right. Um.
01:02:55
Speaker
Yeah, it's been a hot minute since that. I remember playing beat hazard. I know we played beat hazard at one point. I think I also maybe I remember literally using Dropbox. Yes. And we would just drop music into Dropbox because we had to both have the file. Completely legitimate. We had our own CDs, our own copies, obviously. But yeah, it was fun. Good times. Get that into VR. Then we'll have a good time.

If you guys have some other things that you'd like to suggest for VR or your own takeaways from the showcase, maybe something that wasn't mentioned that you think should have been, you can feel free to send that in to soapstonepodcast.com or you could join the discussion on Facebook at facebook.com slash soapstonepodcast. And as always, we'll see you in the next one.
