Brian Reynolds, his transfer to Juventus, although he's going to spend the rest of the season at Bonavento.
Speaker: Dallas, their ownership group, Hunt Sports Group, their owner Dan Hunt is close to Dan Freakin, the owner of Roma. They essentially reached out to Dan Freakin and Roma and said, hey, we have this very interesting player. He's starting to garner interest from Europe. If you can find an agreement with him and his agent on a contract offer, we will give you first priority in signing him.
Speaker: And that is something that was floated out to Roma in early November. And then in late November, just a few weeks later, Dan Freakin and his son Ryan, Roma's vice president, they returned to the United States for the first time since acquiring the club. And they met with Dallas regarding this deal. They essentially opened negotiations with Reynolds and his agent.
Speaker: Now, they thought that a deal, or at least a contract agreement could get done fairly quickly, but that turned out not to be the case. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into almost one month, and in that time you had Juve enter the race, and it got to the point where Roma were in an auction more or less.
