Yankees' Blowout Win Against Dodgers
00:00:29
Speaker
So the the Yankees did it. They.
00:00:37
Speaker
In a blowout win.
00:00:40
Speaker
eleven four they finally showed up ah no it took the bullpen it only took the bullpen game to do it yeah that's not great that that's not great that's not bode well for tomorrow this is the game that if the Dodgers were going to lose this is the one that they would want to lose they had a lead the Yankee yeah the Yankees it'll take this as a new lease on life they don't got to, they don't need to care about match ups. Whatever psychological element goes into facing one guy versus the other guy or where you are and what you need to do. If you're one part of the lineup at this point, it's just about producing the line going and playing for the guy ahead of you behind you and the, the logo on your cap. It's it's go time.
Aaron Judge's Stellar Performance
00:01:37
Speaker
yeah um... and we had uh... i i i guess just for uh... transparency i did not watch this game um... because i've just been enjoying my vacation i'm sorry just enjoying my vacation uh... but like looking at the box scores looks like oh my god uh... judge finally got a hit yeah it was he there it was a dicey hit was a dicey hit Well, hey, it's a hit and maybe that's what it maybe that unlocked it. ah He also got a walk. No strikeouts this time. Well, he goes two for three, two runs, one RBI, one walk, so good for him. Home run. Yep.
00:02:27
Speaker
um Who else is there? There's Soto. He goes one for four, two strikeouts. It's not great, but hey, it's OK. Eleven four.
Lineup Concerns & Team Motivation
00:02:38
Speaker
Uh, I know that we were not very, uh, pleased with last night. Um, yeah and I was also very disturbed and very concerned when I saw that the lineup had not changed as anyone should be. Yeah. Uh, I don't know how I feel. Like, I feel like, I don't know. We've we've been saying this the entire post season for the Yankees, the,
00:03:09
Speaker
You know, just like, oh, maybe this is the one where a Judge figures it out. no Yeah. But there there there is a real possibility that this is the one that can fire the team up. You know, with it being a blowout like this. um Because they let that first loss define who they were. Very is very much, which is kind of too many games. So.
00:03:39
Speaker
Yeah, which is kind of insane because I figured it was like, OK, you know, once it goes in extra innings, it's. Don't think about it that that much, right? But it seems like they did. And hopefully this can turn them around. Hopefully it's not too late, but like it is.
2016 Prediction of Yankees' World Series Win
00:03:56
Speaker
ah Do you see that some guy back in 2016 predicted 2024 World Series? Yes. Yeah, I saw that tweet. It was like 2024 World Series.
00:04:07
Speaker
Dodgers, Yankees, Yankees win game four in a blowout. Like, OK. That's scary. um I guess what if a guy can make a prediction like that, who's to say how likely a three nothing comeback is in comparison? ah The Dodgers are prone to a three nothing comeback, right? In the World Series? Yeah. I don't think it's ever happened before.
00:04:38
Speaker
I think everyone's been saying like that. Yeah, this has never happened before That'd be so funny if they lost it Yeah, okay nevermind yeah, you're right um
00:05:04
Speaker
And it's looking good for the
Rarity of a World Series Comeback
00:05:05
Speaker
Yankees. Just looking at this quick little stat that teams taking a three Oh lead have gone to on to win the World Series 39 out of 40 times. What's the outlier? Yeah. Hey, it's just this doesn't happen. Yeah. Uh, no, it's just that. Yeah. Is it just that this, uh, the Dodgers haven't put it away yet? Is that why they're counting this year? No, no, they're not counting this year. Yeah.
Fan Interference Incident with Mookie Betts
00:05:32
Speaker
oh Yes, 39 out of 41 or 40 out of 41 But we'll see I Don't know what you want to talk about that that blatant fan interference with Mookie That was really funny. That was I I turn off The commentators on Fox and I put John Boy on another tab. And that's how I've been watching the game. Yeah. They were laughing for a good like minute straight when that was going down. it It was so as as the gyms either say out of pocket.
00:06:16
Speaker
Like there's there's one thing about reaching over right over this over the the scene area to Yeah. Try and grab the ball, but like the fact that you are trying to rip it out of the dude's hand. Was there anyone on base? Or base is empty. oh I think but I'm pretty sure this is empty. OK, that's good, but. Man, that was. That's bad oh way to get banned for life, dude. Oh, man, can you imagine spending all that money?
00:06:51
Speaker
just to be all that money for a World Series C just to be just be told that ah you can never watch baseball in person again yeah that dude made that you paid $2,000 to do that yeah paid $2,000 money to watch baseball again yeah that's hilarious out of this game was there anything that was uh that that got your attention that you're like keep doing this i guess everything uh... will be strong slam that's pretty cool will be he goes he was on fire a two for three uh... one walk for bs and three runs he should keep that up labor should keep up his what he's been doing here today awesome well well you should have this game every game yes
00:07:50
Speaker
The one of the things that makes me want to forget that like jazzes was still like did nothing but that's because he's a One for four one walking no strikeouts, but the once again I I will Hammer on this point like I've been doing it the entire Yankees postseason. Their risk is still bad four for 15 Wait, they have to They have to be better at that Especially with this team
00:08:23
Speaker
And and this is again something that I knew that the Yankees could do Because they've kept I said it all four of these games that they that the I mean I Minus minus well, I would say even including the first game because there was ah it was a walk-off Grand Slam or whatever They because there's nothing you you can't come back from that, right? But up until that point they've kept the Dodgers below five right this entire time Yeah yeah like they have and if they lose this this is that's just gonna be the most frustrating thing about it is that they kept a team that just was has been beginning blowouts and shutting down offenses their entire postseason they could have been doing this the entire time like I don't know like did they just like
00:09:19
Speaker
get into their own heads about the Dodgers, and they're like, now everyone's just trying to like overcompensate?
Yankees' Offensive Struggles
00:09:25
Speaker
Well, Judge is trying to do something. ah you know You know what I mean? yeah like It's impressive that they've managed to keep this team like under five runs, listen or outside of double digit runs this entire time. We go to the postseason, just kind of see what the scores are, make sure I'm not just like talking like an insane person.
00:09:50
Speaker
Why did I do this? Yeah, it was, oh, it was, uh, game one, three, six. But that was a grand slam. Two, four, two, four. And then today, 11, four. That's impressive. That's genuinely impressive. With, with the hitters that they have.
00:10:17
Speaker
And then that's the same thing too, is like, we we talk about how much, well, Freddy's not struggling. I'm not sure how Mookie's, how's Mookie? Mookie is bad in 288, so he's doing pretty good in the postseason. So, I guess the Dodgers that it that are kind of like, unnaturally good in the postseason. Keeping them under those five runs.
00:10:43
Speaker
that That's what, for me, is the most frustrating thing.
00:10:51
Speaker
and I hope that the offense can can figure it out but it's the guy get three straight wins and that's gonna be that's gonna be hard but hopefully they can make it a World Series again and at least take it to game seven maybe even the game six Garrett Cole gave a give a quote I think, must have, either yesterday or post-game, even, they might have had it.
Garrett Cole on Winning Mission
00:11:26
Speaker
Let me try pulling it up. Okay. If it will load. We have to win four games. Well, guess what? We had to win four games going into game one.
00:11:40
Speaker
Matter of fact, assignments still the same. Yeah, I guess I get to get what he's saying. no matter what it's four games. Just gotta win them. Yeah, but it's nicer when you have to win every single one now. But I like, I like, I like it. The Yankees stay alive. Your your prediction that it goes seven games still not dead. So. And I hope your prediction provide will never be dead until it's dead. Yeah.
Recording Plans & Bullpen Performance
00:12:23
Speaker
I will not be able to record tomorrow, so hopefully the Yankees win. And they they stay alive. um
00:12:33
Speaker
Is there anything else you want to talk about before we go? Let's go Yankees, dude. Yeah. The only thing that i the only thing I get from them losing is my sleep schedule back, but I'll happily do away with that.
00:12:48
Speaker
Yeah. And oh, my God, dude, once again, once again. The Yankees bullpen shuts down shuts out the the Dodgers. They're doing their job. He'll gives a way. And what day is this? Yeah, he'll gives up for the only for the only runs at the Dodgers score.
00:13:12
Speaker
wins the next wall home that's gonna be scary right leg cuz one of these next if the Yankees win one of these games is gonna be a bullpen game for them right ah depends how they space it out they might start coal tomorrow okay yeah we but we will see but that's another crazy thing too is that I mean, I completely blame the offense for all these woes. But the it is crazy just how much of the weight the the bullpen is pulling. And good on them. Good on them.
Podcast Conclusion & Hopes for Yankees
00:13:55
Speaker
OK, so I think that'll be it. We'll see you guys for hopefully game six.
00:14:07
Speaker
Take it back to LA. Yeah. Oh boy. Please make them cry. Alright everyone, goodbye. Let's go Yankees!
