Preview of Chelsea vs Brentford Match

00:00:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hello and welcome to the Daily Chelsea, brought to you by the Global Sports Podcast Network. I'm your host Matt Blagdon and I'm joined today by Luke Charlson, also known as a Lyrical Luke. Luke, how are you doing today?
00:00:22
Luke
Yes, I'm very, very well. ah I always reflect on this moniker that you've given me and and ah it's it's it's a tag I'm seemingly carrying through to the end of the season. So yeah, I'm i'm here for it.
00:00:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Absolutely. you know Just like Chelsea, sort of we've got to start as we mean to go on. know Strong into

Chelsea vs FC Astana: Match Highlights

the season. Obviously, we are talking all things so forecasting ahead of the weekend's action against Brentford at a very peculiar time of a kickoff of 7pm on a Sunday. Not very sociable hours for that, is it? now but alas, that's what you've got to do in the busy Christmas season. You've got to fit the games in where you can. ah Luke, just before we get into the Brentford game, obviously Chelsea did play FC Astana all the way in Kazakhstan on Thursday.
00:01:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
And it was a pretty cold night, about minus 12 on the pitch for the players. So quite, you know, cold, but there was no cold Palmer to be seen, because Mareska definitely made a lot of changes, didn't he? I mean, obviously we saw Netto play because he is actually suspended against Brentford, so he's getting some more game time in in Europe and a pretty, you know, wild sort of refresh of the starting 11 with three academy players in there as well. Luke, what did you make of, you know, the

Academy Players' Role in Chelsea's Lineup

00:01:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
lineup? Was this, you know, a positive move from Maruska and how did we actually, you know, sort of fair in the game?
00:01:51
Luke
Yeah, it's it's always an interesting one. I think when you travel so far away in in Europe for for a game like this, particularly as you said, and that's such a cold climate, it's always going to be a difficult one for players to get excited about, I'd say. I think it was fairly fortuitous to a point of us being able to field such a fairly academy heavy side because we'd already done the business in the previous fixtures to pretty much secure our passage into the last 16, which we definitely have now. I think mathematically that's all done.
00:02:20
Luke
with the victory Thursday. So, yeah, it was it was a it was a good show and I think, yeah, it enabled some players that maybe wouldn't have got some starting 11 time. are certainly in the Premier League this season. They gave them the opportunity to really show

Chelsea's Winning Streak and Future Prospects

00:02:32
Luke
what they can do. And there were some promising performances. I think but Mark Gray in particular was really, really good actually up top. He was really influential, particularly in the first half. And there was a couple of, I'd say, more senior heads that you touched on Pedro Neto playing, Drewsbury Hall being involved, obviously a decisive captain for us.
00:02:50
Luke
it was yeah it was it was It was a professional performance. hey It's one of those ones, as I said, where it can be really difficult, it can be cagey, you can have quite a hostile atmosphere going somewhere so so kind of far away and so cold.
00:03:02
Luke
I think it's our furthest trip on record after the um the Europa League final in Baku.
00:03:06
Luke
We've gone a little bit further even than that in Azerbaijan.
00:03:11
Luke
It's one for the history books and thankfully we got the three points we needed and we scored some good goals as well.
00:03:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.

Chelsea's Europa League Aspirations

00:03:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, we are now up to sing six wins in a row, is almost very strange to say as a charity fan, giving, you know, last two years have been like, and we've got five wins in the Europa conference, a gold difference of plus 17.
00:03:26
Luke
Yeah.
00:03:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
So as said, Luke, you know, sort of definitely through to the next stage. I guess surely we're a sure fit to win it.
00:03:39
Luke
I think that, I mean. the writing was on the wall as soon as we knew we'd be we'd be drawn into the competition that that we would have to be one of the favorites and it would be pretty pretty dire if we didn't even get to the final let's say because winning it you never know on the day something can happen but but yeah i think now we're strong strong favorites and you look as as the
00:03:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
and
00:03:58
Luke
but i don't I'm not sure 100% if i think I think some Europa League teams do drop down if they finish third. ah Correct me if I'm wrong on that, but but once we know the full picture of all the teams involved, ah yeah like well we'll still be far and away amongst the favourites for the competition. It'd be a great way to round off a season of of that's been really promising so far if we can go on and lift some European trophy. there Granted, it isn't where we want to be. We want to be involved in the Champions League, but it's the competition we haven't won, so we've got to be in it to win it, and yeah hopefully we can be doing that when it comes to May.

Chelsea's European Trophy Ambitions

00:04:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, absolutely. To be the first team as well to win a lot of European trophies would be quite something to say. Like I said, we don't necessarily want to be there, but you know whatever competition we're in, we win it and we want to be that sort of club. Definitely. We are you know sort of history makers. We are pioneering a style of club.

Chukwuemeka's Loan Move Possibility

00:04:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
Just a note on Kanye Truccomena, Luke, you know his first game back in what seems forever. After taking off about 67 minutes, you know didn't you know get a goal or assist, seemed a little bit gutted you know to not get more game time. And you know he's only played 14 games in the last year and a half, just due to you know really, really frustrating injuries.
00:05:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
And now there is talk in January that he'll have you know a loan move at least to like Milan in the next six months, maybe a bit longer. How do you you know sort of sum up his time? Because I think he was an intelligent buy. He's got a lot of potential, a lot of quality.
00:05:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think he really just thrives in those roles that are really basically taken up by Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer right now. And he's just not going going to get in front of them. So, you know, is, you know, does he really have to make a standout you know sort of product with these loan spells to actually try and get back into the Chelsea team? Or do you think actually his time at Chelsea is up?
00:05:52
Luke
I think the difficulty we have is hes he's he's a victim of the policy that Chelsea now have really in terms of, he's definitely got some star potential. he's He's a very, very adept footballer and given a different scenario and a different circumstances and probably a different club, he certainly would have been having a lot more first team football at the AG is now, I think was he 21 now, I think.
00:06:11
Luke
So you look at it and think,
00:06:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm hmm.
00:06:13
Luke
ah alone move certainly we have to give him the chance to kind of prove himself into if he can really hit the ground running then of course he could force his way into the Chelsea team but I i think his long-term future does really lie away from the club which is which is sad to say but but you look at it and you go the problem is the people that as you've noted that they're ahead of him a similar sort of age so we can't have it's great to have that depth but then there is a point when There's definitely a reason the club bought these players lower well a slightly inflated prices for their age They want to sell on sell them on and make some profit you look at you look at the lights of the fact that
00:06:46
Luke
He's probably competing in a pool with, you've got Yo-Yo Palma, you've got Enzo Fernandez there, you've got Giao Felix there as well. He's competing, say, even with but the likes of Mudrik or Nkunku, even, kind of drop into that sort of pocket space. even if you used to play further back, then you've got even more competition there with Kaiseido, Lavio. You've got Ukechukwu is out on loan. You've got Andre Santos that's doing really well in France that could be coming back next season.
00:07:09
Luke
And then you've got the unknown quantities of like Esteban Williams and Kendrick Piers that are going to be coming in.
00:07:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
Gosh.
00:07:13
Luke
So there are so many players that are on our future rosters, not necessarily involved in the squad at the moment, but you do look at it and go, I put him in that kind of ballpark with them Amari Kellyman as well, who we signed.
00:07:25
Luke
And you think. You've got other academy players, you've got Tyreek George coming into the fold now. Some people here are going to have to be casualties of the fact that we can't have that many players. And you have to really be the best of the best. And I'm not saying he isn't, but he has been, as you say, hampered by those injuries. He needs that chance to go away and maybe reassert himself at another club. And I think, yeah, a loan move with an option to buy or if he hits certain clauses, a potential kind of buy up buy on clause, sell on clause even, would be a case of
00:07:55
Luke
Yeah, we're probably the best thing for him in his career right now because I don't think it's It's a long list to kind of get yourself involved in. And I don't think he's going to get anywhere near the top of it anytime soon by staying at Chelsea. So I think he has to go and see what what what he raised futures lies and and make that decision on himself, I think. And I think the club would respect him enough to say that if he wanted to leave, then they would allow him to do so. and I don't get me wrong. I think he has potential to be a Chelsea squad player, if not even a first team player in the future. But right now.
00:08:25
Luke
ah clearly investing in other options. And I think he needs to go off and show that he needs to be part of that

Challenges of Managing Chelsea's Young Talent

00:08:30
Luke
by playing. And if he isn't playing, then there there's not a lot of point him sort of sticking around that. Yeah, there's even other names, I think, in similar sort of ballpark where, Casa die as well, he played, played a lot more in the conference league than, than Chukwameka has. But another player where I don't know if he's ever going to be at a point where he feels part of the kind of first 18 as it were until it until he either has a loan move or or potentially decides to move on. It is an interesting time now because of we are at that level of
00:08:57
Luke
We're starting to show levels of of of consistency at the top end where we are competing. We're now probably being a little bit more cutthroat, whereas before it was a case of it was sign everyone we could at a certain price. They've all shown got flashes of potential, but some of them may let go, some we may not, some we may hope keep hold of. But now we really need to whittle it down and be like, well, who are the players that actually are the game changers that we want to keep and keep involved when we're pushing for titles?

Profit Strategy: Chelsea's Player Resale

00:09:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, I couldn't agree more, but Luke, and it's funny as well, because as Chelsea have been on this great run of form and now Mariska seems to be making this whole system work with the squad and the billion pound, and you know, sort of an, or just ridiculous amount of players that we have that Chelsea fought were, you know, mocked for sort of at the start of the season, that,
00:09:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
there is actually a method to the madness almost and like Boli and Blueco and all of that, you know, buying all these players with long contracts and so many young players and so many players in in different positions. It kind of does seem now that, not that this was the aim with Carly Chuckermano, but Chelsea are going to sign some players just to then hold on to them for a year or two and then sell them for another 10 million more like sort of and it's

Tactics for Chelsea vs Brentford

00:10:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
going to happen like that. And in some ways it is clever because we did sign Carney for about 20 million and I can see him going for at least 30 to like Milan or somewhere else, if if if not a little bit more, ah ah depending on, you know, add-ons and things like that. And so when he put it like that, it does make financial sense. You know, these guys are in business for a reason. and Anyway, that was all things Kazakhstan. We'll be back after this break.
00:11:20

Welcome back!

Past Encounters with Brentford

00:11:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
Luke, we've got a big game this Sunday against Brentford and for the last couple of years Brentford have been Chelsea's bogey team. We've played them 10 times and it's pretty close to the record. There's four wins for Chelsea, three wins for Brentford And it might but sound a little bit strange to say that Chelsea have got the most wins because we haven't beaten Brentford's in our last five Premier League games. The last time we beat them in the League Cup and in the Prem was in 2021. So clearly a tricky team, both home and away, for us.
00:11:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
Initially, I thought there was going to be a lot of positives here because this season Brentford's away form is absolutely woeful. they have are windless in seven games with one draw and six losses. But then again, Chelsea, we don't have the best home form either. Out of seven games, we've won three and drawn three. And some of those draws have been a bit frustrating to Forest and to Crystal Palace.
00:12:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
So it's really in the mix, mixture, Luke. How do you see, you know, sort of this game panning out and where do you think the key battles will be?
00:12:30
Luke
I think ah brett Brentford have clearly established themselves as a pretty solid Premier League team now. It's been a number of seasons. I think they've been up at this level and have been kind of competing alongside the the the the big boys as it were and they, yeah, they're always going to be difficult, difficult opposition to come up against. I think it bodes well in our favour being that we're at home because their their their waveform is is nowhere near as good as their homeform recently. I think Thomas Frank, he he's got a very well run machine now in terms of
00:13:02
Luke
He gets in players that he needs to kind of fill in the gaps where where where they where they come as through through kind of player sales and then their acquisitions is pretty strong. haven't really noticed the loss of Ivan Tony since he kind of departed the club. He'd be such an influential figure for them. um Brian Bremmer has really stepped up to the plate actually and really taken advantage of the fact that he's now kind of pretty much the main man there in terms of attacking wise.
00:13:25
Luke
But yeah, they're they're a dangerous outfit. They're well coached, they're well set up. But I think we have to really now, our one area maybe of weakness still is our own home form. And I think maybe we need to now really, really kind of stamp our authority on the game with that, looking at building on from the Villa victory and then really kind of pushing on now into making our home form and making the Stanford Bridge a little bit more like a fortress, like it has been in the past. So I think that's really the next step, I suppose, for Maresca and the team.
00:13:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
Absolutely. It would be amazing if Russ could replicate what Mourinho achieved at Stamford Bridge all those years ago, about 20 years ago of just going unbeaten for about, I think it was about 80 games in total at home, which is just absolutely remarkable.
00:14:05
Luke
Mm.
00:14:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
About four seasons. we definitely love Stamford Bridge to become that fortress again. With Brentford, Wisser and Bwemo, both on hot form, both have got nine goals this season so far.

Chelsea's Game Control Strategy

00:14:22
Luke
Yes.
00:14:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
And in terms of goals per match, Chelsea have an average of 2.3 and Brentford have an average of 2.1.
00:14:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Cole Palmer obviously does have 11 goals. He's our top goal scorer this season. Jackson's got eight. With all of that in mind, Luke, and all the stats pointing to lots of goals,
00:14:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
Do you think this is gonna be a no-no?
00:14:46
Luke
I would be very surprised. touch wood. I don't want to jinx anything, but yeah, I'd be very surprised if there wasn't goals in this game, particularly with the fact that, I mean, Brentford in some games have started so strong. They've started very, very quickly scoring goals very, very early on in games. and I think for Chelsea, we are pretty strong out of the block a lot of the times as well. Usually scoring within the first kind of 20, 30 minutes of a game.
00:15:09
Luke
So yeah, I would be surprised if it was a cagey affair. That's not to say that it may not be high scoring, but I think there'll but there'll be ah there'll be a couple of goals, maybe maybe for either side in in the game.
00:15:20
Luke
But yeah, I still think Chelsea will be fairly comfortable winners, I hope anyway, in terms of terms of the game, just because I think there's enough quality when it comes down to it from our starting 11 to their starting 11 that we'll be able to kind of outlast or outplay any of their their their quality elements. and I think again it's another fact where but it's almost like our team hasn't had a midweek fixture because pretty much our starting 11 didn't even travel so it's been um it's been um it's been yeah it'd be be nice to be able to have that element of rest in this busy festive period because I think from now on it really really kicks up again the next couple of weeks it just gets very very hectic and
00:15:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, very true.
00:16:03
Luke
Yeah, it'll be an interesting time slot though. I mean, seven o'clock on a Sunday is an interesting time to play, play a game of football.
00:16:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
I know, absolutely.
00:16:08
Luke
So, yeah, that, that, that might, that, that might play into Brentford's failure.
00:16:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
like
00:16:11
Luke
They might catch us on the back foot, whatever. It might be half asleep.
00:16:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:16:14
Luke
I don't know.
00:16:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
I know they might be well hoping for their dinner time or something like that, the players.
00:16:20
Luke
Ready for bed.
00:16:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
i'd sort of yeah i am i I wonder that how I initially see this game panning out is because Maruska is so possession heavy and and dominated that we'll have a lot of the ball And both teams will almost like set out and play into each other's game plan that we we want to have a lot of the game and Sorry, a lot of the ball and we'll pass it around and busy try and break down Brentford's With the through balls and crosses and whatnot But then particularly with whizzer and in women they'll try and hit us on the counter attack and And obviously, you know, the last time they did play us at the bridge, it kind of was one of those affairs where we tried to just really break them down, but they were just so solid, protecting their goal. And then they got, you know, a second counter tackling goal right at the end of the game, just to kind of kill off the game completely as we were really pushing for the draw. Do you think it's going to be the same format this season or do you think Marusca will, you know, tinker with the the formation again and maybe even flip it and let Brentford have a lot of the ball?
00:17:21
Luke
I think it would be very it would go very much against the nature of both managers to to suddenly, particularly on a wave fixture for Brentford to try and be more possession based. They know their strengths, they know their ability to counter attack quickly and and to play through the lines and to be in transition spots where they overload on the flanks and get the get the crosses in. So I'm expecting Fairly, yeah, some a moment ah ah of some bright sparks throughout the game where it may feel a bit end-to-end at points, but ultimately I think Chelsea will maintain control of possession

Reviving Stamford Bridge's Fortress Status

00:17:52
Luke
and and the momentum of the match for most of the fixture. I think Brentford's real aim is, is as I said, is kind of touched on it to either really catch us cold really early on and start quickly, or it's to work their way in, get to 60 minutes where it's still 0-0, and then try to make some opportunities with some kind of
00:18:09
Luke
um substitutions that that will add a bit of pace and a bit of guile into the side and and to maybe catch us from that side of thing they've had some good they've had some good scores from set pieces this season i think pinnock and collins have have got a couple of goals themselves from various situations so that they have got some danger men in different areas as well but but yeah like i said i think at the moment the way that chelsea moving forward we're up there as some of the top scorers in the league so i think for us we're really going to be wanting to kind of score and and score again pretty quickly just to really hammer home any to remove any doubt sorry of that Brentford will have a chance in the match so should be entertaining it would be happy but it' be a would be a nice game to kind of to pick apart and to see how it actually kind of comes to fruition once once the whistle blows Sunday Scaries
00:18:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, absolutely. Hopefully we'll be having sweet dreams and not nightmares after the game before the the next working week. Exactly, yeah. Predictions, lineups and something a bit cold after this break.

Predicted Lineup for Brentford Match

00:19:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
Welcome back. Luke, just ahead of Brentford's, how do you expect us to, you know, line up and what would you say your your score predictions would be? Obviously there's no Neto because he's but suspended due to bookings. Obviously there's no Ruth James and Fafana is out. Yeah. Do you think we'll have like a a proper full expected lineup or do you think there will be some changes within the lineup for this one?
00:20:08
Luke
I think there'll be some changes maybe from the starting 11 that started against Tottenham, but but ultimately I think it's going to revert pretty much back to type. We're probably going to have Sanchez back in goal. I would imagine a back four of Gusto, Colwell, Badia, Shile and Cucarella.
00:20:23
Luke
potentially Tosa may come in I don't know but I know he obviously traveled at the midweek so think it'll probably be those four that will start and then I think the midfield Lavia may probably still be to be missing or dropping out so it'll probably be ah ah Enzo and Kaiseido midfield with a front four of Sancho, Madewecki, Palmer and and Jackson I would imagine would probably be our starting starting attackers so yeah yeah I think I think it's more than likely going to be who we expected to be.
00:20:52
Luke
There may be one or two changes. You may see Jalfelix in there or on Kunku coming in or um it potentially may try Kaiseido again at right back and having Lavir in midfield.
00:20:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hmm.
00:21:01
Luke
But I'm not 100% sure in terms of where he's at with the the elbow incident if he's still kind of been able to, took obviously the cut on the side of his head.
00:21:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
Oh, yeah, of course.
00:21:09
Luke
So I don't know. It might be a case of giving him a reason to give him a rest for for for a week or for a fixture. So, but yeah, oldum ultimately I think, yeah, that you' but I'll be very surprised if, any of the players that played midweek are involved. I think Joosby Hall one and Vega could be on the bench, but I don't think they're going to be anywhere near starting. And I don't think DeSasi will be starting either. So yeah, I'm just expecting pretty much the run of the mill with the team we've seen that's kind of sort of established itself as our starting 11 over the last few weeks.
00:21:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, definitely. do somewhat i didn't I do agree with that that line it completely in terms of what we're going to

Score Predictions for Chelsea vs Brentford

00:21:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
see. I do sometimes feel a little bit sorry for Lubbier just because he almost feels too good to leave out, but the just the way that you know you can never drop Kaisado and Enzo's on this incredible run of form, that and he's scoring so much that it'd be criminal to leave him out. and so maybe, you know, sort of, Lavia is just that, you know, wonderful player to slot in, you know, sort of with the second half sub, just to keep things ticking over, you know, fresh legs for either Cassado or Endo, or maybe even, you know, one of the fullbacks, and depending on how the game's going. And yeah, Hill's slotted right there. So that's the lineup. Yeah, pretty standard, pretty attacking, pretty strong, potentially lots more assists and goals from Palma. What do you think the score is going to be, though, Luke?
00:22:30
Luke
difficult one. I think it could be similar to the midweek game. I'm feeling like 3-1.
00:22:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm.
00:22:37
Luke
I think Brentwood will maybe get goal. They might score first, but I just think, yeah, like they have energy on the counter-attack and I think there could be a point where we not have shown complacency, but there's a little bit of that kind of the lack of the the yeah the level of announce you sort of have with with the, because we don't have as many experienced players as as we'd like necessarily involved in the team, but that will come obviously with the with the younger players playing more and more. So I think, I think Brentford could catch us on the hop at one moment within the match, but I think we'll comfortably be able to score. I think, yeah, we we we certainly, we certainly want to have trouble at the other end. I don't imagine. So yeah, I'll probably go, yeah, three, with three, one to us.
00:23:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
I like that. Yeah, very positive, very strong. I'm a slightly more conservative. I'm going to go 2-1 for myself just because I do, you know, I totally agree that there will be a moment where Brentford just do catch us out and do get a goal in. mean, who knows? It could be from a moment of madness from Sanchez. You know, that's always a possibility as well.
00:23:36
Luke
Yep.
00:23:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
And I do see us dominate in the game and do get a goal sort pretty soon to to to level up. And then it's just a hard grind to get that second goal just because breakfast.
00:23:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think they've just got, they'll fancy their chances based on their recent record at Stamford Bridge, definitely. And so I think that'll be in their minds and they'll probably pro try and probably bring that in to really shore up the game. and Anyway, final little fun thing,

Cole Palmer's Branding Impact

Luke. it is Just to do with, you know, players and something a bit cold, very cold, maybe colder than where how cold Kazakhstan was earlier this week. um But,
00:24:14

uh Cole Palmer he's got his trademark cold celebration and he's looking to trademark it for merchandise for which can mean anything really for I guess shirts for for household utensils mugs and anything really in some ways you know it makes complete sense because he is essentially you know the poster boy of Chelsea right now and all the marketeers, all the brands, they want to you know maximize clicks, views, all of that with clubs and particularly a club like Chelsea has such international volume. It's almost a no-brainer to get something established with with Cole Palmer. It makes me think a bit of ah Jude Bellingham with his celebration and that being tied up with Adidas and have him having his own collection and things like that.
00:25:02

So potentially we might be seeing, you know, Cole Palmer collections with Nike as he is sponsored by Nike and things like that. What do you make of, you know, this news? Is this kind of just, you know, good news and it's quite fun and expected with a player like Cole Palmer with his performances and everything that is about him? Or could this be a bit of a distraction for him and maybe take away from his performances?

I think it's a clear indictment of of football in a modern era now that that players are such commodities that they have to look at their brand, they have to look at the sort of wider context of the sport that they're playing and they're not just footballers, they're not just athletes, they are icons in their own way, I suppose.

the

And I think that celebration that he's kind of made so synonymous with himself now and and it's become bigger almost than just a football celebration. it's ah it's just It's just a general expression of towards people that have kind of a level of composure and a lack of being phased about things.
00:26:02
Luke
It's sort of taken on a life of its own. So I think it it makes sense that the people that are kind of advising him, whether it be his agents or the marketing team, as you said, the media team that that have said, look, this would be, it's going to be a winner for you.
00:26:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm-hmm.
00:26:14
Luke
And I think there's been like ad campaigns where you've seen I can't remember if it was before the the euros, with Declan Rice, with Muller Rice. taking Taking on those sorts of things where you're going, what can we run with here?
00:26:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yes.
00:26:26
Luke
What can we play with? And what and what what can we do to kind of... again just to to to make more people money but also to build the brand that is Chelsea and to kind of establish as father so yeah it all makes sense but to kind of touch on a last point about will it will it faze him I don't think it will I don't think it's gonna have any impact on him on the pitch at all I don't think he has any sort of bother or interest in those sorts of things i think for him it's just it's just something funny that he probably likes to do his own celebration when he's playing fifa you know what i mean i don't think he looks at it much further than going oh this is going to put cross a few more t's and dot a few more i's on contracts for me with with brand deals and different associations and what whatnot and yeah have his name on all different different items whatever it could be
00:27:11
Luke
But yeah, it it makes sense. It does make sense because you want you want to take advantage of these sorts of things and and it's not the first time we've seen it and it certainly won't be the last.

Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, it does remind me of when you know, Jayden Sancho got his own boot line and even hazards You know, it sort of does run in the in the Chelsea lineup of stars who knows maybe Sancho will get another one We're revitalizing his career at Chelsea But exciting stuff nonetheless Luke we're out of time. umm I'm afraid. Thanks so much for joining me on this forecast Friday
