Media Review: All Her Fault

What happens when the messiest person in the room is exactly who you didn't expect?

In this episode, I break down All Her Fault—a psychological thriller that starts as a story about an overwhelmed mother and an seemingly aloof husband, then spirals into something far more twisted. What begins as a missing child case becomes a meditation on motherhood, loss, and the lies we tell to survive. But here's the thing: the show doesn't let anyone off the hook. Not the mother. Not the father. Not even the detective trying to piece it all together.

I explore the gendered weight of parenting, the fragility of trust, and how small deceptions snowball into catastrophe. There's also that viral tweet—"Think of the messiest bitch. It's a man, ain't it?"—which basically sums up the entire show. I thought I knew where this was going. I was wrong.

This episode is for anyone who loves sharp storytelling, psychological depth, and media that makes you question your own assumptions. It's also for parents, therapists, and anyone fascinated by how people unravel under pressure.

If you've ever wondered how much a person can carry before they break—or how blame gets distributed when everything falls apart—this one's for you.

Introduction and Episode Tease

Hey everyone, welcome back to another episode of Get Them Podcast. I'm your host, Jerome, and welcome back. i have something great to tell you guys today. i saw previews of this show. So this show is a show of betrayal a show of lies to see jealousy and twists and turns and of course it happens to be a psychological drama and i'm just that's right up alley all her fault that now that show i will say

Plot Overview of 'All Her Fault'

00:00:49
Speaker
blew me away. I think the thing about all her fault that I didn't expect was the fact that the show sets itself up to be a show about a mother who is married to her husband, who doesn't do much of anything. he is pretty much, I'll say in the sense of he doesn't do much of anything in the sense of like, he doesn't support her child rearing enough.
00:01:19
Speaker
And essentially what ends up happening is she's overworked, busy. She ends up thinking she books an appointment with her friends, well, with her friend. And her friend essentially tells her like, no, like you have not booked us a play date for our sons.
00:01:37
Speaker
No, you have not booked us play date for us. Now, the thing that becomes really interesting about this and the not play date that supposedly is supposed to exist is that the friend knew nothing about it.
00:01:53
Speaker
And so the friend's like, well, what what are you talking about? Like, I never texted you anything about that. And then the woman's like, oh, yeah, like, let me like look at my phone. Like, no, yeah, you texted me. This is your number, right?
00:02:07
Speaker
Saved as Jenny. And she's like, no, that's not me. That's very much not me. um You know, like, I don't have that text on my head.

Themes of Motherhood and Gender Dynamics

00:02:17
Speaker
Now, the kicker in this is that, spoiler alert,
00:02:25
Speaker
It was the nanny that did it. But that's not even the worst spoiler. Like that's not even it.
00:02:35
Speaker
Like that's how deep this goes. So I just had to buckle up and just prepare. And a lot of it came at the end where a lot of it came at the end when the nanny revealed the true intentions and why she did it.
00:02:55
Speaker
and how everything from there dissolves into just madness. I kept thinking of themes of initially themes of like motherhood and like what that means and loss and like how it shows up differently for men versus women.
00:03:12
Speaker
I'm being very like gender specific here because of like the show, it's dynamic.

Internet Authenticity and Societal Implications

00:03:18
Speaker
But I will say that something that you know because that's essentially what was the point was like all her fault that's what the show's called but essentially the thing that is really twisty about this is that you remember that tweet that goes who wrote that i forget who wrote that tweet If y'all remember who wrote that tweet, let me know in the comments.
00:03:44
Speaker
I forget that person who was the original, the ad for the person, but they said ah that, I love how y'all told you guys to just go ahead and do that, to look that up. And I got my phone right here.
00:03:56
Speaker
But also like, if you know the original, hold on, we're going to stop right there. If you know the original, Because the truth is, is like the internet is so fake. Like y'all, like I'm not going to get on that right now. But people end up taking like other people's tweets and like lying about them. And like, and I feel like that's why we're in this situation now. I'm just going to say that.
00:04:18
Speaker
It's not her fault, but it's somebody's fault that we're in this situation. We are in now. And it's here in the United States in 2026. But it's, I'm going to say that for this person's who I see, baby, baby.

Character Integrity and Chaos

00:04:33
Speaker
Bink said think of the messiest bitch it's a man ain't it and someone said someone never mind anyway so think of the messiest bitch you know it's a man ain't it that's basically the show and I thought that this show was going in one direction and in another direction because it started to feel like, well, the loss of this child was everybody's fault because essentially no one did their job and everyone lied to each other about everything throughout the show. And I think that's evident, which I think is also another thing that the show really touches on really well is this
00:05:14
Speaker
loss of integrity between characters and how they feel about each other and how that even dissolves into this mess where you don't really know what's true and you don't really know what's not true because some of the things are true and then some things aren't and you're left kind of wondering like okay well what the like that was one of the wildest shows I think I've watched in a while. i will so give it up to the actors and actresses. They were amazing. I thought the soundtrack was really amazing too.

Detective Elcar Cornelius: Dedication and Contrast

00:05:56
Speaker
Another thing I thought that was really well done was the way in which the detective, i believe his name was Elcar Cornelius. He really did a good job at following through like i really ah i like that because i'm someone that is very much a 5-1 projector so i'm like i'm going to investigate i like if it don't curl all the way over for me i'm not going to be the one to let that slide i'm like i gotta circle back so i thought that was like really good to portray like someone that's that follows through
00:06:35
Speaker
on their cases and that really pays attention because I feel like oftentimes detectives and police are depicted as like they don't care because i mean oftentimes they don't but I do think that sometimes there are ones that or there are individuals that do care and that do take the job seriously so I just thought that that was really good and that But the ending, y'all, was wild. I'm not going to spoil it if you have not seen it.
00:07:00
Speaker
I thought the the kid was adorable. I can go through the cast list really quickly because I think that it's more of a show that you experience. Like, I even got on here wanting to talk about the show in detail and kind of spoil it and talk about the things that it made me feel throughout the show.

Emotional Impact and Content Warning

00:07:22
Speaker
The moments where I was, like, gripping my chair, or just, like, trying to... like gasping like my roommate heard me gasping because this show was so freaking good I think that anyone that is into a good also think that I will also say like as a content warning that if you are someone that is sensitive about children and the context around that I would say this show might not be for you but I also think that
00:07:55
Speaker
It's an interesting experiment in like stretching yourself because of what ends up happening. And then there's so many different discussion points of, again, like the idea of motherhood, adoption, the idea of the patriarchy and the family, like how the lies, how I guess the little lies end up turning into be the ones that matter the most and can essentially get someone kidnapped.
00:08:27
Speaker
So I think that it's something to... If I was in school, I probably would do like a case study on this show.

Societal Themes and Notable Performances

00:08:36
Speaker
Like I think that that was probably what I would do. I would probably do, I was still social work school. Oh my God, why my mouth do that? And then I cough right into the mic.
00:08:48
Speaker
If I was still in social work school, I would totally do a...
00:08:55
Speaker
assignment on this like I feel like there's so much to talk about especially like when it comes to addiction again like the idea of like over like what it could be like over caring what it means to be an individual that struggles with disabilities that wants to be independent and like live their own life like I think there's so many things this show touched on in eight episodes that feel like I gotta to watch it again so I would definitely say go back watch it The other thing about the cast was like, I know I've seen a lot of these people from somewhere. And I was just like, I don't know where I've seen these people from.
00:09:33
Speaker
These people are from definitely from things I've watched. Sarah Shook, Snook, Jack Lacey, Dakota Fanning for sure, because I've seen Dakota Fanning and like everything.
00:09:49
Speaker
Sophie Lillies, Daniel Monks, and Jay Ellis. I know them. Or I know, not know them, you I know of them. ah And the kid was adorable.
00:10:02
Speaker
Duke McCloud. Yeah, he was adorable. He like, I was just like, wow, like this is baby fever a little bit because I was like, okay, now kind of want a kid because this kid is really cute.
00:10:14
Speaker
And I was also in my head like, okay, so I know my kid would be cute because

Show Rating and Future Speculation

00:10:19
Speaker
I'm cute. Like not to whatever, but like just saying that like, I'm not ugly.
00:10:27
Speaker
Not saying that that's a bad thing. Yeah, but moving on. What I will say is that I would definitely rewatch this. I would give it probably a I would probably give it an 8.5. And the only reason I say that is because I think some of the time the plot felt like it was racing.
00:10:52
Speaker
I think that if it was, they had they were working with a lot. They were working with a lot and they squeezed in a lot to make this show. I think that had it been maybe 10 episodes, I would have been like, okay, like cool.
00:11:05
Speaker
Cause I was just left unclear at the end. Like, is there going to be like a season two? It doesn't feel like it needs a season two. I feel like this is perfect. I don't, I think it wrapped up like nicely.
00:11:16
Speaker
Yeah. I don't think that anything else needs to happen. with that. But yeah, they were working with a lot. They were working with a lot. What else? Anything i else I can think of? I don't think there's anything else I can think of.
00:11:30
Speaker
Just cutting it down, cutting it down. i thought that don't even want to say like the stuff that I thought. I will say I thought that

Marriage Dynamics and Parenting

00:11:41
Speaker
before. Whoa.
00:11:42
Speaker
I know I keep saying like I'm just trying to add like context to this show and like it just really felt like again I thought their husbands was cheating like the whole time like that's like the thing like I and it made me really look at myself a bit but I also still was like okay but they still don't do like they don't do anything Like, they're bumps on a log. Like, why even be married and, like, your husband doesn't do anything? Like, that's boring. Like, what? And that's annoying.
00:12:17
Speaker
Like, why would you, what? Why would you subject yourself to that? Like, it takes two people to raise a kid. Like, that's ridiculous. And I'm glad they really touched on that in a show. But that's it.
