Speaker: Welcome back to When Words Fail. I am so incredibly glad you pulled up a chair and chose to join me at the table today. If you're listening to this right on schedule, then I am officially back. from my birthday break.
Speaker: My soul is completely rested. My mind is clear. And to be completely honest with you, My heart is just full to the absolute brim. I am so incredibly grateful that time away to rest and get some unhurried breathing room for my spirit.
Speaker: But I have to tell you. I cannot wait to get back to this microphone and back to this table with you. Today, we're moving into track 10 of our project. And I've titled this episode, The Masterpiece of Mercy.
Speaker: We're turning our focus toward a song that pulls back the curtain on the grand design of God. woven tapestry.
Speaker: Have you ever looked at your life or looked at the sheer mess and chaos in the world around you, and wondered if there is actually a point to any of it. It is so easy to look at our broken pieces, our past mistakes, or even the quiet.
Speaker: Lonely seasons where nothing seems to make sense. and feel like we are just completely drifting through space. We look at our circumstances and think, Is God really tracking this?
Speaker: Does my little life matter in the grand scheme of eternity? But this song... is a beautiful, unyielding reminder. that you are not an accident. You're not floating through history alone and you're not a random footnote in a crowded universe.
Speaker: You're part of an intentional, divinely authored lineage of greats. Let's drop the weight of our current struggles right now. Buy the noise of what the world demands. Settle your nine.
Speaker: And let's... open our hearts together in prayer.
Speaker: Lord Jesus, We come to the table today completely amazed by the sheer scale and depth of your love. Open our eyes to see the bigger picture today. strip away our feelings of insignificance and remind us that you have been writing a story of rescue since before the foundation of the world.
Speaker: Anchor our hearts in your unshakable plans today. and help us to see that we are wanted, we are welcome. and we are woven directly into your family tree. In your holy name we pray.
Speaker: Amen.
Speaker: The absolute foundation of our faith rests on a reality that existed long before time. space, or matter were ever formed. In the absolute silence before the world was built,
Speaker: God already knew your name. The song puts it perfectly when it says, and the silence before the world began. Names were the words of the Master's hand. From Adam's breath to Abraham's call.
Speaker: Each one a sign that God held it all.
Speaker: When you open up your Bible and read through the Old Testament, It is so incredibly easy to look at those long lists of genealogies and completely tune out. Be honest.
Speaker: Most of the time we hit those long chapters full of so -and -so we got so -and -so we skim right past them. We look at those syllables and think to ourselves, I can't even read these names.
Speaker: How am I supposed to remember all of these names or keep them straight? We treat it like an old history list that doesn't connect to our daily walk. simply because we don't know the depth of what is actually hidden. right below the surface.
Speaker: Let me share a little bit of my own personal thinking. That completely transformed how I look at this trap. I was doing a deep study into the hidden meaning behind those very first names mentioned in the lineage of humanity.
Speaker: running straight from Adam all the way down to Noah. Now. This isn't something I created myself. It's just a powerful truth that I found while doing some deep research.
Speaker: but finding it completely transformed my own personal thinking. and shifted how I look at the tribe. When you look at those specific names in the original Hebrew language and translate them directly into English one after the other,
Speaker: They aren't just a random list of historical figures. They literally form a hidden sentence that expands upon the exact message of those lyrics. They spell out a magnificent.
Speaker: prophetic saying from the mouth of God. hidden right there in the first chapters of Genesis. Look at how the first 10 names connect. Adam translates directly to man.
Speaker: Stat? means appointed. Enosh? means mortal. Keenan means sorrow. Right there, at the very start of the family tree.
Speaker: you have the raw definition of the human condition after the fall. Man is appointed mortal sorrow. That is the baseline of our broken world. But look at how the master's hand just picks up the pin.
Speaker: The next name and the line in the line is Mahalo. which means the blessed God. Then comes Jared. which means she'll come down. Enoch? means teaching.
Speaker: Methuselah means his death shall bring. Limit. means the despairing. And Noah means comfort or rest. When you string the meanings of those first 10 names completely together in order,
Speaker: The genealogy itself reads, Man is appointed mortal sorrow. what the blessed God shall come down to. teaching. His death shall bring the despairing comfort and rest.
Speaker: Think about the sheer mind -blowing wonder of that fact thousands of years before Jesus Christ. was ever born and a manger in Bethlehem. God had already encoded the entire blueprint of the gospel.
Speaker: directly into the names of the family tree. And look, it doesn't even stop at Noah. if you follow that lineage translations all the way down the entire family line on both sides The Jesus.
Speaker: it continues to spell out a massive, breathtaking, prophet prophetic story of Absolute rescue. I'm not going to list every single name out loud today, but...
Speaker: I have dropped a link right in the episode description show notes. So you can click it and read the full expanded translation story for yourself. I highly encourage you to go look at it because seeing how God intentionally hid the gospel.
Speaker: And every generation will completely blow your mind. This is the factual, unshakable reality of how much your story matters to the creator. Every single name.
Speaker: was sealing a secret mercy. He didn't just scramble a backup plan together when he humanity fell into sin. He was weaving the gospel into the text from day one.
Speaker: stepping through history with absolute precision. And if you look later on down the family tree into the legal line of the New Testament, You find that God didn't scrub the lineage clean of real -world mess.
Speaker: either. He left the scars completely exposed. You see the names of people who completely blew up their lives. You see Rahab and Outsider. You see Ruth, a foreigner from a cursed background. You see Bathsheba.
Speaker: marked permanently by a season of deep sin and betrayal. If humans were writing the story to prove a pristine king, we would have edited those names completely out. But God displays them right at the front gate.
Speaker: As the scripture tells us in 1 Corinthians. 127. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise. And God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong.
Speaker: Look at how this matches the moment God calls a regular man named Abraham. out of the pagan land. to establish this exact line. In Genesis, Chapter 12, verses 1 through 3.
Speaker: The scripture says, Now the Lord said to Abram, Go from your country and from your relatives and from your father's house. to the land which I will show you. and I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great.
Speaker: And you shall be a blessing, and I will bless those who bless you. And the one who curses you, I will curse. And in you, all the families of the earth will be blessed.
Speaker: Let's lay the facts down in plain English. God looks at an ordinary man tells him to completely leave his comfort zone, and promises to make his name great. But notice the why.
Speaker: behind the promise. It wasn't so Abraham could build a selfish empire or brag to the current world. It was so that through his specific Only an edge. All the families of the earth will eventually be blessed.
Speaker: Every step. How long that ancient road was mercy. carrying what was oh slowly unfolding the truth through the centuries to bring Savior now.
Speaker: And we pull back. and look at this grand tapestry across history? We have to talk about how this directly applies to our everyday lives. It is so easy to fall into the trap of thinking you are insignificant.
Speaker: Culture tells us that if you come from a broken home or if you've accumulated... a mountain of personal failures. You are permanently binged. Human logic says your heritage limits your future.
Speaker: But the gospel reverses the math completely. Romans 11 .6 reminds us, but if it is by grace it is no longer on the basis of works. Otherwise, grace is no longer grace.
Speaker: When you look at the precision of the family tree God built, you realize... Beautiful truth. He knew exactly where he wanted us in the grand scheme of things. You see, this entire track is about God's perfect. meticulous placement.
Speaker: God didn't just guess his way through history and he didn't just place you where you are on a whim. To understand how secure your placement is today, you have to look at the staggering background.
Speaker: are the prophecies that intentionally laid the groundwork for Jesus to arrive. Long before Christ stepped into flesh, The father left a clear trail across the Thousands of years. to prove that the board was completely under his control.
Speaker: Think about the sheer intentionality. of this layout Hundreds of years before the manger, The prophets were given highly specific details about the Messiah's lineage. his birth and his ultimate mission.
Speaker: In Micah chapter 5 verse 2. written over 700 years before the first Christmas. The prophet lays down the exact geographic placement of the Savior's arrival.
Speaker: But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah. Too little to be among the clans of Judah. From you, one will go forth for me to be ruler in Israel.
Speaker: His goings forth are from long ago. from the days of eternity. Think about that. God chose a tiny and significant village to bring forth the king of kings.
Speaker: He established the geographic coordinates centuries in advance. And it wasn't just where he would be born. It was the exact manner of how he would enter our reality.
Speaker: In Isaiah 7 .14, the scripture declared, Therefore, The Lord himself will give you a sign. behold a virgin will be with child and bear a son and she will call him Emmanuel.
Speaker: God was pinpointing every single dimension of the promise. He even mapped out the exact manner of his death to show that the rescue Layout was uncompromised.
Speaker: In Isaiah chapter 53 verse 5, The prophet foretold the literal price of our peace. But he was pierced through for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities, the chastening for our well -being. fell upon him.
Speaker: And by his scourging, We are healed.
Speaker: This is the background that anchors our faith. God left Absolutely nothing to chance I love something that Priscilla Shire says when she talks about spiritual warfare and how God moves through history.
Speaker: She uses this incredible analogy of a chessboard. Think about a massive cosmic game of chess playing out across the centuries. The devil steps up to the board, looks at humanity, and makes a calculated destructive move.
Speaker: He drops sin into the world. Thinking he's one. But God doesn't panic. He just leans over the board and quietly makes a move back. Then the enemy turns around and makes another move. He stirs up exile.
Speaker: builds up the stronghold of Babylon he tries to cut off the family line and he works through history to completely crush our hope. back and forth back and forth move after move the energy strikes and god responds The devil will thought he had him backed into a corner.
Speaker: He thought he had trapped us in a cycle of mortal sorrow. We had no choice but to throw up our hands and give up. He thought he had the righteous in a position where they had to resign the game. But God is the ultimate grandmaster governing the board.
Speaker: He sees the whole layout. He is never so surprised by what the enemy throws down, and he is never caught off guard by what looks like chaos to us. Every single prophetic word delivered by Micah, Isaiah, and the ancient patriarchs was God moving his pieces with absolute sovereign authority. Okay. Every prophecy was a declaration over the board.
Speaker: Back and forth they went through the generations until God made the ultimate unyielding history shattering move. bringing forth Jesus Christ. When Jesus was born in the exact town promised through the exact lineage mapped out and was nailed to that rugged cross just as Isaiah described,
Speaker: God didn't just check the enemy. He completely disarmed him. He took away his authority, canceled our debt, and won a definitive... Victory. And here is the absolute best part of that truth.
Speaker: Family. The end of the story was already written. We aren't sitting at this table, biting our nails, hoping God wins the match. We already know exactly how this story ends.
Speaker: The victory is fully secure, the grave is completely empty and the enemy is already operating on borrowed time. When you understand the... collusion is already locked in.
Speaker: You can stop operating out of a spirit of panic and start walking in absolute. Rest.
Speaker: We're going to keep it real. Just because the final victory is already written and just because God has a master plan for where you fit. that does not mean following Christ is going to be easy.
Speaker: Somewhere along the line, Modern church culture started preaching this. false narrative that once you give your life to Jesus, you're completely insulated from trouble. We're told that if you just have enough faith, our path will be entirely smooth.
Speaker: But that is not biblical reality. We ourselves are going to go through storms. Jesus didn't look at his disciples and promise them an easy path. He told them plainly that in this world you will.
Speaker: Half Tribulation. you are going to face seasons that shake you to your very core.
Speaker: But hear me clearly on this. Sometimes, God allows us to go through those storms because there is a specific strength. that can only be formed in the wind.
Speaker: When I think about this, my mind goes straight to Job. If there was ever an example of someone who found themselves placed in the center of an absolute catastrophic storm, It was him.
Speaker: in a single day. His wealth was wiped out, his children were taken and his health completely collapsed. Job wasn't walking through that valley because he had failed God or because he had stepped out of bounds.
Speaker: He was a righteous man. Yet. His entire world was turned upside down. When you read through his story, Job spends chapters crying out from his ash heap.
Speaker: questioning the layout of his life and asking the Lord, Why is this happening to me? Where is the justice in this storm? And when God finally answers Job, he doesn't come with a shallow, easy answer.
Speaker: God answers Job straight out of a whirlwind. in Job chapter 38 verses 4 and 8. The Lord conference confronts him face to face and says,
Speaker: Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me. If you have understanding. Or who enclosed the sea with doors when it went out from the womb, bursting forth?
Speaker: God didn't explain every single move on the board to Joe. But by showing up in the middle of the whirlwind, He reminded Job, of the massive reality. He is the creator.
Speaker: He is sovereign. and he sees the entire tapestry from beginning to end.
Speaker: The storm didn't assure Joe. It completely expanded his vision. And Job? Chapter 42, verse 5. Job looks back at After the storm has cleared and declares the Lord.
Speaker: i have heard of you by the hearing of the ear. But now my eye sees you. That is the strength formed in the storm. The wind isn't blowing to capsize your boat. It is blowing to move you from just knowing about God.
Speaker: to truly seeing him. It builds an unyielding, unbreakable spiritual endurance inside your frame. It forces you to anchor your spirit miles deeper into his sovereignty so that when the world shifts around you,
Speaker: you can stand flat -footed on the rocks. and say, I don't need to know every single move the Grandmaster is making. Because I know his character. And then the end of the story is already secure.
Speaker: When you understand that the storm is building your strength, you realize you aren't just fighting for your own individual survival. You're being built up so you can understand exactly how we fit as the body of Christ.
Speaker: Just like every name in that ancient Hebrew lineage, held a specific non -negotiable role and bringing forth the Savior. And just like every single prophecy had a precise placement on the historical timeline,
Speaker: You hold a specific non -negotiable role in carrying his light into the world today.
Speaker: We aren't meant to be individual threads floating around on our own. We are designed... to be tightly woven together into a single unified body. 1 Corinthians 12, verses 12 -14 Paul delivers a brilliant plain spoken breakdown of how this divine design actually works.
Speaker: For just as the body is one and yet has many parts, and all the parts of the body Though there are many are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we are all baptized into one body.
Speaker: whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we are all poured one spirit to drink. for the body is not one part, but many.
Speaker: Paul is knocking down our tendency to perform. compete or isolate ourselves. He is showing us that a healthy body cannot function. Every single piece is trying to do the exact same job.
Speaker: If the whole body is an eye. How do you hear? The whole body is an ear. How do you walk? The world operates on a conformist ground. crowd -pleasing mentality where Everyone is pressured to copy the leader. blend into the background and think exactly the same way.
Speaker: But God's design is the exact opposite. opposite. He takes our unique backgrounds, our distinct gifts, and our individual personalities, and he weaves. them. perfectly together into a single unified form.
Speaker: When you start to understand how you fit into the body of Christ, Two massive things happen to your perspective. You stop feeling insignificant. You realize that the quiet hidden jobs in the kingdom, the background prayers, the quiet acts of kindness are just showing up to serve your family.
Speaker: carry just as much weight The person standing behind the microphone. Every single part is essential to the health of the body. You stop competing with others. You drop the exhausting burden of trying to copy someone else's calling.
Speaker: or judging yourself harshly because your gift looks different. You realize that their success is your success. Because we are all serving the exact same king and moving towards the exact same victory.
Speaker: James were the word. of the Master's hand.
Speaker: Adam's breath to Abraham's call.
Speaker: Each one a sign You got hell to pay.
Speaker: tapestry forming Through history's art
Speaker: a tree From God's own heart
Speaker: And always
Speaker: It's thrown Exiles ache to the seed once sown. Urgent song Like the promise kept
Speaker: A hidden message
Speaker: Back in love and...
Speaker: Creeper spread to this moment here
Speaker: and the purpose clear The ultimate move. The saving ha - the children and reclaim the land
Speaker: Made plain. The Anointed One Who bears our shame?
Speaker: there's room for you story He's writing.
Speaker: Place at the table. I see by his side.
Speaker: We don't serve a savior who leaves us scattered or broken. He disarmed the darkness at the cross so that he could gather his children out of the trenches. and build them into a holy temple.
Speaker: You have a specific placement, a distinct voice, and an uncompromised purpose inside his family. When we step into our unique roles with humility, love, and absolute truth,
Speaker: The body functions exactly the way the master builder designed it to.
Speaker: So where is all of this leading? When we look at this massive historic tapestry and we look at how Perfectly God places every single piece on the board. it naturally forces us to examine our own life. lives.
Speaker: And to be completely honest with you, this Is an area where I. Restored. with my own intense thoughts and struggles for a very long time. Like I've told you before, I'm an introverted extrovert.
Speaker: And still to this day, Very rarely do I ever speak out in front of people. Even now. After writing these songs, releasing albums, and doing all of this production work, That internal barrier is still very real for me.
Speaker: And... As you've probably noticed throughout this entire project, this is a completely faceless podcast. Except... for that one very terrible late night introduction video I posted.
Speaker: Bye. As I sat back and looked at the way God weaves his tapestry, I started to realize that maybe my layout And maybe your layout is not such a bad thing after all. God didn't design everyone to stand on a stage under a physical spotlight.
Speaker: He doesn't need everyone to be loud to be effective. Because of the way he wired me, I am able to use my unique gifts, my specific knowledge, and my sheer tenacity.
Speaker: behind the scenes to help further his word in a completely different way.
Speaker: Look at the reality of the world we live in right now. Everyone out there is always so super busy. People are constantly moving, running from obligation to obligation, and in this fast -paced culture, it is incredibly hard.
Speaker: For the average person to just sit down and think. and watch something. The noise is... Constant. But because of my background,
Speaker: and my introverted nature. and the capacity God gave me to sit in the quiet and digest information like a sponge. I can do the heavy lifting for them. I can sit at this table, do the deep research, lock down the spiritual facts and create a space where busy people can.
Speaker: Pause their lives and just listen. With all of my background, And with all of my specific personality quirks, I am still able to do the kingdom's work.
Speaker: Hopefully effectively. Heh. um You see, family. There is room for you at the table. not as a reward for your perfect religious performance.
Speaker: Ahem. Lord knows I am nowhere near perfect. but as a total gift of grace. Your specific placement in the body of Christ Doesn't have to look like anybody else's template.
Speaker: You might feel hidden. You might feel like your personality doesn't fit the typical mold. Or you might be running your own faceless race in the corner of your community.
Speaker: So let me speak directly to you. wherever you find yourself listening today. If you're already a believer, but right now the tapestry of your life feels completely frayed, Your faith feels more like an empty tiring habit than a fire?
Speaker: I want to encourage you to let the generational unshakable faithfulness of God Saddle over your spirit. all over again. He was not surprised by the worst chapter in your story, and he is absolutely not surprised by whatever storm you are struggling through.
Speaker: And if you're listening today and you aren't a believer, Or maybe you were standing in that honest, uncertain middle ground where you were curious but entirely unconfessed. Skeptical or feeling a little bit stirred inside?
Speaker: the door is also completely open for you. You don't have to clean up your life, fix your past, or have every single theological question answered. before you can draw near.
Speaker: You just have to be willing to look honestly at Jesus. who he claims to be, and what he did on the cross for your scars. Consider picking up a Bible this week and simply reading through the Gospel of John.
Speaker: Consider praying the most radically honest prayer you know how to pray. Even if it's just... God? I don't know if you're actually there. But I'm looking.
Speaker: Before we walk away from the table today, Let's carry two very honest, intentional questions for the rest of our week.
Speaker: Are you still trying to perform for a seat at the table, or are you ready to accept that the chair has already been pulled out for you by Grace?
Speaker: How can you let the scars in your own story become a monument to God's faithfulness rather than a source of hidden shame? Let us pray.
Speaker: Lord God, You are the Master Weaver. Thank you. that Before the world even began, you knew our names. and perfectly planned our placement in history.
Speaker: Thank you that even when the enemy tries to make his moves against our lives, You are the Grand Master who has already secured the final checkmate. Lord, I thank you for hiding the names of outcast sinners and survivors.
Speaker: inside the very lineage of our Savior. to remind us that there is always a seat for us at your table. I pray for the believer whose faith feels frayed today. Renew their strength.
Speaker: Give us supernatural endurance for the storms we are facing right now. knowing that you are using the wind to strengthen our friends. I pray for the curious seeker who is listening.
Speaker: Reveal your radical welcoming love to them this very week. Gather us up. untangle our hearts and lead us forward in your footsteps. In the wonderful, beautiful, and matchless name of Jesus.
Speaker: amen
Speaker: You are not an accident. And you are not walking through this shifting world alone. Trust the Master's hand. Rest in His secret mercy. Anchor your spirit through the storm and remember exactly who you belong to.
Speaker: Please remember to like, share and subscribe to the podcast. so we can keep walking this path together. And check out our YouTube community tab this week. I'll be posting our personal reflection questions there.
Speaker: And I want to hear your thoughts, your prayers, and your comments. Thank you for sharing this unhurried. beautiful time with me around the table today. Next Thursday.
Speaker: The journey shifts a little. I'm going to be talking about a song we have done before. But I remixed it. And. I've heard some people say it's not their favorite song on the album.
Speaker: But... There's a reason it's there. Get ready for a special high energy exploration. of our next trap. Brand new light. The Rock remix. You won't want to miss it.
Speaker: Until then... Remember that no matter how tangled your threads look right now, The weaver isn't finished with your story. I'm praying for you. Take care. And take heart.
Speaker: god bless
