When I first started pottery, I got taught a certain way how to make pottery. It was simple, kind of how I explained it. I used my left hand and my inside hand, my outside hand. Those two things didn't change, but when I first learned, I was taught to use a sponge and that

Weigh kind of didn't really work for me. A sponge on my outside hand didn't work for me at the time. I was still kind of inexperienced. I couldn't find it for a while. It took me about a year, almost two years to find really a style that worked for me, a technique that worked for me.

Observing and Choosing Pottery Techniques

So I recommend is you want to really look at how potters are throwing. Look at their hands. What are they doing with their hands? Maybe it's the knuckle pool they're trying. Maybe it's the sponge with the look like they're doing a almost about a snap their fingers with a sponge. Maybe they're using their palm of their of their hand. So whatever it is that works for you, you got to find it.

Benefits of a Personal Pottery Style
