Speaker: Hello, and welcome to The Slut's Guide to Faith. podcast.
Speaker: I'm Lex Hesperus. their damn pronouns. And I'm here. to talk about. the bimbo The Cosmic Bimbo is one of my Favorite archetypes? for working towards finding your fate.
Speaker: in A way that is pleasurable, easy.
Speaker: And uniquely... Only yours. I'm talking about the bimbo today because I just opened up my books for Cosmic Bimbo coaching. It's a three -month coaching package designed to connect you with your inner bimbo so that you can Take care.
Speaker: Possession over yourself. your dreams, your desires. and make the magic that you want to be making and create the life you want to be living.
Speaker: Basically, you were a fucking freak. You are here to do something that no one else can do. And I want to help you do it. That's what the bimbo is all about.
Speaker: So let's get into it. Let's talk a little bit about the bimbo as an archetype in practice. On The Slut's Guide to Fate, we've talked about the slut. After all.
Speaker: It's in the name of the podcast. But on the journey to Sleuthood. There's an intermediate step. This is the bimbo. The bimbo is the gateway to your fate.
Speaker: The Slut Once you know what your fate is the slut takes action to claim and manifest that fate. But before you can manifest your fate, you have to know who you are. You have to know yourself and claim yourself.
Speaker: That's what the bimbo is.
Speaker: It's no kind coincidence that the bimbos are having a moment right now. Bimbo is trending on TikTok. Chrissy Halpeka is an amazing musician and artist who's touring right now.
Speaker: The bimbo is having a moment because the archetypal lessons of the bimbo are lessons that we deeply need in this moment. This is the bimbo's moment because the bimbo offers us an antidote to so many struggles that plague us in this present moment.
Speaker: The bimbo offers us a path into power, sovereignty, and... pleasure.
Speaker: The bimbo is free. But in the present moment, we are deeply unfree, disempowered, not connected to our own sovereignty, our own selves.
Speaker: So we're going to talk about the ways that the bimbo can help us get reacquainted with ourselves so that we can reclaim our power under a system that thrives when we are separated. from our own unique shining.
Speaker: The bimbo as an archetype? often thought of as a gorgeous, highly aesthetic conventionally attractive. Woman. That's the bimbo.
Speaker: The bimbo is often thought of as being culturally bound by standards of beauty, gender norms that we get. from capitalism, patriarchy and other social mores.
Speaker: But... Scholars. who have looked at the bimbo as an archetype which I'll be honest. There aren't many of. We'll talk a little bit about why. the bimbo has been under considered as an archetype before now.
Speaker: but we'll just say. The folks who've started to look at the bimbo more seriously
Speaker: View. The bimbo. as A. Part of a... Larger divine creatrix. energy The bimbo expresses a generative libidinal energy.
Speaker: which is academic speak for. Erotic. horny and creative. And the bimbo is... a part of this larger older,
Speaker: divine creatrix archetype. bound within our present moment. It's sort of like a little fugitive package of... creative potential,
Speaker: that we can access in the here and now.
Speaker: The bimbo is essentially a fractured remnant of this. you know however you want to say it mother goddess divine creatrix remaining still in this world although be it in a culturally shattered form.
Speaker: I don't think that that makes it less valuable though. Because... Everything. and our current culture is culturally shattered.
Speaker: And the bimbos? The way this, the influence of these cultural mores that operates. Within the bimbo? It's actually really informative and helpful.
Speaker: as we look a little deeper So. the bimbo as a divine creatrix.
Speaker: The bimbo being a beauty. This is a defensive tactic under a system that requires the feminine to be. Beautiful.
Speaker: and pretty. It's defensive. And it's protective. If you are pretty, if you are... obsessed with things that the Powers that be don't value. You don't have to explain yourself.
Speaker: Because no one expects you to explain yourself.
Speaker: There's this lovely quote in a article called The Bimbo's Laugh. By Marlo Granados.
Speaker: The archetypal bimbo is enthusiastic and good -natured. It's not just in the bimbo to be cruel. or rather i should say it's It is just not in the bimbo to be. rule. She only punches up. she pursues hyperfemininity to the extreme.
Speaker: And. times to the point of drag. She's glossy, voluminous and kind. The bimbo counters the assumption. that we would opt out of femininity if we could.
Speaker: In fact. She embraces it. Ultimately. The desire to absorb the identity of the bimbo comes from the fact that the bimbo is unburdened. whether or not This is a performance.
Speaker: End quote.
Speaker: And I think this is fascinating. First of all, We wouldn't abandon femininity if we could. It is that in and of itself is a powerful refutation. Of a world? that hates femininity.
Speaker: But this part about being unburdened. The bimbo is unburdened. What is the bimbo unburdened of? The way I understand it, the bimbo is unburdened of obligation to anything but.
Speaker: her fate. Anything but herself.
Speaker: and the bimbo. in
Speaker: Intentionally. enthusiastically choosing femininity? As the quote notes, sometimes to the point of drag. The bimbo? Isn't.
Speaker: As a performance of femininity. Unburdened. of the obligation to perform it. for the benefit of the system that seeks to regulate femininity.
Speaker: Inevitably when we talk about The Bimbo. The himbo comes up.
Speaker: The thing about the himbo. The himbo is the man. who is not participating in the making of manhood.
Speaker: the thing about the himbo is well his masculinity is undeniable It is not oppositional. The Himbo Never. fights to prove his masculinity.
Speaker: And in this way.
Speaker: The himbo, therefore, doesn't have to deny his femininity.
Speaker: It's my opinion that the bimbo and the himbo are not separate archetypes. The Bimbo and the Himbo are the same. possession of self?
Speaker: Operating. Exactly the same way. interpreted in two very different ways because of the perceived gender of the person performing it. So.
Speaker: The himbo gets perceived one way because he is perceived as masculine. The bimbo is perceived in another way because... She is perceived as feminine. Neither of these.
Speaker: Deny femininity. neither of them will sacrifice their values? for something external. they both demonstrate a deep Possession. of self.
Speaker: Just checking my notes here. I'm gonna grab a little bit of water
Speaker: So, bimbofication. began as a trend in the 2020s -ish. mostly through creators on TikTok.
Speaker: It. At the time it began to emerge, presented a girlishness that served as a contrast to the kind of capitalist grind culture feminine Feminism of the girl boss?
Speaker: And... As a trend, it has established itself as deeply racially inclusive and Queer inclusive, generally inclusive. despite the blonde whiteness of the bimbo in the cultural imagination the bimbofication trend as it's begun on tik -tok social media all of these bimbos It's inclusive. It's diverse.
Speaker: Anyone of any gender can be a bimbo. And as Chrissy Halpeka says, bimbo is for the girls, the gays, and the bays. Of course, it's a trend not without its criticism.
Speaker: As I was saying. Um, The bimbo is only beginning to recently be studied in a more academic context. for better or for worse.
Speaker: and It's because... The bimbo engages seriously. And what?
Speaker: The conventional world we live in would have us. Not take seriously. The bimbo engages seriously. in what the status quo belittles.
Speaker: To engage seriously, with what the status quo finds unserious, is to be unserious and therefore not worthy of consideration.
Speaker: Furthermore, I think it's worth taking seriously this idea of the bimbo as a fractured divine creatrix archetype. The Divine Creatrix was a cultural Figure.
Speaker: um Of. creativity of generative respect for femininity that is Now deeply. Subjugated.
Speaker: under our present day. And... This was a cultural moire that needed to be shattered by patriarchal - patriarchal empire. in order to win control of The civilizing forces of...
Speaker: the world. Um, Of. Women. Wow, I want to go on a huge tangent about... Roman history right now?
Speaker: I am not going to. But, um... in the interest of time but I can do my... bimbo deep dive into Roman Empire. If anyone is interested, just let me know.
Speaker: If we take seriously that the bimbo Echoes, the great mother archetype. Then of course course. the norms of our current world and civilization would want to us to consider her beneath Our regard.
Speaker: to consider her not a serious subject to consider her Not. um to consider her a dead end. in terms of
Speaker: progress in terms of personal growth. However, I would assert. that the bimbo is a Subversive. refuge.
Speaker: The modern bimbo engages consciously with aesthetic frivolity. Treating it with a deep... seriousness. unapologetically engaging in what the status quo considers ineligible for meaningful engagement.
Speaker: First of all, This is just fascinating, right? like You can just choose to be interested and choose to do the things. that you like and find interesting.
Speaker: In fact, It's what Hawkgirls do.
Speaker: And the political consciousness of the, it goes further, the political consciousness of the modern bimbo, satirizes the expectations of the status quo. The modern bimbo is both Unapologetically airheaded?
Speaker: and politically articulate. For example, we can imagine the modern bimbo saying, Duh. Of course I think everyone should have healthcare. I want healthcare. care I want everyone to have healthcare. care the bimbo.
Speaker: in being. On Sirius? to the status quo. can say.
Speaker: Things that should be obvious. But. If we're. Being more serious. we Oh, we have to be realistic. The bimbo does not need to be realistic. The bimbo only needs to be herself.
Speaker: i have a lot of quotes following and i'm trying to decide if i want to which of these i want to go through
Speaker: Here's the one I do want to read. This is from Kate Nash's essay on the bimbo. If the bimbo projects mindlessness. She protect. Excuse me. Let me try that again If the bimbo projects mindlessness. She protects what?
Speaker: that most treasured part of her body. which is the brain. The brain hides in plain sight. It is freedom not just from surveillance. But...
Speaker: What's the other word? the one that means surveils but also examines with bias. Scrutiny. End quote. I love this one because the bimbo Again, it's a protective mechanism.
Speaker: You protect. Your own thought.
Speaker: Bye. Answering bias with bias. You. it's It's just a genius tactic, and it's some amazing...
Speaker: It's self -protection.
Speaker: while also being self -love. It's I just, I love the bimbo. The radical logic of the bimbo goes like this.
Speaker: I am worthy of beauty. of pleasure. of ease. If I am worthy. of beauty. Pleasure. and ease. Other people are also worthy of it. So of course they should have it.
Speaker: It's simple. It's beautiful. It's hopeful.
Speaker: And that makes it... A refuge. for change. and possibility.
Speaker: To quote from a thesis, titled The Blonde Venus. The bimbo is a performance of resistance disguised as conformity. She mirrors the desire of the other by accepting projections.
Speaker: The bimbo recognizes the respectability. Rationality. Reason. The. Be realistic. All of those as the traps that they are.
Speaker: and refuses to perform them. The bimbo doesn't need to be taken seriously because she takes herself seriously.
Speaker: And in this way... The bimbo reclaims her power.
Speaker: We live in a world where we are not. in general, in possession of our own power. We are disempowered. dispossessed of our power. It is possessed in externally.
Speaker: meaning we are not self -possessed. And if we're not self -possessed, Right? Who possesses that power? What are we possessed by? We're possessed by so many normative structures. that maintain this hierarchical displacement and hoarding of power.
Speaker: It possesses us through both external and internal means. So... prisons, laws, these are one thing.
Speaker: There's also the influences of it on our worldview our sense of what is right our sense of what is possible and what we can expect.
Speaker: These ideas. The idea that things are just the way they are, there's nothing to be done about it. gender roles, career options, workplace structures. These are big ideas that can manifest in ways that affect our actions, behaviors, and what we think we can hope for ourselves in our community.
Speaker: This gets us into things like thought terminating cliches and other you know common sense things that discourage critical thinking, discussion, or introspection on a certain topic.
Speaker: Um, Thought terminating cliches can be used in a lot of ways. They can be used to ease cognitive discomfort when comfort confronted with new and challenging ideas, but they can also...
Speaker: Preserve. Stasis. they can prevent change. There. cliches that can serve to discourage individuals from trusting their own judgment or intuition.
Speaker: For example, things like don't rock the boat. toe the line if it ain't broke don't fix it and everything happens for a reason. Aiden walked her in. Their book Weaving Fate has a really wonderful quotation. on these thought terminating cliches and the kinds of dogmatic trance it can create.
Speaker: Here's the quote.
Speaker: The passing on of specific idea sets, which exert control on both our expectations and behaviors.
Speaker: Together these can calcify into something different from information. becoming a form of unintended. patterning or programming. the end result is much like the critical indoctrination we might receive in a religious family in a homogeneous religious culture where home church school and government all reinforce one set of truths.
Speaker: One set of acceptable perceptual filters. In some ways, this modern form is more insidious, as it is built to be invisible and comforting.
Speaker: So. I want you to take some time to look for the ways that Some of this dogmatic trance might be happening in your own Thought process.
Speaker: um how it might influence what you believe to be possible for yourself and your community. how it might limit you or hold you back from your desires out of common sense.
Speaker: The Bimbo and the Himbo Both offer the opportunity to begin to question this thought regime. regime by taking seriously your own.
Speaker: internal reflections without worrying about those external responses, those external judgments. And it offers an opportunity to the extent that it's possible in the here and now.
Speaker: To reclaim our power.
Speaker: So... We've talked a little bit about how the bimbo is a modern archetype for reclaiming power. for reclaiming a sense of self. Through the performance and embodiment of being exactly who you are without apology, without self -judgment.
Speaker: and that this includes embodying and pursuing things that The world around you might belittle, diminish or demonize. the bimbo offers us a path through sovereignty,
Speaker: that's maybe a little bit less of a path, right? There's no long or painful journey here. It's a recentering. are dropping in. You already know who you are.
Speaker: You just have to give yourself permission. to take that seriously.
Speaker: The bimbo moves us from possession. and self -possessed The Bimbo and the Himbo The memo is... And likewise, you are. and The cosmic bimbo?
Speaker: is. Gender aside, the bimbo is self -possessed. and that self -possession does and must look different. for different gender expressions, different people in this world.
Speaker: and each expression. of the bimbo is a reaction against the ways that gender is constructed in our world and used as a tool for control. The bimbo reclaims her power by going beyond the limits of what we are commonly allowed to take seriously.
Speaker: The bimbo takes herself seriously. and in doing so reclaims her power.
Speaker: More importantly, I think. The bimbo isn't interested in the self because there is a problem with self? or because she wants to perform better. at work or...
Speaker: you know, be more functional. Be more productive. She takes herself and her her desires seriously. at face value.
Speaker: without wondering What are they useful for?
Speaker: Bimbo practice is a practice that came to me at a time when I... desperately needed to know what I wanted in life. I knew that what I had...
Speaker: I didn't like. I didn't want that. I don't want this. But what do I want instead? I don't know. I don't know myself or my desires. well enough. I haven't taken them seriously enough.
Speaker: End. Bimbo practice came to me. At a time when I needed to just... Start taking myself seriously one tiny step at a time.
Speaker: The way that started was what I called sacred bimbo time. It was time that I set aside once a week to do nothing but exactly what I wanted.
Speaker: It is time for you to ask yourself. and answer the question What is it I desire?
Speaker: and then to practice giving it to yourself. And it's harder than it sounds. Because... What you want? One day might be just to scroll on Instagram and you have to give it to yourself without judging yourself like, oh, this isn't productive. Oh, I'm doom scrolling.
Speaker: No, you just have to do it. and let yourself enjoy it. Sometimes you just want to lay on the ground. and lay on the ground for an hour.
Speaker: And sometimes it's watching. a movie or reading a romance novel. And slowly, you start to notice what inspires you.
Speaker: What brings you joy? What? you truly want on a really deep level? And you start to build the capacity to take that seriously.
Speaker: I'm gonna conclude here. Because there's so much more I could say about the bimbo. But uh... you know. I've given an hour -long presentation on this. I've talked my friend's ears off about the bimbo.
Speaker: I could go on and on If you have questions, please do reach out. I do want to know and I want to answer your questions about. The bimbo I'm planning I probably do like a question and answer episode.
Speaker: maybe next week or the week after. So if you have questions, leave a comment, reach out to me, send a DM. And remember that the sacred bimbo ultimately is you.
Speaker: Because no god, No planet. no spirit, no power. Will, in the end, Save you. from that which seeks to possess you.
Speaker: The transcendent? and the ability to transcend. That which seeks to possess you in the here and now? is accessible. Here and now.
Speaker: The bimbo is here to help you. Find yourself. and save yourself.
Speaker: Claim your power. and create the life you want to see. So I hope you... Start to notice your desires. Start to...
Speaker: take yourself a little bit more seriously. Start to let yourself Do exactly. what you want. And if you are curious about exploring the path of... the cosmic bimbo creating your own sacred bimbo time You can book a free consult with me.
