Speaker: Hey, real quick before we get started, if you have been struggling with choosing what you would actually like to focus on with your pottery, I created a free seven -part audio program that will help you find exactly that what you would like to work on with your pottery. Click the link in the description or go to shapingyourpottery .com forward slash ace. I'll see you in there.

Speaker: Welcome to Shaping Your Pottery with Nick Torres where we help you discover your own unique voice so you can stand out from the crowd and have more fun making pottery so you make pottery that is truly amazing. What is up everybody it is Nick Torres here and in this episode I'm going to be talking about if do you really need to find your voice. So a lot of people are probably pondering the question do I

Speaker: actually need to find my own unique voice with my pottery. To that, I say yes and no. It's a bit of both. So you see, the thing is, a lot of people who are making pottery are just kind of in it to just be hobby potters, you know, and they want to try literally everything that they can get their hands on, which is fine. I still kind of do that myself.

Speaker: But if you really want to sell your pottery, make your pottery stand out, have, in my opinion, more fun, and just be more unique with your pottery, I think it's 10 times more important to actually have your voice, a voice that stands out from this crowd. And why do I say that? Well, in my opinion, over all the people that I have interviewed,

Speaker: The most successful people are those that are making what they like to make and they are different. Their pottery looks different. That is just in my opinion and I have interviewed a lot of people that say the same thing that if you just have fun and generally make what you want to make, your voice is going to show up. It's okay if you just want to be a hobby potter and try everything.

Speaker: It's fine if you want to do that. But if you really want to start making more money with your pottery, making your pottery stand out, feeling better about what you make, it is that much more important to just go and try to find your voice. And it's not that hard. Just go whatever your passions are, even outside of pottery, try to bring your outside passions into pottery itself.

Speaker: and then you're voicing and start showing up that way. Hey, thanks for listening to this episode of Shaping Your Pottery.
