Speaker: Was there an incident that we can point to where Lukaku's relationship with Tuchel went sour? Or was it a gradual thing? And of course, the interview with Sky Italia, but I mean, was it all of the above? Was it a certain thing? I mean, what happened with Tuchel?
Speaker: The following is a clip from this week's Italian football podcast.
Speaker: Yeah, I think there is probably, you know, signs that earlier on before the interview that it wasn't going well, you know, the way he was handled after his injury, you know, Romelu Kaki wasn't happy. And that's what he was criticizing in that interview, Sky Talia, he was saying, he was trying to say in a very clumsy way, which made it sound even worse that he wasn't happy with how Tom Zukul was playing him in the system, but also like how he was
Speaker: handling him in terms of his comeback from injury at the time. And then the interview was published like three weeks later. Romelu Kaka actually scored two in two. And the interview sometimes, when you've got a video interview like that, you hold it, you have production and you hold it for a few weeks. But the problem with that is that the context changed.
Speaker: he was no longer injured at that point, he was playing and he was scoring and to see him criticise the club at that point and talk so highly of Inter as well was quite an insult to Chelsea fans, it broke the relationship with Chelsea fans and
Speaker: There was another incident behind the scenes that wasn't televised or anything like that, but somebody told me once that Romelu Kaku was chatting to Thomas Tuchel watching a Premier League match, a Spurs game, and Thomas Tuchel said, there's your daddy about Antonio Conte. And it was just a joke, but apparently it didn't go down very well with Romelu Kaku.
