Speaker: Get ready for unlimited country music network.

Speaker: Subscribe directly to your Vizio TV.

Speaker: Hey, Jason, did you notice that James is whistling watermelon crawl a lot now?

Speaker: I don't want to watch Miracle on 34th Street again.

Speaker: It's April.

Speaker: What prompted that song, Jason?

Speaker: I think it was just, I know Jeff loves that song.

Speaker: He's a closet Billy Idol fan, actually.

Speaker: And Jeff at least knows four of his songs.

Speaker: So, so Moany Moany.

Speaker: Yep.

Speaker: Eyes Without a Face.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: White Wedding.

Speaker: That's right.

Speaker: And I don't know the, I don't know a third or fourth.

Speaker: I do.

Speaker: I'd have to think.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Go ahead, James.

Speaker: Rock the cradle of love.

Speaker: Oh yeah.

Speaker: Cradle of love.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Very underrated artist, but yeah, it's, it's kind of weird when he goes, God, no human grace, your eyes without a face.

Speaker: You're like, wait a minute.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: By the way, I think we might have to pay royalties on, I don't know how the, how does that song, how does that work?

Speaker: Sir, Billy Idol, if you are listening, we'd really appreciate to utilize two lines of lyrics from your masterpiece, Eyes Without a Face.

Speaker: I see.

Speaker: I see.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: So the risk is if you use enough to where it's distinguished, distinct, or I don't know what the right word is.

Speaker: but it's distinguishable as his song, then are you... I guess if you're monetizing it in any way, then you are responsible for paying some kind of royalty, correct?

Speaker: I believe you're right.

Speaker: That's exactly what it... If you charge money... Yeah, but it seems like only if we played his performance of it, right?

Speaker: Or if we perform the song.

Speaker: Yeah, so James, you're going to need to fire up the old whatever you've got.

Speaker: You've got a... Is that a...

Speaker: Is that a sitar made out of eucalyptus leaves?

Speaker: What do you got there?

Speaker: Behind me?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: It's a joke, obviously.

Speaker: Oh, okay.

Speaker: If someone knew where to get a sitar made out of eucalyptus leaves, yes.

Speaker: Jason, it's pronounced keytar.

Speaker: Keytar?

Speaker: I do have a keytar, actually.

Speaker: No, you don't.

Speaker: Of course, I do.

Speaker: Do you want to see it?

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: You actually have a keyboard guitar, a keytar?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: No, we're going to see or we're going to hear.

Speaker: Jason, what have we done?

Speaker: Here it goes.

Speaker: Ladies and gentlemen, James and his keytar.

Speaker: Oh, you're kidding.

Speaker: No.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: Oh, that's amazing.

Speaker: Got a guitar.

Speaker: I think it's got a guitar noise.

Speaker: Let's see.

Speaker: I don't know how to do the buttons.

Speaker: Does it have a strap?

Speaker: Do you wear it like a regular guitar?

Speaker: Or how does it work?

Speaker: I don't know the buttons.

Speaker: Obviously, I played it.

Speaker: Oh, here it goes.

Speaker: 024.

Speaker: What?

Speaker: Oh, my gosh.

Speaker: Is he programming a heart rate monitor?

Speaker: Why?

Speaker: Wait, but now you're playing it backwards, right?

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: Obviously, I'm not playing it enough.

Speaker: I should probably just... Yeah.

Speaker: The poor guy who accidentally... One question.

Speaker: I see a bright yellow, what looks like a Goodwill-looking sticker on that thing.

Speaker: No.

Speaker: What's that yellow sticker?

Speaker: Where is that from?

Speaker: It says, please only use the charger included in the box.

Speaker: If you use more than a 5-volt charger, it will cause smoke to the unit.

Speaker: It's like, man, that guy is really good at keytar.

Speaker: Nope.

Speaker: He used the wrong, he used the wrong adapter.

Speaker: It's his wish.com keytar.

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: I haven't reordered from Timu, but I did order.

Speaker: We talked about Timu a long time ago, but I'm starting to see some good stuff coming, coming from Timu, but I haven't bought anything yet.

Speaker: So is it Timu?

Speaker: Good stuff is in the, in the eye of the beholder.

Speaker: Or in the eyes without a face.

Speaker: Oh, yeah.

Speaker: That was a good one.

Speaker: We can use Billy Idol, though, if it's fair use.

Speaker: Like, if we talk about... I don't know enough about Billy Idol to say... So maybe to compare, like, did Billy Idol predate...

Speaker: Bowie's like let's dance because that's the other like kind of and then also with Bowie you've got what's his name now I think you're saying that well we'll come back to now Rogers he's very very interesting and very prolific but I think the idol let's dance certainly came after it would have had to come after the Bowie let's dance right

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: But White Wedding, I think, came at maybe 83, 84.

Speaker: I don't know, like, which one came first.

Speaker: But obviously, I mean...

Speaker: No stranger.

Speaker: I think Bowie probably artistically, creatively preceded Idol.

Speaker: And that's not a slight against Idol.

Speaker: It's like, hey, arguably they were both popular enough.

Speaker: Now it sounds like I'm good.

Speaker: But, you know, I like Billy Idol's stuff.

Speaker: I just, you know, in terms of 80s rock, I probably would go for, what's his name?

Speaker: Rick Astley over Rick Idol.

Speaker: Barry Idol.

Speaker: Barry Idol?

Speaker: Who's Barry Idol?

Speaker: Oh, wait.

Speaker: I'm Barry Idol.

Speaker: Hold on.

Speaker: Was there some alternative substance on the keytar?

Speaker: Yeah, you know.

Speaker: Barry Idol is Billy's brother.

Speaker: And there's Billy Manilow, who's Barry's brother.

Speaker: Everybody confuses him.

Speaker: Excellent duos table tennis team.

Speaker: I don't know how they did so well.

Speaker: Oh, man.

Speaker: Barry Idle, what the heck?

Speaker: Right next to Frank Stallone.

Speaker: There's an interesting Frank Stallone documentary that I watched on, I think, Hulu or Freebie.

Speaker: It's really good, actually.

Speaker: You know, because everyone's heard of it, right?

Speaker: Everyone's heard of this documentary of not Sly's brother.

Speaker: You had to go to Freebie or Hulu.

Speaker: It's like...

Speaker: It's like the Wendy's of subscription TV services, you know?

Speaker: What's wrong with Wendy's?

Speaker: Wendy's is just fine.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Did you see that Walmart bought the Vizio TV maker?

Speaker: Like they bought it outright.

Speaker: It's pretty nuts.

Speaker: Didn't they already sell Vizio TVs?

Speaker: Walmart did sell it, but the reason why they bought it is because they see it as like a platform.

Speaker: People already have Vizio TVs, so they could say, hey, well, like now you can move over to... Oh, like the Walmart network?

Speaker: Yeah, something like that, which is interesting, but I have a Vizio TV, so I'm also a little freaked out a little bit about it, but we'll see.

Speaker: Get ready for Unlimited Country Music Network.

Speaker: Subscribe directly to your Vizio TV.

Speaker: Oh, man.

Speaker: I don't want to see any more Joe Diffie videos.

Speaker: I don't want to.

Speaker: From Joe Diffie to Joe DiMachina.

Speaker: That's right.

Speaker: All the Joes.

Speaker: How many Tonya Tucker albums did she actually release?

Speaker: Well, James would know because he's got CMN streaming constantly.

Speaker: I do.

Speaker: CMT.

Speaker: CMT, sorry.

Speaker: So, Jason, if I understand you correctly, your theory is that if Walmart...

Speaker: leverages this Vizio TV purchase to make a Walmart network a la Prime Video is that just like having to watch an ad on YouTube or somewhere else before you can watch a video, you have to watch a late 80s, early 90s country video.

Speaker: Have you seen Chattahoochee by Alan Jackson?

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: It's like, hey, Jason, did you notice that James is whistling watermelon crawl a lot now?

Speaker: I don't want to watch Miracle on 34th Street again.

Speaker: It's April.

Speaker: Why is this Garth Brooks song unskippable?

Speaker: I didn't realize they had 11 seasons of Walker, Texas Ranger, but yet here we are.

Speaker: But you're only watching them 30 seconds at a time because it's what you have to watch to get to the next program.

Speaker: We get a call and they say, now up on the Vizio platform, the Smoky and the Bandit Marathon.

Speaker: And you're like, oh, okay, cool.

Speaker: But then by the third time he's calling in, well, Bandit.

Speaker: And you're like, okay, we're done.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Do you think they would have ever done like Smokey and the Bandit in space?

Speaker: You know, like, so if you think about just the evolution, because it's like Fast and the Furious.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: Fast and Furious.

Speaker: But I was thinking more like Police Academy.

Speaker: Oh, right.

Speaker: Or Ernest.

Speaker: Ernest.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: Ernest goes to.

Speaker: There was a space.

Speaker: Ernest.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: Ernest goes to.

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: I believe it was.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: OK.

Speaker: Ernest goes to Walmart.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: Let me tell you about these Viseo TVs.

Speaker: Sorry, Jim Varney.

Speaker: You only got one low fee per month for the full unlimited channel, you see.

Speaker: I think he's the late Jim Varney, right?

Speaker: Rest in peace.

Speaker: Also known as the best slink of all time from Toy Story.

Speaker: Oh, man.

Speaker: Oh, he was slinky, right?

Speaker: Originally, before he passed.

Speaker: And then Blake, the comedian Blake, the person who was on Home Improvement,

Speaker: The grunty guy.

Speaker: Not Tim Allen.

Speaker: You're talking about the guy eyes without a face, basically.

Speaker: He's a voice without a face, right?

Speaker: Barry.

Speaker: He's the... What was his name?

Speaker: The neighbor, right?

Speaker: Oh, no, not Wilson.

Speaker: Not Earl Heineman.

Speaker: Oh, okay.

Speaker: Of course, I know it as... I think his name is Blake something.

Speaker: Well, you're not talking about Richard Kind, right?

Speaker: Richard Kind was... Richard Karn.

Speaker: Karn.

Speaker: Oh, not Kind?

Speaker: Blake Clark.

Speaker: Richard Kind is Blake Clark.

Speaker: Blake Clark.

Speaker: He's a water boy.

Speaker: That guy.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: He became Slinky.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Slinky part.

Speaker: Farmer Fred.

Speaker: Farmer Fran or Farmer Fred, right?

Speaker: That's... Yeah.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: I flashed on something just now, and maybe it ties back to something, Jeff, because you lived in Los Angeles for, what, like 18 years almost, or how long?

Speaker: 2003?

Speaker: 18 years.

Speaker: How old do you think I am?

Speaker: No, no.

Speaker: You moved there in 2004 or 2005?

Speaker: When did you move there?

Speaker: 2004.

Speaker: 2004.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: And then you moved, you're in Dallas now, so you moved back to Dallas in 2020, or...?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: I guess 16 years.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Carry the one.

Speaker: It's a leap year.

Speaker: Give me a pass.

Speaker: Well, remember the detour to remember moving back to Houston.

Speaker: So, but that was only, but Houston was, I guess, technically what March through like September.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: When, when, when you lived in Los Angeles, you were technically around six,

Speaker: like scenery that was like kind of famous.

Speaker: So what I mean is like you could watch a movie and say, oh, like they filmed that at Griffith Observatory or whatever, or Hollywood sign.

Speaker: So you sometimes when you watch a movie, you can recognize maybe sometimes where they filmed it.

Speaker: Absolutely.

Speaker: And I think the only notable thing when we were kids growing up, I think they filmed powder in our like community.

Speaker: Yep.

Speaker: And then also a postcards from the edge or something like that, or another movie.

Speaker: I didn't know that.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: There's another movie that that's out there.

Speaker: Rushmore of course was filmed in Houston, but, and then of course, like what's the other one?

Speaker: Like Eve's Bayou or something like that.

Speaker: Jason's lyric, one of those movies.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: But I'm saying all that because do you ever, like now that I live in Minnesota, the only notable movies that we have that were filmed here were like the Mighty Ducks movies.

Speaker: And nobody's like, oh, that was filmed in Minnesota.

Speaker: Most everything in Minnesota, you can film it up in Canada or whatever.

Speaker: Well, what about like Grumpy Old Men?

Speaker: That wasn't in Minnesota?

Speaker: No, it was.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: But if you were to say famous Minnesota movies, like most, kind of the most notable one would be Mighty Ducks.

Speaker: Most people would say, oh, Mighty Ducks was filmed in...

Speaker: you know, Minnesota and just Los Angeles.

Speaker: What about Miracle, the other hockey movie?

Speaker: I don't know about where that was filmed.

Speaker: I don't think Miracle was actually filmed there because it's Lake Placid is where it took place.

Speaker: Oh, I see.

Speaker: Herb Brooks is from Minnesota, so I don't know.

Speaker: And half the team was, right?

Speaker: Because they were all from like Minnesota and Boston.

Speaker: I think so.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I don't really remember the premise of the hockey movie.

Speaker: This is where we probably need dad because this is where dad knows that movie.

Speaker: He's like, oh, it's great.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Thanks, dad.

Speaker: But dad never played hockey.

Speaker: He never played hockey, but he loves that movie.

Speaker: It's like Miracle or Mighty Ducks?

Speaker: Miracle.

Speaker: Miracle.

Speaker: Oh, okay.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Wouldn't it be great if dad like loved Mighty Ducks 7 or whatever the last.

Speaker: Son, go grab me my 99 Bombay jersey.

Speaker: Like what?

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Quack, quack, quack.

Speaker: You were starting to ask me about do I remember anything from LA or... More like, do each of us have like, do we watch a movie or a show?

Speaker: And it's like, I've seen that because I've watched Mighty Ducks.

Speaker: There's a scene in Mighty Ducks 2 where they basically do a montage and they basically film it at famous Minneapolis, Minnesota locations basically.

Speaker: But it's like, it doesn't make... If you follow the logic of like where they actually travel, it's filmed like a montage.

Speaker: So you're going from like...

Speaker: if you're local to minnesota this is what's relevant you're going from like the mall of america to like downtown minneapolis to like richfield to like minnetonka it just doesn't make sense and so what i was curious if um either of you have examples of like something you pass by maybe every day or just like oh i remember when they filmed this there um and and like oh that's neat that i got to see you know where they filmed this famous scene like we're not passing by the rocky steps every day no nobody's in philadelphia or whatever but

Speaker: Well, the LA references I'll make.

Speaker: So there's quite a few, obviously, because of, you know, how prolific the film and television business is there.

Speaker: So I would say there's two shows in particular where, you know, if you watch those shows, you can see LA again.

Speaker: I say two shows slash movies.

Speaker: So the movie is Collateral.

Speaker: And so if you watch Collateral with...

Speaker: Tom Cruise.

Speaker: Yeah, with Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx.

Speaker: That was amazing.

Speaker: And you see all parts of LA, including a nightclub.

Speaker: There's a pivotal scene at a nightclub called El Rodeo, which is no longer there.

Speaker: But Karen, my wife, when she was in college,

Speaker: and a friend went to El Rodeo and they definitely should not have gone to El Rodeo because that place was intense.

Speaker: There were some hard partiers and, you know, there's always a risk of like somebody slipping something into your drink.

Speaker: We will elaborate beyond that.

Speaker: But that was a that was a heavy place to go.

Speaker: And so they went to El Rodeo one time.

Speaker: So but Collateral is really cool because you get to see you get to see parts of L.A.

Speaker: I would say Heat actually, now that I think about it, also a great Michael Mann film.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Has parts of L.A.

Speaker: But the TV show and of course it was filmed in L.A.

Speaker: about L.A.

Speaker: Southland.

Speaker: And that that to me, Southland was one of the best shows.

Speaker: It's in my top 10 of TV shows of all.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: It's about LAPD.

Speaker: It's really, really interesting.

Speaker: And so you see all these these spots.

Speaker: The last one that I'll give you before I toss it back to you guys.

Speaker: So back to the future, the mall, the Twin Pines Mall.

Speaker: Yeah, it was actually filmed.

Speaker: The exterior shots are from Puente Hills Mall, Puente Hills Mall in actually just close to where

Speaker: I would say 15, 20 minutes tops from where Karen and I used to live.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: That's pretty cool because, of course, Back to the Future is an iconic movie.

Speaker: The scene at the mall with the DeLorean is iconic.

Speaker: And so when you see the mall in person, it's cool.

Speaker: Did we return pants at that mall?

Speaker: That sounds weird, like Pivot, but I think I've been to that mall with you.

Speaker: And I think I was in the, like I went with you and Karen and I was in the car and we returned pants.

Speaker: Not the two notable things.

Speaker: This mall, they filmed Back to the Future and we returned pants.

Speaker: Yeah, I don't think there's a plaque anywhere that says we returned pants.

Speaker: And why would we have returned pants at the mall?

Speaker: I don't remember.

Speaker: This is very, this is taking a really interesting turn from Marty to, did we return pants at that mall?

Speaker: Just, just curious.

Speaker: It's like, I suppose it's, it's possible.

Speaker: I mean, I don't know that I keep a good track of,

Speaker: clothing items that I buy in return.

Speaker: And was where the pants defective?

Speaker: Like now I'm focused on the pants.

Speaker: Like what was happening with the pants?

Speaker: Were they too tight, too loose?

Speaker: Were they like, yeah, jorts?

Speaker: Were they, you know, what was the, what was the issue?

Speaker: It was a sport.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: It was more like, because you're in Los Angeles.

Speaker: And so you're in these like,

Speaker: notably famous places.

Speaker: So you don't know.

Speaker: I'm talking about the pants.

Speaker: I'm still focused on the pants.

Speaker: What, what was happening with the pants?

Speaker: I don't remember.

Speaker: I don't remember.

Speaker: I think it was just like, if I would have realized that like, if it's a sidebar, you said, Hey, this, did you know that this is where they filmed, you know, back to the future?

Speaker: I see.

Speaker: That's what I'm so glad your inner dialogue decided to make an appearance tonight.

Speaker: I was waiting for it.

Speaker: I'm like, wait, where is it going to be?

Speaker: Did we return pants there?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I don't remember.

Speaker: Slack to the future.

Speaker: And when did James Slack to the future?

Speaker: That's terrible.

Speaker: That's a penalty for sure.

Speaker: That is a penalty.

Speaker: You are penalized right now.

Speaker: All right.

Speaker: Well, that's enough about LA and dockers or pants of any kind.

Speaker: Jason, you got any from Colorado or Texas or Minnesota?

Speaker: I think for Minnesota, I worked at Eaton Prairie Center, which is where they film Mall Rats.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: But it was after the renovation that they had done it.

Speaker: And you guys have both met Kevin.

Speaker: Kevin Smith.

Speaker: And that crew, right?

Speaker: Because you guys saw, you guys were at the premiere of Clerks 3.

Speaker: Mm-hmm.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: We got to go.

Speaker: And I remember Danny Trejo about the nicest human being.

Speaker: Talk about heat.

Speaker: Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker: He's in Mallrats.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: He's not Mallrats.

Speaker: He's in Clerks 3.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Talk about a career.

Speaker: What an interesting thread, not pant related, that we're weaving here.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: And he was one of the nicest guys ever.

Speaker: Hey, I really appreciate you guys coming out here.

Speaker: It's like, whoa, like you're thanking us?

Speaker: We're here.

Speaker: And then he was in the movie for what?

Speaker: Four and a half seconds.

Speaker: And he was there treating it as though he was a contributing member, but like I've heard he's just that level of guy.

Speaker: And I remember because he's got his Trejos tacos.

Speaker: And I said, I've heard great things about your tacos.

Speaker: He's like, oh, I'd love for you to come by.

Speaker: It'd be really great to have you.

Speaker: It's like, whoa.

Speaker: Well, I bought one of our California trips in the last year.

Speaker: I went to the donut shop there in LA to Trejo's Donuts, got way too many donuts for just the four of us, for Karen and I and my in-laws.

Speaker: And I bought a Trejo's Tacos, Trejo's Donuts coffee mug with machete on it, you know, with Danny Trejo.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: So that's one of my coffee mugs.

Speaker: And so...

Speaker: I think I spent $100 between like kind of cool novelty donuts and the coffee mug.

Speaker: And Karen was like, please don't spend $100 at a donut shop again.

Speaker: That's not a good use of our resources.

Speaker: How good were the donuts though?

Speaker: I've heard- The donuts were amazing.

Speaker: No, the donuts were amazing.

Speaker: And so, and they had some really cool flavors.

Speaker: And, you know, again, the coffee cup itself is a really well-made cup.

Speaker: By the way, we are talking about some fairly innocuous, we're talking about pants and coffee cups.

Speaker: No.

Speaker: Cocos and donuts.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I was following, I was tracking with you.

Speaker: I mean, I was into, I'm like, man, I'm going to have to, next time I have to go to LA, I'm going to have to go there.

Speaker: Absolutely.

Speaker: It's worth the drive.

Speaker: Highly, highly recommend it.

Speaker: 10 out of 10 recommend.

Speaker: So you were saying Eden Prairie.

Speaker: Mallrats, what else?

Speaker: Was one of them.

Speaker: Obviously, Purple Rain, right?

Speaker: You get to see First Avenue, which is prominent feature in that particular movie.

Speaker: And Paisley Park, is it built up around or is that?

Speaker: At the time, Paisley Park didn't exist.

Speaker: It was out remote at that time.

Speaker: And now the city has sort of come to it.

Speaker: I see.

Speaker: But yeah, it's...

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: It's kind of a travesty if you ask me that, you know, the museum opened up and you can kind of see certain things he didn't want as an artist to be released are just like being shot out there out of a cannon.

Speaker: And it's like, you know, dead guy's merchandise.

Speaker: So I feel...

Speaker: not really happy about buying it.

Speaker: Because I just, you know, as an artist is like, he's, he's probably the most impactful musician for me to have ever listened to.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: His super bowl.

Speaker: I think we talked, did we talk about this on a prior call, his halftime show where he's playing purple rain in the rain?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Like it started raining in the middle of purple rain.

Speaker: Like that was amazing.

Speaker: Prolific.

Speaker: I mean, there's no, there's no other way to put it.

Speaker: And

Speaker: For those that don't know, dog I have, her name is Paisley.

Speaker: So for that exact reason.

Speaker: And didn't you also become friends with his godson?

Speaker: I always remember dad told some story about Jason might go have Thanksgiving at Prince's house.

Speaker: So it was Prince's brother's house.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: And yes.

Speaker: The Charlie Murphy too?

Speaker: Charlie Murphy to Prince's.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: He's about the nicest guy you could ever meet.

Speaker: Super, super sweet.

Speaker: So his real name is Prince Rogers Nelson.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: But I don't know if he took his dad's name.

Speaker: So his half brother, I believe, but they're just this brother.

Speaker: Got invited by way of mutual friends.

Speaker: Not virtual friends, mutual friends.

Speaker: And they said, hey, you want to come to Thanksgiving with us?

Speaker: And I was like, sure.

Speaker: Just out of gratitude.

Speaker: And then they said, yeah, we're going to go to this place, but try to be...

Speaker: cool.

Speaker: And I was like, okay, I don't care.

Speaker: And then friend was just like, yeah, by the way, he might make an appearance.

Speaker: I was like, what, what are you talking about?

Speaker: He might make, and they said, Prince.

Speaker: And they go, what?

Speaker: And then they went, yeah.

Speaker: And he says, so just kind of play cool if he shows up.

Speaker: Well, he didn't show up.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Like, so it was fine.

Speaker: And there you had worn your chaps for all.

Speaker: That's right.

Speaker: I wore my high heels for nothing.

Speaker: I was so mad.

Speaker: I put on my eyeliner.

Speaker: I was on point.

Speaker: I had my hair all curled up and like proper looking.

Speaker: You looked like you were part of the new generation, right?

Speaker: New power generation.

Speaker: That's right.

Speaker: I was a part of it.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: But there was definitely some circumstances that were interesting.

Speaker: Without getting myself in trouble, I would just say the prayer, it was one of the funniest things I've ever been involved in for Thanksgiving dinner.

Speaker: That's really cool.

Speaker: Yeah, I always remembered, and I don't know that we ever talked about it, but I was like, wait, did Jason have Thanksgiving with Prince or a member of Prince's family before?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I can tell you the carpet in that house was the nicest carpet I have ever seen in any house.

Speaker: It wasn't at Prince's house.

Speaker: It was Prince's brother's house.

Speaker: No, it was his brother's house, but it was a very nice house.

Speaker: But you could tell like his brother probably walked in was like, we got to fix the carpet in this place.

Speaker: And you're like, okay, all right.

Speaker: What do you mean?

Speaker: He's like, I'm going to send a guy over tomorrow.

Speaker: He's going to be here.

Speaker: So just go ahead and make sure all the furniture is off the floor.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: All right.

Speaker: Thanks.

Speaker: Thanks, older brother.

Speaker: I just want you to know this is going to be taken care of.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: You're the only one who can pull off a Prince voice.

Speaker: I think you've got the deepest baritone of all three of us.

Speaker: Thank you.

Speaker: I could be wrong.

Speaker: But I believed you as Prince just now.

Speaker: I appreciate it.

Speaker: It's not a mockery.

Speaker: I mean, for me, I respect, but I just think that's the funniest thing because it definitely wouldn't have been his brother unless his brother was like an owner of a carpet store, which again, plausible because you never know.

Speaker: He wrote the Empire carpet jingle, actually.

Speaker: Oh, no.

Speaker: 800-588-2300.

Speaker: empire.

Speaker: Yep.

Speaker: Today.

Speaker: And he hit that guitar riff.

Speaker: And they're like, you know what?

Speaker: We're just going to change this to a piano synth.

Speaker: That's okay.

Speaker: You don't have to be rich to cover my floor or something like that.

Speaker: That's pretty good, James.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Okay, so Jason, that's, sorry we derailed there, but.

Speaker: Oh, you're good.

Speaker: Any other places that kind of memorable there?

Speaker: Or Colorado, right?

Speaker: I mean, you've got some Colorado places too, I would imagine.

Speaker: Well, Dumb and Dumber.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Oh, I thought you were calling James and I Dumb and Dumber.

Speaker: I thought you were just saying, well, Dumb and Dumber.

Speaker: Harry, Lloyd, it's time I tell you.

Speaker: No.

Speaker: So people think that it was filmed in Aspen.

Speaker: It wasn't.

Speaker: I mean, parts of it were filmed in California, but the majority of it was filmed in Estes Park.

Speaker: James knows this because James has been there to that hotel.

Speaker: I just watched it last week as well.

Speaker: Did you really?

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: I did.

Speaker: So it's fresh in my mind and it's short.

Speaker: Like, believe it or not, like it's shorter than we think.

Speaker: By the time they get to Aspen, quote unquote, there's like 30 minutes left in the movie.

Speaker: Like that's how short it is.

Speaker: Oh, you're saying that Colorado, the Aspen part is short, not the whole movie.

Speaker: Yeah, because you don't expect it to go as fast as it does, but it's great.

Speaker: So Dumb and Dumber was filmed at the Stanley Hotel, and the Stanley Hotel was known as a backdrop for The Shining.

Speaker: So anything else for you, Jason?

Speaker: I don't think so.

Speaker: I mean, it's probably going to...

Speaker: I didn't realize it today.

Speaker: Today was movie trivia night.

Speaker: We're going to figure out where the location of the movies being filmed were actually filmed.

Speaker: All right, James, bring us home because we wove a pretty good tapestry of pants, coffee, movies, prints.

Speaker: So what do you got?

Speaker: The best I have is, and as relevant as it was, is we went to a tournament.

Speaker: I said it really weird.

Speaker: Sorry.

Speaker: Tournament.

Speaker: Tournament.

Speaker: We went to a tournament in downtown Houston.

Speaker: I forget the name of this school, but it was a school.

Speaker: And then I didn't find out until later, but they filmed the movie Rushmore there.

Speaker: Oh, that would have probably been Bel Air, I think.

Speaker: No, it was like an independent.

Speaker: Yeah, it was like an independent school, maybe St.

Speaker: Mary's or something.

Speaker: By independent, do you mean a private school?

Speaker: Yes, independently private.

Speaker: That's what they call it.

Speaker: But they did film some portion.

Speaker: They filmed it all around Houston or whatever.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: What?

Speaker: James, your phraseology.

Speaker: It was an independent school.

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: And in the fall time, actually, we prefer to call it the autumn of...

Speaker: The year 1998, the producers for the movie Rushmore said, we need to find an independent school.

Speaker: And Bill Murray said, do you mean a private school?

Speaker: They say, no, no, no.

Speaker: Independent.

Speaker: As opposed to a- Dependent?

Speaker: A codependent.

Speaker: A codependent school.

Speaker: We don't belong to a school district.

Speaker: We make our own decisions here.

Speaker: We're very independent.

Speaker: But it was also a tournament that I won a couple of trophies at.

Speaker: And Jeff, it might have been actually even two when you were... I feel like it was when I was a sophomore, but not when you were... Because you wouldn't have been there.

Speaker: But anyway, some of the places where they filmed the movie, I was... I didn't know until after, like long after, that they had filmed it around the same time.

Speaker: So...

Speaker: I thought it was pretty cool.

Speaker: But yeah, that's pretty much it.

Speaker: And then sometimes I'll pause that movie and be like, I sat there.

Speaker: Like I'm not inserting myself into the movie Rushmore.

Speaker: But yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: And quick note on that.

Speaker: When you pause the movie and you exclaim, I sat there, I've been there.

Speaker: Is anyone else in the room with you?

Speaker: Or are you just commenting to yourself?

Speaker: It's pretty much just me.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Could you get like a, could you get a bird, a dead bird Petey that you could at least talk to when you're, when you're commenting about.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: It's like, yep.

Speaker: Just me and Petey watching, watching this movie Rushmore.

Speaker: I was not well, cause I was talking to like,

Speaker: I was talking to my coworker about whether an animal would be, cause I'm single, but like, I don't really have anybody to bounce ideas off of.

Speaker: Um, so rather than just talk to myself, like I want to be able to talk to you guys, but it's also, it's weird for me to call in and just be like,

Speaker: hey, I just watched short circuit and you know where they drove across Astoria and you know, number five flies off the bridge.

Speaker: I drove across that bridge once like nobody cares like you guys wouldn't respond to that.

Speaker: Well, that that would be appropriate.

Speaker: I think for a text.

Speaker: I don't know that it's it requires a phone call phone call.

Speaker: Yeah, I mean everybody stop.

Speaker: Did you know?

Speaker: Hey, I'm not watching the movie with you.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: Unless I lived in Astoria and like it was notable that like

Speaker: Every day I drove across this bridge.

Speaker: It was like, oh, driving across the short circuit bridge again or, you know, hanging out where the Goonies came out of the wall, wherever the, now he spoiled the Goonies.

Speaker: Kindergarten cop.

Speaker: Yeah, kindergarten cop.

Speaker: Now I'm up at the top of this.

Speaker: Why am I at the school?

Speaker: Because I'm doing a presentation on Billy Idol to the kindergartners or whatever.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Wow.
