Baker Plbg: I want to talk about... disagreement. disagreement Amen. oh Oh, it's still going. I wanna talk about disagreement. for a minute.
Baker Plbg: and how and why It's important. to be able to have Um, real meaningful conversations.
Baker Plbg: In disagreement and that doesn't mean that at the end of the day i just ah I agree with you and you agree with me and we all walk away happy. Go lucky. Kumbaya. That is not how life works. That is not how history works. That is not how humanity works.
Baker Plbg: And I... I'm sick. um so I am. I'm sick of it. How everything. becomes some trope, some...
Baker Plbg: um it becomes name -calling. it. uh becomes denigrating. for To what end? If you're not able to have a meaningful conversation about the things that are important to you.
Baker Plbg: then... I don't know what you're doing out there. What are you doing out there if you cannot have a civil disagreement?
Baker Plbg: was someone... on the Internet. Um, And I have said things and done things that... not everybody agrees with.
Baker Plbg: And that is fine. I think that's sort of been. The mantra. certainly my intent here is to sort of shine a light on a different point of view.
Baker Plbg: whether you agree with it or not, and hopefully have a meaningful discussion about that. That is the only way ideas grow and develop. It's the only way We have a you know, it's and it's not related. It's not isolated to al Alberta. It's everywhere.
Baker Plbg: everywhere from. sensational trials going on at the moment to the independence movement here in Alberta.
Baker Plbg: to the tariffs to what's happening in america what's happening in ukraine what's happening Um, in in Israel, Palestine.
Baker Plbg: There are serious disagreements. And. Everybody's marching around like they have all the answers Nobody has all the answers. These situations are far more complex.
Baker Plbg: uh, End. deep and intricate than we care to give them so it's you know it is Good. intellectually dishonest. But everybody does it. Oh, you're a loser. You're this you're that you're blah blah blah blah blah And. Nothing ever comes of it.
Baker Plbg: It becomes the... Elementary, junior high. playground where you just sort of get together and call each other names maybe throw you know a couple of uh uh wrestle.
Baker Plbg: and and then walk away claiming victory because the other guy i don't know didn't get enough shots in i don't know what the case is
Baker Plbg: The only way that I have learned anything in this life. is through... uh, failing. And through having difficult discussions.
Baker Plbg: with people. that disagree with me. Um. It's been an interesting sort of ah development as the boys are getting better and better at their jobs. Forever, for the last decade, it's been my way or the highway. Do what I say.
Baker Plbg: And that's just how this works. And I have said from the beginning unless you have Unless you can come up with something better. then it's my way or no way.
Baker Plbg: And. over the last year or so. The boys have said, hey, I'm going to do it this way. And I can't find. Anything wrong with that way. I wouldn't be the way that I would do it And we let let them go with it. and As with everything in this life, there's some good and some bad that comes from it.
Baker Plbg: We learned some things. We learn but what not to do or for the next one And that's because the technology is ever changing. changing.
Baker Plbg: And anybody that says I have it all figured out. is lying to you. or selling you something. And I certainly don't have. I have very little figured out I have a really...
Baker Plbg: Good hold on about this much. of my life in the world Still you know it's about it's about snowball size And the world is obviously this ginormous thing.
Baker Plbg: And there are there are days that I just get tired of people. you know, in the DMs. Oh, you're this or you're that or. Why don't you just do this? I'm like, why don't we have a real.
Baker Plbg: conversation about it. And then they... They disappear. ghost me. it's over because they run back to their little nest.
Baker Plbg: and soothe their feelings and ah read stuff that they agree with and say yeah that's the way it should be and that's the way these things work And I...
Baker Plbg: I'm not done talking about this. We need to find a way to... put our feelings grow up a little bit grow up a lot and put our feelings in check and actually have a conversation.
Baker Plbg: Not a tweet, not a thread, not an Instagram post. Oh. uh you know oh this is the way things are and this is the way i see the world and you know It's over and shut, and anybody else... said it even has A.
Baker Plbg: iota of difference is a trader. a nazi A racist. uh a misogynist Okay. That's how you want to live your life in this black and white world. It is interesting that the, you know, the world.
Baker Plbg: Is not black and white but That's how people want to live. when it comes to their opinions. When it comes to others. It's like, oh, that you know that's just a big mash of BS.
Baker Plbg: and I don't know how to fix that.
Baker Plbg: um other than being open and willing to engage with anyone at any time about anything. And so if there's something that... is, uh... you know sort of got you Square that up. Oh that makes it Boom.
Baker Plbg: Anyway. um perplexed or you want to have an honest discussion about then let's have an honest discussion about real things As usual, those are my thoughts not yours.
Baker Plbg: and And that is not people have taken that as sort of a. um
Baker Plbg: dismissive comment now. It is not dismissive at all. It's like this is how I see the world. And you're welcome to. We're i'm open to having a conversation. to that being my mind being changed and there are people that have changed my mind on a great many things and I'm a better person for it, and I'm smarter for it.
Baker Plbg: and I'm more well well -rounded for it. Um, and that's one of the best things I love about my life is that there are people in my life that will challenge my ideas.
Baker Plbg: And. um
Baker Plbg: Allow me to have real discussions about real things. and sort of flush out my feelings about it. Because I have feelings too.
Baker Plbg: And then... Uh... Once that's come through that... And we all have this we're all humans. It is humanity. Um, Once I'm through.
Baker Plbg: dealing with my feelings, I'm ready to have a real discussion about it. And. uh the Invitation continues to be out there. There are very few that will take it.
Baker Plbg: Have taken it some of them have chimed in i'm like okay let's set something up and then It's like Tinder. they're here Then I got one. Anyway.
Baker Plbg: uh Love to have a chat. Again, I am not done talking about that. I think it's important that we have. real conversations about real things.
Baker Plbg: Again. My thoughts. Not yours. Have a fabulous. protein. day.
