Sandro Tonali: Milan's Metronome

We do have to just talk about Sandro Tonali. He's a metronome. He is Milan's metronome. There is still improvement there, because again, he's young, but already at such a young age, he's there. I mean, he has been their most consistent player and probably their most important player in terms of how important he is for both phases of play defensively, creatively. He's the one that ties everything together.

Tonali's Scoring Potential

I think when he does what he did late against Lazio, he will do that more often. I think he'll score much more as well. But it was a deserved goal for him. I thought he was excellent. I really thought

was

Italy's Lineup Dilemma with Tonali

good. It was interesting that on the day that Giorginio missed another penalty, worst of a lot in the last year, Tonali goes out and puts out that performance. And I just think that going forward now with Italy, we spoke about this a few weeks ago, you know, with there being like a month, a year, sorry, until the Euros qualifiers start. I mean, I think that Roberto Mancini should now be looking to probably play Tonali instead of Giorginio at least for

for the rest of this year and try and integrate him because he's definitely ready.

Tonali's Fit in Italy's Formation

I think the only question mark is, can he play, if it's going to be a four through three, can he play as that deeper lie in midfield, the role that Giorginio plays? And obviously with Milan, they play four, two, three, one, and he's one of the two. Whereas for Italy, he'll be one of the three, three, and whether or not 100% suited to that position, maybe not. But I think that Italy, I think Manchini definitely needs to start trying to integrate him into that three man midfield now.
