Introduction and Context

Perisic's Move to Tottenham

Speaker
Ivan Percic is reuniting with Antonio Conte at Spurs. Nima, how big of a blow is this? I don't think it is that big of a blow because given that he's 33 years old, the financial predicament that Inter are in, he had his best season, this season that just ended.

The following is a clip from this week's Italian football podcast.

Inter Milan's Strategy Post-Perisic

00:00:34
Speaker
Inter can't afford to pay him the kind of money that he wants.
00:00:38
Speaker
And they've already got a replacement in Robin Gorson's thanks to the foresight and brilliant directorship, sport directorship of Pepe Marotta. To me, shouldn't be a big blow at all.

Perisic's Premier League Ambitions

00:00:49
Speaker
So I look at the situation as Ivan Perisic has been close to the Premier League several times. It's never really materialized. Now it has. This is his last chance. He's going there to play with a coach who, you know, the transformation that he underwent under Conte is unique.
00:01:06
Speaker
I mean, this is probably, as Carlos said a couple of episodes ago, it's probably one of the biggest miracles that Antonio Conte has ever done.

Kulusevsky's Social Media Antics

00:01:13
Speaker
Oh, definitely. And he'll be able to join up, Carlo, with one of your favorite players who seems to have had a tweet of yours in his drafts for some months now, yeah? Luzefsky, clearly an admirer of yours, yeah?
00:01:28
Speaker
I don't care. I think it's just insecure. That demonstrates to me everything that we saw at Juventus with the brittle personality, bad body language, head down, not being involved, not wanting the ball, just not looking like he had the mentality and the personality to play for a club as big as Juventus. The fact that you put out something like that, I don't care.
00:01:49
Speaker
From Kulesevsky's point of view, as a professional, I find it very insecure. And for me, it kind of reinforces what I said about does he have the mentality? And if you see the full context of what I'd been saying at the time, and then in the previous weeks, it was about Juventus doing an amazing transfer deal, which it was. However, you rate them as players, they made 70 million for two players who didn't even get in their first team that never would do. They use that money to buy a player who will become a great player.
