World of Ae'oene Ep. 23: Return to Glori

S1 E23 · World of Ae'oene: Stories of Legend

With the portal back to Glori reopened, our team of adventurers finally leaves Undor behind - hopefully for good. There they get some much needed rest, but only after fighting for that too. Now they have a night to kill, some stress to burn off, and some of our party get a little too happy. Drunken trauma bonding? Hell yeah.

Social Media Recap

00:01:25
Speaker
record some more. In fact, we just recorded last week, and it's rare we get to go two weeks in a row. But I gotta say, it always feels good. That's right. ah One thing I should have done last episode, actually. So if any of our audience pays attention to our social media and came to last episode and got disappointed...
00:01:41
Speaker
I've got you this time. It's okay. Jack, we had a social whole like thing going. I need to know what's what's your favorite Pokemon and what Pokemon best represents Yellen? My favorite Pokemon is ah it's kind of a toss-up. I really love Turtwig, and I really love Oshawott.
00:01:57
Speaker
Oh, dude, Turtwig's the bomb. I do think Yellen and Oshawott share some similarities. I gotta give you credit. I think that's good. I think that's pretty good. So anyway, if anybody pays attention to episode. The for when this episode releases... my god, everybody's gonna forget! I know, I know!
00:02:15
Speaker
It's going to go sound like June. I told the socials. I know it was it was so short sighted to me, but I told in that social post, I said, you're going to come back to episode start of episode 22 to hear Yellens because he wasn't available that week, you know?
00:02:29
Speaker
oh What is this planning, dude? I know, but hey, for anybody that listens, maybe they'll go check out, you know, they'll go check for getting out the beginning of our socials. Yeah, exactly. Scroll back through hundreds of posts to find the relevant Pokemon one.
00:02:46
Speaker
Stay after the episode for a nice treat. Oh my God. Okay. Well, anyway, let's go ahead and get into the episode,

Maeve's Portal Escape Recap

00:02:53
Speaker
y'all. Let's do it.
00:03:07
Speaker
you
00:03:12
Speaker
As we left off the party previously, they had gone on this adventure to finally save Maeve, but, unmanaged to them, Maeve saved herself. They were met by that surprise when she dove through a portal while they were waiting for her into the arms of her friends.
00:03:28
Speaker
Some time before and some time after took place in which some conversations that needed to be had were had. Some got heated, some were emotional, some were lighthearted. Specifically referring to the time at the bar with Yellen and Talira. If you missed it, you should go watch it.
00:03:43
Speaker
Listen? Listen's the right word. As the party was finally reunited, conversations were had. It is time to return to Glory as a message was sent. Eric had prepared, ah rather made sure, the portal back to Glory had been prepared and was still available in some sense of the manner.
00:04:01
Speaker
And shortly after getting that message, we we now rejoin the party as they are getting up from the table to head out of the tavern.

Preparation for Return to Glory

00:04:12
Speaker
All right. Are we all ready?
00:04:14
Speaker
i yeah think so. um Calden? Yep. All good to go Yana?
00:04:25
Speaker
Okay. Okay. I think I can get us there. i have a pretty good memory for the way things like this work. Good, because I don't... Because, you know, i was unconscious.
00:04:43
Speaker
We just hear crickets chirping. Trying to be funny. um do you have my sword? I gave it back to you.
00:04:54
Speaker
ah did You have your sword. it's on your he it's It's on your hip. So it is.
00:05:03
Speaker
Are you alright?
00:05:07
Speaker
Do you need someone to carry it for you? No, I'm definitely… Do you need someone to carry you? And he looks at Yellen. i yeah I mean, I guess I could carry you as well.
00:05:19
Speaker
I have feet. I... Yep. She doesn't have, like, shoes on though, right? none of those just looks down at first No shoes? um Actually, i think maybe someone should carry you.
00:05:32
Speaker
i can always. That's not a problem. and we can find some shoes for you on the way. Actually, should we just have you guys wait here? We'll get some shoe thy shoes.
00:05:46
Speaker
all right. ah Okay. All right. I'm gonna go... What shoe size are you? Um... Seven. A women's seven? Like, um, an American seven, or...?
00:06:01
Speaker
I'm very Australian here, guys. I don't appreciate it. As I realized asking shoe size that they, uh, probably didn't really do that then. Yeah, no. no Nope. Nope.
00:06:15
Speaker
No, she's probably were made to order a specific button. Or just look at your foot compared to my foot and guess. I can't say I've spent too much time comparing all of our feet.
00:06:28
Speaker
There's always time to start, I guess. I liked it a little bit better when we didn't do that. think i yeah I think. I did that statement. yeah We should just go. I'm gonna go get shoes.
00:06:43
Speaker
Okay. And Kalden marches out the door with purpose. And maybe more urgency than he started with. What a start to the episode. ah Yeah. um That was hilarious. I'm so here for it. I mean...
00:07:02
Speaker
To be fair, it's the first time all of the characters had like kind of re-come together as one after having all their separate conversations. You know, the awkwardness kind of makes sense and if you think about it the right way.
00:07:12
Speaker
Or the wrong way. Or the wrong The real secret is we're all just this awkward and we have no idea what the fuck we're doing. That's true. That's so true. Anyway, Calden, you walk out the door with purpose, going out into the brisk, very brisk, morning and undore. Trying to find your way to some sort of clothing or leather shop, somewhere you can get some shoes. It is very early, but you do know that the tavern was just starting to get some of their morning crowds, so it might be still a little early for a shop, but you might get lucky and they open the door if you knock type of thing.
00:07:47
Speaker
Before there are technical opening hours, but if somebody's there, they might open it. Okay, I kind of slink through the town until I find something. And then I buy shoes and then I head back and now we're all back together.
00:08:00
Speaker
As I say, given your previous escapade, you're able to find one fairly quickly, just given the types of things you had noticed while you were previously out trying to find Eric. And yeah, you're able to find some fairly quick. You get lucky, you knock on the door and a little shop owner kind of cracks the door open. They're they're willing to help you.
00:08:16
Speaker
And before too long, you're back with some shoes.

Journey Back to Glory

00:08:18
Speaker
And he walks in and he holds the shoes up and he says, success. And he hands them over. Thank you, Kalden. And she puts on the shoes like Cinderella. Yep.
00:08:30
Speaker
That's me. I'm good for all your clothing needs, I guess. You have excellent taste. I mean, you went shopping for us at the ball. That is true. I've never looked better.
00:08:42
Speaker
Just a fashionista. Well, I'm sure there'll be always a drop-in rope for you if if you ever need it. Oh good, I'll keep that in mind, thank you.
00:08:54
Speaker
So, shall we head out? Yes. Please. Show us the way. Really quick. I'd like to roll an insight against Calvin.
00:09:06
Speaker
He didn't even buy shoes. He gave Maeve his. He's not even wearing shoes. It's just. Oh my God. He's acting a bit strange.
00:09:17
Speaker
It's not, Kalden. It's a change. This is the whole conversation. He went out for shoes, but Kalden is not the one who came back. o It doesn't even look like him.
00:09:29
Speaker
doesn't even like him. It's a dragonborn. You guys are like, Kalden, did you put on wig? It's like wearing a wig. Yeah. yeah That's a bad mustache. Kaladin doesn't even have a mustache, but it's better than this guy.
00:09:46
Speaker
Okay, well, that's a 16. 16? Okay. Oh, you're exhausted, so... Kaladin didn't sleep at all the night before, so you could you could probably assume he's a little bit loopy from like being tired, and it's really cold here, so it makes sense to want to just leave.
00:10:07
Speaker
Alright, okay. I'll accept that. As you all head out of the tavern, Talira, you have... you i can't remember. Do you automatically know your way around cities and maps from your memory, or is it an advantage of the role?
00:10:21
Speaker
do! Okay. I wanted to confirm that. For the audience's benefit, should I read out what my feature is? i think so, yeah. I think they'd like that. Cool. Let me find it real quick.
00:10:32
Speaker
We do have some people who listen who aren't who aren't knowledgeable on D&D very much. So I think explaining some of these mechanics would be helpful to them. Yeah. Shit, we have people playing who aren't exactly experts on everything in D&D.
00:10:47
Speaker
That's fair. That's fair. Okay. i I will read my thing now. The feat is called Wanderer. You have an excellent memory for maps and geography, and you can always recall the general layout of terrain, settlements, and other features around you.
00:11:04
Speaker
In addition, you can find food and fresh water for yourself and up to five people each day, provided that the land offers berries, small game, water, and so forth. Nice, very useful. It's very useful.
00:11:17
Speaker
So because you have that feat, that will speed up our return back to glory a bit. And the fact that you

Encounter with Glory Officials

00:11:22
Speaker
don't have to make any rolls, we don't have any pit stops, you know, the pretty much the exact way back. Can we roll for how comfy the boots are, Kalden bot, Maeve?
00:11:33
Speaker
Sure, we can roll for that. What are you rolling? He's rolling what? got a new role I'm rolling a a three. These are the shittiest boots you've ever worn. no! They are fashion over function.
00:11:56
Speaker
they are fashion over function Yes. Quickly made, available, just whatever would fit and its closest. That's so fine. Maeve will not tell you anything. Fast fashion via Undor. That's right. She's smiling.
00:12:08
Speaker
She's not in pain at all. But they're not comfy, but they are warm because they have to be. True. We're not going to die of toe loss, just blood loss. That's right. That's right.
00:12:20
Speaker
No, you've been healed. You won't die of blood loss right now. Well, if if the shoes are too small and they can't open her feet... This isn't Cinderella.
00:12:32
Speaker
I just have bad experiences with shoes, I think. I don't know. Let's just play. Have you previously sawed off your heel or your toes to fit into a shoe? Are you an evil stepsister?
00:12:43
Speaker
Yes. No, no. But I'm saying it's like i've I've once walked in shoes that are like too small for me and just like, you know, when you get like it rubs so much as your feet sufferably? Yeah, that thing.
00:12:56
Speaker
Okay, that's fair. That's fair.
00:13:01
Speaker
Okay, thanks to that feat though. but Thanks to that feat though, you guys are able to basically get straight there. It's gonna cut off a lot of time and you don't have to roll, don't have to make any pit stops.
00:13:13
Speaker
Fantastic. And sure enough, you go down into the sewers, back to that same room where that portal let out. Don't see any signs of the Mordifer Pectum.
00:13:23
Speaker
It's creepy, sure. It's cold, yeah. but no events. And sure enough, you're able to walk through the portal back in to the main portal room in which you had the four to choose from. And again, luckily, thanks to Talira's feet, you also know which door to choose, remembering that it is the one to your right.
00:13:44
Speaker
I think it was one your right. Oh, Lord. Now I don't even know. ah Either way, you choose the right one. Okay, so have a take where you say it to the right and have a take, say it to the left. and Do we think it to the left.
00:13:56
Speaker
And sure enough, it's the right one in the room. ah But regardless, you go through the portal door and back into the basement of the holy lighthouse in the middle of Glory.
00:14:14
Speaker
The one that is in the Divinity's District where the basement was dedicated to the worship or beliefs and practices of Mordmeon. And as you all come through,
00:14:27
Speaker
You come through to a the same description as far as the amount of beds, people sleeping, it being dark, lots of incense, but you also come into a group of city officials with Eric death staring one of them.
00:14:42
Speaker
And I believe, Talira, you were the one who had come through seeing this same official. This is the same official that Eric had previously told, you better not close this. Or rather, I need to go through it, then you can close it, but If you close it before I'm through, I respect your decision, but just know you have hell to pay, sort of thing.
00:15:02
Speaker
He closed it, didn't he? Yes. Yes, he did. Thank you for reopening it. Yeah, um... Yeah, and another official speaks up.
00:15:16
Speaker
Yeah, thank you for reopening it and all of the resources it took to do so. And Eric kind of looks at him and you can see there there's been a bit of a squabble going on, but that you get the sense it's really not anything you need to worry about.
00:15:31
Speaker
Cool. Cowden keeps walking. This is a lot of tension in the air. I don't know about all this. I think i think there is a lot of tension in the air. Yellen will follow after kind of awkwardly.
00:15:47
Speaker
Maeve, as you pass by, Eric does turn and kind of gives you a nod, and and you can see as he nods at you a sense of relief. Like, his shoulders kind of drop a bit, and some of the tension that he was holding drops.
00:15:58
Speaker
Good to see you safe again. she She gives him a reassuring nod back. We'll get her safely to her apartment. Sounds good. I'll deal with the city.
00:16:11
Speaker
Sounds good. um Let me know if you need any other other help. I think I'll be all right. I can handle. I know you can. All right. And then turns. Now, who the fuck thought it was a good idea to... And fades off as you guys walk away as he starts to berate some of these city officials.
00:16:30
Speaker
Now I want to ask you guys, is it a rush to get back to the apartments, ah to be back in a safe place

Maeve's Dilemma with Roe Family Contract

00:16:37
Speaker
where you guys can rest? Or is there any of the points that we had discussed previously in the sessions that you guys are going to like stop to ask questions or touch anything or do anything?
00:16:48
Speaker
I don't know that we can rush because Maeve and Calden are both going extra slow right now because they're tired as shit. Yeah. I don't know if we're going to be asking Maeve too many questions right now for the same reason.
00:17:01
Speaker
Yeah, I i think Talira especially will be following Maeve's lead. Whatever Maeve looks like she wants to do, Talira will be there for her Just wanted to make sure and know if I needed to stop to describe certain things for you guys or if we can kind of kind of speed through the section back to the apartments for you.
00:17:21
Speaker
So sure enough, you all do find your way back to the apartments. You get Maeve back into her apartment. And as you all are going in because of the noise and Sally's apartment being next door, Sally comes out of her apartment.
00:17:35
Speaker
Oh, oh my God, Maeve. So glad you're back. yeah All of you, you're so glad you guys are back. I'm not gonna lie. I was getting worried. It's been days. It's okay.
00:17:47
Speaker
I'm just gonna go rest for a bit. Yeah, absolutely. She like slowly gives Sally like an awkward thumbs up. It's okay, Sally. I just, ah we just ate.
00:18:01
Speaker
Okay.
00:18:05
Speaker
She kind of looks, she's, ah after the surprise, she kind of takes in the full scene of you and everybody else. And the realization hits her a bit.
00:18:16
Speaker
Okay. You just, you let me know when you need anything. Okay. I'll be right here. Yeah. Okay. She just kind of stands there, kind of a little awkwardly. Kalden stands there equally awkwardly.
00:18:29
Speaker
Maybe just go... Uh, yeah. Yeah, and i have I have other things we need to wrap up. Anyway, I'll keep Piara and some of the others, I'll keep them at bay for now.
00:18:40
Speaker
They've been wondering where you're at. And speaking of which, i don't know if Talira's told you, but there's a contract that needs to be discussed. But again, you let me know when you're ready and when you need anything. I'll be here and I'll be doing some work.
00:18:53
Speaker
Okay. Yeah. Talk to Fenlan about all that. I could give less of a fuck right now. You just get some rest, okay, Maeve? Yeah. Okay.
00:19:06
Speaker
Sally motions to you, to Lyra, to step into her apartment real quick. What do you need, Sally? Obviously, mave Maeve's been through a lot. Again, we're go to give her the rest time, but...
00:19:17
Speaker
I don't want to pester her too much, so looks like a lot of you guys need some rest, but it it is imperative that before too long— take the time you need, but before too long, things will need to be discussed. You know there's a contract at play, the changes that you asked for have been made, they're expecting a meeting yesterday, technically.
00:19:36
Speaker
We were a bit occupied, as you know. Give us a night to rest, I have not slept either. Yes, absolutely. Like I said, you take the time you need.
00:19:48
Speaker
Me and Fenlin be keeping them at bay. We've been distracting them with other things. They still don't know Maeve was taken. They just assume that she's been resting, being shaken up from the kidnapping. So, yeah, just wanted to let you know that is on the radar, and I will keep them at bay. just Just know that there are things happening that will need some attention at some point.
00:20:09
Speaker
Eric is wrapping up a few things. When he comes back, it might be a good idea then to ask if he um if he thinks we should let go publicly it at least to the others that she was. um That might settle things a little bit.
00:20:32
Speaker
At least Piara, she's not the only one who was targeted. I'll talk to Eric and I'll talk to Fenlyn. I think that decision will have to need to come from Maeve, though. I know she likes to have an interest in how she's viewed and in those decisions that regard herself.
00:20:47
Speaker
That is very true. Another thing to note, now that she's back, the Roe family will be leaving soon, as most of the delegates and any of the guests from the ball have already left.
00:21:00
Speaker
So, again, rest. They obviously understand and won't take as much time as is needed, but they are looking to get back home. Are there any implications for the Roe family leaving? i'm I'm woefully unprepared for this kind of diplomacy.
00:21:23
Speaker
That's why I bring up the meeting with the contract. Maeve came here ahead of the Roe family, but was scheduled to go back with them. I see. So, which is if you all discuss the contract and she's staying, then that's fine.
00:21:37
Speaker
I'm sure the Roe family will understand. Fenlyn already knows about it and does understand, so that won't be a problem. It's just things will need to be said, discussions need to be had, and of course, goodbyes will need to be had.
00:21:49
Speaker
I will let Maeve know then. Okay, I appreciate it. And again, the family, obviously, they understand. They love her dearly. They'll wait around until she's ready to make those goodbyes, but...
00:22:00
Speaker
It is on the docket. They do have a region of the country to oversee back home. but Right, yes. Okay, Anything that needs to happen, it can wait till the morning.
00:22:14
Speaker
If you can buy us one day, I will let Maeve know all of these things that need to happen, and if she is up for it, then she will be there otherwise.
00:22:26
Speaker
I'm not going to push her. No, absolutely. If it's tomorrow that it happens, or if it's the next day, I just need to know in advance so me and Fenlyn can but do what's necessary.
00:22:37
Speaker
I appreciate it. Thank you. She sees you out and goes back in her own apartment to some work that's needed. Everything okay? It is a lot of logistical nightmares, but it's... I bought us a day.
00:22:57
Speaker
Bought us a day for what? The Roe family is ah ready to leave. Everyone, of course, understands that it's going to take some time, and the Maeve needs her rest, but they, of course, want to know if she's following, if she's staying. i also have the logistical problem of the contract.
00:23:18
Speaker
I need to figure out what the fuck I am doing with that. I mean, all like it's a contract. i were taking ah I am taking a contract. You're taking a contract? You took a... you took a contract?
00:23:31
Speaker
To figure out what is going on. Well, I mean... like... Maeve is obviously not ready for travel. I mean, even if I were to work on her, they... Oh, I'm not leaving for the contract tomorrow, but they want me to sign it.
00:23:47
Speaker
Well, I... What's the contract? If Bjarabhakti wants to clear Zor-El-Gog, I said that I would not clear Zor-El-Gog.
00:24:00
Speaker
From what? If they are actually not the big problem behind all of the portals opening up or the the children going missing, if it is just members of Zor-El-Gog and not the whole fucking organization.
00:24:23
Speaker
we will find that out. Ultimately though, what I want to find out is who is behind all of this. And that's what I told them I would get, I would take a contract for. It is up to you if you want to join me. i i mean, this is interesting.
00:24:40
Speaker
When Piara said she wants to clear the Zorokok. She does. Yellen looks down a little bit and he scratches at his pants. i And you know, nothing against her.
00:24:54
Speaker
it's If we find her information, especially on something about the Zoro Gog, who's to say she won't use it against them even if, um you know, she says she means good? I mean, for God's sake, she's a politician, you know?
00:25:10
Speaker
I don't trust her as far as I can throw her, and I can throw pretty far. She's also part of this organization, so of course she has... of course, she has a huge stake in this. Of course she wants to clear her name, and I told her I was not about that.
00:25:26
Speaker
Right. But I owe it to Gwynedd and to Siobhan to figure out why. Of course, of course. Certainly. Also, to your your point, Yelen, um... full offence, fuck Piara.
00:25:42
Speaker
Fuck Piara. Honestly, I hope I find that Zorilgog did do it and I can tell her to go suck it. That would be, um... a lot of fun.
00:25:54
Speaker
It really would be, wouldn't it? Yeah. I want you to give her uh... Me? Yes. She obviously hates you for some stupid reason. that She has a problem, it seems like, with crystal tieflings, and she can go fuck herself.
00:26:11
Speaker
Well, I don't know if i specifically could, you know, there's enough people that don't like blue guys in the world, and or me specifically, so... Kalden, for instance, hates blue guys.
00:26:24
Speaker
Exactly. ah Is Maeve still standing out here with us? Maeve was definitely with you guys while you were talking about her.
00:26:35
Speaker
She has now left and probably just slammed her door and is fucked off to her room. Kalden's like, swaying. Let's get the two of you to bed and potentially medical attention.
00:26:50
Speaker
I'm... I'm fine. Um... Maeve already left, though. Kalden. You're swaying. I'm fine. You can't stand i always do this. It's cold stemming. Thank you for pointing it out. Your eye... Calden, your eyes are closed. Currently.
00:27:08
Speaker
The only... It's cold blinking, Yellen. That's a really long blink. A very long blink. he He is just resting his eyes. I'm just checking my eyelids for leaks.
00:27:20
Speaker
All right. Would you like to do it laying on the couch? Horizontally. and Do you need any food? Do you need to eat anything? no i'm I'm fine.
00:27:33
Speaker
What's next? You're going to sleep is what is next. That is what's next. Planning-wise. Well, you know, there's contract and all, but... The contract and then...
00:27:51
Speaker
Maeve will decide what she wants to do after she sleeps. Alright, that sounds like a good idea. She needs rest, so...

Maeve's Emotional Comfort from Yellen

00:28:02
Speaker
I think we all probably need some, and Yon's gonna, like, fake Yon.
00:28:07
Speaker
Eugh, you know, I think it'd probably be the best idea for us all to hit the hay. I know I could use some sleep. At the mention of getting some also sleep, Lou kind of like, it kind of takes the the cue from Yellen and like stretches her paws forward and gets a good old stretch and yawns in her little bear form and then just kind of leans against you, Talira.
00:28:32
Speaker
go Go to the apartment and take a nap. I will be there soon. Do we even know if we still have those rooms? Good question. That's a good point. You could assume so. You still have the keys to them.
00:28:45
Speaker
Oh, okay. Well, maybe they change the locks. I guess we'll find out. guess we'll find out. But either way, at the word of that, Lou perks up and starts just trotting off. She got sleep.
00:28:59
Speaker
All right. Well, I guess good talk, team. Break. You got it, champ. I'm going to check on Maeve just to make sure. yeah And he brings out like suture kit.
00:29:12
Speaker
No wounds open up or anything on the way back. ah Should i make camp out here? Are we taking watches? Um, I mean, I wouldn't be opposed to it, especially if people are kidnapping us in our sleep, but it's up to you.
00:29:29
Speaker
Come get me in four hours. I need a little bit of a nap. You got it. I'll see you soon. Yellen, do you just knock on her door, or do you just try to enter? I'm going to knock first.
00:29:41
Speaker
Uh, Maeve's not going to respond. Hey, i just, as someone who has medical experience, I would like to check on your wounds respectfully.
00:29:54
Speaker
And you hear nothing from her. Maeve, this is relatively serious. You could get an infection or something worse.
00:30:09
Speaker
Maeve, last time you were this quiet, you were kidnapped. So I'm going to open the door. Be aware, i am entering now, and I'm going to open the door.
00:30:21
Speaker
Did Maeve lock the door? No, no, she didn't. She just slammed it. Sephiroth, would you like to describe where Maeve is at and if she's asleep, what she's doing, things like that? Maeve took her doona off her bed and she kind of just crawled under her bed with her doona and her pillow and it's kind of just like having a full-blown meltdown into her doona and she's just like trying to really quiet. She heard Yellen but if she speaks she would know that she's crying so she's just kind of hoping he goes away while hiding under her bed.
00:30:59
Speaker
For American audiences, that's a comforter. Oh, yeah. comfort Comforter. yeah good Good catch. I have had no idea what that was. i Sorry.
00:31:11
Speaker
Yeah, a comforter. Can Yellen tell that she is kind of having this meltdown under the bed? I would assume you're going in not just passively looking for her, so roll me a perception check.
00:31:22
Speaker
And Maeve, if you want to roll a stealth check, you may. Ooh, that's a 19 for on the dice. shit. Let's find out if I'm super sneaky crying under the bed.
00:31:34
Speaker
And you don't have to have disadvantage on your stealth check because you're not wearing your armor right now.
00:31:40
Speaker
15. You can see the comforter out under the bed. And I can definitely tell that she's like crying under there. You probably could hear with those rolls. I figured you'd probably, it'd be quiet.
00:31:53
Speaker
Maybe not fully for sure. Like, is she really having a meltdown? But probably hear like a whimper. Okay. Catch up her breath or something. at this yelling is, this is something that, you know, this is tough.
00:32:06
Speaker
This is, he's going through something here. So he's going to do something that somebody once did for him. He's going to leave and he's going to say, oh, well, I could see you're sleeping now.
00:32:18
Speaker
um I'll be back in a moment. I forgot an important instrument. And he's going to go to like a little... Are there any like street food carts like around?
00:32:32
Speaker
It is little later in the morning at this point, so yeah, ah you you could probably go out and find some um some of that. Since it's later in the morning, are there any where he could find, like, a cinnamon bun or something like that?
00:32:45
Speaker
A cinnamon bun? Yeah, I i totally think—so Glory is in a pretty rich area regarding the food that's available, the crops and their harvests.
00:32:55
Speaker
They deal with storms coming in from the everstorm that can blow down some some crops, depending on those that try to risk it to do things that grow tall, like corn. But they also get lots of exports, especially considering they're kind of becoming like the world capital. So yeah, I think you can definitely find something similar to a cinnamon bun.
00:33:13
Speaker
I would like to go to where the most fragrant cin it like cinnamon rolls, cinnamon buns are. Roll me 18. a d twenty
00:33:24
Speaker
eighteen 18, you find a real fragrant one. You manage to find one that's just freshly baked and it's just, you're like, what was it? Was it Jerry and Tom and Jerry who would just float through the air sniffing? Yeah. I yeah got, oh my god, these smell delicious. Can I have two of them?
00:33:46
Speaker
Actually, make it three. Absolutely, yes. ah Three of them. just Lucky timing. I just brought them out of the oven. Thank goodness. Yes, just 12 copper is all. I give it to him.
00:33:57
Speaker
Have a good day, sir. Come back. You as well. And I walk back to the apartment. Has Maeve moved at all, Safira? No, she's ah definitely not leaving under the bed anytime soon.
00:34:11
Speaker
I had a feeling, just wanted to confirm. All right, I'm going to get up there, close the door. I'm going wrap one up and write Talira's name on it and put it on the counter. And then, ah go to the bedroom where Maeve is crying and kind of, oh, good thing they had these at the local medicine parlor.
00:34:32
Speaker
um The what? The low the the medicine parlor. that You're not even here. What do what do I say?
00:34:44
Speaker
Medicine parlors? Fantastic. but No, we stick with it. That's a thing now. Yeah. Oh my god. And i I assume they're still pretty fragrant, because I'm going to unwrap it the rest of the way, just so it can be smelled.
00:34:58
Speaker
Um... Maeve's going to know he's lying, because... I don't think a roll's needed, yeah. Yeah, I don't think a roll.
00:35:08
Speaker
She just mutters, You're a terrible liar, Yellen. Guilty as charged. I do need some help with these, though. And i'm going to kind of lift up the thing and show her the...
00:35:22
Speaker
Show her the sweets. She's under the bed. She can't see. Or, well, I'm gonna lean under the bed. You're gonna lean under the bed? Yeah. She's kind of just like peeking out of just like a massive nest of just b blankets.
00:35:37
Speaker
And her eyes are just red and and very... lots of... lots of... very dark under her eyes, like exceedingly dark under her eyes. And she just kind of looks out from a little pile of fluff.
00:35:51
Speaker
Can you join me? just puts her arm out. She really doesn't want... just puts her hand out. I hand her one. And I'm going to lay down out of the out from under the bed, but on on the floor still.
00:36:06
Speaker
Thank you. Of course. She eats it slowly, picks at it. I know it's not exactly what you want to do, but I do feel it is imperative that I make sure no wounds have been opened.
00:36:21
Speaker
When... when you feel up to it, of course. Is this a bribe? Maybe. might be. The fact that it is working is depressing on all counts.
00:36:33
Speaker
Well, the fact that I had to bribe a public official, um, in order to get them out from under a bed. i feel like that that's a bit of desperation there, so... She throws a little bit of the cinnamon roll at him.
00:36:48
Speaker
So, what do you say? it'll I'll be quick.
00:36:53
Speaker
Okay, I'll get this over and done with, because, um... Yeah. All right. Slowly shimmies herself out of the bed. I put my hand out to help. if If she wants it, she doesn't have to take it.
00:37:08
Speaker
She takes it. She's exhausted. I help her sit up onto the bed, and I'm just going to, like, inspect for any open wounds or anything that need to be taken care of.
00:37:20
Speaker
Give me one. Give me just one second.
00:37:24
Speaker
Wow. Maeve, you got lucky. You just find one that's reopened. It doesn't look infected. It's still fairly clean. It just happened to have have opened just enough to have a little trickle of blood coming out.
00:37:36
Speaker
i I'll take care of it. Sure. You are a cleric after all, I guess. That I am. You know, i I did mean it. I am here for you if you need me.
00:37:51
Speaker
It feels strange because, you know, three years and then suddenly you're here. Yeah, I can understand that. i i know I've been um excited to be back with everyone, of course.
00:38:09
Speaker
So I may have jumped in a little bit too strong. So I but apologize for that. You've got nothing to apologise for. Probably, uh, maybe coming to me straight away?
00:38:25
Speaker
Might have... But other than that... Nothing. I've... I do... I... I have stuff for you. For me? As well. Thank you. Well... Yeah. Well, why don't... You can wait to give it to me until you're rested, of course.
00:38:41
Speaker
It's... It's just in my desk. It's not... And... You know... Stuff. And things. Stuff and things? Stuff... stuff and things. No, um... I didn't sleep... much.
00:38:55
Speaker
So... I guess that nothing's changed there. But um... And she just gets up and starts walking to her desk. Whoa, whoa! I-I can get you whatever it is you need.
00:39:07
Speaker
I... i'm I'm a big girl, yelling I can... I can walk to my fucking desk. You have many injuries. I know you're a big girl, but I just... No, you're right. You're right.
00:39:20
Speaker
um I apologize. She grabs a little trinket box from her desk and she grabs... She open opens it and she rummages through all the papers and she finds a ah letter.
00:39:32
Speaker
She grabs that as well and closes the drawer and hands them both to him. i I take them. I tried searching for you.
00:39:43
Speaker
A lot. I heard. Yeah. So... On the mountain, after I managed to escape, you part of your horn, I found it. And so I tried my best to use it to scry. And I thought, and I know it's not like all of your horn. It's just like a little bit.
00:40:06
Speaker
ah But I thought weird if I kept it and you didn't have it. So ah it it is on a pendant just because it's easy to scry. ah And she just just kind of like starts eating her food.
00:40:21
Speaker
Thank you. You know, I kind of gotten used to my look without it. And I also don't know how to reattach it. But I appreciate this. It's enough to reattach. It's just... You... I... Thank you.
00:40:37
Speaker
Thank you for looking for me. Of course. I've never stopped. and And this is a letter... Yeah, I ah thought a lot about what happened and the the thing you did with the lantern.
00:40:56
Speaker
i i i Fenlin helped me, he ah he spoke to some people for me and um that. ah just Just read the letter um when you can. it's It's just, she just goes back to eating because she's tired and she doesn't know how to speak.
00:41:13
Speaker
Do you wish for me to read it now, or would you like me to wait? It's not a... it's It can wait. It's not Are you sure? Yeah, yeah, no, it's it's just... Fenlon spoke to someone for me regarding that that vision you had back when... um after the Mirror incident and Beruther and when were looking for the children.
00:41:42
Speaker
Right. Ah, so. i will read this soon, then. Yeah. She goes and sits ah on her bed.
00:41:56
Speaker
Awkwardly.
00:41:59
Speaker
Is there anything else you may need? that's all. You name it, I'll go get it. You've already done enough. I appreciate you a lot.
00:42:10
Speaker
Thank you. Alright, well, I will be in the living room if you have need of anything then. Okay. I'm gonna go back to... Sheila just looks under the bed again.
00:42:29
Speaker
I think I just needed enclosed space. Okay, no worries. Lies back down on the floor and... Just kind of waits for him to leave so she can go back to her hole.
00:42:44
Speaker
He leaves like a probably as soon as she gets on the floor. Just kind of just rolls herself up in a burrito and under the bed again. As Maeve rolls herself up into her burrito, getting the much needed rest not necessarily sleep right away, but rest, the alone time, the enclosed space, yelling, taking watch out in the living room.
00:43:09
Speaker
Four hours later, Talira comes to relieve Yellen and such. Is there anything else that would go on throughout the night? No, I say through the night, this is the morning. so But through the day until, let's say, early evening.
00:43:25
Speaker
I don't think so,

Maeve and Talira's Family Discussions

00:43:26
Speaker
no. Talira would let Maeve know that she was there outside if she needed anything. And she'd have her bedroll with her. She'd take a nap outside of the door.
00:43:38
Speaker
And you'd enjoy the nice cinnamon bun that Yellen left you? Yes, and she would save half for Lou. Very nice. And Yellen, probably, he's not super tired, so he'll just stroll around Glory while Clearedes' watch.
00:43:53
Speaker
Okay. We'll say that this is fairly uneventful, but you get a chance to kind of get a lay of the land since you didn't really get too much of a chance before. Sephira, this is where i come to you. And honestly, to you as well, Rennie, how long are you both going to be resting for?
00:44:06
Speaker
Until I'm not exhausted anymore. 10 hours. Got it. What about you, Sephira? How long would it be until I'm not exhausted? Until you have no levels of exhaustion? Yeah.
00:44:20
Speaker
The next morning. i would say, what do we agree on? That it was two levels of exhaustion for you? Yeah, two levels. So yeah, 20 hours. Fuck, okay, no. So early the next morning.
00:44:32
Speaker
She'll probably get up for dinner, I think. Okay. Around dinner time. About the early evening, probably about the time Yellen you're coming back from being around town.
00:44:43
Speaker
Sally comes to the door and taps you on the shoulder, Talera. Sally? ah Yes, I left her alone like she wanted, but it's about dinner time. I figure it's probably about time that you guys need some food.
00:44:56
Speaker
Would like me to order you guys anything? That would be great. yeah I didn't think about food. Yeah. Talira will knock on the outside of the door because, wait a minute, didn't Maeve not have a door? it was beads.
00:45:13
Speaker
Maeve does not have a door. Okay. I thought you were outside the door, like in the in the hallway. My apologies. Yeah, she would be outside of the doorway. She was in in Maeve's apartment, just so Maeve wouldn't be alone. Talira would knock on the wall outside of the doorway. Hey, Maeve, do you want food? Sally's here. Yeah, yeah, food sounds good.
00:45:41
Speaker
Do the food. Any prefer... any... That is a hard word to say. Any food you would like, or do you trust Sally to get something for you?
00:45:54
Speaker
Uh, Sally... Sally knows what I like. Sounds good. Yeah, Sally, you heard Maeve. Anything she would like.
00:46:04
Speaker
I am not picky, but could I ask for something for Lou, too? Yes, absolutely. i I'll get you all something. How about that? Thank you. I trust whatever you pick.
00:46:18
Speaker
I assume Kalden will be up soon as well, and, well, I don't know where Yellen is, but I'm sure he hasn't gone far. ah He's went out for a walk. Kalden usually eats some kind of meat, ah blue rare.
00:46:29
Speaker
Okay, I'll have some things brought to you. Maeve kind of gets up and walks. She's still in everyone's clothes, and she just says, I think Yellen would like something vegetarian or veggies.
00:46:41
Speaker
Um, yes, I can do that. Yeah, cool. Cool. Does he like mushrooms? There's a phenomenal kebab place that has the best seasoning on their mushrooms. He loves mushrooms.
00:46:53
Speaker
He sure does. Fantastic. Well, I've got some ideas. I'll get some things ordered and you all can just stay put. I'll have them brought to you. Perfect. Thank you, Sally.
00:47:05
Speaker
Yes, no problem. And as Sally goes to leave, she kind of gives you an eye to Lyra. Now that Maeve is up like a reminder of your previous conversation. And she goes to get all the food.
00:47:17
Speaker
Cool. I'm gonna... She just walks to the bathroom. Yeah, do whatever you need. Showers and gets out of everyone's clothing.
00:47:28
Speaker
I guess dressed as just something casual, like white shirt and pants, ties her hair up into a ponytail. It's about this time, Kaladin, you'd probably be waking up and being able to make your way up there as well.
00:47:40
Speaker
Okay. I'll go get Kaladin and let him know that food is on the way. Yeah, that's a great idea. And Talira would walk down the hall, go get Kaladin. Hey, Kaladin, I ordered some food for you.
00:47:56
Speaker
Okay, thank you. Yeah, no problem. Talira applauds back. Maeve's just staring to see if the damage from the apartment has been fixed or not. ah The caved-in part of the wall has, but some of the smaller nicks and things like that have not yet.
00:48:12
Speaker
She's just studying it, being annoyed. Could have taken more fucking care. Talira knocks on the door outside of Maeve's apartment because she's not going to barge in unannounced.
00:48:23
Speaker
Hey, it's me. Maeve just opens the door, but like she's at the side staring at the wall next to the door anyway. She she's just kind of like kicks it open. you don't You don't have to knock, Talira. Okay.
00:48:34
Speaker
I have a door in my bathroom. You won't see anything inappropriate. I wasn't worried about that. I just don't like surprising people. I know I am a bit large.
00:48:47
Speaker
You're fine. It was more surprising when they did knock, so just just enter whenever. Okay. Okay. just yawns and goes toward us Did you have a good coma?
00:48:59
Speaker
You slept a while. I feel like I could probably use a few more, but... Yeah, it was nice to, you know... You know. Yeah. Yeah.
00:49:11
Speaker
just sits in her desk and looks for how many letters does she have piled up for her? Surprisingly, not very many. Oh. She starts to just open them and make sure that nothing's super important.
00:49:24
Speaker
You'd see it's mostly financial stuff as far as the ball goes and a list of the donations that were gotten and things like that. Nothing you notice specifically, given your passive insight.
00:49:35
Speaker
None of it is anything that will require work of you currently. Cool. Cool, cool, cool. So yeah, she just goes through that paperwork and, well, you've met my father?
00:49:47
Speaker
I didn't even have to introduce you guys. That's, uh... Yeah, I met him at the ball actually. He oh overheard me and ah realized who I was and introduced himself.
00:50:03
Speaker
He really cares about you. I know. he um He did his best with circumstances. Yeah. What was he like as a dad?
00:50:15
Speaker
Bit of a hardas.
00:50:22
Speaker
dr would be a polite way of ah saying bit of a hardba very much a hard ass that does not surprise me he wants um i think i was seven he was like yup time to teach you about the wilderness and so we took a carriage up to up to this mountain and he was like see you when i see you and he just left with the carriage He what?
00:50:50
Speaker
He left with the carriage. That bullshit! Even the Goliath wouldn't do that! It took me six days to get back.
00:51:04
Speaker
Maeve?
00:51:11
Speaker
and I am shocked and I don't know what to say. But the holy shit! Like... My...
00:51:21
Speaker
My dad died when I was little. i He didn't even teach me how to swim. he died that that when I was too young to get to that point. But like, even mentor, Granite Vest, like she was a hard ass, but at least she would like, you know, hold my back up when I was trying to swim. And then then eventually when I could doggy paddle, she could, you know, shit.
00:51:52
Speaker
Yeah, he, um, he, when my mum passed, uh, it did a number on him and, um, I feel like he didn't really know how to deal with children.
00:52:11
Speaker
He did the best he can, given circumstances, um, and I made it back. Fenlin was pissed. I would have been pissed.
00:52:24
Speaker
But I get it. My mom was a mess. Yeah. I'm glad she's doing better though. Me too. She still misses him, you know.
00:52:35
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. How did they, um... Was he also a giant? Or a goliath? Yeah, he was he was a goliath too. That's nice.
00:52:46
Speaker
How old were you when he passed? Like six. Old enough to have memories of him, not enough to know him, you know?
00:52:58
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah, I was three. I'm sorry. It's okay, just... It's weird. i can I can picture so vividly the way she used to dance, but I can't remember her face.
00:53:18
Speaker
Memories are weird like that, I guess. Are there any paintings of her at all? There is, but my memories, can just never remember her face. I can see it on a painting. There's one tiny one that my father didn't get rid of.
00:53:37
Speaker
and she goes, actually, she goes in and she grabs it from her. She opens a chest and it's full of just... her mask and her lyre and everything and there's a ah little small painting and she pulls it out and she gives it to Talira and it's off human a human woman with ah brown hair and brown eyes that match Maeve's.
00:54:01
Speaker
You look like her. Well, my eyes I do. I got everything else from my father. ah Thank you. Yeah.
00:54:12
Speaker
i I still remember my dad, I guess. ah Like I said, there's more feelings about him than anything, but I do remember his face. I do sometimes remember his voice, though I have to think harder now to hear it.
00:54:34
Speaker
A man met him some time ago, though, and so really weird, but three years ago, I ran into that man. he carved dolls.
00:54:49
Speaker
He had a doll of my father.
00:54:55
Speaker
That's interesting. It was scary as hell, but it was the likeness was... unmistakable.
00:55:06
Speaker
and Brought it to my mom and she just started weeping. Well, I mean, of course, he was the love of her life. Yeah.
00:55:18
Speaker
People grieve quite differently.
00:55:24
Speaker
Yeah. Maybe just puts the painting back underneath all her clothes and Yeah.
00:55:35
Speaker
Well... I guess we have that in common. Yeah. I'm sorry. I'm sorry too.
00:55:46
Speaker
Not a fun club to be in It is definitely not a fun club to be in.
00:55:53
Speaker
Well... I wonder where Cowden is. He should be getting up anytime. i let him know that food was on the way. You guys are still just in Maeve's room, right?
00:56:05
Speaker
Yeah. Why would he go there? You also didn't say you were in Maeve's room. You said you ordered food. So like, why would he be showing up? Oh yeah, fair. True. Calvin just slides in.
00:56:16
Speaker
Hey. yeah Hey, smell mushrooms. Shut bitches. The fun has arrived. And then he shoves Yellen in because it's definitely not Calvin.
00:56:29
Speaker
Yeah.
00:56:33
Speaker
Ah, man. I will say, as the food begins to arrive, and it arrives the first half only arrives with Maeve's and Talira's.
00:56:44
Speaker
As you immediately get the sense this is coming from not just one place, trying to, you know, cater to everyone. But as the food, first bit of food is arriving is about the time Yellen gets back from his little adventure as well.
00:56:56
Speaker
Hey, good to see you're up and kicking. Well, eating, but sure. Yeah. Let's go, then.
00:57:07
Speaker
I think he's getting a beauty sleep. Maybe he's looking to see what he wants to wear, since he is the fashionista of the group. Oh, I've got your food.
00:57:20
Speaker
you've got me some food? She hands Yellen the vegetarian and mushroom skewers. He, uh, picks him up. Oh, gods bless you. This looks delightful. Um, I will go grab Kalden quickly.
00:57:36
Speaker
I will be back in a moment. Okay. Could you knock on the door in my ah our apartment and let Lou to come along?
00:57:49
Speaker
Yes. She's learned how to open doors. It's very impressive with her paws. Having no opposable thumbs kind of sucks. Yeah, i I could imagine.
00:58:00
Speaker
I don't know what I'd do without mine. um I'm going to go get them with my thumbs. Thank you. Maeve just pulls alcoholic drinks for everyone and starts the drinking early.

Unwinding at the Sleeping Dragon Inn

00:58:16
Speaker
and instance For the sake of keeping things moving along. Yeah. so suit yeah yeah the The club just all of a sudden appears in Maeve's room. Disco ball and all.
00:58:28
Speaker
Disco ball and all. Major illusion is what she just cast. and then Yeah, exactly, exactly. Yeah, for the sake of moving things along, we'll say that Yelena is able to grab both of you fairly quickly and bring you back to the apartment.
00:58:41
Speaker
Hey, maybe I wanted to go kicking and screaming. That was really rude of you. Railroading. i'm so Railroading, I say. Fair. Tsk, tsk. Fifty lashes with a wet noodle.
00:58:55
Speaker
I feel oppressed as a player.
00:59:00
Speaker
I am being called out. Yellen, you knock on the door and Lou is able to loud. I was kidding. Explaining his shit. I was kidding. I promise. know. I had to give you shit back, you know? It's totally fair.
00:59:13
Speaker
just thought
00:59:18
Speaker
it would have been interesting because Kaladin was in there ah painting miniature skulls and like, I thought that might be a fun RP thing, but whatever, we'll move on. It's fine. Ah, shit. He's into 40k. Wait, he's rich?
00:59:35
Speaker
Of course he's rich. He's half-Kidorim. That checks. That checks. Oh my gosh. Anyway, everyone has alcoholic drinks at Mave, so. Thanks for this drink. Kalden was painting some sick Tyranids when I went in there.
00:59:49
Speaker
um He had a at least 1,200 points of box of a space marine army as well. Oh my god. That's great. I'd love that for you, Kalden.
01:00:01
Speaker
Warhammer 40k existing? Oh no. Literally all of the money that I stole from Piara is gone. i mean so That's the most real thing you could have ever said, though. Those shits are expensive. No kidding. So expensive! out
01:00:19
Speaker
ah Here's your food. And she hands Calden his food. Oh, thank you. Talira picked it. Thanks, Talira.
01:00:30
Speaker
No problem. I feel like I've been around you enough. I know what you like by now. Yep. Love it, it's my favorite.
01:00:41
Speaker
Can never get enough of raw meat.
01:00:48
Speaker
Can I insight check that? Do you have to? Also fair. that was like that's That's a good point. Right? I'm not gonna roll. You're gonna go up against my, ah, ah shit. ah How do i do this?
01:01:06
Speaker
What about you just go up against my modifier? I'm not going to roll. Yeah, I mean, also, I could just be doing passive. I mean, Talira knows Kaladin well enough. ah Right, probably be passive.
01:01:18
Speaker
I think that's a 16. Let me double check that. Yep. I think you would have noticed by now that he doesn't ever look enthused about meals.
01:01:29
Speaker
Yeah. I mean, that's predictable, right? Yep. She hands him, uh, Maeve hands him some vodka. Oh, this smells like cleaner. What is this?
01:01:43
Speaker
It is cleaner. Cleaner for your guts. Don't i don i think I need that. Don't take potatoes with your raw steak. Yeah, it's just liquid potatoes.
01:01:56
Speaker
And, uh, Maeve shots her own shot. don't think like the idea of liquid meals, actually. That's something very off-putting about that.
01:02:06
Speaker
I'll drink. Missing out. Your drink? Okay, okay. And she pours Tilyra some more vodka. Cheers! Cheers, Yellen!
01:02:17
Speaker
All right. Cheers. Cowden. He holds the glass up, I guess. Cheers! Mm-hmm. And Skull.
01:02:30
Speaker
Shot. Shot, shot. Ha ha! That's abysmal. Let's creep. I am not anymore convinced to drink this.
01:02:42
Speaker
I feel my sinuses are clearing. you breathe well? Yes. Good.
01:02:55
Speaker
Good, so much. Alu, like, pause at your leg, Talira. You want one? Can bears have this? Oh, fuck yeah. We will find out. Oh yeah, bears drink all the time. They eat the fermented fruit from the trees. It's hilarious.
01:03:13
Speaker
Lou's like nodding along. another round for everyone, including Lou this time. Okay. Done. You guys have a couple drinks. You have enjoy your meals. Talira had talked with Sally and moved along the pressing matters until the morning.
01:03:30
Speaker
Mm-hmm. I will now ask you all as a group, are there any plans for the evening and night? Yes. I follow their lead.
01:03:41
Speaker
Maeva goes to her little trunk with her mom's painting, she pulls out her mask and she puts it on, she's like, shall we go out? Do I need to like look nice or something?
01:03:55
Speaker
If you want. You always look nice, Talira. That is true, actually. That is bullshit, but thank you. That is not bullshit. I feel like half the time I'm covered in blood and guts or dirt.
01:04:08
Speaker
But no, it's, uh... Sadly, I represent some people, so, uh, going out is always good to pop on a cheeky mask.
01:04:18
Speaker
Well, I do have a cheeky mask. Is that the the same mask from from lay back when? She nods. He didn't have a follow-up to that.
01:04:29
Speaker
Yeah. Yep. Everyone is pre-gamed. Kalden's been sitting here with his one drink. I think he finally like... Yes!
01:04:42
Speaker
What the fuck? You good? It burns. I'm fairly sure they gave us poison just now, I think. Well, slowly poisons you, yes. If you drink too much, anything will.
01:04:57
Speaker
That tastes terrible. Why did you drink it? You will find out. It makes you drunk. Faster than ale. Way faster than ale. I don't know if I like the way that you said that, Maeve.
01:05:10
Speaker
yeah Lou sits back on her butt and raises pause and gives her best impression of a thumbs up without any thumbs. um um
01:05:27
Speaker
she She does sign language, yay. yeah Yay. She does common sign language, yeah, exactly. American sign language. Yeah, exactly. Common sign language, which has also happens to be American sign language, but also any other kind of sign language that exists, because i don't know what common sign language is, actually.
01:05:45
Speaker
Anyway, so where where do you guys go? I'm pretty sure Maeve would know a bar or two. You're not the only one who knows a bar or two, actually. Oh, we we've stayed at one.
01:05:56
Speaker
Oh, that's right, we did. oh that was so long ago. Do you think the dragon's still there? There's a dragon? Or is there? I think it wasn't there, but it's supposed to be. ah don't remember.
01:06:08
Speaker
Let's go to the dragon. wouldn't... Maeve wouldn't know about this tavern because it's like on the edge of town, or rather the edge of old town, new town has further. Oh yeah, the Sleeping Dragon Inn? Yeah, may this one Maeve probably doesn't know about, although it is very popular. it's the It's like a local popular place. So if you're from Glory, you absolutely know because it's a famous one for Glory.
01:06:28
Speaker
But if you're one of the people coming in from out of town, I doubt you know about it. Dragon, let's go. I think it was a wyvern. i don't care. Let's go.
01:06:39
Speaker
There are ah very few politicians there, so you will be good. Perfect. He gets a ah shawl from the ah box too, and let's go. You all head across town, leaving for the Sleeping Dragon Inn, taking the route, especially with Talira, of course, with the feature we've already talked about. Yay! Knowing how to get there.
01:06:58
Speaker
Takes you all a bit of time, you have a good ah bit of fun. Yellen might have an idea of exactly how to get there as well, given his time searching around the city. He knows a few things or two. But regardless, here will find your way there. And sure enough, as you are walking in, you see a blue and gray wyvern speed across through the sky, fairly high up in the air, but you know it unequivocally as the sound of thunder rings throughout the air and a shot of lightning comes out of its mouth across the sky and it flies back into the clouds. Toothless!
01:07:26
Speaker
I want it. must ride this. Can we have a dragon? want a dragon. we found it that's so fucking cool my god they were want hit it i want to let us ride they ride it yes we both reri we have a dragon lyric i want a dragon Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
01:07:43
Speaker
I think dragon is far more responsibility than you' think you're thinking it may be now. We made friends with a dragon. We'll be fine. I would train it. I've already proven that I can take care of an animal.
01:07:56
Speaker
You made friends with a dragon without me? And Calden, you made a friend with a dragon. Well, that was very cranky. I wasn't killed by him. That's true.
01:08:07
Speaker
And I should check in on him. It's been a while. Maeve orders more drinks for everyone at the bar. Do you think he's doing okay?
01:08:19
Speaker
I hope so. I mean, he did kind of have a change of heart after after you talked to him. That's not really true. I think he was always that way. He's just grumpy.
01:08:32
Speaker
Comes us back with ale for everyone. As the dragon head thundered as you guys were approaching the bar, you saw a fairly tall man in a black trench coat and a top hat with a, but not a top hat, but a wide rimmed flat hat with a feather coming out of it, race as he's like putting his coat on, races out and and takes off down the road towards the gate that is way further down this road to go out the city. And you see a bunch of people file in, file out after him.
01:09:00
Speaker
As they come out, they're like, oh, it's back. It's back. Maybe he's going to get it back this time. I just sit and drink my drink. cool Apparently, ah it is somebody's pet and he kind of escaped.
01:09:12
Speaker
ha What a dumbass. Someone's having a fight with their dragon. rock ball this is why you have leashes. Never let your pets off leashes.
01:09:25
Speaker
Can you leash a dragon? I don't know, but I want to try. It really is not a leash. It's more like rain rain so I can hang on while it flies.
01:09:37
Speaker
Ooh, that sounds useful. That sounds the useful. Somebody takes notice of your group as you guys approaching as very noticeably as he stands above the rest of the crowd. Kiro. You guys are like, Delira, Galden, Kiro, you're back.
01:09:56
Speaker
Oh, it's your cousin. Hi, Kiro. Hey, I was getting worried about you. Talira, you wouldn't believe it.
01:10:07
Speaker
I scored a trade deal for the clan. You what? For home. i I scored a trade deal. No, I heard you. What? Yeah, I know. Crazy. We're out celebrating. ah Okay, well, you would need to tell me about this.
01:10:21
Speaker
Details. Like, we got to get drinks first. Come on. Come on We already have drinks. I have drinks right here to tell me details. We're ready. Okay. ah well you I said I was gonna stay behind to be a leader and well, I had Sally, you know, introduce me to a few people.
01:10:39
Speaker
Who? Was she there while you were making the deals too? ah Yeah, she was there. Okay. Anyway, no, I met the leader of the Merchants Guild and, uh, Creole, the capital of Neutrotare.
01:10:52
Speaker
Oh, yeah. Scored a trade deal. Nice. Okay. ah do I guess you should probably write to a mom and let her know.
01:11:03
Speaker
oh I should. Yeah, it'd be weird if they showed up and... I should do that tomorrow. Uh, Yellen, tomorrow, could I ask you to send to my mom?
01:11:17
Speaker
You know, take another sip of his drink. i mean, like, tomorrow you could probably ask me for anything. You could probably ask him for me now, I think. I think it's a bad idea. We could it now that's No. Not now. I'll send it right now. What would you like to say? idea.
01:11:32
Speaker
She's a bad idea. Probably not a good idea right now. As funny as it would be for her to get a drunk sending from a complete stranger that there is a trade deal. no, actually, that'd be hilarious. Let's do it.
01:11:50
Speaker
It would be so funny. Isn't that like a prank sending? i think it's just a terrible sending. my God. But I'm so here for it. There was one time that I did a prank sending to Lyra while she was out on her on a your adventurer's contract. Yeah, it surprised the shit out of me and a giant ogre ended up hitting me in my head. It's a good thing I fucking had a helmet, you dipshit.
01:12:16
Speaker
Oh my gosh. Well, it worked. That's all I gotta say. Either way, we can wait till tomorrow. I gotta, I gotta think professional when I'm dealing with these things.
01:12:27
Speaker
Professional. Anyway, Calden, not Calden, Yellen, Yellen. Dude, nice to meet you, by the way. I think I met you already. Nice to meet you. You're very, you're very tall. ah I think that's nice.
01:12:39
Speaker
Nice job. You're the nice one. You're going to help me tomorrow. Here. He picks you up and throws you over his shoulder and is like, let's go get this man some more drinks. Bye, Alan. Don't fall.
01:12:50
Speaker
du Goodbye. He carries you into the do into the tavern to get you some more drinks. He probably sits yelling on the table. Yella just like kicks his feet back and forth like a kid. ladies
01:13:10
Speaker
I wonder if they've got Do you see that? Do you see... Yeah. What?
01:13:16
Speaker
That is so funny. You good, Calvin? I think Calvin's drunk. Do you want to go? Let's go. It looks like Hop on. Let's go.
01:13:32
Speaker
Can I? but yeah let go go' Do it. yeah way yeah Talira kneels down. He climbs up on Talira. Maeve just like skips behind them.
01:13:44
Speaker
The alcohol has taken hold of most of the party.
01:13:51
Speaker
Talira's not even that drunk yet. Oh, I know. That's what I said most. I knew you weren't. He waves to Yellen from Talira's shoulders. Yellen! Yellen! hi Calden, what are you doing? He's getting a view of what it looks like for me. Watch your head.
01:14:10
Speaker
How's the weather up there? Everything looks so small. i This is not fair. Calden, I've offered to carry you back at the mountain. I... back home me Well, maybe if you were cuter, i would let you carry me.
01:14:24
Speaker
Damn, shots fired! Oh, that sweet. I'm sorry I don't swing your way, Kalden. It's alright, Kiro. i say You can carry me anytime. That is so okay, Talira. I love you like a sister. Good, I love you like a brother.
01:14:38
Speaker
Kiro takes Yellen around the shoulder with one arm squeezes you, and unfortunately he's drunk, so it's a little too tight with the Goliath's strength. okay Aw, thanks, Yellen. See, this is my bro. This is my bro now, Kaldin. How does that make you feel?
01:14:53
Speaker
I'm fine with it. Yeah, we're bros now. One big happy family. I think, I think, Kiro, you need more masculine presences in your life anyway.
01:15:11
Speaker
I don't know how to take that. Ouch, I think. but I think he's onto something. It might help you keep it in your pants a little bit.

Unexpected Tavern Proposal Scene

01:15:23
Speaker
ah Speaking of which, by the way, and he gets down on one knee and like ah does a little... Don't care, don't care. Wow, I don't want to hear this. I don't want to hear this. i As he gets down on one knee, Yellen's like... What's happening?
01:15:37
Speaker
He bows a little bit to Maeve and is like, I learned about the position. He wants to fuck everyone he meets Maeve. Please, please, oh what i what what mind him.
01:15:51
Speaker
I was just going to say... It's nice to have you back. She pokes his nose. He looks up and winks at Talira. What charming fellow.
01:16:03
Speaker
Talira just stares at him. He thinks so. Squints her eyes a little bit. Purses her lips. And nods. Maeve, let me get you a drink.
01:16:14
Speaker
I have one. have my own. You have a drink. You need another one. I will get my own. I am a woman. do shit She is a woman.
01:16:26
Speaker
am a woman. She's a woman. I see that.
01:16:33
Speaker
She's a woman, dammit. ah Let me pay for your drinks. I got you. though only Only the first round. Well, I owe Talira keg. Either way!
01:16:45
Speaker
Yellen! You're my wingman tonight. Let's go. You're not a woman, Yellen. Okay. A wingman in He takes Yellen and walks off into the crowd as this tavern as you have come in is filled to the brim. This is probably the most popular tavern for the working man in glory.
01:17:05
Speaker
The people at the ground level not. And you do notice as well, the way this tavern is laid out is it is a giant rectangle with a square bar in the middle. serving two sides as there is like, it's kind of like chains with a little sign on it that kind of separate the bar into two. It's a very large bar.
01:17:25
Speaker
In the back half, you can see on the sign, it's kind of, it says reserved, but in the back half, it is full of local people with power, business owners, the quote unquote politicians or merchants of local. You don't see anyone from outside of Glory, except for people like adventurers and things like that. No outside politicians, no ambassadors, none of that here.
01:17:45
Speaker
And of course, there's a stairwell to the left that leads up to the rooms. But you can see both sides, the chain on one side, the chains are taken down and they were just mingling and melding together.
01:17:55
Speaker
And this place is

Maeve's Tavern Performance

01:17:57
Speaker
rowdy. There's a stage in the front corner of the building. And currently no one sits up there, but there's a light shining down onto it from a crystal that is projected from the ceiling.
01:18:07
Speaker
And there is a loot up there on a little stand. You can see a guy with, like, a a feather out of his cap and someone who looks very colorful. You can assume as some sort of traveling bard or something like that who's mingling but um among the crowd right now.
01:18:22
Speaker
It's a trap. It's a trap. It's a trap. Is there anyone that Maeve would recognize at all? She's going to scan in the room. No, you really wouldn't. Even with a perception check, you...
01:18:33
Speaker
Oh, I take that back. I take that back. I'll give it to you for free. The one person you recognize here is Anora. Anora Nighthall is here. Too frequent this place. In fact, with the amount of conversations you've had with her, I'll even give you the additional, and because it was mentioned just briefly in one of the episodes when you had spoken to her, her boyfriend is the owner of this establishment.
01:18:52
Speaker
Oh. Yes. Maeve's in a mask, so she's not going to say anything. Okay. Okay. You all um managed to get some drinks, a couple on the on the dime of Kiro himself as well.
01:19:03
Speaker
And you may go about your business within the tavern, having a good time, meddling with the locals as the bard gets back on stage and he getss begins to play his lute. Is he any good at it?
01:19:16
Speaker
You know, let's find out, shall we? e That's a 10. He's average. He's like so-so. Mid. Mid boo.
01:19:29
Speaker
Boo. It does, Calvin, I just, police say Calvin does that. Really quietly. Just like boo. Talira's better than that, Dave. Is Calvin still on Talira's shoulders?
01:19:42
Speaker
No, I think he got set down. Because that could have been fun. So just to Talira, like him boo in her ear. I was going to say he was doing that in Maeve's ear. Oh, even better. Yes, do it.
01:19:58
Speaker
Maeve giggles. You're better than that, Maeve. Easily. Thank you. Sits in the fingers and she just looks at her fingers. um God. I'll drink to that. I don't know why, but yeah.
01:20:13
Speaker
Ha ha. Some time goes by, and the performer puts his loop down again and addresses the crowd. All right, what a wonderful evening, everyone. So glad you all could be enjoying my music. I'm going to take another quick break, as unfortunately my drink is dry.
01:20:31
Speaker
And you hear somebody else go, good, liven up the mood.
01:20:37
Speaker
Well, I will try to do that. In fact, tell you what, sir, if you think you can do any better, you're more than welcome to come back on stage and show me. but in the meantime, I'm going to get a drink. And he steps on down. That's dangerous offer.
01:20:50
Speaker
Maeve looks at Kaladin. you should You should do it. Should I go do it? but You should do it. Ooh. Okay. She sculls her drink, makes sure her mask is attached, and casually wanders up to the stage.
01:21:06
Speaker
This is such a bad idea. All right. You walk up to the stage. I assume you grab the lute, or do you just sing? ah You should grab the lute. Okay, describe to me what Maeve does next.
01:21:18
Speaker
She sits on the stool, I'm assuming there's a stool there, and she goes, well, the offer was put out, so fuck it. and she starts to play and she would sing as well. She would sing in Elvish, but a bit more of a livelier song.
01:21:35
Speaker
She'll sing a lively song that's ah an old, very popular song that's ah both in Elvish and in common and try get the mood up a little bit because that was really bad before.
01:21:47
Speaker
Okay, do me a favor, roll me a performance check. I think this is the first one of of the show. It is. And I have to give you some unfortunate news. Yeah, it's in disadvantage. We still have a label.
01:21:58
Speaker
It is a disadvantage, yes. No, not with the 5.5 rolls. No. It is minus two. Ooh, that is true. so minus two to the roll, good point.
01:22:09
Speaker
Okay, well, I just rolled with a disadvantage, so can I just keep that? So she got a 12. She got better than the guy before. Use the higher one. Essentially take minus two. Yes. Okay, minus two. So that would be six, 15.
01:22:24
Speaker
15. I thought about making a disadvantage because of the alcohol, but I'm not going to do that. It's too good of a time. You guys are having too much fun. You said a 15? Yeah.
01:22:34
Speaker
It is much better, and it because it is much better than it was already previously there, the crowd immediately stops bobbing starts bobbing their head. They start dancing. They start getting into it, and you start to get a cheering crowd who is very much into it. and At one point, actually, both Talira and Kaladin, just a stranger who you can tell is very much enjoying themselves, both ask you to dance. and a very like Not ah a classic professional sort of manner, very much like they're already dancing, they just reach a hand out towards you.
01:23:06
Speaker
Oh, no, no, I'm good, thank you. Okay. You should go dance, Talira. Okay. i don't know all the steps. That's okay, I'll teach you.
01:23:17
Speaker
As we go, let's have fun. All right, fuck it. As Talira begins dancing, Maeve sings the night away with her beautiful lute playing as well. Yellen.
01:23:29
Speaker
Yes, I am wingman supreme. you roll me charisma check? Uh-oh. Oh! Just flat charisma? Yep. Oh, my.
01:23:41
Speaker
If it's a 20, I'm going to die. 19. Holy shit! Did you roll a not 20? I rolled a 19. Oh, my God. I thought you had a minus one, and that would have been really funny. That would be so funny.
01:23:53
Speaker
Damn. Hell yeah. Dude, that's awesome. A bit into Maeve's taking over of singing and playing the lute, you see the bard having at first, if you would have been watching, and I feel like one of you surely would have caught this. You would have seen him sit down and at first cock his head to the side and begin listening.
01:24:10
Speaker
Then you see him to get a bit angry when the crowd started getting into it. And then after a bit, you can see he actually started to lighten up and join it and enjoy the music himself. In the same breath, as you all look around and you see Kiro and Yellen talking to a table with two half-elves at the table, talking them up, and at one point you see that they both sit down on either side and Kiro puts an arm around one of them and they seem to be laughing and giggling and have a great time.
01:24:34
Speaker
What does Yellen look like in this situation? Yellen, he has his glass of wine and very opposite to what Kiro's doing. You can tell he's very animatedly like telling a story.
01:24:45
Speaker
Kiro's got his arm around him and Yellen's like, and so there we were. And it was crazy because was like a mountaintop. And I was like, oh, I can't climb a mountain. And i did i was I was afraid of heights. Really, truly. That's what it was. And then and then and then and then like I thought I was going to fall, but then I oh i didn't.
01:25:04
Speaker
And that's, oh, God. I would have died that day, but I didn't. And that was the best part of the day. The rest of it was awful.
01:25:20
Speaker
part of that whole thing was the crash sound, and then I didn't. And then I didn't.
01:25:30
Speaker
Eddie, what was your what was your name again? Oh, god, you're talking to me. um Giselle! I'm going that. I'm totally using that. it's ah it's a pleasant it's It's a pleasure to meet you, Giselle. I'm Calden. Talira, mate. I'm... i get a yellin'.
01:25:51
Speaker
Yep. I'm yellin'. You're so funny! What? I forgot my own name. Puts her hand on your arm. Oh, don't touch me. Who are you? Oh, yeah, Giselle, right.
01:26:07
Speaker
We pan away and we see Lou dancing among the crowd, but noticing that she always is keeping an eye on Talira and who she's dancing with. and Someone's jelly. Calden also says that.
01:26:18
Speaker
I love that. Just like that. At one point, the bard comes up back up to the stage, just a couple songs in, and taps you on the shoulder. My goodness, you are absolutely wonderful! I did put up the challenge and I must say I think I was bested. Well, can you finish this off so I can go dance now?
01:26:33
Speaker
It will absolutely take the raid. Although I will say, and he addresses the crowd, I'm so sorry that I'm not going be able to live up to her magnificence, but I'll try my best. Woo, echo of a melody. Would that count as bardic inspiration?
01:26:47
Speaker
yeah Is it? You know, I think it could. I think

Tavern Social Dynamics

01:26:50
Speaker
it could. He begins to play again, and you do notice he's picked up a beat. He he is a little bit better after rising to the challenge. open. He did, he learned something. He rose to the challenge. he He was inspired by you and your playing. Did Maeve see Yellen and the chick talking?
01:27:04
Speaker
What is your passive perception? It's 11. 11, no, I don't think you saw that. Not while you were performing. She's gonna look for everyone. Yellen, would you still be talking to them? As long as Kiro hasn't pulled him away, he probably, he probably is still talking. like Like, you know, I did know a knight once. He's not really a knight, but he kind of was. He is very kind to me.
01:27:27
Speaker
You see as Kiro ends up, well, ladies, it was absolutely wonderful. But I gotta say, I'm getting, I'm just getting so tired, you know, been drinking too much. But I've got a room if you all are tired, too.
01:27:40
Speaker
Calden has meandered over to them at this point and he makes a face. Icky, icky, icky. Giselle, are you tired? You don't look awful tired. Neither do you, Kira. Really, really, really, what I'm thinking is like maybe we could get like another round or something.
01:27:57
Speaker
Kira looks at you would like, dude, what are you doing? I'm thirsty. well, I'd rather be more drunk than I am now. I'm sorry, ladies.
01:28:08
Speaker
I'm going to go get drinks and I'll be back. And this is this is the point, Sephira, that Maeve would be able to see Yellen sitting with Giselle, or with now two women as Kira has walked away. Two women. And Calden is also standing there. Calden is there too.
01:28:29
Speaker
This is my friend Calden, who I was talking about, who routinely disappears. I've got no idea where he goes. And I miss him and then he's gone. and And I'm like, oh, shit, wait, never mind. There he is.
01:28:40
Speaker
I'm just standing here, I don't... See? He's just standing there, like, the whole time, and I just saw him. Maeve just gets herself a drink and just slowly walks up to them. i I... Hi. it's It's nice to meet you.
01:28:55
Speaker
This is awkward now.
01:28:59
Speaker
you know I can't believe it wasn't awkward earlier with Kiro here. He's usually very good at that. This is so funny. He's a real lady killer. Literally, we all

Confrontation: Maeve and Yellen

01:29:10
Speaker
killed this lady who was in Apothecary. Don't tell anyone, though.
01:29:14
Speaker
Yeah, I think we're gonna... I think we're gonna go and they like get up and grab their drinks and start to walk away. Right as Jiro's coming back and he's, ladies, ladies! what Oh no. Bro, what I'm sorry, Jiro, they did not think you were handsome enough.
01:29:30
Speaker
Oh shit! He stands there, dumbfounded with a couple drinks hand. They they thought you probably had a small peen. They said it's probably like... What's a small fraction?
01:29:44
Speaker
Sixteenth. One sixteenth of your entire body. i Take your drinks. Here. They said they said they they pointed at the other Goliath in the room. They were like, she probably... She's got big dick energy. She probably has a way bigger penis than him. Metaphorically. They're walking over to her now.
01:30:05
Speaker
Talira stealing the thing. She never, I swear. And he puts sides of the drinks down and chases after them. Thank you I love doing that to him. I know, it's so funny.
01:30:16
Speaker
So, uh, uh, uh, do you mind, can I, you, did you want other women sitting here or can I? You could be the only woman sitting there. That's alright. I'm not a woman.
01:30:31
Speaker
Did you think I was a woman all this time? Maeve is right there too. For the record, Maeve is there. Maeve was walking up. Maeve's gonna like, take a left turn.
01:30:43
Speaker
What's going on
01:30:48
Speaker
Who do you think I am? don't know. You would like to take a seat anyway, sir? I don't know anymore if I want to.
01:30:59
Speaker
ah you going to... I'll tell you the tales of my heroic deeds. But so many of them. Are you trying to impress a date? Because i don't I don't think you want to try and impress me.
01:31:13
Speaker
No, I don't. i i ah You look very unimpressed and I don't really feel like impressing anyone. Oh no, I'm super impressed with you all the time, Yamen. You're great. You know my name? Oh my. going to be either very good or very bad?
01:31:28
Speaker
It's because I'm your stalker. What? Fuck it. You're just going to sit there and just listen. I know who your best friend is. I want to listen to this. Hi, babe. What are you doing here? I thought you were playing music.
01:31:43
Speaker
Yellen's gonna kind of like sit back in his chair. Maeve, Clara, got it! Hello? Maeve, are you doing okay? Because I know that that kind of shit just fucking sucks. And then it like it still hurts for a while afterwards, you know?
01:31:58
Speaker
And then you're like how you're like, I just wish I could die. And then you can't die because they won't let you, right? And then, yeah fuck, it sucks, right? She's just sculling her drink. She's just like well literally sculling her drink. like Yeah.
01:32:14
Speaker
Great. Because then you like, you try to die, right? You like, try to and then you don't. Well, you do, but then you're not, right? Are you okay?
01:32:25
Speaker
Yeah, I'm good. Why? are you Are you okay? That's what I'm worried about. Uh... Sure. You know, casual torture, burning alive, freezing to death. See, that's about. That's what I mean. That's what I'm talking about. is so fun.
01:32:46
Speaker
Can't just like, you know, ah have a nice ball and dance and shit. You just gotta, you know, casually almost go play. even go to school and like have a life, right? Like it sucks.
01:32:58
Speaker
Fuck, you went to school? so i Didn't you go school? I...trained. i I guess. I was in Fenland's... Fenland had a private tutor and I just kind of um took notes.
01:33:14
Speaker
oh We didn't have private tutors where I grew up. Ah, you probably didn't have a Fenland either. No. I had a Yonis. He was better. What's Yonis?
01:33:27
Speaker
Probably better. my best friend. He's dead now. Oh, that's sad. Fenelon's not dead. I hope. If he's dead, I suck at my job. I'm glad. I hope you never find his head on your kitchen table.
01:33:38
Speaker
I think I'd have to kill myself if that happened. What? Oh, yeah. You try. You try. But then they don't let you. Nah, I think they would. i i think I would just lose my head.
01:33:50
Speaker
Because it's, cause this you know... Oh, oh, oh, look! And he he pulls he pulls the, like, I don't know, his shirt, because he wears a turtleneck. He pulls it down a bit, and you just see the, like, imprint of burn marks around his neck that look like maybe barbed wire or something like that.
01:34:15
Speaker
Damn. He's like, I basically lost mine. Damn! That's pretty sick, Kaldan. I think, um, I'm glad you didn't because it would be really awkward adventuring with you with without a head.
01:34:30
Speaker
No, I think it'd better. Nah. Your head, here yeah you've got a good you've got a good head. It's just, it's one those heads that stick on a neck, you know? It stays on. Yep.
01:34:42
Speaker
It stays on. And it's so it's so good. It's really good at staying there. I'm really proud of that. And, um, Yeah, I'm so glad that we had this conversation about heads.
01:34:57
Speaker
What the- No, I'm really sorry. i didn't mean I didn't mean to make it about me. Are you okay, Mae? No, no, no, no, no. no no no no no no no na and in it I- Calden, are you okay?

Talira's Support for Maeve

01:35:08
Speaker
Oh, it's so old now. It doesn't even matter.
01:35:11
Speaker
Yeah. i It's like years old. Years. so years old. It's not even the worst. It's fine. Calden. If you lose your head, I will kill you.
01:35:24
Speaker
Maeve, Maeve. And he like grabs one of her hands in both of his and looks in her eyes. Do you promise? That I will kill you if you lose your head?
01:35:36
Speaker
Yes. You cannot lose your head. You're too important. Good. Thank you. You're welcome. I'm always here for you, Calden. And I will stab a bitch if need be.
01:35:48
Speaker
No, don't do that. Oh, Cowden! I have removed someone's head before. That shit's hard. You did? Oh, I've never done that. I don't think I've killed very many people. Not like living people anyway.
01:36:03
Speaker
Have I killed any living people? Did I kill anyone when we were attacked? Yellen, has Cowden killed anyone? What the fuck is going on? I... um... no! Calder, I don't know! I... Calder's not killed many people, don't think. don't think I dontgar killed very many people. you oh It's hard. Oh my.
01:36:26
Speaker
I think we broke him. need to drink more of this. You know, I think I might try something else. I didn't like the vodka. I don't want the vodka again ever again. That's fair. Okay. That was bad. No taste in bad. Try this. And she hands him her drink and it's, uh, I think this time she's trying mead.
01:36:43
Speaker
So she has like a, it's a nice sweet mead. Smells sweet. it is what is It is honey with meat. It's a meat. It also tastes bad, but it's sweet.
01:36:56
Speaker
It is sweet and it's delicious. It's sweet like Yellen. oh It is a sweetie. you You're too kind. You're too kind. Too kind to me.
01:37:07
Speaker
Sure. Well, i think yeah I will leave now. i Wait, are we leaving? No, no, just me. It's fine.
01:37:18
Speaker
You can stay. Why? Well, I just... I just thought I'd leave, is all. You're going to go kill someone? No, you're going to go kill someone. He's too precious to kill someone right now.
01:37:31
Speaker
Calvin, people dying in front of you is no good laughing matter. It's not a competition. Trust me. I don't want to kill anyone, Yellen. Why do you think I want... Do you think I like killing people?
01:37:42
Speaker
I thought that's what you were just saying. You wish you had killed more people. No, I wouldn't like to kill anyone ever. I'm a little bit lost in this conversation. There's some people I'd like to kill, but I couldn't ever, so would just be bad if I tried.
01:37:59
Speaker
oh There's a lot of people who deserve to die though. That is true. I met a few. I bet. I don't ever want to deal with the Morta for Pactum again. they suck. I do. I want to.
01:38:10
Speaker
I like to deal them again. Nope. You don't. Nope. She's like, she has like, she smiles, but it's like a little bit, it's it's dark. It's a dark smile. That's a bit frightening. Yeah.
01:38:22
Speaker
I'm gonna go pee. Okay. goatpa Go piss, go. It's a... he's a man. Well, I just... it's the saying. It's the way you said. He's a man, Yellen. He can do his manly pee in a manly bush.
01:38:37
Speaker
I stand when I pee.

Drunken Antics and Camaraderie

01:38:40
Speaker
He stares when he pees. I wish I could stand when I pee. You could. I think it would not be as easy.
01:38:48
Speaker
No. Well, maybe easy to pee, but like, clothes and shit. Yeah. I don't know how it works, though. Neither do I. I think all three of you that I'm seeing currently, Kaladin, should go pee.
01:39:03
Speaker
I'm gonna go pee. Goodbye. And he like stands up and kind of staggers away.
01:39:13
Speaker
While you all were talking, Lou pats on Talira with paws up. I'm essentially asking you to dance as well. Like pick her up and dance with her. Of course! And Talira will use one of her charges of speak with animals. This is so much fun!
01:39:28
Speaker
Right? Oh my gosh! I need more to drink, though. Oh, we will fix that. Absolutely. i i have I have a bit of a tolerance as a bear. I know, I... Kiaro owes me a keg.
01:39:42
Speaker
We're not... oh Yeah. That's exciting. Yeah. Okay, let's go get some. I like this. Can I choose the keg? Sure. Oh, yes, I'm getting that strawberry mead. It was so good last time.
01:39:54
Speaker
Oh, that does sound good. Right? just got a... Oh, I don't know. a whole keg, though. i might get a belly egg. That's a lot of sugar. We can ask if they have a dryer mead. Ooh, can you do that?
01:40:06
Speaker
Yes, please. Thank you so much. Yeah, yeah, I got you, Gord. Words, I hate that word. It is the worst word to say in common. Girl? Yes. know, I kind of like it when you say it. It feels weird. Let's go get some mead. Okay, yeah, mead.
01:40:22
Speaker
Kelden, as you step outside to pee, do you go around, i assume you'd like go around a corner find a good spot, right? Obviously. i wouldn't pee in front of people. Right. So you go around. You try to find a good spot that's dark. Little dark corner do it.
01:40:35
Speaker
You do your deed. No problems. But as you turn around, there is dark shadowed figure with a hood up. About five or ten feet leaning against the wall. Do you need to pee? You, Keldon.
01:40:46
Speaker
Who are you? He walks up and hands a letter out to you. Ve'eroth sends his regards. He holds the letter out. What has the recent weather been like here?
01:40:58
Speaker
Dry? Wet? Do we have any mud? Yeah, there's mud. He drops it in the mud. All right. He turns around and runs off. And then he picks it up after that guy's out of sight.
01:41:12
Speaker
That's hilarious. I fucking love it. I love it. He needed to send a message, okay? Fuck you. That's so funny.
01:41:23
Speaker
He's gonna stay outside and find somewhere with residual light so he can see well enough to read this letter. You find a good spot with a little bit of light. You pull off the wax seal and open it.
01:41:35
Speaker
Kaladin, I've heard of the contract your friends have taken. I want the box and its contents. Nothing else. a There's no signature on it, nothing that says it's from Beyroth or anything like that.
01:41:48
Speaker
There's a fire inside, I'm guessing. Oh yeah, and there's torches that light some of the pathways here because you're along one of the main strips. You could easily torch it. Yeah, he's going to burn the lutter.
01:41:59
Speaker
As the rest of you are enjoying your drinks and having a good time at the tavern, how long do you all plan on staying? Maeve will probably just stay until anyone else leaves. She she needs to not think.
01:42:11
Speaker
Talira's there for moral support. She will stay as long as Maeve wants to be there. You all continue to mingle, have conversation and such, and Maeve, you get your opportunity to dance.
01:42:25
Speaker
Disappear among the crowd and lose yourself. Some hours go by and you can notice how tired you are getting considering you are still tired from the day before. But not only that, The other three of you and Lu, you all can notice it as her dancing begins to falter.
01:42:41
Speaker
All right, Maeve. Let's get you back home. But I'm having fun. We'll have music back at the apartment. You promise?
01:42:52
Speaker
Sure, yes. i promise. Bye, people that I met on the dance floor. Where is, um, Kalden and Yellen? Kalden came back in and sat down with Yellen, and he's got, like, his arm around him as they're talking shit about something.
01:43:12
Speaker
think they're gonna kiss. You think? i don't know. I don't know. Talira just kind of looks over, trying to read the situation.
01:43:24
Speaker
Yellen is kind of like s slight actively sliding further down, like he can't hold himself up at this point. I don't think he has the strength to kiss right now.

Maeve's Emotional Breakdown

01:43:34
Speaker
Lou looks like she's about to slide off too.
01:43:37
Speaker
Yeah, I think we need to get you all home. Lou is actively trying to climb onto the bar top and sliding back down every time. Well, Maeve goes up to them and puts a hand out for Jelen and Kalden. She's like, Shall we go? Is it time for bed?
01:43:56
Speaker
it' is bedtime. Come on, Lou! Exactly. Lou turns, her eyes widen, and she hurries down and thinks this much is probably more urgent than it is, and so, like, hurries towards you. Oh we're we are heading home.
01:44:08
Speaker
Everyone is... Gravity is taking over. Yana probably needs to go out. Oh. May still has her hands out for both of them to eat them off. the Calvin grabs it.
01:44:21
Speaker
Yay! Yelen also will. Maeve like tugs them both off the chairs. And then we all lose our balance because Maeve absolutely cannot handle that extra weight. Okay, okay. And Talira just kind of stands behind everyone with her arms out.
01:44:37
Speaker
And you know, she's big as shit. She can probably like entire arm span, keep most of them upright if needed. Anybody to hop on my back or are you good to walk?
01:44:51
Speaker
We should fly back. i cannot fly. i don't think any of you can fly either. I fly. can fly. should fly back. I can fly. i want to fly, Tleera.
01:45:04
Speaker
Okay. We all put our arms out. We fly. That's so lame. i am sorry I cannot grow wings.
01:45:16
Speaker
I wish you could. Life would be so much easier if people could just grow wings. Very Everything would have been better for me if everyone could just grow wings. Oh. Wings are good. but i like wings. Wings would be fucking awesome. You know, wonder if the dragon, if they caught the dragon.
01:45:34
Speaker
We could fly on this right caught the dragon. I should have grabbed my lyre. didn't know you played the liar. Huh? I didn't know you played the liar. I played the liar in front of you like 20 times.
01:45:48
Speaker
She played for us all the time when we were not sleeping. few years ago. What? Yeah. Do you not remember the bear and I just use it as for magic? Do you not even at Ellen? Yellen, you do know this Maeve, right?
01:46:04
Speaker
What?
01:46:11
Speaker
Yellen, how many fingers am I holding up? yeah Seven. Seven? On the one hand? hey you had one hand?
01:46:24
Speaker
Okay, Yellen. You need to go to bed. Let's go too back. And Maeve just grabs his arm and let's go.
01:46:36
Speaker
thank you, Sip. Get me out.
01:46:42
Speaker
You're a strange one.
01:46:46
Speaker
Talira, actually, can you roll me a ah skill that I got to figure out on to corral everyone safely back to the apartment? Animal handling? Animal handling. Animal handling is going to be the best, yeah.
01:47:03
Speaker
That's an 11. An 11. an eleven Yeah, it's a struggle. It takes you probably twice as long to get back as it did you for you to get here. Yeah. Quick, Yellen, jump on my back.
01:47:14
Speaker
I can carry you two. don't think this is wise. Oh, no, no, way that life no, no. no i I just want to fly. Then Look, look, I can get us somewhere. We won't even have to fly. Are you ready? Yeah, what, Yellen? What?
01:47:31
Speaker
I cast banishment on myself. Oh, my God, what?
01:47:40
Speaker
do you Do you have that skull? Did you actually? Yeah, I have i've had it the whole time. Can you wait? No, no, no, no, no. I got something though. Throw me a constitution saving throw to see if you can even get the word pronunciations correctly for the component. Oh my God.
01:47:56
Speaker
It's not too bad. You said it's a save? Yeah, we'll do a saving throw because, like, you're trying hold your drunkenness. 16. 16. Oh my god. my fucking god.
01:48:06
Speaker
Oh my god. um vi
01:48:14
Speaker
Where did Yelen go? Oh fuck. I'm going to kill him. Maeve just silent. goes silent. This is triggering as fuck for her. She goes quiet.
01:48:34
Speaker
Yellen comes, he pops back into reality. Yeah, like a later, he just- Mae walks straight up to him and slaps him across the face. You kind of deserved that, you shithead. Wait, I- Don't you dare do that again. i apologize from the bottom of my heart. I, uh, I, I, I, I'm sorry.
01:48:54
Speaker
She just shoves him and walks off. Can he stand, stay upright after getting shot? No, you fool. No, no, absolutely not. You deserved that. And he- Keldon holds out his hand.
01:49:07
Speaker
I take it. I just thought it'd be funny if I tried to pretended like I teleported there and then I just was here, actually. He yanks him up. You disappeared already.
01:49:18
Speaker
Like, for three years. I mean, I, yeah. I mean, this was more under my control, which is why I thought, you know, maybe, it wouldn't be- You didn't tell us! You just disappeared! Isaiah, watch this!
01:49:33
Speaker
I didn't hear that. I was fucked up. Yeah, I have to apologize. I feel i say pre feel pretty pretty fucking sorry. Good. You should. Yeah.
01:49:45
Speaker
I'm gonna, um'm think I'm gonna go throw up now. That's good. Talira has rushed off to make sure Maeve is okay while all of this is happening. Maeve.
01:49:56
Speaker
What? He completely deserved that. Of course he fucking did. You okay? No! Why the fuck would I be okay? I watched him get thrown into a fucking portal and he fucking makes light of it.
01:50:09
Speaker
I have spent three fucking years looking for that asshole and then I finally find him and he comes here and then I get fucking kidnapped within the same fucking night. Of course I'm not fucking okay, Talira!
01:50:23
Speaker
You're right. Get it out. Yell whatever you need. Hit me whatever you need. I'm not to fucking hit you. already hit him. That's, that's no, it's just, it it's just, i couldn't walk.
01:50:38
Speaker
I, my legs were fucked. I spent every amount of time looking for him. I, and then he pops back up and then, yeah and then,
01:50:53
Speaker
And he was a shithead. Yeah. Yeah. Hey. It's just... What? You're here now.
01:51:05
Speaker
You're here now. And he is here now. And we are not going to let this happen to you again. You know what?
01:51:17
Speaker
The gods must have some sick fucking sense of humour, I swear. I watched an entire stone giant tribe get murdered.
01:51:29
Speaker
Yellen comes back and then I'm and i'm forced to fucking eat rocks.
01:51:35
Speaker
Sick fucking joke.
01:51:44
Speaker
It even had bruises on it and... Just... It's fine.
01:51:53
Speaker
It's... No. fine It's not fine. It has to be fine. Or it doesn't have to be fine and we get angry about it and we do something.
01:52:03
Speaker
It's... But I... I am angry, Talira. I am angry and I am sad and I have so much to do still. I don't have time.
01:52:17
Speaker
and I'm... Yeah. Talira kneels down and holds her arms out for a hug if Maeve wants a hug.
01:52:30
Speaker
Maeve hugs her back and she just cries. and know. There is always so much to do. And you can take as much time as you need, because that work is always going to be there.
01:52:46
Speaker
You don't have to kill yourself to do it, Maeve. I don't know how not to. I wish I could help you there, but my mum was the same way.
01:53:00
Speaker
She became Chieftain for the same reason my father died. It also killed the previous Chieftain and... She had to go through all of that.
01:53:11
Speaker
All of that and still take care of a tribe, take care of me, and... She did it. Your dad did it for you. It sounds like he did a kind of fucked up job, to be honest, but he did it.
01:53:25
Speaker
And you can do it too. Takes time.

Reflective Departure from Tavern

01:53:30
Speaker
But pretending that it's fine? That's not fine. It just causes you to crumble after all.
01:53:37
Speaker
You can't hold all of this yourself, Maeve. Let us help you. Maybe not him right now. He's a dipshit. No, he is a dipshit.
01:53:49
Speaker
But let him get his head back on and we're here for you. However you need. Sounds like you have a dagger to To give back.
01:54:00
Speaker
I do. He wasn't the worst of them, but... And we'll get them too. Yeah.
01:54:09
Speaker
I will try my best to tell you when I'm not okay, as long as it... you know that me not being okay doesn't mean I can't do what we need to do, I just... I understand better than you think.
01:54:25

Talira, I'd say you are able to finally corral all of them to the apartment after the mess of events. Cool. And I would say that you'll probably get a pretty solid, deep coma of a long rest after all that.
01:55:51
Speaker
Hell yeah. Yes. As you all get some rest, preparing for the morning, knowing that life's going to come back hard again, i mean, there's a lot of things to deal with come the sunrise.

Dear Fenlen, I analyzed the divination spell that you had sent me. It is perplexing. The innoc innocent is likely referring to the fact that the children that you actively seek, most likely the newest of the deceased, did not lose their souls in an earthly way.
01:59:07
Speaker
I suspect they may have been transported or taken somewhere, but it's hard to tell exactly what that could mean, which is common for divinations. The primal in nature part it specifically catches my attention. It may be a hint to...
01:59:23
Speaker
In my opinion, maybe an important location for what you seek or for the divination in general. Something definitely to put more thought to. It seems as if their bodies will not be found anywhere, considering the lack of earthly. But there is still something to be gained.

What that is, is uncertain, but if you say your friend is a member of the Anima Clarigi, then we do know of Isakun, and he can tend to be direct even when it appears not to be. I'm sorry I cannot be more help.
01:59:52
Speaker
I definitely recommend reaching out to somebody from the Anima Clarigi specifically, as they may have more insight to Isakun's divinations. I wish you best. Saint Riga, the Progressional Church of Creole.
