Ep 50- Special Encore Episode. Bringing back a listener (and personal) favorite episode for "the good old days" (2021).

Pertinent to this time of year (not just for animal welfare workers), a lot of us are promising too much and feeling like we're delivering too little. We really need to think a little bit about self-care and instead we're thinking about everybody else in our lives that we could help, and good for us That's awesome. However sometimes it can feel like a lot. Things get overwhelming, and fatigue can set in. When we're in this state, we are not fun, we are not relaxed, And if you're like me you ultimately regret not doing better. So this episode is for everyone who just feels a little overwhelmed at the moment or maybe with life in general and could use a bit of a perspective change.

Guest: Hilary Hager has spent the last twenty years managing volunteers in animal welfare environments and currently serves as the Vice President of Outreach, Engagement and Training at the Humane Society of the United States. Engaging volunteers in meaningful work to make the world a more humane place is Hilary’s passion and life’s work. She teaches compassion fatigue workshops around the country to help provide members of the animal protection community the support and resources to maintain their own well-being while working in a challenging and emotionally-charged environment.
