The SnowJobs Podcast: Coming to you live from a combine tonight, right?
Rick James: Yes, sir. I'm sitting there in combine. Combining some soybeans. Having a good time.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Dedication. That is dedication, man. Whatever it takes to get it done.
Rick James: ah Gotta get it done. Gotta get it done.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah. ah
Rick James: You said I sound better out here anyway than I do at...
The SnowJobs Podcast: You do. You definitely do You definitely sound better in the combine.
Rick James: So.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I like it a lot.
Jeff Bays: Okay.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Good for you.
Rick James: It's... It's good time out here.
Jeff Bays: click
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep, so ah we are here with another Arctic Army Roll Call edition.
Jeff Bays: we
The SnowJobs Podcast: This is going to be Razorback 2026 -27 edition.
Jeff Bays: Okay.
The SnowJobs Podcast: we're We got with us tonight, Mr. Jeff Bays. Jeff is like, he's got to be, if he's not the hardest working, he is definitely one of the hardest working guys at Arctic snow and ice products.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Answers the phone incredibly 24 hours a day, seven days a week, no matter what happens. Despite being multiple time zones away on the West Coast, ah Jeff is the guy to call with the Razorback stuff, and he always answers the phone. He is like Mr. Razorback. So he's here tonight. He's going to tell us.
The SnowJobs Podcast: all about the Razorback and what's new and improved for the 26 -27 Razorback.
Jeff Bays: Please.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Because if you guys know Arctic at all, and by now you do, you know they're never done tweaking, they're never done tinkering, and they're never done upgrading based on user feedback.
Jeff Bays: many sometimes them i Okay.
The SnowJobs Podcast: So Jeff Bays, welcome.
Jeff Bays: this
The SnowJobs Podcast: Welcome to the show, buddy.
Jeff Bays: Thanks, boys.
Rick James: Hey Jeff.
Jeff Bays: It's a pleasure. It's been ah been a long time coming and I'm excited.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Absolutely. They wouldn't let you in on the last one.
Jeff Bays: No, they want.
Rick James: Ha ha.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Well, that's when you were supposed to be in on it, and he got jacked.
Jeff Bays: No. Yeah, that got shut shut down at the at the ninth hour on that one for sure.
The SnowJobs Podcast: It did.
Rick James: ah
The SnowJobs Podcast: Well, now you got your own episode.
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
Rick James: Yeah.
Jeff Bays: yeahp
The SnowJobs Podcast: They can't stop you.
Rick James: Yeah.
Jeff Bays: Oh.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh man. How are you? Good.
Jeff Bays: Yeah, good, man. Just getting ready for the winter. Winter roll -up is starting and... You know, a lot of guys talking about what they had last year, what they need this year and getting everything fixed up, for ready to roll.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Overall, i I think last year, huge success for the Razorback full. you know the ah The first year was the Razorback retro and obviously. That needed to be improved. Arctic had to have their own headgear. They had to make it Arctic. you know they had the Everything had to be under their control so they could control the quality. and i i From a personal standpoint, what I got to experience last year was a...
The SnowJobs Podcast: monstrous success. I couldn't have been happier with it. And I'm sure you guys got a lot of the same feedback from everybody else out there that had them.
Rick James: it's
Jeff Bays: Yeah, the the retros did well for a lot of people, but there were some some things that held them up, like some weight and and functionality. um But it was a good, it was a really good.
Jeff Bays: Test bed.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Hmm?
Jeff Bays: um And it allowed us to really get down and dirty and make the full kit what it is. And you know I think anybody that ran a retro and then ran a full kit will give the same feedback that.
Jeff Bays: um The retro did the job, the full kit. is the truth.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh absolutely. absolutely yeah there's a guy in my area that had the retro kit and uh when he saw
Rick James: yeah Definitely.
The SnowJobs Podcast: i showed him how the down pressure worked and he's like well shit i gotta get rid of this thing now yeah But ah it was great, dude. i I didn't have any complaints. I love that thing. That's not a big secret. i told you, I told, uh, Spencer, I told Lucas, I told Blake, it it was just an absolute pleasure to run that plow and the productivity increase.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I knew it was going to increase productivity, but. I just had no idea how fast it would really take care of shit. that It was just, you know, something that I could not have imagined without it.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Being able to use put that thing in win row. and be able to put that that leading wing. two, three inches from the edge of the the windrow and not lose a bit of snow off the front edge. It was, that was incredible to me and scrape as clean as an Arctic always scrapes.
The SnowJobs Podcast: It was like, holy shit, man. This thing is total game changer.
Jeff Bays: Yeah, it's cool. A lot of the things that I like to do in the winter is I like to chase storms, right? I'll figure out where the storm is and, you know, I'll get up at one in the morning, drive around, find contractors doing something, get out of my truck, throw in my keys and say, hey.
Jeff Bays: give it a go, you know, and a lot of guys have that skeptical feel. And by the end, by the end of that half hour or whatever, I'm giving them a card and they're like, Hey man, I'll call you when we need to outfit another truck. Right.
Jeff Bays: Because it it, all it takes is to experience.
Rick James: you know
Jeff Bays: 10 minutes of a razorback and and it's like okay well i can see the value in it now
The SnowJobs Podcast: 100%.
Rick James: ye
The SnowJobs Podcast: and so's And that's the kind of the hard thing to do and with plows and stuff is it's not as easy as, hey, yeah we want you to test this new dirt bucket.
Rick James: 100%.
The SnowJobs Podcast: You go out, you take the bucket and you run it through dirt. Same with any dirt attachment. Snow, that's kind of a that's a tough thing to duplicate. So ah you got to really take advantage of the time you can get on them.
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: But ah so. You know, Arctic never sleeps. They never rest. They don't like to sleep. ah What's new 2027? What did they update for this year going into this winter?
Jeff Bays: I mean, just so it was just a few, like, revolution tweaks, right? Like, you know, the last year's units were were very proven. um there There were very few um issues outside of the, you know, the...
Jeff Bays: callers on social media, as we all saw about, you know, ah wing fittings coming loose.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm hmm.
Jeff Bays: um but But after we you know started having people Loctite those and and maintain them a little bit, those calls were...
Rick James: yep
Jeff Bays: Fractionized.
Jeff Bays: um but outside of that i mean you know we we came up with an update on the truck side harness um something that we ran into was the ends of the harness that plug into the plow the connectors that was if one of those gets damaged it's a full job to replace the harness and everything so this year we uh we put a connector on the other side of those two connections to the plow so it's just a connector swap now you can unplug the connectors plug it back in and you're and you're back rolling um that was a big convenience factor even getting it through the grill right a lot of these trucks have super tight grills and instead of having to take the grill off or move a bunch of stuff you can just
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh nice.
Rick James: nice
Jeff Bays: unconnect it slide the connector through the grill and then plug them in it was a really really good thing um
Jeff Bays: on that side and then um controller i think probably the the most improvement probably is the revolution on the controller. um Just...
Jeff Bays: visibility of it they did a big time update on the led backlights so it's much easier to see like you know if you're putting it in like hitching mode right like when you put it in hitching mode you press the down button a lot of times you have to put your hand over the controller to see the backlight flash to indicate you're in hitching mode um the leds are much much brighter um on this revolution so that won't be as big of an issue.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
Rick James: a
The SnowJobs Podcast: I did not experience that I also did not experience the dead thumb I remember somebody was, who was it you?
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I think it was you that called me.
Jeff Bays: Yeah, it was me.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Like when we had the massive 23 incher, we were going for like 24, 30 hours.
Jeff Bays: Yeah. Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: And you're like, Hey, can you still feel your thumb? And I'm like, is this like a trick question or something?
Rick James: ah
The SnowJobs Podcast: Like, no, somebody said their thumb went numb for like days.
Jeff Bays: What?
The SnowJobs Podcast: I'm like, no, I've been running the damn thing. I have no thumb numbness.
Jeff Bays: i remember that call because because i you know i there's a few of you guys that i talk to pretty regular like richard shields up in the up that had 500 plus hours on his plow you know smith
The SnowJobs Podcast: Well... but
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep. Yup.
Jeff Bays: um Jeremy, you, you know, guys that I talk to pretty regularly.
Rick James: yep
Jeff Bays: And I had just got off the phone with that guy and I'm like, I'm going to call Steve. I know he's on a bender right now.
Rick James: That's it.
Jeff Bays: He's been in the truck for like 23 hours. If somebody's going to have a dead thumb, it's going to be freaking Steve. So like I literally called you and I remember that. Hey, dude, is your thumb all right?
The SnowJobs Podcast: like What the fuck is he talking about?
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Uh, yeah.
Jeff Bays: I... i think he i think the guy just wanted a joystick i think he was pressing to have a joystick which you know i think in years to come blake said that they're working on um but i think he he was a joystick guy so that's i think that's what he was just pressing for it wasn't really that his thumb was dead he just wanted something different than what i could supply him with at that point
The SnowJobs Podcast: I was going to say get yourself some man thumbs. I don't know what to tell you.
Rick James: yeah i have
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
Rick James: i don't I haven't seen a joystick for years. I don't know what the heck.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I had a I've always run Westerns in the fleet, so the controller is very similar. to the, ah to the Western, you know, joystick controller so i i like that handheld And it worked fine for me.
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I had no problems. The only problems I had. And it's not really a problem. It was on my end when I got tired. Um, After a while. And, you know, you lose. some your your motor sensor sensory after a while when you're exhausted.
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: And I started hitting two buttons at once. That was the only thing, but that was on me.
Jeff Bays: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: That's not the controller. That's me being less than awake at that point.
Rick James: Huh.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I love you. But, no, I loved it, man. I couldn't say enough about it. And I tried to kill that thing. And I think I did more damage to my truck trying to fuck with the plow than ah than than the plow.
The SnowJobs Podcast: The plow just kept spitting up candy, whatever you did to it. And I was stacking that thing. I think I sent you and Big Daddy pictures of ah the plow in the air. three feet over the truck hood, you know, stacking because we were just out of room.
Jeff Bays: Yeah
Rick James: that
Jeff Bays: Yeah, no, I mean, ah ah the vast majority of the guys that... I mean, went out and threw everything they can. I can't tell you how many times I heard, oh, my guys will break it, right?
Rick James: yeah
Jeff Bays: Um, And i can I can only think of one scenario where... an operator was clearly just trying to break it and was using it in a function way that it It wouldn't.
Jeff Bays: it wouldn't do what he wanted to do and he broke it.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
Jeff Bays: And, and it was just, I i fixed the plow twice and and he kept doing the same thing. I'm like, god you got to listen to, it's not designed to do it, do that. Right.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
Jeff Bays: But, you know, but there's always those guys.
The SnowJobs Podcast: yeah Normal. Yeah, no, normal.
Rick James: yeah yeah
The SnowJobs Podcast: I'm talking normal plow function, just going as hard as possible.
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: you know you
Jeff Bays: Yep.
Rick James: yeah
The SnowJobs Podcast: doing what it's meant to be done just as hard as possible repeatedly. And I had nothing. And I also want to point out. I had no leaks. All year. We didn't lose a drop of fluid.
The SnowJobs Podcast: And I will say this for everybody out there listening. Mark, who my my mechanic Mark, who puts everything together, makes everything go, couldn't couldn't do it without him. He is very anal about following instructions to the T.
The SnowJobs Podcast: And. if He followed the assembly instructions, and we assembled it from scratch. It came in the box, and we assembled everything.
Jeff Bays: students
The SnowJobs Podcast: I should say Mark assembled everything. He did it to the T. He tightened everything to the T as he followed every instruction and we never had a leak. So. Any leaks came from improper torquing of the fittings, I think.
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
Rick James: oh
Jeff Bays: Well that and it comes from like, you know guy guys having a leak in the field, right?
Rick James: still
Jeff Bays: and
Rick James: Yeah.
Jeff Bays: And it's knee jerk to just grab a couple of wrenches and tighten it and not realize, hey, the hose has got a twist in it.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm hmm.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm hmm.
Jeff Bays: Because if the hose has a twist in it and it's tight and everything's moving, it's just going to keep coming loose.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Sure.
Rick James: It's gonna flex off.
Jeff Bays: So it's if you do have an issue, it's just important to get it fixed the right way.
Rick James: Yep.
Jeff Bays: And that way you don't have prolonged issues, right? um we'll talk I have maintenance on on the list to talk about tonight, and that's something we'll talk about.
The SnowJobs Podcast: That's it bud.
Jeff Bays: But, um you know, just just going through things and making sure everything is fit and finish and and everything's up to snuff. you know that's key to a plow like this because there's so many moving parts
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh yeah.
Rick James: All 100%.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Absolutely. So you got the the biggest thing for this year is to make all the Fisher guys happy. ah The Fisher mount is available.
Jeff Bays: Yeah
The SnowJobs Podcast: So now you basically have all the major OEMs, right?
Jeff Bays: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: That's everything.
Jeff Bays: Yeah, so now we can do Western Snow X, which you utilize the same horn system on the truck.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm hmm.
Jeff Bays: And then we just are introducing the Fisher system. Blake just got the design done. They're getting test fitted now. They'll be in production quickly. Same type of thing. They pin on four different.
Jeff Bays: Heights for different front end heights of trucks. Um, But yeah, it's ah it's a great design. Blake killed it like he always does. um But yeah, any major, really major manufacturer, we can make work with their mount now.
The SnowJobs Podcast: That's awesome.
Rick James: That's awesome.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Very cool.
Rick James: It means more plows going out then. Minutes.
Jeff Bays: It does, especially especially in the Northeast that got quite a bit of snow last year.
The SnowJobs Podcast: That's it.
Rick James: Thanks.
Jeff Bays: Got a geyser buying, got a geyser looking. So, um you know, getting that out there where we can. up fit a fleet of trucks a guy has 12 fishers on his trucks.
Jeff Bays: He wants to put one razor back on there. We can do it without him switching up, changing the whole shit and caboodle, right? And along with that, you know, along with the with the mount, where we came out with the new 82K universal harness, which, Steve, I sent you.
Rick James: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: mm -hmm
Jeff Bays: Um, it's a harness that is completely independent of fisher western boss snow x any other wiring it's completely independent on power completely independent on light switch So you can literally up fit your truck with an Arctic setup.
Jeff Bays: And if you run... a boss mount you don't have to change anything you can hook up to either plow on the spot. If you have a Douglas Dynamics plow. All you got to do is swap the push bar.
Jeff Bays: um So if you... Add that fleet of trucks that you don't want to. take the risk and pull everything off of one truck because you want to go to your fleet plow We can up fit you, get you set up so it's a five minute push bar swap at the most to go between the plows.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Nice. Oh, that's awesome.
Rick James: That's awesome.
Jeff Bays: Um,
The SnowJobs Podcast: So that really caters to guys that have fleets of trucks. That's ah that's phenomenal.
Jeff Bays: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Super.
Jeff Bays: Yeah, that was that was the goal.
Rick James: Oh.
Jeff Bays: a lot of the When I talked to a lot of the fleet guys, that was the one hesitation they had was, I don't want to dedicate a truck. I want to have the the reliability of being able to hook up to both.
Jeff Bays: I listened. We listened at Arctic. We came up with a killer harness with a nice 3D printed case and a UTV style LED lit toggle switch.
Jeff Bays: it's super nice fit and finish wise it'll look good in a truck um you guys know me i i like the stuff that looks good i wouldn't expect somebody to put it in their truck if i wouldn't put it in mine
Rick James: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Absolutely.
Rick James: oh yeah
The SnowJobs Podcast: Absolutely.
Rick James: right
The SnowJobs Podcast: I agree completely.
Rick James: Imagine. You imagine all the FOMO those guys had last year.
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
Rick James: They couldn't get the plow because there's no hitch for it. I am.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh yeah.
Jeff Bays: Yeah, I mean, I... there there's a lot of that going on up there right now i mean like there's a guy up in um like northeastern New York. JNR.
Jeff Bays: property services or something he brought he bought two razorbacks last year he just bought three more and we're doing them all the same all with the 82k harness
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
Jeff Bays: um So he he's a he was a Western guy before. So he can he has five Western plows sitting there, and he has five. Uh... Razorbacks, he can hook either truck to either plow.
Jeff Bays: Does not matter.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Love it.
Rick James: Awesome.
Jeff Bays: So.
Rick James: That's great.
The SnowJobs Podcast: That's the dream. That's a, you know, you always have a backup and it's not a big deal to switch over. God forbid something goes wrong or, you know, you tweak something. Sweet.
Jeff Bays: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: That's awesome, man. Yeah, I think the Northeast is going to be. ah At least for my area, it's looking like we'll be a little bit more back to normal where we're not working every two days for two straight months. That that was completely abnormal.
The SnowJobs Podcast: It sounds like this year we're going to be a lot of bigger dumps and back to you know what we normally do, the 10 to 12 pushes for the... for the winter and probably a bunch of nor 'easters in there, which.
Jeff Bays: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: It was absolutely phenomenal pushing these little one to two inches that the Midwest usually gets that we got a lot of last year, but where it really shined and where it really made you money. was being able to bulk.
The SnowJobs Podcast: ridiculous amounts of snow at 25 miles an hour or whatever you plow at. You know, I said it numerous times. I'll say it again. It turns your... In my case, my 3 ,500.
The SnowJobs Podcast: It turned my 3 ,500 into a much faster 321 case with a 13 LD on it, basically.
Jeff Bays: twenty how doing what he's gonna can we mind and how much
The SnowJobs Podcast: It allowed you to bulk that much snow.
Rick James: oh yeah
The SnowJobs Podcast: because of that Arctic role. You weren't losing. tremendous amounts of snow. Even when you were just bulking, you weren't losing tremendous amounts of snow off the sides. You were still rolling it forward. Way out in front.
Jeff Bays: Yeah, I had several guys that had leased. 321s and skid steers through the winter and had put a razor back on one truck. And they're putting Razorbacks on trucks and not leasing skid steers.
Jeff Bays: You can't beat a 321 with a pusher, right? Like, you just can't.
The SnowJobs Podcast: No.
Rick James: right
Jeff Bays: But a skid steer with a smaller pusher. a truck with a razor back on it can be as efficient if not more
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh yeah. I w I will absolutely put.
Rick James: oh yeah
The SnowJobs Podcast: put my pickup with that Razorback up against my 321 with the 13 LD and just the speed. of being able to, you know, throw it in reverse, boom, we're back at 15 miles an hour.
The SnowJobs Podcast: You know, if you've got nothing but wide open space. you can you can double up what you're doing with ah a compact loader. Absolutely. Just the ground speed alone.
Jeff Bays: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: And then forget it if that if that loader's on a route. You know, from site to site, you can't beat that. and you can't beat the comfort of your own truck. You know, that's your command center.
Rick James: Oh. 100%.
The SnowJobs Podcast: you You have plenty of room. You got, you know, you got anything you want in there. You got a bunch of, you got a cooler, you got all your waters, you got whatever you need, your laptop. Whatever you need is still in that truck.
Jeff Bays: Peace out.
The SnowJobs Podcast: So I really liked, and I'm a loader guy. I'm a loader. and I'm a machine guy. I didn't get out of my truck one time last winter.
Rick James: I hate pushing in a...
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
Rick James: without I love pushing a loader and I hate pushing in a pickup, but once you put a Razorback on a pickup, and then you're like, oh, this ain't so bad anymore, you know?
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah, I kept...
Rick James: We've said that 100 times. but
The SnowJobs Podcast: I kept lying to the guys telling them, Hey, listen, I'm going to put you in the truck next storm. Just never happened. I just, I'm not going back.
Rick James: ah
The SnowJobs Podcast: Like I'm not, I'm not getting out of the truck.
Rick James: Get their hopes up.
The SnowJobs Podcast: but
Jeff Bays: Yeah, we talk we talk about, you know, that's one of the things, you know, one of the big...
The SnowJobs Podcast: ah
Jeff Bays: The pushbacks I get from customers when I talk to them is just the cost, right?
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm hmm.
Jeff Bays: Most dealers are selling Razorbacks for $16, $16, $5, right?
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm -hmm.
Jeff Bays: And, you know, they can get a wide out. for anywhere from 12 to 14, depending on the region.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep.
Jeff Bays: And it's like, you know, how do I justify that extra $3 ,500 to $4 ,000? I'm like, well, and honestly, you're going to be 40 % faster than a truck with a comparable plow on it.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Easily.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep.
Jeff Bays: And if you get a big event. you're going to be that much faster. You can either add more work or pay less hours.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm hmm.
Jeff Bays: Right. So.
Rick James: ye
Jeff Bays: You're going to salt 50 % less.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep.
Jeff Bays: So in reality you're paying for that price difference in two events Max.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Literally. literally the month of december we worked a lot last december with a lot of small events The the um the. The amount of time saved. in cleaning up.
The SnowJobs Podcast: one to two inches with that plow. I figured out in December.
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: It. Saved me. that five grand.
Jeff Bays: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: it It just an efficiency that you were able to make up. I was doing. When we were filming. we were we were We had one lot that we were doing that we were filming. ah To get footage for Arctic on it. And I remember that's a lot that normally gets done by two trucks with nine, six Western MVP threes. And it normally takes them 45 minutes together.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I was almost done In 35 minutes with. Just the Razorback.
Jeff Bays: I remember you telling me that story last winter.
The SnowJobs Podcast: And the guys, the guys pulled in, the lot was done.
Rick James: yeah
The SnowJobs Podcast: I'm like. I told her, hey, meet me out there. I'm i'm going out to ah all angels. you know, meet me out there. And they they were on their route. So, they yeah, we'll be about 20 minutes. They pulled in half an hour in and I was almost done.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I had maybe four passes left and the whole thing was done, cut in, everything was done. and ah It was beautiful. I love the thing. And so anybody asking, it you know, oh, it's it's too expensive or or, you know, how do I justify that extra four to five grand?
The SnowJobs Podcast: One winter. One winter, your efficiency increase will justify it. Forget about the salt savings, just your speed. alone. I'm not even talking about the salt, which you will save, obviously, being with an Arctic with that scrape.
Rick James: already scraped yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: But ah yeah, just your efficiency increase, your speed. ah definitely will pay for itself. If you have a busy winter, maybe even in a month like I saw last year, but definitely within one winter, you've made up that money.
Jeff Bays: And I always one of my sayings for a long time has been. How much is your time worth?
The SnowJobs Podcast: Absolutely. A hundred percent.
Jeff Bays: You know, like.
The SnowJobs Podcast: And my guys are not.
Rick James: Time is money.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah, and my guys are not – we're not these guys that want to be out for – you know, 35 hours to complete all our properties. You know, they're a little spoil where we keep everything nice and tight in our normal run.
The SnowJobs Podcast: For any storm, our normal run is we're done and home in 8 to 10 hours, tops.
Jeff Bays: and so
The SnowJobs Podcast: So they don't want to be out for longer. If they can cut that eight to 10 down to six, they're happy. So they're good they're good to go.
Jeff Bays: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: But so.
Jeff Bays: Let's get a couple guys get a few more Razorbacks there. We'll help them out.
The SnowJobs Podcast: yeah they definitely want them that's for sure they definitely want them You'll cause some fights, though, of who's going to get it and who's not.
Rick James: Yeah. yeah Haha.
Jeff Bays: you Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: i I still need guys to get in the machines.
Jeff Bays: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: That's the other problem. You know, you got trucks with Razorbacks there. You're never going to get anybody in the skids. So 20th anniversary of Arctic this year.
Jeff Bays: Yeah, yeah, 20 years this year. of build of building the sectional equipment and uh you know i'm sure everybody's seen it floating around but there's uh there was a limited run of some black with custom what i like to call bng's bold new graphics
The SnowJobs Podcast: of the sectional.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm hmm.
Rick James: you know
Jeff Bays: Um...
Rick James: Those are sweet.
Jeff Bays: So there was 50 Razorbacks built, and then I think 100 pushers built. So um all of the black Razorbacks are out at dealers now and available.
Jeff Bays: I know that they're starting to dwindle down. um But yeah, if you've seen one and you want one and you don't have your name on one, I'd start calling because I'll bet you there's probably less than 10 or 12 of those things available left in the market.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh, I bet. Those are sharp. black Black only makes a perfect plow more perfect. Yeah.
Rick James: Ha ha.
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: but
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: And.
Jeff Bays: it It looks really good, and especially the guys that bought, you know, guys that are buying brand new black pickups, want to put a black plow on it, right? So it's been...
The SnowJobs Podcast: This guy.
Jeff Bays: It's been pretty, it's been pretty hot.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yup.
Jeff Bays: now
The SnowJobs Podcast: yep Oh man. So. what what did you what What was the most common things you heard for year one with all of us out there with the ah the full kit? What was the most common feedback you heard?
Jeff Bays: um I mean, outside of Outside of the, you know, the few negatives that we that we've talked about, like some maintenance issues, you know, like we've talked about, it's the efficiency of it. um the friendliness of the plow like when you're plowing in the truck how how your body feels at the end of a night right like We all know what plowing with a...
Jeff Bays: with a snow dog or a or a boss or something that has a true big trip mechanism
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm -hmm.
Jeff Bays: you know, what what your body feels like and how many head how many times your head hits the roof, right?
Rick James: mm -hmm
Jeff Bays: Um, ah The biggest one was that really goes untalked about a lot is.
Rick James: Yep.
Jeff Bays: You don't feel it when you hit something.
The SnowJobs Podcast: No you don't. That's...
Jeff Bays: Like, you you could literally obliterate a manhole cover, and it looks like the plow's gonna come off the front of the truck, but... You didn't spill your coffee.
The SnowJobs Podcast: No, you don't.
Rick James: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: And I'm laughing because I did manage to. The problem is you don't feel it when you hit something.
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: And after 30 hours in the truck, I may have gone into a snow pile. at the end of a run and fallen asleep because i never I never felt the thing hit the snow pile.
Rick James: Falling asleep? Yeah.
Jeff Bays: susan yeah
The SnowJobs Podcast: So you know you wake up six or seven minutes later. with the truck still in gear and the the plow in the bank and you're like, Oh shit. All right. So that is, that is a ah downside when you're tired, you will not feel it.
The SnowJobs Podcast: If you use things to wake yourself up, you will not feel it with this.
Jeff Bays: yeah
Rick James: Oh boy.
Jeff Bays: Yeah. um You know, i heard a lot I heard a lot of, you know, hey, I didn't have to replace ball joints this winter.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Too funny.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mmm.
Jeff Bays: um I heard a lot of... you know The plow still goes on and off the truck with the hydraulics like it should. i Nothing's bent. Nothing's out of place. Um,
Jeff Bays: So yeah you know it was a ton of positives on usability and a ton of positives on you know overall on the product. Did not see a ton. of of failures in the field.
Jeff Bays: um You know, a couple of ah a couple of bent wings.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
Jeff Bays: uh one ripped off wing. But. I still don't know of one poly block that broke in the field.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Nope.
Rick James: well
The SnowJobs Podcast: I didn't break one.
Jeff Bays: um
The SnowJobs Podcast: And I tried.
Jeff Bays: We broke one at Equip last year.
Rick James: yeah
Jeff Bays: when When Blake was out there for four days going over the curb, they broke one on day four.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm hmm.
Jeff Bays: But that's still the only one that I know of. um that I've seen broken.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah, no, I tried. I tried. I went as high as I could. i i banged it off or whatever I could. And I couldn't break one. And the only thing I did, I said that on and on another episode about it. um i I was able to, I think, tweak a wing cylinder because when I was.
Jeff Bays: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I'm... I try and I probably shouldn't have done this, but I try and scrape the top of the curb. with the plow backing up. And I just, there was a gap just wide enough in the concrete, in the curb that the wing was able to sit down right where I dropped it.
Jeff Bays: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: And like, I couldn't have done it again. If I tried, I put it in there and I started to back up and I'm like, Oh, wait a minute. I'm not moving. like shit so i think i tweaked it a little bit but we'll see when we get it on for this year
Jeff Bays: what we found actually it's funny you bring that up because i had a customer in northern ontario that that did a ton of back dragging and he would back drag with the wing out at the full 45 and he was back dragging against a snow bank and you know northern northern on northern ontario you know it's you're back dragging against concrete right so what it was doing is it was over flexing the cylinder
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh, yeah, you can't do that. Oh yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm hmm.
Jeff Bays: in the opposite direction it's supposed to go and he was bending a cylinder i'm like well bro like i'm sorry but you found a limitation Like it's...
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
Rick James: ah
Jeff Bays: you know it
Rick James: Yeah.
Jeff Bays: It is what it is, but you you are the first one to find it.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep.
Jeff Bays: So. to To everybody listening, that is a limitation if you're backdragging with the wings fully forward. Try not to hit something.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
Jeff Bays: Because.
Rick James: Yep.
Jeff Bays: anna
The SnowJobs Podcast: Uh... So speaking of that. Uh... Now we've all had them for a year. Have you found anything as far as... um any Any tips, tricks, or any musts that we didn't know of before as far as maintenance, basic maintenance and stuff, proper maintaining of the plow?
Jeff Bays: Yeah, I think you know the the main points are something that we didn't do last year that all the new plows will have this year is we our hydraulic fluid was clear.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
Rick James: Yep.
Jeff Bays: um So the hydraulic fluid coming in the plows this year, it has a red dye in it.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
Jeff Bays: um so that if you do have a leak it's easy to see i mean i can't tell you how many calls i had where guys like hey my plow is dead it doesn't work i'm like yeah you got a leak dude like You just you have one.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Sure.
Rick James: Yeah.
Jeff Bays: and he's like i don't see anything i don't see anything and i said well open it up and look he said well i don't see any fluid and then they get down there start investigating and sure shit there's a you know there's clear hydraulic fluid everywhere so um you know something that I always like to say is, hey,
Jeff Bays: to always check your your hydraulic fluid level because even if you have a little tiny leak um Eh. it it will turn into a bigger one. so always always always after every event Put a couple of wrenches on your hydraulic fittings. Just make sure they're snug.
Jeff Bays: um Always check your wing hardware. um We had some wing hardware come loose um on the long. on the plows that had the most um time put on them um because what happens is and believe it or not guys that have 200 plus hours on their razorbacks the feedback is is that the plow actually gets better
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm -hmm
Jeff Bays: because the components start to loosen up. the sections and the wings start to move a little bit better and the plows actually start to function better but if the hardware loosens up you could start to see you know some you know like the the wing pins starting to back out because you lose the nut on the bottom stuff like that so just make sure that your hardware on your wings is tight
Rick James: huh
Jeff Bays: Um... I mean, outside of those things. It's basic make keep an eye on your cutting edge Heights because you don't want to wear into your cutting edge mechanisms um And.
Jeff Bays: I mean... that Outside of that make sure it's greased.
Rick James: yeah
The SnowJobs Podcast: What are you, recommend you guys still recommending eight hours?
Jeff Bays: So.
Jeff Bays: On what?
The SnowJobs Podcast: On the grease.
Jeff Bays: Yeah, I think if you if you're, you know... I mean, let's be real, right? like if you're gonna get a if you're gonna take a grease gun yeah if you're gonna take a grease gun with you and you're watching the clock sure eight hours but
The SnowJobs Podcast: Once so after an event. Yeah.
Rick James: After event.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I ain't doing that shit.
Rick James: ah
Jeff Bays: after After the event, when you're checking your HOTAS fittings, when you're checking your wing hardware. Throw your grease gun on it.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
Jeff Bays: I mean, that's, that's the bear.
Rick James: yeah was
Jeff Bays: That's the the bare minimum, right?
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah. If you put a beating on it, then thank it by greasing it after that event.
Rick James: right
Jeff Bays: Correct. you know if you're If you're doing those three things,
The SnowJobs Podcast: I like it.
Jeff Bays: you're going to be successful with the plow.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Got it. love it yeah i mean it was great it was it was definitely great um have you found Have you found it's easier to, to well, I mean.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I I'm trying to remember. It's been a while now since the plow was on the truck. It was tough to reach a couple of the grease points with the plow on. But. Do you recommend a certain process for greasing it? Like with the plow off the, off the vehicle wings out, you know, anything, anything you guys have found that allows you to do it all in one shot. Cause I, I couldn't get into, I think there were a couple of fittings I couldn't reach when the truck, when the plow was on the truck, I had to drop the head gear a little bit or so. I can't remember. There was something though.
The SnowJobs Podcast: But is there a process?
Jeff Bays: So... The... The Zerk. At the... at the back near the truck on the lift cylinder.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yes.
Jeff Bays: what What I like to do is I start with that one. So I'll put the, I'll put the plow, I leave the plow on the truck.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm hmm.
Jeff Bays: I'll put the plow on the ground. I'll put it in hitching mode. I'll drop the headgear down and I'll hit the back zerk.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Got it. Hit that one.
Jeff Bays: Then I'll remount the plow. I'll do the front zerk. And then I'll. I'll do the. um The... The wing pivots and the the pivots on the trip angle.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Mm -hmm.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep.
Jeff Bays: And then I wing out and I'll do the front and back on the on the wing cylinders.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Got it. Sounds good.
Jeff Bays: That's kind of the process that I follow because it gives you the best access to the Zerks.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep. yep That makes sense. That definitely makes sense. I think, I mean, it was it was phenomenal. I couldn't say enough about it. I... I can't wait to use it again. The one thing I will definitely tell guys out there. If you do not have a spreader.
The SnowJobs Podcast: If you're not running with with counterweight, the counterweight kit is phenomenal.
Rick James: Yeah. Connor, wait.
The SnowJobs Podcast: ah It's a game changer.
Jeff Bays: it It is. Absolutely essential to the Razorback. to make sure that the truck sits level with the plow on the ground.
Jeff Bays: the The thing that makes Arctic so good and the cut so good is the proper attack angle.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep. 100%.
Jeff Bays: by By having the truck sitting level and the plow sitting at the right angle, it will make your plowing life night and day different.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Absolutely.
Jeff Bays: No.
The SnowJobs Podcast: And what it will also do for you after 30 hours in the truck, if you're backing up and you hit something, the counterweight gets it, not your back bumper.
Rick James: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: And that thing is substantial.
Jeff Bays: Correct.
Rick James: yeah
The SnowJobs Podcast: So you're not bending the counterweight. you You're the truck if you've hurt that counterweight system.
Jeff Bays: Yeah, and i even I'm having guys start to buy it even with Sanders in the back of their truck, and they're just running half the weight or a quarter of the weight. just so they can get the weight back to the behind the rear axles at the at the lowest point possible um to make sure that they can get the right the right pitch of the plow, right?
The SnowJobs Podcast: Where it needs to be.
Rick James: far enough where it needs to be.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep. 100%.
Rick James: Nice.
The SnowJobs Podcast: just driving around, forget the actual plowing. Like I know it's necessary to have the truck level with the plow down for the proper attack angle, all that stuff, but just driving around with the plow on the truck in the winter.
Jeff Bays: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Put it on and then. Don't have it on. and see the difference in the ride.
Jeff Bays: correct
The SnowJobs Podcast: It's in it's night and day. I can't emphasize that enough.
Jeff Bays: I mean, I leave mine on year -round.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Like it.
Jeff Bays: Like, mine's on my truck right now.
The SnowJobs Podcast: yeah
Jeff Bays: And i just air my I just air my bags up. It... Like, i I never take it off.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I just took mine off like a month ago.
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: with Just sheer laziness, but the plows been off since March, but the, uh, the counterweight kit didn't come off until July or August.
Jeff Bays: Be.
Jeff Bays: Please be the guy in the Toyota Corolla that rear ends me with the counterweight.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
Jeff Bays: album
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yes, exactly.
Rick James: Ha ha.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Absolutely. Aw. Oh man. So how is... um You know, you got these out there now. They're taking off. um How many dealers are out there?
Jeff Bays: Um... i actually counted today i was doing a count i think we're at like 28 dealers and and and growing right like that's the next the next real step of of this is dealer expansion you know we don't we don't sell direct we only go through dealers
The SnowJobs Podcast: Okay.
Jeff Bays: our Our real focus here is on the truck equipment houses. the guys who are actively putting on plows servicing plows knows what it takes to service a plow and has parts on hand, right?
Jeff Bays: you You can't be a plow guy that's selling snow plows and installing them if you can't service them. so
The SnowJobs Podcast: Amen.
Jeff Bays: so having having the dealer network full of of those type of customers for us is is paramount moving forward. And so so that is that is the focus.
Jeff Bays: um really for the next you know through the winter time is continuing to add dealers as we go so that when we come around to pre -season next year in february march and april that we're we're really gearing up to take year three
Jeff Bays: on by storm because as we know i mean yeah we're gonna get we'll get more sales this winter we'll sell more plows but being set up for the start of year three when this thing really should take off as these plows see year one, year two in the field.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh yeah.
Jeff Bays: um That's when I think the the big value proposition knowledge is going to hit. the retail market, and we're really going to see a ah ah monster growth.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Absolutely. I think it's going to be the same way sidewalk machines were. Year one was like they invented the LT Rich first sidewalk machine ever. And everybody was like, $11 ,000 for a sidewalk machine.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Fuck that. We're going to have all these guys shoveling. I'm not paying 11 grand. By year two, it was like a bunch of guys had them. You saw how product you know how much more productive they were. And now you're like, crap, maybe I need to have one.
The SnowJobs Podcast: And by year three.
Rick James: ye
The SnowJobs Podcast: You either had a sidewalk machine or you weren't a real snow company. like it was like you know i think it's the same evolution for this I think his guys just see the productivity increase and the efficiency increase.
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
Rick James: yeah
Rick James: oh yeah
Jeff Bays: ah
The SnowJobs Podcast: the The price tag is they're going to say, like, if anything, this thing's underpriced for how much productivity you get out of it.
Jeff Bays: Yeah, and and a lot of guys, you know. we talk about price point and you know i'll speak a little bit to the dealers right now but it's like you can make i know what you're making on a boss in western i know what you're making on a snow dog i know what you're making on a snow x Come to me. I can make you more money.
The SnowJobs Podcast: There you go.
Jeff Bays: Like, like
Rick James: Yep.
Jeff Bays: we can you can we can be very profitable together and it is it can be you know i'm given we're given territories we're given some lucrative opportunities you know Give me a call.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep.
Jeff Bays: Let's talk.
The SnowJobs Podcast: i I mean, everybody that's had one. They're all saying the same thing. My only problem was I didn't have four.
Jeff Bays: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: You know, like one is not enough after you've used it.
Rick James: Yeah. yeah
The SnowJobs Podcast: Now, you like you said, you got guys coming back. Looking for. Three, four, and five more.
Jeff Bays: Yeah, I mean, I had a guy in Minnesota have four, and he just bought six more, so he'll be a fleet of 10. The only plow that will be in his fleet will be Arctic Razorback this year.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Wow, that's awesome
Jeff Bays: Um,
Rick James: Yeah.
Jeff Bays: i had the guy just the jnr they're up to five now Um... Yeah, I mean, there are some guys that are really, really buying into what it offers.
Rick James: all right
Jeff Bays: And if they were plowing with 13 trucks with competitors plowed, now they're plowing with 10 of ours, right?
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh, eat.
Jeff Bays: and
Rick James: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: point.
Jeff Bays: it's It's a bummer for the... three guys that have to shovel or be in a machine or whatever now but it's it's it's good for arctic it's good for me
Rick James: Ha ha.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Amen. Amen.
Rick James: Once you have that plow, it's all i mean it's all you want on your pickup. there's you know it's it's just it's just so efficient and everybody loves how they how they work and The scrape is, you know, it's an Arctic scrape.
Rick James: like it's ah I mean, you always go back to that.
Jeff Bays: I mean...
Rick James: it's good
The SnowJobs Podcast: Well... I mean, I could go back, but I know myself, I would be the biggest bitch about going back to a regular plow after having that last year.
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: I'd be complaining, whining, crying. I'd be so hard to fucking live with during a storm if I had to go back and not have a racer back on the truck.
Jeff Bays: Yeah, I mean, I talk about those guys, but Jeremy, you what, five now? You got five up there, right?
Rick James: ah No. One yeah, we got Four.
Jeff Bays: Well, you and the...
Rick James: We got four. We got four, yeah.
Jeff Bays: Is that? Does that include the it fucks guy?
Rick James: Oh, yeah, that's Andy. Yeah, that's my, that's my, that's my paw actually on his truck, so.
Jeff Bays: Yeah. yeah yes
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah.
Jeff Bays: Yes.
The SnowJobs Podcast: uh andy broughton silver bullet
Jeff Bays: shit
Rick James: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it fucks yep the bullet and he couldn't break it so and
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yep. no if he can't break it it can't be broken
Rick James: And he would... He was... It was like a... I guess. thanksgiving he's like sending me and lucas all these texts if he's like breaking all this heart back up on on his little town he lives in on the road it's like he's like just doing 30 miles an hour just chunks of ice coming over his pickup season The down pressure is just...
Rick James: peeling it all off. He's like, this thing Fox is what he says.
The SnowJobs Podcast: That was it. Us. what did ah What did I say? if if i get ah How happy are you with this?
Rick James: Oh yeah. Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Lucas calling me at three in the morning in that one big storm. He's like, dude, how's it doing? I'm like, Lucas, if I could have sex with this plow, I would.
Jeff Bays: Yeah. m
The SnowJobs Podcast: It's that good. ah ah It's that good.
Rick James: It's...
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
Rick James: Uh...
The SnowJobs Podcast: I'm not happy with it.
Rick James: That's going on that shirt that's going on the next Arctic shirt
Jeff Bays: You know, you
The SnowJobs Podcast: Well... Yes.
Jeff Bays: you talked You talked about it and earlier, right? Like I'm on the West Coast, right? So in the East Coast, like last winter was a big winter for the East Coast, right?
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh yeah.
Jeff Bays: And I was getting calls that, you know, I would go to bed at eight o 'clock and I'd get up at midnight, right? And I'd call you, I'd be like, hey, how's it going? But I can't tell you how many guys called me between like 1 .30 and three in the morning and like, hey, I didn't think you'd answer.
Jeff Bays: I just wanted to say this thing's badass. I'm like, dude, you can call me whenever to tell me it's badass.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yeah. you always answer the phone dude i don't know how you do it but man you always answer the phone
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
Rick James: that's awesome
The SnowJobs Podcast: That's crazy. Oh.
Jeff Bays: that that'll And that'll never change, right? I mean, that's that's something you get with Arctic too, right? is that this the I will...
The SnowJobs Podcast: 100%.
Rick James: Customer service, yep.
Jeff Bays: I will. if i don't answer i will call you back as soon as i hang up and it it can be it can be 130 it can be four it can be
The SnowJobs Podcast: Absolutely.
Jeff Bays: AM, PM, it doesn't matter. You know, I... This is a product line that I got the opportunity to launch. And it's I see it as just as much my business and my career as as it is Arctic's.
Jeff Bays: And and I'm going to continue to treat it that way. So, you know.
Rick James: That's awesome.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Amen. And that actually happened.
Jeff Bays: That's...
The SnowJobs Podcast: I think I dialed you at 5 a .m. just to tell you how great it was doing.
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: And I'm like, oh, shit, he's on the West Coast.
Jeff Bays: Hmm.
The SnowJobs Podcast: It's like one in the morning there. And two minutes later, phone rings.
Jeff Bays: And I was up. yeah
The SnowJobs Podcast: I'm like, dude, I'm so sorry. No, don't even worry about it.
Jeff Bays: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Didn't even sound like you were sleeping.
Rick James: Yeah.
Jeff Bays: Even the guys that had hos ho you know hose fitting issue after hose fitting issue, I get a call at 1, get a call at 1 .30, get a call at 3. I'm like, dude, just go to O 'Reilly's and buy some snow dog fuel and or some snow dog.
Jeff Bays: fluid and throw it in there. It'll get you through the night.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yup.
Jeff Bays: I'm like, just get some brake cleaner. Make sure you clean the fitting off. you know Use two wrenches, please. Please, people, don't use one wrench. Use two.
The SnowJobs Podcast: ah That's so funny.
Jeff Bays: Get yourself two wrenches, put them in your truck.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Yes.
Jeff Bays: It will, you'll thank me later, but yeah, I mean, it's.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Absolutely.
Rick James: Yep.
Jeff Bays: It's, you know, we we we pride ourselves on being number one in the industry in service, and that won't change.
Rick James: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Nope. It never does, it never does Well, what else you got here, Jeff? Did we cover everything you wanted to cover or you got something else for us?
Jeff Bays: No, man, i think I think we covered everything. and you know got it
The SnowJobs Podcast: I think we crushed it.
Jeff Bays: I'm looking. Yeah, I'm looking forward to andm looking forward a year two winter. And hopefully, I mean, you know, there's been a lot of speculation on what the winter is going to look like. there's been You know, a lot of of teeter -tottering on what it's going to do. It's gonna snow.
Jeff Bays: don't Don't think it's not going to snow.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Supper!
Jeff Bays: It's going to snow. If you don't buy a Razorback, it's going to snow where you are. So give me a call.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Uh, it's definitely going to snow.
Rick James: yeah
The SnowJobs Podcast: Hopefully big dumps only that's, uh, I'm tired of last winter with that little Midwestern one to two all the time. Like, I don't know. I have a newfound respect for those guys though. going out 50 times for an inch.
Jeff Bays: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: like That's a tough way to get 55 inches you know on your average. 50 fucking pushes for one inch.
Jeff Bays: it's
The SnowJobs Podcast: Like, Holy crap. That would, it wore you down.
Jeff Bays: Yeah.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Like my guys aren't used to that. And. it got It got tough going into the... ah you know I mean, December alone, I think we pushed like 13 times in the month of December. It was like every other day.
The SnowJobs Podcast: We're like, holy crap, we haven't had this in a while. go through a whole season's worth of average pushes in one month.
Jeff Bays: Yeah, and and
Jeff Bays: Yeah, and every time it was going to be big. You know, a lot of times, you know, half the times it tapers off and it's not big, but every time it was going to be big, it was big.
The SnowJobs Podcast: It was big. Yeah, we had ah we had a bunch of double digits last year. I mean, we did 80 inches, and it was like. Holy crap. like It pushed our average, our five -year average way up because the year before was over average too. So this year it'll be interesting. I mean, I think we'll still be between our 38 and 44 inches, but.
The SnowJobs Podcast: You don't know. I mean, one of these Nor 'easters goes 24 inches. and you know you get two Even if you just get two of those, you get a 12 and a 24, you're bound to be well over average again and maybe only five, six storms.
Jeff Bays: You're...
Jeff Bays: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: like Four years ago.
Jeff Bays: Yeah, and I told you guys last the the year that Minneapolis -St.
The SnowJobs Podcast: So...
Jeff Bays: Paul got 109 inches. that was That was a super El Nino year. so Don't let the don't don't let the the weather guys fool you because it's coming.
The SnowJobs Podcast: It's possible.
The SnowJobs Podcast: They don't know.
Jeff Bays: They don't.
The SnowJobs Podcast: if They don't know.
Jeff Bays: Boom.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh shit. All right. Jay, you got anything else for Jeff?
Rick James: No, I'm just trying to get this header. 40 foot header through a 40 foot. two foot door right now so i'm not
The SnowJobs Podcast: Oh, yeah, he's still combining. It looked like it was snowing for a while there out your back window.
Jeff Bays: yardburg on
Rick James: No, that's soybeans.
Jeff Bays: Soybeans.
The SnowJobs Podcast: yeah flying around.
Rick James: Sorry, yeah I didn't crash so we're good.
The SnowJobs Podcast: All right. well It's, uh...
Rick James: Hey.
The SnowJobs Podcast: it's definitely coming well
Jeff Bays: um
The SnowJobs Podcast: There you go. Well, thanks for the time, Jeff. We appreciate you, brother.
Jeff Bays: Peace.
Rick James: Thank you, Jeff
The SnowJobs Podcast: Definitely all you do, you ah you know you're you're killing it for us. and I mean, not just us, the the entire the entire Arctic user part of the industry. ah You do always answer the phone, you ah you know, and you you always come up with a fix for us if we ever need it. So thank you on behalf of everybody out there.
Jeff Bays: Yep, we'll keep it rolling, boys.
The SnowJobs Podcast: All right.
Rick James: Thanks so much
The SnowJobs Podcast: Well, thanks for the time. So we'll wrap it there for this episode of the Arctic Army Roll Call. Again, want to thank Jeff for coming on, giving us the time, giving us all the. The Arctic Razorback updates for 26, 27, and can't wait.
The SnowJobs Podcast: Don't wait, guys, if you're thinking about getting one. Get it on the truck now. Like Jeff said, it's going to snow somewhere. It's definitely coming.
Rick James: Yep.
The SnowJobs Podcast: So. ah Thank you very much to Arctic and everybody out there. Be safe. Have a great weekend. Keep pushing.
