Napoli's unbeaten starts the season is over. What a brilliant performance from Inter. Even better than their performance against Barcelona, right?
Speaker: Oh, absolutely. This was Inter's best performance under Simonin Zaghi, I'd say tactically. It was probably Simonin Zaghi's best game in the Serie A as a manager since his Lazio beat Sariz Juve. But Inter were perfect. They were defensively perfect. They found every weakness Napoli had, and they exposed those weaknesses. They hurt Napoli on the counter -attack.
Speaker: The finishing was poor and this game should have, if the result was to correctly reflect what happened on the pitch, this is a game into 1 -3 -4 -0, 3 -0 at least. But Inter were simply outstanding and they pulled off a great performance against probably the best team, the best attack in Italy and one of the best attacks in all of Europe.
Speaker: Speaking of great attacks, Rafael Liao takes Milan right back into the Scudetto race. Surely, Milan have to keep him now, no? They have to do everything. They have to find a way to get him to sign this new contract. There does seem to be more optimism now about Liao signing a new deal with Milan. He's got seven million a year offer now, so it's an improved offer. The issue remains, though, is that the money owed to sporting Lisbon, it's a lot of money.
Speaker: who pays it, and Liao wants the club that he signs his next contract with to pay that money. Milan obviously don't want to pay it, so they need to find a way to work that out, but Milan have to get him to stay, they have to. In this game against Saleni Turner, he was unplayable, and he showed it to the World Cup, even though he didn't play much, just how great he is. He is a top -class, potentially world -class player, and Milan have to keep him.
