The Importance of Scriptural Reminders

So I wanted to share this scripture really quick before we get into our message today. This is in 2 Peter. And he says, therefore, I will always remind you about these things, even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught.

It's so good sometimes to go over and not just say, I've heard this message before, but he said, hey, sometimes we need reminded of things. And so I just wanted to read that scripture because we have a teaching that we've done before that we wanted to pull out because it's good to be reminded of the things in the Word of God. always accomplish what God desires to see manifest in the life of ah the hearers, people who are listening to the message. Yeah, and you can read the same Scripture 50 different times. And the 50th time, two years later, God drops a revelation into your heart. So, we want to just pull this teaching up and just share it with you. We believe it's going to be a blessing to you.

They received the teaching. They received it with joy. And then they went and studied the Scriptures themselves to see if it was so. And I think it's so very important you do that. You go and study the Scriptures yourself because just because you've been taught something doesn't mean that it's true. Let me give you an example.
Misconceptions about the Wise Men

If you ask, I don't know what percentage, I'm going to guess a huge percentage, 90% of Christians. how many wise men came when Jesus was born and where they came. By the way, hold on. If you have known the answer, I want write in the comments somewhere. Just let us know. How many wise men? How many wise men came to see Jesus? And did they go to see Jesus when he was born in the stable? In the manger. Okay. That's a Christmas Bible test. It's a Christmas story. All right. So most people would be like they were through. I love, don't give them an answer. We need to, okay, all right. I'm trying to explain some of the point. But my point was that sometimes things we have learned, but we haven't learned it correctly. Or, you know, it doesn't mean that anybody had ill intentions, but maybe they didn't understand the Holy Spirit, so they mistaught it. Just like with, can we share the answer not? Yeah, yeah, no, no. All right. To explain why, you know, that's a good, you It's a good example. Yeah, it's a good example because if you study out the scriptures, you'll find the wise men did not go to the stable. They were in the manger, not in the manger. It was in his house. He was a small child when they came. Like a toddler. Yeah, like a toddler. And the amount of wealth, it was a huge caravan of wise men that came. The reason people think it's three because they brought gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Hey, you know what? And I discovered that the wise men are not born again people. But you know what? They are, they worship idols.

They are magicians, all of them. Devil worshipers. But, well, so here's the thing. Now, we don't know. I wonder how that how did it that happen,

you know? yeah That's another day talk. Okay. Now but yeah you've got me excited because I want to talk about this. Because it says they were from the east, right? Yeah, from the east. Now, this, you can't prove this out the Bible. However, yeah.

there's a good chance that the wise men from the east were from Babylon, right? Which is where Daniel was made head over all of the wise men. And it's very likely that he would have shared the scriptures with them about the future king. That's powerful. And they, even though I mean, we don't know exactly what their belief system was, but even though they were wise men, they were magicians, they were, you know, the group that Daniel was over, if he would have taught them the scriptures, that means they were expectantly looking and knew the sign of the Messiah while the Jewish Pharisees missed it. But you know, how did they know that that was the sign? What was what was it, what was it, what was it, what was it a fake sign? But that's what I'm saying. I think Daniel had educated them because, remember, Daniel was put in charge of all of the wise men in Babylon, which would have been the east.

And if he would have taught that, because you think about how well ah known and respected Daniel would have been, I'm sure that they would have kept track of what he had taught and the prophetic words he had shared and what he had shared from um the, you know,

so the Torah, our Bible now, those things. And they could have been watching for those signs of the King. yeah You know, this promised Messiah. It's possible now. Can't say for sure. But i think no i think that's a very likely... Because otherwise, how would have they known to watch for Him? You know, I think it's a very likely possibility. God god is awesome.
Trusting God's Plan and Self-Worth

No, I will beat magic in Jesus' name. But the point was that sometimes we have misconceptions that we've been taught that we accept as true. um that don't line up with the Bible. So just because it's different, you need to go and study the scripture for yourself.

You take the time, you dig into the scripture. You know, I wasn't i wasn't raised going to church and learning all of the stuff. And so that's what I did. I would ask the Holy Spirit. I would hear people teaching different doctrines and I would ask the Holy Spirit. And then I would go and study the scriptures for myself.

and come to my own conclusion because I read the Word of God and I saw what it said. And I'll tell you, some of the some of the doctrines I've heard out there, I studied out, and they just didn't pan out in Scripture.

um But people take them because someone will pull one Scripture out of context and use that to build a doctrine around. And people just listen and receive it without studying it out themselves.

Misconceptions About the Wise Men's Gifts

but you study for yourself. Look at the Scriptures. I just want you to, somebody to give us an answer and let us know. Is it three wise men or is it 200 wise men? You know, I know um you know i know the answer. and And one of the reasons why the King Herod was angry, he was mad because he thought.

they are why They came to dethrone him out of his ah out of out of power. And praise God. So for the answer is that there was no three wise men. The Bible never mentioned about three wise men. They traveled as a caravan. That's the answer. But they brought three gifts.

Or it is something for the future. What exactly is going on? Let's go back to the scriptures and and and to discover. We're going to dive into this subject and to see exactly what God is telling us. And also, you have a responsibility to do your own homework. You study this for yourself because knowledge is very powerful.

God knowledge, your life, the way your your lifestyle or how you carry yourself or what you do daily is based on the knowledge that you have received since you were born until now. Sometimes the environment that you came out of will affect or will fabricate or will give you a certain knowledge.

The Role of the Holy Spirit in Creation

So, folks, it's time for us to put aside our pride and go back to the scriptures and see what exactly God is telling us. So the Holy Spirit is real. That's what I can tell you.

Understanding the Holy Spirit's Identity

So what what are we are trying to tell you is that the Holy Spirit is the creator.
