Worst Team in Serie A

00:00:02
Speaker
Welcome to the Italian Football Podcast. Okay, let's let's move on to then to the worst of Serie A so far this season. We'll start off with the worst team of the season. We'll follow the same format as we did for the best team of the season. um Just want to point out that we are picking more high-profile flops rather than just simply picking the worst team of the season. Because if we did that, we'd just have a bunch of players that you probably haven't heard of from Venezia, Lecce and Callery and that would be boring. so we We're going to go for we're go to be a little bit mean and pick on the on the on the big players a little bit.

Goalkeeper Critiques

00:00:37
Speaker
Having said yeah exactly because i think it's unfair to go after the venezias and mona jeremy like it's just now having said that though, but i had to pick my worst goalkeeper I could not find a ah goalkeeper from one of the bigger teams.
00:00:48
Speaker
so i've I've been forced to go for the one from the smaller teams and I've gone for Venezio Golgi with Jesse Jolyonan because he's the only one that really stood out has been absolutely awful this season he got dropped after seven games after so many errors it was like ah it was he so bad so so bad and he's been replaced by Stankovic and now so Jorunnen is my goalkeeper. but I couldn't find

Impulsive Behavior in Players

00:01:12
Speaker
anyone else. I don't know if you have. I have. Zion Suzuki is... I just don't think he's... Like, what the hell? He does things that has me going, what the hell? ah Many times when I watch Parma. and But yeah, yes, Jorunnen is definitely a good shot. But yeah, probably the one that should be. But it's just I've watched Parma games and and this guy is...
00:01:37
Speaker
I'm watching going, what is wrong with you? why Why did you do that? Why would you do that? Like, what are you thinking? He's the goalkeeper that has me saying that the most this season. Yeah, he can be a little bit impulsive. a Clown gene, we call it. But also the same time. The clown goalkeeper gene.
00:01:54
Speaker
At the same time, I feel sorry for whoever is the goalkeeper for that parliament.

Defensive Errors in AC Milan

00:02:00
Speaker
It's like you're just abandoned. like moses You literally are abandoned. You're like Robinson Crusoe on a show on ah on an island. but He just doesn't believe in defending. Their defence is the nim and nim. If you know, you know which one I'm talking about. and well then Right. Let's do the defence then. So I've gone for a bat four again.
00:02:23
Speaker
And I have two Milan players in this team, could have picked probably the whole, probably could have picked four Milan defenders. But I've gone for Ficaya Tamori, because I think that he's he's had a terrible season, lots of mistakes, lost his place in the first team.
00:02:41
Speaker
bad attitude off the pitch with that Pulisic incident where he ripped the ball off Pulisic and gave it to his mate, his che old Chelsea mate Tammy Abraham, which then he then missed. I thought that was awful. um I think this could be his last season at Milan, potentially. So Tamoori. And I've also gone for Theo Hernandez because he has very high standards and he's had a really a bad season on and even what and an even worse season off the pitch, things we can't actually talk about. And he lost his place to Alex Jimenez. And I think for both his on-field performance and the stuff that's going on about going on off the pitch,

Disappointing Defenders in Serie A

00:03:16
Speaker
as as well as his contract running out in 2026 and the financial um ah costs of that, if they are going to renew, I think there's a very, very good chance he's going to leave in 2025. So, um yeah, not been good for Taylor Hernandez.
00:03:31
Speaker
um And then my other ones are Ben Godfrey from Axolanta. and He was so signed for like 15, 18 million or something. He's only got two sub appearances, 49 minutes of football, and he will be almost certainly sold or offloaded in January. And then Spin It Solar, who was a free transfer, he wasn't that costly, and but he's, yeah, I mean, it's sad because he was the best player in his position at Euro 2024, maybe the best in in Europe at that time. I mean, what a player. And then... Euro 2020. Sorry, Euro 2020, yeah. since Since that injury, he's just, yeah, he has been a shadow of himself, fortunately.
00:04:05
Speaker
He's only got three starts, 265 minutes of football. He will be 100% sold and and or or or even released in January so Napoli can bring in ah another another backup to Oliveira. So yeah, those are my back four. I've got ah my back five. I've got Spilazzola and Madzoki on the wings. You can put them right and left how you want because Madzoki I thought was going to I think Konta was going to be able to get the most out of him and instead he changed the formation because of him because he couldn't trust him playing in the white. um and And that is very, very disappointing. um And yeah, I'm i'm really disappointed with him there. I think Godfrey for all the reasons you said and Tomori as well, they've really, really been disappointing.

Midfield Woes and Transfer Talks

00:04:50
Speaker
Pavlovic has been a big disappointment as well. Yeah, he has. He really has. um But yeah, I mean, ah
00:04:59
Speaker
I need another central defender. um And I think Matsumel is coming into his own now, but the beginning of that tenure it was it was an absolute joke.
00:05:15
Speaker
like the way how all the clown things that happened in that defense now some of it is of course his fault uh but some of it is of course it's not his fault it's because roma were just a mess but he has done really well recently um so i can't really pick him um but yeah i mean it's it's it's difficult because i ah it's like i yeah because at the same time we did say we didn't want to pick any ah you know, the small, small clubs as well, but because of otherwise it'd be players we haven't heard of. ah But I do, I don't know, it's a difficult one because I don't want to just pick Milan players because I don't be accused of having Anthony Milan buyers, which is hilarious. it But generally you pick the players from teams that are struggling, so big teams that are struggling, most are Milan Juventus, so you're going to generally pick on them. Yeah, that's fair enough. I think um
00:06:08
Speaker
Yeah, I'd probably go with ah with, what's his name? Pavlovic, Tomori, Godfrey, Spinazzola, and Mazzocchi. Yeah. Fair enough. Okay. um Midfield. Midfield. So, well, we both have a midfield three. um I've got another Milan player, Ruben Loftus-Cheek. I think he had a promising first season, last season, but he's really lost his way this season. He's he's lost his starting place.
00:06:37
Speaker
no goals in Serie A or the Champions League, no assists either in Serie A or the Champions League, just one assist in all competitions and corporateri tell in the Coppertalia, no goals at all this season. and Yeah, he's really lost his way and yeah, probably clearly it's not working with Fonseca, maybe Fonseca's replaced, he can fund this find his feet again, but yeah, it's a shame because he he was really, really good You know what?

High Expectations, Poor Contributions

00:07:05
Speaker
I just want to make a change. um I don't want Pavlovic there. I'm putting Rafael Varan there because that was an absolutely unmitigated disaster. So Godfreetomori Varan, Spinazola Madzoki. Sorry. Good shout on Varan. Yeah. Good shout. Well, they didn't really cost him anything. Yeah, but it wasn't that like that. he he He hung up his boots. like um Jesus. Like, come on. they that that was That was not a good deal. that was that was like That's on par with
00:07:31
Speaker
village when he came to in Inter and was completely finished in the speaker word of Italian and Mazzari was there who barely speaks Italian let alone English and grunts at people um Like a caveman. So no, it's it's it's uh, no, no those three. Sorry. Yeah Yeah, no, I think Varan's a very good shot. So yeah, Midfield, Ruben Loftus-Cheek have already said, and then I've got two Juventus players. and The Midfield was supposed to be Juventus' strong point in the season. It's where they made huge investments. And I mean, there's one that stands out above everyone else. Of course, that's Douglas Luis. 50 million, he was supposed to be, you know, along with Coupe miners, like the big, you know,
00:08:09
Speaker
play the player that will take you into the next level. Yeah, Markey 50 million and he's been a disaster. he's He's given away two penalties. He can't get really can't get in the start in 11. He's had injuries. He's got injured again now.
00:08:24
Speaker
And he's, yeah, he's just, he's just been just a really, really big disappointment. Um, and then I've got Nickolo Fagioli as well. He had one brilliant game against Leipzig where he looked like prime Javi. Other than that, he's looked like prime. I don't know. You fill in the blank. He's had a terrible season. Um, Motta seems to have lost faith in him and Juventus are are open to selling as early as January because we know they need to make a sacrifice to bring in some money to strengthen the defence, to strengthen their attack, to strengthen the team squad full stop, especially with the injuries, um to Cabal and to Bremer.
00:09:06
Speaker
Yeah, he's had a really bad 18 months full stop, hasn't he? So those are my midfield three. There's quite a few to choose from. Ruben Loftuszczyk for sure, because gayre based on the first season he had and now he's lost his place in the lineup and he's just He looks like a complete waste of money now. um Same with Douglas Luis for the reasons you outlined. I can't pick Fajoli because I don't think he's ah didn't have any

Mehdi Teremi Debate

00:09:35
Speaker
expectations from him. i' I've never rated Fajoli as highly as some do, so I can't really pick him.
00:09:41
Speaker
um But I do think to koop miners is, if you take how much he's cost and the level he's played at, it's it's atrocious. I'm sorry, it's just absolutely atrocious.
00:09:54
Speaker
um i It's just not good enough. It doesn't mean that neither him or Luis or koop miners can't turn it around. Of course they can. But if we're talking up until this point, if you look at the price tag, the expectation and what's been delivered,
00:10:10
Speaker
I mean, those those two are just, it's I did think, I did think myself of putting Creek miners, I will be honest. And and I, I just stayed away just, but I think the arguments there to having they based on the price, the price tag, I think he has been set up to fail as well. um But, so but yeah.
00:10:30
Speaker
Yeah. um Attack now. So you're going to have two in your attack. I'm going to have three. So first of all, I've got Mehdi Teremi. He was signed to to strengthen Inter's backup or rotation options in attack, which has been Inter's weakness in the in the loss last years. That's really for me being the only area really Inter really needed to improve and he and he hasn't he hasn't strengthened it. he's he's ah eight starts nine sub appearances just one goal and four assists and three of those three of those all came in the same game against against red star belgrade and he's got one goal contribution in seria so yeah he's he's he's been a he's been a disappointment although i did already have some question marks on him based on his last season at porto and i've got mattias sule
00:11:17
Speaker
Although I have a bit of sympathy but for Soule, a little bit like with Koop-Miles, I think he's been set up to fail. He was Roma's big statement signing of the summer. um And so we're recording this actually during Roma's game, so I don't know whether Soule's come on and done anything in the second half. and But no, he hasn't. and In fact, is he even on the pitch? No, he isn't.
00:11:41
Speaker
Sule has one goal and no assists from 17 appearances, eight of them starts, but tactically he doesn't fit the system of any of the managers that have had the three managers that have been at Roma this season. He's a winger and they and they've been playing basically not winger wingerless
00:12:05
Speaker
wingless system. ah wingless system and he yeah I feel sorry for him. he's been's He's been set up to fail. I blame that more on the Roman management, but again, at the same time, you know big marquee signing and

Striker Struggles and Advice

00:12:20
Speaker
It's been a disaster so far. um And then my third player I've gone for is Bettina. Again, I'm looking at the price tag here. Genoa spent 20 million on Bettina, 20 million. and That's not much less than what they got for Paredeschi. And um he's got 14 matches this season, nine starts, zero goals.
00:12:43
Speaker
um It's just for a team like Jenna to pay 20 million and for him to be that bad. I mean, that's just that's terrible, terrible business. So yeah, really bad. ah can't I have to push back on the Tarami thing for the simple reason that out of 16 games, he has not stared he has not played in six of them and the remaining 10, he's only started one.
00:13:04
Speaker
ah That was against Lecce where he had an assist. Against Genoa, 15 minutes. Atalanta, 11 minutes. Monza, 34 minutes. Udinese, 15 minutes. Torino, 22 minutes. Juventus, 3 minutes. Empoli, 15 minutes. Venizio, 19 minutes. Napoli, 8 minutes. I don't possibly understand what more he could have done. He's got 8 stars.
00:13:21
Speaker
No, he doesn't. Not in the Serie A, he doesn't. No, but in all competitions he's got to start. But you said we're doing on just Serie A. OK, OK, fair enough. Fair enough. OK, I'll give you that. I'll give you that. If we're talking Serie A, maybe, you know what? Yeah, but if we're talking about the Champions League as well, look at the games. Arsenal, City.
00:13:37
Speaker
Was he bad in those games? No. If that was a game where he worked hard for the team, they were without position and they suffered. him Having said that though, you know if he was if he was if he was doing better overall in all games, including the Champions League, including in training and everything, he would be getting more time. and i think No, because he's been rotated. Simonin Zaghi has rotated seven start seven players between five to eight players every single game, because he has to. And he's he's spoken about this because of the fact that they play every three days. yeah um If I were to criticize Tarami for his performance, as I criticize him heavily for the Liverpools in-game, where I thought him and all of Inter's attack were poor, as we discussed at the time, and I think he was poor against Leipzig.
00:14:19
Speaker
um But other than that, those games against Arsenal, against City, against you know Seven of Fish, they scored a goal and made an assist. I think that there's no excuses. um it's not good enough It's not good enough. Because I mean if i think if we're going to put players like Spin that Zola, like Godfrey, who have barely played.
00:14:36
Speaker
you know in and other players then you know we can't i know that you can use the excuse of not playing a game as a free transfer ben godfrey cost 15 million like what's been a solar come as a free i get that but what i'm saying is i think that if you if you're going to you're going to have to play more than 232 minutes across 16 games like i just feel like it's it's not like especially when you've been rotated in a team that's actually doing well i think it's been azaleh was different because he was you know they're playing once a week and he can't get into the team there's a difference there. And then when he's played, he's been he's been bad ah in in in in the Serie A. I would say it's the other way around. I would say you're playing once a week, then you're not going to get as many opportunities, because Kante has one system and the other one's going to be blessed. When you don't play once a week, eat when you when you're playing against teams, that you should you know he's brought in to help Kante.
00:15:25
Speaker
you know He's supposed to be the the the quality, and he's not even getting in when when Napoli play Empoli, I'm sorry. but yeah there's no ah yeah We'll we'll have agree to this disagree, I think there's no excuses. onreing absolutely he's not but only I don't think he can say that. If you want to talk about that's a different debate but in the Serie A when you play 232 minutes in 16 games I don't know what to what else he could have done especially when he's played in the important games in Europe and he's done pretty okay except for one or two games one game where he was bad and one where the whole team's attack was bad and the second game he was
00:15:57
Speaker
he was ah he he He was not too good either in that game, but they won. But when when he's called upon, you know, he's not been played against Helas Verona. He's not been played against these simple teams where he can score goals. And also the role that he's got in Inter is different. He's much more deeper. He's far away from the goal. So it's it's there's this nuance to this. But if we're talking about the attack, ah look, Sule, Vitinia, Bellotti, like Sweet Jesus,
00:16:27
Speaker
Like, what they they've been bad. They've been bad. um And, you know, we we can criticize Vlawic. He has scored seven goals, but he's missed quite a few. I think Raspadori is another one who's been incredibly disappointing for me. I've expected far, far more from him.
00:16:47
Speaker
um there's There's quite a few to pick from, to be honest. um Raspidori needs to leave. He really does need to leave. I mean, you're talking about the game time that Teremi's had. Well, Raspidori's had 253 minutes in the Serie A. That's 22 more than Toremi in the Serie A, playing once a week. I mean, again, you're not rotating. They were in the Copa Italia.
00:17:15
Speaker
But where's Conte? You're not going to get a game. You know, he has a set 11 and they play every single game. So he's got no chance. I love that crazy lunatic. But no, it's not been good. it's ah um I want him to leave because I really rate the player. I think it's been very, very disappointing.
00:17:33
Speaker
um and yeah look it's a i don' I don't know who to pick out of those that I mentioned. I think they've all you know been awful. Bellotti as well is like, what's going on?
00:17:47
Speaker
like I mean, if you can't even do anything here, I don't know what we're doing. like why Why even continue playing football then? What's the point? Do you know what I mean?

Coaching and Transfer Disappointments

00:17:58
Speaker
Unfortunately, he's been unfortunately's been finished for a good three, four years now. it is nice's it's It's quite a few, so just take your pick from them. I think they've been... And Soule, for sure. I mean, if we're looking at we're looking at the number of the money spent and all of that, but then there's also this thing where he came to a Roma that is a bit of a mess. And I don't know. or And when it comes to Vittina, well, maybe they overpaid for it. Maybe, you know, this la but he's not that good and Genoa got suckered. So I don't know. It's it's it's difficult. But I think Soule definitely because of
00:18:30
Speaker
Well, Vittinio flocked at Marseille, and they still signed to pay 20 million for Vittinio. Yeah, so and so I can't really, I don't know if, yeah, so I'll probably have to go with Sula and Vittinio, or I'll have to have Bellotti in there as well, because he's been atrocious when he's played. So yeah, Bellotti and Sula, but yeah, any one of those goes, you can you can pick any of them. Yeah, okay. um And also, i want to i want to I think it might be a little bit unfair, but I don't know i don't know how much lecture you've watched.
00:19:01
Speaker
But Christovich has been really pissing me off this season. Like, he has genuinely gotten off. Isn't he living off the first three games of last season, basically? Yeah. Like, he has been getting on my nerves um a lot this season. um And yeah, so a little shout out there too.
00:19:24
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. Okay. um Let's go through the worst of the worst. Flop of the season. I've gone for, I think I have to go for Douglas Louise. Yeah. Flop of the season. I think about what he costs and all those. Yeah. It's difficult to say anything. Worst transfer.
00:19:47
Speaker
I mean, you could say Douglas Lewis again, but in order to make things a bit different, I think I'm going to go for Mathias Soulay. I'm going for Mathias Soulay because of the reason that for the for the reason that it was the worst transfer in the sense that they bought a player that they didn't know how to use. And he signed for a club that this was such an important decision for him. And he got it wrong. And he went to a club, whether he was misled or there were promises made that weren't kept.
00:20:16
Speaker
this was just a bad decision all around. um Unless they bring in a coach that can play in a way that can utilize him. I think him, he's he's been overall, all things considered between transfer fee and everything. I think Sule is, it stands out for me. Douglas Lewis, of course, because he's been the flop, but you know, like you said, you don't wanna just pick one all the time.
00:20:42
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, fair enough. Worst, worst coach. I i mean, I think Fonseca and Motta need to be a little bit careful. um I think I'd have to go Ivan Urich. I mean, that was, that was a horror show. Again, you know, I think he was set up to fail a little bit as well. But, but if you look in the overall, I mean, that was just,
00:21:06
Speaker
from all angles, from why did you appoint him, to the actual performance of the coach, to the fact that the entire changing room hated his guts and not even even a single one of them even said goodbye or thank you to him at the end. so I mean, just everything about that was just a complete disaster. So taking everything into account, and I think it's Yurich by a landslide.
00:21:26
Speaker
But that there's a few that need to be careful. but i think you need to It was a stupid appointment. If you remember at the time, when we both said, it like why are you bringing him here? He's not going to work. Um, so I can't blame him. I think you need to, you know, if you, you know, square pegs round holes, if you, if you make a bad decision and appoint someone who has no business being there tactically or whatever, and you know, that he's a volatile character, you're asking for

Critique of Coaching Appointments

00:21:52
Speaker
trouble. I mean, you talk about setting being set up to fail, uh, that, that, you know, that that's definitely like that for me.
00:21:59
Speaker
ah with Yurich, but I, this breaks my heart a little bit, but Luca Gotti was just not good at lecture. Like it's it's, you know, and Gianpaolo's come in and he's done well. You know, he's done better. So I think that's big but that's that's one of them too. Luca Gotti's, it's heartbreaking, but also, you know, i I'm not, it's it might seem a bit harsh, but Ucebio de Francesco, like, what's the point? I mean, at least like literally, what is the point? You know that when he comes to a club in the Serie A, they're going to finish last or we get relegated or before he's sacked. What is the point? And also, you have to say Alessandro Nesta, he has failed miserably at Monza. Like, they're not, they shouldn't be 19th.
00:22:58
Speaker
they've got I love the guy. I love him too. He has been a little bit very unlucky in some games, but yeah i mean the the table doesn't lie at the end of the day. He's 19th. One wins, seven draws, eight defeats. It's like, the and the squad, should is is I'm not saying it should be in Europe, but it sure as hell should not be 19th. No.
00:23:25
Speaker
No, they're they they're much better than that. So I probably have to go with Nesta, to be honest. Now that I say it out loud, the more I talk about it has to be, but if we're going to, in terms of performance has to be Nesta, but if we're talking about cluster Fs, it's Yurich. The Yurich appointment was a cluster F from beginning to end.
00:23:45
Speaker
like
00:23:48
Speaker
yeah so Yeah, it

Humorous Anecdotes in Football Coverage

00:23:49
Speaker
was. It was a complete cluster of. OK, final two before we finish off. Prem face of the season. Right. i This has just come um on Saturday, actually. i think And I think this is prem face of the season so far. Although if you can remember and a better one, Nima, then p pleaset please please do do do shout it out. But I'm going for the European lad who on this Saturday, the past weekend,
00:24:17
Speaker
tweeted out that Marcus Turan had opened the scoring for Aston Villa against Manchester City. He tweeted that out together with a picture of John Duran, who had actually scored the goal to open the scoring for Aston Villa. I thought long and hard about this, about how he possibly got from John Turan to Marcus Turan. How did it happen? like I just ah was just trying to think,
00:24:47
Speaker
I don't know. Have they played together? Have they? Turram's never played in the Premier League. Durram plays for Aston Villa. Turram plays for Inter. How could this possibly happen? I could not believe it. Anyway, Turram quote tweeted it.
00:25:04
Speaker
which it was hilarious with a screenshot of yes of this couple cananiero race and and with his current 11 goals crossing off the 11 and scribbling 12 next to it on top with a caption so funny thanks bro it's so funny that's not that's that's not being that's not getting beaten that is absolutely fantastic trolling by Taram. For me, that's like Bajou of the season by Taram. That is the way he's done it too with the scribbling. and No, that that's funny. That's genuinely funny. ah Marcus Taram seems like a very funny person. like he has a very like He has a sense of humor um and and he seems like a really genuinely funny person to be around. like He makes jokes. and
00:25:55
Speaker
No, he's funny. um Yeah, I got I got Miguel Delaney Because I sent this to you. um So one of our patrons, okay um He tagged us Kenzie, let me see Kenzie multi-santi he tagged us under one of Miguel Delaney's, and he tagged the pod under one of Miguel Delaney's meltdowns over Serie A, which he has um quite often, and it was about this the 100 best footballers in the world that Guardian does every year, and Lautaro was seventh,
00:26:33
Speaker
And he's written, Lauturo. So he can't even spell spell his name right. So he's got Lauturo Martinez seventh. I must WhatsApp my colleagues at the Guardian about this voting system. Is there even an alternate universe where Martinez is better than Salah?

um and And someone's replied to him saying, well, he's actually won quite a few trophies. He was the best player in Serie A, was the best player in Coppa, blah, blah, blah. And then he goes, and then you see him play. And then someone tagged us. We are the pod, right? In this thread did not reply. I, we have not, neither you or me replied. And he just blocked us. He just blocked the pod. Yeah, he blocked the pod, blocked the pod. And I couldn't stop laughing. So when we haven't even said anything, we just got tagged. Now I love this. I absolutely love this.
00:27:27
Speaker
because this is how how, this is for me the quintessential prim face. You are so insecure and so scared that you just immediately know that you're going to get roasted because you're full of shit. And then you immediately go like that. I wouldn't say prim face. I mean, his initial behavior was prim face, but the blocking behavior, that's, that's your quintessential corporate mainstream media journalist. journal this yeah but it's part of it. I think this entire behaviour is just so quintessentially premise of the season and I love it because he's such a hack.
00:28:05
Speaker
if i like literally of all these low IQ, low frequency, untalented, no talent loser corporate mainstream hacks. He is, he's like the Raoul of prem faces. If you have like Raoul Gonzalez-Blanco, if you remember Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson said, you know, he's not a 10 in anything, but he's a seven in everything.
00:28:31
Speaker
ah That's the thing. Miguel Delano, when it comes to every prem face metric, he's not a 10 in everything, but he's a 7 out of 10 in all the prem face metrics. He's the complete prem face. And it's just a I love it. So he's he's the so I guess that's says that's a compliment, I would say. But no, he he is you know he he is. He really is the the most complete prem face there is out there. And so insecure. I remember about a few years ago, as soon as somebody used to criticize him, he used to DM them abuse. um on on ah He literally can't handle it. And it's it's just so, so, so, so funny.
00:29:11
Speaker
yeah well i think he's i think it's hilarious i think it's absolutely hilarious well you should stick to the the old sports washing shouldn't he then he does 30 miles about selection is washing exactly it's it's it's funny who who sports washes and who doesn't yeah he's he's hilarious but the biggest the biggest hack there is in english speaking football media and that is quite That's telling something because he's not really even good at it. He doesn't even like he's just he's just he literally is an automaton like you just tell him what to say and he does it and he goes and he gets and he has no self-awareness because he gets completely called out and humiliated time and time again.
00:29:53
Speaker
but he just can't like react. he can't he just He just blocks you instead because he's got nothing to say. I think it's absolutely hilarious. I think he's funny as hell. I actually like Mizzi because of the fact that he's such a parody of himself. So I love it. God bless you, Mizzi. Happy Christmas.
00:30:13
Speaker
i have no words i just god bless you miy happy di even been i just don't even and i And I urge everyone to go and read that thread. It is pure comedy. um like I just remember him during the Qatar World Cup crying about but the whole sport-swashing thing.
00:30:31
Speaker
and then on the first day of the tournament, that's why me post in a posting an image from his his ah his paid luxur luxurious accommodation, overseeing the beautiful views. and it is I just thought that's brilliant. That just sums up that sums them up. doesn't Yeah, that's what I mean. Like he is he is the quintessential prem face. Like if you if you um if you like I said, like there's different parameters of prem facery. He's not the biggest one in 10. Like he doesn't hit the number 10 in any of them. But he's the overall like if you have the spider that you judge player quality and he's the one with who's whose whose spider is the who covers the most area of the prem face spider like that is literally him. I also have to say also have to say he has a really stupid name. Like who kills their kid Miguel Delaney? If your surname is Delaney, who on earth kills their kid Miguel? honestly No, that's mean. let's i you I don't care. It's a stupid name.
00:31:38
Speaker
It's up there with the most stupid names you can ever, it's up there with with Neville Neville, like Gary Neville's grandparents call him calling him their father Neville Neville. It's like if your surname is Neville, don't kill your first, don't kill your child Neville. If you've got like a really kind of English or in this case Irish name, like Delaney is the most Irish of kind of surnames you could get, right?
00:32:02
Speaker
You don't then call your first name like some kind of like really spat Hispanic or or or Mediterranean or Latino name, do you? It's like look if your surname's Smith and then you call yourself, I don't know.
00:32:17
Speaker
Diego or Salvatore, Salvatore Smith. You know what I mean? It's like the equivalent of that Miguel Delaney. Yeah, Salvatore Smith. That's amazing. That's absolutely amazing. Well, could you imagine? Salvatore Smith.
00:32:38
Speaker
That's brilliant. I love that. like hear what i say i don't even mean here you're right i see it That's after I said I've stayed out of it. I didn't destroy his name. That's brilliant. I love that. Yeah, you're right. yeah I see your point. Yeah, that's fair enough.
00:32:55
Speaker
Salvatore Smith. If I went to school with Miguel Delaney, I'd be destroying that name all the time. I'd be destroying him, not just for me, just his general kantish demeanor and stupidity and all the rest of it. But yeah, no, that's brilliant. Salvatore Smith. I see what you mean.
00:33:15
Speaker
Yeah, the name is, it's the oil and water, doesn't it? It doesn't go together. I see what you're saying.

Serie A App Critique

00:33:22
Speaker
That's fair enough. Or you could go the other way around as well. Can you imagine if you had like a really Italian surname, like mine, Garganese. And then give me like a really English first name to go with it. John Garganese.
00:33:37
Speaker
Brilliant. I love it.
00:33:43
Speaker
u Someone's going to click this up and send it to him, aren't they? Probably. Probably. Probably be Saneet. Saneet will do it 100%. That's right up his alley. Merry Christmas, everyone. yeah god dear what way What a way to to finish our last show before Christmas, isn't it? All this bullying.
00:34:04
Speaker
yeah well we still have the seria ass of the season so and i know you're going to go after that woman oh sir yes oh yeah good i haven't really thought about this so i'm just going to say ana guaneria seria ass of the season overall i think she deserves it but there was um there's been quite a like just generally sometimes it italian like you say italians p and pr and And, you know, life jackets, ty jeffsons what is some of the stuff we see. I have to say, the Seria app that we got, we got a question on that on the Q and&A last week, which I'm still laughing at, like, because when I, the way he described it, um the the the the patron who sent that in said that he'd signed up, he downloaded the Seria app.
00:34:53
Speaker
And he couldn't make it work. It's in Italian, which I don't know if maybe he needs to update it because when I downloaded, he could choose it in English. But the marketing emails that he gets are all in Italian. He doesn't speak the language. That made me laugh to the point of like I still giggle at that, like I'm sitting here just working and then I remember and I start laughing at it. And then you go into the app itself in when you choose English like I did. And it's just full of absolute Borat gibberish English on their official app.
00:35:23
Speaker
ah And and it that that to me is is is like, it's so quintessentially serious. And also I found a new one, Il Messagero. I don't know how long they've had this, but they have an English version.
00:35:39
Speaker
It is gold. It is comedy gold. El Massagero's English ah version version is is just... Definitely a virgin. Well, I don't know, but it's hilarious. it's it's it's it's I can't stop laughing. I was ah go in there once or twice every week just to read the English ah abominations that of their articles and it's just it's just pure pure comedy.
00:36:05
Speaker
um Yeah, but it but it's not really serious. It's just, you know, whatever. Let's have an English page and then I'll have anyone who can speak English who runs it. I think it's just, you know, what can you do? Yeah, no, I like also going back to the Serie A app. I loved the other thing about they've got like all these stats on the on the app and they have like top posts and top offsides. Yeah, that's what I mean. That's what I mean, the top offsides. The best. nights in but yeah i was love christmas so oh italians hey it's that nice funny i love it i i love these italian after they never change no and and god bless them i hope they never do change because it's absolutely brilliant i love it it's it's so good um but yeah no it's anyway let's let's leave it at that um so yeah apologies again guys we couldn't give you a review of the weekend but um i hope you enjoyed this show
00:36:55
Speaker
um ah anyway and I hope everybody that celebrates Christmas has a fantastic Christmas and Happy New Year and we will be back, we'll certainly be back in the new year with with with what we not with our normal programme but we might have a show before the new year actually. um yeah In fact we we probably should do actually. Yeah we'll probably will do, we'll we'll have the Q and&A if not for the patrons but for everyone else we should probably do one as well.
00:37:22
Speaker
Yeah, we'll we'll sort up we'll we'll definitely we'll find time in the next week for the to to to do something for sure. Me and them will go away and work something out. And if again if people want to support the the the pod um as many have, we've never had as many patrons as we had this season. We've never had as many listeners on on on the free episode as well as we've had weekly this season and subscribers and on YouTube and Spotify and and and
