Speaker: This is Two Beans and a Podcast.
Speaker: This is Two Beans and a... What was that?
Speaker: I don't know if we were acapellating it today.
Speaker: I don't know where the thing is at.
Speaker: Oh, well.
Speaker: I don't know what happened to it.
Speaker: What's up, everyone?
Speaker: Here we are.
Speaker: Miguel just acapellated our little intro for you.
Speaker: It's a new one and we're working on it, you know, currently.
Speaker: Working on it.
Speaker: New week, new podcast.
Speaker: I'm Nate.
Speaker: And I'm Miguel.
Speaker: Oh, how are you doing, Miguel?
Speaker: Doing great, man.
Speaker: This summer is a great summer.
Speaker: Summer's busy as hell.
Speaker: Yeah, but... It's what it is.
Speaker: I like it.
Speaker: Busy and hot as a model.
Speaker: I was reading a little article that said that it's the hottest recorded month or something like that in history.
Speaker: Or like in the last 1200 years?
Speaker: Am I exaggerating?
Speaker: No, it was some crazy thing like that.
Speaker: It's been hot.
Speaker: It's wild.
Speaker: It's been hot.
Speaker: Hence why I don't have a light right here.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I'm in the dungeon, so we don't have AC in the dungeon.
Speaker: Like, over there, it's regular usage because it's a basement.
Speaker: Like, that's what you guys use it, right?
Speaker: You know, like... Yes.
Speaker: Over here, it's like, no, we don't have basement.
Speaker: So, if you have a room downstairs, it's insulated and that's it.
Speaker: But there's... I haven't installed anything on this.
Speaker: Insulated and that's it.
Speaker: That's all, folks.
Speaker: What's been going on with you this past week or so?
Speaker: Well, I told you I'm like a full-on coach, right?
Speaker: Like I got my credentials and everything.
Speaker: No, I didn't know all that.
Speaker: Yeah, I mean.
Speaker: I thought you were just a rec league dad coach.
Speaker: Well, so last season I kind of was –
Speaker: you know, leading the practices with them and like, you know, doing most of the, I guess, uh, sweat, you know, sweat work, sweat equity.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: And, uh, it was kind of like it was my team, but when it came down to like,
Speaker: switching kids in and out.
Speaker: The, the dude that actually works for the reg was like, you know, doing that because I guess on paper it had to be a certain way, blah, blah, blah.
Speaker: So I went in there and I got my fingerprints done and, and,
Speaker: You know, yeah.
Speaker: Damn.
Speaker: They go through a rigorous process.
Speaker: They want to make sure you're safe.
Speaker: No weirdos?
Speaker: Huh?
Speaker: No weirdos?
Speaker: Yeah, no weirdos.
Speaker: For sure.
Speaker: So I went, I did that, and then got approved or whatever.
Speaker: So now it's my team, my plays, you know, my sub.
Speaker: Los Gatos forever.
Speaker: Los Gatos?
Speaker: What you mean Los Gatos?
Speaker: What's that?
Speaker: What you talking about, Willis?
Speaker: That was my ignore team.
Speaker: Just thought you guys could adopt it if you wanted to.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Montgomery Waller.
Speaker: So maybe Montgomery Waller Gatos.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: Just Los Gatos forever.
Speaker: Just Los Gatos.
Speaker: I'm actually thinking since it's like my first official team, I'm going to get some like shirts for them, you know.
Speaker: Will you be able to continue the same team every season, or does it change?
Speaker: It changes by age.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: So I have this team because... Would you be able to level up with the kids like?
Speaker: this age and the next season they go to this age.
Speaker: So I tried that with Melissa.
Speaker: Melissa, you know, I was coaching her last season, but not enough kids of her age group showed up this season.
Speaker: So we had to send her to another rec.
Speaker: Oh, really?
Speaker: So she's playing for a whole other rec.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Oh, dang.
Speaker: Yeah, so we go and take her over there, take Maya over here, and yeah.
Speaker: All over the place.
Speaker: Yeah, but so I'm coaching Maya's age group right now.
Speaker: So she'll still have a couple more years.
Speaker: So I'll be able to like stay with her.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: You know, coach her team as she gets older and hopefully the kids stay together, you know?
Speaker: Right, right.
Speaker: Because they've been, I mean, we've known most of the kids for like two years already.
Speaker: That's cool.
Speaker: Oh, yeah.
Speaker: It's cool.
Speaker: I like it, brother.
Speaker: The kids.
Speaker: Oh, so we had our first game and we played against a club.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Oh, dang.
Speaker: It was like neck and neck.
Speaker: At the half, it was 2-2.
Speaker: And we're like, all right, cool.
Speaker: It's two 20-minute halves, you know?
Speaker: And we're playing indoor futsal in the basketball court.
Speaker: Mm-hmm.
Speaker: So two 20 minute halves, I got 10 kids and I'm just like switching them in and out.
Speaker: I'm like, come in, come in, boom, boom, go.
Speaker: Yes.
Speaker: You know what I mean?
Speaker: And I don't know, for some reason right here in this area,
Speaker: The club parents, you could totally tell that they're different than, like, rec parents.
Speaker: I don't know if it's because they have to pay a big fee or what, but they're a different breed.
Speaker: They talk smack.
Speaker: They talk smack to the ref.
Speaker: They talk, like, they're kind of aggressive towards the kids in a way.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: Just the way of being.
Speaker: So we beat them.
Speaker: Oh, damn.
Speaker: And the kids were just like, ah.
Speaker: And then their kids were like, what?
Speaker: Because they haven't lost like a game in a while.
Speaker: So I'm like, oh, okay.
Speaker: We got a team right here.
Speaker: So yeah.
Speaker: Yeah, it's cool.
Speaker: I like you, man.
Speaker: These kids are.
Speaker: None of these parents are going to jump me, right?
Speaker: Looking around.
Speaker: So I'm like super involved in the game and I'm...
Speaker: I'm celebrating with my kids too.
Speaker: You know?
Speaker: The kids are like, yeah.
Speaker: I'm like, yeah.
Speaker: You know?
Speaker: As you should.
Speaker: So, I mean, the score ended up, it was from 2-2.
Speaker: It ended up being 5-2.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: So, but as I was walking away, walking out the gym, I just feel like,
Speaker: All the eyes.
Speaker: Eyes penetrating.
Speaker: Like, oh, yeah.
Speaker: And I'm like, oh, and then I noticed.
Speaker: I was like, oh, I'm the coach, so they don't like me.
Speaker: You know, I'm like over here clueless because I'm just like, hey, it's a game at the end of the day.
Speaker: Like, you know?
Speaker: Like, I wasn't talking smack.
Speaker: I was just coaching the kids throughout their game, you know?
Speaker: So I wasn't talking to the refs.
Speaker: I wasn't talking to the kid, you know?
Speaker: And then you're just like.
Speaker: Yeah, I'm walking out.
Speaker: I'm like, oh.
Speaker: I'm the bad guy.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Oh, you're mad at me.
Speaker: Cheers.
Speaker: You're mad at me.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Oopsies.
Speaker: Did I do that?
Speaker: That's how it's gonna work.
Speaker: Yeah, but these club parents, I don't know.
Speaker: I don't know what it is, but lately I haven't had a good, like, um.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: I haven't seen them display some respect towards like little kid rec leagues.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: Or like, you know, sportsmanship.
Speaker: Just a little bit.
Speaker: That's crazy.
Speaker: Yeah, but I don't know.
Speaker: It's been a good couple weeks.
Speaker: How about yourself?
Speaker: How have you guys been?
Speaker: What have you guys been up to?
Speaker: Oof.
Speaker: Home projects.
Speaker: Trying to stay not melted because it's so hot.
Speaker: I hear it.
Speaker: Stupid hot.
Speaker: What else?
Speaker: But y'all got mad lakes over there.
Speaker: Yeah, it's still hot.
Speaker: Shoot, I'll be in the lake every day.
Speaker: You have the ocean.
Speaker: Yeah, but full disclosure, right here in
Speaker: Where I'm at, like, the closest ocean is polluted most of the year.
Speaker: Oh, okay.
Speaker: Yes.
Speaker: Polluted, he says.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Waste water, you know.
Speaker: Gotcha.
Speaker: Good old poop.
Speaker: Just poop.
Speaker: Just poop water.
Speaker: Yes, sir.
Speaker: No, yeah.
Speaker: Just doing all that and hanging out, playing.
Speaker: Yeah, that's about it.
Speaker: Going to the old lagoon, our little theme park, you know, we have.
Speaker: Oh, it's like a water park or what?
Speaker: No, it's like roller coasters and rides.
Speaker: They have a water park inside, but just a little theme park.
Speaker: Nothing crazy.
Speaker: Nothing like what you guys have over there in California.
Speaker: We've been in an upstate world a little bit just because we have like the annual pass.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: But yes, so we got passes too.
Speaker: So it gets so packed.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Like, uh,
Speaker: The days we've hit it actually have actually been really nice.
Speaker: Like we've hit it on like a Sunday afternoon pretty much every time.
Speaker: And lines are short.
Speaker: Everything is just like, do, do, do, do.
Speaker: Just go do whatever really, really quick.
Speaker: Pretty much.
Speaker: That's nice.
Speaker: Your kids in school already?
Speaker: I was like, I don't realize it till everybody tells me, you kids in school already?
Speaker: I'm like, yeah, this is the first week of school.
Speaker: That's crazy.
Speaker: Yeah, they're year round.
Speaker: So every couple of months they get like two weeks, two weeks off or something like that.
Speaker: So dumb.
Speaker: It's, I mean, it has its pros and cons.
Speaker: I think these kids these days, they get so much time off in school.
Speaker: I don't remember getting like half the days these kids get off in school.
Speaker: Do you think it's better like that?
Speaker: No, I think it's worse.
Speaker: You think it's worse?
Speaker: I think it's like you can end school probably like a week or two earlier and then have a little bit longer of a summer rather than have all these
Speaker: ridiculous days off during the school year.
Speaker: So you like the long summer?
Speaker: I prefer a long summer over random days throughout the year where you gotta try and find like childcare or something.
Speaker: Oh, you're talking about it in the parent thing.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: And the kids.
Speaker: I mean, like why wouldn't you want a longer summer?
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: I just think that
Speaker: A longer summer.
Speaker: Like my kids, bro, they want to do something every day of summer.
Speaker: And we do.
Speaker: We tell them to calm down.
Speaker: And we do.
Speaker: We're out in the paddle boards.
Speaker: We're out in this and that.
Speaker: And although they're back in school, it's still summer.
Speaker: And after school, we're still going to be hitting the beach, the paddle boards, and all that.
Speaker: So summer starts at 2 o'clock when they get out again every day.
Speaker: You know what I mean?
Speaker: But like...
Speaker: Your kid goes back in August, maybe?
Speaker: Pretty close, yeah.
Speaker: Something like that, right?
Speaker: Something like that, yeah.
Speaker: Yeah, so your kid gets in in August, and they get out again mid-September for two weeks.
Speaker: Yeah, see, that's crazy.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: I think it's good for like...
Speaker: Their brain, like being in school for six months in a row.
Speaker: Like, I don't know.
Speaker: That's tough, bro.
Speaker: I'm not.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Well, I mean, they have certain days off, but I just think it's a little excessive.
Speaker: Like Matt's kid, Evan, where he goes at the RSL Academy.
Speaker: They get out in like May.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Because they don't have all these crazy days off during the school year.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: So they get out of school for summer like...
Speaker: The second week of May, I think.
Speaker: Really?
Speaker: And then goes back like the same time, August 20th, 21st, something like that.
Speaker: What?
Speaker: Like almost the end of August.
Speaker: Huh.
Speaker: That's wild.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: To me, I feel like I would enjoy that more.
Speaker: Yeah, it's cool to have two weeks off in the middle of whatever, but I don't know.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I think it's crazy.
Speaker: I get it.
Speaker: Either way, they get a lot of time off.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: For sure.
Speaker: Crazy amount of time.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Crazy.
Speaker: That's the thing.
Speaker: It's like, oh, man.
Speaker: How to keep them busy for that long for almost three months.
Speaker: I mean, you're still doing it, so it doesn't stop.
Speaker: It's a little break in between.
Speaker: It's a little break.
Speaker: You know?
Speaker: It doesn't stop.
Speaker: Anyways.
Speaker: You just said summer starts all over again at 2 p.m.
Speaker: It does.
Speaker: It does.
Speaker: The old 1,400 for those 24 hours.
Speaker: I mean, because we got to take advantage of the sun, too.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: You know?
Speaker: We got to take advantage of going to the beach when we can, because it's
Speaker: The days are hot.
Speaker: That's what summer was for.
Speaker: But the water's cold.
Speaker: That's what summer's for.
Speaker: Mm-hmm.
Speaker: And you can get there earlier and get done earlier.
Speaker: We're going to Laughlin.
Speaker: It's going to be like 120.
Speaker: Yeah, I'm aware.
Speaker: 120.
Speaker: I think Jasmine said yesterday it was 115.
Speaker: Yay.
Speaker: I'm just like, ugh.
Speaker: I just hope it doesn't rain like it did last time.
Speaker: Why?
Speaker: Because it was so humid that first day.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Like humid and hot.
Speaker: No, we're not going to Houston.
Speaker: It feels quite humid in there.
Speaker: Quite yucky, muggy.
Speaker: Walk outside and you feel like you got to turn around and go take another shower.
Speaker: I'll be in the river all day though.
Speaker: I mean.
Speaker: We got a limited amount of time, bro.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Well, all there is to do is the river.
Speaker: And we got the boat cruise.
Speaker: Oh, yes.
Speaker: The boat cruise.
Speaker: The buzzed boat cruise.
Speaker: Is that what it is?
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: I'm like, oh, I want to be some bazooki.
Speaker: We're calling like Thursday.
Speaker: Thursday.
Speaker: To make sure that the Saturday Voyage is going to leave the dock.
Speaker: Oh.
Speaker: Because if it isn't.
Speaker: Uh-huh.
Speaker: We ain't going.
Speaker: I ain't going to go eat dinner on a boat at the dock.
Speaker: Oh, you ain't going to the.
Speaker: I thought you ain't going to Laughlin.
Speaker: I'm like, wait, whoa.
Speaker: That's a little much.
Speaker: That's a little traumatic.
Speaker: No, the Voyage.
Speaker: We're calling to make sure the river cruise dinner.
Speaker: And.
Speaker: And what?
Speaker: They better give us our money back, right?
Speaker: If it's going to go out to sea.
Speaker: You have to cancel within 24 hours.
Speaker: Oh, in writing too, right?
Speaker: Like before 24 hours, you have to cancel like a day ahead.
Speaker: And then in writing too, right?
Speaker: Yeah, it says it in writing.
Speaker: Oh, Lord.
Speaker: So that's why I say we'll call Thursday to make sure it's like full enough that it's going to leave the dock because I'm not just going to sit on a boat at the dock to eat some food.
Speaker: We can go into the casino and pay half the price and get the buffet.
Speaker: That is a great point by Nate.
Speaker: Nate, one, boat, zero.
Speaker: Oh, I already told Julian.
Speaker: I'm like, yo, we're calling Thursday to make sure that shit's leaving.
Speaker: Because if it ain't leaving, what's the point?
Speaker: We get some steaks from Kirkland.
Speaker: From Mr. Kirk.
Speaker: You dig?
Speaker: They got good steaks.
Speaker: They do.
Speaker: Costco, that's where Traeger buys all their meat.
Speaker: Get the value pack.
Speaker: The value pack.
Speaker: $300.
Speaker: Throw it all under the grill.
Speaker: Some lobster.
Speaker: Do they have a grill?
Speaker: Yeah, they got grills right there in the pool.
Speaker: Do they?
Speaker: Yay.
Speaker: I don't remember.
Speaker: Shoot.
Speaker: Everybody throws $100, throw that in the casino, roll it, roll it on seven.
Speaker: Oh, my.
Speaker: Instead of throwing it in the boat, it's going to stay docked.
Speaker: Runs in the family.
Speaker: That was a joke.
Speaker: I don't even play.
Speaker: Is it?
Speaker: I just went to Pechanga the other day because my aunt, she hooked us up with like two nights because they have like a pool and all that.
Speaker: So the girls and, you know.
Speaker: Oh, is that where you were at?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: So it was like our last hoorah last week before, you know, they go back to school.
Speaker: So I'm like, all right, cool.
Speaker: We went to the Pechanga's.
Speaker: And we passed by the casino.
Speaker: I was like, eh, whatever.
Speaker: I went to the pool all day.
Speaker: We were in the pool for like almost 10 hours.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: You can get food right there delivered and drinks.
Speaker: I was going back up to the hotel room, get my drink.
Speaker: You know?
Speaker: Because I was going to pay $16 for a beer.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: What the hell?
Speaker: So I had like a six pack up in the room.
Speaker: You can't bring your own?
Speaker: down?
Speaker: Not all the way down.
Speaker: You can take it in.
Speaker: We can't bring it down.
Speaker: One elevator takes you straight to.
Speaker: Boom.
Speaker: Gotcha.
Speaker: Anyway, so yeah.
Speaker: And I played $10 on the Blackjack little game and I won $10.
Speaker: Oh, dang.
Speaker: $10 on 21.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Very nice.
Speaker: That's Jazzy all the time.
Speaker: She's like,
Speaker: Is there any money involved?
Speaker: Everything got to be a bet and money involved?
Speaker: Goodness.
Speaker: Goodness, lady.
Speaker: No, I'm just saying if we don't go on the boat, we can maybe make a million dollars.
Speaker: Maybe.
Speaker: If we bet it on seven.
Speaker: We maybe could.
Speaker: But it's a long shot.
Speaker: One in a million.
Speaker: I'll take it.
Speaker: One in a million, it's cool, it's whatever One in a million for a million One in a million to win a million One in a million for a million, split the same ways So then we get what?
Speaker: 500,000 500 million I mean 500,000 Split seven ways Split two ways That's better Alright Then you can move here Yeah Anyways bro
Speaker: What did you think about Messi's debut on an Inter-Miami jersey?
Speaker: Surprised he came on as late as he did.
Speaker: 52 minutes?
Speaker: 56.
Speaker: 56?
Speaker: 56.
Speaker: I was a little surprised.
Speaker: I figured since he didn't get the start, he'd probably come on at halftime.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: It's about halftime.
Speaker: A little bit surprised that it...
Speaker: was a little bit more than the second half.
Speaker: But of course, I mean, it wouldn't be the Cinderella story that it is so far if he didn't score that goal to win it in the first match.
Speaker: Yeah, that was wild.
Speaker: I mean, it's just like, of course that happens.
Speaker: Of course Messi did that.
Speaker: Why wouldn't that happen?
Speaker: The 90th minute.
Speaker: Yeah, why wouldn't that happen?
Speaker: Why wouldn't it?
Speaker: Just like, really?
Speaker: Dude, that guy is... I got the tennis.
Speaker: Yeah, I mean, what'd you think?
Speaker: Bro, one thing that stood out was that Sergi Busquets did not pass the ball to anybody but Messi.
Speaker: But the passes, bro.
Speaker: He hasn't played with this man for, what, two years or something like that.
Speaker: And he knew exactly where he was going to be.
Speaker: Chemistry doesn't go away, I guess.
Speaker: Wild, bro.
Speaker: And, I mean, yeah.
Speaker: What a way to end it, right?
Speaker: Of course.
Speaker: And then to come on and get the start.
Speaker: Oh, yeah.
Speaker: For the second match.
Speaker: And then get two goals and two assists.
Speaker: In 22 minutes.
Speaker: And it's just like, okay.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: That's that.
Speaker: What do you think?
Speaker: Does this say anything about the level of play that is over in Europe than the MLS?
Speaker: MLS.
Speaker: I mean, yes, I think in some ways.
Speaker: When you're in Europe, you're pretty much expected to win.
Speaker: Right?
Speaker: It's an expectation.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: It's not a, yeah, you know, we went out there, we tried real hard, wasn't going our way tonight.
Speaker: No, it's like you were expected to win or else manager's gone.
Speaker: Next guy.
Speaker: Next, please.
Speaker: Next.
Speaker: Next.
Speaker: With big clubs.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: So, I don't know.
Speaker: It's definitely a quicker paced type of play.
Speaker: that they're coming from compared to what they're playing in MLS.
Speaker: And I mean, they played Cruz Azul, which is, I don't even know where they're ranked in Liga.
Speaker: Well, the Liga just started, but they're not a bad team for, for like, like right now they're in, they're in pretty good form.
Speaker: So, I mean, like, you know, I mean, it wasn't,
Speaker: If it wasn't for that shot going in, obviously it would have ended in a tie.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: So it was very fortunate for Miami, clearly.
Speaker: The second match, Atlanta just has been a little poor as it is.
Speaker: They looked okay.
Speaker: They look all right, but...
Speaker: They still haven't been playing up to level when they had Martinez and stuff like that.
Speaker: So I was a little surprised that it was a 4-0 blowout, but I wasn't surprised that Miami won that match.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: So that was good.
Speaker: And I'm looking at it.
Speaker: I asked because...
Speaker: I see the different types of play.
Speaker: And I mean, this is the first tournament where a lot of the teams participate from both Mexico and USA.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: So I'm watching the match, the show, those versus union.
Speaker: And there's a red card, like 20 minutes, bro.
Speaker: Was there?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I didn't even see that, no.
Speaker: Cholo's got two red cards.
Speaker: Really?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: That's crazy.
Speaker: Yeah, bro.
Speaker: Two red cards.
Speaker: Two red cards.
Speaker: Damn.
Speaker: Yeah, man.
Speaker: Super early on?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: That's crazy.
Speaker: Yeah, so I was like.
Speaker: That didn't go to PKs, did it?
Speaker: It didn't, but wait.
Speaker: Even with two men down, Cholos were still giving them a lot of push, and our striker missed a penalty.
Speaker: So it would have been – it ended up 3-1, but it should have been at least 3-2 because of the PK.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: And then there was another goal that was disallowed.
Speaker: But I was going to ask you, they don't use VAR?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: No, they have it.
Speaker: I saw it set up.
Speaker: Bro, they did not use VAR for any of the red cards or the disallowed goal.
Speaker: I was tripping, bro.
Speaker: I was like, what the... Because that's weird because I know they checked it on Marcillo Silva's red card on Saturday when we played... I don't know if there's... I mean, it was just a quick check, but it was obvious, so...
Speaker: I don't know if they're learning as they go because the Cholos match was like one of the first matches.
Speaker: So I don't know if they fixed anything since that, but it looked like... It didn't look good.
Speaker: That's crazy.
Speaker: I didn't like it.
Speaker: I didn't like it.
Speaker: I didn't like it.
Speaker: Yeah, man.
Speaker: It was like...
Speaker: There's been a lot of good matches, though.
Speaker: Like, high scoring, I feel.
Speaker: Dude, there was that one that went, like, 15 rounds in PKs?
Speaker: For PKs.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I was like, what the hell?
Speaker: But even just right now, Toluca versus Nashville.
Speaker: It was, like, 5-3.
Speaker: Is it?
Speaker: Yeah, it just finished.
Speaker: Damn.
Speaker: Yeah, I was tripping out.
Speaker: St.
Speaker: Louis plays...
Speaker: How did I forget that?
Speaker: Oh, Club America.
Speaker: They play Club America.
Speaker: St.
Speaker: Louis does.
Speaker: That's probably started, actually.
Speaker: And then Cholos play again on Sunday versus Queretaro.
Speaker: Who does RSL play against?
Speaker: We've already played our two matches for the... What was the first match?
Speaker: Seattle.
Speaker: And you guys won 3-0?
Speaker: Yeah, 1-3-0.
Speaker: 1-3-0 and then lost 3-0.
Speaker: And then lost 3-0.
Speaker: So what place does the league leave you in?
Speaker: So right now we're in second, technically.
Speaker: And who's in first?
Speaker: Monterey.
Speaker: Monterey won both?
Speaker: No, Monterey has not played their second match.
Speaker: They play Sunday against Seattle.
Speaker: So Seattle basically had a whole week off from Saturday to Sunday.
Speaker: Monterey had like a half a week off because the tournament started, what, last Friday?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: We played them last night.
Speaker: And we played Saturday, Wednesday.
Speaker: So now we're off until next Friday, actually.
Speaker: So we – You still advance.
Speaker: We're pretty much – I mean, unless Seattle comes out of nowhere and scores at least three goals because they're down three goals right now.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: You know, on goal differential.
Speaker: And we're a zero since we had three goals and then lost three goals.
Speaker: So they have to come and get a beat, Monterey, by at least, you know, one, I think.
Speaker: One-zero?
Speaker: A one-zero do it?
Speaker: No, they have to get three goals.
Speaker: Oh, okay, okay.
Speaker: So they still have to get three goals and then beat them to get past us.
Speaker: Or to be tied past us or whatever, but...
Speaker: The way that Monterey was playing last night, I don't see Seattle.
Speaker: You went, right?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: They're on fire or what?
Speaker: They're fast.
Speaker: They're just quick.
Speaker: No, dude.
Speaker: They actually just got a lot of new players.
Speaker: Did they?
Speaker: Good players.
Speaker: I mean, they're good.
Speaker: It was kind of our redemption match from 2011.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: We lost to them in the CONCACAF final.
Speaker: So by one goal So it was kind of a revenge match But We still got our booties We got our booties spanked So That sucked But Yeah, we'll see I don't think Seattle's going to pull it off against them So we'll move on To the next round And then we play Leon Next Friday night
Speaker: August 4th here.
Speaker: At home.
Speaker: Yep.
Speaker: You're going?
Speaker: Oh, yeah.
Speaker: Got my tickets today.
Speaker: They go and sell to public Monday.
Speaker: Sick.
Speaker: For some crazy reason, we don't advance, then we get our money back, but I don't see that being an issue.
Speaker: Oh, so they're selling before they even... I mean, yeah, they're kind of banking on
Speaker: The way that we, I mean, if it was like we won by a goal on Saturday, like it was like 1-0 instead of 3-0, they probably wouldn't be saying like, you know, this and that.
Speaker: But we'll see.
Speaker: Is Leon like a knockout match?
Speaker: Yep.
Speaker: That'll be the round of 32.
Speaker: So that's when the knockout rounds start.
Speaker: Because we'll play them.
Speaker: My bad.
Speaker: And then, yeah, win or go home.
Speaker: Dang.
Speaker: Yeah, Cholos, they lost 3-1.
Speaker: But then Philly, I think Philly's playing today.
Speaker: So, let me see.
Speaker: I think, or tomorrow.
Speaker: Do they play today or tomorrow?
Speaker: I thought it was tomorrow.
Speaker: Let's see.
Speaker: Damn, Club America is up 3-0 on St.
Speaker: Louis right now in the 70th minute.
Speaker: Really?
Speaker: Yep.
Speaker: It's Querétaro, right?
Speaker: Querétaro versus Philly?
Speaker: I don't know why I'm not seeing it.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Dang!
Speaker: Philly beat Querétaro 5-1.
Speaker: Yesterday.
Speaker: Was it yesterday?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yes, yes, yes, yes.
Speaker: Dude, that means that Cholos on Sunday just need one goal.
Speaker: That's it?
Speaker: They just need to win.
Speaker: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker: They just need to win.
Speaker: That's it.
Speaker: That's it.
Speaker: Because they beat them 5-1, you know?
Speaker: See.
Speaker: Damn.
Speaker: Damn.
Speaker: That's crazy because Philly, they were all right when they played Cholos, but damn, they smashed on Kareta.
Speaker: That is crazy.
Speaker: Hopefully, Cholos can do the same on Sunday.
Speaker: If we advance, bro, man.
Speaker: I was looking at the chart, and I was like, dang, let's see if RSL, whatever,
Speaker: meet up, but it's only like semifinals or finals.
Speaker: Is when they would meet up?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: They're like in completely opposite brackets.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: I don't know exactly how it matches up, but it still is like, I don't know if it'll happen.
Speaker: I'm trying to see who are they?
Speaker: They're in which group are they in?
Speaker: Are they in the South?
Speaker: There's so many, bro.
Speaker: There's so many groups.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Oh, they're in the East.
Speaker: They're in the East one.
Speaker: So E1.
Speaker: Yeah, it wouldn't be until like quarter to semifinals.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: It'll be crazy.
Speaker: It's fun, though.
Speaker: It's a fun little tournament to watch.
Speaker: It's a lot of teams.
Speaker: It is.
Speaker: It's crazy.
Speaker: It was definitely like... It's been a crazy season with MLS play, too, because...
Speaker: With this in the middle of the summer, basically, middle of the season, it's like they were playing so many matches beginning of the season.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: That's why we had so many matches like Wednesday night matches, Saturday night, Wednesday night, Saturday night, Wednesday night, Saturday night, Wednesday night for this tournament.
Speaker: Right, right.
Speaker: Because we only have five matches.
Speaker: We only have five regular season matches left at home.
Speaker: So 10 matches total.
Speaker: Oh, yeah.
Speaker: So they squished everything in.
Speaker: Squished it crazy.
Speaker: So I don't know.
Speaker: It's cool, though.
Speaker: It's fun.
Speaker: It gets more soccer and it gets more like media and scary music and stuff.
Speaker: Haunted houses.
Speaker: But back to that Miami game, did you see that, like, have you seen the videos of as soon as Messi came off of the pitch?
Speaker: The people left.
Speaker: Dude, the stands pretty much emptied.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Like, it's like, that's crazy.
Speaker: Yeah, that's the Messi effect.
Speaker: That's crazy.
Speaker: It's just like, wow, all right, see you guys later.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: And it was like 25 minutes left.
Speaker: Yeah, it's like, damn.
Speaker: Traffic that bad or what?
Speaker: It's crazy to think that, well, first it's just one person, right?
Speaker: But then you had Sergio Schatz.
Speaker: Jordi Alba's not there yet because he's a... Had a kid or something like that.
Speaker: Yeah, he had a kid.
Speaker: Rumors of another couple coming.
Speaker: But just with Sergio and Messi, it's like,
Speaker: revamping the team already and like it's a different different team oh yeah completely different two two matches not you know go ahead sorry and did you hear that messy
Speaker: is not playing in the next, I think it's versus Cincinnati or something like that.
Speaker: Because they, no, Charlotte, they decided not to put natural grass if they're using turf.
Speaker: In Charlotte?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: And so he's not playing because it's not natural grass.
Speaker: I guess it's like in his claws or something like that.
Speaker: Really?
Speaker: I don't know how true that is, but I just read it and I was like, what?
Speaker: That I guess every MLS club decided like, all right, cool, we're going to use grass.
Speaker: But this next team that he's playing, they were like, nah, not us.
Speaker: We're using artificial turf.
Speaker: For Leagues Cup or?
Speaker: I mean.
Speaker: For MLS play?
Speaker: MLS play.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Really?
Speaker: Let me see.
Speaker: What's the next?
Speaker: What's the next one?
Speaker: Inner Miami, Philly.
Speaker: Oh, let's see.
Speaker: So it says, I see something on Daily Mail saying that Messi will have to play on turf.
Speaker: Charlotte FC says, as club refuses to switch from artificial playing surface.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: August 20th.
Speaker: Some people were saying, like, I'd be surprised if Messi didn't play on turf.
Speaker: Will Lionel Messi play on turf?
Speaker: You think he will?
Speaker: I mean...
Speaker: It'd be silly if you don't.
Speaker: I mean, turf is known to activate different muscles in your body and you get hurt.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: If you play on artificial turf.
Speaker: So what if he doesn't want to get hurt?
Speaker: You don't want to risk it.
Speaker: Then I guess that's up to the coach and him.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: That's wild.
Speaker: It's a good Leeds Cup.
Speaker: It's good.
Speaker: I like it.
Speaker: Hopefully I get to watch my club in a city near you.
Speaker: You.
Speaker: You.
Speaker: You.
Speaker: But until then.
Speaker: That's crazy, though.
Speaker: I don't even know.
Speaker: I don't even know.
Speaker: I don't get it.
Speaker: What's going on with disc golf?
Speaker: Not much, bro.
Speaker: I went at it hard for a couple weeks, and then guess what?
Speaker: I kind of pulled my arm a little bit.
Speaker: I took like a week and a half off, and I went today, and I got the best score I've gotten at that spot, at Morley Field.
Speaker: Oh, shit.
Speaker: I got a plus eight.
Speaker: Oh, damn.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: You know.
Speaker: Some light.
Speaker: Over here, let's... Frolfer.
Speaker: Yeah, man.
Speaker: Have you... Let's get an update on your undefeated streak.
Speaker: We actually haven't played for a bit.
Speaker: Huh.
Speaker: Actually, it's been too fucking hot.
Speaker: Ah...
Speaker: No, we haven't played a bit.
Speaker: Actually, me and Jasmine were talking about her just like start playing like maybe every Thursday night.
Speaker: At night.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Like, you know, after work and stuff like that, see if my mom will come out and like hang out with Cruz and go to the park and, you know, play some rounds with whoever wants to come play and.
Speaker: you know, get our workout on, move our bodies.
Speaker: Yay.
Speaker: I was watching some videos because obviously, like, the algorithm heard me talking to you about it.
Speaker: So, put some, like, videos in my Instagram and I'm like, oh, they get off.
Speaker: Like, I'm like, oh, and I'm over here, like, bobbing my head, like, oh, oh, oh, I'm doing this.
Speaker: It can get wild.
Speaker: Oh, it's getting wild.
Speaker: It can get crazy.
Speaker: Like,
Speaker: And the other stuff is like, it's nuts.
Speaker: Like some of the rules, like you can hit the ball, like as it's going at it, like you can be out of bounds and you can hit it around the net, which is crazy.
Speaker: What do you mean?
Speaker: If you hit it around the net, like not on.
Speaker: So where the post is?
Speaker: Not over the net, but around the net?
Speaker: Around it.
Speaker: And it's a legal shot.
Speaker: Huh.
Speaker: There's some crazy shit that can go on.
Speaker: Study up on YouTube, son.
Speaker: Is it like tennis rules?
Speaker: I don't know if you can do that in tennis.
Speaker: I've never seen it.
Speaker: I don't know if you can.
Speaker: There's some crazy rules and stuff like that.
Speaker: Actually, there's a lot of new indoor pickleball courts that are popping up around here.
Speaker: With AC?
Speaker: Nice.
Speaker: They're popping up left and right.
Speaker: There's one probably...
Speaker: 10 minutes away.
Speaker: That's nice.
Speaker: There's another one.
Speaker: It's like 15 minutes away.
Speaker: Obviously they charge, right?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I was looking into it.
Speaker: No, you don't have to buy a membership.
Speaker: I was looking into it.
Speaker: They have like open play and stuff like that.
Speaker: And it's like, it was like five or 10 bucks for like two or three hours, which is more than plenty.
Speaker: That's good.
Speaker: You know?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Cause if you're playing with like people that are somewhat familiar with the game,
Speaker: The rounds can go pretty quick.
Speaker: You know, getting the score and stuff like that.
Speaker: But no, we haven't played for a little bit, but need to get it going.
Speaker: Maybe there's an indoor one in Laughlin.
Speaker: I've looked.
Speaker: There ain't no.
Speaker: There's a park.
Speaker: There's nothing there.
Speaker: There's nothing in love.
Speaker: There's nothing.
Speaker: There's a park that's like, I don't even know how far it is, like maybe 10 to 15 minutes away from where we stay.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: That supposedly has a pickleball courts and it has disc golf.
Speaker: Nah!
Speaker: Pretty sure.
Speaker: I'll have to re-look it up, but I'm pretty sure that's what I remember.
Speaker: I'm going to have to look at that.
Speaker: I'm ready.
Speaker: I don't know if I can play in 115 degree weather.
Speaker: It's alright.
Speaker: I play one round and be like, I'm done.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: You know.
Speaker: I'm sweaty.
Speaker: Maybe nine.
Speaker: Nine.
Speaker: Warm the arm up.
Speaker: Nine's okay.
Speaker: Your armor is already going to be pre-warm.
Speaker: Yeah, you're right.
Speaker: You're going to be too warm.
Speaker: I'm going to be burning up with that sunscreen.
Speaker: There's no warming up anything.
Speaker: You're already like there.
Speaker: I know, right?
Speaker: I'm loose.
Speaker: 100%.
Speaker: You're like, okay.
Speaker: Like in a sauna.
Speaker: Can't even pick your arm up because you're like, ugh.
Speaker: Oh, no, don't even say that.
Speaker: It's coming.
Speaker: It's like two weeks away.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I'm ready.
Speaker: That's crazy.
Speaker: Two weeks.
Speaker: The good thing is, if you're in the river, the river's like minus 30 degrees, so it's fine.
Speaker: It's true, though.
Speaker: It equals out.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: So cold.
Speaker: Yeah, we're going to some kind of...
Speaker: Japanese steakhouse, I guess, on Friday night.
Speaker: Who is?
Speaker: All of us.
Speaker: All of us?
Speaker: I think for your old G-Maw's birthday.
Speaker: Oh.
Speaker: Have you not got that memo?
Speaker: Wait, didn't we already?
Speaker: We hit that Japanese spot up.
Speaker: Have you guys?
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: I know last year we went to that nasty-ass Mexican restaurant and I sent my food back.
Speaker: It's called like samurai, Japanese samurai, samurai, Japanese.
Speaker: Yeah, I think we went last time and it was all right.
Speaker: It wasn't bad.
Speaker: You guys went last time?
Speaker: I think so.
Speaker: Like, it's in Bullhead.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: I didn't go.
Speaker: I think we went to a sushi spot.
Speaker: Well, then we'll check it out.
Speaker: I guess.
Speaker: It's like teppanyaki style.
Speaker: Oh.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: So it's like... A little shout out.
Speaker: Everybody was kung fu fighting.
Speaker: I don't really like people playing with my food, but I'll see what's... Go and catch the shrimp.
Speaker: Ching!
Speaker: Better catch it too.
Speaker: So yeah, I don't know.
Speaker: We got that two weeks.
Speaker: Yeah, man.
Speaker: Two weeks live from Laughlin, Nevada.
Speaker: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker: We're going to do that.
Speaker: Live.
Speaker: Maybe we'll be broadcasting live, streaming live on our YouTube channel that we don't have.
Speaker: We have two weeks to make it up.
Speaker: Maybe.
Speaker: Let's do it.
Speaker: We can do that.
Speaker: Get on the ball.
Speaker: We'll do it.
Speaker: We can do that.
Speaker: Alright brother.
Speaker: Well it was good talking to you.
Speaker: Good.
Speaker: Nice little episode for you people.
Speaker: Don't want to leave you hanging.
Speaker: Especially our listeners out in Brussels.
Speaker: Ayo.
Speaker: Amsterdam.
Speaker: Brussels.
Speaker: Thanks for listening.
Speaker: I like Brussels sprouts.
Speaker: Brussels sprouts.
Speaker: Yeah, man.
Speaker: All right, buddy.
Speaker: All right, man.
Speaker: As always, from the coastal plains.
Speaker: To the mountain range, baby.
Speaker: Two beans and podcasts.
Speaker: Yay!
