We're almost there. It's getting really close. And we have at Heartland Hope Mission, we have over 8,000 kids registered for our Christmas program. No, maybe, are you saying 800 or? 8,000. Way over 8,000 are registered for our Christmas program.

So, you know, and that's why that's that is one of the reasons why during our Christmas program, I get excited about it because we are reflecting the character, you know, the love of God on this planet Earth to our friends, our neighbor who just need a little bit of help this time of season.

Well, and that's what I was starting to explain with the SNAP delays is even though people came to a pantry, yeah they still had to use some of their money to buy things at the grocery store. So that meant they got behind on their utility bill or their rent bill. So we have families with so much more need this holiday season because of the delayed SNAP payments and government shutdown on top of the economic situation. So the need is just a lot greater. in this year. You know what? But you know what? The good news, our hope is in the Lord. Yes. Wow. Praise God.

No matter what you are going through, no matter how everything looks so crazy, I'm going to encourage you. We want to encourage you. It's not a time for you you look down on yourself. It's not a time for you to look to look sad and worry up about, oh, somebody's calling me for, you know, ah What is it? Is it Jesus? No, they're going to make a donation. I believe that's what it is. So now I'm to encourage you go to the website and you can give into this project. And it is a time for you to rejoice and be excited about God's grace.

Yeah, so some of the biggest needed items are just anything for teenage boys. We always struggle with teenage boys. Gifts for toddlers and then Lego sets for every age, but especially 9 to 11 year old Lego sets and art sets for girls age 9 11. and put pajamas for every age group. So those are our biggest needs. So we always ask um the needed item, like what item does your kid need the most? Over half the kids that registered this year need a coat.

And then pajamas and sweaters were the other two yeah high items that families Now, if it's someone who really wants to be part of this, someone like you that um' what we are talking to, and but they still, you know, because it's a season given, that's why there's an excitement on you know around this season. And everybody excited. some People are spending the money. you know People have saved money to be able to be a blessing this time. So now let's say someone who is really wants to be part of this, you know what i'm saying? But they don't have time to shop or to do all of that. Can they give into Absolutely. Because, you know, God's fun. likes have fun. I believe in favor. Yes. You know, I believe because of you, they can drop the price to 85% off for you. You know what? I had so much. So, you know what I do on, like, Black Friday, so Cyber Monday, is I shop for the mission because we need so much clothes for the kids. And so that's what I do. I'm like, $5 sweaters, whatever, you know, all of the shopping the mission needs.

ah She was so busy. that She didn't cook anything in the house. So we have to go. No, I'm getting started. I made a huge Thanksgiving meal. I did all the things. I have to go to McDonald's. um that we should talk about the anointing to shop yes because so we yes we had a fun time shopping. yeah And we had the favor of the Holy Spirit when we were shopping. We really did. And so I jokingly said that, and Wendy was like, yes, we should. We should talk about that today. so Yeah. Yeah.

So here we are. We're going to talk about shopping. well And I think the reason that we decided that is because people get into this religious mindset. And we were talking about how God cares about even the little details of our life, yeah how that's important to Him and what's going on. And so I think, you know, as we start looking at faith and one of the scriptures, when you started talking about, you know, no, let's really talk about this. that just welled up in my spirit was the scripture in John.

Chapter 15, verse 7. Because I think sometimes people jump off the deep end like when it comes to prosperity and poverty, and you get people on the two extremes. yeah ah you know And you said something powerful about faith when we were talking about how people... Matthew 17, 20 said, If you can have a little faith like a master's seed, you can say to these mountains, Move, and it shall be moved.

So with the shopping like Christians, we are based on how we should store up our treasures in heaven, this earth is... No. We need also to live. The Christian... you can Even if you are going for shopping, you can ask for grace. Pray before going out. Have you ever shopped and when you come home, you realize that You made a mistake these things you you don't need them yet Yeah Because last time my husband pastor Tila was saying some some of the shows They call people so to come in by not that they want to buy yeah They buy to take them on so when you go out there before you step out when you pray and ask for grace I said today we did yeah, and the Holy Spirit means us to us to go to this shop yeah, and then we had favor

We did. Well, and they, we had favor at the shop and there was a store that both of us had wanted to go to. And we had, we hadn't, we had gone other places and our husbands were both ready to go. Go to the apparel.

And I was like, well, we want, we really wanted to go to this store. So we left them. and They sat in the cool air conditioning yeah and Wendy and I went. Well, we got to the store and i'll I'll summarize. The guy sent us to the back. They had 75% off and then if you bought two items, an additional 20% off.

And a lady had grabbed, I had found this bag that I really liked and i was like, oh, this is nice. And I was looking at it and decided I was going to get it because it was a great price. And and i I had just walked over there and this lady reached down and grabbed a bag I hadn't seen. And I was like, that is... And the bag you grabbed to Iowa. yeah I liked it too. So I was should take our tickets. Yes. So she wanted, I didn't know that she wanted that bag. And the lady took the bag that I was like, that's like my favorite bag. I didn't see it there. And it was the only one. And so I asked the Holy Spirit. I was like, Holy Spirit, can you have her put that bag back, please?

So I can get it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So then I got the bag. that The lady brought it back after like 10 minutes. 10 minutes, yeah, yeah. I think she went and after, maybe the Holy Spirit said, go put it back. with us Because I prayed for it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So then we both got the bag we wanted. What we wanted, yeah. And at an amazing price. Amazing, amazing, amazing. So. But it was, you know, the favor of the Holy Spirit because He cares about even yes the little things. Yes. So there's a grace for shopping. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's a grace for shopping. So we didn't waste money.

So two things. One is the Proverbs 31 woman. Because sometimes people, you know, we were talking about this, they think, oh, well the Holy Spirit's not interested in your shopping trip. You know, that's not a spiritual thing to do. But were we were talking about He wants us to have fun. Yes, yes, yes.

You know? that There's this thing that all work and no play makes Jack's a dull boy. So you need to, after praying all your spiritual exercises, you just go out there, have fun. Yeah. Yeah. It's not spiritualize everything. No.

You need to have fun. So let's say after fasting and praying and all this, you are already in the spirit. So you have to get out a little bit and have fun. Yeah. Make yourself happy. Yeah. So it's Yeah, and love that you said that, like after prayer and fasting. Yeah, yeah because with Christianity is not based on, yeah, the Word, you read the Word, you pray, you fasted, and so you need to relax yourself, relax your spirit so you can have fun by shopping, going shopping.

Well, and the reason I love that is because ah John 15, 7, and I think this is where when we look at the scripture, we have to look at the total whole Bible, not just pull one scripture out and build a whole doctrine on it. But what does the fullness of the scripture say? And John 15, verse 7, it says, but if you remain in me and my words remain in you,

you may ask for anything, including favor for shopping, yes you want, and it will be granted you. And I think what's important about that verse is that it says,

if you remain in christ Christ and His Word remains in you. So in other words, if you line up your life with the Word of God and you have the Holy Spirit on the inside of you, you're intentional about pursuing after the things of God, then you're coming into agreement with the will of God. And when you are praying, your prayers are going to align with the will of God. You know James says you have not because you ask not and when you ask you ask amiss driven by your own self desires right? But if you are in the Word of God if God is your number one then you're not driven by those selfish desires you're driven by Jesus and when you're in that place where you're driven by him then you can ask for anything you want because your focus isn't the things right? Your focus is the kingdom the kingdom and what God wants done but

We just bought them Legos the other day because they're super into it. and yeah And God's a good father like that. He wants to bless us so he doesn't get upset when we ask him for our favorite bag at the store. Yeah, as you said, because if you abide in him and he ah but he will lead you. The Bible says, he leads me beside the soul. So he will lead you to a good shop. He will lead you to

But if you abide in him. Yeah. So that you will not go and shop unnecessarily. Yeah. Waste money. yeah But if you abide in him and he abides in you, he will lead you to a good shop that you can save money, make your family happy, make yourself happy too. Yeah. Well, and the Holy Spirit knows where the good de the good deals are. those How many times did the Holy Spirit it just wouldn't go away from us? Yes. We needed to go to that shop. think two times or the third one. Because of the Holy Spirit, He is prompting us. yeah And we even forget to go there. and So it's the Holy Spirit that is leading us. Yeah. Yes. It's his favor. and it Yeah. It's his favor.

It says, she dresses in fine linens and purple gowns. So she dressed really nice in fine linens. And purple was ah very expensive. Yeah, those days in GCS time, those it was very, very expensive. So don't tell me a Christian you can't afford to buy those things. You need to dress in the fine, lilly, purple. So you need to, you know, don't, there are teachings that goes on a Christian, you know you don't need to wear earrings, you don't need to wear wigs. No, no, no, no, no. no no no

not not Well, and I'm glad you brought that up because, again, you can't take one scripture, pull it out of context. yeah And you have to realize what was being addressed at that time in the Bible. yeah What he was talking about is people who were not focused on spiritual things. They were so concerned with carnal things. They were focused on their appearances and they were not focused on who God had called them to be. They weren't focused on being people of faith. And that's why he says you need to be beautified by your faith. I'm paraphrasing it. But that's what he said is that you need to be people of faith. Well, what did we read in John? you if you abide in christ and he abides in you that has to be your number one thing is the kingdom the kingdom if you're clothed if you are already clothed in that then you should make yourself appear well yes and you see that you see that with esther you see that you see that with the proverbs 31 woman which everyone uses as the standard well good use it as the standard because she dresses

Don't be discouraged, don't see, oh, I don't, the little, even, you can save, the little money you have, Yeah, I remember for us, we Africans, like we save, save, save, and go and build house in Africa, and in here we work hard, and then we don't look good. No, spend the money. Spend some of your money. Dress good. Make yourself happy.
