Global Sports Podcast Network
Hello and welcome back to the Daily Southampton part of the Global Sports Podcast Network. My name is Greg Elliott and as always today joined by my good friend and wonderful co-host Zach Ingo Finch. How you doing buddy, you alright?
00:00:27
Zak
Yeah, we we started this podcast probably 30 minutes later than we should have done because I taught you about Cyprus.
00:00:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
Well mate, both on and off the podcast you are eternally my teacher of interesting things, right?
00:00:37
Zak
for good
00:00:41
Zak
I appreciate that.
00:00:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:00:43
Zak
Anyone watching on YouTube will notice I've got a bandana thing on. It's just to keep the hair out of my face when doing my day job because quite like having long hair, but also it gets really annoying I'm trying to do stuff. So...
00:00:55
Zak
Now that's the way, mate. Yeah. How you doing?
00:00:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I'm alright, I'm alright. And look, we talked a lot about this international break and how long it has felt, butter but the game's come thick and fast when we're back, and we've got got three games in a week straight away, and i thought we'd take a bit of an opportunity.
00:01:04
Zak
a
00:01:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
Obviously, we'll do our our previews and reviews of the games as they come in like greater detail, but thought it'd be nice to look ahead to the week as a whole.
00:01:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
and sort of gauge out what we're expecting from it, how we feel we might do. Are we going to be playing with sort of two different rotated teams or are we just sticking 11 players out for the full, like 270 minutes?
00:01:44
Zak
Oh.
00:01:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
Like these are all questions that are going going have to be answered and and how, you know, how would we go about it? Obviously, I'm sure that there is a plan for all three games, right?
00:01:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
But it's interesting. So we've got, obviously, Swansea early kickoff on Saturday. And then, again, two away games, Bristol City away and Blackburn away on the the Tuesday and Saturday, respectively. so did I don't know, mate. What do you think is reasonable to expect out of three games like that? Because it's to me, it screams we should be taking nine points, but also you hate it when I say that about this league.
00:02:25
Zak
No, it's, you're right. I think that like seven at a minimum is where I would kind of feel with where we're supposed to be growing onto. But I also wouldn't put it past us getting like, guess I'd be happy with six, which yeah, sounds like we take a loss somewhere and you might go, why would we take a loss somewhere?
00:02:45
Zak
Well, big injury to Ross Stewart's less than ideal. They're going to have to change what they wanted to do and the way they're planning to play again. i don't know if that's going to hit from straight away on Saturday, right? That's the problem.
00:02:58
Zak
People coming back from international duty, e some people doing better than others, right? You know, Shea Charles absolutely bossing it for Northern Ireland, and I will probably talk about that when the international games are over. But, like, you know, there's some people that are key parts of what the squad is now who are not there,
00:03:15
Zak
And, yeah, we just have to live live and hope. But, like, again, I'm not... I'm under no illusion that we're just going to wander into three games in a week and win them all.
00:03:26
Zak
They're going to get tired They've already proven and shown that in three games in sort of, like, a week, they get really, really tired. There isn't the rotation for specific areas that we probably would have liked, right? Like, I don't know, you know, Manning is kind of taking that left spot right, but also he's going to get real tired.
00:03:48
Zak
He's also been away on international duty, so that means we might have start mixing things up.
00:03:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I mean... It's...
00:03:52
Zak
And I guess we've just got to try and like hope that the players that we've got in now, or that just hoping something is clicking a little bit more, right? if we If we go into Swansea and demolish them like we did way back what then, then happy days. But I'm cautious.
00:04:06
Zak
This is where I'm at.
00:04:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
kind of an interesting position we've got ourselves in, right? Because we've got this, you know, quite a big squad of players... But none of them are really quite like for like.
00:04:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
So to like move them into a system, you almost have to completely change the system.
00:04:20
Zak
Yeah.
00:04:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
And it's a real like tricky puzzle to solve. It's almost like you might be better off approaching you know two of the three games as two completely different 11s and going about it that way, right? because
00:04:41
Zak
Yeah, but then also you got,
00:04:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
Because can the system be the same with those moving pieces?
00:04:45
Zak
got to rely on form. And again, we've also shown like, we'll still change up the system if he has to, right? That isn't going to be the most important thing, I think, to how he approaches each of these games.
00:05:00
Zak
But you're right, that is that there is a problem with clicking. And the problem is, is you need them to, you need players to start playing together for it to click, right? That's what we started seeing with defense and how that started to be a little bit better.
00:05:13
Zak
And my worry is that a lot of the issues we've had aren't necessarily even the way that we're trying to play. We've had some frustrated games. We've had some opponents, you know, do things that we didn't really want them to do But more say it's that cohesion between the different players that we we were struggling to see.
00:05:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
Bye.
00:05:32
Zak
And that's why it hadn't quite clicked yet, right? Like misplaced passes constantly and, you know, thinking that Adam of Armstrong's going over here when he's over there. And like, you look at sort of... the teams that do really well that have really good partnerships and like strike forces and this and the other, it's because of all of those various different reasons. Right.
00:05:50
Zak
And like, sure you can, you know, some people, Greg might say that was the, the wonder wonder of the Guardiola system is that you just have the system and you just switch out the personnel, whatever.
00:06:01
Zak
But, but I think what it is is, it's more that these guys need slightly more time to get to know each other. And I'm just hoping that like this week has been able to, I guess, make that chair. By get to know each other, don't even mean like that. I just mean like it needs to start being slightly more fluid when we are when we are going forward. And it just hasn't been.
00:06:20
Zak
And I don't care how they do it. i don't care if it's Adam Armstrong, Cameron Archer, Downs, we end going to go a front four Strikers, whatever. I think that people just want to start seeing tangible progress because I think that
00:06:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hmm.
00:06:33
Zak
I know I've mugged it off a lot this week and and I know sometimes I can come across quite sort of like, oh, everyone's just complaining, but it's not actually that bad. Whilst also the next breath saying we're probably going to lose all our games, right?
00:06:43
Zak
Very confusing to you. I'm very aware. But again, it's it's not even really but we're at when we talk about the season that's the problem. I think it's, it's the vibes and it's seeing the tangible signs of progress. And whilst it's wonderful that we're still of seeing that, we kind of seeing it in games from a, from a fan perspective, we were like, Oh good. So the guy who just started going scoring goals is out.
00:07:08
Zak
So now we've got to fall back to what we were doing before that wasn't really working. are we going to do something different? When is going to click? When is going to click? When is it going click? When it going to gel? When is it going gel? Like we could we've been using these words, mate, like we can just shove them into a conveyor belt and we would be able to spit out the same lines over the last couple of weeks because that is the big thing.
00:07:26
Zak
And as as he knows, right, it's going to have to click sooner rather than later. of But there is a lot of like artificial pressure, for sure. But that's, like I guess, to answer your original question of like, hey, how do you feel about the next three games?
00:07:43
Zak
why Why am i not thinking we're going to get nine points from all of them, mate? It's because I'm cautious that these things need to start happening. And I think a lot of people have that feeling if they yet to see tangible progress, right?
00:07:56
Zak
Which you might have a different opinion to, and I'm happy to listen to that.
00:07:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Well, look, we'll we'll get to that. And I've got some thoughts, for sure. but But first, let's take a little break and have a message from our partners at Bionique.
00:08:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
Okay, mate, and we're back. Look, i I personally think that just seeing progress is fine. And I think that what we've seen is is some of it starting to work. And it's a real shame that this injury's come about at the time it has because it's you know it's almost like it's back to square one, although it's not really. But I think that there's this kind of two big points that I take from it, right? And that is now, what is what are we going to do up front?
00:09:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
And that's a big question that Will still has to answer and quick because, you know, don't hate the idea of Archer and Armstrong working together, but we've talked before about how they're just very similar players.
00:09:27
Zak
Mm-hmm.
00:09:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
And if you're a team coming up to defend against that, You just make sure you don't let any balls go in behind you and then they can't get anything. And we've seen that. And, you know, we look at Downs and he is, he's struggled when he's been on for sure. And, you know, he also looks like one of those players. He's definitely not this sort of hold it up player that we want. So, so what is the answer? And I don't know if I have it, if I'm honest, I did hear somewhat jokingly, Turtle Saints pod say, stick Taylor Harwood-Bellis up front. He can't be worse than in defense.
00:10:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
But, like, I mean, we've briefly talked about maybe sticking a Rebo in there. Do you think that that's, like, actually feasible? Do you think that's something we might see this week?
00:10:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
Like, like if if a Dozie and a Rebo don't get in any of the matchday squads for these three games, what are we doing with them is, I guess, the question.
00:10:23
Zak
No.
00:10:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:10:33
Zak
They're keeping themselves fit to get a move in January for the moves that didn't materialise in September. That's basically what I think is happening if they don't get into any of these squads. We didn't what's happened the last week. They could have been training with them. They could have been putting them through the ringer and waiting to to introduce them over these games.
00:10:53
Zak
the other The other thing that is interesting as the question of what can we do to resolve that, mate, is that are there any lessons to take from it? So with Ross Stewart being out for so long, I know you said like, oh, yeah, well, he had a full preseason. It was like, well, full 90 minutes is different. Three 90-minute games and, you know, little bit into that second, thus that third game early in the first half again, almost similar to when he got injured at Liverpool.
00:11:18
Zak
He goes out again, right? Hamstring issue. Yeah. do you think that maybe we don't see the same starting XI for whole three days? Because there is that injury risk there too.
00:11:30
Zak
Because i I don't know, if if i if it was me in that position, i would be slightly more cautious than I was beforehand.
00:11:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
i I don't know if it's a lesson we need to take on the whole so like the whole team, but for sure, like with hindsight, starting a player as as fragile as Ross Stewart, despite how important he was across those three games, feels really short-sighted, right?
00:11:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
Like, with the hindsight.
00:11:58
Zak
Yeah.
00:11:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
And, like, on I'm sure that it was probably just a case of he's he's key, we want to keep the form going, get him through, you know, 60 minutes and we'll whip him off. He's got two weeks to recover, international break, he'll be fine.
00:12:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
But I think that... you know Some players like Shea Charles, like you know the James Ward-Prowse's of eras gone by, like Karl Walker-Peters, are in a position where they they want to and are able and capable of doing that three games a week and just playing every minute because that's their level.
00:12:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
and And physically, some players are actually saying about Manning, like he's looked leggy and it's no surprise because the role he plays on the pitch is one of the hardest working roles right up and down that wing it's no surprise and it's just not viable to play that position well I don't think for that many minutes so it's an interesting one but like say I agree we need to probably rotate but rotation is so much harder when we don't have like for like swaps to rotate you almost need a completely different style of game completely
00:12:48
Zak
Yeah.
00:13:10
Zak
yeah
00:13:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
Like, it's not even out of the question where, like, one of these games is a back three and one of these is a back four with, like, a completely different set of people, right?
00:13:17
Zak
We've seen that happen on occasion, right?
00:13:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
Like, it seems feasible, right?
00:13:28
Zak
Yeah. i yeah i think and I think that's the other problem is that people think he doesn't know his best 11. I don't think that's entirely true. Just that you can't play nothing but your best 11 non-stop because of these issues.
00:13:39
Zak
Tried to do that and look where it got us. and And I think it does cause a bit Of cautiousness. and And you're right, like we do have to sometimes change the system. But we've actually seen that happen a few times already, where during the game, because of the substitutions that have then taken place, you know, and we've been all of a sudden gone, you know, brought it back instead and and this kind of stuff. And maybe that is the, I guess, the downside to not having a proper system that you play. And I know we've always talked about how we don't want that.
00:14:06
Zak
But with the way that the modern game is, that is also a problem because then you're right, like you try to shoehorn players that aren't really fit to play in a certain area. But then if you've got those versatility players like a Rebo that we've talked about, then yeah, maybe you start to try utilize them a bit more.
00:14:20
Zak
I just feel like there's definitely something going on behind the scenes if neither of them get into the squad this week. And that's just just just from from obs simple observation, right?
00:14:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
percent
00:14:28
Zak
You'd have expected see more movement by now with them being back and training with, you know, don't know if Aribo has been away with internationals. I don't think he has, to my knowledge.
00:14:40
Zak
So you'd expect...
00:14:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
If he was, it wasn't in the international guide and that in itself speaks volumes, right?
00:14:46
Zak
Yeah, so, so and and again, like But then also I can understand from Will Stills' perspective, okay, or even the club's perspective, like they have absolutely no desire to be here. I don't really want to risk putting them on a football pitch.
00:15:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm-hmm.
00:15:00
Zak
You know, I don't want to risk, I don't want to, or i don't want to risk this person doing really, really well and then just disappearing in January. And then I think that maybe we just got a trust in the process a little bit more and trust that there will be some answers this week. But I think that's why it's important it'll be important to... Now is the getting to the time where the vibes need to start shifting.
00:15:22
Zak
And this is... We're talking about how we've got so much of the season left and so much of the season left, but I can still remember us sitting there, mate, looking about, talking about, you know, the run in the... Oh, if we get this run going in the Premier League right up until we Christmas, then we'll be laughing.
00:15:35
Zak
All we need to is put this little run together. We just never put that run together, right? i think we managed to draw two games in the row, let alone win.
00:15:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
life.
00:15:41
Zak
And because of that, like, I don't want... this to happen with the team again, where it's like draw, draw, loss. And it might be that it's not as bad as where we're losing every single game, but I feel like you need to kind of have that drive from winning as well, because as much as losing is terrible, i think that you can't rile up your fan base.
00:16:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
tree
00:16:05
Zak
You can't get them all behind the team if you're constantly drawing like two all every game.
00:16:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, but do you think that that's just, you know, we talked about Hangover from last season, but not just that. you think it's just because, like, exclusively as, like, a core fan base, I'm trying to think back to when the last time we had a like, a really good home performance.
00:16:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
Right? Because, like, we beat Wrexham, but we made a mess of it.
00:16:34
Zak
but but West Brom, right? yeah That's probably it.
00:16:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Yeah.
00:16:38
Zak
like that That's literally when we beat West Brom in the playoffs, right? And that's why you saw that people wanted to try and bring that level of atmosphere to the Derby game, the South Coast Derby.
00:16:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:16:50
Zak
And then some people criticized us for not having that every game. Some people went, are you insane? You can't do that for like, you know, whole way. It's just not going to be the way it is. and And, you know, i think all people's opinions when it comes to that kind of stuff probably have a level of merit.
00:17:06
Zak
But yeah, you're right. So then, OK, we need to see a proper home performance. But also, if you put a proper home performance in and you score three goals and we let three in and it's a draw again, and it's just one more point on the board and we sit sort of 17th, 18th and we we sort of flounder around there, it will that change, you know, that it's it's going to affect the perception.
00:17:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
So, does that make the home game the most important game of the week? Like, is that the the sort of the... I mean, it's definitely also, I mean, because it sets the tone for the rest of the week as well, right?
00:17:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
Like, you get a proper...
00:17:37
Zak
Yeah, for sure.
00:17:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
decide Especially when you think about, like, the last two times we've had Swansea at St Mary's, 5-0 and 3-0 wins. So, and, you know, I know different teams, and, you know, they're a different team, we're a different team, but
00:17:47
Zak
Yeah, and this is this is the other thing.
00:17:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
really This is the sort of game we need to be stamping our mark on to make a lot of that noise go away.
00:17:58
Zak
Yeah, and and also, and on top of that, mate, like we've we've spoken about this before. like we We sit, we do a daily podcast on this team, we microanalyze. The people that listen to us on a daily basis will also be huge fans that will probably be microanalyzing a lot of stuff. and you know They might come to different conclusions or whatever, but the point is is like we're very locked into it.
00:18:20
Zak
There will be people that probably go to that game on occasion, mate, that will go to these games or but might go with their mates on a Saturday and they will not be paying as much attention to everything as we are. And they rock up and they're like, probably going to lose again. And then we rock up and we like lose 1-0 to Swansea and be really, really angry. And there'll be those that have the whole thing in a much wider perspective where like, well, we managed to beat Swansea the last four or five times they were here and now we can't.
00:18:43
Zak
And all that kind of stuff, I think, contributes to the atmosphere. and And plus, like, you know, I think we talked about it a little bit more in depth couple of weeks ago, but like the general, not not necessarily toxic it's toxicity, but like visibility of everyone's opinions about everything, right?
00:19:03
Zak
Like, we're part of that problem.
00:19:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hmm.
00:19:04
Zak
I'm aware of this. Like, hold hold our hands up. we we are We are podcasters. Like, i am I have never known so much about Rangers Football Club in my life in the last, like, couple of months, right? It's insane how that's all there and everyone's got an opinion of this kind of stuff. But, like,
00:19:19
Zak
When it comes to these next couple of games and that home game specifically, I'm not saying that, oh, it's going to make or break our season. I think that people need to start seeing a tangible statement win, a tangible statement you know performance for them to want to back the manager and want to, don't know, have that.
00:19:40
Zak
oh my God, we're not we're not going to go back up and oh, we're going to lounge like flounder in 13th, 14th place. reason there's a lot of feeling around that is that, you know, how have we won so far this season? like Ref helped us get Sheffield United over the line.
00:19:54
Zak
And then, and then Wrexham last day at St Mary's Wrexham, a promoted club where also it required two goals from defenders.
00:19:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Yeah.
00:20:01
Zak
Right.
00:20:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:20:03
Zak
So all of this stuff that we might analyze this and other, if you're just turning up to match day Saturday and you've gone to St Mary's for the 24th time in the last, and then, you know, and know you've only seen them win twice. Of course, if it goes doesn't go your way and doesn't go our way and it's a bad performance, you're going to get home and be annoyed about it.
00:20:20
Zak
And then there's a couple of thousand people doing that. It's going to cause bit more apathy. And, you know, we can say, keep the faith and we can say we back them all and this is this this that and the other. And I think that's that true, but and but we should, you know, back our team. We wouldn't be so passionate about it if not.
00:20:38
Zak
It's just that, Just very cautious, Greg. Very, very cautious.
00:20:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think it's going to be all right.
00:20:42
Zak
And I'd very much like to see like a decent home win.
00:20:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Right. I've got a special mystery segment lined up.
00:20:52
Zak

Zak
Let's go optimistic seven. There you
00:21:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Nice. I like it. Everybody who's a regular listener to the show knows that my answer's going to be nine, and that's never going to change. And, uh...
00:21:46
Zak
go. No difference, plus 57. I feel
00:21:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:21:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
I take it. Like...
00:21:54
Zak
an armour decouplet come in. Yeah, why not Alex McCarthy hat-trick as well? Yeah.
00:22:04
Zak
I shouldn't mock you for having joy in life, mate. I'm sorry. Oh.
00:22:10
Zak
good oh
00:22:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's fine, mate. It is fine. Zach, I've got a special secret segment that i've been I've been teasing you with for for a few days now.
00:22:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
And I think you're going to love it. it's It's a great one. it's sir Look, I want to take the lessons I learned about social media and bring them to the forefront with you.
00:22:35
Zak
Oh no.
00:22:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
And I'm going to get on one of these trends. And I want to do i want to give you the opportunity to do a blind ranking.
00:22:46
Zak
Oh, why?
00:22:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
but
00:22:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mostly for fun, but partially because I like watching you suffer.
00:22:56
Zak
yeah, it's understandable.
00:22:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
that I want to... I'm going to give you five players in our current team. And I'd like you to blind rank them one to five based exclusively on the quality of their song.
00:23:15
Zak
Sorry, that's song. Do we have songs for our players?
00:23:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:23:18
Zak
I was completely unaware of it.
00:23:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
we We have songs for at least five of our players, mate, because I've got this list ready.
00:23:26
Zak
these like... Oh, God. No, you're right. Okay, sure. Just...
00:23:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
so up So no particular order, mate. One to five. I'm going to spit it out, and you can put who you think goes where. So let's start with Gavin Bizzunu.
00:23:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
I guess, arguably, ga Gavin Bizzunu stroke Alex McCarthy. It's the same song. It's the name we change out. Seven Nation Army. Where are you putting that? One to five.
00:23:56
Zak
It's like a three. It's already mid.
00:23:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah? Alright.
00:23:59
Zak
Sorry. It's there.
00:24:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's fair. I like it. Alright. Second on my list, Flynn Downs.
00:24:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
With, I think the original cool song is called Sit Down, but you get Oh Flynn Downs, oh Flynn Downs, Flynn Downs next to me.
00:24:15
Zak
Yeah.
00:24:18
Zak
Like four.
00:24:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah?
00:24:20
Zak
Yeah.
00:24:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
Alright. How about Joe Aribo
00:24:26
Zak
Number one. it's I'm going to miss him.
00:24:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. like You like a bit of gold?
00:24:34
Zak
for sure. For sure, mate. For sure.
00:24:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Do you know, I think this was my number one. I think knowing what's on the list, that another one of these songs would make my number one. But ula we'll get there.
00:24:44
Zak
Interesting.
00:24:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
Next up on the list, Adam Armstrong. It's just about a song. Do-do-do-do, right? Yeah.
00:24:54
Zak
The problem is, is it's it's not like it's not like it's a really good song. I would have put it a cro i gotta to pay above most of the other stuff that I had. It's more that that will get stuck in my head significantly more than the rest of them. But that isn't what the rank is, so five, because that's not really a song.
00:25:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:25:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
Five. All right.
00:25:08
Zak
it'd say It's just, it's a, to me, more than anything else.
00:25:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
All right. So you've put that number five. So coming in at your number two spot, last on the list, Tom Fellows.
00:25:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
When Marimba Rhythm starts to play. No, that's my new favourite song.
00:25:22
Zak
No, do you know what? Maybe, maybe I would have put that top so I'm not as bad because where I'm at is those bottom three I could pretty much put in any order.
00:25:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:25:32
Zak
i like the Tom Fellows one and obviously you've got Joe Reba up there. The only song that we have, other than, well I say the only song we have, the only song that I know is regularly sung.
00:25:43
Zak
So I guess, nice.
00:25:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
oh wait i i've heard marimba rhythms lots the last couple of games it's really taken off and i'm there for it it's uh rapidly becoming my favorite uh
00:25:51
Zak
nice
00:25:54
Zak
but it's it's quite
00:25:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
replacing replacing some of the amusing chants that lot I always enjoyed. Like, I missed when we had Stewie and Adam Armstrong playing for us, and we did the old Kolo-Yaya-Torre chant, but with Adam and Stewie.
00:26:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah?
00:26:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's
00:26:13
Zak
Yeah, I'm okay with that. I'm not as upset as I thought I would be off the back of it, put it that way.
00:26:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
good. Well, look, just a little bit of light-hearted fun to wrap us up, mate, though. It's all well and good, talk the chatting about the football.
00:26:25
Zak
Hey, to be clear, let's say it's also like not all demon-clean. Like, I know I'm a miserable so-and-so, right? And I understand that i have I have lots of opinions and lots of... so To be clear, I've got this in a lot of my actual day-to-day life as well. I'm just very just a cautious individual. i worry about a lot lot of stuff.
00:26:42
Zak
Comes across pretty obviously on this podcast, if I'm totally honest. and And that means it kind of translates across to to to my football team as well. and But for we know, mate, you're right. We could go out there, you can get nine points and everyone's hunky-dory. And we talk about how we've got like, you know, the next next generation incredible footballers and we're going to win the championship because we went three games in a row.
00:27:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mate,
00:27:05
Zak
that is also That is also something that could just happen. I don't think it will, it could.
00:27:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
don't remember whose tweet it is, so unfortunately it is going to go uncredited, but it still remains my favourite of the season so far. We're just three games into our 25-game unbeaten streak and we don't know it yet.
00:27:23
Zak
Oh, yeah. i See, our far the problem is you say that and then all of a sudden I'm back to, I'm back to like, come back to reality. Wake up. Stop being miserable. Maybe, maybe I prefer the blind ranking.
00:27:36
Zak
Let's put some Spandau Ballet on me. Why not?
00:27:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Absolutely. Look, I wish we could, but, you know, copyright strikes are a thing. So, unfortunately, we're just going have to put up with with our own little sting. But look, that is all we've got time for today.
00:27:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
i hope you've enjoyed listening. Zach, thank you very much for joining me and putting up with my dumb social media games. Thank you everyone for listening.
