The Pythia's Frequency - A Drum, the Oracle, and the Glitch

A study from Northwestern University found that across eight orders of magnitude in body size, every living organism clusters its communication signals around 2 hertz - the same rate as walking, as the resting heartbeat, as the overwhelming majority of popular music worldwide. A second study from Yale found that group rhythm-making can measurably repair the brain's prediction engine in people with psychosis, reducing paranoia and rebuilding social cognition.

 Taken separately, they're remarkable neuroscience. Taken together with the Schumann Resonance at 7.83 hertz, the shamanic percussion corridor at 4-7 hertz, the predictive coding framework for hallucination and trance, and forty thousand years of rhythmic ritual practice across every culture on Earth, they describe something much older and much stranger.
