Speaker: Welcome to the Italian Football Podcast. Well, let's talk a little bit about Italy. um What do you think of this Italy team? Because we on the Italian Football Podcast are not too optimistic cutting into this tournament. and Listen, one thing about the Italian team is that defensively they know how to play. Even if you look at the way they play, you know They played a 3 -5 -2, but then they get, as soon as they lose the ball, they get back behind the ball. They're disciplined defenders as a unit. And I think that's something that a lot of teams haven't got. um But I think when you look at the plays that they've got at the moment, I think, you know, I like Guarela. I think he's fantastic. Jorginho, who's done everything so well at Arsenal, not played as many games as you'd like. um but I think that the plays that you've lost for young defenders held the inning.
Speaker: um He's going to be a superstar. He's going to be a superstar, a young kid, a total disappointment. And then you've got some backup up front, who's a now finding his feet at Atlanta. So, I mean, yes, they've got one of the favourites. right And it's funny though, they're actually holders of the tournament. We're signing up one of the favourites. You can never really discount the Italians. But just from a quality point of view, I'm not sure they've got enough to go all the way. But they're going to be a tough opposition.
Speaker: You mentioned Barella, he's widely considered to be Italy's only world -class outfield player. Would you agree with that statement? And secondly, do you think Italy have any other outfield players that are world -class? I think we kind of use that word world -class pretty easily, you know what I mean? I think Lusi is a very, very good player. You know, he's got potential needs to be a great player. World class, I'm not too sure, I listen, I think it's been awesome for Inter, but now he needs to do that in the internet. Because that's what it's about, that's a big world class player to perform in his Euros, performance in in the world situation. As far as anybody else, I like Bastoni, he's been half, I think he's a top player.
