Viv: And I'm your host, Viv.
WILD ONEZ: And this is episode 19, and we are... Super excited for these next set of episodes that are going to be randomly dropping.
Viv: So exciting.
WILD ONEZ: So stay tuned.
Viv: Dude, so excited
WILD ONEZ: I know it's going to be great.
Viv: This is the most chaotic thing we've ever done, but I'm here for it because it's just, oh, chef's kiss 10 out of 10.
WILD ONEZ: I feel like it's up like also just very on par for our personalities so I'm very excited.
Viv: This is true. If we get good feedback, we might just randomly drop it certain times of the year. It'd be like a surprise.
WILD ONEZ: Hey. Amazing.
Viv: I know.
Viv: what have you been up to sarah how is your body feeling did you guys finish painting your house
WILD ONEZ: We have, okay. Yeah. So we have not. finished painting our house yet we still have the trim to do that's a never -ending project and when I say never -ending it really feels never -ending if you guys have been listening to this podcast for this entire summer you have heard about me talking about painting our house but it is almost finally there we just have trim to do and it looks really good so far
Viv: Oh.
Viv: Add five.
Viv: Yay!
Viv: I'm so excited for you.
WILD ONEZ: But yeah. Viv, you have some big things coming up. How has your training been?
Viv: We got the Chicago Marathon!
WILD ONEZ: Uh -oh.
Viv: That's in like three weeks, two weeks, whatever weeks we're on. and I'm going to attempt a BQ. So we'll see how that goes because it's a very quick turnaround.
Viv: But I have some super shoes. Hopefully they work out. I'm going to try and test them this week. But my body is like... Super used to that easy pace, that 10 minutes for me, 9 .30s. That's what I've gotten my body used to.
Viv: But we're going to be pushing like 745, 730s and it's like not happy right now. So check back in in a couple of weeks and we'll see if I survive.
WILD ONEZ: She's cruising.
Viv: So.
WILD ONEZ: She's doing amazing.
Viv: That'd be that'd be fun. But yeah. So, and if you...
WILD ONEZ: She's gonna be flying.
Viv: shameless plug so hopefully i think that this is this is dropping before chicago but shameless plug i am fundraising so if you find my instagram let me know i would love any donations you guys can get or just share the link That too. So we're very close to fundraising for the Angelman. foundation.
Viv: So I'm very excited.
WILD ONEZ: Heck yeah. I'm so excited to watch you crush this marathon and support you along the way.
WILD ONEZ: Okay, well.
Viv: It's so fun. I'm sad that marathoning is not a team sport like swimrun. because we are interviewing a team today. I'm so excited.
WILD ONEZ: Wee -hoo!
Viv: Sarah, do you want to introduce who we have today on the podcast?
WILD ONEZ: Yeah, so. We have... amazing Deanna and Andrea who have competed in the swimrun world championship race this year.
WILD ONEZ: What a crazy wild day it was and I am very excited for you all to hear their stories.
Viv: Insane.
WILD ONEZ: So without any further ado, we're just going to get right into it. Welcome to the podcast guys!
Deanne Ross: Thank you.
Andrea: Thank you.
Deanne Ross: Excited to be here.
Andrea: I'm excited to be here. This is very cool. I've never done anything like this. So this is very exciting.
Deanne Ross: Me either. This is my first podcast.
Viv: We're so excited to have you guys.
Andrea: Thank you, guys.
Deanne Ross: Thank you.
Viv: I think just like. Hearing. Your guys' backgrounds and how you guys got to Worlds, like... Everything about you guys, I just adore you both so much.
Deanne Ross: Aw, you're so sweet.
Viv: So we're so excited to have you.
Andrea: Thank you.
Deanne Ross: Who do you want to go first?
Viv: Well, let's let's start from the okay I have to preface this with literally every episode now, but we'll start from the beginning, not your birth story, how you came into this world, how you got into Swimrun.
Deanne Ross: Right.
Viv: How did you get into Swimrun?
Deanne Ross: Okay.
Viv: First...
Deanne Ross: You want me to go?
Andrea: Go ahead.
Viv: Yeah, all you.
WILD ONEZ: Go for it.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Okay. I have a great story because it was during the pandemic. I was at a place called Glorietta Bay in Coronado. And every day I was swimming there because all the pools were closed and everything like that.
Viv: Nice.
Deanne Ross: So I pull up and I see these guys. There were three guys. And I go. God, they look so funny. I don't know what they're doing.
Deanne Ross: So being the shy person that I am, I just walked right up to them and said, what are you guys doing? And they're all, we're doing swim run. Have you heard of it? And I go, no, what swim run?
Deanne Ross: And so they told me and I said, oh my God, every day of my life, I run and then I swim. I can do that. And my favorite thing is hand paddles. And so as Andy, if you guys know who Andy is, he was there.
Viv: Amazing.
Deanne Ross: And as he loves to say, he said the next time he saw me.
Viv: Nice!
Deanne Ross: I had all the gear and I was ready to go. But I have to say, Philip was like my... My guide, I kept in touch with Phillip a lot.
Viv: Oh.
Deanne Ross: And my first race was Orcas Islands. And so Phillip... would come to my work and he would like help me with my hand paddles make sure that my Bowie was tied right.
Viv: That's so sweet.
Deanne Ross: He, like, made sure my... my wetsuit was fitting right and that I had all the gear. He was sending me all the links. And then he even taught me how to like go up the rocks the first time, run up the rocks, run in and around all Coronado.
Deanne Ross: So he was, he was like amazing. It was super cool. And just so I don't talk that long about myself here, but I've been doing this for 18 years where I've been running and swimming like five to six days a week.
Deanne Ross: And I didn't even, I couldn't believe it was like, Oh my God, there's sport just made for me how, and then I, people always yell at.
WILD ONEZ: It's perfect!
Deanne Ross: me at swim team, why do you always use hand paddles? Why do you always use hand paddles? Now there's a sport that you use hand paddles. Now I can yell at them, why aren't you using hand paddles?
Viv: Yes.
Deanne Ross: So that's my story. I love it. And I'm so grateful for Phillip and Andy.
Viv: That's incredible.
Andrea: That's so great.
Deanne Ross: And then guess who was the third person there who I didn't even know. We just realized it while we were in. While we're at Worlds. Who was it, Andrea?
Deanne Ross: Do you remember? It's the guy from the... From...
Viv: Was it?
Deanne Ross: well
Andrea: Oh, are you talking about one of the low tide boys?
Deanne Ross: Yeah, the low tide boys guy.
Andrea: Wasn't it one of them? Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Yeah, it was one of him was with them That's why they were there.
Viv: Nice. Oh, Chris or Chipper?
WILD ONEZ: What a great way to be introduced.
Deanne Ross: Chip. It was Chipper.
Viv: Nice.
WILD ONEZ: into swimrun with literal legends like
Andrea: I know, seriously. Right.
Deanne Ross: Isn't that amazing? I mean being at the right place at the right time.
WILD ONEZ: One of the low tide boys.
Viv: Who are you guys? Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Crazy.
Deanne Ross: So crazy.
WILD ONEZ: Incredible.
Deanne Ross: Yeah, I felt lucky.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: That's legendary.
WILD ONEZ: Very cool.
Viv: Oh my gosh.
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: Andrea, how did you find swimrun?
Andrea: So my story is way less glamorous than Deanna's, but...
Andrea: So I only start, I mean, I've always been an athlete my whole life, but I started running at like 40. And I was living up north and there's beautiful trails up north.
Viv: Oh yeah.
Andrea: And I was like, very quickly was like, I cannot run on the roads. I am going to lose my mind and signed up for a trail race. And I, my husband was like.
Andrea: oh my god every time we saw you you were smiling like and i was like i am home you know and yeah so i was doing that for a while and then when i moved to florida triathlon's really big here because we just have these huge expanses of open roads you know and i started doing that and then got into like a car accident and just biking became too painful for me and you know for years I had been listening to like the Rich Roll podcast and really following you know his story you know reading his books.
Viv: That's amazing.
Viv: Yeah.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: And I was just like. And, you know, he was talking about Swimrun on his podcast. I think he did it. maybe in 2018, something like that. And I thought it was a joke. Like, I thought he was joking because him and his, you know, his... like other guy that he has on the podcast, you know, they were kind of like making fun of each other.
Andrea: I'm like, I really couldn't tell if it was a real thing or not. And I started reading about it.
Deanne Ross: That is so funny.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: There was a girl that I had been running with and we were like, hey, let's like try this thing together. And we started at Lake James and like maybe 22, 2022 or.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: And I was like, oh my god, this is completely... This is my thing. Like, where has this been?
Viv: This is it.
Andrea: This is it. And I tried to recruit some of my triathlon friends and they were like, wait. Your shoes are wet?
Andrea: Wait. you're
Viv: Every time.
Andrea: They're like, They...
Viv: Every time. They're like, you swim with...
Deanne Ross: Every time.
Andrea: Like the wet shoes.
Viv: your shoes?
Deanne Ross: Yes.
Viv: I'm like, yes.
Andrea: Yes, the wet shoes. And they were like, but you get dirty. I'm like, OK, well, I'm clearly like not talking. to the right group here. So yeah, I just, you know, did some, we did some races together, you know, with my first partner.
Deanne Ross: Yes.
Andrea: I did some, I did some solo for a while and I was just like hooked. I was like, these are my people. They want to run around in the woods. They want to go swim in some water.
Andrea: They want to get like dirty. They want to like dig in and just like have an adventure. And there's like no looking back.
Deanne Ross: That's so awesome.
Andrea: Yeah. I think that's my story.
Viv: I, yeah.
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: Oh my gosh!
WILD ONEZ: Yeah, I love hearing like a swim run. coming to stories. It always happens so differently for people and it's always so fun and people are always so excited for it.
Andrea: mm -hmm
Andrea: Yeah.
Andrea: Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: Okay, so your buildup to Worlds this year, what did that look like for you guys?
Viv: How did you guys? decide to partner with each other.
Deanne Ross: Oh my gosh.
WILD ONEZ: great question yeah
Deanne Ross: Do you want me to sing it, Andreas?
Andrea: That's a funny story. Yeah, you tell the story. It's really, it's really.
Deanne Ross: This is hilarious because I love telling this story because.
Andrea: Yeah, tell it.
Deanne Ross: I... I get this message through Facebook or through Messenger and it says, hi, my name's Andrea and I met you at in Austin, Texas for a minute.
Deanne Ross: And I was just wondering.
Viv: So she slid into your Facebook DMs is what I'm hearing.
Deanne Ross: Totally, totally.
Andrea: Yeah. I did, yes.
Deanne Ross: and Yeah, and then she goes...
Andrea: It was just like minor stalking. It was just like minor.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: Just like...
Deanne Ross: Yeah, and then she goes, hey, you know, we were pretty close in time. Would you want to go to Worlds with me, the World Championships? And I go, I don't know what the World Championships is, but sure, I'll go.
Andrea: Yes.
Deanne Ross: that's basically what it was And then she's like, well, let me call you.
Deanne Ross: Yeah, let me call you and let's see if we can get along.
Andrea: It was awesome.
Deanne Ross: And I mean, of course, it was like amazing. So it was pretty cool that she reached out like that.
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: But I do have to say she tried a few more people before me.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: So and they said no, I was the dumb one that said yes.
Andrea: said they had other commitments they didn't yes no no no yeah
Viv: You're like, yeah. That sounds good.
Deanne Ross: There you go. Yeah. She saved the best for last.
Andrea: Yeah. Yeah. It's yeah. And we met up. I flew out to you.
Deanne Ross: Oh my gosh, we had the best time.
Andrea: in like May. I think that was May and we had so much fun. And then we.
Viv: Oh my gosh, amazing.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: We paired together at Orca's and then we paired together at Worlds.
Deanne Ross: Yeah. But really, we started our journey, I would say, in January because I remember.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Well, it was a year ago. right after Austin is when she reached out. But then we said, okay, we need a long training.
Andrea: Mm hmm.
Deanne Ross: And I remember telling Philip that I was going to do this. He's like, you got to start training right away. I came home from Hawaii.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: the first week in, January. And then I remember texting Andrea said, Hey, my training starts now, even though I train every day for swim run every day, but it, you know, it really started to, I really started just to focus in on the, world championship course.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: So, yeah, so it was all year.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: It was a very, very long, hard year. I have to say so.
Andrea: Yeah. I would second that.
Deanne Ross: very much so.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Yes. Yeah.
Deanne Ross: We worked hard.
Andrea: Yeah. I mean, I, you know, once we got that, like, congratulations email, I was like. Oh shit. Like.
Andrea: yeah it was it was like oh my god this is amazing and then very quickly the terror set in of you know i gotta really step it up like i had been using the
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: uh the training plans from nvol uh that were like race specific But I wasn't doing any kind of group coaching or one -on -one coaching. And I was like, I need to go to the source.
Andrea: I need to get a coach.
Deanne Ross: There you go.
Andrea: And I was really lucky that I got paired up with the coach I did, Nico.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: a lot of us know, and he's, I mean, he's amazing.
Viv: Oh. What a man.
Viv: We love Nico.
Andrea: He's the best. And he's so... He's just so kind. And he was so supportive and just kept telling me, no stress.
Viv: mm -hmm
Andrea: Don't worry about it. Don't worry. I think he had my number very quickly when I was like, well, what if I miss the, you know, I'm missing the workout. So I'm going to like triple up. He's like, no, you're not.
Viv: No, we don't do that.
Andrea: Yeah.
Andrea: We don't do that. So, no, he was he was wonderful. And yeah, I mean, it just I didn't even know what I didn't know, quite honestly. I had no idea.
Andrea: That my body could train at that volume and intensity that it did. this summer, which was so cool to keep.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: getting stronger and fitter but yeah it was it was i'm not gonna lie it was a long hot summer
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: It was a long, hot summer.
Viv: Yeah. Oh.
Viv: Oh my gosh.
Andrea: So.
Viv: There was no reprieve at all in the South.
Andrea: There is no.
Viv: It was just hot. And hot and hotter.
Andrea: It was just hot and humid and...
Deanne Ross: Yeah, even in San Diego we had that too. It was just awful.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: just sweating and sweating and then you still had to wear the wetsuit so it was like insane I know sometimes I wore just my bathing suit but that was not attractive running down the road in my bathing suit so
Andrea: Yeah. Yeah.
Deanne Ross: with the pull buoy hanging off.
Andrea: I'm sure a lot of people loved it, Deanne.
Deanne Ross: Oh my God, it was embarrassing.
Andrea: I'm sure you were a big hit in town.
Andrea: Running in your bathing suit.
Deanne Ross: Oh my gosh. Yeah.
Deanne Ross: funny
Andrea: Yeah. So, I mean, it was, it was. I'm grateful to have had as much guidance as I did. You know, I have to say like even going to camp in the spring was huge.
Andrea: I don't know if I'm like loud to talk about like all the other branded stuff.
Viv: Yes.
Andrea: Okay.
Viv: No, you are.
Andrea: All right. All right.
Viv: 100%. We are.
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: Because.
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: Because if you did something that worked for you, there's people that are listening that...
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: either have done swim run and are like oh that would be something fun to go to or like
Andrea: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Viv: No, we talk about every brand. We are unbranded here.
Andrea: Okay.
Viv: So let it fly.
Andrea: Okay, cool. Okay. Okay. Yeah, I went to the Utillo camp in Austin in, let me see, that must have been April or May. this year.
Andrea: Am I losing track of years?
Deanne Ross: April. It was for sure April.
Andrea: Is that April? Oh, that's right, because you couldn't go because you had a conflict.
Viv: April? Yeah, I think it was April, yeah.
Deanne Ross: Because I couldn't go.
Andrea: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Deanne Ross: I wanted to go.
Andrea: That was so much fun and I made so many friends and then now I get to see them like every month because there's a race every month and just
Viv: Yay!
Viv: This is so fun.
Andrea: it was so fun and it was so nice going to races and being every time you turned around you're like oh my gosh oh my gosh this one and then turning around and then i'm so happy to see you and how is your you know so i think having those connections
Andrea: early on. I don't know, it just really made me feel very comfortable and very... supportive. I mean, it's a super cool community. I never felt like anybody was wanting me to lose so that they could win.
Viv: Yeah.
Viv: That's really cool.
Andrea: You know. Yeah! Yeah, I feel really lucky to have done all those things.
WILD ONEZ: We love the swimrun community.
Andrea: So being in a group coaching setting, going to camp, all that good stuff.
Deanne Ross: But then I ended up meeting up with a guy, Brett, and he just became. my swim run partner. He was amazing.
Viv: Nice.
Deanne Ross: He would just, whatever you have to do, Deanna, I'm going to be there with you. I'm going to be there for you. And he actually became so fast.
Deanne Ross: But like one day we did like over an eight hour swim run all throughout San Diego.
Deanne Ross: You're talking every body of water possible.
Viv: Nice!
Deanne Ross: And it was just incredible. And he was along for the journey and it really helped me a lot. So it was pretty cool. I mean, I worked my butt off too.
WILD ONEZ: It's so fun to have swimrun buddies.
Deanne Ross: What's that?
Andrea: Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: It's so good to have swimrun buddies.
Deanne Ross: Oh my gosh.
Andrea: mm -hmm
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: Okay.
Andrea: Mm -hmm.
Deanne Ross: What's that one called? The rock one.
Viv: Rockman.
Deanne Ross: Walkman.
Viv: Rockman.
Deanne Ross: So he had done that one. So he hooked up with us cause he had seen my, live on or that were the takeover on Instagram that I did on O2, the USA.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: Oh that was cute, yeah.
Deanne Ross: So yeah, so he saw me and that hooked up with me. So then he was training with me as well. So we had a nice little group.
WILD ONEZ: so fun.
Deanne Ross: And then I have like. friends that swim and then friends that run. And so then I would do separate things with them.
Andrea: Right.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Yeah, I'm pretty lucky out here in San Diego to have so many people to train with. And then poor, lonely Andrea. Andrea's husband's like, she had to do this all by herself.
Andrea: I'll buy myself...
Viv: I, me too, girl.
Deanne Ross: It was so sad. I felt so bad.
Viv: Me too, girlfriend.
Andrea: Hmm.
Deanne Ross: I know.
Viv: Me too.
Andrea: It was tough. It was a lot of hours just with your own brain, you know?
Deanne Ross: Yeah. By yourself. Yeah.
Viv: Yeah. It built a good mental toughness, I will say.
Deanne Ross: Uh -huh.
Andrea: It really did.
Viv: Like, I don't...
Viv: Yeah.
Viv: It's a different level.
Andrea: I have to just kind of like put in a plug for also.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: One thing that I was so happy I did this year was in the WILD program. since we're a wild podcast here, is being a mentor this year.
Andrea: That was so much fun.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: I had such a good time connecting with the other women and actually meeting up with some of them. At races, I met up with one of the women at Casco this year, and she kind of comes off the boat and is like, Andrea?
Andrea: And I'm like, hey.
Andrea: So that was really cool to like.
Deanne Ross: That's so good.
Andrea: build that you know build that over you know, email and talking on the phone and then like meeting up in person. And, you know, she didn't she didn't know anybody there.
Andrea: And it was just it was just nice. I feel like there's so many ways to plug in in the sport that aren't always available in a lot of other sports. There's so many avenues.
Andrea: There's so many.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: You know, and everybody's like, hey, come on over, sit at our table, you know. So, cause it's all the cool kids.
Andrea: So come on over.
Deanne Ross: There you go.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: You know? So.
Viv: It's incredible, like, what you show up to a race.
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: I think, like, Sarah and I's first race was Orcas in 22, 21? 22. And we met Marcus and Beaks and then Tristan and Amy there.
Viv: And immediately they're like, all right, come here. And I was like. Where are we going? I don't know. I'm following them. Like they look like they know what they're doing and immediately just got.
Deanne Ross: Aw.
Viv: super connected and extremely lucky in the same way to just
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: seeing the same people, and it's like a big family reunion every single time you get together.
Andrea: Yeah. Yeah.
Andrea: I'd second that for sure.
Viv: I love that. So what races did y 'all do this year? You guys did orcas together. And then...
Deanne Ross: uh -huh
Andrea: We.
Viv: Andrea, I saw you at Casco too, right?
Andrea: We did I was at Casco, which I love that race.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: That, to me, just makes me so happy. That, I think, is my favorite race so far. And then I just signed up today.
Andrea: For Colorado, I was agonizing.
WILD ONEZ: Yay!
Deanne Ross: Aw, this is pretty terrible.
WILD ONEZ: Peace.
Andrea: I'm insane. I'm insane. I was agonizing over it back and forth. And, you know, people were reaching out to me and, you know, asked me and I'm like, oh, my gosh, but I have a conflict that weekend.
Andrea: Should I do it? Should I not?
Deanne Ross: What the hell?
Andrea: Every day I was like, yes, no, yes, no.
Deanne Ross: how long is that one how far like how long is the race
Andrea: And I was like. Peace.
Andrea: I think it's 23 and a half running and maybe... Five or six swimming? Does that sound right?
Deanne Ross: Oh okay.
Viv: It's a longer one.
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: Yeah, the swimming is a very heavy swim race, surprisingly, depending on the water level.
Andrea: Yeah.
Andrea: Yeah Mm hmm.
Viv: But yeah, my dad and I did that last year and he was like, I don't want to do it again because of the swimming. And I was like.
Deanne Ross: Aww.
Viv: Okay.
Andrea: Oh, by the By the way Viv, I saw your parents in the airport.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: So...
Andrea: And Stockholm on the way up.
Viv: Nice!
Andrea: They're so adorable.
Deanne Ross: Aw, that's so cute.
Viv: I, I'm very, I'm very...
WILD ONEZ: We love the Burroughs family.
Viv: I'm very lucky. They are.
Viv: They are great.
Andrea: They were so proud of you. Yes, they were. It was. And even. going through the airport in a random city in a random country you're like hello friends
WILD ONEZ: mm -hmm
Deanne Ross: Oh my gosh, that's so cute.
Andrea: All these people I met in the airport. It was great.
Deanne Ross: That's funny.
Andrea: Yeah, it was it was cool. Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: Okay, so let's get into...
Viv: Oh my gosh
WILD ONEZ: the race, the swim and roll championship race.
Andrea: The race.
Andrea: Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: I mean, I guess let's start at like the start line or the ferry ride over.
Viv: How did you guys feel waking up at 3 .30 in the morning to get on this boat with like...
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: 400 other people.
Deanne Ross: I mean...
Andrea: I don't know, it didn't feel much different than any other day.
Deanne Ross: I know I wake up, I wake up at 425 every day.
Andrea: I wake up so early.
Deanne Ross: So it was actually okay. But I did kind of feel I didn't really sleep that good.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: I have to say it.
Deanne Ross: I could hear Andrea was breathing. So I was a little bit jealous because you share a room with your partner.
Andrea: I was sleeping.
Deanne Ross: And I was like, Oh, great.
Viv: She's like, she's sleeping right now.
Deanne Ross: Here I am. I'm like yeah.
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: Bing!
Andrea: I know.
Deanne Ross: But then I guess in the morning I was sleeping because I didn't even know she left the room and she was so sweet and brought me back a coffee and stuff.
Viv: There you go.
Deanne Ross: So. Yeah. So that was cool.
Andrea: it's very important
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: Yes, that is essential.
Deanne Ross: So.
Andrea: The minute I open my eyes, I'm like, where is it?
Deanne Ross: Yes. Yep. Yeah, exactly.
Andrea: I need it.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: So that was good. But yeah, I mean, we, we packed up pretty, we had, of course we packed our stuff the night before.
Andrea: Yeah, so that wasn't too bad.
Deanne Ross: So everything was laid out.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: Smart.
Deanne Ross: So everything was exactly where we wanted it to be.
Andrea: Mm hmm.
Deanne Ross: So we got dressed without, you know, leaving anything that we should have left.
Viv: Nice.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: I mean, got dressed quickly and then went down for breakfast without any problems.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: So that was good and packed up and everything.
Viv: Nice.
Andrea: Yeah. The hotel was adorable too.
Deanne Ross: So. Oh my gosh.
Viv: Isn't it cool?
Deanne Ross: That was amazing.
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: It's like a conference center.
Deanne Ross: Oh, that was just yeah, it was so cool.
Viv: But... It's... it's the perfect start Four.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: The race.
Deanne Ross: Yeah, it was incredible.
Andrea: It was really comfortable, really cozy. You could actually open a window in there, which was so nice because we had so much gear in there.
Deanne Ross: That's right.
Andrea: It was nice to be able to open a window.
Deanne Ross: with our stinky shoes because you know one thing one thing we should talk about too is like that thursday before going to the course preview that speaking of essential you've i mean if you're doing that race you've got to go to that course preview that was huge that was yeah Uh -huh.
Andrea: And. I know.
Andrea: Oh yeah.
Andrea: Yeah. Yeah. Huge.
WILD ONEZ: I second that. Yeah.
Andrea: Mm -hmm
Deanne Ross: Yeah, it was.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: Yep.
Deanne Ross: Really, really well done.
Viv: force that.
Deanne Ross: It was such a fun day.
Deanne Ross: And then.
Andrea: It was fun.
Deanne Ross: Yeah. And then, yeah. That's when I started getting scared.
Andrea: And then we sat in the hot tub and sat in the sauna.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: Isn't that nice? Yeah
Andrea: It was so nice. And it was the perfect temperature.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: It was a beautiful day.
Deanne Ross: Yeah, it really was. Yeah.
Viv: Yeah, you guys got lucky out there.
Andrea: So.
Viv: It was perfect
Andrea: Are we dead?
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: We did. Yeah. And it was nice to just hang out and just like.
Deanne Ross: That's right. Thanks.
Andrea: I don't even know. Just... eat sandwiches and sit in a hot tub. It was great.
Deanne Ross: I know.
WILD ONEZ: And chill.
Deanne Ross: yeah
Andrea: Yeah. I definitely, that helped me feel so much more comfortable going in, at least knowing I had seen.
WILD ONEZ: Yeah.
Andrea: some of the terrain
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: Mm -hmm.
WILD ONEZ: and the water temperatures.
Deanne Ross: And it made me more scared, which was not good.
Andrea: Been in the water.
Andrea: Mm hmm.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: I was scared she was comfortable. She's a rock climber, though. I have to let everyone know.
Viv: Shit.
Deanne Ross: A very good rock climber. Yes.
Andrea: I don't know about very good, but I do rock climb.
Deanne Ross: I'm. Well, anything is better than me, yeah. And then the boat ride, we were talking about that, just even walking down the stairs with the little candles all lit.
Andrea: Oh yeah.
Viv: That's it.
Deanne Ross: I mean, how cool was that? I mean, it was just.
Andrea: That was...
Viv: That's it. It's a huge buildup.
Deanne Ross: That was super special. And we had already met people that we knew.
Andrea: Yes.
Viv: It's fun.
Deanne Ross: So getting onto the boat and sitting there, that was really fun.
Andrea: Mm -hmm.
Deanne Ross: And we were talking to some people from what country though they were from Sweden, right?
Andrea: That was.
Andrea: They were from Sweden, yeah.
Deanne Ross: And they were so sweet.
Andrea: mm -hmm
Deanne Ross: The one guy, his partner decided that morning that he wasn't going to do it after they've trained and everything. He said he had a sore throat. Andrea and I are like, well, I would have gone and made him go with me, but.
Deanne Ross: Poor guy didn't have to.
Andrea: I know.
Deanne Ross: didn't do the race.
Andrea: He was so calm about it. He was so like, it's okay.
Deanne Ross: Yeah. Yeah. And then the two girls that we met, he was telling us they should podium. And they sure did. I think they came in third, right? Was it third or second?
Andrea: Oh gosh.
WILD ONEZ: The Vermamas came in second.
Deanne Ross: Yeah, so we met some, you know, podium people for the women's.
Viv: Peace.
Andrea: Well,
Viv: The...
Andrea: It wasn't second.
WILD ONEZ: Yeah.
Andrea: We know who came in second.
Viv: Yeah!
WILD ONEZ: Oh, okay.
Deanne Ross: Oh yes.
WILD ONEZ: It was a different team. Got it.
Deanne Ross: Yes, yes, yes. Okay. Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: Nice.
Deanne Ross: So third, that's right.
Viv: We all love River Mamas.
WILD ONEZ: We do obviously.
Andrea: We do love the Vermamos.
Deanne Ross: Yes.
WILD ONEZ: I will build them up any chance I can.
Deanne Ross: That's for sure.
Viv: They were like, oh, Mary Cooper woman, yes!
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Seriously.
WILD ONEZ: Let's go!
Deanne Ross: Aww. Yeah.
Andrea: They're something. They are a force.
Deanne Ross: Really, they are.
WILD ONEZ: They are it's incredible to see
Deanne Ross: So fun. Yeah.
Viv: And they're just great people, too, in general.
Andrea: Yeah, agreed.
Deanne Ross: Absolutely.
WILD ONEZ: And.
Viv: They're huge promoters of the sport.
WILD ONEZ: Mums.
Deanne Ross: Right.
Viv: badass mamas, like, I'm like...
WILD ONEZ: Managing tiny humans.
Viv: Literally, I want to be them when I grow up. I'm like, oh, I'm just not like. Have a tiny human army, right?
Deanne Ross: I know, right? Oh, seriously.
WILD ONEZ: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Uh huh. For sure.
Andrea: Yep.
Viv: We're in the corral. How are you guys feeling right before? Because there's music buildup. There's everything. You're feeling the energy. How are you guys feeling there? Where you guys shouldn't be your pants. Wait, first off. Did you guys get a good pre -race poop?
Deanne Ross: Can you hear me? Sorry, my phone rang.
Andrea: That all checked out.
Viv: All right, again.
Andrea: We had to.
Deanne Ross: Can you hear me now?
Andrea: Oh!
Viv: Yes.
Deanne Ross: Sorry.
Viv: Okay. Question.
Andrea: That's funny. She wants to know if you pooped, Deanne, before the race.
Deanne Ross: Oh.
Andrea: laughter
Deanne Ross: Wait, she wanted to know what? What?
Andrea: If you pooped before the race.
Deanne Ross: I think I, Oh no, I did. Remember I, we were looking for Curtis.
Andrea: Yes, I do remember.
Deanne Ross: oh my god my husband was staying at the hotel on san ham and We couldn't find him at first. I was like, where is he? So I used some stranger's phone to call him.
Deanne Ross: And I'm like, you've got to get us into your room. He lost his room key. Some girl goes, oh my gosh, you can use my room. And I was so embarrassed because I really had to go. And so, yes.
Deanne Ross: And so I used some stranger's room. It was so embarrassing.
Andrea: It was actually perfect timing because she had just opened your door and you were like halfway in the door before she even answered the question.
Andrea: Like you were going in.
Andrea: You're going in! But she was very cool about it.
Deanne Ross: Really, I mean. You don't get there.
Andrea: She was with the race. She didn't care.
Deanne Ross: Yeah. And you don't get there that early to like. you know, look around for a bathroom or like take your time. We didn't have time. I felt like it was like kind of rush, rush. So.
Andrea: Yeah, it was really funny
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: That's amazing.
Viv: Ironically, this is the earliest I think we've gotten there. So.
Deanne Ross: Is it really?
Viv: Because usually it's like 15 minutes before.
Andrea: Yeah, it was.
Deanne Ross: Wow. I was like.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: Mm -hmm.
Viv: We had a whole 30 minutes.
Deanne Ross: All right. both.
Viv: I was like. What do I do with myself?
WILD ONEZ: Oh wow.
Deanne Ross: That's funny. Yeah.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: No, I felt calm at the beginning
Viv: Oh that's good.
Andrea: I don't know, I just... Yeah, I felt pretty calm at the beginning too.
Deanne Ross: Did you? we were both i felt i feel like we were both confident and calm
Viv: Nice.
Deanne Ross: so
Viv: Nice. Okay. How did that first swim go for you guys?
Viv: Because you run on the island we're all together and then it's a free -for -all
Deanne Ross: Well...
Andrea: Right.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: Right.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: And then, I mean, it was, we ran pretty fast. I think we had like a nine minute pace.
Viv: Nice!
Deanne Ross: And then Andrea, you started, you started the lead. You led it.
Andrea: Yep.
Deanne Ross: And then.
Andrea: Yep.
Deanne Ross: There were a lot of people kind of around us, so then I... pastor and I went around her and then I had a really good swim, probably too good of a swim.
Deanne Ross: Cause I do remember when we got to the land, you said to me, wow, Deanne, that was incredible. Do you remember saying that?
Andrea: Mm -hmm Yeah, I do.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Deanne Ross: And it was a good strong swim.
Viv: Heck yeah!
Andrea: Yeah. Yeah.
Deanne Ross: And then from there it went downhill for me, but that's okay.
Andrea: mm -hmm
Viv: Nice.
Deanne Ross: So.
Andrea: That's not true.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: Okay, because...
Andrea: I disagree
Viv: You got it.
Deanne Ross: So.
Viv: You got a good swim.
Deanne Ross: Yeah, we got a great swim.
Andrea: We had a good time.
Deanne Ross: And then right away I was like.
Viv: Because that's that's one of the hardest harder ones too because it is it is on paper the longest one And you have everybody on top of you.
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: Like, I smack somebody every year.
Deanne Ross: that and
Viv: I'm like, good.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: Fine!
Deanne Ross: And you know what? We actually didn't have that. We had people around us, but it was pretty mellow.
Viv: Nice!
Deanne Ross: And I remember when we got on land, I was so worried for six months about the slippery rocks.
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: Good. Okay.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: And I got on the rocks and I remember just saying to Andrea, oh my gosh, it's not even slippery. Like there was nothing slippery about it. So I was like, okay, Deanne, it can go a little bit faster.
Viv: Yay.
Deanne Ross: I mean, Andrea just like flew across those rocks like. Unbelievable. And here I am, like.
Viv: Little rock hopper.
Deanne Ross: Yeah. I'm like, wow.
Viv: You're like, I'm coming.
Deanne Ross: Yeah, I know. I'm like, even though it felt fast for me, but whatever. So that was.
Viv: That's awesome
WILD ONEZ: Did you guys?
Deanne Ross: Yeah. Mm hmm.
WILD ONEZ: Did you guys see any jellyfish in that first swim?
Deanne Ross: Oh, everywhere.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: They were beautiful.
Deanne Ross: I can. I kept thinking these poor jellyfish, they're thinking that we're invading their territory.
Andrea: I love that.
Deanne Ross: I almost felt sorry for them. There were so many of them. They had to have been scared.
Andrea: There you go.
WILD ONEZ: I'm glad you guys got to enjoy that.
Deanne Ross: Amen.
Andrea: I loved it.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: I loved seeing them.
WILD ONEZ: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Yeah, I did too.
Andrea: I thought it was so peaceful. Only because they don't sting.
Andrea: If they stung, it would have been...
WILD ONEZ: Yeah.
Viv: Yeah, no, if they...
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: Yeah, different story, but I thought it was just so peaceful.
Viv: Different story.
WILD ONEZ: Different story for both of us, but.
Deanne Ross: Yeah, I remember, like... I remember swimming and saying to myself, because. I tried to take everything. And I remember thinking, Deanne, you're swimming in the Baltic sea.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Deanne, remember this moment you're in the Baltic sea.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: And I just remember saying that to myself over and over. Cause it was like, I got to remember this feeling.
Andrea: Mm hmm.
Viv: That's awesome.
Deanne Ross: It was beautiful.
WILD ONEZ: That's what...
Viv: Absolutely.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: It was just so beautiful.
Andrea: The water is fantastic.
Deanne Ross: I love that.
Andrea: It felt like swimming in a big lake to me. It didn't feel very oceany. I think because it wasn't overly, you know, saline.
Viv: Yeah.
Viv: It's the salinity is very, very, very, very low.
Andrea: Yeah, it really felt just like a big lake with... Little fluffy jellyfish just...
Deanne Ross: Water waves. Thank you. Right.
Andrea: floating by.
Deanne Ross: Come on.
WILD ONEZ: That's amazing.
Andrea: Even when it was like got choppier as it went, it still felt like. Like I like this.
Deanne Ross: Thank you.
Viv: is nice.
Andrea: I still enjoyed it. Yeah.
Deanne Ross: I enjoyed it too.
WILD ONEZ: Yeah.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: I have to say, I mean, swimming, I feel like is both of our kind of favorites like that too, though.
Andrea: Yeah.
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: But I just as the swims went on, I just felt like it was taking us so long to get across the water, much longer than I anticipated. I just felt like it was pushing us backwards. I'm like.
Andrea: Mm hmm.
Viv: But yes, it was.
Deanne Ross: This is a bear.
Viv: Actively moving. Everybody backwards. Maybe not Hugo and Adriel, but... Everybody else, it was moving us backwards.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: Everybody else.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: It was just crazy.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: I didn't like that.
Andrea: Amen.
Deanne Ross: That bummed me out. so
Viv: Yeah. The swims were definitely tougher this year.
Deanne Ross: And. I felt like Andrea, we did such a good job getting out of the water too.
Deanne Ross: Like I felt like we really never.
Viv: Nice! You guys had some good transitions.
Deanne Ross: Yeah, I mean...
Andrea: I think so yeah.
Deanne Ross: We never had a problem getting out.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: It seemed like not really any slippage, slipping or anything. I mean, I felt strong getting out.
Andrea: yeah I felt pretty good
Deanne Ross: Even strong getting out.
Andrea: mm -hmm
Deanne Ross: I do know that if you want to skip ahead to when we had to scale down the rope, there were a couple other teams around us, but Andrea owning a rock climbing gym, she's like, okay, Deanne, you just get around these people and you just grab the rope and you just go down.
Viv: That's awesome.
Viv: Huh.
Deanne Ross: And she was like down and I was still at the top and I'm like, oh my God, I got to do what she did. And I like went down that rope and I was like, what? wow, I did such a good job because of Andrea, my super here.
Deanne Ross: It was pretty cool.
WILD ONEZ: It is fun.
WILD ONEZ: That's one of my favorite parts.
Viv: You're like, thank you.
Deanne Ross: Yeah, exactly
Andrea: It was like, just do this. It was so funny the way everybody talks about that rope.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: I thought it was going to be like. 50 feet long. I'm like, that rope was like.
Deanne Ross: That's funny.
Andrea: 10 feet long? I don't even know. I thought it was gonna be this huge thing down, like, rappelling.
Andrea: it was gonna be this
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: you know, rappel down the side of a thing.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: And I'm like, So here we are. But.
Deanne Ross: Oh my gosh, that's so funny.
Andrea: That was fun. Yeah that was funny.
Deanne Ross: Yeah, but... It was funny. But then you go down, but then you're still on all kinds of rocks that you have to get.
Viv: That's incredible. Oh, yeah, no, it's a whole mess down there.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: And then you still have to go to the water or whatever.
Andrea: Mm hmm.
Andrea: mm -hmm
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: Oh my gosh.
Viv: Okay. So how is your guys's feeling for the day? like gel, all that stuff.
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: Like what what work like what worked for you guys?
Deanne Ross: We did like it.
Andrea: I'm...
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: Like we're, well, I mean, I think we're both precision fuel and hydration all the way.
Deanne Ross: With some love.
Viv: Okay.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Yeah, I did.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: I did it even a little more often.
Andrea: Did you know?
Viv: Force. Force feed, yeah.
Andrea: Yeah. Mm hmm.
Deanne Ross: Yeah. I probably didn't eat enough, though. I have to say food, food. I definitely did enough.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: goose i was on and then my i have was having a water bottle problem as a matter of fact i even chipped my front tooth i think
Andrea: Oh yeah! I forgot about that.
Deanne Ross: Yeah. Yeah, but I got new teeth. See, they look pretty good now.
Andrea: They look beautiful.
Deanne Ross: Yeah. Tipped my tooth from my water bottle.
Viv: They look good. You can't even tell.
Deanne Ross: Yeah. So... I just had a problem with my water bottle.
Andrea: was on your water bottle that you chipped in her
Deanne Ross: I do. I think for sure.
Deanne Ross: In retrospect, I think I was clamping down because, you know, I was scared on rocks and I was like, you know, and then, yeah.
Andrea: Oh. All right.
Viv: It's done.
Deanne Ross: So.
Andrea: Oh my gosh.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: Wow.
Deanne Ross: Kind of a.
Viv: Beware everybody, you could chip your tooth on your flask.
Andrea: Yeah. Yes. Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Yeah, exactly.
Andrea: We did The one thing that I was... I mean, I knew it was going to be a thing, but I wasn't like. 100 % prepared for the weight of carrying.
Andrea: 30, 25 gels.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Aye. You and I never talked about that.
Andrea: In...
WILD ONEZ: It's insane
Deanne Ross: I thought the same thing.
Andrea: Yes. I was like.
WILD ONEZ: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: You know, I handed the pack to my husband, like, and I was like, this is going in my wetsuit. And he was like, This is... I'm like, no, this is literally.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: It's like 10 pounds.
Deanne Ross: Yeah. Excuse me.
Viv: You're like, no. Yeah.
Andrea: Yeah!
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: And I felt like it was, I had it at my chest and I felt like I couldn't breathe sometimes when I was running because it was so.
Andrea: Yeah.
Andrea: Mhm.
Andrea: Oh. Mm -hmm.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: Yes, yeah.
Deanne Ross: And then my water there too. Even though we practice, I guess I never practiced with that much.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: put this on the charger, but yeah.
Viv: It's something you don't think about. Yeah, no, it's...
Andrea: Yeah, that's...
Andrea: Very heavy.
Deanne Ross: Yeah. So if anyone's doing this race practice with. 30. I'm not kidding. It's just, I've practiced with food before.
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: That's good advice. Yeah.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: Really good advice.
Andrea: Mm hmm.
Deanne Ross: Practice with the exact amount of goo so you know exactly where they fit.
WILD ONEZ: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Like I put some up my leg, but they don't always stay. So then, yeah.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: So but I used to I would when I would. in San Diego, I would practice with more food. And I didn't have any food Billy to bring with me, which was kind of, I should have.
Viv: Mm.
Deanne Ross: done that differently but I didn't, so.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: No, that's...
Viv: Very solid tips.
Viv: Nice.
Andrea: Oh, for the cutoff.
Deanne Ross: Yeah, for the first cutoff, we were there 15 minutes early, so I thought we were going to be okay.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: Mm hmm.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: And then everyone said, no, that doesn't mean a thing. get your butt moving.
Viv: No, yeah, it's yeah
Deanne Ross: And I couldn't, my legs wouldn't move anymore. I'm like, I'm, I'm a runner for what, 18 years. And my legs were just kind of like, they wouldn't go. It was the worst thing ever.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: even though I trained and trained and trained.
Viv: Like, my brain was in it.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: That's quite the opposite of what my head is telling me. So I, you're not, you're not.
Deanne Ross: You know, I had that heard.
Viv: Not alone in that.
Andrea: mm -hmm
Deanne Ross: You know, and I do have to say some of the runs, it was my bright idea. Shoot, my phone is dying. It was saying. Huh. Hold on one sec.
Viv: Cha -choo!
Deanne Ross: So weird. Okay. Anyway, so I, I'm done. was like, oh, you know what? Let's untether for some of the runs. So I'm not like right on top of you because Andrea generally leads or whatever on the runs.
Deanne Ross: And, you know, it is too bad that we did that because she could have pulled me more when I was dying. So I do think that was one of our mistakes. If anyone wants to take anything away from that.
Viv: Yeah, that's smart
Deanne Ross: When one person is really dying, get tethered and stay.
Andrea: mm -hmm
Deanne Ross: I mean, she was pretty cool about staying right next to me, but it's just too bad because she was. you know gung -ho the whole way and Didn't have any. She had it going on the whole time.
Deanne Ross: So I was jealous. No.
Deanne Ross: You know.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: so Yeah.
Andrea: I mean, it was nice to be racing a place that was like 30 degrees cooler than where I train.
WILD ONEZ: I mean...
Viv: Right?
WILD ONEZ: that will
Andrea: I'm not gonna lie, that was a huge...
Viv: Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: That will help.
Viv: This is nice That was nice. I could just stay there all day.
Andrea: that was a huge boost yeah Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Yeah. I agree with you.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: I do.
WILD ONEZ: It's really hard though.
Deanne Ross: I should have.
WILD ONEZ: because you never
Deanne Ross: i should have but i see i still get hot i also wish that i would have taken my sleeves off sooner
Viv: Oh, the sleeves. Yeah.
Deanne Ross: I wish I would have taken my cap off sooner.
Viv: Mmm.
Deanne Ross: So I do get hot even when it's cold when I run.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: I mean, I did the Boston Marathon and I was in shorts and a tank top and I was still hot when it was like 30 degrees. So I just heat up. But.
Andrea: Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: Yeah, that's fair.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: And the archipelago has a mind of its own also. You really don't know what you're getting into until you're in it.
Andrea: Mm hmm.
WILD ONEZ: And then when you're in it, you can only do so much.
Deanne Ross: Mm hmm.
WILD ONEZ: And I think experience in the archipelago goes a really, really long ways over any amount of time.
Andrea: Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: Like. Training back at home like running on the rocks and knowing what it's like to swim and like those waves and every year is different, too So like.
Deanne Ross: uh -huh
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: Yeah.
Viv: Like last year, it was.
WILD ONEZ: experience this year was different
Viv: Perfect. It was so smooth.
WILD ONEZ: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Why couldn't we have done it last year?
Viv: I was like, this is awesome. Oh my gosh, amazing. And then this year, we had a Sarah year. 2024 was waves. And Sarah and Anna were flying over the waves.
Viv: And they're like, oh, my gosh.
Viv: Like, we never wished that for you. And then this year I was like, well, you guys didn't wish hard enough.
Andrea: You got it.
WILD ONEZ: You guys had a lot of headwind though this year that just kind of kept getting worse and worse and worse.
Deanne Ross: Wow.
Andrea: Mm hmm. Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: I really feel like some of the swims took people like.
Andrea: Mm hmm.
WILD ONEZ: almost twice as long as like they probably would have with normal conditions.
Andrea: Mmm.
Viv: Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: And so I think that's where a lot of like the time. comes from if you're looking at it from like a cut off in time perspective and there was like
Andrea: Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: not really a lot of ways that you could know that ahead of time on paper. Because your swim times were just so different than mine.
Deanne Ross: mm -hmm
Deanne Ross: I know. And then I was even like looking at that with the running.
WILD ONEZ: what you were prepared for.
Deanne Ross: I'm like, yeah, I could have maybe been more on point and run faster and stuff. But even so, I mean, I couldn't have run a seven minute mile or even an eight minute mile. But our swims were so much longer than what I even anticipated for them to be because I felt like it was just pushing us back.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Even though we had solid swims, they still took longer. You could just see the amount of time that it took for, say, a 500, you know.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Salam.
WILD ONEZ: Yeah, and the energy that your body is taking to do those swims is also taking just like so much more energy.
Deanne Ross: That's what made it tough.
Deanne Ross: Uh huh.
Deanne Ross: Right.
Viv: Mm hmm.
WILD ONEZ: than it would have normally.
Andrea: Mm hmm.
WILD ONEZ: how do you know
Deanne Ross: Mm hmm.
WILD ONEZ: like when you really need to push so so so hard to make a cut off versus being smart about your energy in the beginning of a race because you still have a really long day ahead of you and
Deanne Ross: I know.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: My God, and I kept thinking that too. I'm like, Andrew's running so fast. How are we going to do this the rest of the time? She was spot on.
WILD ONEZ: It's a tricky balance.
Deanne Ross: We should have done it.
Viv: It is, yeah.
WILD ONEZ: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Bummer.
Viv: No, but so...
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: For everybody who doesn't know... You guys did not make the 11 .15 cutoff to continue your race day.
Andrea: Right.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: Right.
WILD ONEZ: mm -hmm
Andrea: Mm -hmm.
Viv: No matter how many times I've done this race my third year back, It still feels like the longest time.
Deanne Ross: Oh, it was the longest one.
Viv: just running there.
Deanne Ross: It was unbelievable.
Viv: Yeah, you're like, we're not there yet.
Andrea: Mm hmm.
Deanne Ross: Thank you.
Viv: How are we not there yet?
Deanne Ross: And we missed it by eight minutes.
Andrea: And we were running hard.
Viv: So...
Andrea: Two.
Deanne Ross: Eight minutes. That would have been our first swim, our first or second swim.
Andrea: Wait.
Deanne Ross: Like if we would have just, yeah.
Viv: That's crazy.
Deanne Ross: Just small.
Viv: Yeah. No, it's wild.
Deanne Ross: I cried like a baby when they said you're eight minutes over.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: I remember looking at my watch going, it's 1115.
Viv: You're like, are you sure?
Deanne Ross: I know. I just lost it.
Andrea: You know what? That's funny. I didn't even look and see how far we were over. I just I couldn't look at it.
Deanne Ross: It was.
Andrea: I just knew it wasn't. And I just.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: Never looked.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: Okay, I know you guys were like... Did you guys have snacks at the aid station did you at least feed yourself? Because there were some good snacks at that one.
Deanne Ross: Oh, yeah. Well, and on the boat.
Andrea: really remember
Deanne Ross: on the boat ride back i believe
Andrea: Oh, and the boat. Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: There you go.
Deanne Ross: And it was interesting because Andrea and I get along so well, but. We had two different personalities at the end. You know, we've never been through anything like this.
Viv: Yeah. Oh, it definitely happens. Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Andrea was angry. I would say like upset. And I was, I couldn't stop crying, crying.
Andrea: I was really, I was.
Deanne Ross: So you have like two different like things going on.
Andrea: Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: it's devastating yeah
Deanne Ross: And it was like.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: both of us you know one year we're looking at oh my god one year of this and here we are eight minutes over we know we could have done it i can't believe this happened to us it was so heartbreaking
Andrea: Mm -hmm.
Deanne Ross: It was.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: I mean the heartbreak is unbelievable.
Andrea: Mm hmm.
WILD ONEZ: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: I told them I was saying I cried. Once I got home, I cried until Sunday night. And then I told myself, okay, after Sunday, I'm no longer going to cry and I'm going to get up on Monday and I'm going to be okay. Cause it was, I mean, it was like. It was tough. Yeah.
Deanne Ross: It was really disappointing.
WILD ONEZ: It's really...
Andrea: Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: Really devastating, yeah.
Deanne Ross: I put my heart and soul into it. I mean, some days I didn't even work, you know, that's how much time you put into it. So.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: That's pretty incredible.
Andrea: Yeah, that was really hard. I was really sad, really disappointed. I wasn't mad at anyone. I was just. Like.
Andrea: Alright, what?
Viv: you're just like what what just happened kind of thing yeah because it's it's a it's a lot of just like all right we're going going going And you're like, wait, we're stopping.
Andrea: Yeah. What just happened? What just happened?
Andrea: It's a lot. Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: It feels like a big loss and to be completely fine physically and to get there and to know that you can still go.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: You're like that.
Andrea: Yeah.
Andrea: Mm hmm.
WILD ONEZ: And keep moving.
Deanne Ross: That was hard.
Andrea: Yeah. Yeah, it was, it was, I think I was telling Deanne this a few days ago that I'm like massively underestimated the highs and lows and the emotional like.
Deanne Ross: I know. Yeah.
Viv: Absolutely.
Andrea: Cost.
Viv: Yeah.
WILD ONEZ: Oh yeah.
Deanne Ross: Amen.
Andrea: You know, it's fine.
Viv: Yeah, whatever happens.
Andrea: And I was like.
Viv: Happens, happens.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: Yeah. And I was like, oh, I'm not I'm not fine.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: So, you know, it it really kind of made me.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: reevaluate like This race? is not just... This sport isn't just... that one day. And I...
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: Think I had been thinking for so long about that one day.
Deanne Ross: Yes.
Andrea: Right? Because it's, you know, you're...
Deanne Ross: Mm hmm.
Andrea: just, you just work so hard to get there.
Viv: It's a huge culmination, yeah.
Andrea: Right. And I was like, am I doing this for like success? Like, you know, quote, or am I doing this for like.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: experience. And I had to think about that for a long time. And I was like, what do I... I don't mean to be like going on about this, but I just I just had all these thoughts.
Viv: No!
Deanne Ross: Oh, this is beautiful.
WILD ONEZ: Please do.
Viv: Take it!
WILD ONEZ: It's great.
Andrea: OK, OK.
Viv: No!
Andrea: I just.
Viv: This is why we have a podcast.
Andrea: Okay.
Andrea: This is, yeah, the long form. I was thinking about like what. what is important to me about this?
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: Like, what, why am I doing this? Like, like, what do I value? I guess. And I was thinking like, Adventure. Yeah. I mean, adventure.
Viv: absolutely you guys definitely had a day out there yeah
Andrea: All the time.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: We had an adventure. We were like out in nature. That's super important.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: We were out in nature. We were with all the nature, all the, you know, all the critters.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: Everything.
Andrea: Oh, everything. It's like the people, the community, like. Totally, yes. you know, like the week before hanging out in the hotel at every single meal with everybody was so fun getting to like, you know, you knew that if dinner was at 6pm.
Deanne Ross: Oh that was amazing. uh -huh
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Thank you so much.
Andrea: All the racers were going to show up at six zero zero because we were like ready to eat. And it was awesome. And like, you know, travel like, yes, all these races are in the most beautiful locations.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: And like. And even like what I was thinking about with the... like giving, giving back and like doing the mentor thing. I'm like, these are all the things that are so important to me. It felt so, it made me like reevaluate everything thinking like.
Andrea: I put so much emphasis on one day. out of this whole sport and i was like no the other 300 and you know 55 days. that I get to like be involved in it. That's really.
Andrea: That's like the juice, you know? So these are all like my thoughts that have been swirling around in my head for like the last couple of weeks. Because.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: I knew I couldn't just sit in that like sadness and that like disappointment. I was like, I have to find. what keeps me going every day. When you're like, oh, Nika put eight hours on my schedule and it's a thousand degrees.
Andrea: You're like, whoa.
Deanne Ross: No.
Viv: So it's exactly what I wanted to do.
Andrea: What are you doing? you know and or just you know oh it's a you know
Andrea: Dad. guys know, I mean, you know.
Deanne Ross: You know what? That's so beautiful though. What a partner I have there. That's, I mean, that's just so sweet.
Andrea: Oh, thank you.
Deanne Ross: I mean, for me.
Andrea: It took a while to get there.
Deanne Ross: I was.
Deanne Ross: I was so disappointed in myself. As an athlete, because I've done so many races my whole life. And I'm like, oh, my God, I just had my first DNF.
Deanne Ross: Like, it was really hard for me.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Mentally, physically, I was still ready to go physically.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: And I was just so just and I really, really, really felt like I. I. failed my partner I mean that I failed Andrea because I mean she would have had another Andrea as strong as her it would have been fine but we didn't have it that day and it was just I felt like such a loser I have to say I still feel like a loser but I'm gonna
Viv: Yeah, it's... Thank you.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: You're not. I do not think you're a loser at all.
Deanne Ross: I'm working on that every day. I'm like. It's just...
Andrea: No.
Deanne Ross: It was rough.
Viv: You guys, but you guys also finished without... Any... Injury either.
Andrea: Right.
Deanne Ross: Oh, I know Yeah.
Viv: You guys are able. to sign up for Colorado. You are able to sign up for a road race or a swim race.
Deanne Ross: Thank you.
Andrea: Mm hmm.
Viv: And do it. without thinking like, oh... Like, I still have this lingering thing for morals and all this stuff, too.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: mm -hmm
Deanne Ross: and you know what we're old too we're not like young like you girls so yeah I mean we're in our 50s so
Viv: Yeah, it's it Well, but also it kind of...
Andrea: we're pretty old
Deanne Ross: It's pretty incredible.
Viv: To train and push your guys' bodies.
Deanne Ross: Mm -hmm.
Viv: Like. Just like you were saying earlier, both of you.
Deanne Ross: Sounds good.
Deanne Ross: Yeah. Mm -hmm.
Viv: The fact that you guys have done it and done it so well and gracefully.
Deanne Ross: What?
Viv: is incredible to see.
Deanne Ross: I'm... I remember telling Andrea at the beginning, I'm like, you know, when I do marathon training, sometimes I get hurt. Just so you know, like, I'm a little bit nervous. And I mean, I was doing like 65 miles a week of running.
Deanne Ross: And then I was doing like 18 ,000 yards a week of swimming.
Deanne Ross: I did that for months. And like, I never got hurt. I had one little shoulder thing, but we decided that it was. What did we go? Phantom, Phantom pain the week before that.
Andrea: Like, yeah, like...
Deanne Ross: That was my, I like, I'm like, oh my God, I can't swim. My shoulder's broken.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: I have this horrible pain.
Viv: We're not naming it. Yeah.
Deanne Ross: So, yeah, phantom panes are a real thing, though, I swear.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: But I also thought, gosh, good thing that we did go to that Thursday.
Andrea: Yep.
Deanne Ross: course preview because we did you know we got so we got I mean, almost half the course. We did almost 17 miles of the course. And then we did the last five islands on the course preview.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: So we basically only missed the middle one. So that's what I keep telling myself.
Andrea: Oh I never thought of it like that.
Viv: You didn't, you guys didn't even miss that much.
Viv: Those ones really suck. So you guys got the fun, you guys got the...
Deanne Ross: Okay, good.
Viv: You guys got the fun part of the race.
Deanne Ross: There you go.
Andrea: Yeah, we skip that just like...
Andrea: 12 miles on Uto or whatever that is right there.
Deanne Ross: 30 Joe.
Viv: Yeah, you don't you definitely didn't need that that's where I saw Jesus so it's okay
Deanne Ross: Yeah, that was perfect. Yeah. us.
Andrea: mm -hmm
Deanne Ross: Yeah. Totally. So. Yeah. What a year though. Yeah.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: And you ladies are amazing. And I'm very fortunate that Andrea reached out to me.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: So... Yeah, pretty cool.
Andrea: Yeah, we had a good time.
Deanne Ross: Mm -hmm.
Andrea: We had a good time.
Deanne Ross: Yeah, and all I could think of was, oh my God, I got a good friend out of this.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: How cool is that?
Deanne Ross: So, yeah.
Andrea: Right?
Deanne Ross: Totally. Somebody that I would have never known before.
Andrea: I know.
Andrea: That's right.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: That's right. We were actually getting dressed at the same table at Austin, like before that race, and we didn't even realize it.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: Like we were like our paths had been crossing, but we didn't even know it.
Deanne Ross: Isn't that funny? Yeah, her husband was with her and my husband was with me. And I think neither one of us really knew very many people at that point a year ago.
Andrea: Yeah.
Andrea: No, I don't think so.
Deanne Ross: So we're just kind of talking to our husbands and I asked to borrow their glide and okay, thank you. And then that was about it. Amen. Yeah, we were within two minutes of each other in that race to go.
Andrea: Yeah. Mm hmm. Yeah.
Deanne Ross: So that was pretty cool.
Viv: Wow.
Andrea: Mm hmm.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: It's so it's so fun what a year can do because like Again.
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: Same here. I got a new a new friend out of this race as well. And it's just it's incredible to see just.
Deanne Ross: Oh, I know, right?
Viv: Hey, you know what? You know how to swim run. I know how to swim run. Cool, let's do this together kind of thing.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: But that's what it boils down to. And it's just even more incredible when you find somebody who...
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: is just... about having just as much fun as you. So that's. incredible that you guys were able to do that.
Deanne Ross: All right.
Andrea: I thought you were going to say who's just as like absolutely insane as you are.
Deanne Ross: Yeah, totally
Andrea: And I was like, well, That's true too.
Viv: that.
WILD ONEZ: That too.
Viv: That too. That too. We all know. We're each other's...
Andrea: That's true.
Viv: Same crazy. Otherwise we would not be doing this sport.
Deanne Ross: You know what?
Andrea: Yep.
Andrea: Yep.
Deanne Ross: What month was that? Do you remember? It was before?
Andrea: It was like May.
Deanne Ross: But you don't think it was before camp? You think it was after camp? I thought it was earlier than that.
Andrea: Oh, shoot. I don't know.
Deanne Ross: I...
Andrea: I don't remember.
Deanne Ross: I think it was before camp. And I just remember, okay.
Andrea: Maybe.
Deanne Ross: Cause it was only like a few months we had known each other and we decided she was going to come out and visit. And like, when I was picking her up at the airport, I'm like, you don't know if I'm like a serial killer or something. And here you are coming to stay with me at my house.
Deanne Ross: Like, you don't know anything about me really, except that I swim and I run. And then it was just like, we got along so good.
Andrea: Yeah. Yeah.
Deanne Ross: And like, I'm like, okay, now we're going to get up at four 30 tomorrow and we're going to start running. Okay. Deanne, whatever you want. And then she jumped in the trail runs with me. We went out to the bay and it was just like.
Viv: Amazing.
Andrea: It was fun. That was such a fun weekend.
Deanne Ross: I'm like, wow, I found somebody totally nuts like me. And like, she didn't think anything of it.
Andrea: Yep.
Deanne Ross: That was the cool part. I'm like, oh my God, I just found somebody that just jumps right in with me.
Andrea: Yep.
Andrea: I had a few people at home that were like, wait.
Deanne Ross: I love that.
Andrea: how do you know this person and you're flying across the country and staying in this person's home.
Andrea: I was like, oh, I was like, oh, is that weird?
Deanne Ross: Yep.
Andrea: I was like, should I have thought about this a little harder?
Andrea: And I was like, I'm sure it's fine.
Deanne Ross: Yep.
Viv: It's fine. Somebody - She's got my location, it's fine.
Andrea: It's fine. It's fine.
Deanne Ross: Exactly.
Andrea: It's mine.
Deanne Ross: Oh, my God. It was so.
Andrea: I was totally fine.
Deanne Ross: I remember thinking that so clearly. I'm like, wow, she's like. Yeah. So.
Viv: She's all in. We're good.
Deanne Ross: Yeah, fall in.
Andrea: Yeah, I am all in.
Deanne Ross: Exactly.
Andrea: That is the truth.
Deanne Ross: So cool. Yep.
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: Oh, man.
Deanne Ross: you know
Viv: Well, it sounds like we need to have a training weekend in California is what I'm hearing.
Andrea: Oh.
Deanne Ross: Oh my gosh, you have to come. We'll get the guys to come.
Andrea: It's so so beautiful
Viv: I can't wait.
Deanne Ross: It's so fun. it's super fun yeah just so much fun so yeah let me know when you all want to come out Yeah.
Viv: Oh, say less.
Viv: I'll take a California adventure.
Andrea: Right.
Deanne Ross: Yes. Definitely.
Andrea: Yeah. I would love to have like, you know, like a swim run weekend at my house in Florida too.
WILD ONEZ: It sounds amazing.
Deanne Ross: I know that I would love to also.
Andrea: Because who...
Deanne Ross: come on Yeah.
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: families in Florida.
Andrea: It would be so much fun because like. You guys are all like, wow, it's still winter. And I'm like. at the bit. You know?
Viv: Yeah Literally, literally.
Deanne Ross: Oh my gosh.
Andrea: like yeah nobody's like thinking it's so great you know, from like May till November, but like November to like April, everyone's like, so, are you going to be around that weekend?
Deanne Ross: Done.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: Need a break from the snow.
Deanne Ross: So funny.
Andrea: Yeah. Is anyone coming down? Yeah. Good stuff. Yep. And now it's like I have all these crazy friends that are like, sure, we'll come to your house.
Deanne Ross: Awesome.
Deanne Ross: That's so funny.
WILD ONEZ: It's great.
Andrea: you know I know
WILD ONEZ: you get plugged into the swimrun community and It's a bunch of crazies.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: That's great. Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: That's all I need to know.
WILD ONEZ: It's great.
Andrea: Yep. It is.
WILD ONEZ: Awesome. Well, okay, we're gonna wrap things up here soon. What piece of advice would you guys have for like another woman starting a new sport or swim run or just trying something new in general.
Deanne Ross: Find somebody that's really good at it, that likes to mentor you and help you along. I think that's just so important. Just kind of like how... my friend brett like he's not a girl but you know he He got really interested and then I was able to help him and now he's like 10 times faster than me and stuff.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: But it just made it so nice because then that person can also become your partner at some point too.
Andrea: Yeah, I really believe in like joining groups like. Joining running club, joining like a training group, you know, going to like the group workouts, going to camp, just getting in with other people.
Viv: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: 100%.
Andrea: Because this is the kind of sport like nobody, first off, even knows what this sport is.
Deanne Ross: Welcome.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: And nobody... And...
Viv: Oh yeah.
Andrea: You don't even know what you don't even know. Like there's a million things.
Deanne Ross: Right.
Andrea: Like, what do you mean you like? stick gels in the front of your shirt in a kangaroo tie like what is that is Clearly that's a made up thing, you know, like it just.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: Yeah.
Andrea: You don't even know what you don't know. So just like get with your people and like ask them all the questions because my experience has been that we will tell you everything.
Andrea: We'll tell you too much.
Deanne Ross: Yeah. Within the first five minutes.
Viv: Yes.
Deanne Ross: We love telling you.
Andrea: That's, yeah. Just...
Deanne Ross: Runners love to talk about running. Swimmers love to talk about swimming. And then swimrunners, oh boy, it's on.
Andrea: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Viv: Oh, yeah. No, it is.
Andrea: Okay.
Viv: It's funny. I don't hold back on my Strava reports. This morning I saw some friends. Or was it yesterday? I don't know what day we're on. But I saw some friends that are like, oh, Vivian, like we know about like your own like little colon activity because you put on your Strava that you pooped.
Andrea: Oh. Oh Vivian.
Viv: I was like, I did. I had to go.
Deanne Ross: That's so funny.
Viv: Listen, I don't know. I'm gonna... I'm like, hey, I had to cut my run short because my colon was acting up.
Andrea: Oh, my God.
Viv: And I'm like, Vivian, we're so proud of you.
Andrea: That's awesome.
Viv: I'm like, listen, hey, we got to talk about like the TMI and the awkward because.
Andrea: We got to normalize this stuff, people.
Viv: That's just who Exactly.
Andrea: This is just the way it is.
Viv: I'm like. Bodies happen and we swim run.
Andrea: Studies happen.
Viv: Nobody, nobody cares. Like it's, it's either runners that are like, Oh my gosh.
Andrea: Nobody cares.
Deanne Ross: Yep.
Viv: Or swimmers are like, Oh my gosh. But again, some runners, we don't care.
Deanne Ross: Yeah. Totally. That's perfect.
Andrea: True story.
Deanne Ross: Yep.
Viv: Yeah. Oh my gosh.
Andrea: What more can we say after that?
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: Right?
Andrea: Maybe that's it.
Viv: This is usually how every podcast episode ends.
Deanne Ross: That's funny. I love it.
Andrea: That's awesome.
Andrea: Oh man, I needed to laugh like this tonight.
Deanne Ross: it's reality
Deanne Ross: Right? There you go.
Andrea: I love it. I love it.
Viv: Well, I absolutely adore both of you. And I'm so glad that like...
Andrea: Thank you. This was such a treat.
Deanne Ross: It really was.
Viv: We've crossed paths.
Deanne Ross: Thank you for having us. I mean, I was so excited when you invited us. Yeah, just awesome.
Andrea: Yeah.
Deanne Ross: Really nice.
Andrea: For sure. I agree. You guys are great.
Deanne Ross: And I love you, Andrea.
Deanne Ross: You're the best.
Andrea: Love you. It was so fun to hang out with all of you guys in Sweden.
Deanne Ross: Yes.
Deanne Ross: I know it really was.
Andrea: It was like, what did I mean?
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Andrea: Like. How can I just even say that? Oh, so cool to hang out with you guys in Sweden. Like, this is just what I do.
Deanne Ross: I know. Right.
Viv: is casual.
Andrea: Just hang out in Sweden.
Deanne Ross: Oh, and I fell in love with Sweden. Could it be more of a beautiful country and the people?
Andrea: Yeah.
Viv: It's amazing, right?
Andrea: Yeah.
Andrea: So beautiful.
Deanne Ross: Amazing.
Viv: I know. I really need to find a Swedish husband who has a summer house out there and just be like, hey, so we're going?
Deanne Ross: Oh! Great idea.
Viv: Right?
Andrea: That sounds that's Keep us updated.
Deanne Ross: Yep.
Deanne Ross: Yeah.
Viv: This is going to be for all of our benefits.
Andrea: Taking one for the team. Thank you, Viv.
Deanne Ross: There you go.
Deanne Ross: Yeah. Thanks you guys.
WILD ONEZ: Amazing.
Viv: Moe.
