JD: am Pretty steady to be fair, pretty controlled. um Just another day office really. Boy shot up well, defended well, um played well, created some chances.
Global Sports Podcast Network: yeah
JD: Again, just smooth, really, really smooth.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah, no, absolutely. And Craig, I mean, you look at tonight's win and for me, I mean, I just thought it was probably pretty much as we were against Burnley. I mean, what did you think of the performance?
Craig matthews : ah great Great performance yet again. um Consistency, kept another clean sheet. When I saw the VAR review for the penalty that was considered against last, I knew it wasn't a penalty. I knew that when got the ball, so I wasn't worried.
Craig matthews : said it blew for penalty. I said, no, they're not going to give the penalty. So I wasn't worried. So it was a good game. Everyone had minutes tonight. Like, Waniere got minutes. um

Craig matthews : Ezra got in minutes. So he rotated the squad today, as we predicted yesterday. So, yeah.
Global Sports Podcast Network: No, absolutely. and And Rodney, your thoughts on the game?
Rodney Gooden: Yeah, yeah. Again, echo boys. Echo the points of the boys as well. Solid performance. I thought, yeah, little chaotic in the first part because, of course, they came at us, but we defended well, got into the game as well. And again, it was really also nice to see a lot of that squad rotation too. lot players getting minutes. And yeah, again, lovely little clean sheet and a three. Well, and again, going forward with the lads. So not really much to criticise with that one. Yeah, professional, solid, staple performance, as we've come to expect from our club.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah, absolutely. I mean, at the end of the day, it was it was a pretty good performance. You know, everyone everyone impressed. But Sparta did, you know, Sparta did kind of knock on the door a little bit in the first half.
Rodney Gooden: Yeah, yeah. it was that opening section of the game. I thought, yeah, they came at us and you could tell with some of our clearances as well. Usually we're a bit more composed on that ball as well. We'll make sure that we kind of beat the press or kind of play it from the back.
Rodney Gooden: That point, you saw a lot of the early Arsenal clearances just kicking the ball out of danger straight to another kind of Prague player.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah. Yeah.
Rodney Gooden: And then the attack begins again. Naturally, they still couldn't break us down and still couldn't get past us. But that's what I meant about us being a bit more chaotic in that earlier section. They were coming at us. But then ultimately, you saw that we kind of relaxed into the game.
Rodney Gooden: And there was a couple of times in that late first half early into the second half where we were playing that lovely little ticky tack and stuff, which kind of beat the press and kind of almost got them on the break on the transition as well. So, yeah, really kind of grew into that game.
Rodney Gooden: And it was quite nice to watch.
Global Sports Podcast Network: No, absolutely. want to talk about maybe the first minute of the game because I went on to the group chat and I'll read out what I wrote on on the group chat, which is i went on there and it was probably what?
JD: Yeah. yeah
Global Sports Podcast Network: The very first minute of the game. And my point was, and I put really questioning Arsenal's defence. Are you sure our defenders are secretly not strikers?
Global Sports Podcast Network: Goodness me, Craig. I mean... Gabriel. Jeez,
Craig matthews : And the quality strike is just an inch wide.
Rodney Gooden: Yeah.
Craig matthews : It wasn't that far away from the body though.
Rodney Gooden: Yeah, yeah, it wasn't far off.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah.
JD: Yes.
Craig matthews : wasn't very far off. Yeah, man.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Do we, are we, are we seeing maybe, you know, are our defenders kind of maybe, have they got some sort of hidden talent, JD, that we're just not aware of?
JD: Well, you know, probably when they'll put it younger. think everybody wanted to play out front, so they'll probably play out front in the youth levels. um But no, we need them at the back there. That's their job, and they're doing a tremendous job there. So let's just not get carried away. I know we need a stride car, but, you know, I'm not gonna add to lie to you. What Arteta's kind of shown over the years is that you build a team from the back and you can see he's built this team from the back.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah. Yeah. True.
Rodney Gooden: Yeah.
JD: I remember those days, I said it before on the pods, you know, um we we always linked with a left back or a defender or centre back.
Rodney Gooden: Hmm.
JD: And I'm thinking, why don't we get a strike? Why don't we not get another thats sort of backup for sack off?
Global Sports Podcast Network: yeah
JD: ah Why don't we get another, you know, but now you can kind of see it like defensively. I think whoever you put in there is pretty much like for like. So now to answer your question, to leave by Gabriel, that man needed to stay at the back, man.
Craig matthews : Wow.
JD: Just do what it did. Yeah.
Global Sports Podcast Network: No, I totally get you. But I think that first strike there from Gabriel, it really did show that we're not here to mess about. And the fact that we, you know, we kind of stamped our mark quite early on in the game, didn't we guys?
Global Sports Podcast Network: And, you know, from there, it was, you know, would you say it was just plain sailing from there on in?
Rodney Gooden: Yeah.
JD: Yeah.
Craig matthews : I think after we got the first goal, we were playing Sele after that.
Rodney Gooden: Yeah,
JD: No.
Craig matthews : They had chances as well, they had a couple of shots here and there.
JD: yeah
Rodney Gooden: yeah.
Craig matthews : So, once we got the first goal, Calum and Leves a bit quiet down there, they're noisy fans, making loads of noise.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah. Yeah.
Craig matthews : So, once we did that, they kind of got rattled as well. Their full striker got a bit rattled as well. Players here and there wanted to fight Team Papier. at one stage Gabriel had to get involved to kind of calm, cool it down a bit.
Craig matthews : So he was getting a bit, yeah, but we, you know, you go there, do professional performance as we did today and won the game. So that's the most important thing on Captain Kinnysheek.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah, no, absolutely. You're spot on there. JD, for you, want to ask, any players that that stood out to you in particular?
JD: Probably Mourinho, think, for the second half, really. probably Again, Rice, again, top top performance, again. Arguably could have been man in the match as well.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah.
JD: I think those two, I think everyone else, they didn't stand out. I think everyone stood out in general, but I think Mourinho and probably right. but Even with Mourinho's first goal, I think it was poor defending, really.
JD: you two The two centre-backs, they gave him so much space.
Rodney Gooden: Hmm.
JD: He literally had an open head on. I was just like, what what is this? If you're going to see goals like that, it's a bit, you know what mean?
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah.
JD: um
Rodney Gooden: Hmm.
JD: But yeah, I think i think Rice, again, he bossed it once again. Overall, everyone ever did really well. You know, everyone did really well. i don't I can't really name someone who really stood out, but I praise him really, because he won the match. He won the two goals.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Fair enough. Fair enough. Rodney, how about you? you you know was there was there any you know Did you have a standout player or players from from tonight's game?
Rodney Gooden: Yeah, I go JD's point like, Mourinho obviously looked good. I thought Damo was quite good at drawing quite a few key fouls, you know, as well when he came on.

JD: Yeah.
Rodney Gooden: So he looked good. Also record breaker. You know, he's officially the youngest player to ever play in a competition as of today.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yes.
Rodney Gooden: yeah, that was nice.
Craig matthews : Thank you.
Rodney Gooden: But I a standout for me, actually thought Gabriel had quite some solid moments today as well defensively.
JD: Yeah.
Rodney Gooden: Do you remember the whipped cross into the box, which is coming straight to the Draikers feet? And then, of course, Gabriel just snuffed that out immediately.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah.
Rodney Gooden: I thought that was pretty solid.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah.
Rodney Gooden: That in addition to stopping Hinn-Cappier from potentially getting carded too, I said it was nice to see the leadership on the pitch there as well. When he kind of intervened and Metzli got everyone to calm down, I thought, yeah, you know what? When it comes to the sportsmanship, yeah, kind of head in the game, you know, I thought, yeah, that was pretty solid.
Rodney Gooden: In addition to almost scoring scrimer in the fourth minute. And of course, with that defensive performance I just talked about too, I thought Gabriel had a pretty decent game.
Global Sports Podcast Network: No, absolutely. I think Gabriel, for me, stood out. But I think I couldn't really put my finger on a player that really stood out.
Rodney Gooden: Yeah.
Global Sports Podcast Network: I think everyone done their job.
Rodney Gooden: Yeah.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Everyone did what they needed to do. I mean, Craig, what about you? Did you have anyone in particular? Or was that just...
Craig matthews : I know you guys think I hate Micka and Marina. I don't hate the guy, I think we had a great game today. I think Micka and Marina have a great game today.
Global Sports Podcast Network: No, no, no, no, no. We're not. No, I'm not saying you hate him. It's just the fact that you just don't like seeing him and Rice play together.
Rodney Gooden: You just don't like the combination.
Global Sports Podcast Network: That's what it is.
Craig matthews : He scored two goals, led the line well.
JD: It is very safe.
Craig matthews : Saka looked injured today. I don't know if anyone saw it.
Global Sports Podcast Network: You did mention on the GC about that.
Rodney Gooden: Yeah.
Craig matthews : He didn't look himself at all. He went down a couple of times holding his leg and he still played on the whole night.
Rodney Gooden: Yeah.
Craig matthews : He wasn't sure if he was injured or not.
Rodney Gooden: Yeah. He took that shocking free kick as well.

Rodney Gooden: um Yeah, yeah. That was unlike him, to be honest. Yeah.
Global Sports Podcast Network: No, absolutely. I was not expecting that. And Craig, to go on your point on Saka, do you think maybe this could have been a game? I'm going to open this up to all three of you, actually.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Do you think this is a game where Saka could have been rested?
Craig matthews : um Yeah, but that but there's no option, that's only a problem. I don't think he wouldn't start.
Rodney Gooden: No.
JD: Yeah, no options.
Rodney Gooden: No.
Craig matthews : There's no option. You can't start 15-year-old kid against Stavio Prague.
Rodney Gooden: Yeah.
Craig matthews : I know he's still untested and young.

Craig matthews : They want to risk him too early. needs to be bedded into the team slowly. If Madhu Waker was fit, he'd start Madhu Waker in this game. That's the type of game he'd start Madhu Waker

Craig matthews : Or if Martinelli was fit, he'd start Martinelli on the right or something.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah. I mean, we've seen Martinelli play on the right before and it's worked before in the past and I don't see why it wouldn't have worked tonight if he was fit and available. Rodney, JD, do you agree with Craig?
Rodney Gooden: Yeah, absolutely. I think if Maduweke was there, Martinelli's there as an option too. When Yeri was already being used up the pitch as was, so I said you've not got really a lot replacements to sort of rest Saka.

Rodney Gooden: Jesus can also play out there the right wing, still injured too, so you've got lack of options. Saka's got to play, and so there you go. Would have been a lovely opportunity to rest him if we had the personnel, but boys, I mean, we've got the depth now, but the injury crisis is still no joke, right?

Global Sports Podcast Network: No, you're absolutely spot on there. And again, you know, let's talk about our depth. Are we now really being tested here with Arsenal squad depth now? Because, you know, we look at the injuries up front that we've got.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Obviously, you know, again, talk about, you know, Jesus, Havertz, Odegaard, Madweke, Mbappé. to name a few others. You know, we now starting to see Arsenal's depth being put to the test now?
Rodney Gooden: yeah
JD: Yeah, yeah, I think so.
Craig matthews : Yeah.
JD: I think so.
Rodney Gooden: and we We had Mikel Moreno playing striker today, of course.
JD: I think...
Rodney Gooden: This is what I'm saying.
JD: in Yeah, yeah.
Rodney Gooden: And yes, he did bag two, but he is not a striker and he's playing in a nine position. I said, yeah, depth is being tested because we've not got first choices for any of these positions right now. So, yeah, starting to really have a think about.
Rodney Gooden: I think we've got players that can do a job now. But if we get one or two more before the rest of them start to come back, we might be in a bit of pinch as the schedule starts to ramp up.
JD: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean...
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah, absolutely. JD, I was going to say, what what were going to say in in echo of that?
Craig matthews : Thank you.
JD: No, just um kind of what Rodri was saying. I think we're really getting pushed as as as much as we can, but we're handling it really well. We can't afford any more injuries. We can't afford to get Rice get injured or Saka getting injured or, you know, not even getting Ray getting injured, you know.
JD: I mean, we haven't got a backup goalkeeper, you know what I mean?
Rodney Gooden: Yeah, that's true.

Rodney Gooden: but

JD: So, I mean, it's...
Global Sports Podcast Network: but but You know, again, i could have i could have you know brought Kepa into the mix as well, but it's like, i ah it just yeah.
JD: No, it's one of those ones where if r literally if Rhea gets injured, who goes and goes?

Global Sports Podcast Network: And welcome back to this second part of this Champions League review, joined by JD, Craig Matthews and Rodney Goodham. Guys, let's let's discuss about the goals and let's let's discuss about the first goal. I mean, first goal, penalty, scored by Saka.
Global Sports Podcast Network: I mean, were you guys before the penalty? Because obviously it was scored... about just over half an hour into the game, were you were you guys concerned at all that, you know, we we hadn't scored a little bit earlier? Or were you think were you thinking, oh, you know, we could, you know, we'd we'd probably score before half-time and go in with a bit of a lead?
Rodney Gooden: I don't know if I was really concerned, you know, I just know that game's 90 minutes, you know, there's plenty of times to kind of break teams down. I thought, I didn't think the first goal would come from a pen though, you know, that was it, but I wasn't getting too worried.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Hmm.
Rodney Gooden: I think usually it's either going to be goal before the first, end of the first half or again, maybe early into the second, which is where the second goal actually did come from. But I wouldn't say I was nervous, but I said, yeah, it was nice because I thought that
Global Sports Podcast Network: yeah Yeah, absolutely.
Rodney Gooden: We calmed down a bit after that one too. I told you before about how, yeah, defensively, yeah, it looked not necessarily shaky, but a bit rushed with some of the clearances too. And I thought scoring that first goal just took the pressure off and you can see the team relax into it. So I was happy to see it come when it did, but I wasn't, you know, ever unsure that it was coming.
Global Sports Podcast Network: No. And, you know, JD, Craig, again, did you, you know, did you think we... You know, we might go into this game 0-0 at half-time. Did you think we'd bag a goal before the break?
JD: I didn't think would score before the break. um I wasn't worried. I thought we would eventually get the goal. um But I didn't see it coming from penalty. I didn't i' see that at all. and But I knew google there' one thing about this Arsenal team, they find a way to unlock the door.
JD: you know I think we're seeing that now.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yes.
JD: Even if it's a set piece or it's late winner goal, they find a way. So I was coming to work and was going to find a way. But yeah, i didn't i didn't really see a penalty. It was a penalty to my my eyes.
JD: But yeah, didn't really ka
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah, no, absolutely. Craig, you know, with the penalty, did you did you think that was a Stonewall penalty?
Craig matthews : Yeah, he put his arm in the air, so it's a penalty. The ball hit his arm. Not playing basketball, because it's playing football now.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah.
JD: Thank you.
Rodney Gooden: Oh, man.
Craig matthews : only your goalkeeper. So, yeah, it's a blatant penalty. But think we were going to score before that anyway. We would have scored even if we didn't hit the penalty. I wasn't worried, so, yeah.
Global Sports Podcast Network: No, absolutely. And I think, you know, seeing Saka score as well, I think it was just good that we stamped our authority. We stamped our authority in the first half. There argument there.
Global Sports Podcast Network: But it was just good to get that goal before half-time because I could had a feeling we were going score... You know, we had our chances here and there, but I just thought, hmm, are we going to get lucky? Are we not? I don't know. But then eventually, thank goodness, we managed to, you know, we managed to break the deadlock. um And again, going back to Saka, do you think with Saka, you know, again, good penalty?
Global Sports Podcast Network: Do you think now this might continue to boost his confidence?
Rodney Gooden: I don't know if Saka's ever really lacked that kind of confidence this season, you know?
JD: Yeah, agree.
Rodney Gooden: That's what I mean. He's taking shots, taking them early too, you know? I said he doesn't seem to be lacking that. But I do feel that if it's about him hitting form, then I go, this can only be a positive. More minutes, more goals under his belt as well.
Rodney Gooden: I said that can only help him grow and perform as a player. So, yeah, we're happy to see it. I love that he's trusted to come in there and take up the spot too, you know? This is it. You think after Euros and other kind of pens that he's missed as well, you know, you wonder if that ever kind of knocks the confidence of a player as well.
Rodney Gooden: You think about the Paneca, You know, all the failed attempts against Real Madrid too. But I said, he's never shy of taking a spot kick.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Oh, gosh, yeah.
Rodney Gooden: And that's what you love to see as a player. You score, you miss, whatever. But said, yeah, never lack the confidence. And I said, I always see that with the kid going forward.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah, no, absolutely. I mean, Craig, again, know, with that penalty, you know, there was so much discussion when we'd signed Jokeres that, you know, Jokeres would be the one taking the penalties from now on. But it seems like Saka's still got that responsibility in a way, hasn't he?
Craig matthews : Well, he's the captain at the he's the vice-captain, so I think he gets first choice, I guess. If he's the vice-captain or captain, he gets first choice to take the penalty or not. So was thinking, even if Godkard was playing tonight, don't think he would have taken the penalty anyway. I think Sattel's the main guy.
Craig matthews : I think until he misses the penalty, then he'll take it often, but don't think he's going to miss anyway, so it's done quite well.
Rodney Gooden: yeah
Craig matthews : think he's only missed one penalty for us, obviously that was against West Ham. I think he's only missed one. want two penalties. West Ham and Real Madrid last season.
Rodney Gooden: Liverpool, right?
Craig matthews : Liverpool?

Rodney Gooden: Yeah, for Saka.

Rodney Gooden: Wasn't it last season or the season before?

Rodney Gooden: But here's the thing. When it comes to Jokka, I thought Jokka was the kind of penalty taker for this one. I thought it was a surprise when Saka stepped up to go take that pen. And I thought when he did a couple of games back, I thought it was only because that was his 200th game in the Prem.
Rodney Gooden: And then after that, it would be Victor would step up and take it.

Rodney Gooden: And I thought if you see Saka taking it today, it's because Victor's not fit for the game.
JD: Yeah.
Craig matthews : Mm.
Rodney Gooden: But we'll have to see next pen we get when both of them are playing.

Because again, you know, we've echoed it fairly earlier on in the show, but Mikel Marino, I mean, kind of, actually remember sitting here And I remember saying to I need to see the Mikel Moreno for Spain. I need to see that kind of level for Arsenal.

JD: You know what I mean? The two centre-backs are so far, they left a massive gap and he literally just walked into the space.

Craig matthews : It's going to be massive test for us.
Rodney Gooden: Yeah.
Craig matthews : Massive, massive test for us. Like the Real Madrid game last time, everyone written us off and said going to beat Real Madrid home and away. And we shocked everyone in in football. We beat them. um Both legs.
Craig matthews : This game is going be a different type of game because we played them many times before. I think our record against them is very poor.

Craig matthews : I've only beaten them once, I think, and that was a dead rubber game when we already lost the first leg. So we couldn't win the fight anyway. oh It's going to be a hard game, but I feel that if we can defend well, hopefully get more of our injured players fit, then I fancy we can give them a good game.
Global Sports Podcast Network: JD, you said something to me off air, actually, about the Arsenal buying game. Do you want to elaborate a little bit? what you said to me?
JD: yeah Yeah, it's kind of what Craig said, you know, it would be a good test for us defensively as well. um

JD: They're a tough team, they've got talent across the pitch. um Yeah, I mean, i think these are the sort of games now that will really test us to show what we're really about. I know a couple of seasons ago ago we faced them the Champions League and I think we kind of crumbled under pressure a little bit.
JD: I think it was our first year back in the Champions League for how long? um And we just didn't cope with it well.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah.
JD: I think now we've got squad there. Hopefully everyone's fit. and That's the one thing we need. We need we need to win new players. Hopefully everyone's fit. It'll be interesting to see how they cope with the pressure because I don't think Bayern's going to... If we keep making... we We made a few mistakes tonight and we made a few mistakes in the Brighton game.
JD: Not so much in the Burnley game, but we do you know make a few mistakes, I think they will they will punish us.

JD: It'll be interesting to see if we do go go down, how do we cope from that? Because you know what I would like to see is this Arsenal team, day no matter what, you know we always are there you know they're fighting for for folks to know to get a result.
JD: And I think we're slowly starting to see that.

JD: So I think this game will be a big test for us.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah, absolutely. I mean, resilience will be will be huge, if anything, um when it comes to Bayern. And Rodney, again, like JD mentioned about being resilient, you know we you know, we've got into this consistent basis now where, you know, we we're keeping clean sheets in our games.
Global Sports Podcast Network: How do we try and nullify and how do we also try and hopefully, if we if we get the likes of Odegaard and Madweke back and, and ah you know, and and so on, How do we try and also make sure that we can give them enough minutes out on the pitch? Because bearing in mind, when we come back from the international break, we'd only have Tottenham before then having Bayern Munich.
Rodney Gooden: Yeah, it'll be a difficult one as well. You probably want to see that North London and derby be a little bit of some time to bring some of those injured players back up to fitness, you know, see if they are willing to kind of play at that high capacity and see we kind of have them ready for that Bayern game too.
Rodney Gooden: I think we've got a lot of quality from our bench too, which will counter some of the quality of players that you have from Bayern. And I think, yeah, it's definitely going to be an all hands on deck kind of situation if we're going to kind of bring that game to them. In terms of resilience,
Rodney Gooden: I think I'm not worried about us going, say, a goal down against Bayern as well. I think after the Newcastle game, I've seen that this is an Arsenal team that can come back, you know, from losing a game and and kind of turning it around too. So I feel that if we've got the personnel and we manage kind of slowly wean them back to fitness from training and then maybe demoing them the North London Derby, we'll have the personnel necessary to hopefully, again, get some type of result out of Bayern on that game on the 26th.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah, absolutely. i said it, I think I might have said it to you, JD, before Craig and Rodney jumped on. um And we, we all, you also said it as well, but players we need to really be aware of.

JD: for me For me personally, I don't mind VAR getting involved and asking the ref. For me, is why is the ref taking so long to look at it? I understand in live time, from a different angle, it might look like he fouled him. I understand that.
JD: But when you see the replay, it's very clear.

JD: There's no contact. So what are you looking at for so long?

JD: I kind of worry about referees, you know.
Rodney Gooden: Yeah.
JD: That's the part. It's like, do they not know their job properly? they not know what foul is or not? I get in live time, we can all make mistakes.
Rodney Gooden: Hmm.
JD: You know, I mean, we've all played football. When you're somewhere in the corner, you see someone get fouled. It was like a foul here. And then someone across the corner, it wasn't foul. It was a coming together or whatever it was.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
JD: But your smart term you know, I understand that. But my God, if they're still if they've got the technology and they're still getting it wrong, I mean, it's it's a bit worrying.
Global Sports Podcast Network: I mean, that's what I find really embarrassing is the fact that, like you just said there, JD, the fact that we have the technology, but yet if it's taking forever to make decisions, what more assistance do you need?
Global Sports Podcast Network: I don't really understand it. And the thing is, right, A lot of people forget that VAR have all these different angles they could use, but yet the obsession is always with two different angles.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Have you not realised that?
JD: Yeah, yeah, I have.
Craig matthews : Mm-hmm.
Rodney Gooden: Ah, if... I mean, look, if it was up to me personally, I'd rather they take considerable amount of time, but they come to the correct decision, you know, and you have to add that time on.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah.
Rodney Gooden: I understand that it's frustrating for the players and the fans. The players need to stay warm, you know, to avoid injury. The fans get tired of it as well. Adds on a bunch of extra time to the game. There's more time for players to get injured. Added time on. I get it. But,
Rodney Gooden: I'd rather this happen than the controversy with the Liverpool disallowed goal a couple of seasons back as well, where decisions made very quickly and you've now bricked, you've ruined the game because you've made the wrong decision.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah.
Rodney Gooden: You can't take it back. And now it's a huge controversy.
JD: laughter laughter
Rodney Gooden: PGMOL doing apologies after the game, but you can't get back the points.

Rodney Gooden: Like, let's not have that. Right.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah.
Rodney Gooden: So, look, take your five minutes, take your six minutes, watch it from eight different angles. Just make the correct decision. I'm fine with that.
Global Sports Podcast Network: No, of course. Of course. No, I completely get that. I completely get that.
JD: I don't, but the thing is though, for me, right, I don't understand. Like VAR, they're literally in a studio to make, get the decisions right.
Rodney Gooden: hmm that's true
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah.
JD: So this is the only job they've had to do all night for the afternoon, right? So why are they asking the referee, oh, well, you we're not not really sure yet. Well, you should have a look at it. you you got listen You can see from every angle.
Global Sports Podcast Network: Yeah, it's true.
JD: The ref can just see it on that monitor. You can see it every angle. If you can't make a decision, you've done no work all night. I could do their job. I'm going to apply for that job.
JD: Because it just doesn't do anything. ah What do they do? They just sit there and then if it doesn't get a decision there, they're just sitting there just watching the game. know what mean?

JD: They get to watch football.
