Personal Reflections and Travels

00:04:13
Speaker
Well, I'll tell you.
00:04:14
Speaker
It was my birthday. Started out as my birthday. So I came back home to the D.C. area, hit up Virginia, got to see all of my friends, my birthday weekend, all of my friends from back home.
00:04:27
Speaker
We got together a nice, awesome weekend, the whole weekend long. Shout out to all my 703 boys and girls. And then after that, as I mentioned, you know, Omar got his groove back, a.k.a. Stella.
00:04:41
Speaker
I hit Costa Rica for a little trip. ah And let me tell you, it wasn't so little, may I say. It was the trip of a lifetime, one of the best, if not best trip I've ever taken in my whole entire life.
00:04:56
Speaker
um Well, no, I can't say that. Celtics game one in the finals last year with my dad. would probably be the best trip ever. Just, I mean, you can't beat the finals of game one in the Boston Garden when the Celtics win the title.
00:05:09
Speaker
Okay, so this would be the second best. And that I'm not including trips that are like going back to Puerto Rico to see family. That doesn't count. That's always beautiful. I'm going there next Thursday. So I'll be back home in Puerto Rico to see all of the family, all the grandmothers, uncles, aunts, cousins, so on and so forth.
00:05:25
Speaker
But before we even got to that, Costa Rica was amazing. If you have never been, you should check it out. It is quite like Puerto Rico, I must say, though. When I got there, I was like, damn, um this is very, very similar to Puerto Rico. And we went around all around the island.
00:05:43
Speaker
And yeah, it was, I mean, it's a little bit more of a, I don't want to say poor, maybe less resourced. I mean, poor is ah probably the best word. I mean, Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States.
00:05:55
Speaker
Not that the United States supports Puerto Rico like their territory. That's another story for another day. That's for a mind of the professor in the future. actually was talking with someone with my mom yesterday and they were like, well, isn't Puerto Rico a U.S. territory? Why do you stop? You know, you all have all these problems with the electricity. and I just looked at him. was like,
00:06:15
Speaker
Mmm, anyways another topic for another day. But Costa Rica is very similar climate temperature wise to Puerto Rico and it was an amazing time went down there Just got my whole life back together beach sun the beautiful ladies the wonderful food the beautiful ladies ah The wonderful drinks, the beautiful ladies.
00:06:41
Speaker
I don't know if I can keep saying that enough, um but let's just say it was amazing and it has ah hopefully brought a revival to your boy who was down for a little bit there. I'll definitely tell you, your boy was... ah was at the bottom for a minute there. So I had to get myself back up and I think we have done so.
00:07:01
Speaker
So we'll keep that moving into the future and hopefully that stays as it will. But let's get into what you came here for the news. Thank you to my producer. Shout out. Appreciate you for checking on that for me. Let's go ahead and get into the news. First of all, you know, ah it is a today, actually a solemn anniversary.
00:07:21
Speaker
So as a veteran, I obviously know a lot of other veterans. And so in our country's history, there has been a lot of wars.
00:07:37
Speaker
One of those wars in our country's history was the Vietnam War. Now, the Vietnam War is wholly unpopular for the reasons that we got into it.
00:07:49
Speaker
for the actual end results that happened not only for the casualties of civilian lives lost over there but just for the the the immense magnitude that it had on our veterans coming back and having just you know ptsd diseases just all this stuff so what What is this?

Historical Reflections and Current Events

00:08:12
Speaker
This is 50 year anniversary of the fall of Saigon in South Vietnamese capital of Saigon. It expected to draw 13,000 people to a military parade in Ho Chi Minh City, including delegations from several countries.
00:08:27
Speaker
The United States will not be there. So a little bit of a hmm. What happened there? It was a mutual diplomatic decision, despite the improved relations between countries.
00:08:40
Speaker
over the past few years, i don't need to know where i put that at over the past few years there the United States won't be attending. So the anniversary marks the day the North Vietnamese forces captured the city ending nearly two decades of war unifying the country under communist rule.
00:08:58
Speaker
So basically, right, once we went in there and helped out to you Look, I don't even want to get into it. That's a very touchy subject with a lot of people.
00:09:11
Speaker
And so I don't even really want to bring up the things that came about. But let's just say that American combat troops withdrew in 1973. Well, the majority, about some thousands remained.
00:09:23
Speaker
And on April 30th, 1975, the U.S. s launched the largest helicopter evacuation in history, airlifting 7,000 American and South Vietnamese civilians.
00:09:34
Speaker
The Operation or the war's end rather, also prompted a large migration as more than 1.3 Vietnamese immigrants now live in the United States as citizens.
00:09:48
Speaker
At the war's peak, about 543,000 U.S. troops were stationed in the country of Vietnam. So again, just a remembrance for all the lives lost, a remembrance for all of our veterans that fought in the Vietnam War. A salute to you all. We owe a debt of gratitude to you.
00:10:11
Speaker
um And obviously a remembrance for all those who lost their lives in that war, in any horrible war, where we have to involve our our troops and you know risk the lives of American soldiers.
00:10:29
Speaker
Alright, moving on. Let's go ahead and get into the sports world. Let me know, ah do you know anybody? Did your grandfather serve in the Vietnam War? Anybody have any any history with that? Let me know in the comments. Let me know in the comments if any of your family your father's, or grandfather's rather, or great-grandfather served in the Vietnam War.
00:10:50
Speaker
I guess 1973, that's 50 years ago, obviously, in this decade, 20 years before that, enlisting at 1870. yeah, they will be at the youngest 68 right now, i guess, something like that, in order to have gone into the war when it started at 18 years old.
00:11:10
Speaker
So if you have any 68-year-old or older in your family that was in the military, they may have. served in the Vietnam War. Ah, my producer chiing chiming in. Your mom's cousin died in the war. I'm sorry to hear that. Rest in power to your mom's cousin and thank you for their service.
00:11:30
Speaker
Anyone else? Let me know. um But yeah, we're going to keep it moving here. Let's go ahead and move it into the sports. I'm upset at myself because I can't hear. don't know what happened. Usually I can hear it. Maybe it's my... No, the monitor's all the way up.
00:11:43
Speaker
um I can't hear the background music, so I can't actually hear if it's playing or not. um And I don't actually like hearing the silence in the background when I'm trying to talk, but it doesn't matter. So let's keep it moving.
00:11:54
Speaker
All right, sports. Let's get into sports, y'all. was a huge, huge sports weekend.

Sports Updates and Analysis

00:12:00
Speaker
So what do we got for you? First off, let us get into, and wow, the NBA playoffs, the NHL playoffs.
00:12:11
Speaker
are heating up let me tell you all and we're gonna get into some of the brackets here I'm gonna show you what we got in terms of where teams are in the first round of the playoffs this is our and NBA playoffs and let me get a little bigger here for you took myself off the screen there let me get a little bigger there for you so you can see what we got going on here and there we go okay and So what you're seeing here is actually, you know what, let me just go ahead and blow this up completely.
00:12:44
Speaker
So y'all can see that. Aha, look at that. Much better. Can you hear me while I do that? Can anybody hear me? ah You cannot hear me. Okay, you can.
00:12:54
Speaker
Okay. Cool. Well, if you can't hear me, let me know. um But anyways, this is what we got going on. As you can see on the left side here in the West, the Oklahoma City Thunder completely dismantled the Memphis Grizzlies and Ja Morant and sent them packing, gone fishing, Cancun, baby. The Nuggets and Clippers locked in an awesome series right now.
00:13:19
Speaker
Yes, locked in a really awesome series where they're up one to two. And, or sorry, they had a game last night where the Nuggets won and went up 3-2. So that series is locked in tight.
00:13:33
Speaker
The Minnesota Timberwolves have a three to one lead over Hot Take Jakes, Los Angeles Fakers. Get them out of here. Celtics didn't want to see them bums anyways. Then you got the Warriors and the Rockets and what we thought was going to be a a tougher series.
00:13:48
Speaker
The Warriors have actually taken control of this series. Ime Odoka, for as great of a defensive coach as he is, and he's a great coach in general, when he wasn't able to elevate the Celtics over the Warriors in that finals, that was because our offense, we didn't have plays at certain times when we needed them, which is much different than Mazula, who is able to he's a play-running master.
00:14:11
Speaker
You know what I mean? So look for the Warriors to win the series here. Moving over to our east side, you got the Cavaliers who took out the heat. Swep them. Sorry, big Rube. Get them up out of here. We don't like the heat anyways.
00:14:24
Speaker
Cavaliers are going on to meet the Pacers who took out the Bucs. Prayers up. Yes, prayers up. Let me come on screen for this. Prayers up to... a Damian Lillard.
00:14:35
Speaker
Unfortunately, Damian Lillard tore his left Achilles in the last game where they were eliminated. It will likely rule him out for all of next year.
00:14:46
Speaker
I guess he could return for the playoffs, possibly, but obviously Achilles injuries are long-term injuries. And it's very hard come back and that i mean in in in many sports, but we've only really seen in basketball Kevin Durant really come back.
00:15:03
Speaker
at a peak rate where he was before the injury. Lillard will be at least 35, 36 when he comes back. So now this gets into do the Bucks trade Antetokounmpo, Giannis.
00:15:16
Speaker
Giannis and Lillard are tied at the hip in terms of contract years and contract money. But do they keep this going on if there's no chance for them to win?
00:15:27
Speaker
They weren't winning with Giannis alone before. Are they really going to win with Giannis alone now and no Lillard. I can't see it happening, but I guess it could possibly be ah the case. So we'll see what happens there. Anyways, bringing you back to a full screen.
00:15:43
Speaker
So you also see we got the Knicks and the Pistons there. When you got the Knicks and the Pistons, the Knicks are, that look, the Pistons are a good GM team. All right, y'all.
00:15:54
Speaker
Pistons are a good young team. They got a young squad going be good in the future. But as of now, they're not ready. The Knicks should be able to finally um And I know, yes, you don't got to tell me. I know the Pistons won last night. Don't say, ah.
00:16:09
Speaker
I know the Pistons won. I get it. But I just, when I was watching the game last night, even down the stretch, the Pistons were just lax. The young players were just lax days ago, not hustling on inbound passes, looking around like they were a little lost. But yeah, they pulled out a victory. But I just think the more experienced team will win there.
00:16:28
Speaker
And then finally, you see my Celtics down at the bottom. Already took out the Magic. Get up out of here. It don't matter who comes next. Knicks, Pistons, don't matter. Get them up out of here.
00:16:38
Speaker
They gone as well. So there you go. That is your NBA playoff update. We will update you next week. That'll have us into the second round. We should have all of these first round series done by next week.
00:16:54
Speaker
So next week we'll have an update and we'll see where we're on the second round. And I'll give y'all my predictions then. All right, moving on to NHL playoffs. Yes, we got our bracket here.
00:17:05
Speaker
I am going to go back to full screen for you. so as you could Oh, no. Not if I take it off the screen. I won't. ah All right, so here we go. On the left-hand side, you see the West.
00:17:17
Speaker
We have the winnipa Winnipeg Jets, excuse me, who were the President's Cup. That means they had the best record in the league over the season. Winnipeg Jets, St. Louis Blues tied up 2-2.
00:17:29
Speaker
It's actually not looking that great for the Jets, and it looks bad because of what? Because they've had the best goaltender in the league For, I don't know, a couple years now, Connor Hellebuck.
00:17:49
Speaker
But finally, i don't know if he hit a wall. i don't know if he's starting to have some issues. But he has these last couple games, he just has not been working out best. but For him and for them. And so now they're tied in a series. And granted, St. Louis was the hottest team down the stretch.
00:18:05
Speaker
But the Jets should be handling this series. So it's kind of like, eh, what's going on here? So we'll see if Hellebuck can get it back for the rest of the series. Moving down, also in the West, you see the Dallas Stars.
00:18:19
Speaker
ah Three wins to Colorado's two. Here, i mean, we're thinking about this. The Avalanche. After a blowout 6-2, 10 may bring themselves back into the series now being 3-2.
00:18:33
Speaker
When Dallas is such a voracious ah voracious team, we will see if that actually happens. Then you have the Vegas Golden Knights 3-2 over the Minnesota Wild.
00:18:45
Speaker
And then if I can move myself out of the way here, you'll see we have my Kings baby at the bottom left-hand corner there. You see, my Kings has two wins. Edmonton beat us the last game. So, yes, they are up 3-2.
00:18:57
Speaker
Am I concerned? You're damn right I'm concerned. Edmonton has eliminated us in the first round of past three seasons. And I thought it was going to be us this year.
00:19:08
Speaker
I thought we were going to beat them. But it doesn't matter how good of a team we have. seems like we're just snakebitten when it comes to Edmonton. And I'm hoping for a comeback. And i'm i'm um like we do have the better team. So, I think we can come back.
00:19:22
Speaker
But it's not looking good when you go down three to two to a team that has, ah you know, Connor McDavid, colloquially known as McJesus. So I don't call him that, but whatever.
00:19:35
Speaker
Some people do. Anyways, so that is the West that we got there. And then here on the East, on the right side, you see you Toronto Maple Leafs up three games to two over the Ottawa Senators.
00:19:46
Speaker
You have the Florida Panthers up three to one over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Now, what we will say here is that the Florida Panthers, you remember, are our defending Stanley Cup champions.
00:19:59
Speaker
And so, Right now, they're looking good. It was looking a little dicey there at first when Tampa Bay was up big in game ah three, and they could have gone up two games to one. we'll see what happens there. The Capitals, three to one over the Montreal Canadiens. Shout out to DMV here where I'm at.
00:20:18
Speaker
And finally, the Carolina Hurricanes, the only team to move on into the second round. thus far, they're up 4-1 over the New Jersey Devils. And so, yes, that gives us our NHL hockey update. So again, remember, ah next week, we will be into the second round for the NBA and the NHL, so I'll give you all of those updates for when all the teams that advance, and I'll give you all my second round predictions next week.
00:20:50
Speaker
Alright, awesome! Now, The NFL Draft was this weekend, and wowzers, what did we see? We saw craziness is what we saw, y'all.
00:21:03
Speaker
Absolutely insanity in the NFL Draft. If you were watching the NFL Draft, if you were a sports fan, if you were even watching the news, you probably heard about Deion Sanders, yes, the former allpro and ah NFL All-Pro, his son Shador Sanders, sliding in the draft, originally projected to be a first-round pick, even a high first-rounder, who slid all the way down to the fifth round in what is heralded as the biggest slide in draft history and a damn near plummet.
00:21:40
Speaker
In an excusable inexcusable plummet if you ask me and and and we're gonna get into a little bit of all that but let me give you the fact first of everything that happened here um Look big big drama, you know equals big viewership so the NFL actually made out like fat cats this weekend in this draft is it was the highest attended in person, over 600,000 people at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, which is pretty much all of damn Green Bay, Wisconsin. Like, I know they can't have that many more people.
00:22:18
Speaker
Somebody in Green Bay let me know if I'm wrong, but damn it, man. I can't think y'all would have that many more people. But that's a lot of damn people. And then also they had the highest TV ratings.
00:22:29
Speaker
of all the time for the draft. Now, the draft has been known to have been a niche sort of viewing experience for the past yeah three decade a two decades when it first started being shown on ESPN probably back in the 90s, late 90s, early 2000s.
00:22:48
Speaker
So, you know, for them to get the viewership that they did averaging 7.5 million viewers across all networks and digital channels up 27%, ah that That's pretty good. Now, obviously, there's an outlier, COVID.
00:23:02
Speaker
2020 had the highest numbers, but we got to throw that out the window because everybody was at home. So what the hell else they had to do but watch the TV? Anyways, so even as the first round moved into the second round, into the third round, into the fourth through seventh rounds were usually...
00:23:21
Speaker
the No one is watching the fourth through seventh round. Only degenerates like myself watch the fourth through seventh round. But once Shador Sanders started taking that slide, the ratings just...
00:23:36
Speaker
kept up all the way through. So it went from 13.6 million in the first round, averaging 7.5, averaging there in the second and third round. And then Saturday's fourth through seventh round averaged 4.3 million viewers, setting a record for the top third draft day attendance of 43% from last year.
00:23:59
Speaker
Wow. So huge boom to the NFL for being able to, um you know Get their product out there. The NFL is the biggest TV show in America.
00:24:13
Speaker
Even if you don't watch it, it is. Every highest rated show in America is always usually going be football. There might be something else in there like a, I don't know, back in the day when maybe like a Grey's Anatomy or a Friends or something like that might sneak in there.
00:24:29
Speaker
But usually not. Usually it's all football. And that doesn't change now The NFL rules the roost on pretty I mean, they just announced the other day they're doing three games again on Christmas Day. Just said complete big FFU to the the NBA who used to consider the Christmas Day their day.
00:24:46
Speaker
No more for them. You know what mean? ah They told them to get up out of there, and that was crazy. I couldn't believe it. So what did we see in the draft? First of all, Cam Ward went first to the Tennessee Titans. Shout out to everybody in Nashville.
00:25:03
Speaker
Tennessee Titans again, they they see they they see him as the next Steve McNair mold a la. Jacksonville Jaguars traded up to number two. Huge trade. They gave up a lot to move up to trade with Cleveland to get Travis Hunter, the two-way star from Colorado. He's going to be awesome in the league.
00:25:21
Speaker
New York Giants at number three picked Abdul Carter from Penn State. And then New England Patriots chose Will Campbell, oh offensive tackle from LSU.
00:25:33
Speaker
At number five, the Cleveland Browns chose Mason Graham, defensive tackle out of Michigan. And then finally, I'm going end it at number six because it is my Raiders.
00:25:45
Speaker
Welcome two to the Raiders, baby. Ashton GNT, Boise State's running back. Yes, indeedy. Welcome to Lost Vegas. What's the time?
00:25:59
Speaker
Happened to those headphones Anyways, things are so weird Anyways, Ashton Janty He is going to be an absolute Beast Maybe in the mold of Marshawn Lynch Is what Pete Carroll is hoping Would I have drafted a running back this high?
00:26:16
Speaker
No, I would not have drafted a running back that high I think that you can get running backs In the second, third round fourth round, things like that that are good or even off the free agency heat.
00:26:28
Speaker
But I will tell you right now, I hope I am completely and utterly wrong and that Ashton GNT is the next Marshawn Lynch, is the next Barry Sanders, which is blasphemous to say anyways.
00:26:41
Speaker
But I really do hope he is going to be that because we need a running back after we gave away damn Josh Jacobs, which by the way, I must say, The Raiders' successes in first round running backs.
00:26:53
Speaker
We like Carmelo Hayes. I ain't talking Carmelo Anthony, a he although he don't miss either. Shout Carmelo Hayes from the WWE. We don't miss Marcus Allen, Napoleon Kaufman, Darren McFadden, Josh Jacobs. All first round Raiders running back picks. All amazing for us.
00:27:15
Speaker
So, thank you. Nothing going to change there at all. Rounding out the top 10, I will give you the rest of the top 10, but I just want to give us shout out. Armand Membu went to the Jets, offensive tackle out of Missouri.
00:27:26
Speaker
Tetreault McMillan, wide receiver out of Arizona, went to Carolina Panthers. The New Orleans Saints selected Kelvin Banks Jr., offensive tackle out of Texas. And the Chicago Bears at number 10 chose Colston Loveland, tight end out of Michigan.
00:27:40
Speaker
So who had the best draft when we're looking at teams that came away with to be better. ah Hold on one second.
00:27:52
Speaker
It's possible that some... I don't even know how that happened. the Hold on. Wow. Why is that like that?
00:28:02
Speaker
Okay. Oh, that makes sense. Oh, my goodness. That makes sense as to why I i was wondering why I... but No, that doesn't make any sense. Never mind.
00:28:13
Speaker
That makes absolutely no sense. Never mind. i completely okay i can't hear the music in headphones even though i can hear the sound effects so anyways my phone just rang someone called me on instagram which i mean if you're on instagram you can probably see i'm live on instagram right now uh and shout out skywalker i know it's all good uh but anyways um and it started ringing in the headphones but the problem is these headphones are connected to my soundboard they're not wireless like bluetooth but i but my phone shouldn't be connected to my computer
00:28:46
Speaker
Anyway, doesn't matter. Keep this moving. That weird. All right.

NFL Draft Insights and Reactions

00:28:49
Speaker
What teams did best in the draft? Hey, I i absolutely despise the cheaters from New England.
00:29:00
Speaker
The New England scams. Bill Belichick, Tom Shady, even though he's part of the Raiders now, and the rest of them. um But they had a really good draft. Drafting Will Campbell to protect Drake Mays there.
00:29:12
Speaker
Getting Trayvon Henderson to be a running back there is going to boost him up. Kyle Williams, wide receiver out of Washington State. Really surrounding Drake May with the pieces they need on that offense.
00:29:23
Speaker
They already got a good young defense. So the New England Patriots had a really good draft there. um How about the Cleveland Browns? Obviously choosing Mason Graham there at that number two pick. I mean, number five pick.
00:29:36
Speaker
Pairing him with uh miles garrett that's gonna be great there carson schweisinger he's not at ucla you may not know who he is as a ucla fan i saw him play for us for all those years and or for a couple years after he transferred he's good he's good i didn't think he was gonna go that high in the draft but he's really good he's a tackle machine he don't miss tackles then going out and getting quinshawn junkens the other running back from ohio state really a solid pickup there as well um and then finally i'm not going not going to be saying I'm not being biased. I may be a little biased, but I think the Raiders had a good draft. I think they did really good for what they wanted to do in their first draft with Pete Carroll at the helm.
00:30:19
Speaker
getting Ashton Jienti, then going out and getting Jack Beck from TCU, wide receiver, who originally came from LSU. And although he had some injuries, looks to be in the mold of, as they say, maybe like a Fuka Nakua.
00:30:32
Speaker
I'd say a better Hunter Renstro. Darian Porter, number three, in the mold of a Richard Sherman at their cornerback at Iowa State. Now, he's a project, but I think he's going to be really good in the long run. So I like what we did there. I think we could have done better in the late round picks, but we'll see.
00:30:49
Speaker
what happens with our draft. But that's not what you want to hear about the draft. You want to hear what happened to Shador Sanders. So it was a ah it was a rough weekend for Shador.
00:31:01
Speaker
For sure, it really was a rough weekend for him. Originally projected to go high into the draft, right? Let's see, we got a um ah projected to go high in the draft, even possibly in the first in the top of the first round.
00:31:16
Speaker
ah He ended up not getting picked Till the fifth round. At pick 144. And that's that's crazy. Now I know that might not.
00:31:27
Speaker
If y'all don't watch football. That might not make sense. um But let's. I don't even have a good analogy for it. It's so horrible. ah it's it's It's bad.
00:31:39
Speaker
First of all. yeah let's get the Let's get the elephant. Out of the room away. His father is Deion Sanders. One of the best, first of all, get that out way.
00:31:52
Speaker
One of the best football players of all time. All pro cornerback, Dallas Cowboys. oh Just amazing. Amazing, amazing, amazing.
00:32:03
Speaker
Also very boisterous, right? We know he has a personality. He is out there in the eye, in front cameras. I mean, for damn, he made a damn R&B album back in the ninety s So primetime, right? That's what his nickname was.
00:32:18
Speaker
He wanted the same for his sons. And there's no problem with that if you can make that happen, right? I know, for instance, the Ball family back when the Ball father Lamar was doing all that stuff and trying.
00:32:32
Speaker
I mean, at least he got his kids in the league, if nothing else. So you got it Give it to Deion for at least trying to do his best to amp up his sons.
00:32:42
Speaker
But that can also come back to hurt you if some of these teams see that personality and are turned off by it. but So if you are asking me where Shador Sanders should have been drafted, I would tell you probably in the first, but I could understand if he got drafted in the second round.
00:33:07
Speaker
I do not believe, even with some of his flaws, including arm strength, including not getting sacked. And yes, I know he had a horrible offensive line, but sometimes you just got to get rid of the ball.
00:33:22
Speaker
He's got to work on his throwing motions, some other things. But you know what? The kid is tough. The kid is smart. The kid has running ability. Doesn't have much of that. he can he can He can be accurate.
00:33:34
Speaker
He can get down the field when he needs to. I think he shouldn't have fell past the second round. And I think I'm like Mel Kiper. I think it's an abomination that he fell past the second round.
00:33:45
Speaker
I'm upset. My Raiders didn't choose him in the second round. Considering Geno Smith is only a bridge quarterback for a couple of years. He's not going last more than that. We've got to get a quarterback at some point in time.
00:33:56
Speaker
That was the perfect developmental quarterback to get and try it out. I'm kind of pissed. We didn't get him in. I'm very pissed. We didn't get him in third. I'm even more pissed. We didn't get him in the fourth round. So, This is, okay, so now you start to say, well, why?
00:34:10
Speaker
What other the things come into play here? Because it can't be, you can't tell me that his skill set allowed him to be dropped below quarterbacks such as Louisville's Tyler Show, who went 40th to New Orleans Saints, who I've seen play, and I can tell you his ceiling is here when Shadour's is here. Now, their floors may most be, ah his floor may be a little higher, but who the hell cares about a floor?
00:34:37
Speaker
He's a career backup. At least Shadour has starter potential. jada Jalen Milrow, fine. Starter potential. I can understand if you chose Jalen Milrow above Shadour, to do what I thought Jalen Milrow probably should have gone second it round, but I understand third.
00:34:54
Speaker
Dylan Gabriel. Okay. I accept that too. That's fine. I wouldn't have done it, but fine. Acceptable as well. The first one I cannot go with in any of them after that I cannot go with.
00:35:07
Speaker
Yes. Again, does he have some things he needs to work on as any quarterback does coming into the league, but obviously other things had to be going on in order for him to drop that much farther than he ever should.
00:35:23
Speaker
It comes down and back to the fact that a lot of teams and a lot of coaches, general managers, were scared off by comments previously made by Deion Sanders about wanting to coach his son.
00:35:40
Speaker
So that puts coaches on edge on if they're on the hot seat. They don't want to lose their job, so why would they bring this kid in, right? Then you look at general managers.
00:35:50
Speaker
And you're thinking to yourself, well if we're not in dire need of a quarterback at this point in time, then we can just get a developmental backup. Do we want to get Shador Sanders, who already comes in with the preloaded hype, right?
00:36:07
Speaker
With the preloaded cameras, the preloaded probably reality show, already has the money. It's not needs money. The celebrity father already when...
00:36:20
Speaker
you have a team, especially with an established starter, that you don't need a backup, you're not going to want to take that, you're not going to want to pick someone who has all of that extra surrounding storylines going on because you don't want that pressure on your starting quarterback.
00:36:40
Speaker
Because then calls start to come in for the backup. We all know the backup is the most popular guy in town when the starter starts to suck. So even before then, With all the hype, it would be like, oh, all the questions would be about. So you automatically are only looking at teams that possibly need a desperate for a starter, which there weren't that many aside really from Tennessee.
00:37:06
Speaker
I thought the Raiders, I mean, were still, they signed Geno Smith, but thought we still should have got a developmental pick. um So not too many quarterback needy teams that really needed to pick one. But the fact, again, that he dropped that far was just,
00:37:20
Speaker
outrageous to me. But again, you have to look at those factors that you don't want your backup quarterback to be the main quarter or the main thing that people are seeing. You don't want there to be the possibility of beyond standards, becoming ah coach later and your coach being. So these are things that general managers and coaches talk about.
00:37:39
Speaker
Yeah. Teams don't act like they're friendly, but let's be honest, all of these teams talk. And so, you know, If he were drafted by Kansas City, shout out my boy, Wildcar Mark.
00:37:51
Speaker
If he were drafted, let's say, like Kansas City, something like that with a Patrick Mahomes, yeah, you could probably have him on the backup and it wouldn't matter. Patrick could just tell him, look you know, shut up and sit down. I got this for the next five years. you'd be But again, you're probably not going to even waste a pick like that because you don't need to.
00:38:08
Speaker
So... But we'll see what happens. I think that was a bad decision by every team in the league. um the I mean, the fact I would hate if I was to do, I'd hate every team in the league, including the Browns.
00:38:19
Speaker
Because the Browns hippi are the ones that picked Dylan Gabriel before him. Like what? He already got five quarterbacks on the damn team, including Kenny Pickett, joe old ass Flacco.
00:38:31
Speaker
And now you bring, that doesn't make no sense to me. You should have just picked Shador. I think Dylan Gabriel will be a fine backup in this league, possibly a fringe starter. I mean, he could become a Bo Nix with the right coaching.
00:38:44
Speaker
I don't see it. What I do see in Shador, though, I see starter potential. Yes, again, he has things in his game that need to be fixed, as any quarterback does have coming out of college and going into the NFL.
00:38:57
Speaker
But, I think that with the right coaching, he will be a starter in this league. And I believe he's going to make a lot of teams wish that they would have drafted him. He's going to make a lot of teams, including my Raiders, hey and which is kind of weird when you think about it, that Tom Brady didn't pick him considering Tom Brady has been his trainer.
00:39:17
Speaker
which just makes no sense to me, but I guess they really thought they were secure with Geno Smith, and that has to be the only reason they didn't do it, because it makes no sense otherwise to me. Now, he also didn't go to the East-West Shrine Brawl. He also didn't go to the Combine.
00:39:32
Speaker
So things like this also play in and teams also talked about his interviews, which may have been you know a little aloof in the way he was presenting himself.
00:39:42
Speaker
Whatever these rumors are coming from the scouts and other things, They talk. Teams talk. Teams pass information. Even rumors that may not be true may go around. And all of that may contribute to what happened here.
00:39:56
Speaker
So wishing him the best. am rooting for him. Again, I think he's going to be awesome in this league eventually with the good coaching. But yeah, he's a developmental QB. Of course he is. He wasn't going to be a starter right off the bat anyways unless he got picked by a desperate team that needed a starter right away.
00:40:15
Speaker
And a lot of teams had already got their starters in the offseason through free agency. Obviously, the Steelers are still waiting for Aaron Rodgers. What do y'all think about it? What did you think about Shador Sanders falling down the draft board? It was crazy.
00:40:32
Speaker
Somebody hit me in that comment. Shout out, salute, Skywalker Boxing Media. Yes, y'all tune in with us tomorrow night, 8 p.m. Eastern, covering the ko je Combat G's Combat Support Special.
00:40:46
Speaker
featuring yours truly, sports professor, Skywalker Boxing Media, and hopefully we'll also have Papi Tuneo, Josh from 86 Boxing. We will talk the huge, huge boxing weekend this weekend. Canelo Alvarez, ah you know, Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia, T.O.P. Lopez.
00:41:02
Speaker
It is going to be awesome. Oh, is that why you were calling me? That is tremendous. I'm sitting here doing the show, and I saw you calling me, and I was telling the crowd, I was like,
00:41:14
Speaker
Wait, what why is Skywalker calling me right now? If I'm on Instagram, can't he see that I'm live? ah Hilarious. That's great. No, tomorrow night. All right. so even our special guest did not know it is tomorrow night.
00:41:27
Speaker
Special guest will be there tomorrow night, 8 p.m. Eastern. You good, brother. no That's awesome. That is hilarious. All right. So again. That was the NFL draft. Let me know what you thought. Did you watch it? What did think about Shador Sanders falling all the way down the draft board?
00:41:43
Speaker
Let us know. Even if you're watching me in the replay, hit that comment. Subscribe to Ball and Buds, B-A-L-L-A-N-D-B-U-D-S. And hit that like button. Now, there is something that happened during this process ah that Oh, yeah, damn. Yeah, no, please let Papi know. Yeah, know this yeah tomorrow.
00:42:04
Speaker
Tomorrow for sure. Yeah, please let him know. And tell him my bad if I wasn't clear about that. But yeah, tell him he can still go live. Papi told yeah, yeah. All right, anyways.
00:42:16
Speaker
So what happened? During this whole process, when Shadour was falling down the draft board, on live TV, he received a phone call.
00:42:29
Speaker
It turned out to be a prank phone call.
00:42:34
Speaker
Two college kids decided to prank call Chedore Sanders during the second round of the draft pretending to be Saints general manager Mickey Loomis and saying that he was going to be picked but that he would have to wait even longer.
00:42:50
Speaker
Now, you know, these are college kids. They're still kids. We all do stupid shit. I've done plenty of it in my life.
00:43:03
Speaker
We all deserve to be forgiven for mistakes we made. And Shadour, as a class gentleman as he is, um you know automatically forgive forgave them and said it was all good. ah It was found out that it was actually done by 21-year-old Jack Holbrook, son of Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Holbrook.
00:43:23
Speaker
So what happened was ah Sador Sanders purchased that phone for the draft only and sent the number to NFL team. Apparently, while at his parents' house, Jack saw the number on a NFL licensed iPad, wrote it down for later.
00:43:43
Speaker
Later turned out to be pranking him during what was supposed to be the biggest moment of his life. Again, we all do stupid shit we're young.
00:43:55
Speaker
We deserve to be forgiven. That being said, this is not, this is not, this is not cool. You wouldn't want it to happen to you on your biggest day of your life. You would be pretty pissed if it happened to you.
00:44:07
Speaker
You wouldn't think it was funny if it happened to you or your kid. Think about it happening to your kid more than yourself. Maybe yourself, you'd laugh about it, but thinking about it happening to your kid, your kid waiting for the biggest moment of their life for them to be drafted.
00:44:21
Speaker
And then they get pranked. Think about that. Think about that being your daughter or your son. that's ah That's how I thought about it. i don't but That's how I thought about I was like, man, that was me and I saw that happen to my kid, I would feel devastated.
00:44:34
Speaker
um but I would be so pissed. I would go after the person. Now, who needs to go after the person is Mr. Jeff Ulbrich. Let me speak to you, sir. First of all, why the hell you leaving your damn iPad out in the middle of the house for anyone to see?
00:44:51
Speaker
Just eyes to be open to. These are NFL licensed information that you're supposed to have control over.
00:45:01
Speaker
Right? You're supposed to take care of this sort of thing. So when you don't do that, you allow these things to be compromised. These sort of things happen. Now,
00:45:13
Speaker
oh should the kid have done it? No. But his dad also shouldn't have left the iPad out. So now the team was fined $100,000 or sorry, the team was fined $250,000 and the coach, Jeff Ulbricht, was fined $100,000. Now granted, you ain't gonna give all that to the coach. So as was said in my group chat, a bunch of my group chats, that's $100,000 ass whooping is what that is for Mr. Jax.
00:45:45
Speaker
The next time Jax came home from college, If that was my son, me and Jax would be having a little conversation out in the backyard away from mother so she couldn't see, aka the woodshed, and I'd be taking Jax to it.

Controversial Sports Moments

00:46:01
Speaker
Oh, you're going cost me $100,000, is it? Get over there. And I'd have a bat, maybe something like a two by four.
00:46:15
Speaker
l You know what, let me stop before i get cancelled on this. ah Tremendous. Anyways, it is messed up and you wouldn't want it to happen to your kid. So, again, we all do dumb stuff and so it's sad that it happened.
00:46:32
Speaker
But we move on. That was the update there. ah Just some quick hitters here, Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred has come out saying that he will reconsider Pete Rose's ban from the Baseball Hall of Fame, all because President Donald Trump spoke to him, I guess.
00:46:51
Speaker
Now, Manfred said he was already thinking about it. While that's possible, he didn't actually come out into the public until after he spoke with President Donald Trump at the Associated Press Sports Editor's Conference, where said, or where he talked to Trump, and then Trump came on to his social media platform and said that Pete Rose will be, or that he will be signing a complete pardon for Pete Rose.
00:47:18
Speaker
So Manfred has now come out, Rob Manfred, the Major league Baseball Commissioner, has now come out, said that he has not made a decision yet, but that he will.
00:47:29
Speaker
I mean, I'm guessing at this point he's going to now that he's discussed it with President Trump. So and as I mentioned in my mind of the professor, I do support him being posthumously inducted because of the fact that he was baseball's hit king and he was such a prevalent part of the of the baseball world.
00:47:51
Speaker
So I do think he does deserve to be into the Hall of Fame. Bill Belichick had a weird, bizarre PR flop this weekend. CBS Sunday morning. They were trying to an interview on him and make him look all good.
00:48:04
Speaker
He was trying to do this interview and what happened? His 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordan Hudson. What? Wait a second. What did you say?
00:48:15
Speaker
Back that up, Omar. What did you talking about? What are you talking about, Willis? Yes. 73-year-old
00:48:25
Speaker
Bill Belichick divorced his wife a few years ago and got himself a 24-year-old girlfriend. I am not one for ageism.
00:48:38
Speaker
I think, hey, do what you do. I do not in my heart believe 24-year-old girl like that could fall in love.
00:48:53
Speaker
with a 73 year old man, no matter who they are and how rich, that belies my point, or famous they are. um i think it is just more for the riches, the money obviously.
00:49:07
Speaker
ah But anyway, apparently she's controlling his whole life now. She's his manager, ah even apparently role play in the, and the in the in I don't even know if I can say, in the house.
00:49:21
Speaker
I'm not even going to say what I was going to don't if can say that. So a whole bunch of things going on here. But she kept interrupting the CBS interview every few minutes to tell them what they could and could not ask, including where they met and how they met.
00:49:37
Speaker
I bet she doesn't want Bill's wife to find that out. um But also, or Bill's ex-wife to find that out. But also... Telling Bill things he could and could not say and how she should phrase things like he's a little baby and not a 73 damn year old man.
00:49:52
Speaker
So this is not good. UNC is not happy with how this has put them in the spotlight. They were already at one point in time, um you know, well, they were going to do hard knocks.
00:50:06
Speaker
So and now this is just causing even more of a firestorm across social media. Bill. I mean, as they as they say, you got to get them in order. right, brother?
00:50:17
Speaker
You got to get it in order. Get your house in order, right, baby?

Entertainment and Cultural Highlights

00:50:21
Speaker
Finally, in sports, Washington commanders have put in a bid. Yes, DCO Mayor Muriel, excuse me, say that two times fast, Bowser, and team owner Josh Harris announced a $3.7 billion dollar deal to bring back the commanders to RFK Stadium, baby.
00:50:41
Speaker
Woo, that's where they should be. Will it happen? We don't know yet. There is a proposal for a new development, 177 housing, retail, park spaces. housing retail park space Brand new 65,000 roof stadium so they can get a Super Bowl, just like they're doing out in Nashville, where I am at.
00:50:57
Speaker
Says $2.7 billion coming from the team, $1 billion from ah taxpayers. The problem with big stadiums is lot of taxpayers don't want to pay for that money, including just like they did in in Missouri last year, where they rejected the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals stadium taxes.
00:51:15
Speaker
What teams need to look into is how they're doing it in Nashville. The Titans are paying. Now, I know i get it before I say this. I get that Nashville is a tourist town, but D.C. makes a lot of tours and a lot of businesses in general.
00:51:29
Speaker
So what's happening is Tennessee put a hotel tax of like 1.5 percent or something like that on every hotel room in the city. So every hotel room, every time someone rents, 1.5% of their stuff is going to build the stadium so that the the public doesn't have to pay for it at all.
00:51:49
Speaker
That's what teams need to start looking into. All these teams, but most of them, surround big cities. Just put 1%, 1.2% tax on the hotel rooms. No one's going to notice. I mean, ah if you're paying $300 for ah a hotel room, you're paying an extra, well, maybe you wouldn't notice, extra $30.
00:52:07
Speaker
That is a little But whatever. Hey, what are
00:52:14
Speaker
hey what you going to do? Don't get the whole hotel room. I don't know. But I think that is a really good idea because then the public doesn't have to pay for it. in A lot of these places, the public doesn't want to have to pay for those arenas.
00:52:26
Speaker
All right. Other quick hitters. Prayers up to USC commit Elijah Arenas, son of Gilbert Arenas, also here in the DMV. He was injured in a car crash and is progressing very well after coming out of a medically induced coma.
00:52:43
Speaker
So prayers up to Elijah Arenas. Also. Horse racing's triple crown season begins this Saturday with the Kentucky Derby, which reminds me, that means in Nashville, these stakes will be coming soon. I forget what it was called.
00:53:02
Speaker
What's the, remember. Anyways, it's a horse race they have a la the Kentucky Derby in Nashville. It's awesome. Everybody gets dressed up like the Kentucky Derby. It's really, really cool. You should check it out.
00:53:14
Speaker
Somebody help me out here in Nashville if you're watching. And finally, update to a story we talked about a few weeks ago on Banter, Brawls, and Bravado, which again, by oh, that's a great plug.
00:53:24
Speaker
Next week, hopefully on Wednesday, 8 p.m. Eastern, we'll be doing a new Banter, Brawls, and Bravado. Look out for the promotion. Anyways, Charlie Dixon, the Fox Sports 1 executive. Let's start that again.
00:53:38
Speaker
Charlie Dixon, the Fox Sports executive that was accused of sexual battery in the case of um that involved Joy Taylor, Skip Bayless, the hairstylist. So I'm not going name her name because I don't want to put her name out there. You can go look up the article if you want to.
00:53:55
Speaker
Anyways, it involved that whole big scandal that we talked about a couple of weeks ago. Charlie Dixon is now gone. Fox Sports has fired him. So that is your update there.
00:54:07
Speaker
All right. Thank you all for tuning in. Hit that like button if you're watching, please. Also, follow at Ball and Buds, B-A-L-L-A-N-D-B-U-D-S.
00:54:18
Speaker
We move it into the entertainment world. Yes, what do we got going on? First of all, man, ah we have our rock and roll.
00:54:29
Speaker
Paul... Let me get to it. Our Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees. Yes, you see the picture there. It is going to be an awesome class of inductees.
00:54:40
Speaker
So what do we have? First of all, the inductees, as you see in the picture, will include one of the greatest hip-hop groups and one of my favorite hip-hop groups of all time, Andre 3000, Big Boy, Outkast.
00:54:54
Speaker
Also, Cyndi Lauper, Girls Just Want to Have Fun. to the White Stripes, right? We know they are huge, obviously. And I mean, I was actually talking to, who was I talking to the other day?
00:55:11
Speaker
I don't remember who, i and and I don't remember who I was talking to the other day. It doesn't really matter. But anyways, I was telling them about the, there's a record store.
00:55:26
Speaker
in Nashville called Third Door, Third Man Records, Third Man Records, I think, or Third Door Records. And it's owned by Jack White from the White Stripes. So I was actually talking about that with somebody this weekend.
00:55:39
Speaker
And we were I was like, yeah, that's really cool that you that you knew about that because I've been there before and actually bought thousands from there before. Also, who else? We got Chubby Checker.
00:55:49
Speaker
Yeah, Chubby Checker back from the 50s doing the twist. Joe Crocker, Bad Company. And Soundgarden. And also, in addition, receiving the Musical Influence Award are Warren Zivon and Salt-N-Pepa, baby.
00:56:07
Speaker
Yeah, love me some Salt-N-Pepa. So look at that. That is your 2025 Hall of Fame inductees. A really good you know group of inductees there.
00:56:19
Speaker
What do you think? Who is your favorite favorite there? You like Salt-N-Pepa or Soundgarden, White Stripes, Outkast, Cyndi Lauper? Who you got? who you Who's your favorite, Inga T? Let me know in the comments.
00:56:31
Speaker

00:56:46
Speaker
But that's know theyre hidden neither here nor there. The new R-rated horror film Sinners by director Ryan Coogler, who also did Black Panther, has in its second weekend made almost as much as its first, having made $45 million dollars in the second weekend. They made $48 million in the first.
00:57:07
Speaker
I can't wait to personally see this movie. This movie came out on my birthday, so I haven't had time yet to go see it. But I'm going to go see this movie. It looks amazing.
00:57:18

And, oh, thank you. Yes, shout out Dirty Mojo, my brother. Says a good class. Thank you, sir, for tuning Really appreciate you. Love you, my dude. ah Yeah, really good class there. So, for those of you who are not Star Wars fans,
00:58:16
Speaker
In Star Wars lore, ah well, in the canon of Star Wars, back in the 70s, Star Wars, the first Star Wars, was actually number four in the series.
00:58:27
Speaker
So when George Lucas created the Star Wars movies, he created them with the fourth, fifth, and sixth movies, which were the first to come out.
00:58:40
Speaker
Those were obviously not the first ones, right? He put out the prequel later in the 90s. I remember because all my boys, including Dirty Mojo and us, we'd go to the movies and watch Star Wars.
00:58:53
Speaker
And that was when they released numbers one, two, and three. So again, four, fives, and six came out in the 70s, 80s. Then he came back and they released the prequel. Well, everyone was so enamored with the original Star Wars, which was so much better. You don't need, I mean,
00:59:11
Speaker
Forget all this Avatar over CGI nonsense. Take me back to Star Wars. That was amazing. i you know No frills.
00:59:23
Speaker
Just good old good old school action. And anyway, so since people were so enamored with the old Star Wars, once these newer ones came along, even younger people like me who were in high school and my friends,
00:59:40
Speaker
We didn't even like these movies as much as the old ones. Because we knew the old ones were the originals. Because these just weren't as good. Maybe it was because they were overproduced. um You know, you'll have to ask whoever for their certain preference.
00:59:56
Speaker
But I can tell you for myself, I personally loved 4, 5, and 6, the originals, more than 1, 2, 3. And especially number 3, Revenge of the Sith, which featured Darth Maul, got the most taste.
01:00:09
Speaker
Of any movie. From Star Wars. Probably until now. Because now they're just making. Every single variation. It doesn't even matter anymore. But. Um. um Somehow. The kids these days.
01:00:21
Speaker
I guess don't realize. The canon. They probably. They probably. Don't care. Um. Because they. They. It made $25 million. dollars Over. The weekend.
01:00:32
Speaker
Excuse me. I'm getting my water. So while we are.
01:00:38
Speaker
oh While we are, people my age, a little more down on that set of series of that movies, apparently the kids these days like it. So we'll see what happens. I cannot agree with that.
01:00:52
Speaker
Wrexham, you see that on the right side of the screen there. Ryan Reynolds and his good friend Rob McElhenney bought about three years

Celebrity and Political Commentary

01:01:03
Speaker
ago.
01:01:03
Speaker
ah They bought Wrexham FC. And so you asked what Wrexham FC is. Oh, it was four years ago, excuse me. Wrexham FC is a soccer club in Europe, and they bought them for $2.5 million back in 2021. Well, well, well, well.
01:01:23
Speaker
ah The Welsh soccer club, Red Dragons, made history over the weekend, being the first English team to earn three promotions in three years.
01:01:34
Speaker
And they are now one tier below the Premier League, which is the top tier league in Europe. England and Europe. So they now estimate their value at $133 million, dollars a 5,200% increase since the purchase.
01:01:54
Speaker
Now, this will get a little harder for them as they are a smaller team. They're going to have to spend more to get bigger free agents. They're going to have to, because when you move up,
01:02:08
Speaker
especially once you get closer to the Premier League. The players are just so much better. So that's going to take into account. Now, they already have the star power with their owners that they can get sponsorships and things like that.
01:02:20
Speaker
So it might make it a little easier for them to find those free agents. I'm rooting for them. Honestly, I'm rooting for them to get into the Premier League. That would be a crazy story and definitely something made for Hollywood specifically. So shout out to them.
01:02:37
Speaker
Finally in entertainment, this is an update from a story a couple weeks ago. if y'all remember ah If y'all remember, I talked about how Amber Ruffin would be the MC, Master of Ceremonies, for the White House Correspondent Dinner.
01:02:57
Speaker
ah And I also told you at the time, couple weeks ago, two or three weeks ago, when I brought this up, I said... Donald Trump's not going to attend anyways. Presidents don't attend this usually because they get made fun of. I think the last one that attended is was Obama because he's cool enough to get made fun of and not care.
01:03:16
Speaker
But Donald Trump isn't going to attend this anyways. And he's already said as much. But when I saw this come out, I said to myself, why would they have her hosting when they know how she feels ah about Donald Trump?
01:03:30
Speaker
She's a writer for, or a former writer now for Seth Meyers. No, she still writes for Seth Meyers. Um, But she's always been critical of Donald Trump. So don't know why they thought that was going to be anything different now ah before. So now they've removed her from being, they disinvited her wrote rather, from being the emcee of the correspondence dinner. So to me, i say screw the correspondence dinner, whoever the person is that picked, because y'all knew who she was beforehand.
01:03:59
Speaker
Why did you even pick her? You should have just picked somebody more neutral. Right? Why don't you go pick Trevor Noah? No offense to Trevor. I love Trevor. Trevor's my boy. Shout out, Trevor. We got to get together soon, my friend.
01:04:10
Speaker
Haven't seen you in a while. All right. Oh, Dirty Mojo about ah says about Star Wars, episodes 4, 5, 6, amazing.
01:04:22
Speaker
No lies there. 4, 5, 6 is the original and the amazing. Nothing else better. 3. 1, 2, one two three ah was pretty good, he says. i wouldn't say three. Well, one and two.
01:04:34
Speaker
One and two were pretty good. Three, i kind of agree with people that hate number three the most. I just i can't get down with Revenge of the Sith. It was all right. But one and two, sure, I can definitely, that's pretty good. Yep, I agree with that.
01:04:47
Speaker
Seven, eight, nine being mid, yes. Completely agree. Completely agree. um I actually just went back, it was like a couple years ago, and re-watched The late ones that I didn't remember too well.
01:05:02
Speaker
And yeah, yeah. After I watched it the second time I remembered, I was like, ah these weren't as good as I thought they were the first time. So I definitely agree with you there. But if you are not a fan of Star Wars or if you've never seen Star Wars, I encourage you to go watch Star Wars.
01:05:18
Speaker
Star Wars was an amazing, amazing film series in terms of storytelling, in of acting, terms of acting. in terms of character development, in terms of twists and turns.
01:05:33
Speaker
Luke, I am your father. Anyways, ah yeah, go check it out. There are different ways to watch it. They got the original order, which George Lucas says do not watch it in that order.
01:05:46
Speaker
Actually, that came personally from George Lucas. He does not recommend watching it in the numerical order. That's why he didn't release it that way, because he didn't think it should be watched that way.
01:05:57
Speaker
um But some people have watched it and said that they liked it that way. Other people watch it in what's called the machete order. I would say you watch it in the machete order. I actually went back and watched it in that order, um and it was pretty awesome.
01:06:10
Speaker
I actually don't remember the exact order, but I'm going to bring it up for you right now because I don't want you to go without knowing what I am talking about. So here it is. The Machete order.
01:06:23
Speaker
um Oh, no. Okay. Yeah. Hold on.
01:06:30
Speaker
Oh, let's see. Let me see here. What do we got for you?
01:06:35
Speaker
Mm-mm. Okay, so this says that you should watch. i Okay, come on. Where did get the list at? All right.
01:06:49
Speaker
Anyways, some reason, it is not coming up with the list. It's just showing me the article. So that didn't work there. We're going to keep it moving because that's not fair. Yes.
01:07:01
Speaker
Thank you for laughing at me, my producer. I really, really appreciate that. I was really trying to get that up. Anyways, you can look it up. Look up the Star Wars Machete Order. Just a different way to watch the Star Wars movie. All right.
01:07:12
Speaker
Cool. So let's go ahead move it on to our U.S. s news for the week. We got a lot of Donald Trump information to talk today.
01:07:25
Speaker
So let's give you an update on what is going on around the United States after last night's explosive, I mean explosive interview. Did you watch it last night?
01:07:37
Speaker
Donald Trump had consensus exchange throughout the whole interview with ABC News's Terry Moran, they went back and forth on every single issue.
01:07:48
Speaker
Neither one wanted to give any leeway. I liked it. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I was dying laughing every time they were interrupting. Two petty kids.
01:08:00
Speaker
But, and like as we've noted before, you're going to have fact check Donald Trump himself. But there were a lot of things he said that were half-truths A lot of things he said that were misconstrued.
01:08:16
Speaker
And a lot of things that don't do do not need to be construed. And so let's get a couple of things. First of all, kind of out of the way with what Donald Trump has done in his first 100 days. Executive orders and executive action.
01:08:38
Speaker
He has signed a record number. of executive actions and executive orders. But I want you to realize that a lot of times and a lot of these executive actions and orders are more ceremonial than anything because in order for a lot of these things to actually pass through and become, you know, legislated without being contested by the Supreme Court and other, as we've seen every day ah since Trump has come in,
01:09:10
Speaker
is that it needs to be voted in by the Senate, by the House, by the Congress, by a majority, a ratified majority, things like that. So a lot of those things you can't necessarily just take as, oh, they're going to happen just because he signed it.
01:09:26
Speaker
that's the first thing. Because I know a lot of people that don't watch politics think, oh, he did all this stuff. It's so great. Well, yeah, but a lot of those things that he signed are more ceremonial than not because they can't actually be put into play unless they're actually voted upon.
01:09:38
Speaker
Let's get that out of the way. Second of all, ah in terms of inflation,
01:09:47
Speaker
the polls that were or the the statistics that were released, and all obviously we're still in April, so we don't have April yet. But first quarter, right, which is what Donald Trump pointed to yesterday, he pointed to the fact that inflation was up and stocks are down.
01:10:07
Speaker
price or prices were up and stocks are down. first of all, yes, prices are up a little bit, right? still Still up a little bit on most products, as we've seen on eggs and other things.
01:10:22
Speaker
They have decreased a little bit, but still up over where they were in this time last year. And stocks, stocks being down at this point in time versus, you know, the same time frame last year.
01:10:38
Speaker
The thing about this is
01:10:43
Speaker
President Donald Trump likes to pick and choose the statistics that will make him look good at any ah that that certain point in time. And then he'll let you know later that that's what he was doing.
01:10:59
Speaker
But a lot of times that can come back to bite him. Like it did today when he was doing Cabinet thing in the cabinet with the White House, although he always just kind of rambles and plays it off and kind of blusters through until the reporters ask another question.
01:11:19
Speaker
But a reporter brought up the fact that when you came into office and you were elected, the stock market was up coming out of Biden's presidency. And you took ownership of that and said that was because you became the president.
01:11:34
Speaker
But now, three months later, the stock market is down. You're saying that that was all Biden's fault. And he did. He started blaming all of this on Biden from this quarter and next quarter.
01:11:46
Speaker
Well, which is it? Because when you got elected back in November, and you said it was all because of you that the stock market was blowing up. But now, that's not how that works. That's not how that works.
01:11:57
Speaker
Can't have your cake and eat it too. If you want to say that that was yours back in November, then this needs to be yours too. If you want to say that it's Biden's, then that was Biden's too. And that's the problem.
01:12:09
Speaker
That's the problem, is we can never get a straight answer from our president. He's always double-talking or even sometimes completely reversing his stance, like he has with tariffs.
01:12:22
Speaker
He's been putting tariffs on the whole world, on all these products. Started with Canada and Mexico. We remember what happened. 90-day pause. Another 90-day pause. Then he put it all over the world. three days later.
01:12:32
Speaker
No, pause. By the way, after hyped up my stock, made money off of insider trading, allegedly, which we'll get into a little more of that in just a second with this new Bitcoin.
01:12:44
Speaker
ah But, you know, you think about it and you're like, okay, well, wouldn't that have to do more with tariffs than anything? So these are just things that we need to look at when we are deciding.
01:12:57
Speaker
And again, I'm not here to make those decisions for you. I think I think the majority of the things that Donald Trump has done has been done in a swath fashion, a, a large, a larger fashion than it should have ever been done.
01:13:16
Speaker
Let me put it that I think that a lot of things that he has done, everything, almost everything he's done should have been done in a more targeted fashion to allow for,
01:13:29
Speaker
ah or premium efficiency and premium effectiveness, but also so in ensure that we don't have the reverse of those things happening, which we've talked about in this program with the doge cuts, veterans losing their jobs with immigration, innocent people that it could be here ah legally as well being taken away.
01:13:56
Speaker
Um, These sort of things need to be looked at from both sides of the coin, and that's for you to decide on where you feel he has done well at and where you feel he has not done well at here in his second term.
01:14:11
Speaker
Depending on what polls you look at, ah he's around 45% to 55% approval rate. Those polls are biased.
01:14:24
Speaker
You're going to want to look where those polls are coming from. For instance, if you see a poll on CNN or on Fox News, you're probably going to want to bet that that poll leans a little biasedly, either left or right.
01:14:38
Speaker
Cool. So just make sure you take that into effect. But other of things like immigration. Yes, the border is down to its lowest crossings ever. That is awesome.
01:14:50
Speaker
Great news, right? We don't want to have open borders for criminals to come across. We don't need that. We don't need criminals in our country. They do need to be sent back.
01:15:00
Speaker
Agreed. So, low border crossings, lowest ever. Awesome. But then there's the fact that there are innocent and even sometimes legal people being deported.
01:15:14
Speaker
Incorrectly. A story I watched earlier. They were going to try to find previously ah people that lived in a house to deport them. Instead, those people didn't live there anymore.
01:15:28
Speaker
They they but basically assaulted and harassed the family that live there now and then ah you know treated them as if they were illegal citizens even though it turned out they were legal This is where things can come into play that are incorrect and should not be happening within our country.
01:15:53
Speaker
What else? Well, let's think about the fact that the U.S. These are some things that I think are are going to we're going to have some issues with.
01:16:04
Speaker
Listen to this. How are they tracking some of these illegal immigrants or immigrants? They're using the U.S. Postal Service. The U.S. Postal Inspecting Service is an investigative arm of the U.S. Postal Service.
01:16:21
Speaker
It has been a assisting trump in the Trump administration with locating migrants living in the USA illegally. The inspection service recently joined the Department Homeland Security Task Force, helping federal authorities to locate illegals using data from mail and packages.
01:16:38
Speaker
um A senior Homeland Security official confirmed this, saying they're key part of ensuring law enforcement has the resources needed to fulfill President Trump's promise to the American people.
01:16:52
Speaker
Fine. I want to be very careful how word this.
01:17:02
Speaker
Because there is a time a line, a fine line, when rights are, fraud when rights are are violated, judicial lines are crossed that should not be.
01:17:19
Speaker
What do I mean?
01:17:22
Speaker
It is one thing use the mail to find illegal immigrants and deport them. It is another thing to use the mail and find try to find the illegal immigrants and do something that almost just that that I explained just happened where these people who were legally living there, you know, got thrown out on the grass in their underwear, treated like complete um non-citizens and criminals.
01:17:44
Speaker
Things like that can't happen. What else can't happen? And this one is very close to my heart as a veteran, but It was announced, President Trump announced by executive order that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and U.S. Attorney pam bondi ah attorney General Pam Bondi to increase military and national security assets to local law enforcement officials to determine how military ah could be used most effectively to prevent local crime.
01:18:19
Speaker
Let me state that again. He issued an executive order to direct them to find out how to use military and national security assets in local law enforcement to prevent civilian crimes.
01:18:39
Speaker
This is where we start to get a little deep. This where we start to get a little over the line. This is where Where do citizens' rights get violated? When when is it when is it okay to start? that it Is it ever okay to use the military against their own citizens? In my eye, no.
01:19:05
Speaker
Now, there's actually a Passe Commitie Act of 1978, or 1878 rather, excuse me, that was actually instituted to prevent military forces from engaging in local law enforcement.
01:19:21
Speaker
matters and that says whoever accepting cases expressly authorized by the constitution or act of congress uses any part of the military to otherwise execute laws shall be fined or imprisoned no more than two years this is said that this basically means that the military should not be used enforce local law enforcement
01:19:50
Speaker
This was mentioned and when I first heard of this, I thought to my myself, wow, that sounds very much like a dictatorship, like what a Vladimir Putin would do or a you know any of these other dictators. They would send the military out to control the civilian population.
01:20:10
Speaker
It reminded me of video I see in in the Middle East where... the police go around and and whip and hit their people, making sure that they stay in their houses or that they're not doing anything they should be doing.
01:20:24
Speaker
That's a line that we're getting to where should we actually be crossing that line? Does that actually violate human rights, ah you know, citizens' rights?
01:20:36
Speaker
I'm no judicial scholar, but from what I read in that Act of 1878, Seems like that's not something that is ah legal and not something that should be utilized to control what happens in the civilian world.
01:20:56
Speaker
Again, as a veteran, that this is my personal opinion, but also using the act that I just told you from 1878, it's technically a law that you're not supposed to. Again, through executive order, if it was ratified by the by the by an act of Congress, then sure, it could be done.
01:21:12
Speaker
But when we start using our military against our own civilians, a I mean, that's that ah pushing it a little bit.
01:21:25
Speaker
That's pushing it a little bit. We have local law enforcement, and we have a lot of

Trade and Economic Concerns

01:21:28
Speaker
it. We have law local law enforcement for a reason. We have all of these things that we shouldn't even have personally, if you're talking about like for-profit jail system and stuff like that.
01:21:39
Speaker
ah You can go back and watch my mind to the professor to see how I feel about that. But that's a whole other story. It just seems a little stepping over the violation of citizens' rights to use the military in enforcing any sort of local law enforcement. Moving on.
01:21:58
Speaker
Cheriffs. We talked about terrorists a second ago. So what's happening with that fallout? cargo handlers are raising the alarm on the steep drop-off in foreign-made goods entering the United States.
01:22:09
Speaker
So, amid the falling demand for Chinese goods that have now been tariffed at 145% by President Trump, a 65% plummet, yes, a 65% plummet in three weeks after the tariffs have taken effect of seafaring cargo shipments.
01:22:30
Speaker
That means Shipments of our products of everything coming from China to the US is down 65% since the three weeks of terrorism. That means that if you were planning on having products and things of that, you're going to want to expect more of a logistical delay, like a COVID logistical delay. If you remember,
01:22:53
Speaker
Sometimes during COVID, we couldn't get products for a while. You're going to want to expect that here again soon. Ocean Freighters called off 80 trips alone this month.
01:23:04
Speaker
That's more than 60% cancellations than the peak of COVID in 2020. twenty So that's not good at all when you're 60% percent More than the peak of COVID in cancellation of goods.
01:23:19
Speaker
So you might want to even expect even longer than a COVID delay, which can't be good. But we'll see. United States is trying to get other products from other countries out there, Vietnam, Bangladesh, so on and so forth. But they're not going to be able to get as much, or we will not be able to get as much, that we would be able to get from China, obviously. The COVID-like sort of could take off for a while. Layoffs.
01:23:45
Speaker
ah Lagging sales, layoffs and trucking, logistics, retail, summertime, recession, possibly all these things could hinder transportation and logistics. ah Still, about you know coming up for the holiday season, I i know that's far away, but in terms of logistics and transportation, it's not because when you think about how products need to be manufactured and then shipped over to United States, this is a year-long process for a lot of products.
01:24:13
Speaker
So in terms of you know, Christmas and Thanksgiving and back to school. What kind of delays will we see logistically? Will you be able to get your back to school supply?
01:24:25
Speaker
Things like that. ah What about tariffs on auto makers? Trump came out that he was giving or putting tariffs on auto makers. Now backed off that.
01:24:35
Speaker
As we mentioned earlier. He's backed off of all of his tariffs so far. Except China. He's backed off of the autoor automaker tariffs. No longer applying the 25% tariff. On foreign cars.
01:24:46
Speaker
So after all that hullabaloo. He went through. About not making American cars. And about why there were no American cars on Japanese roads. Because ours suck and theirs don't. And why all this other stuff.
01:24:59
Speaker
Then he just goes around and takes the tariffs off anyways. Dude. please stick your ground with something. Please. If you're going to say that you want American made vehicles and you don't want foreign cars coming here and you're going slap a 25% tariff on them, keep it there.
01:25:14
Speaker
Don't take it off two weeks later and think, Oh, no, one's going to see. like We're going to see, we're going to notice. Can't just do that. It doesn't make any sense. Then what are you? Sorry. You're now saying that foreign cars are, I mean, if you're doing that, that just means the foreign cars are going to take over again.
01:25:31
Speaker
So, uh, You know what Let me get off my high horse. This is a headline show. I'm not going to say anything about economics. Yes, I did take economics, so I understand.
01:25:43
Speaker
But, ah you know, I'm just not even going to get into the whole economics of it. It's going to bring... The thing is, y'all, when you have these... these logistical delays when you have these tariffs, when you have price increases, when you have the stock down, stock market down, when you have inflation up, all these different things.
01:26:00
Speaker
Consumer confidence falls. We are a five-year low in consumer confidence. Not since the early days of COVID-19 has consumer confidence been this low. And actually, oh and the the reading April short-term expectations came in you know at What is to possibly say that we could have a recession later year.
01:26:26
Speaker
So when consumer confidence is low, consumers are are more hesitant to spend money. And when consumers are hesitant to put money into the economy, then the economy has to pull back.
01:26:39
Speaker
and the supply has to be pulled back because there is no demand. So then companies and businesses have to pull back on making products, have to lay off workers, have to lower wages.
01:26:51
Speaker
Then, in order to bring that back up, the government has to lower interest rates that makes businesses want to spend, makes consumers want to buy houses, makes consumers want to spend, so on and so forth.
01:27:03
Speaker
And that's why the economy is always cyclical. The thing is, we want to try to keep the economy non-cyclical. And I get that it's not possible to always keep it constant. But things like these tariffs don't help, obviously. Things like these tariffs are going to bring those ups and downs to a magnitude that affects the whole world. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, when I talked about how this will affect affect the global economy, it will affect the global economy going forward. And I will keep you updated here on what happens.
01:27:37
Speaker
What else? um Amazon actually talked about putting tariff surcharge prices on their site to show ah you know customers what they would be paying in terms of tariff charges.
01:27:50
Speaker
President Trump didn't like that. President Trump called up Jeff Bezos. He was like, hey, we got him. ah Hold on.
01:28:02
Speaker
Let me do an impression.
01:28:06
Speaker
Jeff. got more yeah Jack, you listen here, you little shit. What the... What do you think you're doing? What? What do you mean, what do I mean? You know what the tellll go the hell I'm talking about.
01:28:17
Speaker
Tariff charges on your site? You trying to make me look like an idiot? And he's on the... No, no, no. No, sir. No. I lick your boot. yeah I lick your boot, sir. Because that's what all of the those social media oligarchs and billionaires are doing now.
01:28:34
Speaker
And so that's what happened. And so he said, no, never mind. We're not doing that. So it's like, okay. um But other other places are doing this. Other places are actually putting tariff charges on their site to indicate why things are being charged more.
01:28:48
Speaker
actually had an example um about i was going to use it, but actually kind of don't want to use it now because it may not even be proper for the show.
01:29:00
Speaker
And I don't want to get canceled. So anyways, just know that tariffs are being charged on different items. Everything from everyday items to... How do I say?
01:29:12
Speaker
Fun items! Fun items? Fun items. Let me stop.
01:29:24
Speaker
Anyways... Moving on. In relation to Amazon, UPS is cutting 20,000 jobs. This is ah as a result in the in the United Postal Service decision to deliver fewer Amazon packages. They decided they wanted to cut Amazon deliveries by more than half to save $3.5 billion in cost, but they will have to lay off 4% of their workforce at 500,000 workers. That's hard to say.
01:29:52
Speaker
didn't hard to say i didn't Yeah, I didn't. know We're sorry. Yeah. four Yeah. 4% of the 4% of the 500,000 workers. 20,000 jobs is a lot of jobs. That's 20,000 people that don't no longer have a job that may no longer be able to support their family, that may no longer be able to feed their kids, so on and so forth. And while this was the own company's fault for making that decision, this is what.
01:30:23
Speaker
And I'm not going to call them a monopoly. But if we're being completely honest, Amazon does have a monopoly in the online shopping world. Let's be completely honest about it.
01:30:34
Speaker
And most of the packages that are delivered these days are Amazon packages. I mean, let's be honest. You know what I mean? So that's a hard one for them because you don't want to help out your your competitor.
01:30:48
Speaker
But at the same time, it's kind of like the U.S. and China with their terrorists. It's like you don't want to help out your competitors, like but we need them. to make money or we got to get cut down somewhere else.
01:30:59
Speaker
And that's what they're doing. right. In good news, let's get you some positive United States news here. That was all negative. Let's get you to the positive news here. IBM plans to invest $150 billion in the United States over five years, including $30 billion for research and development for manufacturing mainframe and quantum computers in the United States.
01:31:21
Speaker
Also, NVIDIA and Apple have also said separately they plan to spend $500 million. So, you know, One thing Donald Trump has done really well, I must say, is bringing investments into the country. He has made sure that through his making of those people, um you know, lick lick his boot, like Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, through this whole process, he also tells them, hey, you got to do what I want now.
01:31:52
Speaker
And sometimes that comes in good when you can bring investment into the country. Oh, shout out, Ma. Uncle Benny's Young. I'll see you next week. I love you. ah But yeah.
01:32:03
Speaker
So anyways. um What else? Other good news. Or rather. Other good news. Yes. no You know what? I'm not going to do that now. Actually, you know what? No, I am going do this now.
01:32:15
Speaker
So. If y'all want to book any domestic flights. Now is the time to do it. So because of the uncertainty within the economy. Last month. Domestic airline fares fell 5.3% year over year.
01:32:33
Speaker
Also, ticket prices were down 4% from February. So if you are trying to go travel, go to Miami, Vegas, New York, wherever you want to go see, I would do it now.
01:32:45
Speaker
Tickets are at its cheapest. ah In March, 6.56 million U.S. citizens flew out of the country, including 1.6% increase from last year, including myself, who just went to Costa Rica.
01:33:01
Speaker
um But those ticket prices, non-domestic, international, are still much higher at this point in time. right, what we got here? All right, cool. Some quick hitters before we get you get you to our world news.
01:33:16
Speaker
Amazon launched its first internet satellites in a bid to compete with SpaceX Starlink and it shows that or We'll see if they are actually able to compete since yes Amazon has been working with the Blue Origin stuff for a while, but obviously Internet satellite SpaceX that's their thing with Starlink.
01:33:39
Speaker
We'll see if they're actually able to
01:33:42
Speaker
President donald Donald Trump has dismissed all scientists working on the National Climate Assessment. It was a congressionally mandated climate change report. These scientists solve key questions like limiting carbon dioxide to fuel chemical reactions.
01:33:58
Speaker
Okay. You know how I feel about this. I'm not one of those huge climate change people. ah Yes, Climate change is a thing Obviously it's not possible for it not To be a thing When you see when you see the increasing Volatile weather weather Patterns we've been experiencing Over the past decade The the melting of the ice caps So on and so forth Just the hotter weather in general Things like that So yes climate change is real ah But I'm not I'm going to be alive
01:34:38
Speaker
And I know that sounds bad, but none of us are going to be alive for enough of a change to be, well, I can't say none of us. Maybe people were just born.
01:34:53
Speaker
Anyways, it's hard. recycle. I try to do my part. I ride a bike. i don't have a car. So I do my part. But I also realize it's very hard to transition from where we came from, the Industrial Revolution,
01:35:09
Speaker
to clean energy just like that. It's just not going to happen. It's just not. um And so i also know that just because we do something positive about climate change or Canada or Europe doesn't mean that the rest of the world is.
01:35:28
Speaker
And if you're only doing a little portion of it, it's not really going to defeat the rest of the, you know, the me stop.
01:35:40
Speaker
I don't want to dissuade you from doing the things you need to Recycle. Do whatever you do. Ride a bike. I don't know where was going Oh, man. All right. move Before we move into World News.
01:35:53
Speaker
so Actually, you know what? I'm just going to move that to World News because that is World News. All right. Hold on. Moving on.

Significant Global Events and Reactions

01:36:02
Speaker
World News. What is happening in the world? Pope Francis was laid to rest.
01:36:07
Speaker
May he rest in peace. Hundreds of thousands of mourners gathered in and around Vatican City ah about a week. at Well, he was 88 when he passed away.
01:36:20
Speaker
He came out, blessed the people for Easter, then subsequently passed away, which, by the way, I guess if you're a Pope, the Easter time would be the, I guess, I don't want to say no one wants to die, but the perfect time to die, I guess, would be around Easter, right? If you're a pope.
01:36:40
Speaker
I mean, anyways. So did you see the movie Conclave? I saw it. Watched it with my mom. Thought it was pretty good. Yes, not exactly what they do, but it's pretty, it was pretty for the for the the layman, it's a pretty good explanation as to what happened.
01:36:56
Speaker
So what does need to happen? Starting on May 7th, they will go to elect the next pope. They need to have a two-thirds majority of the 135 cardinals.
01:37:08
Speaker
So there are 135 cardinals over the world. We're going to vote. They will be sequestered. That means they will be locked in the Vatican. They will only be able to talk to each other. There's no outside communication to the world until they elect a pope.
01:37:22
Speaker
They do up to four elections a day every time. If they do not have a majority, they then have another election. After each election, the ballots are all burned. And then when you finally see the real burning with the white smoke coming out of the chimney, that's when you know we will have a new Pope.
01:37:41
Speaker
What that means to all of you watching this show, not very sure because I guess while the Pope is a world famous person, it's also, you know, if you're not Christian or Catholic or any of that, I don't necessarily see.
01:38:00
Speaker
I mean, it may be important to you just because he's a world figure, but I don't think that you would actually have any like emotional connection to the the to the to the pope i could be wrong but i just don't to me that doesn't if you weren't actually christian or catholic i don't know why why you would have anyways random thoughts coming to my mind uh moving on may he rest in peace uh and be with our lord uh in heaven an iberian blackout in the peninsule In the Iberian Peninsula blackout, excuse me, Spain, Portugal, parts of France were hit by a widespread power outage impacting tens of million people.
01:38:38
Speaker
Power has been restored in Spain and France, but could take longer in Portugal. They say it is not a cyber attack, that it was actually an induced atmospheric vibration, which is a phenomenon whereby extreme temperature changes can cause especially high voltage lines to oscillate.
01:39:01
Speaker
When they do, lights go out, airports shut down, traffic lights go out, schools are closed, banks are closed, hospitals stop routine work, the Madrid open postponed tennis matches, Coco golf, mid-interview, got lights go out, craziness.
01:39:20
Speaker
um So that's another thing that to do with climate change, though, when you're looking at it. In extreme heat or even extreme cold, it can cause problems with infrastructure. And then when you have problems with infrastructure, then you start to have problems with people actually being able to live and of proper in a proper way.
01:39:39
Speaker
Alright, what else? Moving on. Mark Carney's Liberal Party won Canada's election. The former central banker will get to keep his job as Canada's Prime Minister.
01:39:53
Speaker
What happened here, y'all? So, This is crazy. If you remember a few weeks ago on this show, I told you about how Elon Musk had backed some Wisconsin judges that were going up for election and that they he put in like millions of dollars to try to get them elected and they did not get elected. They got voted down.
01:40:16
Speaker
So that, as I told you, was kind of an indication how Americans, especially within the
01:40:28
Speaker
the battleground state felt about Donald Trump's president, second presidency so far. So in Canada, Once Donald Trump started talking about being the 51st state and everything, which, by the way, he came out again and said he was completely serious. He's not trolling them.
01:40:48
Speaker
He thinks that Canada owes us. He says we lose $250 billion a year to Canada. He says we don't need their lumber. We don't need their energy. He says they need us. He's being completely serious about the 51st state thing. He said that to Time magazine. So while he's not kidding about that,
01:41:06
Speaker
Canada took him very seriously as well. And so Canada, whose conservatives actually led by a 25% point margin at the start of 2025, just four months ago, five months ago, they had 25% lead over the liberals.
01:41:23
Speaker
But then when Trump got elected and started doing the 51st state, the tariffs and this and that, it completely flipped. And the liberal party ended up winning in Canada.
01:41:34
Speaker
Crazy. oh So we'll see what happens. But I mean, if we're looking at just trade deficit, we're looking at if Donald Trump is correct about what he said, U.S. is the biggest purchaser of Canadian goods.
01:41:52
Speaker
We account for nearly 80 percent of their exports. So do we need them or do they need us? Now, I completely disagree with the 51st state. That's not what I'm saying.
01:42:05
Speaker
Not saying they should be a 51st state. That's not what I'm saying. I'm just saying, seems like they need us a lot more than we need them. So, you know, there shouldn't be such a, but no, I do not think they should be a 51st state. I think, I think that all of that, the Greenland, if you've heard me before on this show, international law prevents you from taking over other countries.
01:42:25
Speaker
This is not the game risk. We do not do that anymore. This is not the 1500. You can't just go around taking people over. You just can't do it. There's law that prevents that. Anyway, moving on.
01:42:38
Speaker
oh Here we go. Update on Russia. Got to give you our Russia

International Diplomacy and Tensions

01:42:42
Speaker
update here. So Russia and Ukraine. We were supposed to have a ceasefire.
01:42:49
Speaker
Just last week, Donald Trump came out and said that he thought Vladimir Putin might have been putting him off, which means playing with him because he kept telling Trump he was going to ceasefire, but he hasn't anything.
01:43:00
Speaker
anything or actually gone through with anything so President Trump thinks he might be getting played by Putin which I could have told him a long time ago had he just wanted to call me I would have helped him out with that information and told him Putin was just trying to play him but anyways Putin is just playing with him even more now as on April 28th he announced a three-day ceasefire only three days to honor World War II
01:43:25
Speaker
you can't make this stuff up my friend You cannot make this step up. Russia will ceasefire on Ukraine for only three days. to celebrate World War II. Comes days after Trump called them to end the war completely, ah which Vladimir Putin was like, nah, you can have this.
01:43:40
Speaker
What they are demanding. Russia is demanding four regions from Ukraine. their and Their original demand back in 2012 or 2014 would have been just Crimea, right?
01:43:52
Speaker
But now they are wanting three other provinces as well. They want Crimea. They want Sevastopol. They want Dost. They want Luan, Kherson, and Safarizia.
01:44:10
Speaker
So they want they want way more territory now than they ever asked for before. And they said that Ukraine must recognize 20% of their country as Russian territory.
01:44:25
Speaker
if you're If I'm Ukraine... I mean, that's a lot. I'm already giving up a minerals deal to the United States, which, by the way, was just announced earlier today that Ukraine and United States are signing a 25 percent mineral deal.
01:44:37
Speaker
actually think that's a good deal. Before, when is that 50 percent? You remember on this show, I said I thought that was too much. That would actually destroy Ukraine if we took all their minerals, since that's how they live. But 25%, I think, is recompensed for what we had to pay to protect them in that war.
01:44:53
Speaker
That being said, if we did all that protection here in the United States and we sent all those billion dollars over there, why would we just give everything to Russia? That makes no sense. Also, it makes no sense because a lot of those provinces that we will give to Russia contain those minerals.
01:45:07
Speaker
And if Russia owns those provinces, we ain't going to get those minerals. You think Russia's going to give us those minerals? That ain't happening. So lot of things need to go in here and we'll see what happens. But the Russians are making a lot of demands.
01:45:18
Speaker
They said no NATO for Ukraine. They said all frozen assets returns and all arrest warrants against Putin must be dropped. They also want security
01:45:32
Speaker
guarantees for Russia that they will not be attacked by Ukraine, which makes no sense since it was the other way around to begin with. So we'll see what happens there. But as you know,
01:45:43
Speaker
This has not ended for a long time and it doesn't seem like it is going to end anytime soon. President Trump and Zelensky are speaking though. They did talk about what could be done, and that was what brought up that minerals deal that was announced today at 25%. But a lot of European officials, including German's defense minister, Boris Pistorius, said that Ukraine should not agree because they're giving up too much territory.
01:46:11
Speaker
I agree with that. I think they're giving up way too much territory. Crimea is one thing since that was annexed. It's still wrong, but it was annexed 10 years ago. So it's not like you were probably going to get that back anyways at this point.
01:46:24
Speaker
But trying to demand all these other regions for which you're still fighting over, I think is kind of wrong because you never really did actually. um Now, they have control of those regions at this point in time, but that doesn't mean that's anything you if Ukraine wanted to fight back for those regions.
01:46:41
Speaker
Well, as always, I will keep you updated on that. Moving on, USA and Iran in their nuclear deal. Let me up update update you here. Officials have held bilateral talks on Iran's nuclear program in Oman.
01:46:56
Speaker
direct um U.S. Special Envoy Steve Wyckoff and i in Iran's Foreign Minister, President, Foreign Minister, excuse me, talked and broker are working on an agreement in relief in exchange for nuclear sanctions.
01:47:14
Speaker
um In exchange for 15 years of uranium enrichment limits and regular inspections of its nuclear site. But what happened after that is the deal fell through and Iran has continued to build up its nuclear capacity.
01:47:30
Speaker
stockpile. Israel does not appreciate this at all. Prime Minister, Israeli and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has come out and said that they need to completely shut down their nuclear program and that they would not it not
01:47:50
Speaker
they would not go as far as to say they would not detox Iran's nuclear sites. So this could get very, very bad if Iran wasn't to agree to a deal and got attacked by either Israel or even the United States. Now, this has obviously been going on for a long time as well.
01:48:09
Speaker
We know because the U.S. has been trying to get Iran to squash their nuclear program, and they just have not we have not been able to get them to do that. But reasons that we want to do that is because Iran also backs up terrorist groups like Hamas.
01:48:26
Speaker
and the Houthis. And we've seen what happened with the Houthis attacking the ship, the United States ships. And then we saw the United States came back when they sent the Harry the harry S. Truman.
01:48:37
Speaker
shut out Shout out one of my brothers who was on that ship. um The Harry S. Truman to go out there and take care of some of those Houthis with some of those strikes. Now we have seen um a little less of those, but the problem is now that we have to take them out from the base.
01:48:54
Speaker
in order to complete the mission. So we'll see what happens here. I will keep you updated on these bilateral talks to see if they can actually get Iran to agree to this. But as we've seen since 2015, they keep going back and forth on their words. So I don't know that we should expect them to be any different here.
01:49:12
Speaker
Moving on, um in Pakistan, Pakistan has said it shot down an Indian spy drone in its airspace yesterday. This marks an escalation following the deadly attack last week in the Indian-controlled region of Kashmir.
01:49:29
Speaker
On at April 22, at least four gunmen killed 26 people, most Indian tourists. India says at least two of the assailants were Pakistani citizens and blames Islamabad for supporting separatist violence.
01:49:43
Speaker
Pakistan denies the association with the gunmen, and since the attack, has the countries have downgraded their diplomatic relations. India suspended a key water treaty enabling eighty Pakistan to access 80% of the water it uses for irrigation and launched a test missile over the weekend.
01:50:02
Speaker
Pakistan in response closed its airspace to India and has threatened nuclear response if India attacked. India and Pakistan have fought three wars um between these two countries since 1947. Y'all, another chance of a nuclear attack.
01:50:19
Speaker
The world is getting crazy. We cannot have this happen. I ain't trying to die by a nuclear bomb. That's not the way I want to go out. If I want to go out, I want to go out... yeah ah who I want to go out some... Look, let's just say I don't want to go out by a damn nuclear bomb. So we need to figure something out because obviously...
01:50:40
Speaker
A lot of countries out there have nuclear bombs. and we are, we can now, granted, a lot of them can't reach us from where they're at. But the fact that they even have them and could possibly be used against us is scary enough.
01:50:56
Speaker
um So, you know, two stories in a row where we just talked about countries that don't involve... We're Israel's ally. But other than that, don't involve us having nuclear weapons that could possibly affect us. Because again, as I tell you every time on this program, the United States is the world power.
01:51:15
Speaker
Shit rolls uphill. We get the rest of the world's crap. That's what happened. All right. Moving on to our last story of the day.
01:51:27
Speaker
In response. ah
01:51:31
Speaker
Nope. Never mind.
01:51:34
Speaker
Nope, never mind. already you said that. Oh, that's what it was. Yes. Moving on. Last story of the day. In some positive news.

Innovative Science and Viewer Engagement

01:51:40
Speaker
I guess this isn't really positive. But it's some interesting news. ah Scientists have figured out how to create T-Rex leather.
01:51:50
Speaker
Yes, you have heard me correct. The dinosaur. The T-Rex with the little arms that ran around. like Little arms. T-Rex.
01:52:03
Speaker
They took DNA of T-Rex collagen that lasted in um the fossilized over 80 million years. They found, they extracted collagen from T-Rexes. And they're going to use that collagen.
01:52:15
Speaker
um They're going to use that column they're gonna use that collagen to create leather. So whatever, you'll be able to have some some T-Rex leather ah you know shoes, a T-Rex leather handbag.
01:52:29
Speaker
But obviously T-Rexes aren't around anymore. So this is for your for your PETA crowd. It's cruelty-free. There are no animals being hurt in this process. It's just using the DNA.
01:52:40
Speaker
Maybe this is a way that we can appease the PETA side of the aisle into not harming animals just for their coats. Like maybe we can do this with alligators and sharks and other things that are may be valuable to the ecosystem, but also valuable in terms of things that people may want to replicate when they're wearing.
01:52:59
Speaker
Don't attack me, PETA. I don't know. i love animals. Anyways, I just had to bring that up because I thought that was ah pretty interesting. um But yeah, shout out but everybody who has been watching today.
01:53:14
Speaker
ah nice little... two-hour episode, no Jurassic. um Yeah, it is. It would be a Jurassic handbag. So you'd have a Jurassic handbag, which is pretty cool. I think it's cool. I'll buy me some T-Rex shoes, some T-Rex leather gaiters.
01:53:28
Speaker
I guess they'd be T-Rex leather T-Rexes. No one knows what that means unless you actually know what gaiters are. And those are a type of shoes. mostly worn by the minority community.
01:53:42
Speaker
Anyways, let's keep it moving. right, that's it. Nice two-hour show condensed. i thought it was going to be a lot longer than that, but I skipped a lot of topics because of the fact that this... So I got a new camera.
01:53:53
Speaker
As you can see, it's moving around. It has the AI tracking, so it's actually tracking me. But I don't know that I like it yet. I got to figure out the settings because, A, I don't want it to... It didn't have my picture...
01:54:05
Speaker
right earlier so i kept having to turn it off because it had it was cutting off like my chin i was like i don't want you looking at the ceiling and now it was like looking ever like look if i go like this watch watch it's gonna turn like look hey yeah but sometimes i don't want it to do that because then if i'm just sitting there like this now look now it's all weird so you gotta yeah you gotta go like this hold your hand up then and then can move manually anyways i thought y'all should know that's what was going on Ah, all right.
01:54:36
