Speaker: Romero to join, that's a smart move by Spurs. Romero is a, I mean, I've always been a fan of him, as everyone who listens to this show knows. The level he's reached, that even takes me, who is a fan, by surprise. I mean, when he joined from Geno, I always liked him in Geno, I thought there was something there. And I was surprised that Iva didn't go for him. But this development, and he struggled last season with Atalanta in the beginning. But after November, something happened. And he was just unplayable since then.
Speaker: The following is a clip from this week's Italian football podcast.
Speaker: He's reached a level. We don't have those kinds of central defenders anymore. His timing is impeccable. His decision making is fantastic. He's as mean as Paolo Montero, but he's as disciplined as Valter Samuel. They have been able to sell a player here, a player there, and replace absolutely well. For me, this feels like this is a step too far, all within a quick span. I couldn't agree with you more. All the other transfers out I've been okay with, but this really hurts Ataranta.
