Speaker: So Paul Uddiballah is all but certain to sign for Inter on a free transfer. But how will he be remembered at Juventus? And what will his legacy be? Will he be remembered as a traitor? Will he be remembered as someone who was one of the greats? Or will he be remembered as someone who didn't really quite fulfill his potential?
Speaker: The following is a clip from this week's Italian football podcast.
Speaker: Well, any player who leaves Juventus for their eternal enemy, Inter, will unfortunately be remembered as a traitor. And that's how most Juventus fans feel. I think it's a little bit unfair in the sense that Inter are the only team that have put in a concrete offer for him.
Speaker: So it's not like Di Bala had the option of joining someone else. But that is also quite reflective of the player that Di Bala has become. He's declined. The last four seasons, he's only scored 30 set -of -year goals. When you add that to the number of injuries that he's had, that shows why there isn't any other interest in him.
Speaker: As for how he will be remembered on the pitch, his legacy, he won't be one of the greats. He's not a Platinie, a Zidane, a Del Piero, the great number 10s that Juventus had. He had an excellent first three seasons. Everybody remembers the Barcelona game. But since then, he's had his form and his fitness has really gone down. So he won't be missed that much by
Speaker: And Milan, Milan are searching for a new centre back. Spend Botman, it looked like the deal was done, but now Newcastle have come in with a huge offer. Should Milan really be spending big on a centre back?
Speaker: I've thought about this, and I don't think they should break their budget to sign bottom, because I thought Kalulu, Tomori, and Manion, that trident back then was just absolutely outstanding. But I would personally, given Kyair coming back, I would personally look to find a backup defender and put that money elsewhere. For example, Renato Sanchez is much more important for them to sign. A right winger is much more important for them to sign. Kalulu and Tomori were outstanding together.
