We saw Alain Martin's new film Forgotten Occupation: The Jim Crow South Comes to Haiti at the Art of Brooklyn Film Festival where it won Audience Choice and Outstanding feature documentary award. We ask the question, what can we learn about occupation of Haiti by American Marines from 1915-1930s with regards to the crisis in Haiti today.
