@NVIDIA is pushing the industry toward #800V #DC power distribution to support the next generation of megawatt-scale #AI #infrastructure. That helps solve the power-delivery problem — but it also creates a new challenge: How do you switch and protect high-voltage DC quickly, efficiently, and in both directions?

NVIDIA itself is positioning 800V DC as a key architecture for future AI factories and is working with Google, Microsoft, and the broader OCP ecosystem on the transition.

In our latest SmartTechCheck EduSeries episode, we look inside the #solid-state #circuit #breaker at the semiconductor challenge — including conventional SiC MOSFET approaches, Ideal Power’s B-TRAN® architecture, and the evidence behind its bidirectional operation, conduction loss, device count, and fault-interruption performance.

The bigger question is becoming more important: As NVIDIA and the data-center ecosystem move toward 800V DC, which semiconductor architectures are best suited to protect and control that power?
