Tom provides a surprising update about his upcoming trip in November. Sleigh rides return to Fort Wilderness this holiday season after a long absence. Disney provided a preview of the Benjamin Clawhauser animatronic that will be part of the new show “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!”. The current animatronics in “Frozen Ever After” at EPCOT will be upgraded to the newest versions, providing realistic facial expressions instead of projections. Disney announced the opening season for “Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets”, released a new attraction poster, and previewed the animatronics that will be featured in the attraction. The guys review Hocus Pocus and Halloween themed merch. Disneyland announced a new discounted ticket package and a new addition to Storybook Land Canal Boats, Rapunzel’s Tower.

Booking and Excitement for Bay Lake Tower Stay

Yeah. Yeah, you you've kind of filled me in a little bit on this. I did. a So I know this all goes back to your your upcoming trip that you're taking with the Christmas party and all that. Right. This this this evolved a lot recently, just like in the past month. Right. Because then I talked about it on the show like.

The original plan was the the party and then we were going to leave the party, you know, whenever we left the party and then drive back to my mom's house. Right. Great plan. Fine. Except it's not because we want to stay as late as possible. And i we want to you know, it's it's not a short drive. It's not a long drive, but it's not a short drive either. It's like an hour and a half, two hours. Right.

Which at the end of a Christmas party, that's it is a long drive. Yeah. Yeah. So we talked about this on the show and you were like, yeah, you should get a room. Right. Okay. Well, that kind of morphed into a couple of different things. Like we were looking at different things, obviously in different rooms. And, and, you know, I realized, you know, I'm with, I have six people in my group and it's, I can't just like book a room for myself, you know, and no one else be like, Hey, I'm just go book a studio. The rest of you, you know, kick rocks. Like, you know what I mean? I mean, you could, but I'm not going to do that.

We're ah six weeks out here. And it's it's, you know, I think, as everybody knows, first of all, we're talking one of the busiest weeks of the year.

So I, you know, of course, I did a wait list, which is, you know. whatever like i don't think i've ever actually gotten a waitlist because i whenever i'm trying to find something i literally will just have my browser open all day and just keep hitting refresh until something comes up you know what i mean yeah like instead of doom scrolling on my phone i have the website up and i just keep it refreshed until something comes up so i had gotten a one bedroom at uh wilderness lodge but it was a copper green technically right which still isn't enough for me right because i need room for six people right

So I had, you know, waitlist out there. was still refreshing to see if I can get something else. And last weekend, just week ago here, I was, you know, just the morning time. was just, you know, doing my morning wake up thing.

I'm on my phone. I, you know, pull up my phone and and what pops up Trevor, but a grand villa at Bay Lake tower. Now, You mean like the perfectly most ideal place you could be for the party? That is the place I mean, yes. um With, you know, the big giant windows, the two floors that faces out to, well, some of it faces out to the park, some it faces out to the lake.

It's a giant two-floor living room with floor-to-ceiling windows where if you have a theme park for view, you can literally see the fire fireworks in Magic Kingdom. And play the audio. your large windows. From your living room.

So this, my, my, my meat my, my thought was in my head. It was like, okay, well, look, why don't I just do it? Cause it's there.

So my wife was still asleep when I did this. And so she comes down the stairs and I said, hey, can I take you into the office for a moment and tell you something? And she's like, she's very confused, obviously. Like, why would I be doing that, right? That's not how you start a morning conversation. No.

It's not. And she's still kind of, you know, in in that morning wake up haze. But I also knew I couldn't like wait to tell her this. You know, i feel like i if I told her an hour later, like, oh, by the way, would she be like, why didn't you tell me that an hour ago? You know, so. um And part of the reason I brought her to the office is as you guys know, my daughter does not know about these plans yet. And so she was right there. And I wanted to.

um So sure enough, she's very happy about it. So I went ahead and booked this. And that's what we're doing, man. We are going to stay one night at a Bay Lake Grand Villa. I'm very happy for you.

And it was the right decision. You think so? Spending that much? yeah I fully believe it is the right decision because of the plans that you have. And again, knowing myself, the the having the privilege of being able to walk back to your room after a party yeah is is a whole other level of like just... It's a vibe, right? like i I don't know how else to describe it other than You know, you know, yes, everyone goes to these parties and, you know, the night ends and people are, you know, filing out of the park and trying to find their way back to wherever they're staying. Right. And knowing that you're just like right there, you know, you're you're going to look at you're you're going to walk out. You're going to be just like, ah, this is great.

And no there's no no issue with it doing so. um Yeah, du i listen, I had originally, you know, because I kind of think I think I joked about this maybe on the show a couple weeks ago, but then I was like, you know, it's ah we're not going to have that much time in the room, right? It's going to be very focused on this.

But, you know, now plans have changed a little bit, right? Because we'll probably go down there earlier than we were going to, right? With the hopes that the room may be ready before the party. maybe you know hopeful like three o'clock or something like that and then we can hang out there for a little bit um and now also we're going to do breakfast after um which we were not planning on doing um and but that you know the other consideration and and actually becky and discord shout out to you for this i think uh was you were like you need to make that breakfast for like 11 o'clock on so you can maximize the amount of time you have in that room and i'm like that's a good call like good call becky

Like, you know, so ah luckily, though, like if you look at like, um so here's the thing. We've done a lot of the breakfast options around. The one thing we haven't done is Ohana for breakfast.

I said, listen, I am undefeated with Disney reservations. I will get it.

I was like, no i never leave my phone why why am i doing it now every time my phone goes off i like pull it out my pocket like as fast i can she like but i'm gonna get it i'm gonna get it it's gonna happen you think it's gonna happen yeah in the meantime we have a chef mickey's and that's obviously extraordinarily convenient oh okay so so you couldn't get an ohana so you'll settle for chef mickey's walking from your grand villa shut up yeah oh yeah the bougie that that yeah you know i'm i'm i'm just gonna call it yeah you know call like you see it i get it you know enjoy it i'm not you know obviously i'm just poking fun enjoy it absolutely you're welcome to fly down throw calgary and spend a night there with us we have plenty of space uh yeah i i wish i could but that's uh yeah that's that's a crazy thing to do

Yeah. how great is that so but you anyway put your luggage away and go to the park yeah i had to talk about this because i am not the person that does stuff like this now given i did this a couple of years ago because we had points to burn that were expiring where we stayed in the cat in the copper creek cabin for a night which again but we had nothing to do though right like so we got to spend the whole night in that cat like we weren't doing the parks or anything like we could spend the whole night in the in the cabin and morning in the cabin so it wasn't We got good quality time in there and, you know, using the little personalized hot tub and all that stuff. That was it's fantastic. But so I don't typically do this, but because we only did a couple days at Disney this year, so we really hadn't used our points all that much. And we had a bunch that we, you know, we're just going to bank anyway for next year. And we have plenty for next year. So i was like, you know what?

there' there's new stuff to see check out the new additions uh yeah i i find the most interesting part of this that i find is the concept art which looks like it was either hand painted or they uh made a digital version and then applied the filter to it to make it look like it was hand painted it does look actually like it was hand painted but you know that filter is pretty good too it's kind hard to tell so i mean it it is pretty accurate to what the boats look like like if yeah you've seen them. It's like, yeah, that that's what I expect it's going to look like.

It doesn't seem too outlandish to me, but yeah, I think the more I'm looking at it, it looks like they took a picture and like you said, they, they, they, they applied a filter to an existing picture of Storybook land canal, but then I think that somebody went in and added the, uh, probably the actually, yeah, it's probably because they did the concept art for it.

And this way they can like overlay the concept art into a picture without looking out of place because then it's, yeah you know, it's all kind of the same artistic format.

Or maybe somebody hand painted it. they I mean, they listen to Imagineering has painters that do this kind of stuff. So I do, but i'm I'm just looking at that. That's a lot of detail on the water ripples that, uh, Yeah, i the water ripples would be really a pain in the butt.

Yeah. I was looking at those tears like, ah gosh, I didn't even paint that. I'm not a painter, so I don't know. But I mean, yeah, I'm sure somebody is really good at can do it. But it's like that. That to me looks like a picture of of the boats.
