Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : All right. We are back with episode three. Thanks for coming back. Tim, how are we feeling?

Tim Linehan: oh man i'm feeling good i woke up very excited for this i'm ready this has been uh a really fun two weeks and i'm ready to do another one tonight

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Should be good. Feels like ah the old days of getting ready to play pickup hoops. You still playing any hoops or no?

Tim Linehan: Oh, no pickup hoops for me. Nobody wants to see me pick up. Nobody wants to see me tear my knee, tear my Achilles. The last time I played a game.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : You're out.

Tim Linehan: I organized a back -to -school pickup game with the eighth grade boys and the and the staff.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Oh boy.

Tim Linehan: trying to build some culture, right do the right thing. Teachers are all in. I'm the point guard two minutes in. Pass it to my friend on the wing. Good athlete little older than us, but in shape And he takes one dribble, pushes off, falls to the ground, turns and looks back. And that's like the classic. I knew he did it his Achilles right there.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Has there been a faculty -student game since, or is that was that it?

Tim Linehan: There has not We did like a three -point shooting contest.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : There.

Tim Linehan: We did a free throw shooting contest, but there has not, and I haven't played a true game of pickup since that's about five years.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : yeah

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : All right, well, I guess this is what we have to get fired up for, right? Thursday night, Friday night podcast, okay?

Tim Linehan: That's it. Butterflies in your belly now.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : All right, well, here we go. So tonight on pregame, we got some thank yous to give. We got a few shout outs to give, right? In terms of game time, I think the meat of this episode is going to focus on schedule analysis and where we project BC to possibly land.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : And then we'll end in our overtime session looking at games that gutted us, games that just crushed us, those crushing losses that we all have. So I know to start it off in terms of pregame, did you want to offer a couple of thank yous and a shout out or two?

Tim Linehan: Yeah, first of all, we have to thank AJ Black. Very cool of him to invite us on to Locked On after just two episodes. um It was. Just... Looking at myself, obviously I had to watch it back just to see what we looked like, right?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah, quick side note there you when you approached me about this you said this would just be an audio

Tim Linehan: And.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : podcast. I did not know that our faces were going to be on Instagram and YouTube. ah Camera ready was not part of the deal. Just ah just a note there.

Tim Linehan: No, and here we are now just clips little clips here and there

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Here we are. Yeah.

Tim Linehan: and then watching it back you know it looked like around the horn right and i was looking at that and it made me think of you know the old days of of sitting around the brown couch, hanging out with Pat, one of our best friends.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Just a little bit.

Tim Linehan: And when somebody made a good point. Pat would always go boop boop. And we would be scoring our conversations as if we're on Around the Horn.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : can write write write Right,

Tim Linehan: And that's a tradition that still exists in my house. Me and my wife will say, boop, boop. One of the kids say something, make a good point. When we all meet up, you know, our three or four traditions a year. people go boop boop when something's right so who knows maybe maybe people are scoring us at home Me too.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : i love it

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Well, I thought you had a particularly good episode, just saying.

Tim Linehan: Oh.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : so

Tim Linehan: So maybe we'll have to watch it back and say.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I don't know. I'm not i'm not watching it anymore. I can't keep looking at myself on the YouTube. I watched it a couple of times too. But anyways.

Tim Linehan: So huge thanks huge thanks to AJ. And then on Twitter, one of our first responders, first not first responders, one of our first tweeters was Brian McCabe.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah.

Tim Linehan: He said, listen this afternoon.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : He's a diehard.

Tim Linehan: every Every BC Hoop sicko should subscribe. today was a great trip back to the awesome days of the 90s era hoops of bc And Brian's just he seems like he's all in. He seems like he's got the bug like we do.

Tim Linehan: and i just i love it and it's it's so far the best part of what we've been doing

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Totally agree. Just hearing from people from all over the place, different classes when they graduated BC, different backgrounds that are excited for positive the possibility of a good season. It is. It's been energizing to hear. Mitchell Roy hit us up. This was pretty cool.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : he He wrote, you know, really great pod guys. My brother and I are both high school coaches. And basically they said they listened to the pod. They love Luke Murray and they got season tickets this year just to watch his offense. So just hearing from someone that maybe doesn't even have a huge base BC affiliation, but it's a high school coach in the area. I thought that was really cool. And again. That's.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : This has been the coolest part about doing it is the community that comes out and that is built around it.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, and I think the X and O heads are are really into this, really into Luke and the idea of watching something cool so close to home. So we got the basketball people. We've got the. former friends of ours not former friends friends of ours reaching out who we haven't talked to in a while it's just been really fun and we want to keep it going What we do need, though.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : And then, of course, Tegan. Tegan, my wife, hit us up too.

Tim Linehan: Oh yes.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : She listens on her drive into Boston, her commute.

Tim Linehan: She's a huge hoop head, right? She loves ball

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Hoop head. Yep. verbatim the text read I literally have no idea what I'm listening to right now. I don't understand a thing, but you both sound great. So, hey. we We even just just the sound of our voice, I think, is being is appealing right now to folks.

Tim Linehan: Well, it's your voice. Your voice, I mean, is has... you know made waves on the internet so we'll say One thing we need

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Face for radio for sure

Tim Linehan: One thing we need is a hashtag. um I know we're new to the game. We're new to the space. And we're not trying to disrespect everybody that came. has come that has come before us. We've seen them all out there. We've seen the climb. We've seen new era.

Tim Linehan: We've seen defend the nut. The one I actually like the most is the Renaissance. You know who that is, right?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : that's That's the Hurley quote. who you know You know my thoughts on Hurley. I secretly love Hurley.

Tim Linehan: I could not put the Renaissance on every tweet that I send the rest of the year, just out of hurly would make me sick to my stomach, but it's a great concept. but

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : We want to unify the whole fan base with the with this hashtag, right? That's the goal.

Tim Linehan: yes we got great recruiting news coming out we have everybody hyped up we have the media stuff there's so much stuff coming out but there's a lot of different veins, right? And there's a lot of different. Peace is going on. If we could get a unified hashtag, we're up for ideas. We're not starting one, but we want to kind of bring everybody together. St. John's does one.

Tim Linehan: I'm 10 minutes late to a game i just hit refresh i watch i see somebody's in foul troubles one ref had a bad call you know this guy hit a three -pointer, boom, now I'm live and I'm ready to go. I would love to have one unified. It could be as simple as hashtag BCBB.

Tim Linehan: But that one doesn't have that much juice. so

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah, let's let's send it out on Twitter or on X and Instagram.

Tim Linehan: just

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Send it out to the masses. Get some feedback and see if we can rally the troops. See what we get.

Tim Linehan: Yep, absolutely.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Sound good? Should we move to game time tonight?

Tim Linehan: That's it let's tip this off and let's get in there

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Okay. so Really what we said that the meat and potatoes part of this episode, the game time piece is going to be a look at their schedule. All right. And I think we just want to frame the discussion for everybody out there.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : by by stating... that two things can be true at once, right? and we we the first thing that can be true is what we've established in these opening two episodes is that the The Luke Murray hire is universally praised.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : There's a good vibe and good buzz around BC basketball. People are into it. People are interested. recruiting is on the uptick. It feels like there's momentum in the program for the first time in a long time.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : That's true.

Tim Linehan: but um I know you're giving me a button coming right now

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : There's a bot. Right? or an and, however you want to view it. They might not be that good this year. Like all those things might be true. And...

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : They have 12 new players and a first -year head coach and a hard schedule for the most part when you look at the ACC side of it. they might just not be that good this year so The ultimate question that we want to try to dive into in this episode is.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : what What defines a successful season this year for BC? because If you look at... Basically every preseason pick. that these have come out in the last few days, really.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : When you look at the advanced analytics, whether it's Ken Palm or Torvik, which have the exact same numbers for BC. They project BC to go 15 and 17. overall. and to go 5 -13 in the ACC.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : and to be ranked. below 100. overall. Basically a bottom five P14.

Tim Linehan: o We're not big computers guys. I know we give you a lot of data, but we don't love the concept of going into a season rated as something. These guys have never played before. It's a new coach. It's a new system. But just... That's letting you guys know where.

Tim Linehan: they stand nationally in the computers and the computers do matter and then if you want to go human beings ACC Media comes out, everybody's fired up, the podcast is going, and then I get one of my friends on the side who are texting me like,

Tim Linehan: Did I just read BC's picked 17th out of 18th? And you started a podcast on it? I'm not sad. Yes.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : You could look at that. of A few different ways. I look at it like we're getting in at the bottom floor. but There's nowhere to go but up right now. Great time to start a podcast, in my opinion.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, I mean, one of the... Arguably. the worst power four team who hasn't made the tournament in 17 years and now's the time right now's the time we can only go up from here

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I love it, but... to your point and to what we just established we're excited everybody's excited we got hit with a bit of sobering we did get hit with a bit of sobering reality this week when All the advanced analytics came out.

Tim Linehan: I have one

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : ACC, preium you know, like we said, the media preseason projections come out. And essentially, BC is viewed as one of the worst P4 teams in America this year.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, and they're going to have to change the narrative, right? And I have a kind of some cool information, not kind of, very cool information that's going to turn.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Give us some hope. Hope is the theme here of this podcast.

Tim Linehan: Turn this negativity around.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Hope is the theme.

Tim Linehan: so i saw i saw where we were rated and i'm like all right does this ever happen does anybody who's picked last or second to last make the tournament. End. It does. It's happened three times in the last four years.

Tim Linehan: three times in the last four years.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Love it.

Tim Linehan: and the common denominator was a new coach So not only has it happened, but it's happened in the first year of a new coach. It happened at Iowa State under T .J. Otzelberger. who's a stud coach.

Tim Linehan: He wears his t -shirts too tight, but he's a great coach.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Great coach.

Tim Linehan: had ah had buzz going in, like Luke. K -State. Did it with Jerome Tang, first year.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Wow.

Tim Linehan: And then South Carolina also did it. Nobody did it last year, but three of the last four years, it has happened. and two of those three it happened with a new coach so we check a couple of those boxes the computers don't know anything they're trying to figure something out So...

Tim Linehan: forget the computers we're eye test guys we're gonna see luke running insane offense against Wagner in a couple weeks. And the rest will be history.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah, we wanted to just give you that. that as So as we go through this schedule, it is. Hey, listen, we're fair. right Fair and balanced around here. We're hopeful, but fair and balanced. That is.

Tim Linehan: Yeah.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : the preseason expectation nationally. We think they will outpace that. But. That is the preseason expectation. So keep that in the back of your mind. when we take you through this schedule and we'll start with the non -conference schedule okay So.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, we we want to be real with everybody we are Not. through maroon and gold colored glasses fully we're going to be glass half full but you know there's a chance this team could be 500 or slightly above and we're gonna break that all down

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : And also, I think it's good to have realistic expectations. Like. we don't want to go into this year and be like it's ncaa tournament or bust that that is not the case you know so as we As we go through this...

Tim Linehan: Yeah, it's silly

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : consider what makes this a successful season i think that if we can come out of this pod maybe defining that, that's a win for us, right?

Tim Linehan: Yes, let's do it.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : It's a 32 -game schedule. Last year, they played 31. They went 11 -20 last year. They went 4 -14 in the ACC last year. they went seven and six in the non -conference so let's start with the non -conference schedule okay i'm gonna give you a bit of numbers here and then let you weigh in

Tim Linehan: Well do you remember when you sent it to me originally?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Okay. First thought you had. maybe three weeks ago when I texted you.

Tim Linehan: I thought.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Okay, the non -conference schedule's out. What do you think?

Tim Linehan: Oh man, I thought it was a joke. I couldn't believe some of the names of the teams. I've been you know all in on St. John's in last in the Patino years. End. he's scheduling up, right? It's Alabama, it's Arizona. And then I opened this up and I saw. stonehill and new haven and maryland eastern shore and i I had to do a double take.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : It. It was a little jarring at first to see, right? So there's 14 games in the non -conference. Eight of those games. are versus sub -250 Ken Palm rated teams.

Tim Linehan: And there's 350 teams in the country. So those are eight of the worst 100 teams we're playing. So you have to win all of them. You have to.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Those are eight games that you have to win.

Tim Linehan: They might not. They might drop one.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : They really should, but they might not. We can get into that momentarily, but I broke it up into 14 games, eight of them. Our sub 250 Ken Palm. Three of them. Or what we call mid -tier games. That's what we're calling them.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : where the the teams are facing here. are ranked between 110 and 160 in Ken Palm. Those games are a neutral game against UMass. A home game against George Washington.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : and then An interesting road game at Harvard. I would give a quick plug for any BC student or any local fan to go to that basketball game Harvard I went to a game there last year against Northeastern it's a great stadium it's a great take you're on top of the action That'd be a fun. you know weeknight game to go check out.

Tim Linehan: There's buzz on Twitter that people are trying to go at Tommy Amaker still there Then I went on then i went on Ken Palm and Torvik and saw that BC is technically a dog in that game as we stand right now.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Right.

Tim Linehan: Now things change.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Wow.

Tim Linehan: but they're a dog at Harvard.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : And they're barely favored In terms of beating George Washington, who won 19 games last year, remember they lost to UMass last year too, BC.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, so inevitably. they are going to drop one of those three games and our phone is going to get lit up like a Christmas tree. that you got.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : That's happening.

Tim Linehan: You're totally...

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : That might happen all year. I don't know. I feel like...

Tim Linehan: well

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yes.

Tim Linehan: It could happen all year, but if it's going to happen in November, then people are going to be like, you... You guys did what? but We believe in Luke. We believe in the system. and And we think things are going to change. But they might drop one.

Tim Linehan: This is what happened.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Okay. I agree. The next three games. So eight. The first eight, like we said, sub 250. There's three games that are these mid -tier games between 110.

Tim Linehan: trap games, right? Those are the trap games.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah, trap games, 110 to 160. Then there are three games that are I would call quality opportunities. Quad one opportunities. These are three games against teams that are ranked in the top 60 of Ken Palm.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Cincinnati. They face on the in an in a neutral court site in a tournament. They face you. Central Florida in a neutral court tournament right around Thanksgiving. So that's the Feast Week tournament, Cincinnati and UCF.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : and then they played at Georgia in the SEC -ACC challenge.

Tim Linehan: And those three teams aren't going to. Make the average BC fan who's coming back in get very excited, but those are three legitimate programs UCF johnny dawkins they make the tournament every year they're long and athletic they play defense but you win that game and and that is worth that carries water right that is that's going to be worth something going on Cincinnati, new head coach, arguably one of the best hires out there.

Tim Linehan: from the factory you know, where the new head coach is from.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Jared Calhoun, Utah State, great program.

Tim Linehan: Anybody who comes from Utah State becomes the hot coach. He is there at Cincinnati. So that those are going to be two. bubbly teams. I would love them to get one. Get one at Feast Week.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I think all three of those teams though are. are tournament caliber. like could be in the tournament.

Tim Linehan: Definitely. Yes, and and

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : So...

Tim Linehan: and georgia they're gonna go to georgia

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : There.

Tim Linehan: for the ACCSEC Challenge. Georgia had a nice year last year. Have you seen Georgia's numbers?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Score a ton of points. Great offense.

Tim Linehan: 90 points per game with four starters back. No one brings four starters back at all. fifth best offense in the country. So they're going to Georgia, whether Georgia's a football school or not. That.

Tim Linehan: We can pencil that one as a loss and not worry about it. I'd love to see that show up and battle him, of course. But. Three games that don't necessarily bring in the random, hey, this isn't...

Tim Linehan: We're not scheduling, you know, UConn or something like that. but They're going to be important and they're going to show us where we are at that point in time.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah, those are three important games. Big picture, taking a step back. I mentioned this to you off. off doing the pod just on text i think and you know We know that Murray is an analytics guy, that we know he's a numbers guy, not that he's you know overly reliant on that. But when he's putting the schedule together, I feel like the one number that he prioritized was W's, was wins.

Tim Linehan: It has to be, right?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Thank you.

Tim Linehan: I mean, he must have looked.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I think he wanted to stack some wins in this non -conference.

Tim Linehan: We're going to see that the ACC is a tricky schedule. He had to get some momentum, get the kids back in Conte. put up a nice number like an 11 -3, a 10 -4. There's wins behind it.

Tim Linehan: Get the kids out. Get some juice behind the program. I mean... It has to be. it's it's it's There's a world. that we were going to root for this whole show where BC's on the bubble.

Tim Linehan: And it would be a very funny situation if BC's on the bubble and there's a blind resume up. And it says non -conference SOS 278. because of

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Right.

Tim Linehan: Because of this.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Right. Like...

Tim Linehan: That'd be a good problem to have.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah, I think we said if they don't get in the NCAA tournament because of this. non -conference schedule that would almost be a good thing that means they actually were on the bubble like we'd take it We we would take that.

Tim Linehan: Oh yeah, you can just picture like Billy's like, this is outrageous, ludicrous, and us not getting in, and that'd be fine. That would be fun.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Just to be mentioned. would be fun right you know so Big picture. They're favored in 10 of these games. in terms of looking at the the advanced analytics and the predictions they're favored in 10 of them eight of them are what we would call Pretty close to must -win. three Games they should win but are a bit tricky and then those three quality opponents How many can you get of those?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : you know I think we've we've talked about this. We're somewhere between. 10 and 4. 11 -3 would be a success when you look at this non -conference schedule. Does that sound fair?

Tim Linehan: Yeah, there's some there's some sneaky ones. Here's where I'm at. They're gonna drop one bad one. Just because. we made this podcast, right? There's just a lock that they're going to drop a bad one.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : When you say a bad one, do you think one of the sub 250 teams or do you think one of those middle games like a UMass GW Harvard?

Tim Linehan: I think possibly. Well, no. No, no, no, we're gonna win all the The trap games. like They're going to lose to GW at home, and people are going to say, what the heck is going on here, right?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : One of those middle tier games. Yeah. Yeah.

Tim Linehan: um And then. I'm gonna root for Feast week split like crazy, and I think they dropped to Georgia. So my number is 11 -3. I can stomach 10 -4, but my number is 11 -3.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I think I'm right with you. like I need to move past the PTSD that Jim Christian and Earl Grant, for that matter, put in me with. just horrific losses that I witnessed, whether it was a loss to Dartmouth.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : A loss to Hartford. My buddy went to the. took his son to the bc hartford game years and years ago they lost to hartford And then he texted to me the next day in the backyard. His son was playing hoops and imagining a game and stuff and was pretending to be a Hartford player.

Tim Linehan: har And we're saying Hartford, not even Harvard. I think Harvard's better than Hartford.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Hartford, Connecticut. And talk about, a yeah, so his son was all into Hartford basketball after they took down BC.

Tim Linehan: Yeah. And then.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Thank you, Jim Christian.

Tim Linehan: And then i did ah I did a little research on that. Christian lost to Hartford.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : what was When was that game? I was there. It was a low point.

Tim Linehan: Christian lost to Hartford. Hold on. twice in 16 and 19. I think you must have blacked out in one of those.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : i I might have.

Tim Linehan: Those were dark days for you.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : ah If I was at both of those, I mean, I... Yeah. He lost twice.

Tim Linehan: I mean...

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Okay. So I just said.

Tim Linehan: Your therapist is racking up money. Thanks to Christian.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Jim Christian. Holy cow. Seven years. I'll shade under a decade with that man watching him coach basketball. But anyways. I have to get past that and say, you know what? Murray is obsessive. Murray, I just feel like has that Hurley in him. Like he's not going to lose one of those those games. He's going to win all eight of those sub. 250 games.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : He'll go two and one in the middle. against the GW UMass Harvard and then I think he goes one and two against the quality opponents so that marks me mark me down at 11 and three that's where I'm at with the non -conference

Tim Linehan: All right, we could we could do a whiteboard if we're on the same thing. A whiteboard. Tight flex 11 and 3. Ten and four like annoyed but okay

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Bye.

Tim Linehan: Lesson 10 and 4. you might have a letter ah letter of resignation on on your desk.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : If they go like, yeah, eight and six, the pod's going to happen once a month, not once a week anymore.

Tim Linehan: Yeah. Yeah, and I'm not.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : But we promised.

Tim Linehan: I'm not crushing film.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : we'd do it for a year.

Tim Linehan: I'm not crushing Australia film anymore after that.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Oh, I meant to tell you that. ah One more thing about my wife. she did slip in this little like jab where she's like how The pod's good, you know but how are you how do you have that much time to watch Australian basketball and Slovenian basketball? And I go.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : oh i don't i don't do the film stuff i'm like that's that's linehan i just threw you right under the bus like i go that i don't do any of that i just completely Put it on you.

Tim Linehan: I'm just the homework guy and you're just pretending that you're not doing any of it.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I was like, you know what? I don't i don't know what you're talking about. That's that's his that's hiss what he does. That's his own time.

Tim Linehan: Pass the buck.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : so

Tim Linehan: Well, she better not listen this far into episode three then to know that you're watching some too.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : No. I can't believe they lost to Hartford twice. But anyway, moving on. We we have them at 11 -3.

Tim Linehan: Twice.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Whiteboard it. We are career.

Tim Linehan: Whiteboard it.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : 20%. correct when we make predictions but hey

Tim Linehan: Yeah, more like...

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Taking a shot.

Tim Linehan: seven percent But yeah, we'll go with 20. All right, we got to get into the ACC.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Okay, so if you get into the ACC, before we do it, would you you had some good info just looking big picture at all 18 teams of the ACC, like not necessarily team by team, but could you tier it for the listeners so people get a sense of... the top tier the middle tier and then really sadly where bc's projected the bottom tier

Tim Linehan: All right, I'm going to do the top tier. Tier one is five teams that I believe are a lot to make the NCAA tournament. It's Duke, it's UVA, it's Louisville. It's Miami and it's UNC. If you've been paying at all at the College of Basketball or if you're just welcome back, Duke is an absolute wagon, and then John Shire chokes in the Final Four the or the Elite Eight.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : It really does.

Tim Linehan: they're They're insane during the regular season. They're winning 90 % of their games. They dominate the ACC. Now they have the next Victor Wembanyama. This guy, Boomchay Boomchay, he's 17 years old. He's insanely good.

Tim Linehan: He has to be a Duke for two years because of how young he is. So he's the number one prospect in two years from now's draft.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : And he's big he's skilled he's long like this kid's gonna be fun to watch

Tim Linehan: Yep, we both started college at 17, so I'm rooting for him.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : You were a 17 year old freshman. That's right. You couldn't even get into the bars when we were going out.

Tim Linehan: no i couldn't get yeah anywhere and you know i'm rooting for him long wingspans underage

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : ish.

Tim Linehan: um I'm rooting for him. UVA.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Sounds like you're on the flex.

Tim Linehan: UVA is going to be an awesome team. They won 30 games last year. They bring back four starters from that team. They have a stud coach in Ryan Odom. They're kind of following the Yukon model, retain and then plug a couple holes, and that seems to be working well.

Tim Linehan: Louisville and our boy Cat Pulse. Pat Kelsey. um probably the

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : who was one time considered for the bc job he was he was in the in the mix

Tim Linehan: We thought so.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : He's a good coach. His antics get a little old, in my opinion. but

Tim Linehan: he's He's a goof right? Probably the most expensive roster maybe be in college. Flory Bedunga from Kansas, Jackson Shelstad from Oregon, Seth Trimble they're working on from UNC.

Tim Linehan: so Elite team. Those three teams are looking to win the championship or the Final Four. then my

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Duke, UVA, and Louisville, yeah.

Tim Linehan: Miami's the darling, Jay Lucas. um stud assistant coach from Duke who has got them humming right away in year one. Can we do that?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : That's the model. He was hired at to Miami as the top assistant from Duke, young coach, first -time head coach. nailed the portal and then miami made the tournament last year that is the model Their n NIL was more than BC's, obviously, but still.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, they crushed the portal and they are like the the team that people are sleeping not sleeping on, people love in the ACC. And then UNC has Mike Malone, who who knows what that's going to look like. but They have enough money and they have a roster and they have Mike Malone.

Tim Linehan: So I'm going to put them in the tournament.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : wild that he won a championship with the Nuggets just a handful of years ago, and now he's the head coach at UNC. that one Okay. It's going to be crazy to see him on the sideline.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, the roster doesn't move me. Opening day. We'll get to that later. but um

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : But we think those five teams are tournament teams.

Tim Linehan: That's it and then is the middle Tier two, the big fat middle of mediocrity.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : The jumbled middle of the ACC.

Tim Linehan: Yep, mediocrity. I'm going to make it team 6 through 15. I'm not going to rattle them all off, but you know who they are. They're Clemson. They're Virginia Tech. They're SMU. Pitt, NC State.

Tim Linehan: They're like good above average basketball teams that win like 60 % of their games. Florida State is a darling this year. I saw a little Florida State on Twitter after their scrimmage and they actually do scare me. a bit.

Tim Linehan: But these teams.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah, people like them. people like them

Tim Linehan: But these teams, this is where BC needs to be. We need to get out of the cellar and into this middle.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : when you When you look at this middle, right? These basically it's nine teams All of them? are so tightly grouped that they're ranked somewhere between 50 and 80 in kenpom like every one of them so You essentially have this nine team. middle teams that are All bubble teams.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : And. three or four will emerge and make the tournament. Now.

Tim Linehan: Yep.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : BC is not even in this group yet in terms of preseason prognos prognosticators, right? That's that's the issue.

Tim Linehan: No, and... Okay. The ACC got eight teams last year. So like you said, three to four of these teams will pop. We gave you the top five. We would love it to be BC to be one of those three or four teams, but we're not even in there, right? We're not even in the conversation.

Tim Linehan: BC is tier three. It's a clear bottom when you look at. the preseason poll when you look at the computers. The bottom three, do you know who else is down there with us besides BC?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I do. Sadly, it's a clear bottom three. I saw this with the preseason ACC media projections, the votes. It was clear. The bottom three were Notre Dame. BC and Georgia Tech. And we we tiered it this way because we know that the bottom three...

Tim Linehan: yeah Yikes.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Don't even qualify for the ACC tournament.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, that's something that has to... stop happening, right? How many?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Two years in a row, BC has not played an ACC tournament game.

Tim Linehan: Net. That has to stop. So the ACC is going to go for nine teams in an expanded field. Our goal, our dream is to get. in there as one of those nine. We're talking about our dream, our goal. Luke said it himself at Media Day.

Tim Linehan: He said, and when one asked about the tournament, he said, absolutely. That is our goal. If it's not your goal. What are you doing? You need to make it your goal. So if that's what Luke is going about, then that's gonna be what how we're attacking this whole episode is.

Tim Linehan: Is there a path? Is there a way to get there?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah, it's a great point like the Murray, you know, he basically said like Yet not like guaranteeing the tournament or anything, but he basically basically said, yes, the goal every year is to make the tournament. Like that's the goal. And I thought it was refreshing that he said that. And I think that should be every. college basketball team's goal.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Truly. make the tournament, and then see what happens.

Tim Linehan: Yep, and I love that he said it and he put it out there and I hope the guys believe it too expanded field 76 teams we're going to get into it there's a lot of mediocrity that gets into the tournament um you know all this uh ncaa football expansion is coming out there right they're just watering things down so this is

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : So eight teams got in last year, including, you know as you said, SMU got in with an 8 -10 ACC record last year.

Tim Linehan: playing into...

Tim Linehan: No one. anywhere has B .C. anywhere close even to Tyr. 2. Just so you guys know.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah, we

Tim Linehan: Everywhere they're 18, they're 16, they're 16, they're 17. They're nowhere near it. The highest one we saw. We're going to shout out Shooty Hoops. Shooty Hoops had BC 9th. They loved Murray. They loved Money Williams.

Tim Linehan: It's actually a beautiful platform. Check out Shooty Hoops. they're not giving me a penny for this. But they did some good homework. They had BC ninth. we have no lives and we're spending our time looking at this stuff and no one No one has that anywhere close.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah. In terms of that was the highest we saw them ninth. Now we were, what we're trying to do is tell you like what they would. have to do to make the tournament that we're not saying we think they will make the tournament okay just to clarify but what we are saying is if you get into the tier two middle group And you emerge in there.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : And you're somewhere between 19 and 21 wins. and you're somewhere around 500 in the ACC. with a 76 team NCAA tournament, you will be in the bubble discussion.

Tim Linehan: So let's do it. Let's get into the ACC.

Tim Linehan: what's What's the schedule look like?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : January. Okay, so when we look at this ACC schedule, we're going to basically chunk it into two months, all right? There's eight games in January and there's eight games in February. Tim, you mentioned a few minutes ago.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : it made sense that murray wanted to stack some wins in the non -conference When you get to January and you look at their ACC schedule in January, Now you know why he wanted to stack some wins early on.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Okay.

Tim Linehan: Yet.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : this

Tim Linehan: there's an

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yes, please.

Tim Linehan: We play 18 ACC games. The computers are predicting us to win five of them. But then when you really get down to the nitty gritty, we're technically only favored today.

Tim Linehan: To win. Guess how many ACC games?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I saw this in terms of. Just raw percentages. One.

Tim Linehan: <unk> I'm going to... Spit out. Water through my nose here. One ACC game.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : One.

Tim Linehan: We're making a podcast about a team that the computers believe is going to win one league game today. Now, through all the math and the algorithms, they so they're spitting out five. But if you just look today based on.

Tim Linehan: Who would be favored? Home against Georgia Tech is the one game.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : They won four last year.

Tim Linehan: Peace.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : And the projection is the five this year. And again, i we we are bullish that they are going to far. They're going to do better than the than the computers and the preseason. predictions. right but we're just giving you that this is this is the national feeling on them. Okay. So here's the eight games in.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : January. I'm just gonna name them. and then i want you to maybe just talk briefly about each of them but i just want people to just hear like in totality, what the the first eight ACC games are in January.

Tim Linehan: scary Scary names coming.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : North Carolina at home. Clemson at home. Virginia Tech on the road. Virginia on the road. Duke at home. Syracuse on the road. Pit on the road.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Louisville at home.

Tim Linehan: Oh my gosh. So that's all all the tier ones.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I mean Louisville? uva and duke as you said are the true national champion final four contenders you face all of them. in the first eight game you're in the first month of ACC play. and North Carolina, I might add.

Tim Linehan: North Carolina, yep. and Clemson where we're not big Brad Brownell guys, but They're always in the tournament. They're always in the top.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : What?

Tim Linehan: Six -ish.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : rock solid program.

Tim Linehan: Yeah.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : rock solid program.

Tim Linehan: so Saying that's an easy game is not. And then Virginia Tech on the road. People kind of like Virginia Tech.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yes. On the road, any ACC game on the road is hard. they're a borderline tournament team. carrier dome syracuse i mean we like jerry mcnamara we liked him for the bc job when he was mentioned

Tim Linehan: I mean, Jerry McNamara at that Sienna Duke game, if anybody watched, like they were scaring Duke. They had them. ah So. you I have a ton of Syracuse family.

Tim Linehan: And I would love BC to go up there and to win. but you know. they They are probably, I'm sure there's a new Syracuse podcast, right? Because they've been in the dumps and now they're fired up that they have Jerry McNamara.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Sure.

Tim Linehan: They have Carmelo's son still. And, you know. This would it's just another game that if you look at it quickly oh it's no big deal that's like very easily a loss on the road.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : So when we looked at this the highest probability,

Tim Linehan: at sta case

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : in terms of the models. any of any of these eight games in january The highest probability they have to win a game is a 32 % chance, and it's the home game versus Clemson.

Tim Linehan: Wait, and say that a little slower. So there's eight games in January.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Eight games in January.

Tim Linehan: The computers think.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : And.

Tim Linehan: Our best chance to win.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Basically that. is a 32 % chance versus Clemson. That's the highest. pro you know In terms of all the probabilities, everything else is below a 32 % chance to win.

Tim Linehan: Oh man, so so we need to...

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Peace.

Tim Linehan: What do we need to do with January?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : BC has to survive January. Right. you you just have to survive january because you look at it and they could go 0 -8 and I'm not Saying that. to be critical i'm not saying that to to like poke fun like i'm just legitimately saying those are eight challenging games. Pit.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : you look at a beat pit but pits on the road like an acc game on the road is hard It's just a it's a monster January. that i think they just have to survive i don't know what you think but What's the record?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : to survive January.

Tim Linehan: So to survive it. is surviving at two and six. I think when I look at this up close.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I think two and six. if you can survive january and two and six and just avoid a catastrophe of like one and seven or oh and eight That's my fear.

Tim Linehan: Two and six. Well, here's here's the flip side. to We're being pretty negative here. These are massive opportunities, right? This is what college basketball is all about. You have UNC and Duke. coming. to your home Clemson coming to your home.

Tim Linehan: you go and Louisville coming here. So like you win one of them and that's Luke's moment for the season. It's a court storm. You have. big buy and even if they're only one in five at that point in january right so there is opportunity However,

Tim Linehan: If you look at n NIL stuff, these teams are operating on another stratosphere.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : They are yeah I love your point, though. like you you You have literally UNC, that could be a court storm. ah duke that would be a court storm in louisville that would be a court storm like you have three incredible opportunities.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : They're just coming in the first month of ACC play with a brand new coach and 12 new players. the The timing. I don't think is ideal.

Tim Linehan: it's It's a schedule I would have loved for year two. If this was year two and there's retention, right? And money's back and Furphy's back and Benjamin's back. And then they added the new freshmen that are going to be studs and the system, they're just a well -oiled machine. And now you have Duke coming and and you have.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Right.

Tim Linehan: louisville coming to town and now you're like oh man this is this is it now like this is your Your year two jump, right? Everybody makes a year two jump, but it's not. It's year one. And it's the beginning of ACC. And our team is really a bunch of...

Tim Linehan: mid -major all -stars who are leveling up. And Furfy, who... Barely played at all at UConn.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : So you've got to survive January. Okay.

Tim Linehan: Survive January.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : And then again, not AI, but a little little thing I came up with. Survive January. and then thrive in February.

Tim Linehan: Survive and thrive.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : So just... Just survive it. and then start to thrive.

Tim Linehan: That feels like a hashtag.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Because they...

Tim Linehan: Did you just do it?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Could work. and That might catch on. We'll have to see. February.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, i don't think I don't think we can do that after like Wagner and Maryland Eastern Shore though, right? We need to save that for for ACC play.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Gosh, they just... Please just win those early season games and get some momentum going, right? I just, every time I hear these, those.

Tim Linehan: Yes.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : those buy games that get scared.

Tim Linehan: 11 and 3. 11 and 3. Just talk it and talk it into the space.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : There we go. but Then it gets tough. Survive January, but then thrive in February. And the reason we think they can thrive in February. is because there's eight games in February. And I wanna do the same exercise that we just did. I'm just gonna read.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : the games and then let you talk about them a bit just so people hear I just think hearing and rattling off the 8 in January scares you, but then you hear the 8 in February. It's away at Wake Forest. home against Notre Dame.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : home against Georgia Tech. away against NC State. Home against SMU, home against Virginia Tech. and then you take the the west coast road trip away at California, away at Stanford.

Tim Linehan: So that's the middle. It's tier two. There's not one blue blood in there. We...

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : every one of those teams is in that middle. that we talked about earlier when you tiered the ACC. These are all the teams that you're vying with. to try to actually break into the middle of these 50th to 80th ranked teams and people think you're ranked about 100th.

Tim Linehan: And they all...

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : It's like, can they do that? Can they break into that?

Tim Linehan: They all have issues. right NC State, new coach. Everyone's got roster turnover. Everybody's got things going on, just like BC does. right We're just starting. from the place of, oh, it's BC, so they got to be down there.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : There's no game In this list that I go, that's an impossible win. Right.

Tim Linehan: I mean, you you texted me 8 -0.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I do think like.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I don't know if I did. you're saying In the notes, you said I i said they could go 8 -0 in this stretch.

Tim Linehan: What did I make that up you texted me? at No, i I'll find it screenshot it put it on Twitter for everybody

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : That feels ambitious. That feels like really thriving. i

Tim Linehan: You said they could do it. That's your point?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Well.

Tim Linehan: Your point is you're not scared of anyone. If you took them all at standalone games and we believe in Luke Murray and we like the guys he got.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yes.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Sure.

Tim Linehan: They could win every single one of these games.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : the The counter to that, though, just again, we're fair and balanced. you look at like a road trip out west and you're like all right you got to play cow in stanford Cal and Stanford both won 20 -plus games last year.

Tim Linehan: That rocked me when I saw that. I did not realize that.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Mark Madsen, Kyle Smith, good coaches. You're on the road. They went 21 -12 and 20 -13.

Tim Linehan: Your boy at Stanford, he's gone.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : like we've

Tim Linehan: He's in the NBA, right?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Oh, he was a great player, the guard at Stanford. but By the way, from New England. BC didn't recruit him. Anyways. anyways It. So I should say... Yes, you could win all those eight games, but we've said this too.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : We cannot take one game for granted. Literally not one game for granted. When you're when you're BC basketball, every single...

Tim Linehan: No.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : game. Is a blessing to win truly Yep.

Tim Linehan: Yep, you sound like a scarred scarred man saying that Every game is a blessing to win. that's i'm gonna umm Maybe hashtag blessed after we beat.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Did that.

Tim Linehan: Stonehill every.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : That was like truly from the like, I think I might have forgot I was on a podcast talking.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, and you were just...

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : out loud there like that was but that

Tim Linehan: Just...

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : If you know, you know. If you've been through... if you It's almost... We're not the Cleveland Browns because they're an NFL team, but it's just like if you are a like diehard BC fan. it to stick with them. like Yeah.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : it It takes a lot of... Just.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, you got it got a little Screw loose a little bit, one might say.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Something's not right.

Tim Linehan: And they're and they're out there.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah. But, but.

Tim Linehan: they're in They're in my Twitter mentions and they're writing such nice things to us. So there's lots of them out there that are.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : There's a lot of tortured souls out there in BC basketball.

Tim Linehan: Maybe just as damn. Just as damaged as you are. Yeah. um

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah.

Tim Linehan: what i was

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Okay, back to the schedule.

Tim Linehan: Yeah back to the schedule um

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Eight? No, I don't think. How about six and two? How about you go two and six and then you go six and two and look up your eight and eight in the ACC with two to go in March?

Tim Linehan: How about this? You just played the varsity schedule, right? So you practiced against the varsity all through January and now you're playing.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : And just survive.

Tim Linehan: And now you're playing the JV.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yep.

Tim Linehan: No offense to these teams, but literally it's a money game. All of these teams are spending less money. uh and now you're running the system that everybody says is complicated it's going to work out the kinks And you're going to go six and two.

Tim Linehan: And I'm going to say they're going to beat SMU and Virginia Tech. And that's February.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I love that those two games are at home in February.

Tim Linehan: Yep, those are two bubble teams teams that are predicted to be right on that tournament edge and that's gonna generate a bunch of buzz and there's going to be like i'm going to wake up and be like i'm going to check bracketology we're going to be on the next Four out.

Tim Linehan: and I'm going to have my son and daughter, and we're going to be like, look, they're on the Bracketology page for the first time in what feels like 15 years.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I love the optimism. and Look, I mean...

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : You just have to avoid the catastrophic January. That's my worry. like if you if you If you go 0 -8 in January and and the wheels come off, it's going to be tough to thrive in February. You've just got to survive it when it, win two games, steal a game here or there. Then, like you said, the offense gets...

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : kicked into gear you're humming and then you can make some hay in february in march You got two games against Notre Dame and Florida State. Split those two games. All of a sudden you're close to 500 in the ACC. Like that's what I'm trying to will into existence. And I do see a bit of a path there. I think it's.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Not an easy path, but... If you squint you can see it.

Tim Linehan: Yep. Yeah, and and stealing one game in January, like a one big one, that would bring ah ah that would do wonders for for Luke. um

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : How about just one time? Just. just just a huge upset just just one time in january what do you think

Tim Linehan: one time like College basketball always has a big story, right? You have Nebraska last year never won an NCAA tournament game. We referenced the Northwestern thing. They were the laughingstocks. Unfortunately, I'm mentioning BC in the same sentence. as Nebraska and Northwestern, because that is where we are at this point in time.

Tim Linehan: so if we won if we won a little bit It's going to be a national story.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I have a...

Tim Linehan: It is. Because people latched on to Nebraska.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : That's a great point. it

Tim Linehan: John Rothstein went and bought out the bar in Nebraska because he said he would. so People are going to flip the script if BC wins some games.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : And.

Tim Linehan: One time.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : One time I have a text thread with all BC buddies who I work with fellow teachers. It's literally the thread is just called one time and it's just about all BC sports, football, hockey, basketball, just just one time, like about every single game that they play. Can they just play well once?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Hope.

Tim Linehan: It's...

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Hope is in the air, though. They they can do it. we're We're hopeful that they can do it. The schedule sets up decently. Stack wins early in the non -conference. Steal a couple in January. Play good basketball in February. Look up and see where you're at.

Tim Linehan: all right so we're we're dreaming we're hoping right we we've talked about our shawshank hopes hope quotes before. If we're really monitoring this, this is the data to monitor. I looked at last year's teams that got in. i looked at the ACC teams, eight teams got in.

Tim Linehan: The last two were NC State and SMU. They snuck in as 11 seeds. very pedestrian basketball teams. They were top 50 in the net and they were top 50 in Ken Palm and they had four or five Q1 wins.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Okay, that's the profile that gets in.

Tim Linehan: Top 50 in both the net and the Ken Palm. Four wins. Then I looked at the first four out. who will be in in 2027.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Eight new teams is a big deal that I don't think like the casual fan totally grasps like Eight new teams. The bubble's soft every year. These teams, as you're pointing out at the end, that are barely getting in, they're really not that good. You add eight more to the mix there.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : That opens up ah some opportunities. It really does.

Tim Linehan: It's... It's a perfect storm for Luke. It really is. You don't even have to go 500 in the league. Last year, SMU was eight and 10 in the league and got in. So they're not looking at, league record is not on your on the team sheet.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Got it.

Tim Linehan: It's not. So. If you're a real sicko and you're going to monitor this. Top 50 Ken Palm. Top 50 net. Four Q1 wins. if If you want to dream, that's what you got to.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Okay.

Tim Linehan: And we'll keep referencing it out throughout the course of the year to see where we're at. I mean, the new format, 76 teams. Do you know how it works?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Please tell me you you were filling me on this, but I forget

Tim Linehan: You know, we used to have selection Sunday. And then they'd have the two games Tuesday night, two games Wednesday night in Dayton. That is now six games on Tuesday and six games on Wednesday.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Okay.

Tim Linehan: Still in Dayton and in Wichita.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : oh wichita is beautiful in march i mean if bc's in wichita in march i'm going

Tim Linehan: I'm doing a little bit more.

Tim Linehan: Wichita and March. How about this? I'm gonna Sweet in the pot. Wednesday is St. Paddy's Day. So how about we all meet up in Wichita? for St. Paddy's Day.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : for the BC play -in game.

Tim Linehan: for BC to play UNLV or some Mountain West team that shouldn't be in. And we're watching them play an NCAA tournament game at Luke.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : That is awesome that it's St. Paddy's Day. Wednesday is going to be a day full of basketball to get in the... the first round of the tournament. That's awesome.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, book our personal days now, right?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I mean, I'm telling you right now, if they are in a play -in game, like I actually said this, if they're in the tournament ever again in my lifetime, I am going.

Tim Linehan: Okay, hey that that sounds like a whiteboard

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : whiteboard that and I need you to come with me.

Tim Linehan: Oh, yeah. I mean, we're there at this point. and Yes.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I mean, i really I really mean that. If they make the tournament at any any state, any time, any day, we're going.

Tim Linehan: yeah that's that's where i got with with my parents with st john's i'm like if this final four comes at any point we're going you just have to go right it's the time is now

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Alright. i'm with you prediction time

Tim Linehan: Speaking of whiteboard speaking of whiteboards. We've just went through the whole thing

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Prediction time. We just went through the schedule. Do we wanna go safe? Do we take a swing? I'm letting you go first.

Tim Linehan: Okay.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I'm not going first.

Tim Linehan: Okay. Alright. um Well, they don't call us two safe Tims for nothing, right?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : What a nickname.

Tim Linehan: Two safe Tims. We were... in a fantasy football league. Right out of college, I can picture making the draft around.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Everyone wants to be called two safe Tims in their early 20s.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, that gives you a little insight into us. We're not the like riskiest guys on earth. This is This podcast is probably the biggest risk I've taken in my life, maybe.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I mean, this is like bungee jumping for us.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, yeah. I've never been upside down on a roller coaster, so that shows you how safe I am here. Tough week for roller coaster news. I'll i'll keep that out. but um

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Teacher on that. But yeah, anyway, good. ahead

Tim Linehan: But yeah, I mean, we're co -owning a fantasy football team. It was probably like a $50 buy -in so we could afford to pay our Southie rent. So just that lets you know a little bit. Into.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I definitely owe you still. I probably Venmo you the 25 for that.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, I don't even know if Venmo was a thing actually so you definitely like did not give me $25

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : We co -owned, I mean, I'm remembering this now, we co -owned a $50 buy -in. We're like losing listeners by the minute here hearing this, but anyway, continue.

Tim Linehan: Yep. yup Two safe tens. So I'm going to be. This isn't a swing. This is... Somewhat safe. I'm going 11 -3 non -league. I'm going. two and six in that.

Tim Linehan: in January. I'm going five and four. We're thriving and in February.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Five and three.

Tim Linehan: Excuse me five and three And then we're going to split the last two. We're going to beat Notre Dame and lose to Florida State. That gets us to 19 and 13. 8 and 10. Hugely successful season.

Tim Linehan: Um, My kids are into it. We're not just watching St. John's. But the non -conference and the lack of Q1 wins were not in the tournament. Fair?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I think that's a wildly successful season. I do think too. There's an eyeball test. We talked about this a bit. Let's watch them this year. Do they get better? Did they improve? does it look like a product that's building like i think there is this sort of subjective view of what a successful season is that that has to take hold. I really do.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, you said you said the Florida State model, right?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : And.

Tim Linehan: They had a new coach. under the radar. Nice season last year.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : They went 17 -15 last year, and they they went 8 -12 in the ACC. Florida State, you we're talking. and And this year they look really good. they This year they look ready for a year two jump. Like I think they're a good.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : model.

Tim Linehan: Yeah. Pass the eye test. The offense looks cool, right? They're going to run run their nice sets. Money looks good. you know there's going to be

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : You know that everybody on this roster could potentially return except Luke Hunger.

Tim Linehan: With the five for five, right?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yep. every single guy money williams even at media day referenced that he might be at bc for two years so Look, retention's hard, but they're recruiting well. Like if if they play well this year and some guys emerge and you retain retain some of these guys.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I think year two really could be super fascinating. We're wishing and hoping here in year one. I mean, Tim, like the what's the song that introduces basically our podcast and for those that don't know in terms of the killers?

Tim Linehan: Oh, yeah. Killers. We couldn't go bright side. That was too cliche. So we do the shot at the night, right? it literally

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : That's what it's about.

Tim Linehan: the song starts once in a lifetime the suffering of fools to find our way home. Give me a shot at the night. Give me a moment. That's all we want, one time.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Just one. Just one time. And so that's why we're we're looking at it like. If it all came together this year and they could make the tournament, we we don't in our heart of hearts think it's going to happen, but. There's a path and you know. We're just trying to at least put it out there in terms of what they'd have to do.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I think I'm right with you in terms of my prediction.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, I was gonna say you you just took us off to the killers I'm 19 and 13 Are you ducking it or what are you doing?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I'm...

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : yeah which i mean the killers would have us that song would have us you know making the tournament in terms of the hope.

Tim Linehan: Yeah.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : which is the central you know motif of this of this podcast okay english teacher word

Tim Linehan: One safe Tim and and one edgy guy with a beard.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : But... I'm going to go save. No, I'm not going to go save. Look.

Tim Linehan: These are not safe.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I'm unsafe.

Tim Linehan: 19 is not safe.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : no yeah i'm gonna go 11 -3 non -league i'm gonna go two and six in that survive january I say they go six and two. I'm going to say that they go six and two and and thrive in February. okay and then split the last two so mark me down at 20 and 12.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : 9 and 9, which would be... a huge you know, overperformance than where they're projected to go.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, 20 used to be the magic number in college hoops. that was it You didn't need bracketology. If you won 20 games, you made the tournament.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I think that puts them.

Tim Linehan: it's not

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Mac. Dab on the bubble. where we'd have to see what happens. but

Tim Linehan: I mean, twenty I think 20 wins. and with 76 teams, we are. mildly sweating it out. And then. Seth Greenberg. reminds us of Stonehill again, and we're out. But.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Hey. If that happens, we we were close enough and we'll be happy, right?

Tim Linehan: That would be great.

Tim Linehan: That would be great. so you know It's going to be the eye test. We're excited. Everybody's excited. We want the product. right We're both coaches. I've always said I care about the product, the eye test. and obviously we believe that the product is going to be vastly superior to what we've seen That's why everyone's so excited.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : We're pumped. it's Exactly. i think i don't want to get too caught up in the final record i really don't i think Like we said, if they show improvement, if they can win. more conference games than they did last year. If some guys can emerge, like that's what we're looking for. All right. Okay.

Tim Linehan: well So we just gave all this excitement.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Let's move to overtime. Let's move to overtime.

Tim Linehan: And now...

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah, after all this excitement and hope. Last week when overtime what we did was the games that hooked us the games that really just made us love basketball really the best wins we saw So we figured for overtime this week.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Let's flip it. And let's go with our most crushing gutting. Sweet sweet misery crushing losses that we've experienced as basketball fans. I'm gonna let you go first.

Tim Linehan: Okay. Do I get to count my daughter's third grade travel championship game?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I feel like I've already heard too much about this game.

Tim Linehan: Yeah.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : You're the coach. Right.

Tim Linehan: I did a bad job.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : what

Tim Linehan: The girls. It was just a... bad youth sporting event. But I don't i don't want to talk about that here.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : We've all had those. We've all had those. but

Tim Linehan: Uh,

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Maybe this year, big, big, but you know, coaching again or no.

Tim Linehan: Coach, and we're back. Me and the girls are back for for year three. But let's get in.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : all right

Tim Linehan: My whole life, the answer to this question would have been St. John's, Ohio State, Elite Eight. I've already mentioned on the show because of the Scooney pen to the Jim O 'Brien connection. They beat Ron Artest, Eric Barkley.

Tim Linehan: LeVar Postel, Bootsy Thornton.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Oh my god, those names.

Tim Linehan: Like. Bye. Truly my favorite team of all time. of all time

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Great names.

Tim Linehan: um But that's not it. Well, that is it, but now the new one is St. John's Duke. from this past season.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Oh, just this last March. Okay.

Tim Linehan: In the Sweet 16. This season, my family was all in. My kids were all in. And it was they were beating Duke by 10 in the second half.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : And just to back up, right. So people don't know, like Tim's dad is a. St. John's alum, New York family. Mom's into it. You know, sister's into it.

Tim Linehan: Grew up with season tickets. been going to

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Season tickets, like diehard SJU fan, and now you've got this. unbelievable run with patino i just give that context keep going though

Tim Linehan: Yeah, and four days earlier, they hit the buzzer beater, Dylan Darling. They beat Darren Peterson and Kansas. An all -time moment, like ah ah an tournament buzzer beater with my whole family, my sister, my brother -in -law, my nephews, my parents.

Tim Linehan: My wife, the kids were jumping, hugging like.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : That game was awesome.

Tim Linehan: This was what we've created, right? We are college basketball people. And then St. John's blows it. Caleb Foster, of all people, Isaiah Evans.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Just two days later, right? Yeah.

Tim Linehan: And four days later, whatever, and who's counting.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Whatever. i go

Tim Linehan: And then I sent you that picture of me and my two kids just. totally down and depressed and i was like

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Devastated.

Tim Linehan: Well, this is what I've created in this house, and you can judge me if you want, but we are college basketball people, and it's ah it's a family event. That was the first episode, right? This is a family event. We want it to be a BC family event.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah, we're so jealous.

Tim Linehan: That's the dream.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I'm so jealous that like... collectively your family gets into it that much and it's an it's appointment viewing watch st john's and go with the highs and go with the lows and be into it like how awesome would that be If that was BC basketball.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, I mean I want I want my kids now to be watching Luke and the boys and to do this and and for all of our friends to be back the way we were when we were in college.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : And like you said, well you know I think we were talking off air, and it's like... the the If you're 20 or younger, you've never even seen that at all at BC. So we at least saw it. And we know it was awesome. We know what it could be.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : So for those students and for those young fans, like. it did happen and how cool would it be to happen again if you're huddled around the tv just living and dying with bc basketball like you are with st john's

Tim Linehan: It. It's why it's the best it's you know, that's why we love the sport. So but let's will it into it's happening please luke

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : So my my game. is I keep going back to this 1990. these nine early 1990s bc team right it was just such an awesome group of players just um it was so fun in terms of watching it oh by the way one player we didn't shout out in terms of the call when we were in college that... the tight flex name, like Lewis Hinnett, just a, just a quick. Side shout out to Lewis Hinnant. How good was he as a player?

Tim Linehan: I love Lewis in it. He's going to come back in and in a couple minutes. We can't leave that team out.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : ah ah Yeah, you're right. Great point. Great point. Okay. So the 1993 team is, is the team that basically for BC made the elite eight and on their way there, they were a nine seed. They beat UNC and Dean Smith. They beat Indiana and Bobby Knight, like they just had this unbelievable run. They were a collection of four seniors who stayed all four years and grew together. They were one in 15. their first year.

Tim Linehan: That'll be like a lunar eclipse now or something that's never happening again.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : at bc It just doesn't happen. I do miss that about college basketball, but you you felt like you like. And I was I was nine years old, 10 years old, 11 years old. And I like felt like I fell in love with basketball, like watching that team get good. And then they made all the way to the Elite Eight and they played Florida.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : They lost 74 -66 to Florida. Florida was coached by Lon Kruger, of all people. And they weren't they weren't a great team. in florida but they had one guy named craig brown i looked up the box score he and he had five three pointers in the game including three in a row at one point in the second half and that that sees control of the game NPC just couldn't quite get over the top to make the final four.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : They would have played Duke. How awesome would that would have been? um It... It was an awesome team, but when they lost that game, not only did they not make the Final Four, but that whole collection of seniors. The. That was it.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : you know They never got to play again.

Tim Linehan: And elite eights are crushing, right?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : i will say that

Tim Linehan: Like coaches say it, players say it, it's the most stressful game.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Ear crushing.

Tim Linehan: Because getting to the Final Four is like a championship, right?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah.

Tim Linehan: There's 350 teams. Only one team gets to be happy?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : It's such a final four is like.

Tim Linehan: No, right?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : it's such a success yeah that would be awesome

Tim Linehan: It's a championship. It really is, right? You hang a banner for it. So, you know, the fact that I'm talking about St. John's, Ohio State from 2001, and you're talking about... BC, Florida from 93. They sting with you.

Tim Linehan: Losing in the Elite Eight game. Stays with you.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : What's cool is, it totally does, what's cool is that 93 team, the BC uniforms that they unveiled are basically like ah like paying homage to that 93 team that they're going to wear this year. And they also. On BC's basketball Instagram, they like their official account, they basically, when they did the uniform reveal, they reenacted the cover of Sports Illustrated, which this team was on after they beat North Carolina. So there's a little cool thing going on with with the Murray group right now, like paying respect to the 93 team. And Donya Abrams is actually on the staff as a player personnel guy for BC.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : on on the staff right now he was on that team too so there's it's cool like i think they're trying to remember when and then like tap into the the successful history that BC's had.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, they're leaning into it and you are too maybe that's some good that's some good mojo there

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : It is. We got one more game?

Tim Linehan: We left out. You know, if we're playing Family Feud, this is easily. the number one, and it's 2006 BC Villanova Sweet 16. our senior year. We're all sitting around our mod watching it.

Tim Linehan: We're watching it on a... not flat screen TV. If we can set the scene for you a bit, probably about 20 of us.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : yeah We're old.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, we're... world. um 20 of us consuming this game. um I went out on a limb and I watched. it back i watched the last 10 minutes and overtime

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Recently.

Tim Linehan: Like. last week.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Hold on. So within the last week, you've consumed... Australian hoops, Slovenian hoops, and the 2006 BC Villanova collapse game.

Tim Linehan: Yeah, the people the people need the data, they need the homework. and I have no life and now I stay up two hours later than I ever did and we're pumping out content.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : i mean That is dedicate. I'm processing what I just heard. That is dedication though.

Tim Linehan: It.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : That is dedication.

Tim Linehan: It ruined my day and and retelling this is about to ruin. the rest of this podcast.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : They should have won this basketball game, yeah.

Tim Linehan: They're the better team. They o they go out 25 -9. I remember us jumping up and down and hooting and hollering. They're going to wind up losing it in overtime, 60 -59. Talk about a different.

Tim Linehan: different brand of basketball.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah, it was a grinder of a game.

Tim Linehan: Um, BC was up nine with nine to go and I mentioned my family's eight with eight rule so that really struck a chord when I saw that nine with nine. Craig had 14 points and 14 rebounds was a monster.

Tim Linehan: They're playing the Villanova four guards. Lowry Foy. Ray Nardi. Nova is cold. They only shoot 35 % for the field. BC shoots 47 % from the line.

Tim Linehan: Think about that.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Ouch.

Tim Linehan: They lost by one point in overtime. BC had 21 turnovers. I could not fathom that. You shouted out Lou Hennett. Lou Hennett was the man, a classic college point guard. him going toe -to -toe with Paulus in the ACC final like

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Awesome.

Tim Linehan: 21 turnovers. I'd have to like triple check it. But 18 assists for BC, 9 assists for Villanova. it' it's this The box score is a joke. Foy scores 29 points.

Tim Linehan: Nobody else in Villanova is in double figures.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah, BC really outplayed them and just just couldn't finish the deal in that basketball game. And, of course, we know. They lose on a goaltend to just the cherry on top. It was a goaltend. I mean, it really was, but to lose like that.

Tim Linehan: It was a goaltend. The end of the game was... Wild. Dudley hits a huge three. Sean Williams makes a block at the buzzer. They go to overtime. They're down three right away. Dudley gets a bucket. They foul Lowry on purpose. He misses the front end. And then this play I vividly remembered.

Tim Linehan: They got the ball to Craig in a sweet spot on the left block.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yep.

Tim Linehan: He goes over his shoulder, little baby hook. bucket and we all went nuts up by one they're going to win the game FOI ISOs. Sean Williams comes over and stuffs him. and Foy finishes it.

Tim Linehan: And if you could picture Sean Williams, Sean Williams b blocks him and Foley's hands keeps going.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Goes out of bounds on him. Yep, it goes on.

Tim Linehan: If it's in 2026. It's reviewed. And it's BC ball. You know, Dudley's always the smartest guy on the court. Immediately when it happened, he turned and went BC ball, BC ball. i didn't remember this and then it was total

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : No review though There wasn't even a preview.

Tim Linehan: No review. And then it was total chaos. No timeout. Defense is not set. Scrambling. We know the back screen, the switch, the goaltend. And I don't think BC basketball has recovered since that goaltend.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I think I only recently recovered. Honestly, in terms of emotionally, but I know. but we just Did we just like replay, play -by -play a game from 20 years ago? like yeah

Tim Linehan: Yeah, that game matters man that game is why we're here that game

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : That's why That's why this podcast works because that's the content you're not going to get anywhere else just to Cheers. diehards just Wow, I mean... Hey. going through it.

Tim Linehan: i Mean that's a sweet 16 the sweet 16 where the worst power four team in America right now. longest drought.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Get us back there.

Tim Linehan: and we And we were seniors of the Sweet 16.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Get us back there. Alright.

Tim Linehan: so that was depressing but it was a it was a hopeful episode right we talked about the tournament the whole time so

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : We did. we did

Tim Linehan: there's There's hope.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : those gutting losses like as much as we hate them we we kind of love them too right

Tim Linehan: Totally.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : All right, what's next? What's the next pod going to be?

Tim Linehan: Episode...

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Four.

Tim Linehan: Next episode four. Wow. We're grinding them out. um Any chance you can get to MIT?

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I can get to the MIT open scrimmage October 25th.

Tim Linehan: Let's go.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I'm going to take my five -year -old son. i'm gonna be you know Doing the dad stuff trying to show him the game a little bit and then also get our first look at Mario on the sideline what the rotation might look like what what the system looks like in terms of actually Seeing it for the first time so I'll be able to give you know in person you know, review really on the next pod.

Tim Linehan: Little little pizzeria uno still

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah. Ooh. they might actually yeah i might i might do that they do yeah usually we do um You know what i do I do?

Tim Linehan: And it'd be.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I go with Carter, my son, and then we get Shake Shack after because there's one right nearby.

Tim Linehan: Okay.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : So not a bad little afternoon.

Tim Linehan: All right. So we'll talk scrimmage. We'll talk recruiting, which is on the up.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Love the recruiting situation right now.

Tim Linehan: We're going to do a lip.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Yeah.

Tim Linehan: Seems to be great.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Huh?

Tim Linehan: A little national landscape. Obviously, if you've listened to us again for an hour, sorry guys, this was not the plan, but... We called last week.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : We got a diehard listening base, though.

Tim Linehan: um

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : I mean, they stayed with us for, what, 67 minutes last episode?

Tim Linehan: That.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Tim Linehan: Yes. oh So if you if you like this, then we're going to talk about the national landscape a little bit just so you have some storylines. But we are so thankful. for the community. um It has been extremely rewarding. We're going to keep it going. We are rejuvenated. Lots of NCAA tournament talk.

Tim Linehan: Um, it's probably closer to a 15 chance than a 50 chance that we get in But... We're excited. We can tell that you guys are excited. um So.

Tim Linehan: Go Eagles, right? Too safe, Tim. Signing off, Tim.

Timothy Quealy and Timothy Linehan : Oh, that's the new sign -off. I like it. All right, go Eagles from Two Safe Tens.

Tim Linehan: Go eat Go Eagles!
