Hello and welcome to Ever On Renewed, an actual play podcast set in the Ever On Campaign setting. I am your game master, Eric. I'm Philip. I'm Trevor. I'm Randy. I'm Jeff. Welcome to another

Discussion of Victory and Game Outcomes

episode. Gentlemen, what happened last time? We won. We won? Completely. We did it. in an and ah unadulterated victory snatched from Eric's jaws by two triumphs. I've done this long enough to really say Eric made us think we won. And then he tried really hard to make sure we weren't happy about it. Yeah, it was not satisfying, but we did it. I disagree. I'm very satisfied. I'm not satisfied. Aaron has been installed as the leader of the Boromars. That's true. Aaron's still inside walls? That's not right. No. No. So we did. But she could. So just for a bit of admin, because Philip and I had a conversation, I scaled back a bit of the conversation that we had surrounding the calibration again so that we could put some of it. Excellent. We're all in kind of a weird headspace at the end of the last episode. We hand-waved a lot of stuff that would be interesting to actually roleplay out.
00:01:46
Speaker
Um, so basically the episode got cut off where Phillip used his triumph to manifest Satsai more into reality and kind of gave the talk track, but then we cut it off there. So it wasn't just hand waved off. And then he does the thing. So as it currently stands, i was I was moving

Epilogue and Character Development

boxes all day. I did not listen. No, you're totally fine. I don't like the show. I'm not a listener. I think I'm still a patron. Thank you for your patience and thank you to all of our patrons listening. So yeah, that is where we kind of cut off the episode. So Callaway still is mucking around in high wall. It hasn't been fully thwarted, but you do all you all
00:02:26
Speaker
have used your two triumphs to get colder on the case of mucking with the documentation surrounding it and have manifested satsyme or murdering you know or but his preference was murdering anybody but Callaway unfortunately right yeah Favorite thing to do. As Eris said to the member of the King Citadel, the King sucks. Or the King's an idiot or something. Most people don't like their bosses. So, yeah, we are going to kind of pick things up with... Look, I played a monarchist last time. I figured I'd go anarchist this time. That's a good switch up. So this, just for the listeners, this is kind of functioning as our epilogue of sorts for the campaign. This is definitely kind of the come down and wrapping up the loose end. So it's going to be probably a bit more
00:03:09
Speaker
vignetti bouncing around things like that so vignetti is so weird italian month the hairy monster my name is is that the overlap between a sasquatch and a yeti the overlap spot is the vignetti yeah none of this stuff gets cut out this happens every session this is the stuff that eric cuts So, so yeah, we're going to kind of bounce around two different things.

Introduction of Legal Characters and Challenges

00:03:32
Speaker
So I would like to kick off with the sit-down introduction with Satsai Moore. So Aeris would... What's his partner's name? We'll get to that. Oh, I thought I was going to catch him. Nope. Her name is Misty. Squat Gatsby. Why do you steal my joy? ah I was so proud of myself when I thought of that. I'm proud of you too. yeah You wanted to go live, my guy. I hate everything. Yes. Satsai Moore and Misty Felstop will meet you. So... You're not getting there. So where would Aerith try to set up a meeting once? Well, where where does Symore and Felstop attorneys at law? Avocados. Avocados at law. So they aren't chirons. They are just natives of Sharn. They're realish citizens. So they just operate out of the city. So yeah, presumably via your your check and kind of your streetwise of asking around. And you would have heard this name of like an attorney that looks out for the little guy kind of thing. so
00:04:26
Speaker
But they they take meetings all over the city. In that case, Eris would invite them to the lifted spirit. Soring spirits? Soring spirits, yep. Okay. Would Eris invite Percadre or is this an Eris solo thing? Eris has just been like pretty much constantly out loud monologuing about this since it happened. Fair. so If this isn't that afternoon, Eris hasn't slept. Gotcha. And she's she's very close to Goldblum energy. Okay. um See, I will say it's kind of evening time. It's it's dinner time that if Eris is monologuing out loud, then you all would be fully aware of Eris' mind state and what the plan is. So are you all going to join her or are you all going off to deal with your own stuff post?
00:05:09
Speaker
clan shenanigans. Hob thinks he might be need to be there to translate for Aeris. Okay. Yeah, Milo would go. Callaway stuff, Milo doesn't like Callaway, so. Makes sense. I'm just gonna do my own thing. So, sure, I'll be there. Right, I will be there from FOMO. Might as well be on this one. So. the three hard set seour was cute you all think for el aren't working You all are the Soring Spirits, and after, like a couple minutes after the agreed meet time,
00:05:42
Speaker
You all see two figures down in the low lower level inter, one of which is a man with red spectacles on holding a cane, and the other one is a woman by his side dressed in also very kind of it. Raynard, you would peg this immediately. It's it's clothing designed to look like Noble's clothing, but very poorly made. like So either one could be Elton John. So yeah, it's like a ah suit off the rack at a low-end department store kind of thing. And Jorland kind of gestures upstairs and they walk up and the the the woman... So the the man is pretty pale-skinned, dark hair, a bit of a five o'clock shadow, looks a little bit haggard, worse for wear. Whereas the woman is very well put together, very dark skin, hair is in kind of a small afro
00:06:32
Speaker
And she extends a hand to each of you and says, Misty, fail stop. This is my associate, Sat Symore. We got your message and are excited to talk about your case. It's definitely messages. That was definitely that was definitely polite. We couldn't avoid your messages. And and yeah, they they take a seat and Sat is fairly quiet compared to Misty. So what is the situation? This is going to be so weird that I'm not, I can't like look across at you. turn your head little Eric's usually over there. Yes. It's very, our last time. I'm going to turn Eric into the police later after kissing me. I'm so confused that I remembered the Bible. Yeah, maybe you should do that more often. Remember how you guys wanted to outtakes? So yeah.
00:07:18
Speaker
All right. So there's this, there's this huge top Solomon Calloway. Yeah. We, we are aware of Solomon Calloway and his, his dealings in the city. Right. So we just disrupted something he was doing with the Boromar clan. Okay. In a big way. And in a really petty spiteful sort of way, he's quietly invested in all the businesses in this part of the city just to get his hooks in them. I don't know what that will be down the road. Okay. But I'm trying to find a way to get the people out of those deals because I know what he's really like behind the facade is too high a vocabulary word for her. Ruse. Fakade illusion behind the Fakade.
00:08:10
Speaker
yeah you all there's a moment where sats like the corner of sats mouth like twitches up a little bit and a little bit of a smirk his heiress is ranting about calaway and misty uh says well so we yes in your your message you you kind of laid out that he had invested in a lot of the businesses around here and we were looking for potential um you know high wall isn't interesting neighborhood compared to the rest of sharn in the origin of it so we were looking for what businesses how businesses can be established here and at this point sat chimes in it's like it's a refugee camp it's not a certified
00:08:56
Speaker
neighborhood of the city. So the residents here, from a legal standpoint, not citizens of Sean or Greenland, specifically, they're refugees of Kaya. Additionally, the businesses that they have started up are
00:09:14
Speaker
ad hoc in nature.

Legal Strategies Against Callaway

00:09:15
Speaker
they're not They're not approved by the Sean City Council. This is a pop-up district. so Even though this was Philip's idea, there's no way this was that Eris understands the legal the legal ramifications of this. And so Eris hears all of this as bad news. yeah Hobbs, Hobbs nodding, but he's also like, all right, fancy pants, please. It's not a real place, refugees. Come on, buddy. Look, just because people treat us like we're not real. Oh, this is a good thing because these are businesses that, legally speaking, could be invested in, at least not recognized by any financial institution of Sean. So we have two plays. Either you can inform the recipients of these investments of this information,
00:09:59
Speaker
and they return the money. The documentation already indicates that there's a clause that once they do that, the agreements are null and void. So that would be the quickest, simplest, and cleanest way to do this. But there's another play. Alright. We could take to take this directly to the Sean City Council to prove that Callaway's investments and therefore the contracts attached to them are not valid, which would mean that the giveback clause in the contract is not valid, which means for the contracts to be null and void, they don't have to give back the money. I like the part where he loses money. So, now that is up to the discretion of the Sean City Council, of course. It is potential that if he were to throw money at the case, forgive me, I don't know what your vested interest in this neighborhood is, but in order for him to make his investments legal,
00:10:51
Speaker
he would have to urge the Sean City Council to recognize all of the refugees here as full British citizens and their businesses as fully recognized within Sean, which would obviously provide the people here a lot more legal protections than they currently have. So that could be a benefit, but it would be a way of him ensuring that his investments stick. I don't think that that will work. There's still a lot of fear surrounding high walls and what obviously happened during the war with Fallen and so I don't think it would work but that is the only play that you could potentially make. And knowing him that is definitely a play he would probably make just to be spiteful. But what I'm saying is even the spiteful play for him is still it
00:11:35
Speaker
It would be fundamentally changing for all the people that live in high walls. Once again, I'm a very good attorney, and if we don't want that to happen, I can make sure it doesn't happen. It would feel gross, but if the goal here is to screw over Callaway, which, believe me... That is a goal. I don't... I think there's also a goal to maintain the self-determination of the people of high walls, too. I should talk to them, shouldn't I? Before I go making decisions for them. we shouldn't make decisions for them that's true like i said if this goes our way which i think it will they get to keep the money right okay there's a chance that they could you know be recognized do you mean there's a chance that both things happen they get to keep the money and
00:12:21
Speaker
High Wars gets treated better. Yes, I mean we could so. Because I like that. Yes. But they would still be bounded by the contract at that point. it's It's a matter of order of operations. So we go and we present the fact that Callaway's contracts are null and nolllan void because he brokered these deals with businesses not recognized by the Sean City Council and with citizens who are not citizens of Breeland. Then we fight for high walls to actually become a neighborhood, but we include a provision that prevents any retroactive clauses. Callaway can't be grandfathered in with his investments. He made investments in bad faith outside of the legal purview of Sean. So what if...
00:13:07
Speaker
but hell And Misty is just taking notes furiously next to Misty. it help if ah convinced everyone to very slightly change the name of their business when they became legit Potentially, that would that would prevent any kind of... from a legal paperwork standpoint, it it would make things more difficult for Callaway. It would need to be, from a legal standpoint though, just I'm not sure what you are aware of, so if I'm saying something that you already know, please feel free to stop me. From a legal standpoint, it has to be a substantial change. like
00:13:42
Speaker
Sorting spirits here couldn't simply become the soaring spirits. Legally, people would be able to say that is materially the same name. You can't go to Nessa Moonshabbos. Got it. But I mean, even so if things go away, there's really nothing to prevent him from going back at a later time. Oh, I got an idea on that. Them contracts. Well, but that's the thing. If we can do this in a way to where they get to keep the money, then they wouldn't need to broker with him. That would be... I fear that if they keep the money it will have become a a down payment Calloway made on their future destruction. He's not a forgiving type. Now he probably wouldn't miss the money, but that also wouldn't be the point. Right, right. Yes, how vindictive would he become?
00:14:26
Speaker
If you've shown him to be beatable, he probably would like to beat you back. Yes, but I'm going to ensure that it is my face that is the face of this case, and brokering this deal. So, the citizens of Highwall will not be the ones rebelling against Callaway. It will be Symore and Felstopp, attorneys of law. And Misty leans over and is like, we agreed.
00:14:49
Speaker
inside yeah like in another universe All right, I feel like I should talk to the neighborhood before I make before I try to do something because it's yes My place is the only place he didn't take his money. Right? That's right. That's the right thing. Yeah, I should talk I should talk to them first Unfortunately, if they want to be in the debt of Solomon Callaway, you have to let them. Well, I mean, legally. Emotionally. Like I said, they would get to keep the money. No, I'm talking to Eris about speaking with the people, not the legal part. I don't know the legal part of it. I'm staying out of that. This is the
00:15:29
Speaker
Aerith's having to talk to people part of it. I'm pretty good with that bit. The important thing is that either way, these contracts aren't holding forward. Right. It's just that if Callaway were to make a hard play to legitimize the neighborhood, then it becomes legally gray. But as it stands right now, he has no leg to stand on. Excellent. I like the idea of him with no legs. Me too. It's funny, he'd be like a bald, so round. That's not how I pictured Callaway. Yeah, okay, so Eris would... I've got to talk to the people. And then Eris just gets up and and goes, Missy's just like, oh, I guess we're done. yeah She just goes over the balcony. As Eris disappears, Missy looks around the table at the rest. He's like, here's the matter of payment. I was going to say, do you have some sort of consulting fee that I was not made aware of?
00:16:18
Speaker
And it's like, it's fine. I take out one goal that I put on the table and then I take out another goal. I'm like, I really hope you stop me soon. And you hear Misty muttering about like, we literally can't pay rent right now. It's like, it'll be fine. It'll be fine. And they get up and, uh, lots of real estate and high walls. So yeah, where are you staying? Closet opening up is obvious. Okay. So Eris is going to, Eris is going to try and summon a neighborhood meeting. Okay. So yeah, I mean it is easy especially if you leverage your lane because most of the business owners like come to the soaring spirits It is not difficult especially being around dinnertime within 45 minutes You could have awesome everyone here because the businesses are shutting down and people are wanting to eat So are you all still gonna continue to stay here for this? Are you all going to? Head out as Eris rallies the business. I don't live here. So I can't be part of the input meeting. I Okay. If Eris wants to be over there, but I... So... I mean, Eris generally wants hob most places. Like... Milo, Reynard, are you saying you got stuff to do? Milo's gonna head home.
00:17:22
Speaker
Okay. So Milo, you head out. Raynard, what are you doing? Yeah. oh What happened to my voice? Yeah, I'll head out too. Yeah, see. and I will stay. I've been thinking about moving to high walls if they'll have him. so Yeah. Okay. So Raynard, you're heading out. Yeah. you say So during the the little bit of time that Aeris is gathering people, Raynard, are on your way home, but you actually receive a ah message via a spell. A text message. Yeah. ah couple point So, uh, like, it's like the sending spell where it just kind of like, you hear it and and it is from Aaron Boromar. Oh, Aaron Boromar. You hear no her voice say, I was wrong. I can't hack it. Reynard, I require your services one last time. Please meet me at my office tomorrow morning. Seven a.m. Fascinating. So early. Here we go. One more time. Everybody's really fine. Here we go now. Or else we have to start paying. Milo. Yeah, we are on Twitch. Milo.

Milo's Family and Personal Decisions

00:18:23
Speaker
Nobody even but takes that for the real one. When you get home, you hear noise in your house as you open the door. And she you weren't there to pick me up from the lightning rail. Oh I'm sorry, mother. Absolutely. It's fine. It's fine.
00:18:38
Speaker
Your aunt took care of me. Somebody has to. I want the backstory of how Milo and his mom acquired such disparate accents. How was your trip? It was fine. no Last minute didn't have time to plan anything, but nice to see that you're safe. I'm safe. Everyone's safe, which was your concern, so. Yes, absolutely. Anything exciting happen while I've been gone? Well, absolutely. Aaron is now the official head of the Clan Bormar. Aaron's in the Dreadhold, sweetie. Aaron is no longer in the Dreadhold. She is out and officially in charge. What happened to Alira? Well, my friends and I, with some help, ousted her. Did you kill your cousin? No, absolutely. No, half-sister. Don't confuse me. Who are you? Absolutely not. We just simply walked in.
00:19:31
Speaker
with Aaron and Alira just said, fine, have it essentially and walked out. Well, you've been a busy boy apparently. How's keg bottoms construction going? Oh god. Well, it's going to be completed. It's a crime scene. I know that you've been restless and wanting to get back into keg bottoms too. Milo, I love you. You are my son. You're my flesh and blood. I want you out of my house. Yes, I know and I shall be. but you you can move into keg bottoms if you wish. Did your forehead get worse? No, mother, I have... Oh my god, where's your eyeball? but I was wondering when it how long it was going to take you to notice. it she was She was unpacking, like looking like just muttering and turned around and was like... It's a very long story. I just really don't want to get into it, but... You don't want to get into why you don't, like, why you wearing an eye patch?
00:20:29
Speaker
Well, it's because my... I no longer have that eye. Obviously. Obviously, yes. Didn't think it was a fashion choice. There's lots of reasons we're not. It was taken from me. And I don't know how to explain it where you would understand it. Oh, okay. buts Get a fancy scar on your head and all of a sudden you're too good for your mother. Geez. Anyway, we got in a scrape and I lost the eye. Is the wound at least cleaned? Did you take that? Yes, it's absolutely clean. every Everything is fine. It doesn't hurt at all. Good. Well, what's next steps for the clan then with Erin stepping up? I'm supposed to meet with her. When? She said she would get in contact with me. I'm assuming rather soon. Okay.
00:21:19
Speaker
Well, you know, sometimes it can be helpful to show up rather than just to remind them that, you know. But, I mean, she, last I saw her, she mentioned about getting together and talking about my role going forward. All right. But, mother, I don't know that I want a role going forward. What do you mean? I think I may go on a trip. What about? A long trip. What about the bar? Well, I was hoping that would be where you come in. Something for you to do instead of sitting around the house. Oh, young man, young man, you to Milo Jedidiah cake bottom. jededy
00:22:01
Speaker
no what's your real middle name now no definitely myage atta diet You've talked many times about you wish you could get back into keg bottoms. What if you could run the place? You know how much you miss it. There are certainly employees that we call upon that even though they may have found other employment, would love to come back to keg bottoms. Listen, if you need me to help with the administrative side... I can't run a tavern, Milo. if you If you find people that can help run it while you're on your trip until you get back, and you want me to handle the actual, like, ownership and, like, the books and stuff, I can handle that. But you're not gonna put this whole thing on my plate. Understood.
00:22:47
Speaker
Alright. Talk to Aaron about it. I'm sure there's some clan folks that can help out. And you got your friends that you run around with? Or are they going on the trip with you? I really wish you'd said little friends. They're little friends. No, they they won't be going on this trip, mother. And I don't know if or even when I might be back. Where are you going? I've never been out of Shawn. I want to go and explore. Okay. I want to be done with clan business and death and destruction everywhere we go, it seems. um I'm just tired of it. I want to be happy again. All right. I'm sorry. Don't mean to push you. If you need to leave to be happy, of course I'll support you. Can I at least come visit wherever you're going?
00:23:37
Speaker
I'm not entirely sure, but I kind of don't think so. But if there is a way, then most certainly I will find it. All right. All right. Well, let's... And I will, if possible, I will try to keep in contact. Shut up. Sit down. Let me make you dinner. Thank you, mother. You know I do love you. I love YouTube. I really thought you were going to say dinner. Oh, I love dinner. Yo, I just know what to cook.

Community's Opposition to Callaway

00:24:03
Speaker
Okay. Eris, you have the various owners of the businesses gathered. Eris is pacing with man it with with manic energy such that one might expect her to suddenly Produce a corkboard covered in yarn to show. I'm just prepared for her to cut and run. You're like, nope. Nevermind. Go. Yeah. I've got something to tell you all. Don't take one. Hang on. All right. So all of you got some money recently from a tart named Callaway or someone who works for him and signed these contracts and whatnot. And you probably didn't know that Callaway
00:24:40
Speaker
Is it hot? I mean really got it it just he's got his hands in everything he's trying to run the city and he's involved in a lot of the terrible things that have been happening in the city with monsters running loose and crazy people on flying skiffs and all sorts of things. Garen the dwarf blacksmith. it Was he the reason the whole neighborhood turned into a big bowl? Probably Oh. Hub makes a face like, we know why that happened. I'm not gonna, come on dude. Eris only throws Milo under the bus in person. It wasn't Milo's phone either! That's your opinion. Eris knows what she saw and what she interpreted it to mean. And how she decided the world is dependent of evidence.
00:25:26
Speaker
But he's yeah, he's he's in everything and he's doing this because we just really screwed up what he was trying to do with a takeover of the Boromar clan. So anyway, here's what it is. As it turns out, none of our businesses exist. Like, according to the law. Because this place, because people in general are taught, this place isn't actually a place in shine. It's a camp for refugees. There's kind of a somber nod and acknowledgement amongst the collective group.
00:26:07
Speaker
So what that means is that technically Callaway didn't actually sign contracts with any businesses because none of your businesses exist. So I've talked to a lawyer who feels confident he can get you out of the contracts and maybe that results in the city recognizing that High Walls is a place and not just a place it ignores. It's possible that we could do that without you having to give the money back. which is what I want to do because it would really make his day worse and well that's a priority for me but I don't bo us it's it's the point
00:26:45
Speaker
But I don't want to do anything without... I shouldn't do things without talking to people it affects, is what I'm saying. And so I wanted to talk to you all. So here's what I can offer. I promise that Callaway is not a person you want to be in business with. And I can arrange whatever the costs are from this this lawyer. Your costs, right? Yeah? Yeah, you missed that bit. Whatever the lawyer costs, I can manage that. And... I can't and won't try I won't try to stop you from doing business with Callaway now in the future if you want to but anyone who doesn't do business from ca with Callaway I'll do your maintenance work for free and to be honest I'll probably make it all improved too that's just kind of what goes
00:27:38
Speaker
but I'll do the maintenance work for free. I'll keep doing the maintenance work for free forever or whatever part of forever I've got here. That's really all I can offer because I'm trying to stop being a criminal and I think that's going to result in a pay cut. So, I wanted to know what you wanted before I went with this lawyer because I didn't take any money from Callaway because I already knew he was a talk. As you wrap up your speech. I offered something, so if you make me roll, I would get to roll negotiation.
00:28:10
Speaker
Lirian, who's a male Kalashtar monk that I think Raynard met. He's friends with what's Lirian do? Nessa. He does meditation and the trauma, like healing therapy stuff, especially for people. Obviously, Kairins have cool. yeah And he has a ah small space set up for that. And he stands up and looks hot. Yes, he is a Kalashtar. So objectively is the hottest person in the room. like what's he do weird happy with stuff. He makes eye contact with you Eris and in in in a way that is unsettling. Yeah Eris doesn't keep his eyes. Yeah but like there is just kindness in his eyes and he kind of looks around the collective group and I believe that I feel confident in speaking first and speaking somewhat on behalf of those of us collected here and he looks back up at Eris and
00:29:06
Speaker
before you came here. This neighborhood was obviously what they say it is. It was destitute, rundown, and devoid of... Let's call it what it is. It was devoid of life. Life in any meaningful way. You change that. And I can tell... that me saying this makes you very uncomfortable. So, I will keep this brief. You say Callaway is bad and negative for the people here. We know you are a positive for the people here. I don't think any of us have
00:29:37
Speaker
any intention with that knowledge of letting someone else come in here and begin to influence things in a way that they would like. And I will leave it at that. And Lirian sits down and you- Hub starts to- Oh, no. There we go. Eris, who takes her social cues from other people- I read it wrong, I read it wrong, I read it wrong. And you see nods around the room of people and Garen says, yeah, Callaway's a tat. Got-tot. Got-tot. What does that mean? Huggles your clothes. And Nessa moon shadow smiles and Eris you and your attorney do whatever you like and if we get to keep the money great if we don't that's fine but we'd rather be in business with you than Callaway.
00:30:24
Speaker
Yeah, this comes with like that. I mean the city paying more attention and and maybe doing things better here comes with you know, the city paying attention So I didn't know I don't like that but I didn't know if that Feeling was shared and so I didn't want to like try to fix things and then the city comes in and you're like, oh we really liked it better when everything was under the table and But apparently I know a good lawyer. He says he's a new lawyer. An expensive lawyer. Aim in the part-time librarian, the the librarian enthusiast. Oh no. If if I have to pay taxes to the city so that one person doesn't have to go around making sure the water works, then I think that is a fair trade-off.
00:31:08
Speaker
Wait, do I have to stop doing that? You don't have to, but you won't ha- You don't have to stop, but you won't have to do it all the time. Oh. Alright. So, yay. Okay. I think- I think you've won, Eric. Is this a vote? Do we call for a vote? Is this a thing? I would, yeah. A vote! Yes. Go. Vote. I'm gonna pass out some paper. What? Oh. Uh, yeah. That- Garen kind of smirks in rolls' eyes. All those in favor of telling Callaway to go shove one, raise your hand. And all the hands in the room go, Oh, cool. All right. are You. Vote. And then much to Aeris' chagrin, Garin goes, to the fixer and Hob loudly. yet Right. Drinks on the fixer. I'll take her. Yeah. Okay. I'm going to go find the lawyer again. Okay. Aeris, please. Another social situation. Yeah. The, the air in the room seems very lively. They, they left a card with you, Hob, as they left with the location of their office. So you all can.
00:32:04
Speaker
head there immediately or if you want to. yeah I mean, Eris heads there immediately. What's the algorithmic name of the neighborhood they're in? I don't do algorithms for the neighborhoods. Yeah, there's a map. yes All those are established. So, you all head down there. Kyber's Grill. It's Kyber's Grill. Kyber's Grill. i was good It's Kyber's something for Kyber's Zena. Kyber's Grill is a pretty solid music. There's one called Elodra's Kitchen. Hey! Elodra's Kitchen. Elodra's Kitchen is where their offices. So while you all are headed down there, we need to do our first third person cutaway.
00:32:39
Speaker
So this is actually a bit of a flashback that we're going to do to cover an aspect of the job that was not touched upon really. this is where eri breaks our So we are in Erin's office and she is tapping the sending stone at her desk to hang up a call. and looks up and Sigil is sitting across the desk from Erin and she says, so I'm told that there is to be an alliance of sorts between our collective parties. Yes, I talked to my companions and obviously I used to be employed by the clan and still I'm, it's all very foggy. I have been neglecting my duties if the expectation was that I continued working for the clan. But
00:33:26
Speaker
I would like to gain some level of protection for the warforged in the city in the form of Fallen if the clan would invest money into making that neighborhood livable again, and obviously the warforged would help with the labor.

Sigil's Mission and Legal Preparations

00:33:41
Speaker
in exchange for assisting with your succession of power, as it were, in whatever way is necessary. And Eren nods and looks at Tarvel standing over his shoulder and, dear will you go, I think we got some smuggling shipments coming into the docks. Alright, and Tarvel leaves what was formerly his office for the dock rats. Eren looks at Sigil and
00:34:03
Speaker
Alright, being the sibling to the former head of the clan, I am aware of some contingencies that exist with Boromar HQ. That once you're acclimated to all the things that that desk can do, make you a very dangerous person. I i know of your skill enough, Sigil, to know that you are very adept at interpreting and manipulating magical constructions. whether that's runes, sigils, as it were. So there is a mechanism in Boromar HQ built into the tower underneath all the buildings. That is a failsafe, I suppose is the appropriate word. In case things ever truly went sideways, the head of the clan could initiate the the building to blow, as it were. So take out the tower with it. Good grief.
00:34:55
Speaker
I know that my niece is unstable and it's not going to get any better once we storm the castle and kick her off her throne. We are going to go do this tomorrow is my understanding. So I need you to go now and make sure that It's taken care of. Take whoever you need in terms of your warforged. I have the location. There's a lot of traps. There's a lot of things that could go terribly wrong. But this is my ask. If you want the clan to pull. The clan will throw its full support behind the warforged plight in the city. You have my word on that. And we will do what we can with Fallen and do what we can with the Sharn City Council to ensure that some of these
00:35:34
Speaker
New regulatory rollbacks are undone as well as then starting moving the needle in the right direction and sigil thanks for a moment and nods and if that's that's what you require then I'll do my best. Okay so Eris Hobb you get to fell stop and assign more attorneys a law. It is A door in the side of the tower with a piece of wood over where the glass pane should be and a piece of parchment nailed to it that says, fell stop inside more. Where did you find these guys again? Here. Okay. Tyres opens the door.
00:36:11
Speaker
not not misty like jumps at erdesai oh how goes sorry are you a horse? sure yeah no i was not all right the town's in it's like two heiresses the town is in for which plan are they giving all the money back or are they good with no doing the the part where we screw over calloway okay notably sad is not here Okay. Well, great. I will make a note of that and we will petition the council first thing in the morning to have an emergency session and we can start adjudicating. They'll have to notify Callaway, obviously, but we should be able to get in front of the council day after tomorrow at the earliest. Okay. So yeah, just if you all want to come, you're more than welcome to, or you could let us do our thing. Is it more or less helpful if I come?
00:37:00
Speaker
I mean, Sat and I'll be- I might be able to weigh in. Sat and I'll be doing the talking, like we're not gonna, it's not gonna be like calling witnesses or anything, it's not like a trial. So, I mean, it's more if you just wanna come watch the process and kind of, you know, we'll debrief you at the end of each day, but if you're there watching, then obviously you'll know what's going on in terms of Callaway's plays and things like that, but. Eris, you might be in the same room as Solomon Callaway for a long time without an opportunity to assault him. No, this is the best for you. But hey, if you want to go, go. Why wouldn't I have the opportunity to assault him? Well, it's not without a major repercussion. Yeah, it would be great if we didn't do that. What Misty said. I'm not going. That sounds boring. No, I'll go. I won't assault him in the courtroom. Please don't. Please don't assault him at all because that's a crime. As your attorney, I have to tell you that. Wait, you're my attorney?
00:37:53
Speaker
You've hired me to handle this case for you, so right now I am your attorney. That's awesome. Hopefully I will match that energy. I don't think anyone's ever been my thing other than like my boss. I thought I was your friend. Yeah, okay, but that's not, that's not like, you know that's different. I don't pay you. True. Considers his gloves and his- Also don't pay people for companionship. That is also a crime. Not everywhere. It should be we don't need to get I yes. Yeah. Hey, where's your partners? Yeah, don't let out vigilante justice a little streak. I'm just kidding Yeah, that's what we're trying to well, I guess we weren't doing the vigilante justice. Were we no there's very little justice in what we've done for the last 203 episodes I mean weeks how long have we been doing months many months? Yeah, I was tracking it for a while, but then Eric stopped giving me it stopped giving me so many days have passed Yeah Okay, so I will file these motions first thing in the morning and I will let you know when we are gonna be before the Sharn City Council. Is that a dress code? Is this clothes that I haven't slept in and that I've maybe- A little better, hopefully, like- I'll have a different outfit. Just one other outfit? Yeah, basically. What's it like? It's the gala outfit.
00:39:10
Speaker
That feels like it would be overdressing. It's quite formal. Flashing. It's nice. I mean, it's nice. Do I have to get a third outfit? If you just wash that. Oh, I can do that. Fine. Yeah, OK. Cool. Maybe not the military jacket, but. Everyone's always trying to change you, Iris. Did I say something wrong? Yeah. OK, then yes to the military jacket. OK. Hey, how do I? OK. Real quick. May I call you Misty? Yeah. How ironclad are you feeling about winning this thing? i i asked
00:39:41
Speaker
but all due respect Without the avocado bravado, one might have. I promise I wasn't teeing that up. It just came to me and I'm sorry for it. I didn't like it. Junior wouldn't be like, what's the? Let me go through it. Sorry. We sat and I talked once we got back. We're very confident that there is legal precedent for the businesses in high walls. ah to not have any legal standing in the city of sharn so yeah you you can't invest in a business that does not exist that's called fraud right and so but obviously callaway wasn't acting in bad faith towards fraud so we're not going to try to hit him with a fraud conviction but we're just going to try to prove that ah the contracts that he signed up with these people are null and void and that any money that was exchanged is therefore
00:40:32
Speaker
immaterial and lost basically. And we we're pretty confident that we can land that. The counter play that Callaway would make like we said is to legitimize the entire neighborhood and get a grandfather clause saying that his investments would apply underneath the yeah that thing. I need to speak with Eris for just a moment. We step out of earshot. Excuse us. This is legitimately like an eight foot by eight year end. Then we step out a little bit through. You're back out on the street. I'm going to the street with my friend for a moment. Do you think we should let your lawyer know that the currently Callaway sympathetic city council might not be as amenable to what they are saying and she might want to wait a bit until Cold War is done with his dirty work.
00:41:20
Speaker
i i know what to do okay yet you figure you think i should call cold organ boy not for his sake but yeah maybe you understand what i'm saying like yeah no right yeah if he gets rid of them first i'd be better the the the city council is currently handpicked by calaway to do the things but some of them not all of them enough of them that it could be a problem right yeah i've seen twelve angry Orcs. Wait, no, that's a very different movie. I've never seen that movie. It's a very different movie. That's just beheadings. That's terrifying. looking at All it takes is one dissenting voice to turn liberation.
00:41:54
Speaker
so Right, yeah. Okay, Eris Cockholder. Hey, Eris, what's going on? Okay. How's the, you know, thing with the council? How's your whole deal? I'm like in a street, so I don't think I should describe it more than that. That's, that's good. Good impulse. It's going well. We already have four of them are announcing tomorrow morning that they are stepping down in disgrace. Oh, perfect. Do they have to announce it like that? Do they have to say in disgrace? Is that like a legal term? They're going to say they're spending more time with their families. Oh. Yeah. That's disappointing. We're spending it for their families. um So we got four of them. Obviously those seats will be empty until we can get suitable replacements, the elections, et etct cetera, et cetera. So that would mean there'd be a majority of people who aren't like in Callaway's pocket on the council.
00:42:42
Speaker
Well, he had a majority. We, we, we leveled the playing field as it stands right now. We've got other feelers out. We're, we're working, but some people are shockingly squeaky clean. So we're having to manufacture some stuff and make it believable. and This time it's not on speakerphone. Hob's not hearing it. Hob didn't hear that. Hob is unaware of that. Right, right. Yeah. Okay. That's what that makes sense. You need your help. I appreciate the offer. But I could build all sorts of devices that would look like someone else did it. I know. This type of stuff requires a certain level of nuance and subtlety that in my time working with you, your skills lie in other very valuable things, but not necessarily this. The shirtless giant goes, what are you saying? But I appreciate the offer. And I'm also working on the Callaway document stuff. So that's awesome. Well, I'm gonna have a less shady solution to that. Oh. Through a lawyer. Cause as it turns out, Highwall doesn't exist. Did you get hit in the head? Many, many times. Well, no. Well. Recently? It's, it's just a refugee camp. It's never been made part of Sean. So no one there's a citizen. So none of the businesses exist. It's like if I set up a tent on the street and started selling apples.
00:43:53
Speaker
Oh, okay. What you should also be allowed to do. Let me just, I'm just gonna. You said it's not a speakerphone. Hobbs got opinions. Hobbs got opinions on that. Okay. Yeah. That that's clever. That makes sense. Okay. Well, the stuff that I was working on is in motion. So it shouldn't interfere with any of that, but I will keep you updated as that develops. cool the lawyers want to talk to the council day after tomorrow is that gonna be a problem no I can try to get a couple more bumped off awesome or day after tomorrow yeah no just go ahead you would if you would go ahead and have them that would be quicker but you said you didn't want me to kill them I do not want to be responsible for more people dying as a
00:44:34
Speaker
Okay. I did not want to be responsible for people dying. I'll just not leave off that. ad I didn't, yeah. I i know, like... Look, I'm trying to not be a criminal. Okay, yeah. I mean, you are contacting me to do a lot of your dirty work, which, you know, is legal, so... Okay. I helped you with something, and you didn't put a limitation on what I could ask for in return. That's... I know. That's me being good at negotiation. So now we'll begin saying no, but... Oh. Well, I still get that list of things I gave you, though. Yes. That was the agreed upon. Awesome. Yeah. Cool. Hob's like scratching the back of his hand every time Harrison cooled or ducked. Come on.
00:45:14
Speaker
Okay. I have so many things that I'm still working on, but I will also talk to you. Thank you. Goodbye. Have a good day. You too. What'd he say? He offered to kill them again, but oh my gosh he said they've already taken four of them are going to ones are already gone. He offered to kill the nice. I know. I didn't hear you to remind him not to mess with Soviet, but that's okay. i told it he seems good at remember it seems now he He seems good at remembering things. I told him he's already got some of them i will be resigning tomorrow So it'll be it's gonna be okay. We're good. We're not yeah, it's not at crosswise. Okay, I guess I need another outfit Okay, anybody else want to do anything this evening?

Hob's New Security Model

00:45:51
Speaker
Roleplay wise before we cut to Reynard's meeting with Aaron you sure Okay. Yeah, I know. So, ah so much good just just I need to say this. Hobb decided not to follow up with the demon slaying thing. yeah Jeff remembered and really went back and forth on what he should do, but Hobb has decided that he's okay letting letting the Ace lie. Okay. Raynard. He's going to trust Dorla more than the demon.
00:46:18
Speaker
I just wanted to know if anyone had any reactions to that. So that feels like cheating. No, it's the chat. So, Raynard, you walk in at the read-upon time, and Aaron is behind the desk. It's like 7 a.m. Caffe in hand. Thank you for punctuality, Raynard. Appreciate it. So, how are you doing? I'm well, how are you? Doing okay. Getting everything buttoned down and... Oh yes, you've had a big adjustment haven't you? Just a bit, yes. I asked you to come here because I'm assuming that you, now that you're back in good with your family and your family's associates, that your time with the clan is coming to an end pretty rapidly.
00:47:00
Speaker
Well, ah but most likely yes. I also called you here because, compared to your companions, you seem to strike me as the least, morally scrupulous of them. Okay, goodbye then. I would say that's a fair statement, yes. Excellent. Oh. That is staying so much with this group, by the way, of murderers. So, I have one last job for you, and I'll pay you well for this, and then you can consider your time with the clan squared away, done. Obviously not severed the relationship, but we are...
00:47:33
Speaker
completely completely square, as it were. Alright. Obviously you can reject this job if you want, but I am about to have a meeting in a few hours with Alira to try and square things away. Come to an understanding about the current state of the world. I don't know how that meeting is going to go, but I don't have the highest of hopes. So, I saw you do something while we were storming this room yesterday, where you were able to go invisible. Oh, yes. So I'd like you to do that just before a Lear gets here. And she gestures at the chair across from her desk that presumably somebody having meeting with her would be sitting in. I want you to stand right behind that chair. And if I give you the signal, I want you to take care of the problem. No one's there to know you're going to do it. What would the pay be? What would you like the pay to be?
00:48:24
Speaker
Many hats. Well, I would like a fancy outfit. I... Makes me look like a red panda. I have sort of a plan of my own for moving forward. I... I don't know to the extent of what you could do, but I think it might be easier if any... What's the word? Dang it. What time do I bring for it? make muffin anyny mcmuffffins If it would be easier on me if you could make me seemingly disappear to everyone. interesting us Because i I am planning on that, but it would save me a lot of time. conversations if I didn't need to have conversations. So you're wanting me to make your death? Is that what you're asking? Like people not no longer look for you or? That is going to be up to you because I don't plan on being here to find out. All right, we can manage that. Then I'll be here. Thank you, Rainard. Yes, and i'd I hope it
00:49:25
Speaker
Whatever happens ensures that you continue to be the best leader for the clan. I hope so too. All right. Well, the time comes for the meeting. Tick tock. This is the whole thing where I have to go get Aeris to recharge the Dragon Shard. I'm gonna litigate all of that real quick. Hold on, give me 30. I was from the Milo and I didn't make you in this room. Great. Don't tell him why. Okay, so you're hanging out invisible in Aerin's office. Eren walks in with Halira and you can immediately sense the tension between the two of them and Eren gestures at the chair across from her desk what the which is the one you're sitting in. She said she would give you a signal like you'll you'll know. five like she rear Get her! Now! So, she sits on her desk. So, obviously this is potentially awkward given the events of yesterday, but I want things to be fine between us. No, they'll never be good. and no I know they'll never be what they could have been.
00:50:26
Speaker
But obviously I have the plan now and I would like to know how you envision your future with the Boromar. And Reynard, you can kind of feel a Lyra bristle a little bit. Where do you see yourself in five years, right? Here's the thing, Aunt Erin. i I had feelers out for that little ragtag bunch that you enlisted to help with your coup, and I was working with Solomon Calloway. You might not be familiar with that name and the power that he wields in the city, but I know that Eris is in with the Citadel. I know that Eris has been working with an agent of the Citadel.
00:51:03
Speaker
and you getting out of the Dreadhold the way that you did you being able to lay low all of our city watch people on the take conveniently being gone at the right moment all of it says one thing the King Citadel owns the clan so I wonder how loyal everyone will be to you if I were to tell them and Aaron kind of sits back well But I've been so careful and secretive. That screaming and screaming sort of public places. That if it's carrying a lot of weight, Alira, what will it take for you to not? Well, let me think. Obviously you're not going to be willing to give up that chair, I don't imagine. So they've done what you needed them to do. They got you the chair. Let me have my vengeance. Let me avenge my father's death. And Aaron kind of...
00:51:51
Speaker
sits back and nods for a moment and then her eyes flip up to yours Raynard and she makes eye contact and she continues the nod but there's a nod that's a little bit deeper. Oh is she not gonna keep talking? She has given you the signal. No I mean I thought Lyra was still talking. No no okay she has she has made her offer. Not much longer. Well then goodbye. What do you do? Raynard Well I guess they decided how she's gonna die. Slits her throat? Okay, yeah. So seemingly out of nowhere, blood starts to run down the front of Alira's tunic as she gasps for air. And Erin has a look of sadness but inevitable kind of vibe. She said that didn't know it was gonna look like that.
00:52:32
Speaker
Wow. All right. Thank you, Raynard. You can drop the spell now. Well, that feels like I'm going to get caught. and You don't have to, but... No, I don't. Yeah. Maybe but lose the dagger. Yeah. Get out of the room. Yeah, I don't think Raynard says anything. I'll take care of this. For the next several minutes, Aaron keeps talking as the Raynard's in the room. Ray goes, actually, I'm going to take off. And then he's here. Sees the door open. So does Raynard not drop invisibility? No, not yet. Okay. Aaron kind of smirks and nods and like, that's fair. i was I'm just leaning on this arm. Peeping my notes. Yeah, me too. I think Reynard just says something like, like I said, from this moment on, I don't want to exist here. I'll make the arrangements. Thank you. Thank you. Farewell.
00:53:17
Speaker
who All right, at this point, take a beat, since we have a day before the city council stuff, does anybody have any business that they are trying to settle up before, oh, Randy's hand shot up? I also guess as well. Milo wishes to go pay visit to Kath and Sana. Well, those are two separate locations, right? You're gonna have to pick one. That's not a duo anymore. If that's the case, you're walking up

Milo's Farewells and Reflections

00:53:45
Speaker
to a fight. Let's go to Kath. Okay, so you go to Kath's apartment and... Sorry, just real quick, just so I can make sure order of operations going. Jeff, what's the thing that you were wanting to do? I would like to speak with Aaron about a new direction for an organization. Okay, so yeah, you get to Kath's apartment and Milo, as you approach, he knows the door is slightly ajar. So that's what you see initially. Milo knocks.
00:54:13
Speaker
There is no answer. And he opens the door. Okay. As you enter, you see that it's, it's pretty messy in here. You see quite a few bottles ah strewn about the place. And you also see some like bloody bandages in the the sink. Cause you know, this is a very kind of small apartment. We'd established it like the sink living area is right off the front door. And so that's what you see initially is it's, it's pretty messy and there are bloody bandages in the sink. Milo has his wand ready and keeps shouting for Kath as he cautiously explores. The the door to Kath's bedroom opens and you see her head poke. I was like, what do you want? Milo walks in and looks to see if she's injured. You see that there are some, like, scrapes, bruises. Her knuckles are pretty bloody, but, like, there's no grave injuries or anything. It just seems like the the products of being in a fight. Is there a chair in the room? I mean, she walks out in the hallway. Like, she, yeah, she pokes her head out and then... Hello, Cath. What do you want, Milo? I've come to tell you farewell and to apologize for not being the friend
00:55:22
Speaker
that you so deserved. I should have been there for you. If nothing else, then just as a friend, our friendship goes back a ways and I am ashamed that I have let you down. And I hope at some point you can forgive me. And I'm going to be leaving Sean to get away from everything here. And I just felt that I needed to tell you goodbye. I'm sorry too, Milo. I don't know where you're going, but I hope it's better. I hope so too. I have high hopes and I do and will cherish the memories of the family gatherings, the parties, the fun we used to have before all of the madness hit. Me too. And Milo gives her a hug. She like places a hand on your back and like it's she's not fully engaging in the hug, but she's acknowledging the gesture and participating in it in so far as she can.
00:56:16
Speaker
Farewell, Kath, I wish you all the best. You too, Milo. Milo exits.
00:56:25
Speaker
Yeah, okay. We'll do Jeff's, Hobbs meeting with Aaron, and then we'll go to Milo and Sana. At some point I- There's an auspicious bag being carried out of Aaron's office. There's a strange copper smell. And no, actually, there's a not unfamiliar copper smell of his office. Suddenly, let's bovoid. Is that chair more red? Why does it smell like Reinhardt? Oh, new chairs. Yeah. Mm. Mm. Raw. Erin's just grilling in the cookout. New carpet, too. Hands are shaking. New chairs, new carpet. You're really in it. She used up the place. Is that a sound? I think she's butchering meat. Yeah, Hob let's Erin know at some point that he would like to speak to her about his role going forward.
00:57:06
Speaker
Okay. And so this is whenever she sees fit to do that. It would be probably late afternoon. Sure. She gets her murders done early so that she can spend her real focus energy on the rest of the day. Yes, Aaron. I wanted to talk to you, you know, before the last few months, I was running security for the Klan. You're going around collecting money and that was about the extent of it and not causing harm. I was thinking, what would you say to a security organization that actually keeps things secure, does some protecting of people who need it in some of the lower neighborhoods, a Boromar presence that engenders goodwill. Interesting. I understand we can't do it for free. I was thinking perhaps we do a collection among businesses that want to buy in as opposed to Oh, i you know, I did it, so I feel comfortable saying, shaking down. yeah I don't feel comfortable doing saying it because I did it, but it's what I did do. Satan did want to go more legit. Is there a particular area that you would want to serve as a use case to prove that it's viable? I i mean, I think that we could be of service
00:58:19
Speaker
in Lower Memphis, I believe that we could be of service in, oh goodness, where's the consistent bird? It's in the upper part of the city. Oh, is it lowers it up? Okay. yeah The downstairs, that's kind of a lower class area. Downstairs is part of Lower Memphis. All over Lower Memphis, I think we could be really helpful, maybe as a start, since we're already kind of Alright. HQ'd here. So kind of flip it to where it's an opt-in as opposed to a, we own this neighborhood so pay us money? Yes, I have a feeling. How do I say this? It was never a large revenue stream. Milo ran the numbers, I saw what was going on.
00:58:55
Speaker
You know, I i mean, I really, I was just there to watch Milo. And so I saw the numbers. I don't think, and also to be clear, Aaron, I won't be doing that anymore. So that's fair you'll be finding someone else to do that job if you want it. But I would stay on in this and this um contingency. Would you want to lead this effort or would you like to be? on the ground doing the thing. Well, since you've brought it up, yes, I accept. We're going to need you to come up with a clever name for the division. I can do that. I can do that. I have friends who can do that. Perhaps you are familiar with Lucasiara. She's got away with words. Perhaps I can reach out to her. A very famous playwright. You're friends with her?
00:59:36
Speaker
A bit, yeah, she wanted, some of her muse, she wanted to use me in a show. It didn't work out, I was busy running for my life from, yeah, he yeah he doesn't know, from ah your niece. So it didn't work out. but Yes, and I would also ask, as the big ask here, I would like contingent on the people there agreeing. Perhaps we have a pro bono office in high walls. Why high walls? That's where I'm going to live and all my friends live there. That's fair. If they'll have me. I haven't talked to them about it either. I'm not Kyron, but I think they like me. I know they like her. And I don't know anything about the sigil thing, otherwise I would probably say something about if they would have us there too. Or perhaps we just give them some resources to protect themselves because they're freaking warlords. But I don't know that, so I don't say that.
01:00:22
Speaker
No, that could work. Make sure that, get back to me if High Walls is okay with having a Boromar presence and official capacity there. Right. There's a very real chance they'll say they don't need us and they might be right. Yeah. And once again, per your mandate with this endeavor, we only want to go where we want it. So yeah. And I understand that I'm asking a bit more than it seems. I appreciate you giving me a chance and there will be no hard feelings if you decide it's not working. Yeah, it seems like a good idea. Let's just try it out and see how it works and we'll move on from there. Might need to make some adjustments to the model and things like that, but sure it seems sound in concept.

Hobb's genuinely a little surprised that it went so easily, because it is taking money out of a pocket. And so he's just like, he doesn't want to jinx it. He's like, great, I'm going to go. Thank you very much. And I'm going to, I think, go talk to Aeris at High Walls and see what they want. All right. Sounds good. Get another team meeting the other Aeris. Thanks, Hobb. And thank you. What? Where are the cows? Are the cows available? When I used to have meetings here, I was left with a side of beef. My tree's not really my thing. Oh, gosh. she's like i'm into baking hundred i guess at some point eris also needs to meet with arin and yeah quit we'll pop over to you so mila where are you heading to track down sauna she's with olfin yeah just get both of them yeah so you walk into four sales and they're still a pretty

somber vibe it seems like they they're both still reeling from The news that was yesterday thrust upon them. Yeah. Oh that their friend died, right? That one of their friends accidentally killed another friend Who hasn't lost a friend so ah yeah, you walk in Milo and often looks up to like oh, hey Milo, how's it going? Good day, Ulfen. What is Sana about? She's in the back. I'll go fetch her. So, Mala goes to the back and asks, could you please come to the front? I have something I would like to tell you and Ulfen. Okay, and Sana follows you into the dining area. Ulfen looks confused and also, like, there's a great deal of anxiety. what now yeah I just wanted to tell you both goodbye I'm going to be leaving Sean I've never been out of Sean I'm going to be leaving Sean and why I'm just I don't know if you've if it's been hard to tell but I've been extremely unhappy since Kylie's passing and I just need to get away I need to get away from the clan I need to get away from

just all of it and I want to go out on my own and just wanted to tell you both goodbye. Ulfen kind of jumps in as Sana is pausing. I said, well, Milo, it's been a genuine pleasure having you around and sorry that you feel like you need to get away to get right, but I get it. If you ever need anything, obviously I'm here and Oliphant, you've always been here for us. And I just thank you so much for allowing us the use of your establishment. For crime. And a cruise. To conduct our illicit activities. But I just thank you for that. Sana, thank you for being one of my oldest friends. And I will often think of the fun times that we have had together. Perhaps we will at some point meet again.

Alright Randy, I'm going to need a charm check. I was waiting for when I was going to need to roll. We got, we got, thanks Randy. Put it away. Well I need to know. These character sheets. He's not charming, he is. Fairy charming, Randy. You're fairy charming. And difficulty is going to be. oh They are uninterested in being charmed. Look at my man farming despairs in the last... Is this persona? Yes. Where are my dice? Oh, you go there and there and there. You can have a boost because what the words you said were very good. so

I've got two of the yellers, a green, two reds, a purple, two blacks. Oh, and there's a little boosty blue. That's a rough roll. There's a despair. You see Eric's not good. Eric's somehow going to use that against me. This is not good. It's a full wash. And there's a despair. Yes, with a despair, sorry. A little wash with a despair. Just a despair. It is, isn't it? Well, first roll of the evening. Yep. I get the despair. Turns out, last one, we're all dead. The person Eris instructs to make to make Raynard disappear misunderstands the instruction. The signal doesn't do the disconnecting correctly and everything explodes. Sana's like, Milo, did you say something? I hate your stinking guts. No, I mean, Sana begins, Sana breaks. Like she begins openly like sobbing in front of Milo.
01:05:22

and shaking her head and to like kind of the final thing that Milo said about cherishing all the good times that they had together, Sana says, and there won't ever be any again. And she gets up and walks out of for sales. Sorry, I'm like, so part of the Genesis system, as as you all know, is, you know, you establish your desire, fear, strength, weakness at the start of the campaign, which you all did for your characters and The reason that that was a check, specifically in this specific situation, is I had those also for Sana, Catherine's, Sigil because they're parts of the crew. Sana's desire is love slash family and her fear is isolation. And so, you one by one,

people are disappearing. Oh god, she's only got Yumi and Ulfin. Oh. Well, she's got Ulfin. She's got Ulfin. She's got Ulfin. So, yeah, I mean just, yeah, the idea of Milo leaving without genuine reconciliation with everybody, just, yeah. Now, that's not saying that you can't try to follow up with Son or anything like that, but yeah, that's what's going on. For the despair. Oh, that wasn't the despair. Yeah, that was just the failure of the check. Oh, good. What's the despair? We'll hit our next the third party breakaway. Oh, no. what You What are you going to do to pour in his NPC?

So because Randy can't roll the cinematic view of the the campaign. So we see Sana storm out of for sales and we see Milo looking as she storms past him and the camera, as it were, zooms in on Milo's eye. And then as we pull out, it's still Milo's eye, but attached. oh no no oh every time this guy looking around hate it sorry we're still here what were you saying and this is a space that you all recognize this is the ruins underneath sharn that you all went through ah specifically the room with the large carved mural of

And you see Bela Shira standing in this room looking like, interesting. It's very interesting. And then footsteps into the room. And the voice says, what do you want, aberrant? Oh, Callaway, don't be like that. Now, are we still gonna do the whole pseudonym thing? I'm a very busy man. Not for much longer, unfortunately. I have a proposition for you. A job offer, as it were. Like I said, I'm a very busy man.
01:08:09
Speaker
What have you got going on? Callaway. Meddling around in high walls. Trying to poke and prod where you don't belong. Trying to ensure that she awakens. Yeah, that's not gonna happen though, is it? What do you mean? The city is full of artificers. Hell, even Eris and her little friend are gonna continue doing what they're doing. She'll awaken. She might. A week, month, year. But it won't matter. None of it will matter. Because no one will see. Your chapter's closing, Callaway. But you could step out of the pages to view the whole book. You've lost this round. I'm fighting a war. And I'd love for you to join. OK. Just waiting on that despair, weren't you? What? Why are you looking at me like that? Because you're the GM and you just stopped talking. I said OK. It's because we hate you. Also because that's not OK. That's why. It's not OK, Eric. It's not OK. You guys ready to get unfamily friendly? Because I'm about to start telling Eric what I think about him.
