If you run a coworking space or are part of a coworking alliance, this is for you.

On March 12th, coworking leaders from across the world are coming together for the Coworking Alliance Summit—an online event where we share what’s working, what’s not, and how we can help each other grow.

Why join?
✅ Connect with others who are building coworking alliances and networks.
✅ Learn from real experiences—what works, what doesn’t, and what’s next.
✅ Get ideas that will help your space or alliance thrive.
✅ Bring your team—so they hear fresh perspectives and new strategies.

Who can attend?

  • If you’re in a coworking alliance, you can get free tickets (just grab the code for your members).
  • If you’re not part of an alliance yet, you’re still welcome—this is a great way to learn how they work and meet like-minded people.

What’s on the agenda?
It’s like an unconference, meaning you get to choose the sessions that matter to you. Topics include:
🎯 How to build and grow a coworking alliance.
🏗️ How alliances can support coworking spaces with funding and visibility.
💡 Big ideas: Community land trusts, cooperative models, and what’s next for coworking.

Hello folks. Hello, LinkedIn group. It's Bernie and Ashley here. We are two of the people that run this LinkedIn group. So we thought for the first time ever, we'd say, hello, my video. So Ashley, like I start every podcast, what are you known for and what do you know like to be known for?
00:00:16
Ashley Proctor
I am the founder of Creative Blueprint and the executive director of Co-working Canada, and I think I would like to be known just for bringing people together and making an impact in the world.
00:00:27
Producer
I'd like to be known for bringing people together too and we're we're doing that if you're watching this right now at the end of February if you happen to be in London and I know a lot of people in this group will be there there's the workspace design show which is at the business design centre in London and by way of introducing me is I run the and one of the co-founders of the Coworker Values podcast and the London Coworker Assembly and do loads of stuff with European Coworker Assembly and Ashley and I are always like connecting over things there. So that's the kind of background

Upcoming Global Coworking Summit

story. But why we're making this video today to say hello to you folks is because there's the Coworking Alliance Summit coming up in the beginning of March. So can you can you explain that for the folks at home who have yet to connect with it?
00:01:08
Ashley Proctor
Yeah, the Co-working Alliance Summit is an online event. It's about three hours, and we do it every year in March. This year, it's going to be on March 12th. And all of the Co-working Alliances around the world are invited to participate. Even if you're not an Alliance member, you're also welcome to attend. ah Alliance members receive free tickets. You just have to sign up on the website to get a code to provide your Alliance members. um and And folks who are not part are welcome as well because we want to share our practices out around the world and learn from others. So everybody's welcome.

Am I Part of a Coworking Alliance?

00:01:39
Producer
how how would i How would I know if I'm an a alliance, actually?
00:01:44
Ashley Proctor
Many of us are part of regional co-working alliances, like the European Co-working Assembly, or perhaps the Co-working Toronto, Co-working Ontario, or BC Alliance, for example. um And so if you're part of a regional alliance, have someone reach out and fill out the form, and you can bring back the code to all of your members.
00:02:02
Producer
And so there's, if you're in all around Europe, there's some coworker lines, it's like the German co-working Federation and co-working Spain and co-working Hungary and lots lots of those. So it's a really good opportunity to go, you know,

bring people from those

Summit Topics and Format

groups. And this has definitely worked for us in the London Coworking Assembly, is getting people from the Alliance, people who are participating a bit in the Alliance to come to the Coworking Alliance Summit and hear other people talking about the same thing. Because you might be very active leading in your Alliance, but then when you bring other people from your Alliance or your Assembly or your cooperative, whatever you want to call it, to to that event, they will hear other things and go, why we why don't we do that?
00:02:47
Producer
And you'll go, I don't know, I just never thought of it like that. And that's that's part of the magic of, like we're always talking about getting people together. So what else can we find out about this?
00:02:57
Ashley Proctor
Yeah, there's a lot of different topics so part of the uncomfortable part of the summit functions like an unconference in the sense that you get to pick the topics that interest you most and attend those sessions. And there are sessions dedicated to newer alliances like how to build and grow your alliance, how to become sustainable or get exposure for spaces in your region.
00:03:16
Ashley Proctor
And then there are also topics that are for more established alliances or people who have been part of these organizations for a while, like looking at those bigger picture issues, like how might we work together between that network of alliances to support newcomers or um put ah workplace development programming in place. So we cover a lot of different topics.

Past Challenges in Member Communication

00:03:36
Ashley Proctor
Last year, we talked a lot about community land trusts and alternative models for cooperative and employee ownership. So a lot of exciting things come across our across the feed during this summit.
00:03:47
Producer
and And so many times there's been things that this has definitely happened, you know, and all the time we've been doing this is we will hear something in like 2018 and we don't get to do it to like 2022 because we heard it in 2018. I mean, we're not going to, we're nowhere near this yet, but the the thing about community land trusts that I don't know when that will actually happen in London, but people who came to that are already like,
00:04:14
Producer
their radar is on for how could we do that for our community co-working space in London. And it might take years, some of these are really big projects, it might take years to do that. um Something that, I mean, I love this, but something that always comes up is how to just communicate with members when you do that in an app or an email, or do you make a website? And when you run a small alliance or an assembly or you're getting people together,
00:04:39
Producer
you could spend six months trying to work out what to do. And then if you come to something like this, people three people will say, we tried this, this worked, this didn't. And you know you you're off to the often the races, as we sometimes say in England.

How to Get Tickets to the Summit

00:04:53
Producer
So where can where can people get in touch and find out about this? We could put a link under this video in the um LinkedIn group. You need to do that, Ashley, just to like you know online. But how do we get into it?
00:05:05
Ashley Proctor
Yeah, you can go to the coworkingalliancesummit dot.com and you can find tickets there. But if you are a part of Alliance, make sure you get your ticket code because your ticket's free.
00:05:14
Producer
i All right, I think that's enough for today. So say goodbye. Thanks for watching, folks.
