In this episode, I am going to be talking about believing in yourself and just actually doing what you think looks good.
00:00:51
Speaker
You see, all the time, people make the big mistake of trying to make pottery for other people and they are just trying to, whatever they're making, they're just trying to sell their pottery. And I know I say this a lot, but it's because it's true. It's because we are only trying to sell our pottery that we can't end up finding our voice and we don't end up actually believing in ourselves because we're just too focused on what other people are thinking.

Believing in Your Work and Audience Focus

Speaker
So how do you actually believe into your pottery into yourself? Well, I think it starts with you accepting that this is what I want my pottery to look like.
00:01:38
Speaker
other people don't like it fine cool whatever and I'll find those people that will like my pottery and that's I think that's probably the really the easiest thing that you can do is just kind of start believing yourself it's just really accept that not everybody is gonna like my pottery if you can accept that not everybody's gonna like your pottery or my pottery whatever then you're gonna go a lot further because in the great words of Gary V here he says

Speaker
Who cares what people say or don't give a fuck as he says it. Then that's

Creating Pottery for Personal Happiness

Speaker
true. Just don't give a fuck what other people are saying about your pottery. If you want to make pottery with carvings on it, go make pottery with carvings on it. Even if it looks like other people's, go make it anyway. Because if it makes you happy and you enjoy carving pottery, then go do it.
00:02:34
Speaker
You don't have to have permission from someone to do something. Actually just go do it. Believe in yourself enough that my pottery is good enough for me, not for everybody else. It's good enough for me. And if you can get into that mindset that my pottery is good enough for me, then I'm gonna be 10 times happier and I don't have to worry about what other people think about my pottery.

Overcoming Imposter Syndrome in Pottery

00:02:58
Speaker
My pottery is good enough for me. And I want you to keep on thinking about that because
00:03:03
Speaker
your pottery is good enough for you. Even if it isn't right now where your skills are at, eventually it will be good enough for you. So you just gotta start believing in yourself right now so that you are able to push past that imposter syndrome and not believing in yourself.
