They are so magical and meaningful, and I mean magical in the magical sense. I mean, just as in open your eyes and look at them. Just look at what they are doing and there is difficulty and there is hardship in their lives, but they just carry on.- Andrew Anderson

October Special #2 Transcript
Today, we have a  guest who is here to share insights about his new book, "The Magic of Cats." With a background in creative writing and an adventure into the realm of Celtic bear gods, Andrew Anderson takes us on a fascinating journey exploring the complex world of cat symbolism, from ancient Egyptian beliefs to the association between cats and witchcraft. He challenges stereotypes surrounding cats and offers a fresh perspective on these beloved creatures, inviting us to see them as more than just enigmatic familiars.

We'll also be navigating the intriguing history of cats, particularly the dark superstitions that have surrounded and impacted them over the years. Andrew will guide us through the complex legacy of this history on the cats we adore today, shedding light on the unjust persecution of black cats. Get ready to journey through various spiritual practices associated with cats, their portrayal in literature, and the important role they play in Islamic and Chinese cultures.

Guest: After trying a number of spiritualties, Andrew discovered Druidry in 2015. He is currently studying the Druid grade with the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids. He moved to Stratford-upon-Avon in 1996 and has lived there ever since. He has recently retrained as an Environmental Manager to put his love of nature and the environment to practical use . Andrew loves story-telling in all its forms, whether it be poetry, novels, theatre, film or TV. He enjoys going to open mic events, reading his poetry and hearing the work of others. He loves working with the spirit of a place and loves spending time in the nearby Cotswold hills. He doesn't have any children but does have two cats, who are just as much of a handful!  @ajanderson72 on Instagram
