Virginia and Mariana take a stroll into Montessori history at a pivotal moment for the path of Montessori education. Just after the success of Montessori’s first “casa dei bambini,” Dr. Montessori, the scientist, was keen on testing there educational theories in classrooms around the world. As Montessori teachers and parents of young children, they both discuss why history is important to examine, how this part of the story of Montessori education effects us today, how they use aspects of this history in everyday parenting.

Virginia Stone Rogers is a passionate supporter of the child and committed to helping caregivers navigate the first years of parenting.

Virginia has been around Montessori since birth, as the child of two Montessorians. She started working in classrooms in high school, and never went back! Virginia completed her Assistants to Infancy training (AMI) at Montessori Northwest in 2015. After leading a toddler program for 6 years Virginia took a year off to spend with her newborn son and commit to parent support work. In her spare time she enjoys knitting, cooking and learning about children.
