Davante Adams: Tell me how was your experience this ah summer with the tours, man. because I have yet to be in the musician, bro. and It's crazy because I'm a musician. I'm an artist. you know I rap. I engineer. I do all this stuff, but I never went to a live show. like

Davante Adams: I say never, bro. I've been to... like you know i go to We go to the hip-hop shows and we go to the We go to, i've seen like one real live something.
Davante Adams: It was at a restaurant. You know what I'm saying? Like I'm real. I ain't never been to no, mean, you know, you go to the festivals and stuff and you see little stuff.

Davante Adams: I'm talking about, I don't know. It's changing because I have to, I have to get out there now because just like being a musician, I just want to be in these, I want to be on stage on the drums now. So, but you got to listen to the actual, you got to watch it live.
Davante Adams: It's different live versus just playing in the church. You know, I've been playing in church my whole life, so.

Neptvne Blvez: No, it's all good. No, my, to be honest, I've had a nice summer. I can't complain. Um, I've been, been trying to put myself out there a lot more.
Neptvne Blvez: ah um, just been, you know, experimenting with different like crowds in terms of like, not even just my own creation of music, but like i said, well, like you just said, I went to Electric Forest. That was big for me. That was really different.
Neptvne Blvez: That was something, I've gone to live concerts and festivals and stuff like that for quite a few years now, but that is like a once in a lifetime experience when it's your first time going, I've heard.
Neptvne Blvez: But I for sure want to go again into other festivals like that. But I can't quite describe it. It was magical just at Forest. But aside from ah Forest, all of the different concerts that I personally performed at and shows were really nice.
Neptvne Blvez: They weren't major yet, but that's fine. I've had like a lot of major milestones, personal and like, you know, musically.

Neptvne Blvez: I told you with the Lollapalooza thing, I i was kind of like a finalist in that whole thing to possibly perform at Lollapalooza. And that was an experience in itself, not because of that, but because of my family being there.
Neptvne Blvez: A lot of my family that never got a chance to see me for the first time were actually at that performance. And my baby niece came out and surprised me during my performance. So it was just a lot of
Davante Adams: That's dope. That's dope.
Neptvne Blvez: it was a lot of warm moments and this summer, even though it's still going on, it's just been, it's been amazing, bro. To say less, to say the least, sorry.
Davante Adams: No, that's dope. That's like a that's pretty cool. Like you said, you had your niece. Your niece popped up.
Neptvne Blvez: Yeah, it was, i was doing some crowd work and um I was walking through the crowd and everything like that. And my niece is, she's very young. She's, about six years old she's walking through the crowd and she popped up and um i was performing with the mic and she came and i said hey to her and everything like that i had some bubble gum i was passing out to the people in the crowd you know was going along but one of my songs is called bubble gum yeah
Davante Adams: Yeah, yeah. I remember seeing that. That was dope. I was like, this dude snapped.
Neptvne Blvez: i it's called bubble gum and she popped up and she she reached in the bin and she got a a bunch of bubble gum out of the bin so it It really was dope. It was really, really nice seeing the reactions and just aside from that, my family was what did it for me. Forget the reactions of the crowd and everything like that. My family being there meant everything to me. And that probably was the the biggest highlight of my summer.
Davante Adams: That's pretty dope, bro. ain't gonna lie to you. know I'm just sitting here just, and um I'm just taking it out, Lynn, because, pause, just because it's it's it's a lot of gems that you're dropping in there, you know what I'm saying?

Davante Adams: and also And also, I salute you on everything that you do because I know how hard it can be, you know, working schedule that we work and then applying yourself to your music like that, you know saying? Davante Adams: What's a lesson you learned in life that shaped your music?
Neptvne Blvez: who A lesson that I've learned in life,
Davante Adams: That shaped your music.
Neptvne Blvez: you you can't take any shortcuts.
Davante Adams: Hmm. Okay. okay
Neptvne Blvez: um When I was younger, I used to take shortcuts a lot. in terms of school, in terms of life, in terms of just like, when it came to being competitive athletic being competitive athletically, i um felt like I maybe didn't always take shortcuts, but occasionally I did.
Neptvne Blvez: But you just get to notice in certain things that And it adds up. The little shortcuts you don't take adds up. I mean, the little change in your jar that you spend every now and then adds up if you put it all together and you don't have it.
Neptvne Blvez: So, I mean, when you taking that little change on the dollar shortcut thinking that you cool in life, it kind of adds up to the point where you're going to be missing a lot of of what you wish you had.
Davante Adams: Right.
Neptvne Blvez: a lot of those skills, a lot of those, ah the knowledge.
Davante Adams: Uh-huh.
Neptvne Blvez: whatever it is, and um just not taking shortcuts has allowed me to get so much further in my music because I've taken the time to study the craft and the game and the history of it and the people before me, the elders and the pioneers. And I'm ah um'm a big hip-hop historian.
Neptvne Blvez: And um i I give a lot of homage to the people before me in the eighty s the 90s, all of that.
Davante Adams: yeah
Neptvne Blvez: the people before me that like kind of set the path and paved the way and um I wouldn't be who I am without them so a lot of people who I like wouldn't be who they are without them so it's like you know I'm saying I gotta um study what they did and
Davante Adams: Yeah.

Neptvne Blvez: and look at myself and also look at my own mistakes and honor value what I like the most and value the most and just stand by that as a man the end of the day don't take them shortcuts and doing it the harder way is more fulfilling even though it's the harder way
Davante Adams: Yeah, you get more. Yeah, just like, you know, like for some people it's working hard, you know what I'm saying? Going home and smoking that blunt after just eight hours, 10 hours of work, whatever. It's rewarding. You know what I'm saying? Like it's Or taking a drink, whatever but it is that fulfills you. and You know what saying? That makes you feel good. it's like It's like that feeling of just knowing that I did it that way.
Davante Adams: you know i did i did I did it the way that I was supposed to do it in my eyes. And I know that I didn't take any shortcuts. So in the back of my mind, I won't be thinking about any of it. And you won't have any regrets.
