So, Romelu Lukaku, Too Cool and Chelsea have basically given up on him now. Is there now a real chance that he could return to him this summer?
Speaker: Well, what we do know is that Lukaku certainly wants a return back to Inter. I think there's no doubt that he will leave or part ways with Chelsea this summer if Tuchel stays, and I think he will stay. But regardless, it's quite clear that Lukaku is not happy with the situation. We know for a fact that he's been contacting Inter and he's been making it very clear that he wants to return back to Inter and he really wants to return and redeem himself
Speaker: because of the way he left him, he's not too happy about that. But the question is, it comes down to money. Chelsea paid €150 million for him. Inter can't buy him back because they just can't afford to pay those sums. And also his wages. He earns quite a bit
Speaker: quite a lot over what Inter are able to pay. It comes down to the finances, and I just don't see how Inter can afford to convince Chelsea's new ownership, whoever that will be, to loan him for a nominal fee and then have Chelsea pay part of his wages as well.
Speaker: The only way I see it happening is if it comes down to the last days or even the last day of August, the final transfer deadline day, and Lukaku hasn't got a buyer and they just decide on the day, right? There's no point keeping him around. Let's send him away on loan, subsidise half the wages and it gets done like that.
