And you know, sometimes it's just good to pull out those things that you've taught before and share them again, because it is a blessing. I love to hear, man, I go back and listen to messages I've already heard all the time because it helps build your faith. Why? Because faith comes by hearing.

Well, was He talking about physical ears? No, everyone had physical ears. So how do you get ears to hear? You get ears to hear by being in the Word of God, by listening. That's why Joshua 1.8 says that you need to meditate on the Word of God day and night, day and night, over and over again. You keep the Word of God before you. And and look, you see that throughout the books of Acts. yeah All through the book of Acts, where the disciples knew where to go because they had direction of the Holy Spirit, or they started to make a wrong decision. Holy Spirit corrected them. He let them know what it was that was coming. I love the ministry of the Holy Spirit. So I'm excited. It's not like you're preaching to me, but that's why I want to let you finish this. All right. Then next it says, he will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me.

Right. And the reason why people don't, excel, they don't succeed, or they don't live a life or that Christ has provided for us is because they don't have direction. So it is it is the Holy Spirit that gives us the direction, what to do, where to go, what house to buy, what vehicle to get, you know, everything. Or what supermarket you should go, maybe you don't go to Target or stay in Walmart. I'm just giving an example.

you know what i'm saying yeah because he wants to be involved in our daily life i'm telling you something that even myself i you know i have to repent and now i'm training myself to be conscious of for the holy spirit in every decision and every activity things that I do now always require well the the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because see i why I say, Holy Spirit, if you know what is going on, or maybe you're praying for something, especially on when you are praying for somebody. Right now, I'm speaking to someone.

but you know You've been praying for your health. You've been praying for you know so issues in your life. You've been praying for someone. But it seemed to me like you are not getting the answer to your prayer.

Now, can you try this? Can you stop praying, making a decree and go back to the Holy Spirit? Say, Holy Spirit, what do you think about this situation?

What is the way out of this crisis? And you will see. I feel like I sense that Holy Spirit will give you instruction, guidance. And the moment you apply these instructions into that situation, your miracle will manifest. Receive that in the name of Jesus. Receive it. Just ask these two questions and your life will become a great testimony. And you will testify of the greatness of God in your life. And the answer will come.

Balancing Spiritual and Practical Decisions

You can ask honest question, Holy Spirit, ah Jesus, what is the way out of this? What can I do? And He will tell you. Yeah, and I think what you said is key because what's important is we have fellowship with the Holy Spirit, right? Some people, I've heard you know ah ah the story about this guy who took it to the extreme where he's like, I can't leave my house until the Holy Spirit tells me which tie to wear. Well,

God gave us a brain to make decisions. Common sense. Yeah, common sense. But if we continuously have fellowship with the Holy Spirit and we're asking for His input on things, He's going to guide us, on you know, on what to do, on things like that where so we need the wisdom of the Holy Spirit on how to address certain situations or how to do certain things. And sometimes we may be, you know, on our way to Target and the Holy Spirit says, I want you to go Walmart instead. because He has someone there He wants to pray for us or He's protecting us. But it doesn't mean that every time. yeah you know It's that fellowship with the Holy Spirit. The fellowship, you know, there's a there is a rich ah richness of the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. For example, let let me give you ah another example from ah Old Testament, King Esau.

You know, there was a king, Esau, the Bible talks about it. And you know, what happened was, he was, you know, God blesses god blesses him, all right? God elevates him, so he came into a place of power.

And he used to pray. He used to ask the guidance of the Holy Spirit. yeah So he always, he he's so passionate about God. Now, when he became very big, God put him in that place of power.

And guess what? Now he has no time to pray or require you know ah guidance from God. So what he did was he felt he was very sick.

So instead of asking okay the Holy Spirit praying, ask God, what do what what can I do in this situation? You know what he did? He went to see his bed the best doctor.

I'm not saying going to see your doctor anything wrong with it. Well, you have to be careful because God is very jealous about your life. He wants to be your number one. That's why you got to pray.

Okay. Prayer is the Holy Spirit that make a prayer life very beautiful. So, so what what he did was he went to see because he now he has money. He has the life insurance. So he has, he has a health insurance before.

He was broke. God blesses him. Now, guess what? He has no time to pray. When he fell sick, he went to see his doctor.

And God wasn't happy about this. And God told him, you're going to die. And he asked why? He said, because you never well asked me about this situation.

So I'm not telling you not to go to see your doctor, yeah but i want you to put God first, not only in your health situation, maybe if everything. You want to make an investment, whatever you want to do in this life. I want you to require or the wisdom of the Spirit of the Most High God. And when you do these things, I'm telling you you can never you, you can never make a mistake.
Recognizing the Holy Spirit’s Voice

yeah And that's why you can never. Now, if you want to hear of if you want to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, you can never neglect your Bible. It's not going to happen. God will never speak anything to you. Or the Holy Spirit, it said the Holy Spirit will never bring anything to your attention without that is opposite, contrary to the scriptures.

And I thought about, you know, before I married you, I made a dumb decision in the past. I'm serious. So I've been a victim of doing what I'm telling you. You know, I made a bad decision in the past. And finally, you know, I say, Father, you got to help me here. I was honest.

So, and the Holy Spirit gave me your name. That's how I know that she's my wife. God gave me her name. And I asked for the who is Chelsea and the rest is history. So I know what the Holy Spirit can do.

Can I just say since you mentioned that, so the Holy Spirit gave you my name, which He needed my name because I gave Him a hard time. But I knew by the Holy Spirit that you were the person that I was going to marry to because you were the first person. brought me to hell. Finally, I have to pray God will speak to this lady.

I was just, i say i did it the right way. You did, you did. That's good. I love that, you know. I highly encourage you, if you are a lady, you want to get married, you can don't just, you know, be ah be be loose. Yeah, and don't go around dating everybody. You don't need to do that. Yeah, make make it a bit hard for the guy. If yeah he's really serious, he's going to chase you. I told the Holy Spirit I would rather be single the rest of my life than married to the wrong person. And I had my list of what um my expectations were for my husband. Now, I want to talk about my list because sometimes people have crazy things on there that shouldn't be on their list. My list was number one. He had to be so on fire for Jesus. I had to run after Jesus. to stay up with my husband, number one.

Number two, I knew where God had called me in ministry. And so number two is he had to have that same heart and passion to be in ministry where God had called me. These are the things that are important. you know when When you're looking for someone to marry, it's you know God calls you to do things together. um as a couple, does your vision match? If somebody feels called to be a missionary in Africa and someone else wants to be a finance director in Chicago,

not a good match, you know, i mean, just common sense. But but so so you were the first guy that came into my life that I thought maybe you could possibly, you know, fit the criteria. But I knew, you know, I knew she wouldn't do it Spirit had not spoken to me yet. And she passed the test. He did. you'd Well, and the first time we met, he asked me like the 20 questions. Yeah, I did. Like, where do you see God, you know? Because, i you know why? Because I know we're talking about the Holy Spirit. It's all about the Holy Spirit. Because I don't want to make a foolish this mistake again. i don't want to go back to hell. Yeah, so I thought I'm never gonna see this guy again, because he was a friend of of a friend of mine. and um And I thought I would never see him again. And so I'm like answering all these questions, just thinking we're talking about God, right? Because we both love God, and he's interviewing me as his future wife and I. So anyway, but you were very persistent at asking me. And I just kept telling him no. Okay, let me answer that question. Okay. Why?
Persistent Prayer and Divine Guidance

That's why if you are praying for anything, if you are praying for your health, you're praying for your finances, you cannot just pray casual prayer.

You've got to be honest with yourself. How bad are you bad? How much do you want to pay? do you want this? That's why you have to stick with faith. Because when God speaks to you you, you get, I don't know, it gives you some kind of ah audacity. yeah It strengthen your faith.

Wow. That's what happened to me because I knew it was like ah the voice of go was talking in me. You know, I thought about um the first man, Adam. and the Bible said God was talking to them. The voice of God of god was speaking to them, was walking with them.

that's what That was my experience. That's why I knew that this is from him. It's not just from my my own head. which is Which is good because you didn't get discouraged when I turning you down. No, did So finally, he was so very persistent. So finally, he asked me out again and I said, look I'm not going to marry you, so I'm not going to have coffee with you. Listen to this. lady is setting you You did well. yeah That's right. Yeah. and you You got to know from the Legos. So, you know, one day I was going on a walk and I was just talking to the Holy Spirit. Like I said, like i didn't I didn't think that he was the Holy Spirit and hadn't spoken to me that I was going to marry him. um But, you know, as I got to know him more, he was the first person that I was like, yeah, he's on fire for Jesus. He has the same heart for ministry. And but, you know, the Holy Spirit and hadn't spoken to me yet. So I was just taking a walk, you know, nothing super spiritual. I was talking to the Holy Spirit about it. And I'll never forget. I stopped at a park and I sat on a swing and the Holy Spirit said, what?

what is on your list look at your list and I realized oh he meets everything on my list and I knew because the Holy Spirit said what's on your list man and I knew that at that moment I was going to marry him and so before i ever went on a first date with him I knew I was going to marry him so that that No, that's beautiful. How we, we, we're not preaching something to you that we don't, experience ourselves. And and i can I just say too, I do mention along that, no but it but we did develop a friendship. yeah Now, and can I say, ah not intentionally on my part, um but you were everywhere everywhere i went. It's the Holy Spirit's orchestrating everything so she cannot escape. You know, that's, hey, trust the Holy Spirit.

Salvation and the Holy Spirit

Because we know that if you're not born again, you can't be filled with the Holy Spirit. But the Holy Spirit still has a role to play. yeah So the Holy Spirit in the world, again, at the beginning of the scripture, it says that that the Holy Spirit

convicts the world of sin. That is the role of the Holy Spirit. Now remember, in the in the book of Romans, Paul says no one is without excuse because even nature testifies of God. No one is out of excuse excuse because the Holy Spirit is in the world convicting people of sin. people know that things are evil and wrong i mean like don't kill someone that's evil there's the holy spirit to convict us that that's wrong and the goodness of god to draw men to repentance so the holy spirit is working in the world to draw people in but that's different than if you're a believer and you have a deposit of the holy spirit so there's and i want to start to get into this i know we're almost out of time but

the Holy Spirit at salvation yeah and being filled or baptized with the Holy Spirit. What the Bible says about the Bible explains that is two different experiences. And you can see that as you go through the book of Acts or in the Bible. And i so I just want to explain it this way because I was like, okay, Holy Spirit, how Can you explain the difference between, because there's a work of the Holy Spirit in salvation, because it's the Holy Spirit that draws you um into salvation. So when you get saved, what happens?

You become a brand new creature, right? Yeah. that's So what salvation is, is building the new house. That's what it is. Brand new. I think it's 2 Corinthians 5, verse 17. I'm to give that. I know since you said that, because i know what she's beginning to tell you is to, it is, ah we are laying on the foundation of but what we're going to step into. Yeah. You know, praying in the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 5, verse 17, right? Yeah, it says, This means anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. Amen. The old life is gone. a new life is begun. Has begun.

Wow, what a testimony. Yeah, so when you become a new creature, it's like, Brand Building a brand new house, right? The house is completely built. So there's no past. There's no past. It's a brand new house. OK. it present and future? Never existed before. Wow. It's built brand new, completely washed, righteous, right? The old man died. It's a brand new. So there's a brand new house that's been built up.

Now when you're baptized with the Holy Spirit, that's when the Holy Spirit comes and lives in the house that was built, right? So that's there's a difference there between receiving salvation, because that's when you become brand new.

That is the work of salvation, yeah you become a brand new person. Baptism is when the Holy Spirit comes to live inside, dwell, fill to overflowing rivers of living yeah um water into you. So that's what we want to start getting into on the next next week. So going have to come back next week because we're going to go through the entire book of Acts. We're going to show you examples of people getting saved and then the separate um experience of baptism. We're going to show you in scripture where it talks about being baptized in the Holy Spirit, different from
