International Future: Italy or Nigeria?

00:00:15
Speaker
So let's talk about national team. You were born in Italy to Nigerian parents and you've played for the Italy youth teams. Do you see your international senior future with Italy or with Nigeria?
00:00:26
Speaker
Yeah, I was born in Italy, so I feel more Italian. I grew up playing with all the young people of Italy, so I want to continue with Italy. I hope to reach the first team and win more things possible.
00:00:41
Speaker
Yeah, I'm sure you will. And you say you want to reach the first team. Roberto Mancini, he values young players. He's given a lot of young players chances.

Aspirations for Italy's National Team

Speaker
You know, Zagnolo is a good example. He made his Italy debut before he even played for his club. So is it your ambition to maybe break into the Italy squad quite soon, maybe before Euro 2024? Is that an ambition of yours?
00:01:07
Speaker
Yes, of course it's an ambition because I just have to give more, I have to do my best every game so I can show him my quality and yeah, it's a big ambition but I hope to be able to reach it.

Reflecting on Nigeria & Favorite Player

00:01:22
Speaker
And just a question from our Nigerian listeners. Have you ever been to Nigeria and who is your favourite Nigerian footballer ever?
00:01:32
Speaker
Yeah, I've been a legend, but I was very small. I was like two years. So I don't remember much, but I've been there. And my favorite player, of course, is the coach, because he's a big legend. So I think every legendary player go in. But I don't. A big, big legend. Yeah, he was a legend. I loved him as well.
