Raising Entrepreneur‑Minded Kids

In this episode we’re talking to an entrepreneur who’s spent years building, acquiring, and growing businesses, and who has a deep passion for helping families recognize and nurture entrepreneurial potential in their kids. We’re exploring what it actually looks like to raise entrepreneur‑minded children, how to tell when your child might be wired for that path, and the practical ways you can help them develop the skills, habits, and confidence to begin early.

This isn’t about pushing kids into business. It’s about recognizing their unique wiring, guiding them with wisdom, and giving them the tools to build something meaningful with their lives.

Jay Bourgana is an entrepreneur, an acquisitions expert, and a builder who’s spent years helping business owners grow, scale, and think differently about opportunity. But what I appreciate most about Jay is the way he connects all of that experience back to family—back to how we can guide our kids toward confidence, creativity, and ownership in their own lives.

Jay has worked with countless founders through Acquisitions Collective, and he’s seen firsthand the traits, habits, and mindsets that set entrepreneurs apart. And today, he’s helping us translate that into parenting: how to recognize when your child might be wired for entrepreneurship, how to nurture that spark without forcing it, and how to help them develop the skills to begin exploring that path early.
