MLS Cup Engagement

00:02:06
Speaker
All right, so I have a few updates that I needed to pass along here. First of all, if you didn't notice, the MLS Cup is now here. So say hello.
00:02:18
Speaker
And we have a favor to ask if you use your own camera or whatever you do to shoot it. Just tag Sounder at Heart or Nos Adietes just so we can kind of share these things with a wider audience. It's such a great turnout. We just want to be able to kind of share this with the world. So thanks for doing that.
00:02:39
Speaker
There is still a handful of shirts, I guess, left if you're interested in buying one. If you want to buy one and there's none left and there's enough people, we're happy to make a supplemental order. There's still a few Ascot's left. And there's still posters, there's stickers. So anyway, go and buy some of that stuff. If you're so inclined, there's also a few tickets. We were able to come up with a few more physical tickets.
00:03:07
Speaker
So if that was something that you missed out on and you wanted one, come check them out up at the front. And finally, I'm told that if you're standing and you want a seat, there's probably a seat if you just ask. We could probably squeeze in a little tighter if we needed to. I would hate for anyone to pass out from having too much fun. So there's like right there, for instance.

Autism Center Acknowledgment

00:03:33
Speaker
The next thing we're going to have come up is a quick presentation from the Autism Center. Tim Foss is going to come up after that, do an ASCOT demonstration, and then we have a recorded interview with Christian Roldan. And then we'll kind of work our way towards the sounders panel. But for now, David Eaton, Lindsay Miller from CL Children's. And so if you want to just stand up. Stand up.
00:04:02
Speaker
You've got to talk. You're the clinic director. OK, great. It's great. Hello, hello, hello. Thank you, everyone. I'm the director of the Seattle Children's Autism Center. And we are just so excited to be able to say thank you for thinking that the proceeds from here happening today coming to Autism Center. So I want to take two seconds and just first say thank you.
00:04:24
Speaker
Second, I want to say a little bit about autism, just a couple seconds, so make sure we're all leaving this room with just a little bit of knowledge about autism. And then we're going to take about two seconds to have David here, one of our exceptional practitioners, tell you guys a little bit about what we'd be using the proceeds from today.
00:04:41
Speaker
Quick bit about autism. It is the most common neurodevelopment disorder out there right now. And there's a little saying about autism in the field, and that is, if you've met a child with autism, you've met a child with autism. And that speaks to how unique each individual child is. Each child or adult
00:04:59
Speaker
comes to us with a whole host of different challenges and very unique strengths. Now, one of the commonalities is that all individuals with autism struggle with social communication interaction and have the presence of restricted or repetitive interests and behaviors.
00:05:17
Speaker
But from there, that's the commonality, from there we have an incredible variety of variability. Some kids with autism and adults with autism have intellectual disability. Others have IQs that are in the genius range. Some individuals with autism have seizures, others don't. Some individuals with autism struggle with gastrointestinal challenges, have sleep disorders, struggle with depression, anxiety, many of the other psychiatric disturbances.
00:05:41
Speaker
And so that makes things very, very, very challenging for individuals to learn, to engage with the community and interact with the community at events like this to work. And so it's kind of daunting for many families. But I'm going to say one thing that's at least hopeful. So in addition to Seattle being the greatest place for soccer, it's also one of the greatest places for autism in that we have one of the best autism centers in the whole world here.
00:06:12
Speaker
Last year, we were able to serve over 4,000 unique patients at the Autism Center. 4,000 patients. And that was through over 20,000 patient visits. And that was due to the tireless energy of our practitioners like David and like Lindsay here. But also...
00:06:33
Speaker
Thank you so much for those classes, so wonderful. Also due to philanthropy. We couldn't do all this work without philanthropy because there's so many things that we provide for individuals with autism. Well, there's so many things that we can get reimbursed for, yada, yada, yada for medical care, this, that, the other thing. But there's so many things that aren't supported or provided by insurance companies. Most asks come from philanthropy. So I'm going to stop screaming at you and I'm going to say, David, tell everyone a little bit about what the funds from today will support.
00:07:03
Speaker
So thank you, Rafe. So today,

Ascot Tying Humor

00:07:07
Speaker
yes.
00:07:09
Speaker
So today, all the funds, all the proceeds from today are gonna fund these awesome big red safety boxes. They cost $35 for us to purchase them, but that's $35 that then we don't have to pass on to the parents of these children. Parents that have gotten these boxes have said, you know, I was so surprised when my provider gave us a free big red safety kit at our last visit. My son with autism is so fast, he was able to run away from his mom. I was able to get him an ID bracelet, so in this box is a
00:07:37
Speaker
ID bracelet from Rode ID, as well as they have some door alarms for their house. They have a lot, they have a big, what is it called, stop signs. Awesome. Visuals are very important for individuals with autism.
00:07:52
Speaker
They also have a very important thing, just kind of an emergency kind of wandering kit, so ways to connect with your local law enforcement just to have an action plan because over, like Rafe said, there are all these different difficulties that individuals with autism have. 50% of individuals with autism end up wandering, can get lost.
00:08:10
Speaker
You've seen that in the news. Individuals kind of wandering and get lost. Tragedies have happened. So this big red safety box is something that really hits home for our families. They really appreciate it. I know that one family that I gave this box to, the mom was sleeping in front of her child's bedroom door so that her child wouldn't bolt out of the room at nighttime. So having this box, having the safety band,
00:08:33
Speaker
having the door alarms really, really, really helpful for them. So again, all the proceeds for today are going to purchasing these boxes for our families so we can just give them to them so they don't have to worry about something else that they have to buy. So thank you so much. Thank you. I'm not sure where Jeremiah went to. Jeremiah. Oh, Ascot demonstration. Yes, that was next. Do it.
00:09:01
Speaker
How's it going? My name is Tim Foss. I don't think I'm supposed to be holding this microphone. I will warn you, I'm not gonna pretend it's not silly that I'm gonna teach you how to tie an Ascot after they talked about something as important as childhood autism. Because let's be real, that's super silly. Before we really get started in a demonstration of how to wear these things,
00:09:27
Speaker
I'm going to talk to you a little bit about what they are. They are a precursor to the regular necktie that some of us might wear every once in a while, like when someone dies or someone gets married. They are a neck scarf. They have pleats on one side. They're big and fat. And you want to wear them so that the pleats go around the back of your neck like this.
00:09:57
Speaker
I'm gonna unbutton my shirt a little bit extra to make it easier to tuck it in later. And specifically for Kyle. Today I'm gonna show you three different ways to tie one. There are a lot of different ways to tie an ascot. Like there are a lot of different ways to win a championship. The first one is the easiest. It's probably like scoring a ton of goals.
00:10:27
Speaker
The two ends are gonna be even. It's gonna be real simple. I hope you can follow. One end is going to go over the other, around it, and over. You're gonna adjust to make sure that you got things centered. You're gonna tuck it into your shirt. And then throughout the rest of the day, you're gonna fuss with it because it's gonna come undone.
00:10:55
Speaker
It'll hold a little bit, that's what the pleats are for. You can pop it out and adjust it however much you want. But at that point, you're pretty much done. This next way is a little bit more involved. Again, you're gonna start with it around your neck, because that's where you're gonna wear it. But you're gonna make one end three to four inches longer than the other. That longer end, you're gonna wrap around the short end
00:11:27
Speaker
once and then twice. And you're going to bring it up through the back, through the loop that you've made around your neck. Just for you, Kyle. You're going to pull it up through. You're going to adjust it a little bit. It's going to hold pretty well because you've mostly made a knot. You're going to tuck it into your shirt.
00:11:55
Speaker
And then you're probably going to be done with it until you or someone else takes it off. The third way is going to be the most complicated, but it's going to have the strongest hold. It's going to be the most difficult to undo. You're going to want to be careful undoing it so you don't ruin your ascot. Again, you're going to start with it three to four inches longer on one end than the other. You're going to take the long end. And if you wear a tie on a regular basis, you're going to tie a four in hand knot.
00:12:25
Speaker
It's my personal favorite knot, it's really easy to do, and it looks good. Again, you're gonna come around once. One and a half times, you're going to come up through the back, if I ever get that done. And then down through the knot you've made, like you were tying a regular tie.
00:12:55
Speaker
It's gonna be a little bit short, so you're gonna pull the back end up through and over, and then you're gonna tuck that all in. The benefit to that is it gives you a little bit more structure so that naturally the tie is going to hold itself up a little bit better, gives you a little bit more pop as it sticks out of your collar.
00:13:21
Speaker
And now you, just like Thurston Howell III, are ready to be trapped on an island with a bunch of dummies. That's it. That's how you wear an ascot. Thank you, guys. I think Tim has done that before. That was very impressive. So I think the next thing we got going is the Christian Roldan interview.

Christian Roldan's Soccer Journey

00:13:48
Speaker
And I will go ahead and let me take it away.
00:13:55
Speaker
Oh, hello there. Jeremiah O'Shan, Christian Roldan. We are here for Nosadietes YotCon. Thank you so much for joining us. Hoping you're already having a good time. Christian, welcome to the show.
00:14:10
Speaker
Appreciate you doing this. No, thank you. It's my pleasure. So you've had quite a couple years here with the sounders, obviously drafted before the start of two years ago, got your feet wet. And then last year kind of really came into your own. What was, is it felt fast? Has it felt like a rapid ride for you or what's this felt like?
00:14:35
Speaker
I think last year specifically it was a quick transition where I went from being a sub into being a starter and finishing off the year with MLS Cup. I think that happened very, very quick. The transition was very fast.
00:14:52
Speaker
I think with the coaching change, everything going on, it just happened all of a sudden. And I wouldn't ask for it in any other way. And I'm just happy, happy to be in Seattle and happy to bring back an MLS Cup. Yeah, it seems like you've enjoyed the ride. It seems like you've done this all with a big smile on your face.
00:15:12
Speaker
And one of the aspects of that is it seems to me from the outside that your friendship with Jordan this last year got a lot of publicity. You guys have had a lot of fun with that. But did that help a little bit to have someone that was like a best friend on your team?
00:15:30
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, it makes things. It's a long season. It's a very long season and you want to have good buddies on your team. Obviously, my first year I did. I definitely did. Gonzalo, but they were a little bit more older. You know, Gonzalo, Ozzy, all those guys, Marco Papa.
00:15:48
Speaker
And then this year, I feel like with Tyler coming in as well, Jordan, especially, we just became good friends all of a sudden. I think we were in the same position, somewhat of the same position. And I think we were able to grow together and I think it definitely helped both of us in the long run.
00:16:06
Speaker
And so how did that, I mean, it seemed like all of a sudden, you know, from the outside looking in, I'm sure it didn't happen this way in reality, but from the outside looking in, it was like, all of a sudden it was like, oh my God, these guys are like best friends. How long have they known each other? But you maybe you knew of each other, but you couldn't have known each other before camp started. I said hi to him a couple of times in college. You know, I just said good game kind of. Right.
00:16:30
Speaker
Actually, I probably knew his mom more than anything. I mean, I just said hello to her and had more of a conversation with her than Jordan. And then season started. Actually, the first day he got there.
00:16:44
Speaker
he was kind of upset that I didn't sit next to him. I was like, he's like, I didn't know anybody on the team and I expected you to be by my side. But now he's a good guy and he's a pleasure to have in the locker room for sure.
00:17:00
Speaker
So, has it become a little much for you, kind of the way that people like myself, people in the media have kind of played up the friendship? Or, I mean, I don't know, do you feel like the need to assert, like, oh, I'm my own guy here, too? Is this whole interview going to be about Jordan? I mean, rightfully so. That's fair. That's a fair point. Rightfully so, right? Yeah.
00:17:29
Speaker
No, yeah, I would say, you know, we both grew together and just having him around has definitely made me my own person too, but we enjoy all the publicity. I mean, it's fine as long as it doesn't affect our game, to be honest. Okay, so last one on that. What do you think of the nickname, Joristan Morton?
00:17:53
Speaker
I think it's hilarious. I didn't know how to pronounce it at first. I think that's what we're going with. We tried like 10, 15 times and it never went right. But no, I think it's awesome. And I think the two-pull, the several two-pulls that are out now and are incredible. I don't know how Bread does it. Shout out to Bread. Shout out to Bread. She's an amazing person.
00:18:21
Speaker
Yeah, absolutely. So you, taking it back a little bit, the way you kind of came onto the national scene, assuming we ignore the commercial, but the way you kind of came into the national scene was the Gatorade Player of the Year, Alexei Wallace actually surprised you at school, right, to present that to you. But kind of one of the aspects of that that I think is somewhat interesting is that that always goes to like a prep player as opposed to like a club player.
00:18:48
Speaker
And it seemed like you kind of have made your way up the food chain in professional soccer in a way that a lot of players don't. I mean, you played prep soccer, you weren't at big clubs, you were lightly recruited, ended up at UW, which obviously worked out okay for you, but then even kind of with some attention at UW, you end up dropping to the Sounders at 15 in the draft.
00:19:13
Speaker
And it seems like the story of a player who has a chip on his shoulder, or who maybe should have a chip on his shoulder, but you've never played that way. You've never kind of come off as, well, I got to prove everyone wrong. I mean, how would you describe your mentality going through all that?
00:19:28
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, everybody has their own story. I think mine is unique in the sense where, you know, I was nine years old. I ended up making an Adidas commercial when I was nine. Got this Gatorade award and seemed like everything was going my way. And then all of a sudden I felt like I had
00:19:48
Speaker
I was going to stop playing soccer right then and there, right after I got that award. I was applying for colleges where I was just going to go to school and I was lucky enough to... You were really considering not playing in college. Well, I didn't have any scholarship offers or any walk-on offers until really January of my senior year.
00:20:14
Speaker
After, by then I was already applied to eight schools just for school and you know UW and Cal State Bakersfield gave me chances and you know I can't thank them enough and you know Jamie and their staff but UW really took a chance and I would just wanted to make the most of the opportunities that are given to me and I think you know coming from my family
00:20:39
Speaker
where they really had nothing growing up and coming to the United States as immigrants, I think speaks volumes and speaks to my mindset going forward.
00:20:50
Speaker
Yeah, you know, a lot of, I would think that as a Southern California boy, you spent your whole life in Southern California before you moved up here. And I think at least you strike me as someone who's very comfortable in Pacific Northwest. How has that transition been and do you now consider yourself kind of a Seattle guy or a Pacific Northwest?
00:21:10
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, I said it many times. I think this is my second home, if not first, honestly. You know, my mom gives me a bunch of crap because she says that I'm never going to come back to California and she misses me and I just tell her it's your time to move up. That's what I tell my parents. Yeah, so I mean, I like Seattle. I like the Pacific Northwest.
00:21:34
Speaker
And I think the city has been great to me. I think I've been received with open arms and definitely the fans from the sounders have done that for me and I can't thank them enough. All right, so I wanted to end the interview with a few questions that are a little lighter, a little more playful, and don't feel like you need to go overboard in answering any of these.
00:22:01
Speaker
You can have fun with it. So one of the first questions I had, and this was my wife actually is a native Spanish speaker as well, and so she suggested this question. What language do you most often dream in? Dream. English. English, yeah. I don't think I've...
00:22:17
Speaker
I've dreamt in Spanish. Yeah, I don't think so. Really? Yeah, I think English is the... I think it's because I speak English a lot more. So much more. Yeah. Because I'm not at home. Right. Yeah. But even when you were a kid, you didn't dream in Spanish? No. For some reason, no. How funny. But that is a good question. I need to start paying attention. You need to start dreaming in Spanish.
00:22:39
Speaker
So one of the iconic images of the Sounders winning MLS Cup was you conducting a post-victory interview with a piece of pizza. How satisfying was that pizza in that locker room? That was pretty good. I'm going to be honest with you. It was exactly what I wanted after 120 minutes and after MLS Cup. It's kind of just as good as this one right now.
00:23:10
Speaker
So, 120 mints. You didn't get taken a PK. Did you want to? Yeah, Schmetzer actually told me that I was number seven a couple of days ago and I was ready for it. But I'm glad Ramon scored it because I was kind of nervous about that. So we're going to end it on this note. I got to imagine you have at least one good Brian Schmetzer story.
00:23:38
Speaker
Yes, I do actually. And it was the first day back from the combine, from the draft. He asked me to come into his office and he basically
00:23:51
Speaker
ripped me a new one and said, if I see what I saw at the combine, you're going to not play on this team. And I said, OK, sir, I got your message. I went back to the car and I said, oh, is this going to be like each and every day? And then things lightened up and things worked out.
00:24:12
Speaker
So Brian could be a hard-ass when he wants to. Oh, when he wants to, yeah, for sure.

Frank McDonald's Teaser

00:24:15
Speaker
Well, this is Jeremiah O'Shan, here with Christian Roldan. Thank you so much for doing this. This is the Yacht-Con 2, the Yacht-Con 2, at Cafe Sienna. And we're going to send it back to you, Jeremiah. Thanks, Jeremiah.
00:24:36
Speaker
I would love to think that was for me, but I think that was probably for Christian. So thanks, Christian, for doing that.
00:24:52
Speaker
So we have two more segments coming up. We have Frank McDonald's going to come here and talk about Washington Legends. But we also had, I also wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that we got two more additions to the raffle, which will go into the big raffle at the end. Stephen Fry donated a pair of his gloves from preseason and he signed them. And then we have a Washington Legends soccer ball that was signed by Washington soccer legend, Chris Henderson.
00:25:27
Speaker
And one quick reminder, we are going to do a little, hopefully you guys are familiar with No Sadietes, but Aaron and Likert are going to, the three of us are going to do our question and answer session that has become a real staple of our podcast.
00:25:43
Speaker
So we're going to have Frank come up and do that. And then we're going to pull the raffle prizes while we're doing the question and answer. And then we're going to finish up with the sounders panel. So if you want to get in on the raffle, we're still selling tickets. And you have maybe five more minutes to do that. So here we go. Hello.
00:26:12
Speaker
Hi, Frank McDonald's, my name, you might know me as the guy who... Thank you, thank you very much. You might know me as the guy who posts old photos on Thursdays and born in 74 themed stuff throughout the year, particularly this last week. I'm here today not as a Sounder at Heart contributor, although that is very fulfilling for me and I hope you guys enjoy it.
00:26:41
Speaker
It's very lucrative. I'm signing.
00:26:45
Speaker
signing away copies all the time on the screen.

Soccer History Organization Intro

00:26:49
Speaker
Now, today I'm here on behalf of the Washington State Legends of Soccer. It's a new organization. It's an organization that is made up of right now a board of 12 very influential people that are part of our soccer community. You'd recognize a lot of their names.
00:27:12
Speaker
We'll have a quiz later if you'd like and you could ask me who were those 12 people and I'll try to recall their names. But what I, I'm here today because we have an event coming up and I'm gonna tell you a little bit about that. But first I'm gonna tell you a little bit about legends because we've just filed with the state and we're now an official nonprofit organization. But I wanted to tell you what we're, oh shoot, need the glasses.
00:27:39
Speaker
It happens especially, yeah, right after you acquire your second ascot in life. So the legends are focused on recovering our games history in this great state of soccer, which is Washington. We're the only organization of our kind in the nation, but that's fitting because we're the only soccer community of our kind in the nation.
00:28:08
Speaker
So what we're doing is curating and making that history inviting, appetizing, and accessible to people, celebrating our history in a number of ways, and perhaps most importantly, renewing that history. Because the reason our soccer community is so strong, so vibrant, is because others invested years ago in developing this community. They did it by volunteering with youth,
00:28:33
Speaker
playing the game, or inviting others to join in the fan experience, which I'm sure most of you have experienced. So quite simply, it's about people who love this game showing the rest of the community how they love this game. Now, about our event, which I think a lot of you would be interested in attending, it is on Tuesday night, February 28th. The legends will be presenting Brian Schmetzer, This Is Your Life.
00:29:05
Speaker
Now, not to confuse this, this is not a eulogy for Brian by any means. If anything, it's a kickoff event. So it will be a night with Schmetz and some of the people who've traveled with him on this path to becoming the Sounders FC head coach. And of course, winner of MLS Cup 2016.
00:29:29
Speaker
So I can't announce the guest speakers in advance because it's supposed to be a surprise to Brian at night. But you can probably connect the dots. And I can tell you there not only will be one Mr. Sounder, there will be multiple Mr. Sounders there that night.
00:29:49
Speaker
So, our Brian Schmetzer, This Is Your Life, will be at the Market Arms in Ballard. The doors will open, well, the doors are open until noon, or beginning at noon, but you might want to get there by six, because seating is first come, first serve. The program begins at seven. There's no admission charge. There will be an ask for donations. There will be a raffle if you sign up ahead via brown paper tickets.
00:30:16
Speaker
Until February 28th, I invite you all to like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, and circle Feb 28th on your calendar. So thank you, and go Sanders.
00:30:36
Speaker
All right, so we're getting to the actual Nos Adietes part of the show. And hopefully, if you wanted to ask questions, we really want to encourage people to send them into our Twitter.

Q&A Preparation

00:30:49
Speaker
We'll read them live. We're at Nos Adietes.
00:30:52
Speaker
N-O-S-A-U-D-I-E-T-I-S, in case you're wondering. And if you want to add the AskYachtCon hashtag, that probably helps us sort through the unbelievable number of mentions we have. I'm not sure that we need that.
00:31:09
Speaker
One to bring up and before actually before I bring them on I really wanted to say thanks to James Willard who we didn't mention by name but he was on the video but James Willard saying if you didn't notice he was the singer on that intro video and It really brought it all together. So I
00:31:28
Speaker
If you don't recognize that name, he's the voice of the, the in-stadium voice at CenturyLink Field for Sounders Games, and he has been really great at helping us out. And anyway, I wanted to bring up Aaron Campo and Lickett, and hopefully Lickett's gonna come over here. I'm Jeremiah. Yeah, just sit down. Or we can, I don't know, do you want to sit or stand?
00:31:58
Speaker
Which mic? Which one? Oh. All right. Is this working? No.
00:32:26
Speaker
Is this, oh, it is working. Hi, how about this one? Hi. All right, so I guess we'll do the raffle as well. So I guess I should ask someone to bring up the raffle bags and whatever else they're in. But do we have a question to start, Lickett? Here, you wanna take a mic? Here. Are we doing the ones on the screen first?
00:33:01
Speaker
Thank you.

I guess I should come up with some way to fill this time, shouldn't I? Oh, no. Saved. Here we go. You guys ready? Yeah. Yeah. OK. Oh, here. No, no, no. We'll go over there. This is very organized, by the way. Yes. Eric Teets asks, what one or two other Western Conference teams do you think had a very strong off season?
00:33:48
Speaker
Man, you know, it's funny is like a month ago. I was looking at what the galaxy were looking like and I thought this is a mess But the galaxy of course have have now kind of put together a pretty solid offseason I hate to admit it, but it seems like the Timbers have actually put together a pretty good offseason to LAFC though had the best offseason, right?
00:34:19
Speaker
No, that's the best. Use the mic. They're not working. Oh. Oh. OK. AtIrishSounder asks, if a tree falls on the woods and only Chris Neroldan hears it, does Jordan Morris hear it too? I think that's rhetorical. All about Jordan.
00:34:46
Speaker
SmashlyFC, of the three hosts, who is the most likely to replicate the Fry Save? Me. Yeah, let's look at it. At Podfish asks, who is faster, Samio Cho or Nate Bowling?
00:35:11
Speaker
That doesn't seem like a very nice question. Jeez, roastin' poor Sammy here. Trivialx asks, did Lickitpee get his MLS cup photo taken with Matt Oak's buttocks? The answer is never, never.
00:35:38
Speaker
Drone637 asks, have you seen the size of these pretzels? They're large. They're very large. Yeah. Pretzels? They're huge. There's the size of a head. I know. Share those things. Get comfortable to the someone that has one.
00:35:58
Speaker
I don't know if we're going to have the ones on the screen yet, so I'll just start reading them. MLS Watercolors asks, do any players have cats yet? Do you have any players have cats yet? I don't know. That would have been probably a good question. We might have to hold that question, bring it back for the sounders panel, because I don't have the insight necessary to know if any players have cats. Seems like mostly dogs. Yeah, lots of dog owners in that group.
00:36:25
Speaker
Unrelated, Emily Cummings asks, what is the best original NES game, and why is it Super Mario Bros. 3? Yeah, I mean, Super NES? Oh, regular NES. I mean, I was a big fan of Contra. I thought Contra was a good one. Better than Super Mario 3? I didn't play that much Super Mario 3, I have to admit.
00:36:55
Speaker
I think Super Mario 1 is better, actually. Oh, it's a hot take. It is. It is. So I think we are calling a last call on the raffle. I think we have bought enough time. Hopefully. I think so. I think so. Woo. Was that fun? Was that anything entertaining that we just said?
00:37:23
Speaker
All right, so I think we're gonna start the raffle. Hopefully you got your tickets in there. Reminder, we have a bunch of autographed items. And I think everything, so we, I'll just go over this. If you win the yacht cruise, coordinate with me and Mark Nesteroff. We actually don't have the yacht ready to take you right now.
00:37:53
Speaker
If you win the coffee table, also come coordinate with me, and I'm told we can get it delivered to you. That was something that was custom made by Designers Marble, who's another one of the Nosarietes sponsors.
00:38:07
Speaker
And the D'Andre Yedlin signed jersey is an IOU of sorts. So I don't want you expecting to walk out with that thing. But I promise we will get it to you. D'Andre's uncle was nice enough to promise to supply that. So we can start doing the drawing.

Raffle Prizes Announcement

00:38:33
Speaker
Okay, so we'll go ahead and start with the boots that were donated by Steve Zakawany. I think they appear to have been used, so that's pretty cool. I can't tell you when they were used, but that's pretty good. So how are we going to do this? We'll dump them out. No, no, no. Grab one, and we'll dump them all into a general file. I know, but oh, okay. Here, just dig in there.
00:39:03
Speaker
We gotta mix them up. Is there a bucket that we can get? Oh, a beer mug. Okay, let's get a beer mug. Get a beer mug. Oh, the cup. The cup. Is that, Kelly, is that okay to use? Yeah, okay.
00:39:44
Speaker
This just got significantly more surreal. Yeah, so maybe we'll go out in front there. That is a beautiful trophy, isn't it?
00:40:01
Speaker
And this is the closest I've ever been. This is my first touch of it. So go ahead and dump those in, I guess, right? And then we can, yeah, that makes sense. All right. All right, so this is for the Steve Zakawani boots. The ticket is 314-7367. 314-7367.
00:40:35
Speaker
What? You're saying get out of the way of the cup? Is that what you're saying? So then we probably dump these out. Yeah, but we don't want to get them mixed up.
00:41:01
Speaker
This is a really, we really thought this through really well. Yeah. Okay, so did we get the winner? Oh yeah, put them all in this bag, that's a good idea. God, yeah, look at that. All right. Okay, these are Steve Zakawany boots. This is the, this was supplied by the Sounders, it's an Olympic white
00:41:35
Speaker
But it has Eric Freiburg's signature on it. All right. It is 308-8374. 308-8374.
00:42:06
Speaker
Should I read it one more time? Oh, we got it. Okay.
00:42:26
Speaker
I'm glad we're keeping with the spirit of the way the show works. Right, I know. If you've ever... God, I really hope you guys are all listening to the show. But if you listen to the show, you know this is basically how it works. We're like... Every show, we're figuring it out. Like, how do we do this? We've never done this before. All right, we clean? All right, so this is the Alexi Lawless experience poster.
00:42:50
Speaker
Alexei dug this out of his personal collection and signed it and sent it to us, especially for this event. So thank you to Alexei. He really wanted to be here, but he was afraid that someone would punch him, I heard. But I will be sending him an Ascot. All right. 624937. 624937.
00:43:20
Speaker
And we have a winner. Congratulations. Awesome. Yeah, I guess just take this and for the election laws. Yeah, we have that. It's in the poster too. We haven't done it yet.
00:43:57
Speaker
So this is for the coffee table from Designers Marble. It's a nice coffee table. Wow. People wanted a coffee table. That's great. All right.
00:44:21
Speaker
308-8287. Do we have one? Do we get it? Jacob? And Jacob Lamsburg, he's a contributor to Senator Hart. I guess he's eligible. No, he is. I'm just joking. You're definitely eligible. Oh, yeah. Here. No. Yeah, come here.
00:44:50
Speaker
Just give me the, yeah, cool. Here, no, take this. All right. Okay.
00:45:06
Speaker
All right, what do we got here? This is the custom poster by MLS Watercolor. Emily Cummings donated that. And Adrian Hanauer, who you may know, has a little something to do with a framing company. And he agreed to get it framed for us. So that's another one that is the poster you'll have, but we'll have to coordinate with you to get it framed.
00:45:35
Speaker
It has a silvery, gorgeous smell to it, this cup does. Like it's been drank out of. 3-1-4-7-3-6-0. 3-1-4-7-3-6-0. Hey!
00:46:20
Speaker
All right, what do we got next? Oh, she donated more than one. Well, doing the general. Okay. Well, the other ones aren't going to be framed.
00:46:38
Speaker
Okay, so this is the signed DeAndre Yedlin jersey. It'll probably be a Newcastle jersey. Hopefully that's acceptable. I know, that would be such a hard life. All right, this is ticket 624-037. 624-037.
00:47:11
Speaker
And is that all the... Yeah, so write down their information. All right, so let's get them all back in there, I guess. So now we're gonna just start going through, what do we got left? We got two more posters. We have... God, we got a lot of stuff.
00:47:36
Speaker
We have the Stephen Fry gloves. We have the Washington Legends ball signed by Chris Henderson. And we have the yacht cruise. And I think we have some, we'll have some other stuff too. So, did you guys have a good time today?
00:48:01
Speaker
You guys ready for the finale with the players and Garth and Chris and everyone else? That's a milka toast. Cheer, my god, guys. Come on. Are you guys ready? Yeah! This is a good venue, right? Nice day. I'm glad we got some sun shining in here. Almost.
00:48:31
Speaker
My stalling tactics are grade A stuff here. Oh, some late additions. Oh, look at that. What time is it?
00:48:58
Speaker
Hey, we're actually running pretty close on time. I'm shocked by this. I know. You should know that any time we record a podcast, it takes us like three times as long as we're scheduling for. Okay, so we'll start off with a poster. It's not gonna be framed though. The first one.
00:49:25
Speaker
624-319. It's a customized poster. 624-319. Yeah. Great.
00:49:47
Speaker
And I'm told that there is still a few pieces of merchandise left if you are so inclined to buy such a thing. Here's another poster. 624-754. I did mix it up. 624-754.
00:50:15
Speaker
The ball. All right, so we're gonna do the Washington State Soccer Legends ball signed by Chris Henderson next. Here, you can confirm it. That's, no, no, no, that's for that one. Is mixing enough? Is everyone satisfied that this is being mixed sufficiently? 308-8366. 308-8366.
00:50:49
Speaker
Do we have a winner? 3-0-8. 8-3-6-6. Oh, I'll do a 3-2-1. Oh, we got it. I know. 3-0-8-8-3-6-6.
00:51:20
Speaker
Okay? I guess I didn't mix it enough and someone won twice, did I?
00:51:30
Speaker
Oh, that's right. All right, so this one is gonna be the Likit Scarf Pack, and it includes the most recent version of the Heritage Scarf, the original version of the Heritage Scarf, and the Sounder at Heart Scarf. Which one was it? It was the, Enemy's Gate is Down. All right, three, one, four, seven, two, eight, one.
00:51:59
Speaker
three, one, four, seven, two, eight, one. We have two more of these that will get you. Great. Yeah, okay, so this one is a, how much of this is gift certificate, Marnie? For Flywool.
00:52:27
Speaker
Okay, so this is a five-class pack from Flywheel, which is a cycling gym. It is downtown. My sister works there, and she got it for us, so thank you for that. Keep you healthy. All right. 624-105. 624-105.
00:52:55
Speaker
6, 2, 4, 1, 0, 5. Going once. Up. And then $50 Polyachi. And this one, and then we have two more. We have the Stephen Fry Gloves and the Yacht Cruise. This is a $50 gift certificate to Polyachi Pizza.
00:53:24
Speaker
Or as some of you probably say, pegliace pizza? I don't know. People say it that way. I hear it. I hear it. People say, all right, 3088355. 3088355. 3088355.
00:53:57
Speaker
Do they have Polyachi and Tacoma? All right. So these are the Stephen Fry goalkeeper gloves and then that's okay. Lots of mixing, lots of mixing. Oh,
00:54:27
Speaker
308-8379. 308-8379. 308-8379. All right, going once. Oh, we got it.
00:54:56
Speaker
I see. Wow. Okay, good. That's what happens, I guess. All right, so.
00:55:08
Speaker
Now we got the Mark Nesteroff yacht cruise, which I can attest, I did last

Yacht Cruise Highlight

00:55:13
Speaker
year. We went around Lake Union and his parents are really pleasant and they made us breakfast. And it was a glorious day. Can you guarantee the weather, Mark? Okay. He says he's guaranteeing good weather. All right.
00:55:37
Speaker
3, 1, 4, 7, 3, 2, 5. All right. So just coordinate with my.
00:55:59
Speaker
Yeah. All right. So that's it. That's it, right? All right. Well, thank you, everyone. And so obviously we have the last panel of the day. Sounders, sporting director, Chris Henderson, MLS Cup MVP, Stephen Fry.
00:56:20
Speaker
and Sounders GM and President of Soccer, which has got to be the simplest. Oh, you're right. We got one more prize. One more prize. James Woolard is going to do an outgoing voicemail for you. All right. That is 624058.
00:56:55
Speaker
We'll obviously have to coordinate with you on this one, too. All right, so. I think we're ready now. Is that it? Again. Green, Douglas, where were the waters cut through? Down to wild mountains and canyons you flew. Vanading northwest to the ocean so blue, it's roll on, philosophy roll on.
00:57:19
Speaker
Roll on, Columbia Roll on. Roll on, Columbia Roll on. Your power is turning our darkness to dawn. Roll on, Columbia Roll on.
