Speaker: This is Skipper Albert A. Wall, the voice of the jungle, broadcasting on the DVC to all points unknown. If you're within the sound of my voice, you're listening to Welcome Home Podcast on the DVC.
Speaker: Hello and welcome to the Welcome Home Waitlist. ah I'm Tom and this is ah Trevor with me here. For those that don't know, that listen to us all the time, we've done a waitlist in a while, Trevor, probably, right? yeah I think timing-wise it's worked out pretty good that we haven't had to do a lot of waitlists. That's true. Because the reason for doing the waitlist is just when we're not available to do a regular show. And and the reason for this waitlist is, you know, Tom tom is traveling, as we've talked about previously. so So this is to fill in for the week that we're gone. So so ah so you can still hear our voices. Yeah. and And the format of this is not our normal rundown that we do where we kind of talk about news and stuff like that. This is more of a...
Speaker: um I guess us trying to do pseudo-imagineering of sorts or... or Armchair imaginary is... Yeah, armchair imaginary, yeah. so um So, yeah we yeah, we decided on a topic and I need to do a shout out to Ali in the Discord because this was actually one of her ideas.
Speaker: um Yeah, I love this idea. Yeah. We might we might have even done something like this before, but I don't even care. I think we might have, but yeah, i I think it's actually good to talk about because of the fact that there has been a lot of changes to DVC resorts over the time. over time um So Ali suggested that we, yeah so design DVC start by taking the best from other resorts. so Yeah. Okay.
Speaker: I'm calling this ah Franken Resort. Franken Resort, Yeah. As in Frankenstein, you know, was put together. Frankenstein's monster, I should say. I know people get weird about that. um ah yeah So it was put together with various different parts. Right. And so that's what we're doing here. We're making a resort that is ah take it with the where we take our favorite things about other resorts and put that into one resort.
Speaker: Right. Yeah. Yeah. All right. So I think we agreed on we we're going to try and put it into, I guess, some categories, five yeah ish categories. Again, we you know, this's yeah this is not slowly like, yeah, yeah. that we We are not like highly structuring this. This is just us kind of, you know,
Speaker: Inventing stuff as we go. But I think what we kind of agreed on was we were going to go with, you know, a location of the resort was going to be a talking point. ah Lobby and room themes were, um yeah, we're going to talk about. So, so, you know, you know, obviously, you know, theming is important.
Speaker: um Pool and then amenities of the resort. And then I think we also want to talk about transportation options to and from the resort. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Which I think is a big thing these days. I mean, honestly, that's a big decider for a lot of things. It Honestly, yeah. I think transportation, it's not overlooked, but it's definitely not always what people are considering. Like, getting to and from the resort does matter, for sure. But why don't we start by talking about location?
Speaker: Because... Yeah. Or... I have some thoughts on this, but I'll let you go first. If if you have a... Particular resort and where you would like to see it located. So since we're going by existing resorts and we're not creating new locations, right? Yeah. Because i if we're creating new locations, I would say the front of Epcot where Living Seas is. Yeah. But we're not doing that. We're doing from other resorts. So in the same vein, I'm going to take ah the boardwalk location as my as my ah my location.
Speaker: Okay. um I realize we didn't clarify this ahead of time. Are we only talking Disney World? Yeah, that's that's ah that's a good question.
Speaker: feel like you kind of have to keep it to Disney World. No, I mean, and you can do Disneyland if you want. Yeah, okay, because because that does affect my answer. Yeah, you could do it's up to you. If you want to do Disneyland, yeah, do Disneyland. Okay, so so my pick would be the Grand Californian location because it's that that is a very prime location. Similar pick to mine in yeah because of the way you can get into the park. But yours is even is in the park essentially. it is I mean, yeah, it has it has that direct gate into California Adventure, which is, i think i think anywhere, like, you know you know, all the resorts having, like, good accessibility to the parks is great, but there, the and I've said this multiple times, there is something extra magical about literally, like,
Speaker: You know, you're walking by the quick service and you turn a corner and you're like, oh, I'm going into the park. Like, yeah like that that to me, like that kind of location, I think is i wish I wish there was a resort like that. i guess, I mean, Bay Lake Tower, I guess if I was going to keep it to to to Disney World, I would say Bay Lake Tower would be the same vibe. Yeah.
Speaker: As close as you can get to being in the park without being the I guess, you know what? Okay, I'm going to change my answer then to Bay Lake Tower. Okay. Just so we can keep it within Disney World. Okay, that's fine. yeah Yeah. All right, so we got that. So location, we we're both looking for locations that are adjacent to the park, close to you know close to getting in, ah you know easy access, which you know I feel like they need to do more of. There's very few of that a few of those going around. you know I get it's hard, though, right? like it's Yeah, operationally, it's a little more challenging. yeah yeah Yeah, I understand why. But at the same time, it it is cool right to yeah do that. Yeah.
Speaker: All right. so what you want to talk about theme now, what, what theme are we going to steal from a different hotel? Okay. Hmm. This is okay i I feel like the rules around theme, we we have to allow it to expand beyond just the Walt Disney world, um, resorts because. Yeah, absolutely. You can use any theme of any park around the world. Okay.
Speaker: Um, yeah. I kind of want to go with um the resort that is at Tokyo DisneySea. Ooh. Because... So it it has a very... um Hold on. let me Let me bring it up. Yeah. Which which which one is it?
Speaker: I need... I should have actually looked up the name ahead of time, but... No, it's more fun to wing it. Yeah. All right. is...
Speaker: Where's the hotel? No, not resort hotel.
Speaker: ah you're talking the Mira Costa is. Oh, okay. Okay. So, so the, the Mira Costa has, so it has a very interesting theme to it.
Speaker: yeah. that Like, it's almost Europe, or I guess it's European. I'm i'm ahm honestly not sure what it is, but it's very yeah it's very unique to me.
Speaker: Like, I can't think of another Disney resort that I can quite equate this to. like Because, it's like a lot you know, like Wilderness Lodge versus Grand California. It's like, you can be like, oh, yeah, you know, these are similar resorts.
Speaker: This one, i guess it's maybe, no, it's not even like Riviera. It's like... it's so unique. Like... Yeah. and And again, you know, it's also fitting with, you know you know, in terms of, you know, location wise, obviously it's it's the same kind of hotel where it it has direct access to the park. But, you know, if you if you look up the ah the pictures of it, um it's just, it's got a very, um like it's very nautical almost.
Speaker: um or It feels like a like a seaside town of some sort. Okay. But... um Yeah. Oh, yeah. There's... Yeah, the the theming in this place is fantastic. this This would be my choice for a resort if I could, like...
Speaker: Just drop it somewhere into Walt Disney World. Okay. Okay. I like that. All right. What do you got? Okay. So I'm going to go ah i'm going to go a little little off the map here as well.
Speaker: with ah I'm going to go with the Disney Hotel New York, ah The Art of Marvel at Disneyland Paris. So have you seen this resort?
Speaker: Okay, so here's the thing. Let me look this up. Okay, my my favorite theming in in all of Disney World, and probably all Disney total, is Animal Kingdom Lodge. I love Animal Kingdom, right? Yeah, fair. But Animal Kingdom Lodge does not fit outside of Epcot. It just doesn't.
Speaker: Right? Like, that doesn't make sense with Epcot. So, when I'm looking at what is kind of feel like future-y, but also like a little worldly and and also incorporates IP that I really like, going with the Marvel Hotel from Disneyland Paris.
Speaker: All right. It's very modern. it's very It's very, you know, it's very upscale. It just makes me feel, you know, if I'm going to replace the boardwalk, because truthfully, I would just keep the boardwalk, but then I've answered two things as boardwalk and I can't really do that. Yeah. No, i know I get what you're saying is that this almost brings it in line with like it's almost – I'm looking at the room types and everything. Yeah. It reminds me of the contemporary, but it's more Marvel-themed. Yeah, more Marvel-y, right? There's some Marvel in there and then – you know yeah Yeah. Actually, yeah this ah this is a very cool design. I've not i've not looked at. I've been too obsessed with the with the Tokyo Disney Resort. I haven't looked at this one a lot. And yeah, you're right. this is it's This is very cool. It's looky very cool. like yeah i think it's a very cool. it's It's not like on the outside. It's not like anything special really, right? It kind of just looks like...
Speaker: you know, a hotel, right? But I feel like for outside of Epcot, i kind that's kind of what I need, right? Like, the the Boardwalk is a very unique area, right? Like, but I'm i'm okay with it looking modern-y, you know? You you need the unassuming hotel.
Speaker: Yeah. yeah guess thing I agree with you that, um you know you know, the hotels at Disney, like, the outside are meant to be very, like, they're very distinct and whatnot, but I feel like right outside of a, or, you know, somewhere like boardwalk, it's like, you know, you walk by boardwalk and if you didn't know what it was, you're kind of like, oh, that's interesting. This would be another level of that.
Speaker: Yeah. Where it's like, you're like, oh, yeah you know, it's just, it's a hotel. But yeah, when you get inside, you're kind of blown away by it. Just, just to be clear though, by the way, I'm using the location of boardwalk. So in this scenario,
Speaker: that whole lake and and beach club, all that, none of that exists in this scenario, right? That's what I'm saying is, like, imagine just, like, oh, that's just, like, a hotel, and you're just kind of like, okay, whatever. Yes. yeah But when you get into it, like, yeah, this lobby and everything, a whole wow, it's something sure. I just feel like it fits more in kind of, like, the Epcot vibe of, like, the future, but also, like, you know, it's it's just, it's, like, classy looking, you know? I don't know how to describe it. I think people understand what I'm saying, but... Modern, modern slightly high-end. Like, it's not over-the-top high-end, but it it definitely looks like a high-end hotel.
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah, that's and I like the idea of having the Marvel stuff in there, right? So, like, I know there's no Marvel at Epcot. But, you know, the, the, the scene, just like the, that, that very upscale kind of, uh, you know, stylish, you know, they're calling it a contemporary New York style. That's kind of what I'm thinking, right?
Speaker: That kind of like style where it's, it does have some overtly Marvel stuff, but it also is like, it's just classy looking. It's like the contemporary, but newer. I like that because also, like you said, it's it's bringing like another element of like you said, there's there's not really anything in Disney World that is like New York centric.
Speaker: Yeah. Right. Like it's yeah it is a very unique style when you think about it. Agreed. So, yeah, I like that. That's a good pick. Okay. All right. I know that's a weird one, but that's, you know, I mean, hey, I picked the MiraCosta, which, yeah yeah you know that yeah know, I think what we're both saying is, you know, you know for these Franken resorts, you know, there is lot there's lots of unique resorts at Disney, but there's lots of room for new unique resorts.
Speaker: So, yeah. Yeah, i listen, I would love to bring ah i would love to bring ah Animal Kingdom Lodge over there, but I think that you you really can't do that. It's not ah not not really feasible, you know? so yeah don't do that. Yeah, no, we can't do that. We can't do that.
Speaker: All right, so lobby and room. Now, I want to say, Trevor, this is kind of falls under theme in a way, right? Mm-hmm. ah While i you know, there's some different resorts out there, right? With like, for example, Riviera doesn't have that crazy lobby like a lot of the older resorts do, right? Like it's it's more understate you know understated, right? It's very yeah it's very ah fancy. Don't get me wrong. I mean, it's honestly Riviera. I've never been in a resort where I felt ah more, you know, with you know having have it like having to wear a you know, like we've joked about before, than Riviera, right? When you and I walked through there, I was like, oof, I feel uncomfortable here. yes Yeah, i feel I feel like I need to be dressed better for this lobby. Yeah, exactly. um But, you know, for me, the there is nothing that compares to the lobbies of, like, Animal Kingdom and Wilderness Lodge, where you walk in there and it's just...
Speaker: I mean, all the way to the ceiling of the resort is just this big, huge open area when you walk in because it's just like you kind of get in awe of it when you walk in. There's an awe factor there. And I think you need that kind of lobby where you walk in and it's just huge and it's grand and it takes you back. It makes you feel like you're really immersed in the place that you are. Mm-hmm.
Speaker: e Yeah, I... i i hi or you So you're saying specifically for your hotel, like this is this is what you think it should be, right? or yeah yeah Yeah. So i I see that, but I feel like for my hotel, um i like the idea of the lobby not being, or i I like it to be a little bit more intimate, I guess. Okay. So like a little more understated, like a little. Yeah. um
Speaker: I mean, looking at, the The hard part is, is like you said, a lot a lot of the hotel lobbies are very grandiose and, you know, you know have a huge impression to them.
Speaker: I mean, I almost want my lobby to be more like like the Disneyland hotel. Like, it's not... the the Disneyland hotel is not like super huge. Like it's, it it looks kind of ah more like a standard hotel lobby, but um it has a lot of the details and nuance and stuff to it. that That's what I would like to see it in a hotel lobby or so. So that would be my pick, I guess, is, you know, make it the Disneyland hotel, but,
Speaker: at the Mira Costa next to a magic kingdom. Franken resort. Yeah. Here here we are. Yeah. We're getting frank. resert Okay. yeah Um, all right. So then let's, let's talk pool.
Speaker: Okay. I feel like I know we're both going to go with this. ah I actually, am I allowed to use a pool that doesn't exist yet? yeah Okay. i So, yeah, if you want, you can use the new... I'm allowed to say Lakeshore Lodge. Yeah. I mean, that's the easy one, i will say. i How could you not want that? I mean, I feel like there's two answers to this, Lakeshore Lodge or Beach Club. but ah No, I i mean...
Speaker: Yes and no. Okay. So, okay. you're You're talking specifically about the amenities of the pool. I'm thinking... I'm talking about the pool in general. Okay. The pool. Like the design, you know, like the theme of it, the what's available there, you know?
Speaker: Right. well Well, so amenities versus theme, I think, are are two slightly different things. Yeah, I agree. Yeah. um ah I actually... So, ah trying to be a little bit different, I was actually going to go with Caribbean Beach as my pool choice.
Speaker: and And it's mainly because it – I think the theming at Caribbean Beach is very – it's very interesting. It's different. It kind of has like – it looks like an old fort.
Speaker: Interesting. I don't know if you're you're looking at pictures of it right now or not. yeah, no. I know. I know. what yeah Yeah. Yeah. So, um yeah, i I want to be a little bit different and – So, okay, I want the theming to be Caribbean Beach, but I want it to have the amenities of Lakeshore Lodge. you know obviously, like, you know, laley river a lazy river with that kind of theming. Like, you know, Lakeshore Lodge's theming is awesome, but imagine floating through, like, ruins of, like, an old Spanish fort or something like i i will say that. I will say that that Caribbean Beach has ah has a cool pool. It does. Yes. So yeah so i think I think from the aesthetic standpoint, yes, but you know the amenities of it, i would I would combine those two together.
Speaker: Okay. yeah All right. that's that's That is fair. i i also i want to have a a rooftop. I need a rooftop restaurant.
Speaker: So let's steal ah ah California grill over at Bay Lakeland. and Let's put that on top of my Franken resort that overlooks Epcot. So I can actually see into the World Showcase Lagoon ah for and I can watch the fireworks from the restaurant.
Speaker: Hmm. Interesting. Yeah, yeah, yeah, i like that. um My on-site resort, I'm actually, oh, what do i I was originally going to say Ohana.
Speaker: well you're going so you're going specific restaurant. So, yeah, okay. I mean, I guess I said California Grill, but I'm more meant just the location of California Grill as opposed the food. but Okay, fair. All right. So, i I mean, I was thinking like something themed like Ohana. So, like a, um...
Speaker: Yeah. You know, that kind of thing. But then also like same thing, you know, ah being my resort being close to Magic Kingdom, um I would want it to, you know, be on on the rooftop as well. um Yeah.
Speaker: Kind of like, I mean, well, that you've got top of the world on top of the ah Bay Lake Tower as it is. So, yeah. But, yeah, I would replace that with more like ah like a Moana type theme or a Moana, sort of Moana, Ohana type theme.
Speaker: They need more rooftop ah rooftop ah restaurants, you know? Yeah. Like, I don't care about the food at California Grill. In fact, I was looking at the and I'm like, i don't even know what I'm going to eat at this place because, i you know, this fate the food's too fancy for me, right? It's not... yeah I'm not a fancy person, right? I'm ah a more of a whoop-dee-doo review, like, Liberty Tree kind of guy. Give me those ribs and chicken. and that's Yeah, exactly right. Yeah. But, you know, i the the view up there is is so, like, just going up there in the, you know, the special elevator and, you know, having that view up there is just is is magical, you know, for yeah for lack of a better term, right? I mean...
Speaker: Sometimes the vibes of the place really matter. in as Oh, you know what? I'm... Okay, sorry. I need to change answer. Oh, change the word. Yeah, I'm sorry. I realize if I don't do this, my my wife's going to get mad at me if I don't do this. Okay, let's see. It has to be Garden Grill.
Speaker: And... Wait, is it also going to rotate on the top of it? Oh, I love that. I love it. Yeah, there you go. that yeah That's the magic. So it has the view, but it it just slowly rotates around. So you're getting like, you know you know, the view is always changing, but you're getting that view of...
Speaker: yeah The only thing that would be unopportune about that is, you know, if you're there for fireworks and yeah you're on the wrong side rotating around. They'd have to stop it. They'd have to stop the turning, right? And you'd have to, like, everybody would all go to one side. like Yeah. Yeah, you have that you'd have to have, like, a deck on the outside that everybody could go to and you would stop turning it, right? like Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah, the the option to go stand on the deck or or and just enjoy the the rotating thing. I will say this is breaking the rules a little bit though, Trevor, because it's not a part of another resort. It's part of our shoe. It's okay. I'm going to allow it. I'm going to allow it because I like the idea so much. Yeah. Cool.
Speaker: I like the idea so much. I'm going to, I'm going allow it. Yeah. Cool. I think, okay. So I, I, the last but not least here to me is transportation and amenities, right?
Speaker: Yes. Okay. All right. Let, let me ask this are we Are we talking just current existing transportation or is there an option to talk about future not necessarily realized transportation?
Speaker: I'm not sure where you're going with that, but youll you'll understand in a minute. Do it. Yeah, let's do it. do it Yeah. Okay. So, um, okay. So transportation let first let's let's qualify. is It's just, you know, obviously our resorts are close to specific parks, but every, every resort has a means of getting to other parks. And in some cases, like, you know, like the Skyliner is, is a, is a fantastic way to get around resorts that aren't immediately connected to a park.
Speaker: Um, I would kind of like to see something. i know this is this would not be the proper use case for it, I guess. But I know Disney has been working on some ah or i sorry, I guess I saw this as a rumor. I don't know that that this is 100 percent coming to fruition, but they've been working on moving walkways.
Speaker: And um so like Universal has this, but they're a bit like they're slow, like. Like the airport ones, right? Yeah, yeah, exactly. But but it sounded like Disney was working on one that it like you get on it and it accelerates not like crazy fast, but it it accelerates up to a certain point. And then when you're coming to the end, it slows down. So it's not like just a single belt. It has like multiple phases to it. So it's.
Speaker: yeah um Again, a more advanced moving walkway. My thought would be, yeah you know, obviously, you know, some of the like Skyliner transportation is great, but imagine having a moving walkway that you just you like you basically like get It it wouldn't even have to be like open air, like, you know you get into like a tunnel or something because, you know, you don't want to be on a catching, you know, Florida rain.
Speaker: on on a moving walkway out and out in the middle of, you know, exposed to elements. a people mover. or like you know but so So I guess it would be, like I said, I've seen some prototypes of this stuff.
Speaker: I think having like a moving walkway, um and I don't, okay, since we're talking frank and resort, yes, this this would effectively replace the monorail. but it would be like a straight shot from the hotel to Epcot.
Speaker: So, so you get, ah you know, you get into a tunnel or something of that ah nature and you just, you're just on a walkway that moves pretty fast. You gotta stand for like a while. Like after a long day, don't want to stand for that long. Cause it's, mean, I, we did it coming back from universal. it you know, you know, it's, you stand on the buses too. I would argue that like, it's, you know,
Speaker: But I just like the idea of it like like the amount of throughput of a moving walkway and just the convenience of it because it's never it's a type of transportation that you're never waiting for. Right. Like like even the Skyliner, there could technically be a line for it. The moving walkway would be it's just, you know, people are constantly getting on and getting off of it. And of course, yes, I know there is also logistically, you know, if somebody falls on it or.
Speaker: what like i know that there's more implications to it i just like the premise of it and i'll just leave it all right all right that's fine and and again it doesn't exist but i've seen demos of a high-speed moving walkway that i would love to see as a park transportation option okay i i i this is gonna feel like a caveat but i i'm gonna do it anyway um I'm going to pick Boardwalk ah again for this because Boardwalk has so many different transportation methods that it, it to me, it is ah it is one of the most flexible, right? So you can walk to Epcot.
Speaker: You can take a Skyliner or a boat to Hollywood Studios or walk if you want, which I've done. We've walked from Epcot to, I mean, i from ah Hollywood Studios to Boardwalk.
Speaker: And you can, and you have the buses. You have every form of transportation at Boardwalk. Except the monorail. Except for the monorail. There's no resorts that have all of the transportation options, right? Any of the Magic Kingdom resorts on the monorail loop have the boat and the monorail, but the and that but then they have bus to go everywhere else.
Speaker: I'm trying to find, i want I want Skyliner access, I want boat access. There are very few that have both Skyliner and boat. In fact, now that I think about it, it's really just Beach beach Club and Boardwalk that are the the ones that have...
Speaker: ah Access to both boat and Skyliner and bus. Okay. Right? um Yeah. So I like the options of Boardwalk. And I like the Skyliner. But I will say this.
Speaker: if If I could do it, right, I guess we are stealing, ah you know, from other resorts. There are no rules to this. yeah Yeah. I want all of them. You can have the intersection of all of the transportation areas.
Speaker: At your resort if you want. Yeah. So let's there's a monorail line that goes there now. and I just made it there. i put it there. It's right there. It takes you to Magic Kingdom. Right. and So it doesn't turn an Epcot. It goes through Epcot to your resort. Yeah. and So there's there's an Epcot. So let's let's create a new Epcot loop.
Speaker: OK. There's an Epcot loop. OK. I'm here for it. Yeah, Epcot Monorail Loop, much like the Monorail Loop at a Magic Kingdom, goes to the Epcot area resorts. And one of those resorts is my Franken resort that I have built in the back of Epcot at the by the World Showcase where Boardwalk is currently located. and And so you have that loop. I don't mind doing a transfer. I'll do a transfer.
Speaker: No big deal. You know, I'll hop on the loop and then hop on the express to to Magic Kingdom. Totally fine with me. That's just an extra Monorail ride that I get to take. So give me that. We've got the we got the ah the give you that Skyliner for Hollywood Studios. Yeah. OK. Yeah. And in this this hypothetical, I would also extend the Skyliner to Animal Kingdom. So, you know, that's that's the only outlier where I have to take a bus right in this scenario.
Speaker: And ah then I'm golden. You know, I got I got to go to I can go either Skyliner or monorail to all the places I want to go. And those are the two best transportation methods. So so you you went with all the options and I went with an option that doesn't exist. So I think we're good. Okay. Yeah. yeah i mean I mean, hey, it's a Franken-reserve, right? like that's so i Yeah. I like it. I like that we both found...
Speaker: equally crazy solutions to yeah to our transportation. I want all the transportation options. yeah Give it all to me. And that's just so, I don't ever have to choose the bus. I will admit if i if I didn't, like I wanted to bring forward the moving walkway thing. if if If that wasn't a thing, I would love to see the Skyliner just be a network that hits every Every every resort and every park, like, like you know you know, beyond the Franken resort, like just Skyliner everywhere. Like, I think i think it would be a great... Because it's such it such a high efficiency thing. like like it Like, even when there's wait times for it, it still moves pretty quick. And it's just like the buses are okay and the monorail is okay, but the Skyliner is...
Speaker: better. Did you say the monorail is okay? Did I just hear my from my ears? yeah Well, from the sense, like you still have to wait for a monorail. Like if if there was a way to do the monorail that it was, like like the Skyliner really is that. It's it's just a more consistent monorail because there's there's always cars moving through, right? Like the monorail, you have to wait for for your train to show up.
Speaker: so Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. that it's Okay. Well, the the one the one last thing I want to specify, and and this is going to be, it can be from a variety of different resorts that this is applicable, but...
Speaker: I want quick service dining within the hotel. Easy to access quick service dining. Doesn't every resort have a quick service? No. Oh. No, like Kidani, one of the big knocks on Kidani does not have quick service in Kidani. You have to go over to Jumbo. Boardwalk is kind of the same. Boardwalk, you actually have to go out into the boardwalk to get quick service. Like, it's not it's not convenient. ah So, yes, most of them do.
Speaker: But I guess some do not. guess Bay Lake Tower is the same thing, too. We have yeah i got to walk over to the contemporary. I got to walk over to the contemporary to get quick service. All right. So so what what quick service are you preferring, I guess?
Speaker: here's the This is going to sound crazy to say this, but I feel like the value resorts are always doing really fun stuff in their food courts. Yeah. Yeah. Actually, you know what? You're right.
Speaker: They're i always doing like really crazy like food and like they, they you know, and just fun stuff. I like – I like the way that the, the all stars are structured that you've got like the different, it's like a food court, right? Where it's like, you have the different places you can walk up to. Like, like there's like the, the, the cabinets where you get, you know there's all the cold stuff, which I think all the quick services have some version of that.
Speaker: um But also it's like, you know, you can get a pizza over here. There's burgers over here. Like kind of similar, I guess, to a sunshine seasons, yeah sunshine seasons. Like, yeah, I think, I think that,
Speaker: would be a good way to do a quick service in a franken resort for sure i i like i like a i like a you know a variety of options i actually you know if we were allowed to take from the parks if we were going to go that route i would i would take sunshine season seasons because i'd love but that structure where it's like all stars is that so yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah i mean i think it is it's been a long time since i stayed at all stars so yeah I mean, yeah, you're right. It's been a minute. But like I said, I distinctly remember being like, oh, you like you like you go up, you pick what you want. It's like a food court. And then, yeah, you and then you you check out and you're done kind of thing. Right. I I very much like that, too, versus like, you know, ordering off the menu is fine.
Speaker: um But yeah, I I like that. That food court thing has a certain vibe to it. Yeah. yeah Options, man. I love options. Options presented to me. Like, like you know, every you know menu is options, but seeing everything laid out and like, you you know, pick what you want from...
Speaker: almost a buffet. Like it's obviously not a buffet, but it feels like a buffet. Yeah. Yeah. I like that. I know it's a, it's a kind of a weird one to say, but I will say too, even just that the, I mean, even the contemporary, like the, the quick service they have there is kind of small.
Speaker: Like, you know, a lot of them are pretty small. I mean, even Roaring Fork over at ah at Wilderness Lodge, it's not huge. These food courts are huge. Give me a huge food court. Yeah, same with Captain Cook's in Polynesian. it's It's a very tight space. And yeah like we we never eat there because it is so busy and so small. It's like you get your food you get out of there.
Speaker: I agree with you. I would i would rather have like like an all-stars type quick service. Yeah, yeah. All right. I think i think that's all I got, though. No, I like it. i I will adopt that idea for mine as well because I i wasn't even thinking about the quick service. but It's important. yeah i think I think it's a good one. And I think these resorts would be insane if – yeah So just to recap, mine is located where the boardwalk currently is, yeah ah has a grand lobby that you walk into, is themed to Marvel, ah and has the pool from Lakeshore Lodge, ah you know, but more Marvel-y themed, obviously. But, you know, with all the the cool stuff you got there, and has access to but all the the Skyliner, the monorail, boats, and buses, and has a food court for a quick service.
Speaker: And okay, so so mine is ah right outside of Magic Kingdom where Bay Lake Tower is, themed to the Miracosta in Tokyo Disney. um What did I say for the lobby again? Oh, yeah. i did The Disneyland lobby. Yeah. It was it was the Disneyland lobby or Disneyland hotel lobby.
Speaker: um The pool is Caribbean beach themed. Okay. Yeah. but But with a lazy river, and you know, the amenities of Lakeshore Lodge. And then transportation is an unreal...
Speaker: uh uh what's it called am i forgetting the name now it's uh it's a um high speed uh walking oh the walking path thing yeah yeah yeah moving walkway High speed moving walkway. Thank you. I was struggling. What are you talking about? in the words Yeah. High speed moving walkway, um which doesn't exist, um but also a Skyliner connector of some sort. And then, yeah, same thing as you, the food court. Oh, and and I also have Garden Grill.
Speaker: up on top or a rotating restaurant a la garden grill. Oh, that's right. Yeah. We got to have the rooftop. I forgot about the rooftop restaurant. Yeah. yeah Yeah. Yeah. I like it. z i this Yeah. Yeah. That was that was fun.
Speaker: um Yeah. I think, ah I think that was good. I mean, we can, we can call there. And again, thank you, Ali, again, for the idea in the, in the discord. That was, ah that was fun to go through and just think about how crazy you can get with a resort. Yeah.
Speaker: All right. Well, this was fun. Yep. So ah this is this has been The Waitlist. I hope you guys enjoyed it, and we'll we'll be back um we'll be back soon here.
