Speaker: What's up, people of the internet? It's DJ Treacy Treese. And yes, my bracket is in shambles. Juju Watkins went down with an injury. Bronny is shining. The Lakers are folding. And March is madder than ever. So let's just jump right into this madness on a new episode of The Post Up.

Speaker: Let's pick up where we left off in the last video. I was going through my bracket, so I want to check back in and let you know after two rounds of play where my bracket is. As you can see here, it is in shambles, y'all.
Speaker: I have only 23.7%
Speaker: Correct. You heard that right. I was i was in the top million of brackets for a while. And somehow I know I'm going to tell you exactly who messed me up because I believed in some of the upsets and I shouldn't have believed in some of the upsets.
Speaker: Let's go through it. Okay, the first thing I want you to look at is the fact that I still have South Carolina winning the whole tournament. So I might redeem myself there because I got the overall winner right, but I haven't accumulated many points.
Speaker: All right, I correctly got UCLA. UCLA also correctly made it to the second round and the Sweet 16 for me. Wonderful. Georgia Tech.
Speaker: That's the first team that that threw my whole bracket off. Georgia Tech. They lost and that just kind of threw it all off. um And then Baylor lost as well. So I got my first round wrong. And then the people that I thought was going make it in the second round, they made it to the second round, but they lost too. So it's just it didn't go right in that situation.
Speaker: I correctly got Florida State right. And then I correctly got LSU right. And I thought FSU was going to go over LSU. I was thinking that LSU was going to drop the ball and they blew them out by 30 points. So I was wrong on that one. That one straight out the gate was a wrong prediction.
Speaker: Let's move on. I thought Harvard Cinderella story was going to be able to sell it, but Michigan state was not playing with them. Not to mention. i also had Harvard go. I thought they were going to the dance. I thought they were going to be the story that carried through this Ivy school Ivy league school who wasn't projected to make it past this. I thought that was their story.
Speaker: I was wrong. They messed up two of my brackets. in And then I got NC State right. So then i had NC State losing. No, NCSU.
Speaker: So I had Harvard beating NC State. i don't know what I was thinking. at it i'm thinking about that i don't I don't know what exactly I was thinking, but that was crazy. And, um yeah, no, no, I don't think.
Speaker: now that Now that I'm saying it was never going to happen. Moving it on, i had, okay, so we talked about the LSU. So I missed that. I didn't have LSU in the Sweet 16 or NC State in the Sweet 16. That's why I deserve to be in bottom 20%. I was wondering what went wrong there.
Speaker: I still have UCLA winning in the Sweet 16 over Ole Miss. even though I predicted that Baylor would be there. But I have UCLA being the winner and making it to the final four.
Speaker: Let's go to the other side of the bracket. I knew South Carolina was going win. South Carolina was going to win. South Carolina was going win. All of those were correct. But this Utah versus Indiana thing was my fault. Again, y'all see I got on a Purdue shirt. I am from Purdue. I would never believe in Indiana.
Speaker: So I believe they were going to lose even though they they won that one. So I shot my own self in the foot there, but I was willing to take the L for that one. I chose Alabama. And um I had Norfolk State going over Alabama, but Norfolk State didn't make it.
Speaker: They got beat by Maryland. That's another one of those teams that I thought was going to be a Cinderella story that I could talk about. I could beat my chest about. And that just didn't happen. So I was wrong there. Again, i am self-discovering why I deserve to be in the bottom 20% of this bracket situation. y Going on West Virginia. I was correct. Um, UNC over West Virginia. I was correct. And I knew that, uh, North Carolina Duke would be sweet 16.
Speaker: Got all those. Correct. Vandy threw my bracket off. And there was so ah many other people on the internet who got thrown off by Vanderbilt. You won't touch another bracket. My way Vanderbilt, Norfolk state, Utah.
Speaker: Um, who else?
Speaker: Harvard.
Speaker: I was wrong about that NC State. That was my bad. I'm not believing in Baylor no more either. I'm done with it. I was watching that game. It was crazy. Richmond show up and show out, beat Georgia Tech. I can't believe that happened.
Speaker: But that's a quick checkup on my bracket. I'll make sure on the next episode we finish it out with my final four. This has been such a great March Madness, y'all. And I just wanted to make sure I popped back into my bracket so that you could see where I was at. Let's jump back into the show.
Speaker: After watching Juju Watkins play so well all this season, all well last season and getting to the Sweet 16 and losing, you were hoping for a better outcome this year. But unfortunately, Juju Watkins of USC has went down with a season-ending ACL injury, will be undergoing surgery here shortly, and starting that long road of recovery.
Speaker: It's tough, man. This one specifically is tough because the whole nation is rooting for Juju. Just here downtown, she had a big painted billboard of her. ah when When she decided to go to a college and commit to a college, she picked USC because she wanted to put USC back on the map and California back on the map in the forefront.
Speaker: of women's college basketball, and she's done nothing short of that the entire time that she's been at USC. We've been rooting for Juju. Watching her have to be carried off of the court was extremely tough. So prayers out for Juju, her family, and everyone on the USC team who will be a part of her rehabilitation. We're praying for a speedy recovery, and we already know that you're going to come back better.
Speaker: Let's talk about USC moving forward in the tournament. I didn't have them going past this round anyway. I didn't have them in a final four because of the matchups that were there. And that's probably why their coach was a little bit mad, but the team might play with a little bit more fierceness.
Speaker: Kiki Iriafen is stepping up now. This is her senior year. She's going into the WNBA draft. So this is a great time for ah the team to rally together, do it for Juju and take the team as far as they can. Do I think they will...
Speaker: make it past the final four? No, I think it'll be a stretch if they even make it to the final four. It'll be one heck of a story for ESPN and all the all the WNBA people who will be scouting Kiki.
Speaker: But um I'm really praying that UCLA can still play some quality basketball without their powerhouse of Juju Watkins. Let me know your thoughts about Juju's injury in the comments. I know a lot of people were affected by it.
Speaker: Why are the Lakers falling apart? We were already falling apart at the beginning of the season. We got a trade that seemed like it was sent from heaven. We started to see some of this Luka magic, and it kind of seems like we're tanking for a lower seed in the playoffs now, which I could totally, if that's the best thing you think, JJ, I'm with it. But for the Lakers fans, we tired of watching losing.
Speaker: LeBron been out with the groin injury. Luka was out. Everybody been out. Rui was out. we Now we back. Let's play together. Continue to play defense. JJ it has been talking about defense, especially when losing to a ah team like the Chicago Bulls by 20 points.
Speaker: We got to play better defense. I don't know who's tanking more, us or Denver right now. And really, both of us are tanking for a better spot in the Western Conference Finals. Again, I'm not accusing the Lakers of doing this.
Speaker: I'm just tired of watching losing. And as a Lakers fan, it's like, why are we falling apart again? We're a powerhouse in the West. We were jumping through the ranks. What are we doing here? So I'm just ready for the playoffs at this point. This is the time of the NBA season where you hit that lull and you like, okay, I need some win it or go home kind of basketball to send some people to Cancun to move on, to be interested in this.
Speaker: And WNBA season is coming up. The NFL draft, all the drafts coming up. So come on, let's let's wrap this up. Let's move forward into the playoff push. Lakers, come on, give us something watch. Let me be grateful because you know what has been something to watch?
Speaker: Nephew Bronny. Okay? Everybody was putting smut on his name. Stephen A. Smith talking on everything. Listen, all the Lakers was out. Bronny stepped up. Did we lose? Yes, we did.
Speaker: But he still stepped up in the NBA game and had like 17 points. Is this not what we wanted from him? Are you not entertained? In rookies, he's actually leading in points per game.
Speaker: For people under 20 years old or some you know how they manufacture stats anyway. Bronny is balling in the G League now, looking more comfortable in the NBA and actually contributing to the Lakers. So what they going to say now?
Speaker: What they going to say now? So I'm just excited to see that from Bronny, see him hit a three-pointer over Jokic. These kind of things that are happening because they said he wasn't good enough to even play. So what are doing now?
Speaker: Where is going?
